Trusting God

[0:13] Be blessed. Let's also trust in God. Trust in God. Thank you, Jesus.

[0:24] Thank you, Lord. Thank you. Bible says, as for God, his way is perfect.

[0:39] The word of the Lord is tried. And it's a buckler. Psalm 18, I think verse 30. It's a buckler to all those who trust in him.

[0:53] As for God, his way is perfect. The word of the Lord is tried. He is a buckler to all those who trust in him. Trusting God means...

[1:12] In fact, I quoted a scripture. I alluded to a scripture, but I didn't quote it in Job chapter 15 verse 13. Job 15 verse 13. Job, when he lost everything in his life.

[1:23] Do you know who he's called? He said... Sorry, Job 13, 15. That's called... Sorry. Job 13, 15. It says that, though God slays me, yet I will trust him.

[1:35] Do you know what it means to slay? It's like he's killing me. He's using the sword to slash me and kill me. You can see the person is stabbing you and you trust him. He came close to you or he fired the gun.

[1:50] He fired it. And it just missed. Or he fired and there was no bullet. And so I trust him.

[2:05] You trust me? The one who's trying to kill you, that's the level of trust Job had for God. He said, even though it may look as if God is killing me, I will trust him.

[2:19] Because that means that what he's doing for me is not actually against me. It's for me. So if my system interprets it as killing, that's okay.

[2:31] I still trust him. Maybe that's the best that has to happen for me. I need to be killed. Whatever God does to me, he said, even though he slays me, I will trust him.

[2:43] So Job went to rock bottom. He lost everything in his life, but he bounced back. Because that's the man who trusts God.

[2:55] He lost everything in his life. He lost everything in his life. This generation, many systems and many lives and many approaches in life.

[3:13] Systems, lives, outlook, attitude towards life, attitude towards everything. Much of it is built around lies.

[3:27] Especially in our school systems. For instance, since when did...

[3:39] Watch this. Listen to what I'm going to say very carefully. They have intentionally assumed that evolution is scientific.

[3:56] Intentionally. Intentionally. Without strong evidence. But science is supposed to be about evidence. But there's no strong evidence about evolution.

[4:10] And they have intentionally said, if you say creation, it can't be science. No, it can't be science. Evolution, yes. But that's not scientific. The greatest line in our generation is you can do without God.

[4:26] That's the lie. You can do without God. Listen. The biggest lie of your life is to assume you can do without God.

[4:43] It's a lie. Tell someone. What he's saying is the truth. What he's saying is the truth. Shake the person.

[4:53] Tell the person, you can't do without God. You can't do without God. The biggest lie.

[5:07] Bury God in your future. Let God be part of your future. As you pursue the future. Don't put God aside.

[5:20] That's why I'm talking about trusting God. This year, the only reason why you can have, you can lift up your eyes and face and walk with the chest out.

[5:32] Even though you don't know how the year will turn out. It's because you have God in your future. Tell someone, God is in my future.

[5:45] God is in my future. Yeah. Thank you, Jesus. You have God in your future. That's why you can walk and face tomorrow.

[5:57] Yes. One wise man said, anxiety is planning for the future and not including God. Anxiety is thinking about the future without God.

[6:12] Anxiety is imagining the future. Preparing for the future without God.

[6:27] That man will break your heart. That woman will go back to him. Even though she's still with you.

[6:39] Wow. She actually doesn't love you. It's your money. That's why you're afraid. Why would you go to bed and always keep your eye open?

[6:59] Because you are living with somebody you don't trust. Crime has increased and yet we have more CCTVs.

[7:10] Close circuit television. To monitor it by crime has increased. Because we are trying to build a society, a family without God.

[7:31] Thinking money can take care of everything. Tell somebody, trust God. Trust God.

[7:47] Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. Psalm 112, verse 7 says, Some of you, the only thing is that you are not, you are not aware this year will be good for you.

[8:07] But I'm telling you, it will be good for you. Amen. Amen. Pastor, you know, I'm not worried about my children's future at all.

[8:19] I'm not worried about my children's future. As a parent, I keep my eye open. See how best I can give them the best of training I can. But the greatest of training I can give to my children is teach them how to say hallelujah and trust God.

