[0:00] Welcome. Thank you for choosing to listen to the Spirit-filled Word by David Entry. A time to hear God's Word is a time to be visited. May you receive a visitation as you listen to this message.
[0:14] Be blessed. Romans chapter 8, reading from verse 22.
[0:24] For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth. I'm reading from New King James. Labors with birth pangs together until now.
[0:38] Not only that, but we also who have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, we are eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body.
[0:56] For we are saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope. For why does one still hope for what is seen?
[1:09] But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance. Likewise, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses.
[1:26] For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings, which cannot be uttered.
[1:47] Amen. The believer's prayer. The believer's prayer is a very important thing.
[2:02] The believer's prayer. Someone say the believer's prayer. What makes Christian prayer different is we pray to the Father. There's faith in our prayer.
[2:16] And it's Christ in our prayer. So the Christ factor in our prayer is what makes our prayer different. The Christian prayer is always in a, it's never private.
[2:31] You can pray in secret, but it doesn't mean it's a private prayer because at least four. You, God, Father, God, the Son, God, the Holy Spirit. But as soon as you get the demons, Satan gets quickly interested.
[2:46] So he shows up to come and stop your prayers or disrupt your prayers. So yesterday I taught on how Satan comes, some of the style systems he used to stop our prayers or distract our prayers.
[2:59] So Satan is there. When he's coming, he doesn't come alone. He comes with demons. So when he begins to pray, God the Father, God the Son, God the Spirit are there.
[3:10] Satan and demons are there. Angels of God also show up to do biddings, to take orders of your words or take your words and begin to work with it based on the instructions of the Father.
[3:21] So principalities and angels or angels also show up because then not only that, the departed saints, they watch us.
[3:35] Bible says we are surrounded with so great a cloud of, sorry, a cloud of witnesses. So they are watching us. They are keenly interested in what we are doing.
[3:46] You have come to the spirits of just men made perfect. Today the reading was interesting. The mountain. They said don't come near the mountain. Even if a dog comes near, an animal comes near, they will strike.
[3:58] God said no, don't come near. God is about to show up on them. That scared them so much that they begged Moses. So in Hebrews, Hebrews picks it up and he said we haven't come to that kind of mountain but we have come to Mount Zion, the city of the living God.
[4:11] Hallelujah. So that's the, we have met God but not on that kind of mountain because of Christ. Praise God. So, the, the company of the saints, the spirits of the saints are there but not just that.
[4:26] When you begin to pray, as yesterday I explained, it's like you have joined a telephone conversation that was going on before you came in. So there is this online prayer that is always going on.
[4:38] It's been going on from the days of the apostles. apostles. Always there's, there's online prayer between heaven and earth by believers. So as soon as you say, not my father who art in heaven, our father, you have joined the team.
[4:53] So you have joined, what is going on already, you just joined. So you are not alone. When it comes to believers prayer, you are not alone. You are, the others, once you start praying, you have joined the others in praying.
[5:04] So Jesus says that when you pray, say our father, not my father because the others, other believers are already praying and you join them in saying our father. Hallelujah. So that is, that makes the believers prayer unique.
[5:18] And we pray to the father when we start praying. Our prayer is to the father. Our, so our prayer is to the father and through the son in the name of the son.
[5:33] So he said, you remember John chapter 14, verse 13, John chapter 14, verse 14, John chapter 15, 16, John, John 16, 23, 25, 26, all he says that it was, whoever you ask in my name.
[5:46] So in my name, we go to the father through the son. So we have the father to listen to our prayers. We have a son to take our prayers to the father and we have the Holy Spirit to help us in praying.
[6:03] The believers prayer. Now, so we just read in Romans chapter, eight, eight, verse 26, that likewise, the spirit himself, the spirit also, likewise, the spirit also helps us in our limitations, in our weaknesses.
[6:22] What's the limitation? That is what they went to Jesus to ask for. So he says, what was the problem? What's our problem? Romans chapter eight, verse 26. What's the problem?
