[0:26] It's a prayer title. Help me, Lord, not to try to do good. It's an interesting title, isn't it?
[0:43] Alright. Romans chapter 7. Verse 15.
[0:56] Alright, verse 14. For we know that the law is spiritual, but I'm carnal soul and the sin. For what, for that which I do, I allow not.
[1:10] For what I would, that do I not. That do I not. But what I hate. That do I. If then, I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
[1:32] Now then, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. For I know that in me that is in my flesh dwelleth no good thing.
[1:49] For to will is present with me. But how to perform that which is good, I find not. How to perform that which is good, I find not.
[2:14] For the good that I would, I would, I do not. But the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that, I would not.
[2:27] It is no longer, it's no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. I find then a law that when I would do good, evil is present with me.
[2:43] For I delight in the law of God after the inward man. But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind.
[2:57] And bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am, who shall deliver me from this body of death.
[3:10] From the body of this death. I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with my mind, I myself serve the law of God.
[3:22] But with the flesh, the law of sin. There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus. Who walk not after the flesh, but after the spirit.
[3:35] For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. Father, what we don't know teach us.
[3:48] Where we are not take us. Who we are not make us. To the glory of your name. In Jesus name. Amen. Amen. Wow.
[4:00] This text is a very troublesome text. If you read the Bible for theological exercise, you are just for theological exercise, you are likely to miss the meat of scripture.
[4:18] You are likely to miss God instead of meeting God. We meet God through scriptures, but you can miss God through theology and through other things.
[4:32] Is theology not necessary? Theology is good. Theology is just the academic intellectual exercise of scripture. To establish A as A and B as B.
[4:45] Theology just mainly focuses on the text. What is written. So if someone comes and said, for great is the mystery of godliness.
[4:58] And somebody also decides to say, great is the misery of godliness. It didn't say misery. It said mystery. So let us find out what the grammar says.
[5:11] The grammar says mystery. Even though you might not like mystery. You prefer misery. It didn't say misery. If it's somewhere else, maybe you have to go and find where it said misery somewhere else. But in this particular text, it is an academic exercise, more or less, intellectual exercises, which is necessary.
[5:30] So it helps to, the Bible says that rightly, 2 Timothy 2, verse 15, rightly divide the word of truth, which is if you know how to really deal with fish, fill it.
[5:47] They know how to slice it. They can slice just the skin with a sharp knife. Slice it and leave there. Some of you, if you are doing it, you slice much of the head.
[6:03] So when it's rightly dividing, you're talking about how to cut so fine that you're able to divide between what is wanted and what is not wanted. So it needs a certain level of skill.
[6:15] And every Christian, if you want God to use you, must learn, study God's word so well that you develop the skill of being able to see.
[6:28] Like the way Black Panther said, Jesus is a black man. Because in Genesis, Revelation chapter 1, I think verse 14. So he said, his hair is as white as wool.
[6:40] So he says, it's black people whose hair are as wool. But if you are rightly dividing it, it didn't say his hair is as thick as wool.
[6:53] The focus is the color, not the texture. So he says that it's white as, white like wool, not thick like the texture.
[7:06] So that simple can sway many people. So they see it as texture. Meanwhile, did he mention texture, Jay? He just mentioned white because the color of heaven is white.
[7:22] Anything heavy, you see white, white, white, white, white. So he's just saying, so you see, now, that's where theology comes in. So if you just read it, if you don't read it well and open your eyes, somebody will wrote Peter to pay Paul.
[7:37] They butcher the scriptures. And especially if he enters or falls into a hand, the hand of a farrakhan, the hand of an orator.
[7:49] Some people are naturally gifted with convincing powers. So much that even if you know they are lying, you'll be convinced they are right. I mean, some lawyers are good with that.
[8:02] They are able to argue. So if you are not careful and someone can sway you with sound-sounding arguments, it doesn't mean it's still sound.
[8:16] It's just sound-sounding. It sounds sound, but it doesn't mean it's sound. They can argue. But when you are well taught, for instance, you are well taught that the Holy Spirit is God.
[8:31] But when someone comes to tell you that the Holy Spirit is a force, it doesn't matter how they explain it. Right from there, you know that you are on different paths. He's off. When someone tells you Jesus is not God, right there, every other thing they say about Christianity or about God is wrong.
[8:47] If you see, that's the essence of theology. When you are well taught in God's word and good teaching, not just theology, good teaching, it helps you can smell falsehood very quickly.
