[0:00] Welcome. Thank you for choosing to listen to another faith-building message by Pastor David Entry. Faith comes by hearing and by hearing the Word of God.

[0:12] May your knowledge of Jesus Christ increase as you listen. Today I want to just take the time to speak about the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.

[0:22] Just give you a brief overview, then we can go further into it. When you read the Bible, Genesis, Genesis is very interesting. Genesis is about a few people.

[0:33] So when you read Genesis chapter 1 and chapter 2, it tells you about creation. The creation account is in chapter 1 and chapter 2. And then chapter 3 comes in with the fall.

[0:46] And then chapter 4, chapter 5 continues with Adam's family. Now we have Cain and Abel. And then Noah comes in right from chapter 6, chapter 8. It talks about Noah.

[0:58] So have you noticed the chapters? The whole of creation had about just two chapters. The Bible has so many chapters. The whole of creation, just about two chapters. Adam and his initial family, when they sinned, chapter 3.

[1:09] Then he started a family in chapter 4, right? And so chapter 6, somewhere there, Noah comes in. That was chapter 8, chapter 9, chapter 10. Then we have the family of Noah, chapter 10.

[1:19] And then chapter 11, we talk about the dispersion, where they built the tower. They tried to build the tower to the heavens and God scattered them. So first 11 verses.

[1:31] Now theologians believe that the first 11 verses span a greater time period than the rest of the Bible. So that the Bible is not history. That should have more details, but it doesn't have much details.

[1:42] And then chapter 12, from chapter 12 to the end of Genesis, is about a certain man and his family. His son and his grandson and great-grandchildren. But Genesis, actually, a chunk of Genesis is about Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

[1:57] Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. And it will interest you to know that all these three main figures. Abraham occupied from chapter 12, rounding down to chapter 24, thereabout, and then he starts to get ready to die.

[2:11] Then Isaac. Say Isaac. Isaac. Isaac comes in for, takes about three chapters. Isaac didn't occupy too much. But the rest is about Jacob. And that's where most of us spend our lives. The God of Jacob.

[2:22] So the God of Abraham is knowing God as the initiator and the father. The God of Isaac is, what does that mean? And let's look at Isaac's story. In Galatians chapter 4, verse 23, it presents Isaac as the son of promise.

[2:35] But he who was of the born woman was born according to the flesh, and he of the free through the promise. Isaac is the son of promise.

[2:45] Let's all say that together. Isaac is the son of promise. One more time. Isaac is the son of promise. Isaac being the son of promise means that he was born through a promise. Actually, it was God himself who oversaw the conception of Isaac.

[3:01] God impregnated Sarah. Because the Bible said, and God visited Sarah. Genesis chapter 21, verse 1. And God visited Sarah, as he had said. And he did for Sarah, as he had spoken.

[3:14] So Sarah's conception, because Abraham's body was dead. God himself, they couldn't have had any child. So her womb was dead. God himself had to orchestrate and make sure it happened, just like Jesus was conceived.

[3:26] But the difference between the conception of Jesus and conception of Isaac is the conception of Jesus was without the involvement of any man at all. The seed didn't have to come from a man.

[3:36] But Isaac, the seed came from Abraham. But it's actually God who was working the process through. Did you understand that? So Isaac is very different from Jesus in that sense. Now, Isaac was a son of promise.

[3:46] He was born because God said, you have a son. He said, no, a laser will not be your heir. A son from your loins will be your heir. And he tried it with Ishmael.

[3:58] But it's not Ishmael God was talking about. Even though Ishmael was his biological son. Ishmael was, you just read it. He was the son of the born woman, the slave woman. And I've been reading Galatians for some time now.

[4:10] Galatians talks about we. We are the sons, not of the slave woman. And the natural Israel, talking about Jerusalem. But we are connected to heavenly Jerusalem.

[4:21] Okay, so Ishmael was not the son God was talking about. Isaac is the son, and he is the son of promise. And so God calls himself the God of Isaac. The God of the son of the promise. And do you know what?

[4:32] One characteristic you find about Isaac. Not much chapters were dedicated to Isaac. Because when you think about, look at Abraham. Abraham was minding his business sitting in Genesis chapter 12.