[8:38] Because nothing I give them will be good enough to secure their future. I am not afraid of tomorrow.

[8:50] The songwriter says, Because he lives, I can face tomorrow. One wise man said, I do not know what the future holds, but I know he who holds the future.

[9:09] Yes, sir. Yes, yes. The scripture puts it this way. Be anxious for nothing. Yes, sir. But in everything, by prayer and supplication, let your requests be made known to God.

[9:24] And the peace of God that transcends understanding shall keep your heart and your mind. Philippians chapter 4, verse 6 and 7. Through Christ Jesus.

[9:36] Jesus said it, put it this way, John 16, 33. He said, These things I have said to you, that you might have peace.

[9:46] In the world you shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. Amen. Jesus put it this way in Luke and in Matthew.

[9:56] He said, Which of you, by worrying, can add a cubit to your life? And he went on to say, Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

[10:08] There is enough problem in the day for you to add tomorrow's problems, tomorrow's worries. What is it going to, how is it going to look like tomorrow? For you to add it to the problems of today.

[10:21] So instead of adding tomorrow's problem to today's problems, trust God for tomorrow. Yes. Yes. The doctors have asked you to come in.

[10:33] Go! Tell them, here, here. Yeah. Check me. Black test, okay, here. Check it. Sample, I brought it. Check it. Check it.

[10:45] Check it. Check it. Check it. Check it. Check it. Check it. Check it. Don't say, oh, I know God has healed me, but I won't go. No, go and let them see God has healed you.

[10:55] Amen. Amen. Evidence. Don't mind those who tell you that religion versus science. Faith and science.

[11:09] Christian faith is reasonable faith. Amen. Yes. It's not faith that is based on assumption. It's reasonable faith, provable faith. Historically, with unimpeachable, historicity.

[11:26] Every claim of scripture is provable. Nobody has ever been able to disprove the resurrection of Jesus. Jesus was a historic figure.

[11:42] There's no religious leader who said, who made this claim that I would die and resurrect again. Because, Jesus, if he was phony, he should have said, I would die by the spiritual resurrect.

[11:59] But he said, destroy this body and I'll raise it again in three days. That's a serious claim. A very, very, very audacious claim.

[12:09] Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Some people may find it objectionable or obnoxious, but it is audacious.

[12:21] An audacious claim. Kill me. And I raised his body. So, our faith is not unreasonable. Our faith doesn't have any conflict with science.

[12:36] Or some of you didn't hear what I said. It doesn't have any conflict with science. I don't know how many of you have dated one person before.

[12:50] Or two. At the same time. I know somebody here is doing it.

[13:04] No, no, no. But it's telling on your face. You are not happy. You are living in fear of being caught.

[13:18] You keep running away from your own shadow. My God. Bishop Dachs said, what I told you the other time. One day he was walking home and he saw, hey, who is there?

[13:29] Who is that person there? It was his wife's wig. Hanging. Hanging.

[13:43] So, even trying to date two is a lot of work. Let's assume both of them are even away. It's still my work. A lot of work. Because everything you tell this one, you have to find so many.

[13:55] You have to find different things to prove that it's true. and when you take this one to a different thing that you know you are the really one, the real one I want to be with you, you have to prove it and then you have to prove it how about three guess what how about four but I see we are living in a generation that that supposes that it's better just enjoy yourself the day this one is not available, this one is there alright, trust God tell someone trust God trust God in Jeremiah chapter 17 verse 1 I want someone to know that this year is supposed to be a very good year for those of us in this church we are not making the journey alone oh, when I used to be in secondary school actually, we used to have this song

[15:08] I'm making a journey with Jesus He will never fail me I'm making a journey with Jesus He will never fail me I'm making a journey with Jesus He will never fail me He will never fail me He will never fail me Jesus will never fail me travel with him in your boat just in case the storm comes you can get up and steal the storm but if he's not in the boat when the storm arises now you are going to look for someone to bring him on another boat SOS please bring Jesus it's a lie to think you can face the future without God God is not against you having pleasure read your Bible it says at His right hand are pleasures forevermore in His presence it's full

[16:26] Psalm 11 verse 3 or 16 verse 11 in His presence it's fullness of joy and at His right hand are pleasures forevermore God wants us to have pleasure but with sacred boundaries sacred boundaries you know I spoke about relationship about dating to people or marrying to people because if you think about it you may think it's pleasure but it's more stressful there are people here in your family since your father died there has always been contention with that because of the step siblings major contention the family has never your father's biggest regret was this step thing he's brought in the family but I actually thought he was having fun step siblings trust God tell somebody trust God trust God alright verse 1 there's

[17:44] Jeremiah chapter 17 verse 1 the sin of Judah written with a pen of iron and with is that serious?

