Persistence and consistency matters when it comes to receiving from God, it makes all the difference in heaven. We must not give up to quickly. If we hinge our faith on Gods word, we will see the workings of the word in our lives. If we believe the word, we must speak it, and act it. We must not remain quiet, but take what God has said and declare it!
[0:00] Welcome. Thank you for choosing to listen to another faith-building message by Pastor David Entry. Faith comes by hearing and by hearing the Word of God.
[0:11] May your knowledge of Jesus Christ increase as you listen. Be blessed. Matthew chapter 15, reading from verse 21. Then Jesus went thence and departed into the coast of Tyre and Sadon.
[0:28] And behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coast and cried out unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou son of David.
[0:45] My daughter is grievously vexed with a devil. He said, My daughter is grievously vexed. A devil is troubling my daughter. So, Lord, have mercy on me.
[0:57] And he answered her, not a word. He answered her, not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away, for she cries after us.
[1:15] The woman didn't give up. She kept crying. She was crying after them, calling on Jesus, calling on Jesus. Listen, persistence. When it comes to receiving a testimony from God, persistence matters.
[1:30] Constance matters. Doing something, calling on his name, reading your Bible every day, taking a step of faith, doing all that you know you're supposed to do. You are doing it on a consistent basis.
[1:42] You keep, you maintain the consistency. It makes a difference with heaven. So, Bible says that the woman didn't give up. She kept following her and following them and telling them, Please, tell Jesus to do something for me.
[1:55] And the disciples came to him and said that, Master, I think you have to let this woman go because she's determined to harass us with a need. But he answered and said, Jesus answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
[2:16] My assignment at the moment is for some people. It's not everything I can do. My assignment is for some people. I can't say because I'm God. I'm going around the whole world from town to town. I will never finish.
[2:27] My assignment is for some people.
[2:57] I'm only sent to the house of Israel because she came from the regions of Canaan. She came and actually worshipped. She took it further. She took it further.
[3:09] It's about time somebody begins to take your worship further. She took it further, your prayer life further. She took it further and now came and actually worshipped him. Who told you God wasn't here?
[3:21] God is not moved by our praise. Who told you God is not moved by our worship? So she came and worshipped him and said, say, help me. Say, help me. Say, help me.
[3:33] I see help coming for somebody. I see somebody who is, this is your desperation that God helped me. God helped me. I see this desperation being turned around into a testimony.
[3:45] I see God fighting for you. I see God meeting you at the point of your need. So he said, Lord, have mercy on me. Lord, help me.
[3:57] Then verse 24 says that. But he answered and said, I am not sent back to the lordship of Israel. Then verse 25, then she came and worshipped him and said, Lord, help me.
[4:11] But he answered and said, it's not meat. It is not meat to take the children's bread and cast it to the dogs.
[4:23] So he says, the bread is for children. There are dogs. I can't just give it. So in other words, Jesus is saying that you, the Canaan, Canaanite woman, who is not part of the Jews, you are almost like a dog.
[4:35] And I can't take what belongs to the children and give it to you. He wasn't insulting him. But the woman understood what he meant in those days. They didn't treat people who are not Jews, who are Gentiles.
[4:48] They were supposed to protect themselves from the Gentiles. So they treated them differently. They didn't give them preferential treatment, almost like dogs, because they don't have a relationship with the living God.
[4:59] But those people who are not Jews, the Gentiles, they didn't have a relationship with God. And Jews were not supposed to have anything to do with them.
[5:11] So he said, I can't just take the children's bread and give it to the dogs. Then the woman continued to say, and she said, true, Lord, you are right.
[5:24] I won't deny it. True, Lord, yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from the master's table. So he said, even though it's not meant for the dogs, the dogs, for some reason, always get something to eat for some reason.
[5:41] So the woman did not give up. Remember, she first of all followed them, followed them, followed them. And then when he got to a time where he's now gotten the attention, he kept pushing.
[5:52] And Jesus said, Larry, what do you want me to do for you? And Jesus said, no, I can't give you what belongs to the Jews. Then he began, no, even if it don't belong to the Jews, then I'm also qualified.
[6:03] Something will be left for me. There must be something left for me. The children may not eat all the bread. They may be throwing some on the ground. So the one on the ground, let me have it.
