When God Gives Up On...Pt3

[0:00] Thank you for choosing to listen to today's message by Reverend Dr. David Etchell. We know you will be blessed as you seek and serve God. We believe that this message will stir up a desire for more of God even as you listen.

[0:13] Be blessed. I spoke about pleasure, selfishness, and evil of materialism.

[0:26] The material things, chasing material, they actually love things more than people. They love things more than people. They can kill you over a parking lot.

[0:39] Now, I get to me. They love things more than they love people. They will destroy you so they can have what they want. They will destroy you to have. It's a sign.

[0:50] And when it's not just one person, it's human nature. But it is becoming a norm, like pornography. As I said, you are not better than you think you are.

[1:02] You are far less important than you think you are. So am I. Far less important than I think. In your eyes, you are such a nice person. You are trying to do everything right. But in God's eyes, you are a villain.

[1:13] You are a wicked sinner. Who needs to be rescued? Because you are being conditioned to bend against God. If we don't keep you just naturally, it's just like when you don't bath.

[1:26] You smell. It doesn't matter how expensive your perfumes are. If you don't wash, you will smell. It gets to a time where the corners in your body, the smell overtakes everything.

[1:37] Everything. When you pass, a whirlwind has passed once. We are humans. We all need God.

[1:50] So materialism. People's values based on the kind of designer they are wearing. It's a sign. It's a sign.

[2:02] Materialism. Number four. Did I say immorality? Yes. All right. Immorality. Evil behavior. We look at children, insulting, teachers, fighting. And it's like cats are crossed the board.

[2:15] Immoral behavior. When you watch, I've never watched some, but I'm told that when you watch stuff, like, you know, they normally, they used to, I don't know if they still do it, show on certain channels.

[2:27] People, Saturday night, party. It's like a documentary or they show, they've gone to Philippines, they've got B5, you see people drunk on the streets and girls.

[2:39] Yeah. It is now more common. More common. It's more common. More people are doing it. And it's like, what's wrong?

[2:51] It's becoming more common. Immorality. It's so, a lot of you, everybody here, definitely, everybody here, at least 98% of us here, you know somebody who is living with somebody, they are not married, but they are living together.

[3:07] You know them. There are no fire everywhere. All around us. It's so normal. But in those days, things were decent. You definitely know, and some of you used to be living with people.

[3:20] You used to, at 1 Corinthians chapter 6, verse 9, it says, which some of you used to be. Do not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God.

[3:32] Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor adulators, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomized, nor thieves, nor covertures, nor rivalries, nor extortionists.

[3:43] 419. Thin and extortionists. We will inherit the kingdom of God. You see? See the first statement. And such were some of you, but you were watched.

[3:56] That's what you used to be. You used to be. Such were some of you. Only God knows the things you have done. Such were some of you.

[4:07] But God has in Africa. You are now washed. Say, I'm washed. I'm washed. I am washed. By the blood of the Lamb. Are you learning something?

[4:18] Yes. Number five was the loss of respect for authority. I mean, obviously how regular it is. If you are here, you don't talk to your mother.

[4:31] You are in trouble. If you are here, you don't talk to your father. You hate him. And you don't care. I'm telling you, it will catch up with you. If you fight your mother, life will fight you.

[4:43] But my mother is a devil. Still, you don't have what it takes to fight her. If you fight, your father was not there. Look at what he put your mother through. You don't approve of it. But you know what? It's not your battle.

[4:54] You can't fight it. Just give him his place. Like, that's the man through whom I was born. Even though he raped my man. And then that's the man. And then just... It doesn't mean he's your friend and he's always nice.

[5:04] No. But you can't attack him. Disobedience to parents. It's not one of the signs. For men will be lovers of themselves. Did you see that? Lovers of money.

[5:16] Boasters. Proud. Blasphemers. Disobedient to parents. Unthankful and unholy. Look at where he put disobedience to parents. And you are screaming in church.

[5:27] Oh, gee. He says, so there's me. But my mother is... I don't... I hate. Please, don't do it. Your mother can be so hateful. Annoying. But change and say... Don't even...

[5:38] Don't allow yourself to pick. A quarrel with your mother. Because it works against you. It works against you. So you are praying for you. But you are not doctors. Every week they say something new about you.

[5:49] Every month. And you don't know that it's your mother the thing. Because honor your mother and your father. Ephesians chapter 6 verse 2. Honor your mother and your father. That it might be well with you. That you might live long actually.

[6:01] So when people die midway. Sometimes it's a problem. You cut off your short. Your life short. He says that... That it might be well with you. And you may live long on this earth.

[6:14] It's not prayer that makes you live long. It's not fasting that makes you live long. Jesus fasted 40 days. He died early. Because of his assignment.

[6:30] It is not fasting and prayer that makes you live long. But it is your honor. To your mother and father. Anybody who plays a motherly role in your life. Anybody who plays a fatherly role.

