[0:00] Thank you for choosing to listen to today's message by Rev. Dr. David Etchie. We know you will be blessed as you seek and serve God. We believe that this message will stir up a desire for more of God even as you listen.

[0:14] Be blessed. A year of faith. A year of faith. A year of faith. A year of faith. A year of faith. A year of faith. A year of faith. A year of faith.

[0:25] A year of faith. A year of faith. A year of faith. Yes, yes, yes. A year of faith. Yes, yes, yes. Yes, yes, yes, yes. And to walk by faith, to be able to walk with God, the just shall live by faith.

[0:38] Yes. In Romans 1-17, Galatians 3-11, and Hebrews 10-38, Habakkuk 2-4.

[0:50] It says, the just shall live by faith. Let's not say the just shall live by faith. Let's not say the just shall live by faith. So you can be the just. If faith is absent, you will be dying.

[1:03] Yeah. In fact, in Psalm 82 verse 6, I say, ye are God, and all of you are children of the Messiah. Verse 7, but ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.

[1:20] That shouldn't be. That shouldn't be. You can't die like, or you can't be subject to what everybody suffers easily. Amen. Because if you're a child of God, for supernatural reasons, you have a covenant of exemption.

[1:35] Amen. Amen. Amen. So, 2 Corinthians chapter 5 verse 7. For we walk by faith and not by sight.

[1:46] Walking there means the way we conduct our lives. The way we do our things. We make decisions based on faith.

[1:58] Not based on sight. Not based on sensory perception. Not based on what the natural mind tells us.

[2:11] So the natural mind, sensory perceptions can tell you one thing, but your faith will also be saying something, and you have to walk by faith and not by sight.

[2:24] Now listen to this. So everybody on earth, every human being walks. When I say walk, I explain that walking there, we walk by faith, is not taking steps, but conducting life.

[2:42] All right. And so you are either conducting your life by sight or by faith. If you are hungry and you see food in your fridge, you open the fridge and you see food, and you're hungry and it's good food, what would you do?

[3:05] Do you need to pray to know whether to eat it or not? No. That's just common sense. And ordinary people live only by common sense.

[3:18] But we don't live only by common sense. So many of the things we do require common sense understanding. So, for instance, I drive. I don't drive by faith, per se.

[3:30] I drive based on my training instructions. I've been to driving. I've had lessons. I've had lessons.

[3:41] So even though I was a man of faith, I needed lessons to know how to drive. When it comes to major issues and important issues and decisions of life, most people are only limited to what they see.

[3:56] In other words, what they have been trained, five senses, what they see, what they hear, what they touch, what they feel, what they can understand. So how do you walk by faith?

[4:07] Because walking by faith doesn't mean you are doing what is unreasonable. Working by faith means that you are taking steps based on what God's word has set.

[4:20] So then, there are times, for instance, playing the guitar or playing an instrument. You were trained to play it. You know how to do it. You don't say, I know, I want to depend on the Bible to play it.

[4:32] What has that got? The Bible has not said anything contrary to that. Or there's nothing you are doing that is contrary to what scripture is saying. But if there is one way of doing things, and scripture is also showing another way, then those who walk by faith do it based on scripture.

[4:53] So you may not be well, and a Christian may not be well. Not a Christian. Somebody walking by faith may not be well. Another ordinary person may not be well. And they all go to the GP, and the GP gives them prescription.

[5:06] They are all taking their prescription. But the one walking by faith, even though he's taking prescription, he knows that he's healed. He knows not just because of the medication, but God is there, my healer.

[5:18] Do you understand? There are two different things. So being, walking by faith does not mean ignoring all signs and warnings. It just means that you know what God has said is true, and what God has said concerning your life is what will happen.

[5:34] That's what. So you can't walk by faith if you don't have a word from God. That's why in Romans 10, 17 says, Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

[5:45] Because you cannot walk by faith without the word of God. And this is a year of faith. You'll be hearing all kinds of things. Job 22, 23. When men are cast down, then thou shalt see there is a lifting up.

