The Bible tells us that God is near to all those who call upon His name in truth. This means that as a believer you must learn how to cry out to God, how to pray an effective prayer. There are factors and conditions for answered prayers, so It is important that every believer knows these keys to effective prayer.
[0:00] Thank you for choosing to listen to today's message by Reverend Dr. David Etrie. We know you will be blessed as you seek and serve God. We believe that this message will stir up a desire for more of God even as you listen.
[0:13] Be blessed. Last Sunday, I attempted to teach. Actually, I didn't even teach it at all because I ended up talking about for whoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
[0:27] Lord Jesus! Because God is near to all those who call on him. According to Psalm 145 verse 18, he is near to those who call on him.
[0:43] The Lord is nigh unto all those, all them that call upon him, that call out in truth. He is near. So when you learn how to call on his name, you draw him closer to yourself.
[0:57] The Bible says that from that time onwards, Genesis 24, 26, from that time onwards, men began to call on the name of the Lord.
[1:09] Genesis 24, 26. Yeah, sorry.
[1:20] Genesis 4, 26. Yeah. From that time, men began to, and he called, and then men began to call upon the name of the, from the time of, you know. Men have been calling on the name of the Lord and it doesn't cease.
[1:33] And as I told you, one of the major things that must characterize believers is we call upon his name. Learn how to cry unto God. Before you call unto others, call on his name.
[1:46] Before you make your case to others, make your case to God. And thus, as we entered the week, I just, we've been praying and praying and fasting and have you noticed that fasting brings a lot of solutions?
[2:02] You see, one thing I've understood about the things of God is that unbelief does not threaten God. Unbelief just excludes men. Unbelief does not threaten God, but it excludes men.
[2:18] Unbelief does not threaten God. I've been talking about prayer because when you pray, things happen. When believers pray, things happen.
[2:29] Jesus himself said in the book of Matthew chapter 21, verse 22, that when you pray, believe in, whatsoever you ask in prayer, believe in, you shall receive.
[2:43] It looks like it hasn't actually done on most of us well. Whatsoever you ask in prayer, believe in, you shall receive. You shall receive.
[2:57] If you can pray about it and believe the prayer you are praying, Jesus said, I give it my back and it will happen. Amen. I don't know what is going on in your life that is a stubborn situation that wants to hurt you.
[3:18] It is crying out for prayer. Talk to God. Now, the devil, I said, Satan doesn't mind prayers.
[3:32] He just hates Christian prayers. So all other prayers, Satan does not mind. Satan doesn't mind at all. Pray as much as you can.
[3:44] But if you are going to be a Christian and pray, Satan hates it. Because it's only the Christian prayer that can deal with Satan's situation. What makes Christian prayers different?
[4:00] It is the Christ in our prayers. The Christ in our prayers is what makes the Christian prayers very different. Five things, Christ's things that make Christian prayers different.
[4:15] I told you already. Number one, it is the teachings of Jesus.
[4:26] So the teachings of Jesus, we pray based on what he has taught us. Jesus taught his disciples to pray. He said, when you pray, pray after this manner.
[4:37] Our father, it starts with the father. And it ends with the devil. Pray our father.
[4:49] Who art in heaven. Hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth. He taught us to pray. He is the greatest teacher who ever lived.
[5:02] All other teachers make references to him. See your teachers I'm talking about. Who lived after he came. They make references to him. Prophets make references to him.
[5:14] Nobody can fault any statement Jesus ever made. Nobody can fault. His teachings were above ordinary human thinking.
[5:27] Actually, he is the magister veritatis. The master of the truth. He is the original teacher.
[5:40] So everything Jesus taught was exceptional. And we pray based on the greatest teacher's teachings. It makes our prayer higher.
[5:52] We have an upper hand. So the teachings of Jesus and then the example of Jesus. Jesus was always praying. He prayed everywhere.
[6:04] He prayed anytime he was about to make any major decision. Before a major step in his life, when he was being baptized, he prayed. When he was about to start his ministry, he prayed.
[6:15] When he was about to choose his disciples, he prayed. When he was about to go to the cross, he prayed. On that cross, he prayed. Jesus was always praying. Anytime he was about to do a miracle, he prayed. When there's a crowd, sometimes he would draw himself to go and pray.
[6:27] A long while before the day, he goes to pray. Everywhere he was praying. Jesus prayed everywhere. So the Bible also says that pray without season. You know you can pray even when you are asleep.
[6:38] I spoke about that yesterday. Pray without season doesn't mean always you are maybe. You don't. See, prayer doesn't always require kneeling down.
[6:49] Even though kneeling down is a pusher of prayer. You can be driving and praying. You can be cooking and praying. Ironing and praying. You can always.
[7:00] The Bible says pray without season. So it doesn't mean you are always only one place and just doing whatever you have to do. No. You can be doing other things and praying. You can actually be asleep. And your spirit is.
[7:12] Because you can be asleep and your spirit is awake. He said, even though I sleep. Songs of Solomon chapter 5 verse 2. Even though I sleep, my heart is awake.
[7:24] I sleep but my heart is awake. So even in your sleep, your heart can be engaged in prayer. Your mind may not be fruitful.
[7:34] Your mind may be fruitless. But your heart can be busy in prayer. Praise the Lord. It's so important to understand. So the teachings of Jesus.
[7:46] The examples of Jesus. And then the blood of Jesus. That's what authorizes us to come boldly. The blood of Jesus.
[7:57] The blood of Jesus. So those of us, when you sin, when you go off, when you break the law of God, there's blood to cleanse you to come back. So you can enter boldly.