[6:33] What's our weakness? I can't hear you. We actually don't know what we should pray for.
[6:45] So they went to Jesus. They said, teach us how to pray. Or teach us to pray. Jesus said, when you pray, these are the things you should pray for. See, our father who art in heaven, hello be thy name, thy kingdom come.
[6:57] These are the things you should pray for. But still, because of our human limitations, sometimes, we will miss it. You can't just be praying from your mind, hoping that God would accept it.
[7:11] And yet, you are praying, you are not praying the will of the father. You are praying something else. And it's very easy to be full of our minds, what we assume, and we just pray it, expecting that it will match the will of God, or God will just take it, because that's what we need.
[7:31] But the spirit of God himself has come. That's why Jesus said, you should rejoice that I'm going, because if I don't go, the spirit will not come. So the spirit has come, to help us in our weaknesses, in our infirmity.
[7:46] He says that, but when the comforter comes, when, whom the father will send in my name, he will teach you all things. He will guide you into the truth. He will help you, the advocate, 16, John 16, from the top 30 particular.
[8:00] He is our helper. He is our comforter. He is the advocate. When he comes, he help us to do what needs to be done. So then, when you hit the place of prayer, we, every believer must begin to learn, how to lean, on the Holy Spirit in prayer.
[8:21] Why? Because that's why he's here. He's here to help us, not to pray for us, but help us in our prayers. Now, when the spirit of God is helping us, in our prayers, he's either, bypassing, two ways, because sometimes, you can just pray from your mind, and off, and sometimes, you can also be praying, and your mind is not there.
[8:46] You are praying, your mind is not there. The Holy Spirit, when he comes to help us, he comes to help us, in our prayers, sometimes, he can pray, help us to pray, with our mouths, and bypass our minds.
[8:59] And there are times, too, he can just, help us to pray, with our minds, and bypass, our mouths, as it were, our own ways.
[9:12] Pastor, can you explain it? Let me start by explaining, how he, helps us to pray, and bypasses our mind. so that, father to child, spirit, spirit to spirit, right, hallelujah.
[9:38] Romans chapter, 8 verse 26, said likewise, the spirit himself, or the spirit also, helps us in our weakness, for we know not how, how, for, for we do not know, what we should pray for, as we ought.
[9:58] We don't know, what we, as we ought. But, the spirit himself, so the spirit takes over himself.
[10:11] It doesn't stop you from praying, but you are praying, but he is doing it. The spirit himself, maketh intercession for us. The spirit himself, our weakness, and limitation is, what am I supposed to pray for?
[10:28] Because you are here, something might be happening somewhere, yet you don't know, and you are supposed to intercede for it. You might be here, and, next week, something has been planned against you.
[10:40] And you are in a prayer meeting like this. You are in a prayer meeting like this, and something is planned against you in July. Why? But you don't know, and you are in a prayer meeting, Holy Ghost must help someone.
[10:55] The Holy Ghost must get involved. The spirit himself. The spirit himself. Somebody say, the spirit himself. The spirit himself. Say, the spirit himself.
[11:06] The spirit himself. Because of our human limitations, we have to be able to lean on the spirit, for the spirit himself. The spirit himself, maketh intercession.
[11:21] Makeeth. Makeeth intercession. We found out that Jesus makes intercession for us, but the spirit himself also maketh intercession. For us.
[11:32] How does he do it? With groans. Groans. That's how I read verse 22 and 23. The whole earth groans. Verse 23. We ourselves also groan within ourselves, for the adoption of the redemption, for the manifestation of the sons of God.
[11:48] We ourselves. So, we ourselves also grow. We are the first food. Even ourselves. Groaning within ourselves. Waiting for the adoption. To wait. The redemption of our bodies.
[11:59] So, there are some limitation, challenges that we go through. We groan. But we have already, we are the first fruit of the spirit. And, we are the first fruit. In other words, God's, God's, redeemed people.