[4:42] He found a stool, the stool is called verse 1. He was just sitting on it. And then God comes to him and tells him that leave your mother's house. Leave your parents' house to a place where I will show you. Even though you don't know there, I will show you.

[4:53] And Abraham obeyed. And he told him that this is what I'm going to do with you. Chapter 15. And I came back to him, chapter 17. Said this is what, walk before me and be perfect. I'm going to bless you. And then eventually Isaac had a son.

[5:04] And Abraham had to even at the point of time travel to Egypt and came back. And Abraham went through a certain process. Because what he went through, do you know what? That's why Romans chapter 4 really celebrates Abraham.

[5:15] Because Abraham had to really believe God. Abraham had to really believe God. Isaac was a believer. But he didn't have to go through what Abraham went through. Even though his wife too was not having children.

[5:27] That's an interesting one, isn't it? Isaac's wife was not having children. The Bible said, and he entreated God on the behalf of his wife. And God heard his prayer. Men, pray for your wives. Stop complaining about your wife.

[5:38] Learn how to pray for your wife. Someone say hallelujah. Hallelujah. So what is unique about Isaac? Isaac was born as the child of promise just to inherit.

[5:50] So Abraham did the way he came to. Even when he came to digging wells. The wells he dug were wells his father has dug already. Look at Genesis chapter 26. Look at Genesis chapter 26 verse 18.

[6:00] It says here that, And Isaac dug again the wells of water which they had dug in the days of Abraham his father. For the Philistines had stopped them up after the death of Abraham.

[6:12] He called them by the names which his father had called them. Did you see that? There was nothing really new. The names his father had called the wells his water. He dug the wells that was dug in the days of his father. So Isaac really didn't bring anything new on the scene.

[6:24] So what is it about Isaac? In Isaac, we just come and inherit. Watch this. In Isaac, it's not your attainment, not your achievement, not your victory. Let me show you where we come in.

[6:35] Do you know that you didn't have to design your forgiveness? In Isaac, we receive. We don't work for. We receive in Isaac. So to know God as the God of Isaac, you must know God as the God who calls you to come and receive.

[6:47] When you come into Christ, you step into an inheritance. You step into an inheritance. So we come to Christ to receive. Guess what? We receive forgiveness of sins.

[6:58] We receive justification. We receive reconciliation. I like the way it says, 2 Corinthians chapter 5 verse 18. It says that, Now all things are of who? God. That's the father.

[7:08] He initiated. All things are of God. Who has reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ and has given us the ministry of reconciliation. And so he reconciled us to himself, not as reconciling ourselves to him.

[7:22] We just came into it and got it. I like the way it pushes Ephesians chapter 2. Ephesians chapter 2 verse 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6. But particularly verse 1. It says, And you who were dead in your trespasses.

[7:35] And you has he made alive. Who were dead in your trespasses. Can you imagine? A dead man. What can a dead man do for himself? So that was our state. But to know God as the God of Isaac, it means that knowing him as the God who does for us to come and receive.

[7:50] Now, if you don't know how to receive from God, you will suffer a lot of defeats in your life. Because sometimes the devil makes you think you don't qualify. And your history can stand against you so much and can stand in your face so much you think that, no, it cannot happen for you.

[8:03] But you must believe. Don't wait till you qualify. In Christ, Bible says, 2 Corinthians chapter 1 verse 20.

[8:13] It said, All the promises of God in him are yes. Did you see that? That's why we are the children of promise. Like Isaac, we have been born to inherit what the father has already initiated and accomplished.

[8:28] So we are not born to come and accomplish. We are not in Christ to come and achieve. We are in Christ to come and receive. Hallelujah. Shout hallelujah.

[8:39] Hallelujah. I see you receiving your prosperity. I see you receiving your victory. I see you receiving your breakthrough. I see you receiving your blessings. In the name of Jesus.

[8:52] It says in Ephesians chapter 2 verse 2. It says that when he said he has reconciled us, he has made us alive. It says that in which you once worked according to the course of this world, according to the praise of the power of the air, the spirit that now works in the sense of disobedience.