[17:59] no it's written with an iron pen and the tip is diamond builders when builders tell you about this one it's diamond cut that means that it's tough it casts through concrete it's engraved and it casts through diamond and it says that the tip of the pen is diamond when you read some translations it says and written on your heart of marble so with pen of diamonds with the pen of diamond it is graven upon the table of the heart and upon the horns see the altar where you are supposed to be doing sacrifice and calling on God it says your sins are being engraved at the horns it's like the legs of the table your dining table it's like you are traveling and your passport there's a stamp in it that it shouldn't be allowed to board any flight it's there it's there it's a terrorist watch out terrorist watch out so you have a visa but you show your passport the passport that is supposed to make you travel you show it it says it said the sins of Israel the sins of Judah the sins are written on the engraved on the horns of the altar so altar is a place where man and God meets and where God is about to meet you your sins have been engraved there said your children even remember their altars this is talking about sin verse 2 while their children remember their altars and their grooves by the green trees upon now this is talking about sin of idolatry sin of evil go to the next let me show you something oh my mountain in the field

[20:00] I will give thy substance and all thy treasures to the spoil and thy high places for sin throughout all thy bodies this is God bringing judgment on Israel that the things that are supposed to be iconic for you I will give them and others will take it what have they done what sin what sin is this that God is talking about let's go to the next verse and thou even thyself shall discontinue from thy heritage that I gave thee so what God has given this is your portion everyone has got a right to land a right to something a right to nice hair right to nice something right to he said even what is your right God the one I've given you I've given you everybody so you have given you a gift talent abilities what have he been given you for you to flourish in he said that thing that I've given you after your inheritance you will be discontinued it will be taken from you hey what have these people done and I will

[21:07] I will give sorry I will cause thee to serve thine enemies in the land which thou knowest not for ye have kindled a fire in my anger which shall burn forever you have anoint me hey but what is it that they have done that has caused this fire in God's anger to be kindled what is it that they have done Israel do you want to know yes do you want to know yes then verse 5 what does it say that's all I read let's go your heart has left God your confidence is in flesh you are not you are trusting human entities trusting human structures human systems that is what all your confidence is he said that when you come to pray at the altar your sin is waiting for you that's why your endowment the gifts the talents abilities are not really yielding the way you yield because it has been taken over because you have trusted in man

[22:20] God didn't say don't trust he said you are cursed if you trust a man and they will they will continue to disappoint you they will so call your best friend they will so call this one we are we are twins for life please secure that relationship by putting your trust in God yes BFF best friends for life say that by what you are saying that make sure that your eyes are on God is it your beauty you trust in is it your educational attainment is good please I want to encourage everybody to study as much as you can but keep the law of God in your heart because they are demon possessed lecturers and the system of academics or academia that are programmed to wash away God from you so be careful and don't pursue life as do

[23:45] God does not matter you will come back but by the time you come back to realize God matters too much has gone waste in your life so it's a case be the one who puts his trust in man and makes flesh his arm whose heart departs from God go to the next verse for he shall be like the heath in the desert and shall not see when good comes hey this is God shall not see when he comes but shall inhabit the patched places in the wilderness in a salt land and not inhabited your inheritance can you imagine how much investment you have made you have made into this your studies or your business or investment you have made into this relationship oh you already have two children inside it oh think about what I'm saying those of us who think that oh