[12:12] And, we, we groan within ourselves. Even though we have tasted redemption, we also groan this body, this, this human life. Look at the way you felt today in the fasting.
[12:24] If you were a spirit, this would not be a problem. You just be floating and fasting. But, we, we groan. We ourselves groan.
[12:35] So, you can see the groanings are going on. Yes, yes, yes, yes. The creation is groaning. Because, Satan is butchering creation. And, we ourselves also groan.
[12:48] And, it says that, we, we groan because, we have not, we hope for something that we have not experienced yet. Because, if we have experienced, why do we hope for it? We have experienced, so we are hoping.
[12:59] Then, it says the spirit, but in the same way, the spirit also, the spirit, see, it says, likewise, that means in the same way. So, the topic here is about groaning. The creation, verse 22, creation, 22 says that, for we know that, whole creation groaneth, and traveleth, in, in pain, until, until now.
[13:20] For, since Adam, creation has not been normal. That's why this, earthquakes, and people say, if there's God, why, why, why all this? That's creation is groaning. Creation is groaning.
[13:32] And, then it says that, we ourselves also groan. Even though, we are the first fruit. We also groan, because we are the physical. We are in the physical. Then it says that, likewise, the spirit also himself, he said, in the same way, the spirit also, so, we are groaning, because of the difficult position, we are, we are in, so long as life is concerned.
[14:00] When I say life, natural life is concerned. Natural life can be so, demanding. Sometimes, financial crisis, can be so, crashing. Sometimes, marital challenges, can be so, frustrating.
[14:16] Sometimes, emotional issues, can be so, besetting. Sometimes, life can be so, confusing. Even though, you are born again.
[14:27] Sometimes, even the way, you want to work with God, the struggles, about the way, you like this boy, you don't understand. The way you feel, about this girl, about somebody's wife, you don't understand.
[14:41] You are a believer, but you don't understand. And you hate that. You don't like it, but your flesh. Your flesh.
[14:53] So, we ourselves, grown in this body. But as we are grown in, you see, when we want to pray, sometimes you want to pray, you are sleeping. Sometimes, you want to pray, you are tired.
[15:08] Sometimes, you want to pray, and you are bored. Sometimes, you don't see why, this thing is not working. Sometimes, you are struggling to, spare or give your tithe. I think I should stand here, and say that more.
[15:20] Sometimes, you are struggling, to give your tithe. You are struggling, to give your tithe. You are struggling, to obey God. You are struggling, to forgive. You are struggling, to stay focused. This, you grown in this body.
[15:31] It's not that you are bad. You just want to do, the right thing, and you are pushing, by guess to a time. There are times, you are just groaning. You are groaning.
[15:43] You are groaning. In your prayer life, especially. That's why, you chose to come late. Because, this prayer, and you are, you say, it's the children, who are not ready, on time. You just, you just, you just don't like the prayer.
[16:01] And then, some people, when they are leading a prayer, Yana, and you are thinking, you too, break the prayer, and give another topic. It's not breaking. Yana, Yana, and you just sit down, you are tired.
[16:13] You are tired. So, you are groaning. Likewise, the spirit himself, makes intercession, on our behalf, or for us.
[16:29] For we do not know, what we will pray for, as we ought. But, the spirit himself, makes intercession, with groan. What are groanings?
[16:43] Groanings, are, sounds, without words. There are times, when the spirit, takes over your brain, you are not using words, but, you are saying something, you are making sound, and you are in the spirit, the spirit is communicating things, and transacting things, in the spirit.
[17:13] Your mind, can't even comprehend, what you are doing, but your spirit, is deeply connected. Sometimes, groans, sometimes, through sighing.
[17:29] Listen, when you get, you hit in the prayer, on the prayer altar deep, there are times, you don't have words. There are times, your mind is not even active, but your spirit, you can't, you are, that's the times, you begin to transact things.
[17:45] You are not saying, someone near you, like Hannah, someone near you, can't hear what you are saying, can hear words, can hear sound, but can't get it.