[9:04] It doesn't matter how it has been packaged. You can smell it. And I want you to know that the essence of basic theology is so important that if you have it right, it cuts through Scripture.
[9:21] If someone gets it wrong at one end, it's like it affects every other thing. It affects every other thing. So if you get it wrong that the Holy Spirit is God, it will affect every other theology of yours.
[9:37] If you say Jesus was not born by a virgin, it will affect every theology of yours. If you say I believe everything apart from the fact that Jesus didn't resurrect from the dead, that alone affects every theology or revelation of God.
[9:54] So that's why we talk about total scriptura, right? Totality of scripture or analogia scriptura.
[10:04] Scripture speaks with one voice. It will say one thing over there and mean something else. So that's why theology is kind of important. But sometimes we have all types of, we even have feminist theology.
[10:17] Where, oh yeah, in some place like Oxford and some of the universities, if you go and study theology in university, it doesn't mean anything. Because most of the lecturers are atheists.
[10:30] They are teaching, it's just like your, what do you call it, religious, Ari. Ari teachers. Most of them are drunkards and Muslims and some of them are all kinds of people.
[10:42] Let's leave it at that. But, so, what your teacher is teaching you in school is good enough to send you to hell. The fact that someone said I have PhD, triple PhD in theology doesn't mean anything.
[11:03] Doesn't mean anything. Jezebel was a teacher. Jezebel was a teacher. She didn't just have information. She was actually a teacher. And she was able to teach and seduce servants of God.
[11:17] Who's proper servants of God. Yeah. So, your rating in heaven has not got to do with the information you have. The rating in heaven has got everything to do with your love for God, which translates in your service to him through the church.
[11:37] And that is at the mercy of your revelation. Your insight is what determines how effective you can be in your service to God.
[11:50] Insights. All right. So, the text we read is a very important text. Now, when you read Genesis chapter 2, verse 16 and 17.
[12:02] God told them that God commanded the man that of every tree in the garden, you may freely accept the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
[12:15] And the knowledge of good and evil. And he said, he told them the condition that you shall surely die.
[12:27] Knowledge of good and evil. For in the day that... That's already different on the screen. Let's go. For the sake of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat. For in the day that it is of good, you shall surely die.
[12:41] What is wrong with knowledge of good? What is wrong with knowledge of good? Okay, evil I can understand. What is wrong with knowledge of good?
[12:55] In Romans chapter 5, verse 12, the scriptures say that... Through one man's sin...
[13:08] Say one man. One man. Let's read it out from the screen, please. Let's go. Let the Lord judge us as to one man's sin enter the world, and never do sin, and thus death spread to all men, because of all sin.
[13:21] How did sin enter the world? Through one man's sin. Pastor, where did sin come from? That's the theology of the Odyssey.
[13:35] How did sin enter the world? Through one man. Through one man. And how does the righteousness of God enter the world? Through one man. It's fair.
[13:47] Now, I said, but the problem is, sin didn't just come and does it. Sin introduced something else.
[13:57] When sin came, something more severe than sin also came. If you're a parent and you have a child who is very badly behaved and giving you high blood pressure.
[14:14] This child, this child, this child, this child, it's not good to have a child badly behaved that is troubling you, giving you problems. But it's better to have a child.
[14:27] It's better to have that than a dead child. Huh? Oh, yes. Oh, yes. Oh, yes. Many parents would prefer a child in prison than a dead child.
[14:42] Oh, yeah. Because as long as you're alive, there's hope. So, the behavior is bad. But there's something worse than behavior, bad behavior, which is death.
[14:57] Yeah. Death is worse than sin. Death. So, God takes death so serious in the Old Testament.
[15:11] He said, if you come into contact with a dead body, you have to go through purification, right? So many, just a dead body. So, if you live in a house and someone dies in the house, you can't enter the temple from there. You can't enter the congregation of the saints.
[15:23] You have to go through processes. You have to go through process, washing, cleansing. So, yeah. Yeah. I mean, but death is something we do if, I mean, human death.
[15:42] But God put strict measures in hand, come into contact with death, dead body. You touch a dead body, you can't go into the synagogue or the temple on the Sabbath.
[15:58] Okay. Okay. Number. Say, he who touches the dead body of another shall be unclean seven days. That's a serious one. Unclean. Yeah.
[16:08] There are different laws they give them anyway. But that's, I'm just saying this for you to know how serious God sees death. And he says that, by one man, sin entered.
[16:22] How did he come? You know, when we opened the door, you could feel some breeze. Yeah. How did he come? By this door, the breeze came. But the breeze that came also came with maybe cold.