[25:07] I'll be okay without God no you won't you won't because your investment will turn sour there's no guarantee life is very risky but on the flip side we'll see when you trust God let me show you how to trust God let me give you four points quickly four points four points how do you trust God number one Proverbs chapter three verse fifteen sorry I'm sorry verse five Proverbs three five I think it would be a nice idea if we all read it let's go some of you are not reading has your hallelujah gone let's all read that let's go trust in the Lord with all thy heart and lead not on the right what is the strategy trust in the Lord how with all with all your heart put your heart everything into it know it's part of your heart know it's some of your heart with all your heart so number one how to trust God all your heart don't be smart don't be smart with God you know

[26:30] I know I know usually when you are a teenager especially a girl and you are entering a relationship you can't trust him with all your heart sorry you easily sorry you easily trust him with all your heart that's what I mean but when you are 38 and you have you have been on a few trains he said can we open a joint account to the extent that people get married and they say we can't do anything together we are married but you we only come together for purposes of mutual enjoyment a mutual vision but I'm still on my track you are on your track that's why sometimes

[27:31] I'm about to say something very interesting that's why sometimes it's good to marry early because when you marry early in your early 20s you don't know a lot you've not been hurt a lot you have not been disappointed a lot so you trust more oh pastor no but if I trust more that means I'll be hurt more that's why you need a pastor of your trust oh I know anybody if you get married in this church and you stay in the church we will help you because because now looking at your timing and your age the list is very your requirement is not it's not likely you may get everything and everybody has some things we have to be careful about we have to be careful about so nowadays if you come to me say oh I want to marry this I want us to go no problem I will check just the basic things are okay okay because maybe he's not already married and the wife is still there or basic things like he's not a corn man basic things like she's not fake trying to steal money you know those things just basic or or let's say she is a judge top judge or lawyer and he doesn't have a job but he speaks in tongues a lot that one because you know we have to look at this thing very carefully those things because those things so let's say you just you just you just arrived from

[29:12] Nigeria and he also just came from Nicaragua both of him diverse backgrounds is going to have a lot of problems so those are the major things that we look but apart from that we have you schooled here you understand everything maybe you're in the same church it's better for you or you hear the same kind of spiritual direction so it's better but even if you're not in the same church you have to bring him to the same church to help you it's true it's true it's true so it's well in the day of trouble the things we have taught already we will commit you and refer you to it and you really agreed all along so you can continue in agreement we just helped you and it's a lot of things so it's easier you know Pastor Kobe would have been divorced by now he said

[30:14] I've had enough I'm leaving the country I said God come and see me come and let's talk come and let's talk one of our sisters she's in the music department their marriage was at the break everything was practically dissolved the husband said I've had enough never I called them to my house my studio and we we had a chat and that day when they finished they left it snowed heavily they slept they spent the night in my house because they were going to quarantine they spent the night since that time the marriage I'm talking about over eight years ago more than eight years ago the marriage has been peaceful ever since so don't don't take this tilapia from this river and think that you do well in the sea it's a river based river bonefish

[31:15] I'm not worried for you I'm not worried at all we can't help you your children will grow everything but some of us the way we are it will be difficult to marry you it will be difficult because the way you are so many things but if you can be in a healthy Christian environment you'll be fine open hearted you'll be fine there are people here who are at the brink of divorce separation divorce but it will go bad so I'm just I'm not advocating for and there's nothing wrong even if I do that for you to stay in church but the future will be in your interest so nowadays when you see somebody you like just come let's talk let's talk talk to any of the pastors

[32:22] I like this question I like this question everything we check the basic credit history and everything just check the basic ones because you actually growing you actually growing settle down catch one person settle down and start a family life because because it takes a long time to build family how old is your son 18 18 but you are 45 takes a long time to build family so the earlier you start the better I'm not talking about half children early if anybody and there's no marriage because that counts with a lot of heart aches I don't want to talk about marriage now but please

[33:23] I'm advocating this year I know there'll be a lot of weddings but for your information I think I need to just do this let me just bring you up to speed update you when I say marriage I'm not talking about find somebody to endorse your romantic desires or some people what you have in mind is romance you are not thinking of marriage marriage is such a huge responsibility it's like it's like something is sitting on lunch yes marriage don't run don't run you are thinking of romance this is what you are bringing up on yourself you think everybody hello honey hello darling bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye bye тех some of us when we talk about giving, tithing so I'm smart thank God for my friend

