[0:30] Don't run away from church. It does not matter whatever happens. Do not, and I repeat, do not run away from church.
[0:47] Your destiny will never recover. It will get worse. And you will be loaded with regrets after a short while.
[1:01] Regrets upon regrets upon regrets. And later you will be advising people. They don't need it. They don't need it.
[1:13] Advice yourself before you become a byword. A byword and a proverb. You know what it means to be a proverb? You become an example of a failure.
[1:24] They will use your story to tell stories about failures. A proverb and a byword. It's not a word that you need for where you are going.
[1:34] It's just a word of caution to tell people an example. Say, remember Lot's wife. She turned back from where God had delivered her from. And she became a pillar of salt in Genesis chapter 19.
[1:50] When they delivered them, they said, don't look back. Go! But Lot's wife liked the place of Sodom. She liked the life she was living.
[2:03] She was missing the soft life there. Yeah. Yeah. And so, when the angel delivered, they said, no one should look back.
[2:14] Just run and go. In fact, they were delaying so much that the angel, because of intercession. Someone say intercession.
[2:25] Say intercession. Because of the intercession of Abraham. Abraham was talking to God and negotiating with God about Sodom and Gomorrah.
[2:37] Don't let fire come on that land. Because there might be somebody there who is righteous. Abraham thought there were quite a few of them. He said, what if you find 50? God said, if I find 50 righteous men, I won't destroy the family.
[2:49] I won't destroy the city. He said, okay, okay, okay. God, may it not be like I'm saying too much. Would the judge of all flesh not do right? If you are the judge, you have to do right. Abraham told God, would you not do right?
[3:01] Would the judge of all flesh not do right? Can I ask a bit of God? He said, what if you find 45? He said, if I find 40, I won't. Or 50, eh, 40. He said, I will not destroy the place for 40.
[3:13] Oh, Abraham was thinking, I thought I've had a strong bargaining. There are no 40 righteous men there. So he said, okay, God, how about 30?
[3:24] He said, if there's 30, I will destroy it. Abraham brought it down, down, down, 10, five. God can't find righteous men in the land. And he said, because of you, Lot will be saved.
[3:39] So when the angel was going to destroy it, God sent an angel to go and tell Lot and his family, Lot, guys, get out of here now. This whole place is about to burn down.
[3:50] Get out of here. Lot said, oh, let's wait. The angel said, don't have time. We have been sent to come and destroy the place. But we can't destroy it because you are there.
[4:03] You have to get out of here now. And Lot was wasting. The angel actually held his hand and dragged him out of the city. Because Lot was playing with fire.
[4:18] Abraham, because Abraham was in intercession, Lot was pulled out. And he said, go, you and your family, but don't look back. As they were going, the woman who had itchy ears, she remembered her jewelry.
[4:32] She remembered her dining tables. Her luxury home. You know, women like home. Guys, if you want to have a happy home, you have to start preparing so you can earn money.
[4:49] Yeah. Because more than the women, eh? The likes of life. The likes of life. So, women like their home.
[5:00] They like their home in a certain way. Yeah. So, Lot's wife has pushed Lot to Sodom. Lot had a covenant.
[5:12] They had a covenant relationship. Abraham and Lot. Bible says that God told Abraham, Genesis chapter 12, verse 1, leave your father's house.
[5:23] God said to Abraham, leave what? Leave what? The Lord came from there. Get out of your what? Country. And from where?
[5:33] Your family. Your family and from? Your father's house. Get out of your country. Your family. Your father's house. Why is Lot with you? Is Lot not your family?
[5:47] Lot was Abraham's brother's son. And he went with him. So, Bible says, I think in Genesis chapter 13. Oh, sorry. Yeah, 13.
[5:59] Abraham became very prosperous. And he says that, and Lot also, who went with him? Wow. Lot also. Say, Lot also. Lot also.
[6:09] Who did God call? Abraham. Lot chose to follow. Who you follow will determine how well you do in life. That covenant was on Abraham.
[6:22] But he said, I will bless them that bless you. And I will curse them that curse you. Bless them that bless you. Another way of putting it is, your friends will benefit. Because your friends like you, I will like them in this work for them.