[6:00] And he shall save the humble person. So, someone will say, I'm walking by faith. But it's not actually actively and consciously living based on God's word.

[6:15] It may be living based on assumption and hope. I hope that. I hope no. There's a difference between hope and faith. Hope is pointing to the future.

[6:29] Faith is pointing to now. Hebrews 11, 1. It said, now. Faith is. Not faith will be.

[6:40] Not faith was. Faith is. What is faith? It is the substance of things hoped for.

[6:54] So, there's one thing you are hoping. But faith reaches out into the future. What you are hoping for. And brings it so close into the now.

[7:05] And you begin to see the reality of what has physically not yet happened. So, you are walking in the reality of something that is yet to happen.

[7:15] Or that is yet to be manifested outwardly. Outwardly. That's when a Christian may not be. A believer may not be feeling well. But can still be saying that Jesus is my healer.

[7:29] And I'm well. Jesus is my healer. Even though you are still sick. You're still saying. And you're still not just saying. But you believe it. And you're convinced that Jesus is my healer. You can't be walking by faith and die.

[7:40] Anyone who walks by faith walks on water. He said, Peter. He said, if it is you. Bid me to come. Matthew 14, 28.

[7:51] Jesus said, come. And Peter started walking on the water. But when he took his eyes off. And he began to walk by sight. He looked at the storms. The storms are there.

[8:01] They won't stop. But they can't stop you. The storms may be stopping others. But minus you. So he lifted his face. Took his eyes.

[8:13] Took his eyes off Jesus. And started. Bible said, when he saw. And when he saw that the wind was boisterous.

[8:27] He was afraid. I'm telling you. You'll see some boisterous winds around. Sometimes when you listen to the news. It's going to put more fear in you. And sometimes you need to also be aware of what is going on.

[8:39] So you're watching. But it's more fear. More fear. Faith is not against reason. Faith itself is reasonable. And the reason of faith is that God said it.

[8:52] So you have a reason to hook. Or latch your confidence towards the future on that. I can't be worried. Yeah. Though I walk.

[9:03] Through the valley of the shadow of death. I fear no evil. Why? For thou art with me. Shout hallelujah. Hallelujah. So that is. Faith. Comes in.

[9:14] When there's. You can't do anything about it. But at least you know God has done something about it. So you choose to hook. Your confidence. On what God has done. In.

[9:27] Malachi chapter 3 verse. 18. Then you shall.

[9:39] You shall again. Discend between the righteous. And the wicked. Between the one who. Serves God. And the one who does not serve him. Time is coming where you can tell that this person is walking with God.

[9:54] Psalm 91 verse 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12. It says that a thousand may fall at your side. Ten thousands at your right hand.

[10:07] That means it's so close to you. Ten thousands. A lot. How many of you know ten thousands is a lot? They are all. Ten thousands. So close. People. Everybody around is.

[10:18] Ten thousands. At your. At your right hand. Ten thousands. Sometime ago when I was studying the scripture.

[10:28] But I said. If it's at your right hand. It's already near you. Nothing has come near you. He said it shall not come. In other words. It shall not be your portion. You shall not suffer what people around you.

[10:41] Everybody around you is suffering. Now this is where faith comes in. So even in the face of danger. You know that you are covered. You take precaution.

[10:54] And know that your confidence is not in your precaution. But your confidence is in the Lord. Do you understand that? You have to do what you have to do. And leave the rest for God.

[11:06] So let's do what we have to do by virtue of responsibility. Let's do what we have to do. You can't be a mother or a father. Or you can't be a parent. And say that I know.

[11:18] You say a lot of children are not doing well. You can't guarantee who your child will even fall in love with. Hey. When you are walking by faith. You talk the word of God.