[17:57] So, this one, is not so, based on your mind, but it's based, on an expression, from your spirit, the Holy Spirit himself, is helping us, because it's groaning, within us.
[18:07] and then, other times, he's sighing, and then, so groaning, sighs, and other times, tears. You come, he will shed tears, I think there's a songwriter, or somewhere in the summer, I think there's a songwriter, who says that, you know, in those days, in the past, there were, I don't know if some cultures, practice that, but sometimes, when someone, is bereaved, and, family members, are not there, sometimes, they will cry, and put it in a bottle.
[18:40] Yeah, instead of sending a card, they will send tears. Yeah, in some cultures, in the past, I don't know if some, so they'll put tears, in a bottle, my tears in the bottle, and I send it to you.
[18:56] So, they save the tears. Yeah. Like Peppa Pig.
[19:13] You have a lot of it. So, so there's a song, I think the old time, I sung a song, my sign, and my tears, save it.
[19:27] So, there are times, where expression, of, prayer, can be in tears, under the influence, of the Holy Spirit. Not you are crying, because you are sad, but you are crying, because of this expression, the words cannot, say what you're saying.
[19:43] The Holy Spirit, himself helper. So that one, is not so much on your mind, based on your mind, but it's based on, something that's coming out, of your mouth, or your expressions, that the Holy Spirit, and then the, other one, is, before I even go on, to the other one, when we talk about, the Holy Spirit helping us, in fact, it would be nice, to title it, the Spirit himself.
[20:07] When we talk about, the Holy Spirit helping us, in the, in Jewish times, I'm sure now, they may still have it, but, there were people, who were professional, letter writers.
[20:22] Professional, letter writers, who are professional, letter writers. You go to them, when you have a letter, you want to write a letter, you go to, in fact, now they are even book writers, you just, narrate what you want to write, and they will put it in, words, proper words, to capture your thoughts, and your feelings.
[20:40] So, letter writers, they, you have a letter to write, to somebody, but, you are not sure, how to, put the words, you want to capture, so you go and tell them, you go, you book an appointment, you go, and you tell them, this is how I'm feeling, and this is the, this is the, and then, they will put it in ways.
[21:02] And then, you pay, and then, do this, and then, letter, professional letter writers, they are, some of them, I think, amenuensis, amenuensis, they will write it for you.
[21:15] So, you have something to say, but you can't say it properly. So, they will help you, to say what you want to say. Likewise, the spirit, himself, help us, in our infirmities.
[21:31] Because, there is a way, we are supposed to communicate, to God, but the spirit himself, has to take it over. So, with groanings, with sighing, with tears, and sometimes, with certain words, that, are, outside of your thinking.
[21:48] So, you speak words, you don't understand. He said, if any man speaks in tongues, 1 Corinthians, chapter 14, verse 13, and 14, he said, wherefore, let him that speaks, in an unknown tongue, pray that he may interpret.
[22:09] The next verse, for, I, if I pray, in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding, is, my mind is not involved, but my spirit is active.
[22:28] Now, in verse 18, Paul said, I thank God, that I speak in tongues, more than you. What? So, then you want to be hot, you don't speak in tongues.
[22:44] Apostle Paul said, me, I went through shipwreck, snake, snake, beat me, I didn't die. Second Corinthians, chapter 11, things that he's been through, they, they stoned him, they thought he was dead, he got up again.
[22:57] Do you know, he said, I speak in tongues, more than you all. I speak in tongues, those who say, I don't have to speak in tongues, they don't know. I speak in tongues, can you imagine?
[23:11] I thank God, I speak with tongues, more than you all. Wow. No wonder, he did far more, than us all.
[23:25] The spirit himself, helps us. When you begin, you see, in Jude, verse 20, it says that, pray, build up your, in the Holy Spirit, praying way, praying way, praying way, yesterday, we found out from, Ephesians chapter 6, from verse 10, 11, 12, 13, then it says that, we are not fighting against, flesh, and blood, and the Holy Spirit, and all that.