[6:41] One of the things you should try. Some of us. We have different families. So we can't just say everybody is okay with your family. But some of the hurts. It's so deep. It will take the Holy Spirit to heal you.

[6:52] Alright. And that's what you have to pray about. Holy Spirit help me to forgive my dad. When you even remember it. You get angry. A dad who abused you. And it has affected you so much.

[7:04] And how can you forgive him? The Holy Spirit can help you to forgive him. Because if you are not able to forgive him. You have broken the bridge over which you will cross one day.

[7:15] Unforgiveness. Unforgiveness is like drinking poison for your enemy to die. So set yourself free. It's hard. But that's why don't do it in the arm of the flesh.

[7:26] Depend on the Holy Spirit. Believe God for the Holy Spirit. Because some of the things that some of us might have been through is heartbreaking. Just that you have never spoken about it.

[7:37] You have been abused. That's why the government has to put in laws to protect children. That's why if their conscience will not work. And their conscience will not work. The word of God will not work.

[7:48] Then the law of the land must work to protect people. So all these things are put in place by God to protect. And then the final thing as I told you. The word. The message of the church.

[8:01] Let me add one more. Oh you like this one. Deadly anger. Anger. Self control used to be value.

[8:12] A great value. How many of you know that? Those time when you are. But no. Psychologists say no. You have the right to express yourself. You have the right. Just be yourself. People have the right to be angry.

[8:24] People have the right to do what they want. To react. The way they want to react. People have the right. Allow them. Leave it. Let it. Our best of anger is a curtain across all the parts of society.

[8:39] People get angry anytime. They can get angry fighting on the road. Road rage. You are free to be angry. You have the right to be angry. So anger is not controlled.

[8:52] Yeah. Self control is now gone. You don't get praised for your self control. You came to church. Someone has upset you. And just contrary. Walk away. You don't get praised for it.

[9:03] Yeah. I've told her something. I will. Yeah. Wait. At the next. Can I add the next one? The next one which I want to say is vengeance. These video games. The movies.

[9:13] It's most of the people see it acted in movies and they feel they can also do it. Pow. Pow. Pow. Pow. Yeah. It can come to you and look at your face and fire gun. Pow. Pow. What generation is it?

[9:26] There's nothing you can do about it. You can save the generation. You can save individuals. Yeah. And God is more interested in the salvation of a soul than the whole world. Because he didn't die to save everybody.

[9:37] Because then no one will go to hell. He's saved. Yeah. Because hell will glorify God. Heaven will glorify God. Hell will at least let people know God is a God of justice.

[9:49] All the things they have done. God will show that I can punish. Yeah. He has to. He has to. Because a judge who cannot sentence is not a good judge. Yeah. So God must glorify his justice.

[10:01] His attributes as a God of justice. Justice. To execute punishment on those who hate God. 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 verse 8.

[10:11] 7, 8 and 9. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way.

[10:23] So we, the church, will be taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed. That's the Antichrist. Whom the Lord will consume with the breath of his mouth and destroy with the brightness of his coming.

[10:37] And next verse. The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan. With all power, sight, and lying on this.

[10:49] Go to chapter 1. And to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven. With his mighty angels.

[11:02] Look at this. To do what? With his mighty angels. In flaming fire. Taking vengeance. Vengeance. Taking vengeance on those who do not know God. And on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

[11:15] He is coming himself to take vengeance on them. Yeah. Verse 9. This shall be punished with how long? Everlasting distraction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of his power.

[11:29] He's coming. He's going to execute. That shows that God is old. When you see some God, people are burning in hell and you see the justice of God. Oh, we worship your holiness.

[11:40] You are so holy. You can't stand it. You can't stand filth. So, it will be a display of his glory which provokes honor. And those of us who make it into heaven.

[11:51] It's not because we are so clean, but because of his mercy. So, we also be thanking him for it. So, everything is to his glory. If Adam and Eve had not sinned, how would you have known that God is a redeemer?

[12:02] How would God have been able to demonstrate to the angels who have always known him, been with him? How would he have been able to demonstrate the fact that he's a God of mercy? He's a God who forgives.

[12:14] So, Adam's sin was for the glory of God. So, when we go to heaven, it says that, Where thee is the Lamb. We are seated on the throne. The Lamb is the one who died to save us.

[12:25] You have redeemed us from Revelation chapter 5 verse 10. For you have redeemed us and made us kings and priests. You have made us kings and priests. Verse 9. And they sang a new song saying, You are worthy to take the scroll and to open the seals thereof.

[12:39] For you were slain. That's killed. Because you were slain. And with your blood, you purchased men for God from every tribe, every tongue, every people, and every nation.

[12:50] And you have made us kings. And they lifted their voice and they were blessing and worshipping God for what he has done. How would they have been able to worship God in this respect if he had not saved them? Much of our worship in heaven is around salvation and the Lamb.