[11:29] And you put your confidence in God. Not in systems. Because he said. Thousands shall fall by thy side. Ten thousands by thy right hand. But it shall not come near you.

[11:41] Why don't you latch on that? What do you lose in trusting God? What do you lose? You have everything to gain. And nothing to lose.

[11:53] It's only the worldly who will talk you down. And intimidate you. And please if you are trusting God. Do it well. Because faith works by righteousness. Yeah.

[12:05] You can't be saying. I believe in God. And so you are lying. And living a wrong life. Bad life. And then Jesus said. I also condemn you. Go and see no more. Yeah. So. When you are living against the principles of God.

[12:19] Which you know you shouldn't. Then you open up yourself. Bible said. He who breaks the hedge. A serpent shall bite. The serpent is coming to bite you. And say. Oh. Me. I'm covered. I'm not covered.

[12:29] Because you've broken a hedge. He who breaketh and hedge. A serpent. Who bites. I am preaching faith.

[12:41] And how you do it. Now the choice is yours. Psalm 91. I'm saying. Only with you. Verse 9. Yeah. Because you have made the Lord. Who is my refuge.

[12:53] Even the most high. Your dwelling place. Okay. So. No. Go back. Verse 9. Because thou hast made the Lord. Who is my refuge. Even thy dwelling place. Yes.

[13:04] No. I like that one. Someone say. No evil. No evil. No evil shall. No evil shall befall you.

[13:15] Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling. Amen. The sun shall not smite it by day. Nor the moon by night.

[13:26] He shall preserve your soul. Even forevermore. Yeah. The sun shall not smite thee by day.

[13:38] Nor the moon by night. The Lord. The Lord shall preserve thee from all. Oh. Oh. Believer. Go back to these scriptures.

[13:50] And hang your faith on it. Just. You don't need too many scriptures. Even this alone. It's powerful. Now. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil. He shall preserve thy soul.

[14:01] Is this not something. What else can this mean? What. Take it raw. And swallow it all. That's medication.

[14:12] Take it raw. Let me finish. I'm 91. Verse 11. For he shall give. Oh. To keep you in all your ways.

[14:24] Let's look at the last verse. Verse 12. I like it. Very powerful. In their hands they shall bear thee up. Okay. They shall bear you up. Lest you dash your foot against a stone.

[14:35] It's the next verse I'm looking for. Watch this. You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra. The long lion and the serpent. You shall trample down. Where people are in danger.

[14:46] You just. Just. Just. Just. Just be walking like cats. Walk. Why? You didn't know. You passed and later on they told you there were cobras. They said really? And I walked there and said. We don't know why he didn't catch you.

[14:57] Are you sure? You are not beaten? No. No. Wow. Then they remember the scripture. I shall walk upon cobras. The next verse. Because. He has set his love upon me.

[15:09] That's God is now talking. Because you have set your love upon God. Therefore. God will deliver you. He will set you on high. Because. You have known his name.

[15:22] Amen. Look at that. The next verse. He shall call upon me. And I will answer him. I will be with him. In trouble. And I will deliver him from. And honor him.

[15:33] The next verse. I think that should be the last one. That's the last one. With all. Let's all read it together. Now.

[15:43] With long life. I will satisfy him. And show him my salvation. Now. This is a faith. We are going to read it like faith. You don't. Don't read it. Confess it.

[15:53] And put your name. So. With long life. He shall satisfy me. And show me. And show me. His salvation. Let's confess it. Let's go. With long life.

[16:05] He shall satisfy me. And show me. Now. You have to say. With long life. God shall satisfy me. And show. Let's go. With long life. God shall satisfy me.

[16:17] And show me. His salvation. One more time. With long life. God shall satisfy me. And show me. For the last time. With long life. God shall satisfy me.

[16:27] And show me. Come on. Praise the name of the Lord. Praise the name of the Lord. Praise the name of the Lord. Praise the name of the Lord. Hallelujah. We thank God for using his servant.