[16:35] You understand that? So, by one man, sin entered. And by sin, death came in. Death.
[16:47] Death is a very dangerous thing. And when you read the scripture, chapter seven of Romans, he said, oh, wretched, oh, wretched, 24, I'm sorry.
[17:00] Oh, wretched man that I am. Let's all read it out. Let's go. Oh, wretched man that I am. Who will deliver me from the story of death? Oh, read it like you're reading for yourself. Oh, wretched man that I am.
[17:12] Who will deliver me from the story of death? Yeah. This English standard version.
[17:22] English standard version. It's interesting how the versions put some things. This body of the... Okay, the New American standard version. Then we can move. Let's read from the New American version.
[17:34] That's the right one. Let's go. Wretched man that I am. Who will set me free from the body of death? Oh, wretched man that I am. Who shall deliver me from the body of this death?
[17:46] New American standard version. Oh, wretched man that I am. Who will set me free from the body of which death?
[17:58] There's a death we are talking about. It's not every death. There's a particular death. There's a particular death that has taken over this body.
[18:11] And I just want someone to deliver me from the body of this death. It's in verse 11.
[18:22] This death thing is verse 11. Let's read it. Let's go. Let's go. He killed me.
[18:35] King James is slain. He is killed. Killed. So death worked in me. Through sin. Sin.
[18:47] Sin as an action and sin as a principle. Sin as a principle is a system in your body. No. It says that sin took advantage of the law.
[19:05] It's like, okay, I've made up my mind. Anytime, like let me even use a husband and wife. Anytime your wife or your husband really upsets you, you have made up your mind that I won't say anything.
[19:19] When I'm upset, I won't say you make that law. How many of you understand? You make a law and then that's when you actually start breaking the law. If you have not made that law and you have just flow, there would have been nothing to break.
[19:38] But when the law came, there's something stronger than your will inside you. It took advantage of this law that has come and used the law to rather kill you.
[19:54] Death is raining. In Romans chapter 8, verse 6. Let's read Romans chapter 8, verse 6.
[20:05] Let's go. The first statement today. Let's go. One more time. It looks like death.
[20:21] This death we are talking about has a fortress. It has a hiding place. And its hiding place is in your flesh. That's why I said, who will deliver me from the body of this death?
[20:34] Something has entered and taken over. This death is not talking about death as in somebody being in a casket and died.
[20:47] No. This one is every day you are alive and something is killing you. Death is working. When anybody is dead, can they obey the law?
[20:59] When anybody is dead, can they drink water? When somebody is dead, can they jump? When somebody is dead, can they pray? No. Inability to do.
[21:12] Is the manifestation of death. You really want to please God. You are really trying not to watch it. You are really trying not to say anything to gossip about that lady.
[21:30] You are really trying not to do it. How many of you have tried not to do it? Yes. Yes. I am trying. You have been trying. You have been trying that God, I am going to pray for one hour.
[21:44] You have been trying that I will come to church early. You have been trying that I won't let anything upset me in church. You even get upset at the door before you enter.
[21:55] And throughout the preaching, you fold your arms, you can't smile. I really want to do this thing for God with God.
[22:07] But your will to do God, there is something at work. That doesn't even seem to come into action. Until you decide to step up towards God.
[22:22] They say, hey! Something tries to block you from doing good. All your attempts to be doing good to please God always keep failing.
[22:34] You are trying. God, I am trying to do good. I am trying to do good. I am trying to do good. I am trying to do good. I am trying to do good. I am trying to do good. I am trying to do good. Four laws that were mentioned. Four laws.
[22:44] Four laws. Chapters 7, verse. Okay, let's start from verse 14. Four, we know that the law is spiritual.
[22:56] What law are we talking about? This, I think, let's go on. Let me read four. So, I think, let's jump to 20. 20. 20. All right.
[23:12] So, verse 20 says that, now if I do that, I would not. It is no more I that do it, but sin that dwells in me. I find then a law. Say a law.
[23:23] A law. That when I would do good, evil is present with me. So, this is a law. All right. For I delight in, that's 21.
[23:34] I delight in the law of God. What? The law of God. So, now you can see the law of God. And then, when you look at the verse 22. For I delight in the law of God.
[23:45] 23 says that, but I see another law where? In my members. Okay. Another law in my members. Worrying against what?
[23:56] The law of God. The law of God. Not the law of God. The law of my mind. So, it's like three laws mentioned here. The first one is the law of God. The second one, I've been saying this a while now.