[8:08] The blood of Jesus. And then the intercession of Jesus. So number one, the teaching. Number two, the example. Number three, the blood. Number four, the intercession. According to Hebrews chapter 7, 25.
[8:19] He maketh intercession. So as we are praying to God, he's also praying on our behalf. He's interceding on our behalf. It makes Christian prayers unique. And then finally, the name of Jesus.
[8:32] So whatever you ask in my name, I will do it. And I went on to talk about the conditions, necessary conditions for effective prayers. For answered prayers.
[8:42] Conditions that must be in place for your prayers to be answered. If these conditions are not in place, you will pray and you will see the answers. It doesn't matter who you are. So conditions for answered prayers.
[8:55] Factors that guarantee answers in your prayers. Factors. Conditions for answered prayers. Hallelujah. And I think on Thursday, I spoke.
[9:06] Was it on Thursday or the Friday day or what? But I gave you one that it must be, as I mentioned already, in the name of Jesus. Don't pray. Don't pray. Don't pray without going in his name.
[9:19] Because God only will answer requests that are made in the name of Jesus. Does that make sense? So Bible says that my God shall supply all your needs.
[9:31] Philippians chapter 4 verse 19. My God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory through Christ Jesus. So if Christ is not in place, forget it.
[9:42] God can't do it outside of Christ. Second chapter 1 verse 20. All the promises of God are in him, are ye, and in him, amen. So every promise that God has made, it takes effect in him.
[9:55] In him are ye, and in him, amen. Bible says that in Romans chapter 8 verse 32. If he did not spare his son, but gave him up for her, how much more, this is very important.
[10:08] How shall he not with him? Say with him. With him. Oh, some of you. I told you, you have to speak. All right. With him. You are saying what the Bible is saying. Say with him.
[10:18] With him. All right. Let's all read for this on the screen together. Let's go. Let's go. He has spared not his own son. You are speaking God's word. He carries power. Let's go. He has spared not his own son, but delivered him up for us.
[10:32] How shall he not with him also with him? How shall he not with him? And so, God can freely do the other things with him.
[10:44] If he's not in your life, God can do it. With him. He freely gives everything to us.
[10:54] Jesus, as I taught you, just for three years, he was with his disciples, and he was teaching them. He taught them how to pray. He taught them how to pray, interestingly, he didn't teach them how to preach.
[11:09] He taught them how to pray, not how to preach. Jesus taught his disciples several things. He was always teaching. He was always teaching.
[11:19] He was always teaching. He was always teaching them. In fact, some of the opening teachings in Matthew chapter 5 is called theological. The beatitude. Blessed are the weak.
[11:29] Blessed are the peacemakers. Blessed are the hunger and thirst. Blessed are you. Blessed are you. Blessed are you. Blessed are you. Blessed are you. Blessed are you. And then from there, he began to teach. Let your light shine. He began to teach them several things. From chapter 5 all the way through chapter 7.
[11:42] He was teaching. Chapter 7 verse 7. He said, ask and you shall receive. Seek and you shall find. Chapter 7 verse 13. He talks about the narrow way and the broad way. Chapter 7 verse 21. He said, many shall say, Lord, Lord.
[11:53] I will cast them down. He said, not all who say, Lord, Lord, shall enter. He taught them so many things. And he did. There's one thing he never mentioned until the last night of his life on earth. Last night on his life on earth.
[12:06] That night, he mentioned that five times in his teaching. But why didn't he teach it all this while? That was crucial. And you know what it is? As I taught you, he said, in the name.
[12:17] So, in John chapter 14, verse 14 and 13. 13 and 14. He said, whatsoever you ask in my name. The name of. Somebody say the name of Jesus.
[12:28] Say the name of Jesus. grosso ewe oas. 3. Romans 14. Whatsoever you ask in my name, the father will do. In chapter 15 verse 16. Whatsoever you ask in my name, the father will do. Chapter 16 verse 23. Whatsoever you ask in my name, the father will do.
[12:41] Chapter 16 verse 26. Whatsoever you ask in my name, the father will do. So he was talking about you coming to the Father, approaching the Father in his name. So the name of Jesus is a fundamental requirement, a fundamental necessity for God to answer prayers.
[13:03] Without the name, God is not authorized to act on your behalf. He said, come in my name. Go to the Father in my name.
[13:15] Whatsoever you ask in my name. So someone say the name of Jesus. I remember in Acts chapter 3, they were going to the place of prayer from one.
[13:28] The Bible says that Peter and John asked, they went to the time of prayer, they were going to pray. They met the scrimple at the beautiful gate, and then the man asked them for arms and money. And the verse 6 says, silver and gold have I not none, such as I have given thee.
[13:42] In the name of Jesus. They call on the name of Jesus over him. And everything changed from that time. And so when they were being persecuted for healing the sick, they were being questioned.
[13:54] Peter said that faith in his name. In his name. Through faith in his name has made this man whole. Whom you see. All of you. I think chapter 3 verse 14 somewhere there.
[14:06] Or chapter 4 verse 13. So the name of Jesus is a necessary requirement for answered prayers. Number two, the word of God. The word of God.
[14:17] You can't pray and be expressing just your wishes. No. Prayer is not an expression of wish. Prayer is going back to God, asking him something based on what his word has said.
[14:29] So it's like you go to court, you are going to defend a case. You must know the law. You have to use the law to defend your case. It's not just morals.
[14:43] Oh, it's just nice. It's nice to judge. It's nice to do. No. I know it's nice to do. Do you know people can commit crime and yet because they had a good lawyer, they escaped judgment?
[14:54] And everybody knows, in fact, the judge, everybody knows that this is the crime. But if they have a good lawyer who can argue the case from the document, from the law. And so you go to God with his word.
