[0:00] Welcome! You are about to listen to a destiny changing message preached by Pastor David at Karis Phase 2. Karis Phase 2 is our revival seeking youth ministry where young people are coming to know Jesus Christ. Faith comes by hearing and by hearing the word of God. Be blessed as you listen.
[0:30] Last week I spoke about how mercy is an important thing in dealing with God. Nobody can ever get close to God without receiving mercy first. Because if you try to come close, it's like you want to go close to the sun. You'll be bent. Up to now, scientists have not discovered what we can wear to go to the sun.
[0:52] The sun. And they will never discover it. They have not discovered what man can wear. They found what man can wear to go to the moon.
[1:04] So you can survive on the moon for some time. But to approach the sun, they haven't. Found what man can wear to approach the sun.
[1:17] Now, if it is so difficult to approach the sun, how much more God? Who is one, brighter than the sun. Two, bigger than the sun. Three, greater than the sun. And four, more powerful than the universe.
[1:37] And he has standards. His standards are not, he doesn't compromise on his standards. Standards of holiness, righteousness, and glory.
[1:50] And yet, we cannot meet it. How can you, who, Jesus said, even you, who are evil, you can't imagine.
[2:03] Luke chapter 11, verse 30. He said, if you, being evil, can't imagine. You, who are you talking about? We human beings. How can you, who are evil, in the same Luke chapter 18, I think verse 18 and 19 and 20, somewhere there.
[2:25] A rich young ruler came to Jesus and he said to Jesus, good master. Jesus said, why call it thou made good? No one is good.
[2:35] Why call it thou made good? None is good. Say, none is good. None is good. Say it again. None is good. So Jesus said, none is good. And Jesus said, you being evil, how can you, being evil, comfortably and safely approach God in yourself?
[2:55] Even if ordinary Mars or moon, they need special suits to go to the moon.
[3:06] Special, not aeroplane. special aircraft, special vehicle. You don't use that vehicle on this earth. It's just to take you to the moon.
[3:18] You need that. How much more to get close to God? You can go in yourself. You can go yourself. So anytime you want to approach closer to God, the first thing that must happen is that you have to go in mercy.
[3:40] There's a suit. God is the only one who makes. It's still let for, and you have to go and put in your application for him to give it to you.
[3:54] And he has a lot of it. Bible says in 2 Chronicles chapter 20, verse 20 and 21, 21 said, they went forward singing, singing, a point that they should sing, and they sang, saying, praise the Lord, for his mercy endured.
[4:19] How long? Forever. How long does his mercy last? Forever. So when God's hand of mercy comes upon you, how long is it for? Forever. In Psalm 136, from verse 1 to the last, the end of the verse, he said, oh, give thanks to God for his good, for his mercy endured forever.
[4:43] Look at verse 2. Oh, give thanks to God, the God of God, for his mercy endures forever. Verse 3.
[4:54] Oh, give thanks to the Lord of the Lord for his mercy endures forever. Verse 4. To him who alone does great wonders. His mercy endures forever. Verse 5.
[5:05] To him that by wisdom made the heavens. For his mercy endures forever. To him that stretches out the earth above the waters. For his mercy endures forever.
[5:16] To him that made great lights. For his mercy endures forever. To him, the sound to rule the day. For his mercy endures forever. The moon to rule, the moon and the star to rule by night.
[5:28] For his mercy endures forever. To him that smooth Egypt in their first bone. For his mercy endures forever. And brought out Israel from amongst them.
[5:40] For his mercy endures forever. I can't hear you. For his mercy endures forever. With a strong hand and with a stretch out arm. For his mercy endures forever.
[5:53] For his mercy endures forever. To him which divided the rest sea into parts. For his mercy endures forever. Can you imagine what that means?
[6:04] A whole sea. Parts. Parts one, part two. And that's not the end. By mercy, he divided them. And then by mercy, he made them walk on ground. Look at the next one.
[6:14] To him and made Israel pass through the midst of it. For his mercy endures forever. He just came to the red sea and said, hey, go here, part one. Go here.
