When you begin walking with God in a certain way you must continue in that way, for with God continuity matters. To enjoy God there must be the discipline for continuity. Continuity is a function of your trust in God. The trust you have in God can determine the continuity of your walk.
[0:00] Welcome. Thank you for choosing to listen to another faith-building message by Pastor David Entry. Faith comes by hearing and by hearing the Word of God.
[0:11] May your knowledge of Jesus Christ increase as you listen. Be blessed. Father, thank you for this short period we've got to hear your Word. We pray that you speak to us.
[0:25] Reveal yourself to us. Give us unique encounters through your Word. As your Word is taught, impact yourself into us. Thank you.
[0:37] In Jesus' name. Amen. Paul said to the Galatian church in Galatians chapter 3, verse 1 and verse 3 of verse 3 and verse 5.
[0:47] He says that, verse 1 talks about, oh foolish Galatians. Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth? Before whose eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed amongst you as crucified.
[1:00] Verse 2. This only I want to learn from you. Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the Lord or by the hearing of faith? Verse 3. Oh you foolish Galatians.
[1:11] Let's all read it together. Are you so foolish? Having begun of the Spirit, are you now being made perfect at the flesh? Papa said, it is foolishness to be shameful of what is gainful.
[1:27] It is foolishness to be shameful of what is gainful. You began in the Spirit. Why are you switching into the flesh? Then he addressed it and said, oh foolish Galatians.
[1:39] The Bible calls them foolish. It is foolish. It is like a pastor preaching. It is a foolish Galatians. That tells you how serious it is. Why?
[1:50] Because when you begin in God in a certain way, you have to continue that same way. Right. Because in God, continuity matters. Some of you know people who suddenly are Christians or they become born again and then after two years, they are off.
[2:10] They turn off the born again light. Say continuity. Continuity. To enjoy God, there must be the discipline for continuity. Continuity. To enjoy God, there must be the discipline for continuity.
[2:26] Because we human beings are not, because we don't know the future, we tend to be impatient. Because most of the time, the thing that you think, what you think is going to pull you down, actually won't pull you down.
[2:40] But you are so much afraid, you make certain mistakes because you don't know the future. So we become impatient. So because of our impatience, like the gentleman who was hanging on a cliff, almost dying because there was no help.
[2:53] He was hanging on a cliff by a tree root. Just that. And the cliff, if he lets go, the roof is dying. It's very far down into the bottom of the cliff.
[3:06] So then he said, oh God, where are you? Help me, Lord. Help me, Lord. God, are you there? And I heard a voice. He said, yes.
[3:18] He said, God, help me. I believe in you. I trust in you. God said, okay, then let's go of the branch you are holding onto. Let go. He said, is there anyone else there?
[3:29] Because we will pursue God for one month, for two months, for six months.
[3:40] You are believing God for that healing. For one month you've been believing God. For two months you've sold seeds and everything. Having to hear people who say that I've given my time, now I'm tired. It's a problem of continuity.
[3:54] Continuity. Continuity. Continuity. When you're working with God, there is the need. Because if you trust God, you will continue in what you know that he asked you to do. In spite of the three Hebrew boys said, God is able to deliver us from the fire, but even if he doesn't deliver us, be it known to you, we are not bound.
[4:12] Continue. Tell someone, continue. Continue. It's so important because until we continue, he said, he who began a good work in you shall perform it until the day. So everything doesn't start one day.
[4:25] Something starts today because of tomorrow. So God is doing, the reason why we are here in this service is because of what he will do tonight. All right. So tonight's service is built on this morning service.
[4:38] Take continuity. Continuity. Actually, after one verse 14, Acts 1 14, Bible says that they, they, they went in a day's journey and they were all together.
[4:50] Okay. And, and all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication with the women and Mary, the mother of Jesus with his brothers. What did they do?
[5:00] They all continued with one accord. Say continue. So because they were continuing, the Holy Spirit came. But what they were waiting for was the Holy Spirit. But there was the need for them to go and continue in one accord in prayer.
[5:17] Continue. In Acts chapter two. So they were in one place. Acts chapter two verse one. This scripture, you can't hear it enough. We'll keep hearing because we are in time of revival.
[5:28] In Acts chapter two verse one, Bible says on the day of Pentacles, they were all together in one place with one accord. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind. And it filled the house, the whole house where they were sitting.
[5:42] All right. It filled the whole house where they were sitting. And fire came upon them. Something that looked like fire, closing tongues of fire, as of closing tongues of fire, sat on each one of them.