[15:10] Anytime you knock on God's door, just before he sends, he sends the angel to open, or we have to before he gets opened. As soon as he opens, what word are you coming? You have to say, who is that?
[15:22] I'm coming in the name of Jesus. You don't need to know me, but I'm just coming in the name of Jesus. You know, the sons of Skiva in Acts chapter 19, they try to cast out devils.
[15:33] They realize that the name was working, but they didn't have authorization to use the name. Satan whacked them. Satan, the demons whacked them. They understand that. So he says, they ask, I'm coming in the name of Jesus Christ.
[15:45] Anyway, for your information, I'm David Aintree. I live in London, and I'm coming in the name of Jesus. Oh, yeah, yeah. The next thing is, what word are you coming on? What's the basis of yourself? My neighbors are not nice at all.
[15:57] Some of you, your neighbors can never follow you to church. Because you're always quarreling. You're always fighting your neighbors. They are not a nice testimony to our church at all.
[16:08] Over parking space. So, you go, oh, Lord, it's David.
[16:22] Yeah, what word, what basis are you coming? And say, I haven't been able to pay my rent, so God, I'm really sad. No, it doesn't work in heaven.
[16:34] Your feelings don't work without a word. If you have a word, you come in, and now he can be touched by the feelings of our infirmities. But just your feeling, just that someone is suffering in Somalia, doesn't mean that God is just obliged to do something.
[16:54] Just that somebody's health is under threat, doesn't mean God has to be called. Then he has to go and live in the hospital. God has to go to that. No one should be sick.
[17:04] But it's part of life. He will not interact with life. Those who say, if there is God, why are people so evil? If he has to start dealing with people, he would have started with you.
[17:19] One day you'll be watching the pornography and he'll say, hey, I'm the Lord. And when you get to say, if there is God, why?
[17:33] He should have started with you. But Bible says he's slow to anger. He's wishing that you repent. So he's giving you enough room to repent. One day he's going to judge you. Last Friday I said something very strong about fathers who abandon their children and their mother.
[17:53] And they know that these people are suffering. They don't care. And they are living their life anyhow. God will judge them. Last Friday I said God will punish them.
[18:08] No, today is Sunday. So let me say judge. I'm just trying to tell somebody. You have left that room. I know you don't like her because she's too cantankerous and all that.
[18:20] But be responsible. Care about their children. Anyway, let me leave that. Let me leave that. So God will judge one day. But until then, he has left the world to be running.
[18:32] And he only shows himself strong in the behalf of those whose hearts are right towards him. So when you call on his name, he doesn't react until someone calls.
[18:44] Heaven doesn't move until there is prayer on earth. So you who are questioning God, the thing you are complaining about, Have you prayed about it?
[18:56] And if you prayed about it, on what basis in the word did you pray? What was the word basis? What was the word basis you prayed on?
[19:06] And if you prayed on the word, did you believe that? Were you trying God? You were trusting him. So our prayers must be based on the word of God.
[19:20] And then number three. I said, what was the number three point I gave? Praise. Philippians chapter 4 verse 6. It says that, Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer.
[19:34] Tell someone, we got to pray. We got to pray. We got to pray. In everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving. So thanksgiving is the send button.
[19:45] You can type all that email until you press the send. It's not going. I have typed emails before and I forgot to send it. And then later on, I said, I sent you an email.
[19:57] I said, I sent. Then I go and realize, oh, I didn't send it. How many of you have experienced that before? Yeah. So when you pray and you don't say thank you, you don't have a heart of thanks to God.
[20:10] Even prayer is a, to pray is a big privilege. So if God has given you this big privilege to pray, you should back it with thanksgiving. So without thanks and praise, our prayers can't go because Bible says, Enter his courts with thanksgiving.
[20:27] Enter his gates with thanksgiving. Psalm 100 verse 4. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and into his courts with praise. Number four.
[20:40] We have to pray without condemnation or come boldly to God. Satan likes condemning people. And Satan will not let you off the hook because of what you know you have done.
[20:53] People may not know what you have done. But God knows it. You know it. Satan knows it. And Satan, anytime you try to move a bit towards God, Satan is the accuser according to Revelation chapter 12.
[21:08] He said, no, this one, you cannot be forgiven. You, you are a bad person. That's why sometimes people come to church, we lift our hands, they don't feel like, they don't feel worthy enough to lift their hands.
[21:18] Now, what's the solution to that? I told you the blood of Jesus works. Ask for forgiveness. Repent from your sins. And right there, you are forgiven. Now, watch this. According to 1 John chapter 1 verse 9, he said, if we confess our sins, he's faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
[21:35] So you are fine once you confess your sins. But Satan still wants to use your guilty conscience against you. So most of the time, the problem is not with God, but the problem is our guilt.
[21:48] Because you think that God hasn't forgiven you enough. Religion will tell you that you have to be punished. You have to punish yourself before God has forgiven you. Because of what you have done, you have to crawl. You have to go.
[21:58] Those times they used to do penance. You have to crawl on a hard surface. Not crawl. Kneel and be walking on a hard surface for a long time. And you sustain bruises.
[22:09] A lot of bruises. Because what you have done, you must feel punished. Your flesh needs to be punished. You need to suffer. That is Satan's doctrine. The suffering God has reserved is hell.
[22:25] Hell is real. Hell is real. And hell is not made just for people who are bad or people who are good.
[22:36] Hell is made for people, all human beings who are not the sons of God. First of all, for devils. First of all, for devils. And they're the human beings who are not the sons of God.