[6:13] And watch this. And Jesus, and then verse 50, verse 28, then Jesus answered and said unto her, oh, woman, great is thy faith, but be it unto you, even as you have desired or you have willed.
[6:35] And her daughter was made whole from that hour. Sometimes our disappointment is we don't persevere enough. You give up too quickly. You give up.
[6:46] And that is also reflective of your faith. He said, Lord, I believe. My belief means that whatever you say is final. Whether the situations have changed or not, I don't even need to bring it to my house.
[6:58] Just speak. Once you speak, it will be fine. Once you speak, it will be fine. Once you speak, it will be fine. I hinge my faith on your word. If you hinge your faith on God's word, you will see the workings of God's word in your life.
[7:11] In the name of Jesus. She said, I hinge my faith on your word. I want to tell somebody, don't be afraid, okay? Don't be afraid. A lot is going on around you. Sometimes your heart is so heavyweight because of what is going on around you.
[7:24] But I want to encourage you that don't be afraid. God will fight for you. God will help you. God will defend you. God will deliver you. God will sustain you. In the name of Jesus. Yes.
[7:37] And so the woman didn't give up. That's the point I want to make. And then in Matthew chapter 8, the centurion also comes to Jesus. And he says that my servant is laying at home sick.
[7:48] Would you come and pray for my son? And then Jesus said, Matthew chapter 8, right from verse 5 or verse 6.
[8:05] The centurion answered and said, okay, let's look at verse 5. And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion.
[8:18] Okay. A centurion, that's an unbeliever, complete unbeliever, because a Roman soldier, beseeching him, that means he's begging him, and saying, Lord, my servant lies at home sick of the palsy previously, grievously tormented.
[8:36] So my servant is so sick and he's being tormented. My servant is tormented. Then Jesus said, okay, I'll come home. Jesus said, no problem. I'll come and help.
[8:46] So he came to Jesus and he said, my servant is driven. I said, there's seven. And Jesus said, I will come and heal him. The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou should come under my roof, but speak the word only and my servant shall be healed.
[9:04] Don't come. Just speak the word. Then he said, I am a man under authority. I said to this one, go, and he goes. This one, come, and he comes. And he understood the power of the spoken word. Oh, hallelujah.
[9:14] He understood the power of the spoken word. He spoke and he spoke his understanding of the word of God, the spoken word of God. The written word of God is powerful, but it becomes something else once it's released through our mouth.
[9:29] Once it is spoken. He said, Jesus, speak the word. If you're a man of authority, your word is powerful enough. Jesus, speak the word. Jesus said, I have not seen faith like this in Israel. And then he turned to the man in the verse 13.
[9:42] And Jesus said unto the centurion, go your way. And as thou has believed, so be it done unto you. And his servant was healed in the self-same hour.
[9:55] Jesus said, as you have believed, not as I have said, but as you have believed. I don't know who I'm talking to. But you see, this thing that you are believing God for, or this thing that you are hoping God will do for you, you have to trust him.
[10:07] Put your faith in him. Start working in obedience. Don't be afraid. Don't be afraid of the terror by day or the terror by night. Don't be afraid of the threats of the enemy.
[10:18] It will be well with you. When you walk by faith, it will only be well with you. When you walk by faith, it will only be well with you. Hallelujah. Believe Jesus. Believe God. Today, believe God for your household.
[10:29] Believe God for your marriage. Believe God for your marriage. Believe God for your... Your sisters are not married. And so what? You are not your sisters. You are not your sisters. You are not your sisters. Nobody has married in your family.
[10:40] And so what? You are not everybody in your family. You are somebody in the Lord who was born in that family. Your testimony is coming. Nobody is able to do well in their education. You are going to be the first to do well in your family.
[10:53] I hear somebody saying amen because it's happening for you. I hear somebody's testimony has arrived. Amen. Put your faith in Jesus. Put your faith out.
[11:05] Please put your faith in Jesus. Believe God. The centurion said, I believe. And Bible says that. Jesus said, go your way and be it unto you just as you have believed.
[11:16] Let me read it again. Verse 13. It says, and Jesus answered unto the centurion, go your way.
[11:27] And as you have believed, so be it done unto you. So not me just do it. Your belief will determine what is going to be done for you. Your belief.
[11:39] Your belief. When you believe, speak it and act it. This is very important. If you believe, speak it and act it. The woman came to Jesus. Jesus said, I'm not ready for a miracle.