[5:52] And they began to speak in tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. And then the people outside began to notice that something new has happened to them. Praise the Lord.
[6:04] It's because of Acts chapter one verse 14. They continued. They continued. Say continuity. Continuity. I spoke about how to sustain revival and to have an encounter with God.
[6:17] I spoke about how prayer is necessary. Prayer is important. The word of God is important. And I also went on to speak about how consecration is important. Consecration, how you separate yourself onto God.
[6:28] Detach yourself from things that are junk. That will interfere or infiltrate your work with God. Come on, shout hallelujah. Hallelujah. So you have to catch yourself from some things.
[6:41] Listen. One wise man said, it is not enough for a gardener to love flowers. He must also hate weeds.
[6:57] I like my flowers. If you love your flowers, you must design means to sort out the weeds. So you can have a nice flower pot or array of flowers.
[7:10] Other than that, the weeds will grow. So the fact that you want the Holy Spirit means that you must also develop some things. Get some scissors. Get some cutters. Pruning forks.
[7:22] Cut some things off your life. Yeah. Master, what should I cut off? I've always been cutting off my hair. I mean, cut off unhealthy relationships.
[7:33] Cut off unhealthy practices. Most of us have the intention to serve God well. But every now and then we keep feeling, do you know why? The places you find yourself will determine what you do.
[7:47] Because you are not a stone. Every human being is susceptible. So continuity is necessary to be able to enjoy the package God has got for you.
[7:57] There is a woman in the Bible in Luke chapter 2 verse 36 to 38 called Anna. Luke 2 verse 36 to 38. She is called Anna. The Bible says that she was a widow. She was a widow and stayed.
[8:10] Now, there was one, Anna, a prophetess, the daughter of Phanuel of the tribe of Asha. She was of great age. Say, great age. Great age.
[8:21] Some of us are very young and yet you are not paying the price. Bible says in the book of Lamentations, I think chapter 3 verse 27 or so. It said, it is good for a man to bear the yoke in his youth.
[8:33] It is good for a man. So when you are younger, that's the time you have to take on the challenges. Am I making sense? So the point I'm making is that bear the price now.
[8:44] You are not too. Tomorrow you will be older. So whatever you got to do, do it now. Listen, what is preventing you from doing what you have to do will not change you. It's actually going to be harder. That's the truth.
[8:57] What is preventing you from the things, young lady, what is preventing you from the things you have to do, which hasn't been done, is not going to be easier tomorrow. It's going to be harder tomorrow.
[9:08] So, it is necessary for us to bear the yoke. And Anna, in her old age, Luke chapter 2, in her old age, and had lived with her husband seven years from her virginity.
[9:25] I won't comment. Prophetess. Prophetess. You want God to use you?
[9:39] Some things are unnecessary. The Bible talks about, and God sent an angel to a city called Nazareth, to a virgin called Mary. Oh, grace will cover us.
[9:54] Yes, it will. But there are sometimes certain qualifications are needed. So keep your testimony. You should be able to say that since I came to Christ, I have been here for Jesus.
[10:11] Yes. Yes. Some of the past is just a new manner. The past. Why are your accusers? Woman. John chapter 8. Why are your accusers? They said they are nowhere.
[10:22] He said, therefore, in John chapter 8, verse 11 to 14. He said, go. I also don't condemn you if they couldn't come, but go and sin no more. So after you meet, he says something must change. Yes.
[10:34] Why are you in church and every time? The same thing. Now that I'm talking about this, you see, some people feel very uncomfortable. But this is not your first time in church. So what's wrong with you?
[10:46] Change. Tell somebody, I think this one is purposely for you. Shout hallelujah. Hallelujah. And so it's very necessary.
[10:58] Anna stayed in the temple. Go to verse 37 quickly. Let me show you something the verse says. Okay. Verse 37 says that Anna stayed in the temple and continued in prayer and fastings until Jesus was born.
[11:11] And when Jesus was born, he came. She came and said, that's the Messiah. She had been in the church. That's her life. She was always in church continuing. So you have to continue something.
[11:24] When it comes to receiving from God, your continuity matters. When it comes to having encounters with God, don't just go. They say, okay, last week I fasted, so I can't fast. I finished my fasting in life. All right.
[11:35] All right. Let's get to Acts chapter 2 verse 41. Acts chapter 2 verse 41. And they all, that's already Allah. Let's go. And they all continue steadfastly in apostles' doctrine, fellowship, the breaking of bread, and praise.