[22:48] Because the Bible says that for all have sinned. None of us is perfect. So it's just like a rubbish dump. Everything that is not good. Let's just clear it. Another question that people ask.
[23:01] But if God is so loving, why should he punish people? God is loving. And God is also just.
[23:13] God is holy. And God is merciful. He's angry. So if God does not punish sin, it questions his holiness.
[23:30] I gave this illustration where maybe a neighbor has seen someone murder. Somebody has seen someone murder his neighbor.
[23:41] He saw it. He saw it. And he filmed it. And he goes to court. And he goes to testify that this person killed my neighbor and his old, three children and their wife. Killed all of them.
[23:51] And then the man who says, I didn't know I should do that. Please forgive me. And then the judge says, you know what? I know you are guilty, but I'm a man of love. So, you know, let him go.
[24:03] Let's send him to the community. Go and live your life. You will think, you are a man of love. But are you a judge? Do you have any sense of justice? What this person has done?
[24:14] How can you say he should go in the name of love? Love does not trump justice. Justice must be saved. So, God, people go to heaven not because they are faultless.
[24:28] They go to heaven because Jesus took their place. The vicarious death. The anger of God was put on him so that we can walk free. The anger of God is there. That is all. It's not because of our good behavior, but because of our belief in what God has done.
[24:44] That's why we go to heaven. So, heaven has not got to do with behavior. Because no religion can guarantee forgiveness of sin. If you ask every religion, they can guarantee forgiveness of sin.
[24:56] Islam will tell you we are not sure. It's only Jesus who can give forgiveness of sins because he was God on earth. So, when you sin, you can come to Jesus.
[25:09] You can come to God and repent and ask for forgiveness of sins. Watch this. In the name of Jesus. Without the name of Jesus, God does not have any grounds to forgive.
[25:20] Because blessings of God is not a function of merit. It's a function of mercy. And mercy trumps over judgment. Okay.
[25:31] So, now, if God is going to let a thief or let a guilty person let you off the hook, on what grounds is God going to let you off the hook? On the grounds that Jesus has paid the debt.
[25:42] And then he lets you off the hook. So, if you don't come in the name of Jesus and his blood, according to Ephesians chapter 1, I think verse 7, it talks about how we have forgiveness of sins.
[25:55] In whom we have redemption through his blood. The forgiveness of sins according to the riches of his grace. So, in Christ, we have forgiveness of sins. Outside of Christ, it's not guaranteed.
[26:09] And so, now, you come without condemnation. According to Hebrews, when you are praying, you should come boldly to the throne of grace.
[26:20] Boldly. Hebrews chapter 4 verse 16. It says, therefore, let us come boldly to the throne of grace. And so, one, let's go back again. Number one, the necessary conditions or necessary factors for answers to our prayers.
[26:34] Number one is what? I can't hear. Number one. The name of Jesus. Number one. The name of Jesus. Number two. The Lord of God. Number three.
[26:45] Praise. Praise. Thanks and praise. Number four. Without condemnation or boldness. Okay. Number five. Motives. Right motives.
[26:57] You can't come and be asking God to do something because you are just trying to spite another person. Because you are just, I mean, how can you be asking God to give you somebody's husband?
[27:13] And you are asking it in the name of Jesus. In the name of Jesus. I claim this woman's husband. In the name of Jesus. You are a witch. It's a witch. Praise God.
[27:28] So, you can't say in the name of Jesus, that car going, I claim it. I claim it. I claim it. It shall be for me. It shall be. That is covetousness.
[27:40] All right. So, now, it must be with the right motives. According to James chapter one, it said you pray and you do not receive because your motives are wrong. I like the NIV.
[27:50] NIV used the word motives. James chapter one, verse four. It says because you're of wrong motives. All right. And then the next point. Did I give you the next point?
[28:01] After motives. So, so far, how many points have I given you? Five. Did you say five or six? Five. Number six, righteousness. A righteous, sorry. I'm sorry.
[28:12] Number six is right relationships. This is so important. Right relationships. Yesterday, I met two gentlemen who are serving so well. They are making a difference in this church.
[28:24] Their level of dedication and sacrifice is very touching. And I was telling them that I know God is going to bless their families. Their children are going to benefit from their labors so much.
[28:38] I know it. God blesses generationally. Remember that. Anything you do for God, remember your children are going to also benefit. One of the nations that has served sent more missionaries into the whole world is Great Britain.
[28:56] It's Great Britain. That's why Great Britain has seen so much blessings on the land. So much blessings. And most of the blessings we have seen here, the forefathers of the land pay the price.
[29:08] And the children's children and children are enjoying. In the same way, as you serve God, he is going to bless you generationally. I like that testimony Reverend Frank was speaking about.
[29:21] That lady who came from a Muslim background, she said in her entire family, she is the first to encounter the true God. She is the first to encounter Jesus.
[29:35] And she has been baptized since she came to Caris. She has been baptized. And Pastor Frank said that now you have set a new course for your family. Because that course never existed.
[29:46] That track never existed. Now you have brought a new track. Others are going to follow suit. So when you become, when you do things for God and you serve God, you import certain things that were not part of your family blessings.
[30:01] You bring it on. And I was telling them that the way you are serving God, you watch what's going to happen in the life of your children. Then, then, I said, but make sure you take very good care of your wives.
[30:18] Men who don't treat their wives well always tend to suffer later in life. The secret of being a happy man is to learn how to treat, I'm not saying your girlfriend, your wife.
[30:33] There's a great difference between a girlfriend and a wife. They are all females. The difference between a girlfriend and a wife is a wife is someone you have vowed to stick with the rest of your life.
[30:46] A girlfriend you have not vowed, you just like her. And maybe she even takes care of you in a way that a wife doesn't. Yeah, she's been dancing.