[23:56] Then it says that, therefore put on the whole armor of God, and spoke about, the, the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, spoke about the, um, belt of truth, verse 14, please.
[24:10] Spoke about the, having the, get a light belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, 15, are feet short with the, operation of the gospel of peace, 16, shield of faith, we can quench the fire, and then 17, the word of God, and then 18, look at it, let's all read 18 together.
[24:33] Pray always, with all, and as a nation, in the spirit, and watching there, unto you, Lord, and as a nation. Praying always, with all prayer, and supplication, where?
[24:48] In the spirit. Jude said that, building up your most holy faith, praying, in the Holy Ghost. People, when they receive Holy Ghost baptism, and start speaking in tongues, they are not sure, where they can speak it.
[25:02] Hmm, can I, can I speak it in a car? Can I, can I, can I speak it in my bed? What, what should I do? Can I only speak it in church? Or, sometimes, there are people, who have prescribed, where you can pray, and where you can't pray.
[25:18] Bible never tell, tells us, where we can pray, where we can pray. It only tells us, one place to pray. There's only one place to pray. Go there and pray.
[25:29] Where should we pray? It's a pray, in the spirit. Pray, not in your bedroom, not in your toilet, not in the church.
[25:42] It's a pray, where? In the spirit. Where should we be praying? In the spirit. Where should we be praying? In the spirit. So, when you come to church, and you're about to pray, pray, in the spirit.
[25:57] When you are in the car, and you want to pray, where should you pray? Pray, in the spirit. When you are at home, and you want to pray, where should you pray? Pray, in the spirit. so we have been enjoined and instructed and taught by scripture to pray in the spirit pray in the Holy Ghost so he said that praying with always with all prayer in the spirit or as some of my charismatic many years ago brothers in the spirit praying always in the spirit so we pray in the Holy Spirit and he helps us in our weaknesses he's our helper in our prayer life and he helps us in our praying by making intercessions for us with groanings he also helps us in our prayer by expressing ourselves through sighing and tears he also helps us in our prayers through words but they are not intelligible words so Paul said
[27:17] I pray in tongues more than you all if any man verse 2 1 Corinthians 14 if any man he who speaks in an unknown tongues for he does not speak to man but unto God that's more important because he said when I pray in tongues my mind is unfruitful my spirit prayeth that's so important if I pray in an unknown tongue my spirit prayeth he said if you pray in tongues you are praying to God if you pray in tongues my spirit prayeth if I pray in tongues I'm praying to God if I pray in tongues my spirit prayeth so the Holy Spirit can help us in our prayer language when it comes to the area of tongues does that mean we only pray with tongues no you also have to pray so I'll pray with my spirit and I'll pray with my understanding so later on I'll probably have to talk about how he uses our minds as well in prayer but this time
[28:20] I'm speaking about him using us without the mind it doesn't mean we can't think anymore but this this prayer communication is beyond just thinking is beyond the mind where the Holy Spirit helps us in expressing things to God listen the Holy Spirit has been sent by Jesus to help us to help us in our evangelism to help us in our Christian work to help us in our consecration to help us in our prayer life a believer should not pray without the help of the Holy Spirit a believer's prayer is in the Holy Spirit so to the Father through the Son we pray in the Holy Spirit to the Father through the Son we don't pray necessarily to the Holy Spirit even though he's God his work in our prayer life is to help us pray through the Son to the Father
[29:40] Jesus said when you pray what should he say our Father so our prayer is to the Father hallelujah for the Spirit himself bears witness with our spirits that we are the sons of Romans chapter 8 verse 16 the Spirit himself beareth witness with our spirits so we have the spirits and we have our human spirit our human spirit and that's where communication happens spiritual communication happens with your human spirit if any man is not born again his human spirit is not alive unto God if you are not born again that's where death is so we were Ephesians chapter 2 verse 1 and you who were dead in your trespasses and transgressions so he has quickened we were dead in our trespasses and sins dead but still alive but dead what does it mean to be dead in that context dead unto God your spirit can communicate with God your spirit are influenced your spirit is influenced by the evil one an evil one can use you easily so people who do witchcraft they are also operating in the spirit but they don't have communication to God