[11:50] He said, yes, you are. He said, I'm not ready. He said, you are. I'm not ready. You are. He said, oh, but I'm not sent to Canaanites, but only to the house of Israel. He said, yes, but we are also here.
[12:01] You have to help us. You have to help me. Maybe not our people, but me. You are. You have to. And then Jesus said, but I can't give the children's bread to the dogs. He said, dogs also eat.
[12:11] Dogs also eat. When the children finish eating the bread, children will always drop some on the floor. And he said, dogs also eat. So, yeah, I admit that I'm not part of the children, but I need help.
[12:25] And Jesus said, oh, great is your faith, oh woman. Go and be it unto you as you have said. Go and be it unto you as you have said.
[12:36] So, what you have believed, what you have said, is what will determine how your life turns out. I hope somebody is listening to me. It's not the number of men that are not in your life.
[12:47] You don't have a man in your life. You don't have a woman in your life. You don't have this. You don't have this. But make sure. Oh, thank you, Jesus. If you don't have something, make sure you have faith. All the things you don't have, make sure faith is not one of them.
[13:01] Thank you, Jesus. Make sure your faith is not one of them. Have faith in God. In Mark chapter 11, 22, Jesus said, have faith in God.
[13:12] Have faith in God. Have faith in God. For if you have faith in God, you shall say, whoever believes in me, he shall say to this mountain, be that removed and be cast into the sea.
[13:25] And that shall not doubt in his heart, but believes that the things that he said, it shall come to pass. He said, that person will have whatever he says. That's a serious one. You shall have whatsoever you say.
[13:38] Mark chapter 11, verse 22 and 23. He said, you shall have whatsoever you say. Not whatsoever the doctor says that you have. Not whatsoever the economy says that you have.
[13:50] Not whatsoever people say. But whatever you say, you have to learn how to speak out. Speak out. Speak out what you believe. Speak out what you believe based on the word of God.
[14:00] Please make sure it's based on the word of God. In Romans chapter 10, he said, the word of faith which we preach. What says it? From verse 7. What does it say? The word of faith which we preach.
[14:12] He said, it is near you. Wow. Near me. Where? In your mouth. This word we are preaching is right in your mouth. This word we are preaching, it's in your mouth. That if you shall believe in your heart, the Lord Jesus, and confess with your mouth that God raised him from the dead, you shall be saved.
[14:29] So you have to believe in your heart and confess. Confession is important. Please, from today, begin to declare. By faith, it is well with my soul. By faith, it is because God is rich in mercy.
[14:41] I don't know where you have gone wrong ever. But I know where God can fix you. I see heaven can fix you. Yesterday, or the day before yesterday, I spoke about blind Bartimaeus in Mark chapter 10, verse 46.
[14:55] When Jesus was coming to Jericho, he saw this man sitting by the roadside begging for arms. And when he saw Jesus, he asked Jesus for arms. And Jesus, sorry, when he saw, he's a blind man.
[15:10] When he heard that it was Jesus, Bible said he started shouting, crying out. Jesus, please don't shut up.
[15:20] Don't shut up. Don't shut up. When he said keep quiet, don't be quiet. Not when it comes to your exercise in your faith. Don't be quiet. Open your mouth and declare what you believe God is going to do.
[15:31] What the word of God has said. What the word of God has said. Open your mouth and believe it and declare it. Believe it and declare it. Believe it. The woman spoke to Jesus. The man whose servant was in the centurion, he spoke to Jesus.
[15:45] Here, we can see blind Bartimaeus cried out. People said shut up. When you begin to cry out to God, people will always use their own opinion and their own faulty judgment to determine whether you are allowed to shout or not.
[15:59] Whether you are allowed to cry out on the Lord or not. Do not mind anybody. Do not mind. As long as it's in the word of God, obey the word of God. Speak what the word of God has said. Psalm 107, he says, let the redeemed of the Lord say so.
[16:14] Let the redeemed of the Lord say so. Those who are redeemed, say it. If God has healed you, say it. That's why we testify in our church. So that when God has done something, you get the freedom and you get the opportunity to tell others what God has done.
[16:30] And bring him glory before others. So others who can trust him, they can put their trust in him for that. I see God putting laughter in your mouth. I see God fighting your battles.