[6:38] The easiest, there's a shortcut to blessings. The shortest cut to blessings is to look for someone blessed. And favor them.
[6:50] It's like almost buying the blessings from them. He says, go to them that sell it and buy. If you need some things in life, you have to look for people who have it.
[7:02] You want good marriage? Look for people who have good marriages. If you want to do well in ministry, look for people who are doing well in ministry. That's why I thank God that he sent me to follow Bishop David Oedipo.
[7:17] Oh, but you know, we don't like Bishop Oedipo. What has that got to do with me? It's up to you, life. I like him. I like him. He's my father.
[7:29] And I'm proud. I'm proud to be a son of Bishop Oedipo. What? Proud to be a son of Bishop David Oedipo. Oh, you know, but sometimes people say bad things about him and sometimes you have to be careful.
[7:43] You know, I like following him. I've always followed. Since I became born again, I've always followed. And so my life is never hollow. So sometimes people will advise you, not because they are bad people, but they don't have the revelation you have.
[8:12] Next to being saved, the greatest important thing in your life is your revelation. Because you thrive by revelation. You ascend by revelation.
[8:23] You rise by revelation. You overcome by revelation. Yeah. Your revelation about God. Your revelation about systems. Your revelation about the anointed.
[8:35] Some people will die early because they lack revelation of the anointed. And when you have a revelation, how to relate with an anointed person? Oof. Oof.
[8:46] So, Lot's wife. He said, leave. Lot went with Abraham and he became prosperous. So the Bible says, and Lot too.
[9:00] He followed Abraham and what was working for Abraham started working for him. Who you follow will show what will work for you. Wow. So, Lot also became prosperous.
[9:16] But now the problem was their prosperity was becoming so big. Where those days it was I think subsistence famine. All they used to do cattle rearing.
[9:28] So, you need a field so the cattle graze. And so Abraham was so blessed. He had so much cattle. Lot too also went was so blessed. They had so much cattle.
[9:39] And so now they are headsmen. They are employees began began to fight because they are saying that no, no, but this is our territory.
[9:51] This was our territory. You the Abrahamites. This is your territory. You are crossing. And then the Lord the Lord so Abraham called Lot.
[10:01] Abraham said, Lot, come come, let's talk. The land is big before us. We don't have to let tension develop between our men and then it can end up spoiling family.
[10:12] Beautiful relationship we have. So, that's Abraham. So, Abraham said to Lot, please, let there be no strife between you and me and between my headsmen and your headsmen for we are brethren.
[10:28] Abraham said, we are brethren. Let's not fight. And then he said, it's not the whole land before you. Please, separate from me.
[10:41] If you take left, then I will go, I will go to the right. If you go to the right, then I will go to the left. Look at what happened. And Lot lifted his eyes and saw all the plains of Jordan that it was well watered everywhere before, watch this, into brackets, before the Lord destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah.
[11:04] He didn't see the destruction coming. It was watered like the guardian of the Lord. What? The land is before us. If you choose left, I will choose right.
[11:15] If you choose right, then he chose the very fatal place but not by the direction of God. That is where he lost his wife because his wife influenced that choice.
[11:29] The Bible said, a land is like the guardian of the Lord. Can you imagine? It looks so flourishing. It's like the guardian of the Lord. Mrs. Lot said, Lot!
[11:42] Your uncle said he should choose. You don't have to think about it. Look, oh, this place is better. Let's go there. Our cattle will grow easily. And let him choose wherever he wants to choose. That thing is not location.
[11:54] It's the grace on the man. As soon as Lot chose and took, the Bible says that when Lot left, the Lord came. Put it back on the screen.
[12:08] And Lot lifted his eyes and chose. The next verse. And he chose for himself. Can you imagine? Lot chose for himself all the plains of Jordan.
[12:20] And Lot journeyed east. And they separated from each other. Look at the next verse. Abraham dwelt in the land of Canaan and Lot dwelt in the cities of the plains and pitched his tents even as far as Sodom.
[12:36] Hey! But the men of Sodom were funny. Okay, go ahead. You see? The men of Sodom were exceedingly wicked and sinful against the Lord. And that's where Lot went.