[30:58] She's been dancing for you and you are enjoying it. Last Friday, I told the wives, wives, learn how to dance for your husbands. The dance is another level.
[31:11] And, and some of you wives were very cooperative girlfriends. You were. Until you became a wife. And you have become a menace on a man's hand.
[31:23] Well, if we can get special lenses and glasses to look at certain husbands, you can tell that they are so weak.
[31:42] Like, it's like they never eat. Immaciated. They have wives. So when they see other people going and say, oh my God, what a son chose me. What a son chose me.
[31:53] What a, it's their wife. Their wife is a wicked woman. Some of the wives, I'm telling you, they can be wicked.
[32:06] Their husband will starve all night. Two weeks. Three weeks. One man. I'm talking to you. One man. Three months. Three months.
[32:17] Three months. Three months. Three months. Three months. Three months. A married man has no eating. Three months. You are a wicked wife. Unless you are sick.
[32:35] No, for health reasons. But if you are not sick, even pregnant wives take care of their husbands. Wives pregnant in their third trimester.
[32:46] All the way to the end. All the way to the end. Your wife was, I'm telling you. I'm telling you. What? Hey. Please.
[33:01] Guys. Hear what I didn't say. I never said girlfriend. Ah. Thank you. Don't swear I've been eating from girlfriends. Ah. Ah. Ah. Ah. Ah. Ah. Ah. Ah. Ah. Ah. Ah. Ah. Ah. Ah. Ah.
[33:11] Ah. Ah. Ah. Ah. Ah. Ah. Ah. Ah. Ah. Ah. Ah. Ah. Ah. I'm not being Christian. You are wearing clothes you haven't paid for. Ah. Ah. Ah.
[33:21] Oh. Oh. You are wearing shoes you haven't paid. replcan. You go to the shop and then go to the dressing room and then go out. The tag is sounding but you don't know. Ah. We can tell that this man is wearing clothes he hasn't paid for.
[33:43] I know I'm talking to some of you. You see how God thinks about you. He's cares about you. But pastor, my girlfriend actually wants it more than me. It's you she wants. Don't say more than that.
[33:55] It's you she wants. Not your hunger. But some of them, the only way they can have you is just to serve you. Dance for you.
[34:09] All right. Okay, okay, okay, okay. Let's get serious. How did I even enter this wife? I was telling the guys that treat your wife well.
[34:23] If you are privileged to be married, treat the woman. Yeah, no, men and women are different when it comes to different. And even, I mean, if you and your twin brother or your twin sister are living in the house, there will be differences.
[34:36] How much more somebody who has been raised by completely different parents? Different parents and desire has brought you together. You realize that you are very different. A lot of things will be different.
[34:49] And so there will be some, but we grow together. I thank God for the life of Dr. Bassett and the wife. These are examples to us. Examples to us. Are you getting what I'm saying?
[35:03] All right, let me go back to the point. I told the gentleman that treat your wives well, other than that, it will be well with you. Even though you are serving God so well, if you don't treat your wife well, if a wife goes to bed all day, is thinking with pain, what this man is treating me?
[35:19] It's, you will die early. You, not the woman, the man. Many men who die early, check their records. They didn't treat some women well. I'm not saying all. Many.
[35:30] You check your, your uncle who died a long time ago. Check. Treat the woman in your life well.
[35:43] Now, even God, he said wrong relationships will block your prayers. Yeah. Yeah. So, if you are not relating right with your spouse, your prayers will not be answered.
[35:57] No, serious. God said, okay, who is it? It's David. No, I won't use mine because I tried my wife well. You are knocking. The angels come and check. Who is at the heavens, who is at the heavens doors? It's me, Mr. X.
[36:09] Oh, why are you coming? I'm coming in the name of Jesus. Oh, yeah, yeah, come in there now. I need, I need something done for me. What's the word basis? Oh, the Bible says that my God shall supply all my need. Oh, well, that's good.
[36:19] That's good. And why do you want the needs to be supplied? Because I actually want to live my life to the fullest and do God. That's great motives. They say, okay, they give you a take as well. And what's the other one? Condemnation. There's no condemnation.
[36:30] I've been relating right to Jesus. I've been born again and my sins are forgiven. No problem. And then they say, okay, how about your relation with your wife? Oh, that woman is a devil. And you know what?
[36:48] As soon as you said that woman is a devil, on the other side you hear, cool, cool. What's wrong? The line has been cut. You have lost connection.
[37:04] Your ill treatment of your husband or your... I don't understand women who are always in church. But they don't respect their husbands. And most of such women pray for long and pray a lot.
[37:18] But the prayer is just emotional exercise they are doing. It's not going to heaven. But much more, the men. And I told the men, the men, this man I was talking to, I said, treat your wives well.
[37:34] Let me give you a scripture. 1 Peter 3, verse 7. It said, 1 Peter 3, verse 7 says that... What's wrong? Okay. 1 Peter 3, verse 7 says that...
[37:46] Likewise, ye husbands dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honor to the wife, unto the wife, as unto the weaker verses.
[37:56] The feminists don't like this phrase, the weaker verses. The feminists have everything I hear. It's a sickness. So let's just focus on that. Sometimes you are not even free to...
[38:07] When I say, as soon as I say United Kingdom, feminists say, why? Why are you saying United Kingdom? It should be Queendom. You see. There's a problem. There's a problem. You see ghosts in everything.
[38:19] Anyway, so according to giving honor to the wives, as unto the weaker verses. The wives, the weaker verses. It doesn't mean women are weaker than men. Okay.