[24:08] The second one is the law of my members. Third one is the law of my mind. Now, it looks like the law of God is outside of me.
[24:20] So, there is something coming from outside to place a demand on me. And then, there is something in my mind which agrees with the law of God.
[24:31] So, I want to do the law of God. But there is something called the law in my members. Which now seems to have more power over me than the law of my mind.
[24:46] So, the law of my mind is me. Let me put it this way. There are only, there are three persons on this, operating on this earth. God, you, and the devil.
[25:00] And all these three persons can find an expression in you when you are born again. When you are not born again, the divine life is not in you.
[25:14] So, God's life cannot be expressed through you. When you are born again, you are regenerated by the life of God. So, the life of God can be expressed through you.
[25:25] Okay. So, we have in the garden the same thing. Man, God, and the devil. Your life is a mini garden of Eden. Maybe it's not a garden of Eden, but some garden.
[25:41] You are there. The serpent is already in. And when you are born again, the Lord is also in. These are three.
[25:52] Now, at any given instance, it's one of these persons that are in action. Either just your mind or the life of God or the evil one is manifesting through you, even though you can be born again.
[26:13] Now, because of the sin, death took over our bodies.
[26:24] And now, will not allow us, the body of death, will not allow us, will not allow the, okay, let me put this in. Sorry.
[26:34] Let me put it this way. Law. I spoke about three laws already. Three. Oh, three persons. Sorry. Three lives. The life of God. The life of the evil one. And your natural life.
[26:46] Every life has a law that goes with it. So, your life, you have a law. The things you want to do. How you like your things. And where you want to go. That's your life. The law of your life.
[26:56] And then the law of God. And the life of God also has its law. You want to do the things of God. You want to do church. You want to worship. You want to forgive. You want to love.
[27:07] You want to work by faith. That's the love of God. Sorry. The life of God brings that law. And then the life of the devil which entered us from Adam, it also is the one that produces evil.
[27:20] So, then the fact that some, you know, sometimes you think that someone is a lecturer, so he's a good person. They can be good today, but only go and see what you do on the weekend. The amount of evil that can come through you.
[27:31] The same person who was so nice at one point in time. That's why exes are committed evil. Ex. Your ex. Your ex who loves you so much.
[27:47] Your ex who loved you so much. Those of you who don't have exes. Thank God for your life. Welcome to our club. Many ladies really hate their ex.
[28:02] Apart from the ones they left. For a better option. But the ones who left you.
[28:13] You haven't gotten over Leroy. You haven't gotten over Tyrone. Del Roy.

[28:49] And sometimes you have mixed feelings. Very painful bitterness and anger. Even though Johnny has come. You take Johnny to.

[29:19] Years ago. My friend in Bible school. He had to break their relationship. Because he realized that this lady hasn't got over. Her ex. They go. The kind of suits.
[29:30] She tries to choose for him. Clothes. She tries to choose. Everything's like. That's what the guy used to like. Anyway.
[29:49] But. Most of the people you love. Who loved you. Or you love them. Sometimes you change. Why do you think people divorce?
[29:59] There are people who really. Their love is. Nothing can separate them. They are BBFs. Nothing can separate them. And now they become enemies for life. Why?
[30:10] Because. The human nature. Has duplicity. You have good in you. You have evil in you. But when you are born again. You have a third.
[30:21] Life in you. Which is the life of God. Now watch this. The law of God is outside of you. But it says that there's a law of my mind. Which wants to do the law of God.
[30:33] But I find within me. There's another law of my members. Which stops me from doing the law of God. Then in Romans chapter 8.
[30:44] Verse 2. It said. The spirit of life. Sorry. The law. Of the spirit of life. Has done what?
[30:56] From what? The law of God. So. Now. I realize there are four laws. What are the laws?
[31:07] One. The law of God. The law of your members. On my mind. And then. My members three. And then. And then. The law of sin. So.
[31:18] The law. The law. The law of my members. Is the law of sin. That's sin. Is using. Working in my flesh. Because it's. It's. It's base.
[31:29] Like the way. America has got a base. In Niger. It's base. Military base of sin. Is your flesh. The flesh. That is why I said.
[31:39] If you set your mind. On the flesh. You will die. Because death is operating. It's base. Is in the flesh. The base.
[31:50] Of death. Is in the flesh. That is in my flesh. Verse 18. For I know that nothing good dwells with. That is. In my flesh. In my flesh.