[12:46] Yeah! That's where he pitched his tents because the land was good. Their money was good. Yeah. The money was good so I'll join that company. But they don't like Jesus.
[12:58] They hate anything about the Lord. The next verse. This is nice, huh? Yeah. After he has chosen, the Lord said to Abraham, your greatest asset is the voice of God.
[13:13] Amen. Amen. Amen. Your greatest asset is the voice of God. After he has left, the Lord said to Abraham, hey, this is nice.
[13:24] And I said, after Lord had separated, do you see when God waited? It's like God was waiting. God was waiting. As soon as Lot left, God, the Lord said to Abraham, Abraham, lift up your eyes now.
[13:39] Why now? Now that Lot has gone. Now that Lot thinks he has chosen the best. He was greedy. He should have said, you have become what I am because of you.
[13:50] You please choose and let me choose. He chose first. You are dealing with a senior. You chose to choose first. And you don't have a covenant. He said, Abraham, I have a covenant.
[14:02] People easily forget the dealings of covenants. When they become comfortable a little bit in jail, they forgot that there's a covenant at play. They don't know. So he chose.
[14:12] And as soon as God said, now. He waited. When Lot has separated, then the Lord, the voice of the Lord, came. After. Did you see the after?
[14:24] Not before. After. After. Lot has separated from Abraham. Saying, lift up your eyes now and look from the place where you are.
[14:35] Northward, southward, eastward, westward. And what will happen? And the Lord said, for all the land which you see, I God, I give to you and not only you, your descendants forever.
[14:49] I couldn't have done that when Lot was here. Tell somebody, let Lot go. Let Lot go. Say to another person, let Lot go.
[15:03] Let Lot go. Let Lot go. Sometimes Lot is a guy. Sometimes Lot is a lady. And after Lot left, one of the things that happened, this is Genesis chapter 13.
[15:21] By Genesis chapter 14, the land they went, went into war. And took over the land and arrested the people and Lot was also captured.
[15:35] Ah! Lot was. Please, be careful when you are detaching yourself from a covenant person. Lot was captured also.
[15:49] So somebody ran and came to tell Abraham, Lot, Abraham the Hebrew. That's the first time the Bible used the word Hebrew. Abraham, someone ran. And then one who had escaped came and told Abraham the Hebrew.
[16:01] Abraham the Hebrew. For he dwelt by the Terebinth tree of Mamre and Mamre the Ammonite. Brother of all that.
[16:11] Yeah. And they were last of Abraham. So Abraham's allies came and told him that, you know what, Lot has been captured. Someone, go to the next verse. Now, when Abraham heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his 318 trained servants who were born in his own house and went and pursued as far as done and went and defeated the kings and brought Lot back.
[16:42] Say, Lot, how happened? Lot has been beaten a bit. Bro, hey bro, this Sodom place, there are problems there. That's how he lost his wife.
[16:56] That's how he lost his daughters. In 2 Peter, Bible talks about Abraham verse 8, chapter 2 verse 8 also. Abraham, when he was, he was living amongst the people.
[17:11] He vexed his soul. For that righteous man, that's not Abraham, Lot, that righteous man, Lot, he was a righteous man. Say, Lot was a righteous man. Lot was a righteous man.
[17:21] Dwelling amongst them. In seeing and hearing, vexes righteous souls from day to day with their unlawful deeds. He exposed himself. There are some places you don't have to go.
[17:34] You don't have to go. They are inviting you for some parties. You know what will happen. You don't have to go. You have to find out my excuse. The way, when you want to come to church, you find an excuse.
[17:45] Whether I was doing overtime or something. You have to find an excuse. Some places, because your auntie, you can't tell her, I won't come. So you have to find an excuse. Because that place, Bible says that Lot vexed his righteous soul.
[18:01] He tormented his soul because of the things he was seeing and hearing. And he asked, I don't know why nowadays I'm struggling with porn. It's because of what you have been exposing yourself to.
[18:12] The kind of friends, the things they are talking about, the movies they are going to, and you are going with them, watching this thing. You are exposing yourself to, you see, what you expose yourself to determines what grows up in you.
[18:28] What you expose, it determines what is growing in you. So, Saul tormented his soul. Now, look at what happened. Abraham went and brought Saul back. He loved the place.