[16:42] But you got to step out in faith. Sister, bro, it is time to boost up your faith level by the intake of the word of God and a decision to walk by faith. A decision to walk by faith.
[16:53] Our ear of faith says we walk by faith and not by sight. Ah, la dabba shaga. We walk by faith and not by sight. By sight. I see God is telling somebody's captivity wrong.
[17:05] That is why when you hear a declaration, that is why when you hear a prophetic declaration, it's coming with power. But the power comes towards you if you believe and you confess it. So you hear the word that you agree with.
[17:17] You don't have to be shy about saying amen. You don't have to be diplomatic about saying the amen. You don't have to be concerned about saying the amen. If Brian Patima also had been concerned about the people around him, he would have missed his lifetime miracle.
[17:31] But he didn't care. He knows that his miracle, or he knew his miracle was ready. And so he was going to access his miracle through calling on the name of the Lord.
[17:43] Mark chapter 10, verse 46, 47, 48, 49. And he called on the name of the Lord. I see somebody calling, crying out to the Lord. Crying out. That's why we are on this platform.
[17:53] Because our help is in the name of the Lord. There is no name, other name given amongst men by which we might be saved. Save the name Jesus. As you call on his name, as you cry out to the Lord, I see God turning your captivity around.
[18:07] I see God giving you answers. Fear not. Make sure you are not afraid. Don't be afraid. Trust God. Don't be afraid. Trust God. Don't be afraid. Trust God. Put your faith in God.
[18:17] Put your confidence in God. And speak out your convictions in the word of God. Don't let anybody discourage you. Don't let anybody talk you out. Speaking God's word. Because in this word is power.
[18:29] In this word is favor. In this word is deliverance. As you speak his word, your deliverance is coming to bear. Your healing is coming to bear. His power is coming to bear. Your victory is coming to bear.
[18:40] Your miracle is coming to bear. Speak his word. He said the word of faith which we preach, it's near you. Where is it? It's in your mouth. There is power in your mouth. If you are hearing the power of God's word, then it becomes powerful when it gets into your mouth.
[18:55] He said this book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth, not out of your ears, not out of your shelf, your mouth. The book must enter your mouth. So when you speak out, Joshua 1.8, when you speak out, the word is working.
[19:08] When you speak out, who told you you can't change your destiny by your words? You can change your destiny by your words because your destiny is at the mercy of your words. Hey! Your destiny is at the mercy of your speaking.
[19:20] What are you saying? Jesus said in Mark 11.23, Whosoever shall say to this mountain, be that move removed and be cast into the sea. And there's no doubt in his heart.
[19:31] Don't doubt in your heart. As you pray God's word, don't doubt in your heart. Believe God. Listen to me, brothers and sisters. Somebody's about to have whatever you say. So why don't you say it?
[19:44] Amen. Why don't you say it? And back it with your step of obedience. Yes. Say it. And don't change your confession. Yes. The woman said, Jesus, you are not going. You are not going anywhere.
[19:54] Today, I'm getting the miracle. Jesus said, no, I'm not ready. He said, but I'm ready. He said, but me, I'm not ready. He said, the woman said, but me, I'm ready. But me, I'm ready. I am ready, Lord.
[20:05] And Jesus said, wow, I've not seen faith like this. What was she doing? She was just speaking her convictions because of her faith, of her trust in what God can do. She spoke it.
[20:17] Don't be silent. Prima, but she must. They try to silence you. I don't know what is trying to silence you, but don't be quiet. It's the time to speak out. It's the time to speak out.
[20:28] It's the time to speak out. The scripture said, and the centurion's son was made whole right from that time. Jesus said, go home.
[20:40] He said, go your way. And he went his way. In John chapter 9, another man came to Jesus. He said, please come home. My son lies sick at the point of death.
[20:54] John chapter 9 from verse 48. And Jesus said, unless you see sons and wonders, you will not believe. And they said, go. Go home.
[21:05] Your son lives. And he took Jesus for his way and went home. See, if you believe, you will act. If you believe, you will act. If you believe God is securing your marriage, you won't be distracted by the wrong person you know you are supposed to let go.
[21:21] Let her go. Let him go. Let him go. Because this was not a good influence on your destiny. This is not a good influence on your walk with God.
[21:32] Let him go. And do it God's way. In obedience. And see what God can do. Thank you for listening. To hear more from David Entry, follow him on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn.