[38:30] But there's a way you treat a woman because actually, they're physically speaking. They are softer. A woman's... body.
[38:43] See how soft it is? Very soft. Oh, my God. Oh, my God. Oh, it's true. It's soft.
[38:55] The flesh. The flesh is soft. Soft. Soft. Soft. Soft. I don't know. But when it comes to...
[39:09] I'm about to drop something here. Don't miss this. Don't miss this. When it comes to sex, the men are weaker vessels. That's why most of the time, it's men who get into trouble with sex.
[39:30] It's not because they don't respect women. Politicians. Every now and then you hear, this guy has done this. How many female politicians you hear about this?
[39:41] How many female... But human beings are the same. Men and women. We are all not strong in some areas. But when it comes to men, when it comes to the issue of sex, they are so weak.
[39:52] So that's why a man has to be very careful where you allow yourself to hang around. Adam. Adam saw a woman. He said, oh, my God. That's a bone of my bone and a flesh of my flesh.
[40:04] He saw other animals. He said, no, this is a cow. No, this is a dog. This is a... As soon as he saw the woman, he said, oh, my God. He said, oh, my God. You come.
[40:16] How about you say? Adam was minding his business. And then God put him into induced coma. And then formed a woman.
[40:28] After he has named all the animals, according to Genesis chapter 2. And Bible said, and God brought the woman to Adam. To see... As soon as Adam saw... As soon as Adam...
[40:42] As soon as Adam saw...
[40:53] Adam was minding his business. And then... Adam was... I'm sure Adam was reading his Bible.
[41:07] You didn't hear what I said. You didn't hear what I said. I said, I'm sure Adam was reading his Bible. Because he just woke up from his...
[41:20] And then he's heard some footsteps. So he took another animal to name. So be walking. Just be walking. A woman. Adam...
[41:32] Adam left. And... And then...
[41:47] And then... The way Adam was distracted... God brought... The woman to Adam. Adam said, this is a bone of my bone. And the flesh of... Adam could not resist...
[41:58] The attraction of the woman. He has never sinned. He has never... He was walking with God. God comes to have a conversation...
[42:09] And have tea with him. And even that... The power of a woman. You. You keep watching pornography.
[42:19] You end up cheating on your wife.
[42:36] When it comes to sex... Men are the weaker persons. When it comes to... Life in general... Not intellect. It's not about intellect. Intellects...
[42:46] It does not much difference. But when it comes to... Physically... Physical issues... And how to... A woman can cry over... Up to now...
[42:57] I'm here to see... I don't... I've been pastoring... A lot more women cry. Some of them... As soon as you start talking to them... About their situation... Yesterday...
[43:09] One of their brothers came to talk to me... About a... A serious situation... That is going on in their family. But he was standing there... And talking to me. I knew if it was a woman. I'm not saying women...
[43:22] You know... But you should understand... When there's a situation in the house... You hear women screaming more... Generally speaking... Some men scream louder than women. Okay... You understand what I'm talking about. All right...
[43:36] Let's go back to the text. So the way you read... The way you treat people... Especially your spouse... Not only your spouse... Other people... The way you treat other people... You haven't forgiven somebody...
[43:48] And you're expecting God... To answer your prayers... Bitterness and unforgiveness... Has baptized you... It's like the way you put a hand...
[43:59] In a cast... You have been put in a cast... Of bitterness... Unforgiveness... And you're expecting your prayers... To be answered... No... God can't answer prayers...
[44:11] Of people who haven't forgiven... Who are still bearing... Bitterness against others... Pastor... You know...
[44:21] It hurts so much... No... I'm not saying your feelings... Will be healed... In misdialing... You will still have the feelings... The pain... Of the injustice...
[44:31] Unfairness... That has been meted out to you... You will still have the pain... Emotionally... You will be all over the place... But... Forgiveness is a decision... I decide I'm not going to hold it against them...
[44:44] It's a decision... So it's not a feeling... You may never forget it... The rest of your life... You may never forget... Don't... That forgiving... Forgetting is not... You will never forget... Forget what that person did...
[44:56] Yeah... You may never forget it... But guess what... You can choose... Not to react... Negatively to the... Whoever perpetrated that...
[45:06] Hate... Do you understand what I'm saying? Yeah... And so it's important to... Get it... Now... Your Bible says that... If you have been forgiving others... Your prayers will be compromised... But the other one is even...
[45:16] Very interesting... Most of us have not considered... When others have something against you... It can affect your prayers... According to Matthew chapter... I think...
[45:28] Is it Matthew chapter 18 or so... I forgot the text... No... Matthew chapter 5... Verse 25... It's okay... When... It said... When you present... Five... Yeah... Matthew chapter 5... When you present your gifts to the altar...
[45:39] And there you remember... That... You remember... Look at what that text for me... I don't know... You remember that somebody has something against you... It says... Go back...
[45:49] Therefore... Matthew 5... 23... If you bring thy gift to the altar... And there... Remember that thy brother has ought against you... No you have ought against him... They have ought against you...
[46:00] It says... Leave your sacrifice there... Go and make peace... I know the question that comes to mind... I can't make peace... This person does not want to see my face... Once you make the attempt...
[46:11] And you try... And do what you know... You have to do genuinely... Then now you flip the coin... Over... And now the responsibility is in their hands...
[46:22] But you can't say... I can't be bothered... It's up to them... I'm living my life... No... It will affect your prayers... Because you have done something wrong against somebody... Are you guessing what I'm saying? So... Right relationships...
[46:33] Let's say right relationships... Right relationships... Please say it again... Say right relationships... Right relationships... That's point number one... Six... Point number seven... Quickly... Oh I like...