[32:03] Not your skin. Okay. Your. Your original self. Outside of God. Then you. That's my nature. That's. That's where. The death is living in.
[32:16] That's me. That's for me. That's me. You don't know me. That's me. You want to see who I am. That's me. Yes. That's the flesh. And it says that.
[32:27] Sin dwells there. That is in my flesh. Nothing good is there. Because. That's where death is operating from. So. We see the spirits. The law. The law of God.
[32:39] The law of my mind. The law of sin and death. Okay. And then. The law of God. The law of the spirit of life. These four laws. So let's repeat them.
[32:51] The law of God. The law of my mind. The law of sin and death. And then. The law of the spirit of life. Okay.
[33:02] Now. If you are not born again. You don't have power. Over the law of sin and death. But if you are born again. I can't tell.
[33:12] You can't. You can't tell me. Sin is every human being. So you can never be without sin. If you are born again. Yes you can. Yes. You can. Your problem is because. You have been trying to do good.
[33:23] You have been trying to do good. Look at verse 21. I like it.
[33:34] I love verse 21. I love verse 21. I love verse 21. It looks like there is another law that has not been mentioned. Verse 21. Let's already allow. Let's go. I love verse 21. Evil is present with me.
[33:45] The one who wants to do good. Evil is present with me. The one. I mean. Anytime I want to do good. Something gets activated. When it's dormant.
[33:58] It's sin. When it's. Oh. When it's dormant. Look. Look. Look at verse 18 again. Now. If I. Now. If I do that.
[34:09] I would not. It is no more. I that do it. But sin that do it. Sin. Sin is repository me. It's just there. It's just there.
[34:20] When I attempt to do good. Then it becomes active. Evil. So it looks like there is a law. That only gets activated.
[34:32] When I try to do good. It's a no wonder. When you try to do good.
[34:47] Wow. Evil. Gets activated. It's that. It's present with me. Who wants to do good. Not the one who has no plan to do good. Me. Isn't that verse 21?
[34:59] Let's read it out. Let's go. I find that the law. I find that I would do. Evil is present with me. Yes. Let's read from American. New American.
[35:10] Let's go. I find that the principle. That evil is present with me. The one who wants to do good. Not the other one. Not the other person. It's me.
[35:21] The one who wants to do good. You won't realize. It's present. Until you attempt to do the good. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. Wow. When you attempt to do good.
[35:34] That's when you realize that evil is actually present with you. And he said, I find a principle. King James said, I find a law. It's a law in the system.
[35:46] Wow. It looks like the laws are five. It's a law in your system. And that law, that law only works. That law only gets activated.
[35:58] When you have. That's why when people say, you know, this year I'm struggling. I've been trying to do Christianity, but it's hard. It's hard. How many of you have been saying that before?
[36:09] It's so hard. It's so hard. It's so hard. Why? Because of this, the body of this death.
[36:21] Death is in the body. In the flesh. And so when you try to do good. When you try to behave good. When you try to do. You see, death.
[36:33] The death that is present in the body. Weakens your ability to want to. Dead people can't act. Death.
[36:44] Oh. Sometimes, you know, you have those strange dreams. Or attacks. And then it's like, you're apparently asleep. You're even trying to say, hallelujah. Hallelujah. You barely manage and try.
[36:57] As soon as I say, Jesus, then. Sometimes your mind is saying that Jesus. But you can't just. How many of you know what? You are trying.
[37:08] Your mind is active. The law of your mind. But there is another force. In your body. The law of sin and death.
[37:20] It's death. Death is present with us. Oh. So. You don't overcome death.
[37:30] By trying to do something. How do you overcome death? No, Jenna. How do you overcome death? It's a love.
[37:43] Christ, Christ, Christ, Jesus. When somebody is dying in the hospital, what do they do? It's okay. It's okay. The law of spirit of life.
[37:54] The law of spirit of life. The only way death can be overcome is the introduction of life. Not the introduction of works.
[38:04] You see? You see? You've been trying to behave right as a Christian. Behave good.
[38:14] That's where your struggles are. Stop trying to do good. As a Christian. Because, I didn't say, don't do good.
[38:28] You might not be able to continue. Yeah. You might start. But death will catch up with you. Death will catch up with you.
[38:40] And then, by the time you realize, For four and a half months, You haven't watched porn.
[38:52] That's an achievement. New record. It's a miracle. It's a miracle. New record. New record. It's a new record. For seven months, you have not missed him.