[9:07] Spirit is working in people. Some spirits, it's a bad spirit. It's working in people. And that's how we used to live our lives. Go to the verse 3. It says that amongst whom we all, okay, amongst whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lust of the flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath just as others.

[9:28] But now the story is different. The next verse, verse, say but God. But God. Oh, say but God. But God. I want you to say but God. But God. Sometimes when you look at your history, you look at your credit history and you look at it and then remember, but God.

[9:46] Because some of us, if you allow your history to dictate your future, you will never be married. Some of you, if you allow your history to dictate your future, there's no way God should use you. Even after you became born again. Are you guys what I'm saying?

[9:57] Some of you, if you allow your history to dictate your allotment in life, you will be the most unqualified. Oh, yeah. Oh, I like the way Paul said this. Paul says, it is a faithful saying, worthy of all acceptation, that Christ came to save sinners, of whom I am chief.

[10:12] All right. And then before then, he spoke about how he obtained mercy because he persecuted the church beyond measure. He said, thank you to God who counted me faithful, putting me in the ministry.

[10:24] Who? I was once a blasphemer, but I obtained mercy. Did you see that? He said that though I was formally a blasphemer. Say formally. Formally. Formally. That's a very important point.

[10:34] Okay. Say formally. Formally. Say formally. Formally. Now, this teaching, that's where it is. It's taking you for your formal to be really formal. Hallelujah. Formally. What was, what is supposed to be formally must be formally.

[10:47] Amen. But to know God as the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, some stuff must become past. Amen. You get it. But you must understand that you don't get some things because you deserve them from God.

[11:00] You get some things from God because Christ has obtained them already for us. And Bible said, God had mercy on us. And then the verse four talks about God who is rich in mercy. Even though we were dead in trespasses, but because of his great love towards us.

[11:14] Verse five. Because of his great love towards us, even though we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ. Do you know when we were made alive? Together with Christ. So when Christ was resurrected from the dead, we also resurrected with him.

[11:27] So you were made alive before you were even born. God made us alive before. So guess what? When you are born again, you just, I like this term, rather. It's a good word.

[11:38] You slide into something that has been waiting for you. You just slide into it. Like the way the key enters into a lock. The right key is there, right?

[11:49] You slide into what has already been attained for you. That's what Isaac did. So we are the sons of promise. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. So to know God as the God of Isaac, it means that knowing God as the God who provides for you just for you and joy.

[12:03] He said, I like the way he's posted in Romans chapter nine. He says that it's not of him that will it. Neither is it of him that ran it. Romans chapter nine, verse 15 and 16. Verse 16 in particular. It's not of him that will it. Neither is it of him that ran it.

[12:13] But it's of God who shows mercy. He said, for he said, I'll have mercy upon whom I'll have mercy. And I'll have compassion upon whom I'll have compassion. All right. So it's of God who shows mercy. Someone say mercy.

[12:24] Mercy. If you see someone's success, don't envy the person. Particularly if God is behind it, you'll be wasting your breath. You'll really be giving yourself a major battle you can't fight.

[12:35] If God is behind somebody's success, thank God for them. And as you bless it, because he said, I'll bless those who bless you. So the blessing of God is such that when it comes on you, anyone who celebrates you begin to attract someone.

[12:47] Amen. And anyone who opposes begin to face God's opposition. That's what he said. He said, Abraham, I'll bless you and make you a blessing.

[12:58] He said, and I'll bless all those, those who bless you. And I will curse those who curse you. Why? Because I have blessed you. Don't walk with someone who is fighting with experience. It can affect the longevity of your life.

[13:10] Some of you are eating medication on something that can be solved by disassociating yourself from somebody. And you keep the ties. And you are eating medication.

[13:22] Let me use the word eating. Thinking that your doctors are good though. No. The problem is coming from something you have contacted. Those of you who are a bit familiar, there are times with spiritual things. There are times someone can be so ill.

[13:33] And they say, okay, let's consult some spiritist or someone. And then you say, hey, this is against a man of God. Or this is against, go and make amends.