[18:38] He still lived there. And now, their sin, the sin of the land has gotten so high, it has hit a crescendo. And when Abraham went to deliver Lot, Melchizedek was praying for him.
[18:54] So, when he defeated the kings, and when he came, the king of Sodom came and the king of Sodom went out to meet him at the valley of Shave.
[19:05] after this, after his return from the defeat of Chedalou Omar, the king, and the kings who were with him. So, Abraham, one man with his family, people, they went to defeat three kings.
[19:20] So, when he came, the king of Sodom came and met him, Abraham. But it was the only king of Sodom who came. King of Salem, high priest. He's a priest of God, called Melchizedek.
[19:31] He also came and met Abraham. And he said, blessed be the Most High God of, Abraham of Most High, who has given, delivered you from the hands of your, delivered your enemies into your hands.
[19:42] Because he was watching the battle and praying for Abraham. And Abraham gave him tithe. And he blessed him and gave Abraham bread and wine. Abraham gave him the tithe of all.
[19:56] Then the king of Sodom said, I want to give you all these things. Now the king of Sodom said to Abraham, give me the persons and take the goods for yourself. Abraham said, God forbid. So that you will tell me, you say, I have made Abraham.
[20:10] I will not take anything from you. That I will not take, I swear, go to the verse before. But Abraham said to the king of Sodom, I have raised my hands to the Lord, God Most High, possessor of heaven and earth, that I will not, I will take nothing from the threat to a sandal strap and that I will not take anything that is yours unless you should say, I have made Abraham rich.
[20:38] He said, my help is from God. I don't need you. Girl, don't make yourself beggarly to a guy. If God is going to give you a good husband, don't cheapen yourself.
[20:50] So he said, even you, there's no one coming, I just chose to marry you and today you are not grateful. God forbid. He said, unless you say you have made Abraham rich, I won't take anything from you.
[21:01] I'll keep looking up to God. I won't compromise on my values. So, that story ended. In Genesis chapter 15, God tell him, I'm your great reward and exceeding great reward.
[21:16] Walk before me. In Genesis chapter 16, he went to fire his maid and she got pregnant and had a child called Ishmael.
[21:28] In Genesis chapter 17, God came and rebuked him and said, next time, walk before me and be perfect. And they said, your wife Sarah shall have a child.
[21:39] I didn't say, your maid. Your wife Sarah. Abraham said, but Sarah is too old. He said, I'm your shield and your great reward. And then, Genesis chapter 18, he saw, God person and invited God to come and have milk and butter and lamb.
[22:01] He did, prepared nice shish kebab for God. Added milk and butter. And the three angels sat down, they ate. When they finished, Abraham continued talking with them.
[22:14] They started, they got up and started going like, go ahead and towards Sodo. And the angel, that's when Abraham started negotiating with God. And the Lord said, the land, the sin of the land has risen to God.
[22:29] The sin of the, sometimes, the sin of a land can cry out to God. The land said, no, this is too much. What these people are doing is too much. Human beings are sleeping with dogs.
[22:41] It's too much. And every time there has been judgment from heaven, it's always, on a land, there's always a sex misbehavior connected to it.
[22:54] Study your Bible. Every time, there's always some kind of sexual misbehavior, sexual libertinism. Sexual liberties.
[23:07] It's not everything you can sleep with. For goodness sake, you can't be sleeping with your mother. For health and safety, you can't sleep with a child.
[23:21] For goodness sake, you can't sleep with your own sister. So God told Abraham, the land, the sins have come before God.
[23:33] And so, because the earth cry against Sodom Gomorrah is great, and because their sins is, because their sin is very grave, the Lord said, I will go down now and see whether they have done altogether according to the, I'll cry against it that, that has come to me.
[23:57] And if not, I will know. So I'm going to see what, because the land is crying out to me. Crying out to me. People are sleeping with their own daughters.
[24:08] He's crying out to me. Sodom, what is this? The land is, Paul saw somebody in a dream, in a vision. Acts chapter, Acts chapter 16, verse 8, 9, particular verse 9, 10.