[6:26] Land, Israel, walk through it. Wow. Wow. Hallelujah. Thank you, Jesus. And made Israel pass through the midst of it. For his mercy endures forever.
[6:39] But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the red sea. For his mercy endures forever. Pharaoh and his host they thought it was extreme weather condition. That has made the people be able to go to the red sea.
[6:52] So they say, oh, the water. Let people talk down your testimony. Let them try and replicate that testimony. They will realize that this is not ordinary. Pharaoh thought this is ordinary.
[7:03] What is it? They've gone through. We are also going through. But the red sea said, I wasn't divided into parts for you. Swallowed all of them. But overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the red sea.
[7:14] For his mercy endured forever. To him which led his people through the wilderness. For his mercy endured forever. To him which smote great kings.
[7:26] For his mercy endured forever. And slew famous kings. For his mercy endured forever. Sion, king of the Amorites. For his mercy endured forever.
[7:37] And Amnon and Og the king of Bashan. For his mercy endured forever. And gave their lands for an heritage. For his mercy endured forever.
[7:49] Even an heritage unto Israel his servants. For his mercy endured forever. Who remembered us in our low estate. For his mercy endured forever.
[8:00] God remembered us in our low estate. For his mercy endured forever. God remembered us in our low estate. For his mercy endured forever. and has redeemed us from our enemies.
[8:14] for his mercy endured forever. Who gives食 food to our flesh. for his mercy endured forever. Oh, give thanks unto the God of heaven.
[8:28] for his mercy endured forever. Oh, give thanks unto the God of heaven. for his mercy endured forever. Oh, give thanks unto the God of heaven. for his mercy endured forever.
[8:39] Oh, give thanks unto the God of heaven. Blessing, joy, forever. Oh, give thanks unto the God of heaven. Blessing, joy, forever. Give him a shout of praise.
[8:53] So you find out that how long does his mercy endure? Forever. When they say something endures forever, it will outlast anything. So I don't know what has been going on in your life, but the mercy of God will outlast it.
[9:07] Amen. It endures forever. It will outendure, outlast it. So when you are coming to God, the first thing you need to believe God for is mercy.
[9:24] You can't come to him without mercy. You need mercy. Every time you must have it on your heart, I need mercy.
[9:37] It's not so much of what the things you are doing. I'm trying. I'm trying. Because in Romans chapter 9, verse 16, he said, it's not of him.
[9:50] So then it is not of him that wails. Give me another version. New King James. So that it's not of him who wails. I will. I will do this. I will do this. It's not of him who wails.
[10:01] Nor of him who runs. I'm running. I'm pushing myself. But it's of God who shows mercy. That testimony you are supposed to share is not purely because of your will.
[10:16] It's not purely because of your hard work and your pushing. Even though all those things matter. But it's purely because of God who has shown you mercy. God shows mercy.
[10:30] God shows mercy. God shows mercy. So some human beings, all human beings are vessels.
[10:42] Some are vessels of wrath. For God to show that he has wrath. He's angry against sin. And he will use some people to show his wrath. They are called vessels of wrath.
[10:54] In verse 22. Some are also vessels of mercy. What if God wanting to show his wrath to make his power known. Endures with much suffering.
[11:05] The vessels of wrath. There are human beings who are vessels of wrath. Look at the next verse. And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy.
[11:19] Now what does that mean? The riches of his glory. God has so much glory. And when his glory comes on you, it's so beautiful. Everybody wants, wow, I wish I was there. I wish I was seen.
[11:30] He said he wants to show the riches of his glory on vessels of mercy. People who have obtained mercy. Then he can show. So when you obtain mercy, it begins to show in your life.
[11:44] God shows mercy. And when God shows you mercy, it will always show in your life. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. When God shows you mercy, it will show in your life.
[11:59] That's where people who know your past begin to have problems. Because they know you don't deserve this. But mercy says, you are the one.
[12:14] Mercy said, you are the one. You are the one. You are the one that we are going to. I'm going to show you mercy. So when you are coming to God, we need mercy.