[13:44] Or restitution. Or go and ask for. Other than that, we can't do anything about this. So if you know what I'm talking about. Even when it comes to blessings. In Ephesians chapter 1 verse 3, it says, blessed be God who has already blessed us. So when you come in, you just begin to enjoy the blessing.

[13:57] If I were you, I would lift up my right hand and shout, I am blessed. I am blessed. So when we talk about the new creation realities, the blessings of the new creation, all these things, we just slide into it and it's ours.

[14:12] That's why in Acts chapter 20 verse 32, it talks about, I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and give you an inheritance among those who are.

[14:23] So it's not you who are going to secure it. It's the word. The word. The word. There is already an inheritance for us. So as soon as you connect yourself and you walk and align yourself, you begin to take shape.

[14:36] Somebody is blessed. I am he. So in the knowing God as the God of Isaac, it means that knowing him as the one who supplies, knowing him as the one who provides. He's the initiator as the God of Abraham.

[14:49] He's the supplier as the God of Isaac. But how about knowing him as the God of Jacob? We'll go a bit into it more. You can tell, but God of Isaac, there's not too much because just come and enjoy.

[15:00] That's all. God of Abraham, you have to be very careful and work with him. Let him start it. How about God of Jacob? Jacob is a supplanter. Jacob is, he will trick you.

[15:11] Don't joke with Jacob. You want to dupe him, he will strip you. He will be duped seven times before you realize that. You don't jupe Jacob. Jacob is just somebody.

[15:22] When he was being born, when he was coming out of the mother's womb, he was already holding somebody's shoes. Can you imagine? That's his nature. A child, before he became aware of himself, already was still in the first place.

[15:38] You see your Bible. Genesis chapter 25. Let's just have a quick look at the verse 29. Thank you, Holy Spirit. Now Jacob cooked a steel. And Esau came in from the field, and he was weary.

[15:51] And Esau said to Jacob, please feed me with that same red steel, for I am weary. Jacob must be very good. No, Jacob was always with his mom. He was always with his mom, and he didn't like going out.

[16:02] He was always around. So he would raise some domestic animals and stuff like that. And that's what. So he was doing stuff. But Esau was a hunter. He knew how to fight for things. He knew how to get things done.

[16:13] He would go out of the house and go and hunt. You know, hunting is a very difficult thing. Go and hunt. You are not guaranteed whether you can come back with something. So he would go and hunt. And one day, he was tired.

[16:25] When he came, he was hungry. He was hungry. And then when he came there, Jacob asked him, he didn't go anywhere. He prepared some wonderful steel. Babo said steel. Red. When you read the old king, he said, and Jacob sought potage.

[16:40] I like the way that he was sorting potage. You know, and so when he saw him, Esau said, I'm hungry. Give me some to eat. So he was about to say, wait, wait, wait.

[16:50] Oh, just give me some to eat, bro. Wait, wait, wait. And you know what he told him? He said, for me to give you this food, you have to exchange your birthright with me. Just this food I'm eating.

[17:03] He said, sell me your birthright today. Someone say, Jacob. Yeah. He said, sell me your birthright today, this very day, before I can give you that.

[17:17] And you know what elder brother said? See, most of the time, what belongs to you, you don't put value on it. Most of the time. That's why some of us, we don't value our children the way we should. Our husbands the way we should.

[17:28] Our wives the way we should. So Jacob said, you want the food? You want my food? Give me your birthright and I'll give you my food. And look out. Do you know what Esau said? Ah! Esau said, look, I'm about to die.

[17:41] So what is this birthright to me? One meal. One meal. One meal. Sister, just one night's meal. One meal. Brother, one meal.

[17:51] He said, help me. Help me, I'm dying. He said, help me, I'm dying. No wonder he doesn't want to marry you.

[18:09] One meal. Simple. Simple rent you pay. You don't want. So you have moved out of your house to his house. One meal. One meal.

[18:19] Maybe just paying rent for one year. You don't want. You want to save money. Saving money. Someone say hallelujah.