[39:08] And you are doing well. You are doing well. And you love it. Yes. For six weeks, you have not argued with your wife.
[39:24] And you feel this thing is working. This thing is working. This is working. It's working. It's working. It's working.
[39:35] It's working. It's working. So, it's working for you. But it looks like, you know, There are people who try to... How many of you, when you got born again, truly, Some people told you, These two weeks, you will come back.
[39:54] Even you yourself. You begin to wonder. But how many of you surprised yourself That after two years, you are still doing well? Oh, yes. Oh, yes. It's not because you wanted to do good.
[40:07] You tried to do good. Because there is... Now, the nature in you, when you are born again, You have the nature of the life of God, Which comes with the law of God, The law of life.
[40:20] You have the law, Or your nature, The human nature, Which has its own law. And you have the nature of sin. That prostitute is dead.
[40:31] All this. But unfortunately, Your... The law of your mind, Or your human life, Is the weakest. So that is why, There are things you actually want to do, But this other nature in you, The nature of the evil one, In you, Is making it impossible for you to do what you originally want to do.
[40:55] Hello? How many of you have done things you vowed you never do? Even there are people who didn't lift their hands, But they vowed that they won't lie in church again.
[41:07] Now they have no. It's a law. It's a law. It's a law.
[41:18] It's a law. So what's the point here? Where we are heading towards, Is that, Buries, A law in your mind, Which is the weakest.
[41:33] And the nature of the evil one, Is able to overpower it. And that, That body of death, Is stronger. Because death is very strong.
[41:46] And it, It takes over your will. So sometimes, Let me show you how the flesh works. Sit down, You can, That's, That's your wife.
[41:57] And your wife, Did something that was not right. Or she, Um, She always keep burning. Or leaving the oven on, And things keep burning.
[42:09] And, And alarm will go off. Every time. Every time. And you've taught, You've taught her this. You've taught her everything. In fact, Fire brigade has come to teach her. You have book tests for her.
[42:21] Everything. And then, You've installed all kinds of things in there. You went out. If I heard the story of, A woman who used to bang, Doors.
[42:32] A lot. When she goes out of her room, She'll bang. Bam. Others too will leave doors. But this one will bang. Bam. And, It used to, Really upset the husband.
[42:46] Very badly. And it was bringing a lot of tension in their marriage. So, They went for a counselor. No, no, no. One day they decided to talk. They are Christians. They decided, Let's talk. And the husband said, No, When you bang doors, It really, Annoys me.
[43:01] It really gets to my core. And the wife said, I didn't realize that. I didn't realize. I'm so sorry. I won't do that again. Please forgive. So, Okay, So, I went down.
[43:12] Bam. So, You see, You haven't, She has done the wrong thing.
[43:23] And you are busy judging her. Because, She's in the wrong. You see, You are dealing with right and wrong law. But you are not dealing with, You, She might look wrong.
[43:35] But, In the sight of God, You are not operating by life. The life of God. Because, The life of God, Will not focus on wrong or right. The life of God focuses on the purpose of God.
[43:47] The nature of God. The Christ of God. Now, The point I'm trying to make, Is that you're, There's so much weakness in you. You, You can't do the good you really want to do. So, If you keep trying to do good, You keep failing.
[44:00] Because, The death in your body, Is stronger, Than your will, To be able to do something. Now, How do I overcome this death? Is the life of Christ inside you. Now, In Romans chapter 8, Verse 10, It talks about, Let's look at, Verse 10, Romans 8, 10, It said, And if Christ be in you, The body is dead because of it.
[44:19] But the spirit is alive because of it. There's a life inside you. It's called the resurrection life. It deals, It's able to deal with death. And so, The resurrection life is so powerful.
[44:31] When you begin to live by that resurrection life, What it does is, It's able to hold to account, Or hold to ransom, Or arrest the power of death in your flesh.
[44:42] So, Instead of trying to do good, Live in the spirit. Then, Oh, That's why I said, Walk in the spirit. And you, Oh, I feel like preaching. Walk in the spirit, And you will not fulfill the desires of the flesh.
[44:58] Then, We must be masters of, Because it says that, No, Romans 10, 16, 8, 10, For if Christ be in you, The body is dead because of sin, But the spirit is life.
[45:11] The spirit is life. It didn't say it's alive. It didn't say it's alive. Now, Watch, I know, I know what you'll be thinking. Give me, New King James, Let's see, If it, Or give me, New American Standard, Let's just, You see, The New American Standard is a very good version.