[46:43] I like point number seven... Turn to the Holy Spirit... Turn to the Holy Spirit... Romans chapter 8 verse 14... Bible says that... The... As many as are led...
[46:55] By the Spirit... They are the sons of God... Alright... Turn to the Holy Spirit... As many as are led by the Spirit... They are the sons... Romans chapter 8 verse 26... Says that... For the Spirit himself...
[47:05] For the Spirit himself... Helps us in our weaknesses... For we don't know... How to pray as we ought... Okay... Pray for our weakness... For... For we know...
[47:16] Not what we should pray for... As we ought... But the Spirit himself... Alright... So... For your prayers... To really get... Heaven's attention... You must come... You must...
[47:27] Turn to the Holy Spirit... How do you turn to the Holy Spirit... Learn how to depend on the Spirit of God... To lead... Because there are things... You need to tackle... Tackle... In prayers...
[47:37] Which you are not aware... You are supposed to do that... Like the people... The gentleman... I called and prayed for him... The first day of the fasting... None of us knew that... Something was about to happen...
[47:47] That night... You understand that... So... The Holy Spirit... And then when you have the Spirit... And the Word combined together... It changes everything... Quickly... Number... Or...
[47:58] Eight... Quickly... Let me just run through... Number eight... This is very important... Somebody say faith... Faith... The first scripture... I quoted...
[48:08] When I started talking about prayer... Matthew chapter 21... Verse 22... That... Whatsoever you desire... When you pray... Believe... Say believe... Believe... In James chapter 1...
[48:19] Verse 6 to 8... It talks about... Let's all read it together... Let's read it together... From the screen... James 1... 6 to 8... Let's go... Let's start again...
[48:34] Change to... Now let's keep... New King James... Okay... To live... Let's go... Let's go... For... Let... Verse 7...
[48:48] Yes... For let... Not that man... Suppose... He will receive... Anything from... Can you... The one who is doubting... Don't think you receive... Anything from God... When... If you are coming to God... To ask... Make sure you are asking...
[48:59] In trust... In faith... Go to the next verse... Let's go... Be... Unstable... One in one... Unstable... So... Until you come... With confidence...
[49:10] Whatsoever you desire... When you pray... Believe... That you have received... And you shall receive it... So... Believing... Is a major factor... Component of your prayer... Hebrews chapter 11...
[49:20] Verse 6... Says that... Without faith... It is impossible... To please God... It says that... For he who comes to God... Must believe... Believing... Is a necessary requirement... For approaching God...
[49:31] Must believe... So... Faith... Jesus said... In Matthew chapter 9... Verse 29... That be it unto you... According to your faith... What determines... What you get from God...
[49:41] Your faith... Be it... What's faith... You believe what God has said... Is true... And you trust that God is faithful... To act on his word... That's simple as that... Is it healing you are believing God for?
[49:53] Believe it... Keep believing him... Are you on medication... Keep believing God... And keep taking your medication... Keep believing God... And going through the process... And believe that God will heal you...
[50:04] So... When we pray... Things happen... Just believe God... And... As you go through your process... Of medication...
[50:15] Or treatment... Let your faith be in God... Not the treatment... Some people... Won't go for treatment... They say... No, God is healing me...
[50:25] Please... Even food that we eat... Is full of... Chemicals... And so medication... Is just chemicals... Is just another type of food... Are you getting what I'm saying?
[50:38] But put your faith in God... Bible says that... The prayer... James chapter 5... The prayer of faith... Will raise the sick person... Prayer of faith... It's not... Jesus told them...
[50:49] Matthew 19... 29... 29... He said... Be it unto you... According to your faith... For the just... Shall live... By faith... Yes...
[51:00] The just shall live... By faith... Faith will keep you going... Your faith in God... Will keep you going... Your faith in God... Will secure your future... Yeah... And finally... Let me add one more...
[51:10] For effective prayer... Obedience... Obedience... Obedience... Is a... Major thing... It's... It's... It's obedience...
[51:20] That validates... Sacrifice... Sacrifice... Is not sacrifice... Until... It's not acceptable... To God...
[51:30] Until there is the element... Of obedience... In it... Sacrifice... No... It's obedience... This year...
[51:40] Is a year of sacrifice... That means... Someone is determining... To be working... Obeying God... As you obey God... Jesus went to the cross... As an act... As an act of...
[51:50] Obedience... It was an act of obedience... He... He... He... When... Before... According to Philippians...
[52:01] Chapter 2... Bible says that... He... Oh... I'm finishing this... Watch this... Bible said... He became obedient... Even unto death... He became obedient...
[52:11] Jesus was an epitome... Of obedience... He... Being... A parent man... He humbled himself... And became obedient... To the point of death...
[52:23] He said... If this... In the army... If your commander... Say go and fight them... You can't say... I'm not going... You know you are not going... To come back... If you go... But you have to obey unto death... That's the army...
[52:36] You have to obey... Now... Jesus Christ's... Level of obedience... Was so sharp... Watch this... In... In... In Jewish tradition... When a boy is 12 years old...
[52:48] He's now considered a man... In our... In our... In our... Is it 18 or 21... You know... And then... When you are 21 or 18... Your parents... Your parents give you the keys...
[52:58] They say... Now you can go... And come... Feel free... Now we leave you to be on your own... And stuff like that... In Jewish tradition... In those days... 12 years old... You are a man on your own... So when they went to the temple... And after 12 years...
[53:09] He was a man at that time... Then his parents went... They left him behind... And they realized... That he was not with them... So Mary thought he was with Joseph... Joseph thought he was with the women... Because children usually will be with the women...
