Run The Race

[0:00] Thank you for choosing to listen to today's message by Reverend Dr. David Entry. We know you will be blessed as you seek and serve God. We believe that this message will stir up a desire for more of God even as you listen.

[0:13] Be blessed. There's a short word that is on my heart which I want to speak to you all. It's in 1 Corinthians chapter 9. 1 Corinthians chapter 9.

[0:27] I'm reading from verse 24. The Bible says that, Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receives the prize.

[0:39] So run that he may, so run that he may obtain. It says that people who run a race, all run, but one receives the prize. So what should you do?

[0:51] You should run in such a way that you receive the prize. There is prize ahead. There is a blessing ahead. The blessing of God is coming on you.

[1:02] Amen. Blessing ahead. You won't, as I said earlier, you won't have to explain to people how God is blessing you. They will see it. Amen. Amen.

[1:13] In the mighty name of Jesus. Amen. Amen. He said, don't you know that those who run in a race all run, all run, but run receive the prize.

[1:24] Then he says that soul run. That soul run. You have to run in a way, in such a way that you will receive the prize. Amen. Amen. Before this lockdown is over, before the year is over, oh boy, some of you, you will not be recognizable.

[1:42] Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Verse 25. Verse 25 says that, and every man that strives for mastery is temperate in all things.

[1:56] now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown but we are incorruptible crown now that means that when people run the athletes who send boats more farah and those guys when they are running they actually are they discipline themselves so that they can win that prize they can win the gold medal there's nobody who wins a gold medal by accident so he says that if they work for it so we also he said they even work for gold medal that when you die that's it you can't get it again it will perish it can be stolen you can miss it you can lose it it's called it's a perishable crown but we we we are doing this is he said watch this look at the verse 25 again said every man that strives for the mastery is temperate in all things now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown but we are incorruptible crown wow so that means that we are also striving for masteries they are striving for masteries we are striving for masteries but their masteries the results of their masteries is different from their results their results is corruptible in other words it is not eternal it's temperate but the results of our uh what we are we are contesting for is it has eternal weight of glory according to second corinthians chapter 4 verse sorry chapter 5 verse 17 it has eternal weight of glory it's heavy in glory so amen do it for a corruptible crown we don't do it for it but even those who are doing it for a corruptible crown watch this the bible said they are temperate in all things do you know what it means they are patient they are controlled oh brother control your desires control your emotions why because you are contesting for a crown wow wow it's so well i feel i feel i feel i feel i feel i'm coming on the zoom so i'll come i feel i feel i feel like leaving so i'll leave i feel like stop it you are contesting for a crown so if you are contesting for a crown it is necessary it behooves it behooves you to be to be temperate in all things sometimes somebody may even upset you somebody may annoy you but it is necessary and it behooves you to be temperate and you receive grace to be temperate amen i want to read it from the amplified bible the amplified bible says that do you not know that in a race it's all all the runners compete but only one receive the prize that verse 24 let me go to verse 25 now every athlete who goes into training conducts himself conducts himself temperately and restricts himself in all things there need to be a certain level of restriction restriction is part of the trophy winning the trophy yes wow wow whoever wins a trophy has restricted himself oh yeah i don't know why god lay this on my heart to bring it to somebody's attention that restriction is necessary because of who you are how many of you know how many of us i believe most of us should know this that the queen cannot go everywhere and anywhere she wants to go everything and anything she wants to do why because she has a crown to protect she cannot relocate to go and live in n.a why she has a crown to protect yes crown to keep and so the point i'm making here is that you have also got a better crown a greater crown amen

[6:01] because of that you must be controlled and restricted in every area of your life wow you can do whatever you feel like doing roy you can do everything you want to do others are doing it but you sorry i can't do it because i'm the prime minister i can't do it i can't be part of that deal because i'm the prime minister i'm a minister of state i can't go there i'm i'm a representative of god i'm gs's ambassador so i can't do this yes so back to king james he said that you have to be temperate in office verse 26 he said i therefore so long not as uncertainly so fight i not as one that beats the head i'm not fighting endlessly i am targeted in my my restrictions i know what i'm doing look at best 27 he said but i keep myself i keep under my body and bring it into subjection less less that by any means when i have preached to others i myself should be a cast away yeah god forbid let me read it from the amplified bible it says that therefore i do i do not run uncertainly or without definite aim i do not box like one beating the air and striking without an adversary but like a boxer i buffet my body handle it roughly discipline it by hardship it for fear that after after after proclaiming to others the gospel and the things pertaining to it i myself should become unfit not stand the test be unapproved and rejected as a counterfeit oh i see nice if i don't do this you see for those of us who are this we are doing this church team you can't you can't just do church and then you behave well you can't do it rather than let me get out of faith it will come across like counterfeit counterfeit but i know you are not a counterfeit amen you are the real deal yes yes yes yes so this is the scripture god laid on my heart that we are in a race so we have to target and discipline and aim that we are working with jesus now we don't meet in church regularly no we don't even get to meet at all and likely we may not meet anytime soon yeah it's likely it may take a while because i'm going to be going to talk about the boric jones's announcements and nothing has changed whatever the situation christ in christ 20 years.

[9:16] Hallelujah. Amen. Listen, I know, Carice, we can do it. Yes, we can. Come on. Yes, we can. Christ is our strength.

[9:28] Amen. We speak on the strength from Christ. The Bible says, the Lord is my son and my strength. He has become my salvation. Carice, we can. And you will love our life.

[9:38] Amen. Amen. You will love our life. Amen. You are going to France life. France life. France life. France life. France life. Amen. France life. Amen. From birth to birth.

[9:50] Amen. From soul to soul. Amen. And in the name of Jesus. Amen. That means that we have to believe, God, that every one of us, we are going to embark on church growth.

[10:02] Amen. Amen. We need souls. We are not going out, but we can use every means possible and necessary and decent to win souls.

[10:13] To get people to join the church. To get courage to grow. It must go on record that we are a church that grew bigger in the time of lockdown. Amen.

[10:23] Amen. Because we have serious Christians who are genuine about their worship and they are determined to live the life that will bring honor to Christ.

[10:35] Amen. We are going to do it. The Lord laid on my heart, I'm telling you, that this scripture, it says that run in such a way that you may obtain the prize. Right.