[24:25] He said, come to, a man of Macedonia, he said, come to Macedonia and help us. Do you know what was going on in Macedonia? This small, young lady with demon, demon possessed and terrorizing everybody in town and prophesied.
[24:38] So it looks like there was nothing harmful but the land knew that the land was under attack. Spiritually, when you read from the spirit, the land was under attack. So it looks like socially everything was fine. Everybody was going and she was prophesied.
[24:50] She was telling her about their future and this and they were making money of it and politicians were doing good. The judges in the courts have all been bought and all the people in the schools have been bought and things look okay.
[25:02] We will like it. It doesn't harm anybody but the land was crying. Came to Paul by night and a man appeared in a vision in a night vision. The Bible said a night vision and it says that a vision appeared to Paul in the night.
[25:19] There stood a man of Macedonia. Macedonia is a city. Macedonia is actually a province, a territory and a city is there.
[25:32] So Philippi was a city in Macedonia rather and a man of Macedonia appeared to Paul in a dream and prayed him saying come over into Macedonia and help us.
[25:46] Come over into Macedonia and help. That's vision. These are spiritual transactions because they were anointed vessels of God who carry what it takes to free a land, to free a family, to free a city, to free a community.
[26:03] And so when Paul woke up they concluded that God has sent them to go to Macedonia.
[26:14] Now after he had seen the vision immediately we sought to go to concluding that the Lord had called us to go and preach the gospel there. That's the only way a city can be set free. That's the only way your family can be set free.
[26:27] That's the only way that university can be set free. That's the only way that community can be set free. That's the only way that community of the people who are killing themselves that's the only way you take away the knife they'll find different ways to do it.
[26:40] The only way that place can be set free is the gospel. People will go back to schools. The gospel. People will go back to good behavior. The gospel. The gospel. Come and preach the gospel.
[26:52] A man of Macedonia Macedonia was crying come and preach. They concluded God has sent us to preach the gospel there. So when they arrived they met some ladies. Some good ladies. One of them is called Lydia.
[27:05] Good ladies. They went they met them at the place where prayer was customarily made around the river side. They met Dorcas and the lady at the river side as they were praying and they spoke to them they preached them the ladies received the word of God.
[27:20] Ladies are amazing. They were the first group they received the word of God. They were so amazing. And Dorcas Dorcas was rich. She sold purple. If someone sells purple it's like you speak you sell you're top business woman.
[27:35] Very wealthy. And look at what she said. She said please if I found favor in your side you judge me right. Can you please come and stay in my house. She was begging them. She put pressure. Come and receive.
[27:46] Sometimes when you are giving an offering to a man of God don't think you are doing your favor. He said when she and the household were baptized she begged her saying if you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord come to my house and stay.
[28:02] This is a godly woman. She's been baptized. Godly woman. She said I want to I want can you put the cost of yours stay on me. Doesn't matter what you cost.
[28:13] I want to sponsor everything about your being here. I want to invest into you. You guys you are men of God. God sends you somewhere you've already prepared a place in people's hearts for you.
[28:25] And she put pressure on them and persuaded them. So they decided to go and stay in their house. So every time from there they go to prayer. you saw a dream a vision a man said come and help us in Macedonia.
[28:37] When they got to Philippi which was one of the chief cities in Macedonia they went there and settled in Philippi. Because that was Macedonia. One city must be if you go for instance if you are in Peckham are you not in London?
[28:48] If you are in Brexit you are in London. You can go to Stockwell you are in London. You can go to Hackney you are in London. So you must go somewhere in London. So in Macedonia they settled in Philippi and every day they've been going to prayer at the riverside and they go.
[29:05] Every day this they did and then one day verse 16 one day they were going to pray and there was this girl who was possessed by an evil spirit who was bringing prophets to her managers her bosses and Paul and Silas oh sorry Paul and Silas it was Silas Paul and Silas and the team they were going and this girl would be saying this girl followed Paul and us and cried out saying these men are the servants of the most high God who proclaim the way of salvation to us.
[29:40] It's true or false? True. But she was doing this and it wasn't the right spirit. She was speaking the truth. Some people can come and tell you the truth but it's not the right spirit.
[29:51] It's not the right spirit. They are preaching like we are preaching but it's not the right spirit. It's not the right spirit. She spoke the truth by with a familiar spirit and this she did many days according to NIV.