[53:20] But men... Now boys... When they grow after a man... You have to be with the men... So the men go... And the women go... The women and the children... So after... His 12 years... And they were...
[53:31] They were expecting that... Now he's a man... So Mary thought... He's now going to be with the men... But Joseph didn't realize... He wasn't with... Joseph thought... He would be with the women... Because he's always traveling with the women...
[53:42] With Mary... So they arrived... And they realized... They were gone... They traveled far... They realized... Jesus is not here... Where is he? Joseph said... I thought he was with you... I thought he was with you... And back and forth... They went back to the temple... They saw him in the temple...
[53:53] And Mary said... Son... Why have you done this? Your father and I... Luke chapter 2... Your father and I... Have been looking for you... Jesus said... Don't you know... I have to be about...
[54:03] My father's business... Because he said... Trying to tell... Joseph is not my father... Because once you become a man... You take over your father's job... You start doing your father's job...
[54:13] So he said... Don't you know... You should know... I'm supposed to be about... My father's business... He told them something deep... And then Joseph... Mary understood this... And Bible... What followed is what I want to... Draw your attention to...
[54:23] And he went down... He went down with them... To... Came to Nazareth... And was subject to them... Not to her... To them... Jesus knew how to obey...
[54:35] So on the cross... Just before he went to the cross... It was obedience... I showed you... When he said... When you pray... Say... Our father who art in heaven... As I end... Our father who art in heaven... Hello be your name... Thy kingdom come... Say thy kingdom come...
[54:45] Thy kingdom come... And then what follows... Thy will be done... I can't hear... What follows... Thy will be done... Louder... Thy will be done... Louder... Thy will be done...
[54:55] Thy will be done on earth... In other words... I subject everything I want... To your will... In Matthew chapter 26... Verse 39... The Bible says that... Jesus Christ... He prayed...
[55:06] And he says that... God... If this is possible... He went further... Fell on his face... And prayed... Saying... Oh my father... If this is possible... Let this cup...
[55:16] Pass for me... Nevertheless... Not as I will... But your will be done... This... When you say... Your will be done... The emphasis... That... That will be done...
[55:27] As your will... When he taught us to... He said... Your will be done... Your will be done... The emphasis is not on the will... But the emphasis is on the done... I will explain it...
[55:38] The done... Is where the emphasis... The will... If you say... No my will... I resign... It's like... It's not about... Resignation... From your will... But it's resolution...
[55:48] About what God wants... Is what I want to enforce... So... It's about their doing... You are enforcing... What God wants... More than... Okay... Let me step... Back... And leave God...
[55:58] No, no... It's about you now... Becoming the proponent... Of God's agenda... That's obedience... You are enforcing... What God wants... You are pushing...
[56:08] What God wants... Most of us... Attempt to do sacrifices... Without obedience... Prayer... Whose three C's answers... Is prayers... By people who work with God...
[56:20] In obedience... Your obedience... Is necessary for your testimony... I see your testimony coming... Amen... I see your breakthrough coming... Amen... I have to end now...
[56:31] Because my time is up... But I would like us... To spend just two minutes... In prayer... You have to demonstrate... Listen... If you have an issue... With your husband... Or your wife...
[56:41] You have to ask for forgiveness now... And say... Lord... She wins... He wins... You understand... I mean...
[56:51] I don't understand... Why you are praying... For this major contract... And yet you are fighting... Against your wife... Or your husband... God... Even though you deserve... The contract... God can't act... On your behalf...
[57:03] We are going to pray... Some of us... Are bearing... Holding... Grudges against people... And you have vowed that... For this person to have freedom... I must die... That's how serious...
[57:17] Bitterness can go... People don't care... If they will die... To make sure their enemy dies... Something said... Let me... Let me die with my enemies... We are going to rise up to pray...
[57:30] We are going to say... Lord... I let him off the hook... Lord... I let him off the hook... Lord... I come in the name of Jesus... Lord... Your word says that... You are my healer... Lord... Your word says that... You shall supply all my needs...
[57:41] Come with the word... Come with the reason... And then begin to pray... And then begin to address... The last bit I didn't say... Is you have to learn how to say... Some things... Tell the devil... Get off my family...
[57:51] Devil... Get off my health... Devil... Get off my situation... You have to begin to address... Some things... By the authority... In the name of Jesus... Under the power of the blood of God... Or the blood of Christ... Rise to your feet somebody...
[58:01] We are about to pray... Just for two minutes... And I want you to pray... Mean it from your heart... And deal with anything... That is holding on to your future... Holding on to your life... Anything that the enemy...
[58:11] Has imposed upon your life... Which is not good... Anything that is not of God... Must be overruled... Must be overturned... Must be overturned in your life... We want to pray...
[58:21] We are coming in the name of Jesus... We are taking the step... In the name of Jesus... We are coming in the power of the blood... We are coming in the name of Jesus... We are based on the word of God... And we are coming boldly to declare...
[58:33] That Satan... You have lost the battle in my marriage... Satan... You have lost the battle in my finances... Satan... You have lost the battle in my job... In my family... In my child... Somebody need to pray about that child...
[58:45] Somebody need to pray for that woman... Pray for your sister... Pray for your brother... Pray for your child... Pray for your job... Pray about the situation... Stop moaning... Stop complaining... Pray for your children...
[58:55] And start praying... Lift up your voice... And begin to pray... Talk to God... Talk to God... Ask Him to forgive you... Ask Him to have mercy on you... Ask Him to show you His power...
[59:05] Ask Him to favor you... Ask Him to do something new in your life... Somebody lift up your voice... And begin to pray... We thank God for using His servant... Reverend Dr. David Entry... To share this awesome word...