[18:35] Hallelujah. I am hungry. I'm dying. He over-exactuated his problems. He over-exactuated his problem. Oh, I went and took the loan because I went to borrow that money because, you know, my classmates are coming here for a big party and there's no sofa.

[18:58] And one of my classmates is coming with his mom and his mom has a hip problem and he has to sit down. So he went to borrow money to buy furniture, auto-punic chair.

[19:09] But you see how we can make excuses. Because, oh, this is urgent. I need to do it. I need to do it.

[19:19] This is urgent. If I don't do it my entire life, my entire life will be haunted. This urgent, I have to do it. Sister, it's better he dies. Sister, let him die. Them guys said I need to eat this red stew.

[19:31] Red stew. So, he said, remember what did he tell us about the other part of their food? He said it's just a stew. He was so red. He's red. Red.

[19:46] Listen, do you know why Jacob got a blessing? He's always desired a blessing. And so, only thing he would do to get a blessing, whether he would, that was his physical strength, to get a blessing.

[19:58] So, as soon as his brother came, he said, you give me the birthright, which was the blessing that is passed from Abraham to Isaac, which is supposed to go to the first son. Because that's how it's arrangement. It always goes to the first son.

[20:09] So, he's coming to, that's why he wanted to come first. But he didn't get the chance to come first. So, as they were going, he's been planning how to get this thing. So, the opportunity came. He said, I'm hungry. He said, hey, hey, hey, don't touch the food yet.

[20:20] He said, sign the dotted line that you are giving me your birthright. The man to say, what's birthright? Take it. He said, I got it. So, he sought his birthright. And the rest became his true brother.

[20:31] So, that tells you Jacob. Jacob knew how to trick you to get it. And then, when he came to his, his father was about to die. And he said, now it's time for me to pass the blessing.

[20:43] The mother heard it. And the father told the brother, go and get me some of the best meat you've been getting from the bush. The father used to like bush meat. Isaac.

[20:53] Every man behaves in a certain way. And if you know what the man likes, it's better you align yourself with what he likes. So, that you can catch what he carries. That's how spiritual things are.

[21:04] It's very interesting. Someone gets in. This is what happens in many people. So, there are times you can tell this man. In fact, Elijah, Elijah, Elijah told Gaijit. When you went, didn't my spirit go with you?

[21:16] My spirit go with you. When you were following Nehman for that booty. And that's what happens. And people cannot be hanging around such great anointing in the house.

[21:28] But how can you be eating in such a great atmosphere? And yet, you are sitting down. Someone is saying negative things about the church. You are spoiling their grace for yourself and your children.

[21:40] And you'll be wondering, why is this still not working for me? Why am I still like that? I'm sorry. She know how I want. She know how I want. And I'm not going to see a husband. I don't even know why. Because even when the pastor was talking about that, sister, humble yourself and pray and fast and consecrate yourself.

[21:54] You are saying, why is the pastor always telling the women of? Why is the pastor? See, there and there, you miss it. You miss it. Because you got distracted by the flesh.

[22:05] And that is what, if you are going to enjoy God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of Jacob always will focus on the flesh. To be beating the flesh. So when Isaac was coming to declare the blessing, he wanted to, because he likes bushmeat.

[22:19] He said, please bring me bushmeat. That just declared a blessing. It was like in the family. It's not too always like the food. There's something connected. Even Jesus. Judas ate and something happened.

[22:29] Jesus said, unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood, what I carry, you won't get it. Anyway, so he said, go and bring food and let me bless you. When he went, the mother also heard it. Make sure you are in your mother's good books.

[22:40] As much as you can. Some of them you can't. But as much as you can. Because they are fighting your father. And they saw you shaking hands for your father. That's all. They decided not to forgive you. That's a political matter. Human beings can be dangerous.

[22:52] When politics enter our hearts, we don't care who will suffer. So human beings are like that. So I asked this wife, Rebecca, came. And she said, you know, your dad has a man to give the blessing to your mother. Don't worry.

[23:02] He asked for bushmeat. I've been married to him for several years. I know how to do that bushmeat. You don't have to travel anywhere. I know everywhere.