[31:09] God is life God is light anything outside of God is darkness anything outside of God is death so even though their spirit is engaging something they are in they are in death so when we are born again our spirits are now alive and so the Holy Spirit can bear witness with our human spirit that we are the sons of God he bears witness with our spirit one more thing the Holy Spirit also helps us through ejaculations ejaculations now when we say ejaculations you are talking about words that pop up in your mind pop up you didn't think about it so it is not so much as a word you thought about and usually those ejaculations are not your natural words but most of them are Hebrew words in the Bible for instance hallelujah he says that Romans chapter 8 verse 14 let's already allow let's go shall we already allow let's go the next verse for ye have received the spirit of bondage again to fear but ye have received the spirit of adoption whereby we cry whereby we cry whereby we cry whereby we cry say Abba Father when some translation try to say daddy the Abba you can't just translate it as daddy even though that's in the original sense that's what he connotes so every translation that is correct left the Abba every translation they didn't translate that way because some words are not meant to be translated like hallelujah hallelujah and so there are times that the Holy Spirit will just when you get into a certain stage the Holy Spirit
[33:20] Abba Jesus Christ when he was praying he always called Abba Abba so now the spirit of God now begins to pray to Abba from within you with ejaculations verse hallelujah there are so many times I shout hallelujah without thinking like Maranatha Maranatha come Jesus come those are words the Holy Spirit just spontaneously drop in your spirit and you utter them without thinking about them these are levels of praying in the spirit the Holy Spirit is someone catching something most of us what we are very familiar with is hallelujah yeah but when you are taught in your family of Maranatha who come Jesus there are other Hebrew ways that might jump in your heart when you are well taught but the commonest one is hallelujah pastor
[34:23] I say hallelujah many times without thinking about it there are times I'm even praying then Holy Spirit hits I hit a certain nerve hallelujah hallelujah this are praying the Holy Spirit himself he's making intercession for us he's making inter he's helping us in our prayer language by spontaneously all that the actual English word is ejaculations of words the word comes but most of the words are not normal English words they are original Hebrew words or Aramaic Abba is Aramaic Abba Abba you won't say it naturally but the Holy Spirit depending on the state can utter those words without you thinking about it to the Father that's why we need to learn how to lean of the Holy Spirit where should you pray where should you pray it's always important to pray in the
[35:30] Spirit because the Holy Spirit is here to help us in our weaknesses to help us in our human limitation you can't talk about Christian prayer outside of the Holy Spirit you can't do a Christian prayer because you are not if you pray outside of the Holy Spirit you are doing your own thing it's like you are talking to yourself you know maybe you call somebody you really upset with your boss very upset with your boss and you call his number and the line says busy then you start you know it's not gone then you start blasting him I don't like what you do you know he's not hearing anything but he's just expressing you see you're just blasting the person or venting out to your close friend or something somebody who you can't talk to but without them hearing you vent it on the phone so if the Holy
[36:38] Spirit doesn't help us it will be like you talking to yourself because prayer can be very difficult when Jesus was on earth the guy his disciples could go to him and talk to him they would go to him and talk to him and ask him questions but we on the side we can't see him what makes prayer difficult is you are talking to somebody you can't you can't see who's pressing he said I'm dead but you can't even feel it and we are talking we are talking hoping he's listening how many of you know what I'm talking about sometimes you are not sure if this thing is working that is why the Spirit himself helps us in our weaknesses that's why Jesus said I'm going but the comforter will come it will be the same it will be the same it will be the same thank you for listening to this message by David Entry the best thing that can happen to you is being exposed to the word of God to hear more from