[11:50] One more time. Let's go. Let's go. Say doctrine. Doctrine. What do you do about the doctrine?
[12:03] To be steadfastly. Steadily. Steadfastly. Not flakishly. Not irregularly. They continue steadfastly.
[12:14] In 1 Corinthians chapter 15 verse 58. It says that, be steadfast and unmovable. Always abounding in the work of the Lord. Knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
[12:26] So there is always the need for continuity steadfastly. Continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine. First of all, say doctrine. Say doctrine.
[12:37] Listen, your doctrine is so important. Your doctrine is what determines how your life turns out to be. Some people, everything, there are demons inside it.
[12:53] Everything, they have to see demons inside. It's a sign that you are not growing. If everything in your Christian life is about demons, it's likely.
[13:03] That you are not growing. Listen. The number of revelations you see is not a measure of your spirituality. I've seen this.
[13:18] And sometimes it's true. Brother, I saw you riding a Bentley. And then two weeks later, the guy got the Bentley. See, I said it. Oh, I saw you. I had a dream. I saw you.
[13:28] And I had a dream. I saw you. When people come to me and say, Pastor, I'm gifted. Even before I became born again, God has given you the gift of sin and dreams. Satan is deceiving you. Before you are not born again, God gave you gifts.
[13:41] Before you became born again. God gave you gifts before you became born again. What kind of unscriptural philosophy is that? It's a religious ideology. That, oh, I don't know God, but he gave me.
[13:54] God, oh, you have to be saved. In him. How can he give to you? It's your spirit. So your spirit must be born again. You must be alive before you can be taken to school. Yes. So don't make, oh, Jesus.
[14:08] I'm going to say something very good. Don't make major life decisions based on prophecy. Yeah. Wow. Some of you are clapping.
[14:20] You didn't understand what I said. It's a very strong statement I made. Because a prophecy can come to you. It may be pointing to last year or next five years.
[14:32] And so we profess, according to 1 Corinthians chapter 13, it says we profess that in part. We know in part. All right. So you can't know everything. So how do you make major life decisions?
[14:42] Seek counsel. Right. So back to what I was saying, continuity. You need to continue. They continue in apostles' doctrine. I was talking about doctrine, but I didn't go anywhere. Doctrine is important.
[14:55] Read your Bible. Make sure you are balanced when it comes to biblical doctrines. That's why I enjoy teaching. Try and understand God's word as much as you can, as much as you are taught, and begin to put God's word into practice.
[15:08] Then you begin to enjoy God. It doesn't need to continue in God's word. Challenges will come. In the book of Mark chapter 4, verse 17, the Bible says that, and when afflictions come for the word's sake, Mark 4, 17, affliction arises.
[15:23] When tribulation, persecution arises, for the word's sake, immediately they stumble. Because you hijacked the word. And so you couldn't continue. Now God has given you a word.
[15:34] Instead of saying that, it doesn't matter, come rain or sunshine, I know God is faithful. God is too faithful to fail. If you can't continue in the word of God, then your life, there's no guarantee that God can help you.
[15:48] Because the Bible says, as for God, his way is perfect. The word of the Lord, in Psalm 18, verse 30, as for God, his way is perfect. The word of the Lord is tried. So the word you have, it will be tried. The word of the Lord is tried.
[15:59] And it's a buckler, Psalm 18, verse 30, and it's a buckler to those who trust in him. The word will try you. Bible says in Psalm 105, verse 19, 18, 19, 20, 17, 18, 19, somewhere there, it talks about how Joseph, until the word of the Lord came, until his word came, the word of the Lord tried him.
[16:19] The word of the Lord came. Until the time that his word came to pass, the word of the Lord tested him. So you have to continue in the doctrine. Say continuity. Continuity.
[16:31] Continued in doctrine. Continued in the apostles, fellowship. I'll tell you what fellowship is. Continued in the apostles, breaking of bread. And continued in the apostles, prayer.
[16:44] These things, if we can continue, revival will hit our land. Amen. Bible talks about how Acts, Paul, Acts chapter 19, Paul withdrew the disciples to one school of Theranos, and for two years, they were meeting every day.
[17:00] This is only one man though. Paul, for two years, they were meeting every day, and he was teaching them. And Bible said, all Asia had God's word. Yeah. Because they were meeting regularly.
[17:10] That's continuity. You can't now play continuity. Thank you for listening. To hear more from David Entry, follow him on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