[23:14] There's just a corner shop just here. I'll fix a bushmeat. I'll sort. And I'll spice it so well that. So as soon as the bushmeat came, the father said, hey, Jacob, Isaac, Esau, you've come back so early.

[23:28] And he said, oh, yes, yes, yes. I just managed to sort something else. He said, I brought it, daddy. Eat it. He said, no, because he was blind. You see, the vulnerability of a man of God. He was blind at his age.

[23:39] So bring the meat. He said, my before, let me check and see if you are my son. Because your voice, the voice, the voice, the voice. And it failed him because the mother showed him, put artificial wig on your skin.

[23:57] Brazilian. Brazilian. So the brother came. And the father said, no, this is the arm of my son.

[24:07] But the voice. And I'm sure Isaac, Jacob will be saying, eat quickly. Just bless me. Eat and bless. Eat. Eat. And he downloaded the blessing of the guy. When he finished, the elder brother is now going to finish these rounds.

[24:18] The one who betrayed himself by selling his bedrides because he was hungry. He came back. He said, daddy, I brought them. He said, who is this? He said, I'm Esau. He said, but who brought me the food to eat to bless him? He said, your brother.

[24:31] And then Esau said, this boy has cheated me again. That's not the first time. The guy was good at it. And he said, okay, bless me too.

[24:42] He said, the blessing is not. Like sometimes, listen, let me tell you this. This is very important. He said, but daddy, bless me too. He said, I've given the blessing. He said, don't you have anything little? He said, but let me just.

[24:53] You will be his servant. Yeah. You will be his servant. And he started declaring. Then when he finished the blessing, he said, I'll kill my brother. I'll kill my brother.

[25:04] But Jacob left home. And left home and went and saved. Sorry, Jacob left home, ran away from him with nothing. The one who was blessed. But he had to run for his life. And the mother told him that, no, go to your uncle.

[25:16] Your uncle in that other town. You'll be safe. Because your uncle is also a terrible man. Yeah. I think it's in the bloodline. The mother's bloodline. The mother's bloodline. Can you imagine?

[25:27] So Jacob went. The mother's bloodline. The woman was dodgy anyway. And gave birth to her son who was dodgy. And she had her brother who was dodgy. So he sent. Yeah, he was the chief.

[25:39] So he went to his brother, his uncle's house. And then he was interested in one of his cousins. And he was interested in Rachel.

[25:49] He said, you want my daughter to marry? You have to work seven years. I'll give her to you. So he worked for the woman. Seven years. Work him. So after seven years, they did the ceremony. And they deceived him. They brought the older one who had a squinted eye.

[26:01] She was not. She was not. She was not as cool as the younger one. So they brought her. And then when they brought her at night, he woke up and said, hey, who is this?

[26:16] He said, no. So in the morning, he went to the father. He said, what have you done to me? Because he has already signed the contract. See? Now, watch this. Do you know why that was happening to him?

[26:26] All right. God was breaking something in him. God was. The Holy Spirit was working on him all along. Right from the mother's womb, he wanted to be the first son. He didn't get it.

[26:37] He deceived his brother, thinking by so do, he will get the blessing. The father declared that the blessing, after the blessing, he left home very hungry. Left home destitute. He went to his brother's house. But because he's the seed of Abraham, some blessings was manifested.

[26:50] But that was not a blessing. That was not a blessing God was talking about. But as long as there are some elements in his life, the blessing cannot manifest. You can know God as the initiator, as the God of Abraham.

[27:01] You can know God as the God of Isaac, the one who has prepared for us to inherit. But until you know God as the God of Jacob, all the what he has secured for your life cannot really manifest.

[27:12] And you have to know God as the God of Jacob. So why are we talking about this God of Jacob? Because Jacob is a trickster. Jacob is a supplanter. Jacob is a clever man. Jacob is very intelligent. Jacob is very strong.

[27:23] His soul life was powerful. And for God to be, for you to experience God as the God of Jacob, he has to break that soul life. I'll explain it. Genesis chapter 32.

[27:34] Genesis chapter 32. Before you go to the 32, just put your finger on the 31. Look at 31. 31 verse 40. Genesis chapter 31 verse 40 says that, that's Jacob, you know. There I was. In the day the drought consumed me and frost by night.