[35:07] Pastor David Oedipo he said leave people that's how you preach it's up to you whether you tithe you don't tithe it's between you and God if it is from God it will tell on you if it's not from God it will also tell on you it's between you and God trust in the Lord with all your heart with all your heart if you are trusting, trust if you are not trusting, stop trusting don't be a corn man like you want to use God you want to be smart with God okay God you know meet me next week trust in the Lord with all, some of you you are being told I don't know you, you, you see romance without boundaries can, it hurts you it can hurt you it can, it's actually not romance it's lust lust and there's no future at the end of lust that's right there's no future no future so trust in the Lord with all your heart lean not on your own understanding okay that's the second point then let me give you the points quickly

[36:38] I have to stop now but there's a reason why God made me talk about this it's for somebody when he says lean not on your own understanding look at the verse 6 again Proverbs chapter 3 verse 6 it says in all your ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your part so you have to be mindful of your when he said lean not on your own understanding it's what independent understanding with this how I do my thing that's for me this is how I see it this is how I do my own thing hey that's not okay I know you're saying God but I mean this is how I see it I don't know an independent mindset lean not on your own understanding because you don't know a lot you don't know a lot do you know the sickness will kill you you don't know number 3 fear the Lord and depart from evil let's look at number verse 8

[37:41] Jeremiah 17 let's go to verse 7 Jeremiah oh no I'm sorry I'm sorry let's go to Psalms where were we reading Proverbs I'm sorry Proverbs 3 verse 7 yeah bless the man that trusted in the Lord verse 7 be not wise in your own I see understanding lean not on your own understanding fear the Lord and depart from evil there must be godly boundaries tell somebody depart from evil or shake the person on the shoulder don't be afraid I don't know anything about you I'm just but God knows all about you but you are he has created you for hallelujah so so be not fear the Lord and depart from evil that's how to trust god some things that are not right stay away from it stay away from it years ago there's a sister

[38:44] I can't mention her name but she lived in Stratford early days just before the church started she was living with a guy and I told her you know if you guys want to marry let the guy don't live together it's not helpful it's not healthy and she said I don't want him to go because some other person will get him after a while after the guy after I think about two abortions and they continue they continue the guy told her that I don't even there's no fun in being with you he packed his things from his house from her house he left she called broke I said I told you you can't keep him you can't because you can't sustain water with a basket you don't want to lose water don't use the basket just close the tap trust God listen don't be afraid and don't think doing right will hurt you doing right will secure your future not just right right but godly right did God say it obey do it it may not be popular the lady said her friends were mocking her that was even just trying to study they were mocking her now she's way above all of them so if you attempt to work with God some people will look down on you that's why

[40:31] I just I just don't understand why people think those of us in church are sad hey what makes them think we are sad what do excuse me what do they have and we don't have we have God how about them fun oh fun with God is better it's fulfilling it's joyful they may have happiness but not joy happiness comes by happiness joy is a function of the spirit fulfilling some of you remember you go to nightclub or whatever and you get home you are tired you are tired in the morning you are empty you are sad you are empty because now you made him kiss you knew you didn't have done that but because where you went everybody was kissing so you also have to comply why do I keep going there maybe God is trying to deliver somebody tell the person

[41:46] I think you are the one I think you are the the how do you trust God Proverbs chapter 3 again please put it there so number one how do you trust God do it with all your heart number two how do you do it with all your heart so watch independent mindset number three fear the Lord and depart number four verse 9 verse 9 honor the Lord with your substance and with your first fruit the first fruit of your increase every increase just let it be clear that God you gave it to me honor God with your substance that shows you trust

[42:50] God so the people who think that I'm not giving anything to church anything to church but I want the breakthrough from God the unfortunate truth is that if you don't give anything to church the church will do well without you but I can't guarantee you honor God with your substance count it a privilege to God I honor you with your substance some of you have cars when we are going for outreach you say no one I don't use my car for those things you have homes you could have opened your home for my house you see and yet you believe God that this year will be your year you are trusting God for the future honor God with your substance all my best clothes are for church because you don't have anywhere going who told you now your best shoes wear it to church before you wear it for the interview and that's just it's not anything spiritual but I think I might throw it in somebody