[30:07] For this she did for many days but Paul greatly annoyed I think he just said vexed, provoked, grieved, turned and said not to the girl said to the spirit I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of bed and the spirit came out.
[30:30] Preachers are powerful. Preachers are powerful. And the spirit came out. Came out at the same hour.
[30:41] Yeah! But this girl was bringing business. She's a slave girl. So the owners who are using her they are politically connected.
[30:52] connected. They are connected to the courts. They are connected in the marketplace. So when the next verse but when her masters saw that their hope of profit was gone they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them to the marketplace into the marketplace to their authorities.
[31:16] So took them to social authorities. authorities. The politicians who are in charge they were in the pocket of these masters. They can just they went for Paul you cast the devil out.
[31:31] That was a reaction from the pit of hell. Come to Macedonia and help us. It was that spirit. It was that spirit and brought reaction against them.
[31:44] And they brought them to the magistrate. Now you see they brought them to the courts. And said these men being Jews exceedingly troubled our city.
[31:56] Already the politicians have been bought. Now the court has been influenced. Yeah. And they teach customs which are not lawful for us being Romans to receive or observe.
[32:12] And what happened? Then the multitude rose up so now the crowd in the media. Social media everybody was blasting them. Rose up together against them and the magistrate tore off their clothes.
[32:28] Is that how you treat somebody? Tore off their clothes and commanded them to be beaten with roads. Paul that's what beat my mind. Look at what they are charged against them before the verse before.
[32:40] Verse 21. Look at the charge against them. They said and they teach customs which are not lawful for us being what? Romans. Paul was hearing the charge against him and the magistrate carried out Paul and tore his clothes and beat them.
[32:57] They said beat them. Command them beat them. You haven't judged the people. You just decide you're good. They are bought all of them and spirits were influencing all that decision.
[33:10] They beat them. Meanwhile Paul was Roman. Paul was Roman. He could have said I met Roman you can't beat me. And he was a lawyer so he knew the law but he was on a mission so he was quiet about his Roman status.
[33:29] They beat them and through look at the next verse that when they had laid many stripes on them they threw them into the prison commanding the jailer to keep them securely.
[33:41] you have not tried me you have beaten me and thrown me into prison. Look at the next verse. Having received such a charge he put them into the inner prison and fastened their feet to the shocks to the stocks.
[33:58] So he really put make sure what have they done. And do you know what beats my mind? Paul was quiet. Ow! Ow! Ow! Hey! Hey! Then they finished souls they put them in the prison.
[34:14] Paul speak out you are Roman Paul speak out they can't do this to a Roman citizen Paul speak out because his destination was the prison jailer.
[34:26] Now they've cast the devil out they need a pastor there. yes wow wow so they beat him they took him in Bible said this is funny this is funny this is funny at midnight verse 25 at midnight at midnight at midnight at midnight at midnight at midnight they should be crying rather but admit that Paul and Salas were praying and singing glory to their Lord here it we give glory singing hymns to God and the other prisoners said who are these strange prisoners we have never heard this before they are coming they are singing they have just beaten you we give glory Paul said hey this thing we give glory they were singing praises unto God and praying they would pray a bit and they didn't sing suddenly say suddenly suddenly say suddenly suddenly heaven reacted heaven reacted there was a great earthquake so that the foundation of the prison was shaken and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone's chains were loose what kind of what earthquakes doesn't lose chains maybe unless you have chained a big speaker to somewhere in another one then but to human beings it was the leg that would break not the chain but this is a kind of earthquake that shakes people's bones are intact but chains break it's not a normal earthquake think about it the earthquake must break their bones before it breaks their chains sit down sit down sit down yes earthquakes don't open doors they break doors they break pillars they break buildings but this earthquake it didn't break the building it just opened the doors it just opened the doors and the place was dark there was no light so when the jailer woke up after the earthquake she realized because if you're a jailer and the prisoners escape they'll kill you so she went and went light light he went he couldn't see the prisoners all the doors were open the chains were oh no the prisoners are gone meanwhile last night you were charged and make sure keep this guy securely keep this guy securely you know what's funny