[12:26] Mercy is like passing your exam and getting your certificate. That shows you finish the uni.
[12:38] Is that all? Now, how to use the certificate? Because not everybody who has a certificate, right? So you are in medical school. When you finish, you have your medical certificate, right?
[12:51] It does not mean you'll get a good job in the medical field. Some will get their certificate and they'll be working in the White House. Others will be working in a top private hospital.
[13:03] They pay more. Others will just, amen, that shall be your portion. So mercy is like now you are authorized to approach God. So they hand your authorized certificate of authorization to approach God.
[13:17] But now when you approach God, you have to go. When you go to God, now it's time for grace. Grace, how can you get a medical, a job in the medical, as a medical doctor, when you haven't finished your medical course?
[13:34] You can't get a job. You have to finish. Grace, so grace really can't find you until mercy has finished his job on you. So now when mercy, because why do you need mercy?
[13:45] Because you are too dirty. You and I are too dirty. I mean, you need something to wear to go to God. So he has to, he's manufacturing mercy garments.
[13:57] Overall suit of mercy, you just wear it and then you go. And he made it available to all on the cross. When he came on the cross, now mercy became available to all.
[14:08] So anybody at all can approach God on the basis of the cross. The Bible says, you who were aliens in your minds, has he reconciled?
[14:21] Colossians chapter 1 verse 21, has he reconciled? So it's that, and you who were once aliens and enemies in your minds by wicked works. We were all alienated and enemies in our minds by wicked works.
[14:40] By wicked works, yet, ooh, this sounds too good. Yet. Say yet. Yes. Say yet. Yes. So that means in spite of our former condition, there has been a change.
[14:53] Church, everybody in church used to be an enemy of God. Everybody. First Corinthians chapter 6, verse 11, verse then we can go to.
[15:07] And such were some of you. Such were some of you. Not all of us. All of us were not like that, but some of you were like that.
[15:19] But no, it doesn't matter who was what. It doesn't matter. We are all in. When you go, maybe people have finished their professional, not professional course.
[15:32] Let me still use medical degree. They are all past medical doctors. Now, there's not a time I tell you, you are going to tell someone, you know one way in primary school? You used to do good with math.
[15:42] Yeah, this one was also bad. Yeah. But it doesn't matter. Now, it's a medical doctor. Yes. Amen. Now, it's a top engineer. Now, it's a... Primary school doesn't matter.
[15:55] A lot of things that happened in primary school don't matter. Even secondary school doesn't matter. A lot of things. A lot of things. And sometimes, even the university, it might not matter sometimes.
[16:08] Because there are others who have finished that same uni and it's not taking them anywhere. And others have finished Greenwich and they are top. They are famous. So, it said that such were some of you.
[16:22] I don't know if time will permit me or if you are interested enough to look at how some of you used to be. You didn't let me finish what I'm saying. To look at what some of you Americans say.
[16:35] You are. Some of you or we all used to be like. Just in case you are new to church and you still think that you are like this.
[16:47] We were all like that. Most of us were like you. So, it's not strange. Just that. Make sure from today. You are not going back there. Such were some of you.
[16:59] But you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the spirit of our God. That's what happens to you when you enter into church.
[17:11] When you get into church and church finally gets into you. You are washed. You are sanctified. You are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus by the spirit of God.
[17:22] Shout hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. So, human beings are in the previous condition 9 and 10. All human beings. So, then when you want to come to God, you need mercy.
[17:36] In other, because of that condition we are born in. Others were not enlisted here. But more are enlisted in Galatians chapter 5. From verse 19 to 20.
[17:47] More of the works of the flesh are enlisted there. So, then we need mercy. But after you are in Christ, you have come into God and mercy is speaking for you.
[17:58] You need to enjoy grace. So, in John chapter 1 verse 14. It says that, and the word became flesh and dwelt amongst us.
[18:10] And we beheld the glory thereof. The glory as of the only begotten of the Father. Full of what? Grace. I can hear you.