[27:48] And my sleep departed from my eyes. Jacob, when he went to live with labor. The guy went through a lot. He went through a lot. God was trying to teach him that you are very clever. But what I want to do with your life, it doesn't take your cleverness.

[28:01] Genesis chapter 32 verse 25. He saw that. Okay. Let's look at verse 24. Jacob was left alone. And a man wrestled with him. You see the load. And a man. The man. See the man.

[28:11] Capital M. That is pointing to something stronger. All right. And a man wrestled with him. Who is the man and the God at the same time? That's interesting. Jesus. Okay. But that is what theologians call Christophanes.

[28:23] All right. Christophanes were pre-appearances of Christ in the Old Testament. Before he was born in the New Testament. So he appeared physically. But they didn't know anything about Jesus. That was God man.

[28:35] All right. So. But let's not. Let's just. He. So a man wrestled with him until the break of day. Now when he saw that he was. He did not prevail against him.

[28:45] This man was not prevailing against Jacob. Jacob must have been a very strong guy. Listen. The earlier God prevails over that marital issue. The better. The earlier God prevails over your desire.

[28:57] The better. That your marital pursuit. Sister. The earlier you let God prevail. The brother. You are using all kinds of skills. To try and catch the women. The earlier God prevails.

[29:08] The better. The earlier. You are using all kinds of energy. To try and secure the job. Fighting people. Doing that. The earlier God prevails. And some of us.

[29:19] The advance have been laid on us. Preaching have come. Consecration. Preachings have come. All kinds of preachings have come. But still. God is not prevailing. God is wrestling with you.

[29:30] But he's not prevailing. So it has deferred the manifestation. But God is not prevailing. A man wrestled with him. Put it on the screen. And the man. When he saw that he was not prevailing. And he did not prevail again.

[29:40] And what did he do? When he saw he wasn't prevailing. He touched the whole. The circuit of his hip. And the circuit of Joseph. He was out of joint. As he wrestled with him. The guy was still fighting. But the strongest part.

[29:51] Or the strongest joint. Of the human anatomy. Is the hip. All right. The hip. That's where the strength is. The perfect girdle. Not the neck. Not the shoulder.

[30:02] Not the back. Not the knee. Not the ankle. It is there. And when God saw. That he was not prevailing. The Bible says that the angel. Hitting. One of the titles of the messages. Is.

[30:13] On Jacob. Is. The mortal blow of God. God masters in giving people. Mortal blow. Sometimes it's going to be. On your certificate.

[30:25] Sometimes it's going to be. On your job. Sometimes it's going to be. On your beauty. Sometimes it's going to be. On your account. Sometimes it's going to be. On your intelligence. On your skill. Those things.

[30:35] Everybody praise you on. For. The things. The things that are. It's distracting you. God is about to give somebody. A mortal blow. That's the God of Jacob. Right. And guess what. For the rest of his life. When you see Jacob.

[30:46] So. He was a blessed man now. You need it. That's it. So. For the rest of your life. You have to rest. Lean on a staff. As you walk. Lean on something. Lean on God.

[30:57] Because. You are too clever. You are too good. You are too smart. You are too intelligent. You depend on yourself. So. Even though. You know God.

[31:07] As the initiator. Even though. You know God. As the provider. You are not able to depend on him. Because. You are good. And God. Said.

[31:18] I need to hold that strong part of your body. And. Give him a mortal blow. And see what happened. And I said. When he saw that he did not prevail. He touched the whole of his hip. And. And the second of Joseph's hip.

[31:28] Was out of joint. As he rested with him. Go to the next verse. Verse 26. And he said. Let me go. For day breaks. But he said. I will not let you go. Unless you bless me. See the guy has always fought for the blessing. And it was. It's called a penial experience.

[31:41] The next verse. And. He said. What's your name? He said. Jacob. Then he said. No. He said. Your name shall be no longer Jacob. But Israel. For you have struggled with God and men.

[31:51] And have prevailed. Israel. That was where the blessing took place. He. He was changed from Jacob. To Israel. When God finally succeeded.