[45:30] I don't know why I charismatically this, Move out to King James. Because from my studies, I realized that, Its translation, Is a bit more accurate, No, The spirit, Look at King James, The spirit, Capital, This is not the Holy Spirit.
[45:47] Wow. Look at New American Standard Version. It's the spirit, It's alive. You know, But then, That's translations. It's actually, The spirit is life.
[45:58] Now, What's the spirit here? The spirit is, Your human spirit, That has been infused, With the spirit of God. So, The spirit of God is now, That's the, If anyone, The spirit of life, The law of the spirit of life, It's a spirit, And it's oppressed, From your spirit, And its desire, Is to begin to spread, Into your mind, And begin to affect, Every aspect of your life.
[46:20] But most, Most Christians, Don't live by the spirit. That's why it says that, Verse 6, Romans 8, Romans 8, Romans 8, Romans 8, It says that, For to be carnally minded, Is death, But to be spiritually minded, Is life and peace.
[46:34] If you can start focusing, On the spirit, That's when you begin, To enjoy the life of God, And when life comes, Death cannot reign. Death cannot reign. So, Instead of praying, God, Help me, I want to, Help me to try, To do good.
[46:50] I want to, I want to try to do good. Start living by the spirit. Lord, Let me focus on the spirit. Let me set my mind, On spiritual things. Let me set my mind, On spiritual things.
[47:01] And stop thinking about, If I do this, Is it good? If I do that, Start living by the spirit. And let the Christ in you, Begin to find an expression in you. The life in the spirit.
[47:13] That's the real Christian life. The real Christian life, Is not based on the good things you do. But the real Christian life, Is because, I can look at, Or say, And he might be behaving good. But he's not, In line with God.
[47:26] That's why I said earlier on, Death, It doesn't only operate by bad things. The tree of the, It can be good, By still bringing death.
[47:38] It can be evil, By still bringing death. It's that, The tree of the knowledge of good and evil. That one is what is bringing the death. But there was a tree of life. There was a tree, Oh, Kadababa, Shakadaya.
[47:51] There was a tree of life. That brings the zoe into you. Yeah! Tree of life. You have created. The only way, You can live, A godly life, Is by depending, On the godly life.
[48:06] Download that, Download that in your spirit. Religious people are full of, What you do, What you don't have to do, Take boxes.
[48:19] But spiritual people, It starts from, You may not even see them act, But the mind of the spirit, Their mind is set on the spiritual things.
[48:30] When they are dealing with you, They assess you, They relate with you, Based on spiritual mindedness. Not what's convenient. Not what's, Sometimes it might be, Even inconvenient for them.
[48:43] But they know, That this is what the spirit will like. And this is spiritual. Your husband didn't do something right. Or your wife didn't do something right. And you really have to nail this thing.
[48:54] But at that material moment, It is not spiritually sound to do that. What do you gain? And so, It's not convenient, It's like forgiveness.
[49:10] But if I attempt to forgive people, I might leave, I might end up, I might succeed one or two times. But not all the time. But if I tend to live by my spirits, And be spiritually minded, I won't be praying, God help me to forgive.
[49:30] The life of the spirit, Generates the ability, To live by the spirit, And overpower, The spirit of death. Overpower, Death which has a fortress in my flesh.
[49:44] Death has settled in my flesh. So, To be carnally minded, If you set your mind, On the things of the flesh, You will die. You, That's what the Bible said.
[49:56] Say you will die. One of the translations, Use the word, Yeah, Which one? New American standard version. It said, For the mind set on the flesh, It's death. Death. Why? Because, Death has a base.
[50:09] It death operates in the flesh. That's why, When we got born again, We used to talk about, Why are you in the flesh? Right? They, They eroded all this, People are in church, Pastors are fighting against pastors.
[50:24] Pastors are arguing, I've seen pastors, Who are at the point of holding throat, And fighting. And I'm wondering, This is not the Christianity, I knew. I've seen pastors, Who can be so carnal, And so flesh, And they don't see anything wrong with it.
[50:40] They are very comfortable with it. I mean, It's not based on strength, But, It's not based on just doings, But people are comfortable in the flesh.
[50:50] That's why, You're able to fight your wife, The way you're able to do. That's why, You can be a Christian, And look at your wife, And say, You're a very stupid woman. Stupid woman.
[51:01] Useless. Flesh. And when you finish, You are praying. We are saying, Thank you Jesus. Thank you my God. We are saying. You are in church, But you are in the flesh.