[18:20] Full of what? Grace and truth. One more time. Grace and truth. Louder. Grace and truth. Loudest. Grace and truth. The word became flesh.
[18:32] And this flesh incarnated word is full of grace and truth. Full of grace and truth. Bible says in heaven 16.
[18:44] Of his fullness have we all received. Hallelujah. Of his fullness have we all received. And grace for grace. This grace thing cannot end. No. Grace.
[18:55] Of his fullness we get grace for grace. Grace. I want to say grace for grace. Grace for grace. That will be your portion. Amen. If you believe that will be your portion, say it louder.
[19:07] Grace for grace. Louder. Grace for grace. If you believe that will be your portion, say it louder again. Grace for grace. So shall it be for you. Amen. So, of his fullness have we all received grace for grace.
[19:21] now in a time like this God is a God of all grace you remember 1 Peter 5 verse 10 God is a God of all grace God gives grace he gives grace actually 1 Peter 4 verse 6 God gives grace to the humble wow he actually gives grace he shows mercy and gives grace God resists the proud but that's what gives grace God gives grace so why don't you come to God and receive grace receive grace he says come boldly that we may obtain mercy and find grace so mercy is the most appropriate attire to go into the presence of God you know when the forensic scientists they are going to the lab they wear some you can go to the circuit if you don't cover they wear all those things and they are going yeah that's the appropriate attire to get into the presence of God you need to come with mercy but when you go you go and take the treasure of grace collect grace collect grace collect grace
[20:34] I think somebody is a collector of grace say grace is working for me grace is working for me say it again grace is working for me so now that we are grace collectors and situationally we are in a season of grace now we are in a season of grace what does that mean?
[20:58] when you are born again you have access to the grace of God there is the grace of God that brings salvation there is a grace that makes people be able to serve the body of Christ and there is the grace in life that makes people just flourish so some people have grace for progress these are just working for you grace for career, marriage some of you anytime you go for interview it is hard for people to tell you they don't like you there is this grace about you now so that is not saving grace that is not saving grace it is a saving grace like Joseph was as I mentioned last week Potiphar's wife liked Joseph so much Potiphar liked him even the servants everybody liked Joseph Bible says God gave Joseph grace Genesis 37 God gave Joseph grace verse 1 and 2 and verse 21 God gave Joseph grace grace in the sight of the or he made him prosper rather and Joseph found yeah and Joseph found grace in the sight in the sight of his master and he saved him and he made him overseer over his house so you can join a company and God will give you fine grace and they make you a director you understand what I'm saying now we are in a season where people are going to be finding grace so this teaching is about in this season of grace what do you have to do to maximize grace because in Corinthians chapter 6 verse 1 that's the one I'm looking for okay as workers together with him also play with you to not to receive we plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain so you can actually receive the grace you are in an atmosphere of grace grace is coming but it's not working in your life how what do you do so that the grace will not be in vain 1 Corinthians chapter 15 verse 10 he said by the grace of God
[23:14] I am what I am did you see that nevertheless not I he said but and the grace that was upon me was not in vain so grace can be on you and in vain it's clear in scripture that in a season of grace like this your own will not produce because you are not working the grace you are not maximizing what you are not doing what it takes to maximize a season of grace some of you your background is not favorable what you need is grace other than that the way everybody is failing you will fail people are failing and falling like flies who have been sprayed from your background you need the grace of God nobody breaks through properly in your family tell me one prominent person in your background you need grace the grace of prominence is not in your family so you have to believe God for such a family of grace and then do things that will make grace work for you do you get what I am talking about grace must work for you the grace must work for you so then there is a way you can enjoy grace you can be under grace that that negative things will never get to execute because grace suspends it because you are operating with it it's like the law of aerodynamics gravity will pull you down if you try and jump but there is another law law of aerodynamics there is a way you can activate the law gravity cannot get you so there is a higher law you can apply it's called the law of grace you can apply to invalidate that the law that negative law in your background that's what I am talking about grace when you are in Christ you have access to grace anybody in Christ has free access to grace