[32:02] In disconnecting his strength. Some of us have so many powerful people in position. And God. For God to be behind that lifting. Sometimes he will show you. That he doesn't need those powerful people. So he will let them disappoint you.

[32:14] He will let them let you down. So that after. They have let you down. And you know how to look up to him. You can know God as the provider. You can know God as the initiator. But if you do. God.

[32:25] God will have to train you. And how does he do that? The Bible says that. A father. In Proverbs chapter 13 verse 24. It says that. He who spares the Lord. Hates his son. But he who loves.

[32:35] Loves him. That's what? Discipline him promptly. How? Promptly. Anyone who loves their son. How? What does the blessing do? Discipline the son. Well if God loves you.

[32:46] He's going to discipline you. He will bring. Things that people do. And get away with. You won't get away with it. That's the God of Jacob. That's the God of Jacob. In the book of.

[32:58] In the passage. In the book of Hebrews chapter 12. Verse 7. Verse 8. Verse 9. Please look at this on the screen. This is serious. It says that. If you endure chastening. We know what chastening is.

[33:09] Discipline. Corrections. If you endure. How does the amplifier put it? Maybe you will give us other words instead of chastening. You must submit to and endure what? Correction. For discipline. That's what chastening means.

[33:19] Okay. Go back to that. Give that back again. If you endure chastening. God deals with you as with sons. For what son is there whom a father does not chasten?

[33:30] Do you see that? So if God said I'm your father. I'm going to be disciplining you. Some rubbish in your life. I'll clear it. Doesn't make sense why it took Jacob his whole lifetime. Jacob captures more.

[33:41] Jacob. Do you know what happened? Genesis chapter 37. Jacob was the deceiver. His children finally deceived him. Now God has broken him. Some people are now deceiving him. Hebrews chapter 12 verse 8.

[33:51] Look at the verse 8. Verse 8 says that. Thank you Jesus. But if you are without chastening. Of which all have become partakers. Then you are illegitimate and not a son.

[34:03] Did you see that? If you are a son. God will discipline you. If you are a son. When I say son. It's generic. It's not just men. It's both men and women. You are a son.

[34:14] You see. A Christian. Who sleeps around. God will discipline you. You won't get away with it. Other people may do. And get away with it. No one will know. But also you. The whole company will get to know about it. So you better stay away. You change figures.

[34:27] People have been changing figures in Islam. As for you. And you may. See. It depends on how you get the discipline. God can discipline you in prison. You will get a sack.

[34:38] I'm not prophesying. But God can allow for you to. Others did it. And yours is even smaller. See. The God of Abraham is corresponding to the father. The God of Isaac corresponds to the son.

[34:49] The God of Jacob corresponds to the Holy Spirit. Not that the Holy Spirit is Jacob. But the way the Holy Spirit. His assignment is to work and chop our flesh away. To work and chop our flesh away.

[34:59] And to be. To fall in the category of God's people. You must know God. Not just as the God of Abraham. Not just as the God of Isaac. But also. That much.

[35:10] Much of our Christian journey. Is God. We're discovering God as the God of Jacob. He will break your strength. He will break that thing that makes you feel very important. Your intelligence. Your. Your smartness.

[35:20] Your cleverness. Jacob knew how to scheme his way through life. He will break it all. So that you come to a place where you say. As for me. There's nothing again. Apart from God. God is the only one I look up to.

[35:32] You don't depend on your natural strength anymore. Your natural strength is too strong. The soul life is too strong. The soul. Is too strong. He wants to break it. So that his spirit can have an access.

[35:43] Have freedom in your life. So that. That's what is making of us undoing. It's not that God doesn't want to bless us. But. We are too strong. In our strength. In ourselves. We are too good.

[35:55] In our strength. And as long as. You see. That's what deceives are. Because your good part. You want to hold on to it. Your bad part. God forgive me. But your good part. But God. Will come after everything.

[36:05] So that. At the end of it. You will say that. If I am anything. It's just because of it. Thank you for listening. To hear more from David Entry. Follow him on Facebook.