[44:09] God will help you my message is one trust God are you afraid trust him some 56 verse 3 he said whenever I'm afraid I'll trust in you what time I'm afraid I'll trust in me sometimes you're so afraid sometimes you don't know what the future is trying to come with sometimes you already started seeing signs of things going to work against you sometimes you can tell that danger is looming hey hey hey hey listen trust God alright trust God he'll take care of you even when you are you've got you're rock bottom remember God can take care of you God will not disappoint you and the only way you can have a meaningful future is when you face the future trusting God because there is no hope for anybody outside of

[45:16] God outside of God he said how are they increased who laugh at you and say there is no hope for him in God but thou oh lord some three art a shield for me my glory and the lifter of my head so I want you to trust God this year is going to be better than last year this year is the year you have long waited for I am announcing I'm a prophet and I'm announcing to you that this year will be better than last year this year will work better for you you shall not see shame this year heaven will help you this year what the canker worm has eaten what the caterpillar has eaten what the enemy has taken away from you this year restoration is coming restoration is coming restoration is coming in the name of Jesus

[46:32] January is almost finished but God sent me as a prophet to tell somebody trust God and fear not trust God and fear not trust God and fear not trust God and fear not trust God and fear not trust God and fear not because God will help you God will favor you God will deliver you God will defend you and the year will work for you January will work for you February will work for you March will work for you April May June will work for you July August September will be in your favor before December you will be laughing it will be well with you it shall be well with you it shall eat the good of the land in the name of Jesus yes yes yes yes trust God trust God for your healing trust God for your job

[48:05] Trust God for your family. Trust God for your children. Trust God for your marriage. Trust God for your mortgage. Trust God for your business.

[48:18] Trust God for your studies. Trust God for your Aism. Hey, don't be afraid. Trust God for that cost case. Trust God for your life.

[48:32] Trust God. Trust God. Trust God. Trust God. Trust God. Trust God. Trust God. Trust God.

[48:43] Trust God. There are times, I used to play this game with my children. Not game, but every now and then.

[48:54] Those times, I would just, the younger one would stand on the car, the back side, and I said, come, come, come. Or on the table, and I said, come, come. I'm going to dive, and then she would just dive.

[49:05] Because she trusts, that will hold me. Why would a human being just dive into air? Because she trusts, that will hold me.

[55:30] I want to repent of... And it says that, how do you trust God? Fear the Lord and depart from evil. So I want to, Lord...

[55:42] See, it does not start with your willpower. It starts with your invitation of Jesus or surrendering to Jesus and saying that, Jesus, I know you died for me.

[55:57] Forgive me. Come into my heart. Come into my heart. Yes, Jesus loves me. I know it. I want to pray for somebody. You want to turn to Jesus and say, Lord, forgive me.

[56:10] I trust you. From today, I want to work with you, trust in you. I want to work with you, trust in you. I want to be a pure Christian who trusts you with all my heart. I want to be born again.

[56:20] I want to start it. Lord, I don't know what the future will turn out to be like, but I want to trust you. I'm ready. I make up my mind to follow Jesus. I've decided to follow Jesus.

[56:33] Maybe that's your genuine prayer and you want to say, Pastor, pray with me. I would want to pray with you. I would want to pray with you before we... We are closing now, but I want to pray with you. I'm going to pray a simple prayer with you.

[56:44] When we pray this prayer, I want you to pray it from your heart. Be genuine. Be genuine from your heart and speak it out to Jesus. And that changes everything. It's just like wedding. You stand at the altar or the registry and you make a vow to your spouse.

[57:00] And that changes everything. From that time, you are married. Say this after me. Say, Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner, but I believe that you died on the cross to save me from my sins.

[57:16] Today, I come before you. I repent of my sins and I invite you into my heart to be my Lord and my Savior.

[57:28] From today, I make a commitment that I will trust you with all my heart. I will follow you with all my heart and I will honor you with all my heart.

[57:40] Lord, thank you for this privilege. In Jesus' name. Help me to understand it more. Thank you, Holy Spirit.