[51:16] That's why, You don't talk to your husband. Father. There are people in the church, You don't talk to. There are people in the church, You have made up your mind, This one.
[51:27] No. It's not because, The people are carnal, And they create divisions in the church. Those who are, Bible says avoid. Yeah. Avoid. It's not like, You are at loggerheads, But they are not your type.
[51:41] But there are people, Fellow believers. You are both in department. You are set up, You are usher, And you are angry, Because there's, You are crisscrossing each other.
[51:53] Flesh. And you can have meetings, And you see, People, Boiling and are very angry, Over doing the work of God. Flesh. Working, Walking in the flesh.
[52:07] Walking, It has become, So common, So normal, So usual, In the modern day church, Especially the tongue talking ones. That's what those, Who don't talk, They have always been like, The bishops said, Oh, Yeah.
[52:23] Flesh. You will not sing, Because you are not the one to lead. So you chose not to sing. You chose not to sing. You don't like tenor.
[52:33] And the leader said, No, You do, You don't like alto. And they said, You do alto. You prefer soprano. And because of that, Throughout the song ministration, You are spoiling the song, And you are singing, Yeah.
[52:50] Flesh. Flesh. Flesh. And when you finish, You are doing outreach. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
[53:00] Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Fleshly Christians are beginning to dominate the skyline of the church. Wow. Fleshly Christians. Fleshly Christians.
[53:15] That's why you are flitting without restrictions. Yeah. Yeah. In the church. At least let something prick your heart. Yeah. Let something prick your heart.
[53:28] We have, We have been, We have, We have been, Clouded, By spiritual activities. Thinking is spiritual.
[53:39] Wow. I find it, I find it, Difficult, Now that's I'm growing, To claim to be spiritual, And, Your husband is always sad about you.
[53:54] Hey. Or your wife. There's always tension. 24-7, In your marriage. Mm. And it doesn't go. Mm. How do you reconcile that with spirituality?
[54:06] How? How? I mean, How? Some of us are fake. Mm. We, We, We keep up with the juices. Mm. Mm. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.
[54:16] Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Some people can lie, White lie. What's a white lie? They know you don't know the whole story. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. But they are, They are telling you something, And you, And they make sure your mind doesn't come on the actual one.
[54:31] They move your mind far away. And they are managed to make you think that way, Whilst they keep you away from thinking this way. And they know what they are doing. You are in church.
[54:47] And, When the word of God is taught, Instead of receiving it with meekness, You are thinking, Somebody is going to tell pastor something. You see, You see where carnality is catching?
[54:58] You see where you are being caught? You are thinking, You are thinking, Is it because someone told him something? Is that, Is that me? Is it me you're talking about? Is it me you're talking about? Flesh. Flesh. Flesh. The mind that is set on the flesh will die.
[55:12] That's when death is, Is keeping you. It has arrested you. And you are trying to do good, When death has arrested you. Stop praying and asking God to, To help you not, To try to do good.
[55:24] Start living by the spirit. Turn to your spirit. Be spiritually minded. Set your heart on the things of the spirit. Spiritually minded. It is, It is, I started pastoring, And recently I began to realize that, People can be in the church, And they don't talk to each other.
[55:40] And there are people who, Every time you have, You have problems, I don't understand you. The other thing I was telling somebody, How come, You have been in a church for more than two years, And you don't have, A trusted, Or a good Christian brother, Or Christian sister, Who you can say, Is my friend in church, We pray together, You don't have any friend.
[55:59] And such people, Is the pastor they want to be close to. Yeah, They are politicians. Politicians. They say they don't, Never, Never trust the spirituality of anybody, Who says I don't trust people.
[56:12] Never trust their spirituality. You are a long ranger, You are not, The fact that you are a long ranger, Tells me you are not, You are not spiritual. Many people don't care about spirituality. They care about how they appear.
[56:24] They care about tick boxes. They care about, They want to look good, And do good. But you are not spiritual. That is the problem. You are not spiritual. You are not spiritual. That's why you can say things, Behind people's back, In such a deal, And you see them, And behave like, You never know anything about that.
[56:44] That's why you are in the church, Amen, Amen. But, You have your own version. When we finish, You go and tell people, Different stories. You are not spiritual. This lady offended me, I didn't really like the way she did, But I met Christy and well, No, Let's get on and do good work.
[57:00] That spiritual minded person, That spiritual minded person. People are screaming and shouting, But they are not spiritual. And death is still raining.
[57:11] And they have not been delivered, From the body of this death. Somebody say, Lord have mercy.
