[0:00] Hallelujah! We thank God you have tuned in to this message by David M. Tree at Carus Church. No hand can help you with the fulfillment of your destiny but the Word of God. May God hand a line with you further into your destiny through this Word.

[0:14] I'm reading from Acts chapter 1. Reading from verse 4 to verse 14.

[0:24] And being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the province of the Father, which he says, He's heard of me. For John truly baptized with water, but he shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days from hence.

[0:45] When they therefore were come together, they asked him, saying, Lord, will thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel? And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons which the Father has put in his power, but he shall receive power.

[1:04] After that the Holy Ghost is come upon you, and ye shall be witnesses unto me, both in Jerusalem and in Judea and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost parts of the earth.

[1:18] And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up, and a cloud received him out on their sight.

[1:29] And while they looked steadfastly towards heaven, as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white opera, which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven?

[1:44] Thus saim Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner, as you have seen him go into heaven. Then returned they unto Jerusalem from there, Mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem, a Sabbath day's journey.

[2:03] And when they had come in, they went up into an upper room, where are both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James, the son of Alphys, and Simon, Zelotus, and Judas, the brother of James.

[2:23] These all continued with one accord, in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary, the mother of Jesus, with his brethren.

[2:40] Here ends the reading of God's holy word. Now I would want to read from Isaiah chapter 40, verse 28.

[2:52] It says that, Hast thou not known, hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the creator of the ends of the earth, fainted not, neither is he weary.

[3:04] There is no searching of his understanding. He gives, he giveth power to the faint, and to them that have no might, he increaseth strength.

[3:17] Even the youth shall faint, and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall. But, they that wait upon the Lord, shall renew their strength.

[3:30] They shall mount up with wings as eagle. They shall run, and not be weary. They shall walk, and not faint. Here ends the reading of God's word.

[3:42] Please let's pray. Father, thank you. We pray, that as you have enabled us to gather here, to hear your word, as your word is taught, we pray that reveal yourself to us.

[3:55] There are so many questions in life, which some we are aware of, and others we are not aware of, but most of them we don't even know the answers for.

[4:06] We pray, you who are the answer of life, you who are the source of life, as your word is taught, speak to us in ways that man can't even do it.

[4:16] I submit myself, Holy Spirit, under your influence. Spare me, Lord, from grieving you. Spare me from quenching you. I pray that I will be a vessel, overflowing with your power, and your grace, into your people, and into as many as hear this message today.

[4:36] I pray, speak to us. Use me as a communication channel, to communicate to us, your oracles, and the unsearchable riches of Christ, from the pages of scripture.

[4:52] That at the end of the day, we, as human beings, shall be filled, with all the fullness, of God, to your glory. In Jesus name. Amen.

[5:06] Welcome, to Flight Holy Ghost. Hallelujah. Talking about, waiting. The blessedness, of waiting, for the Holy Spirit.

[5:21] Waiting for the Spirit. To wait, is not a waste. There are things you wait for, that never happen. But when it comes to the Spirit, when you wait, you always, are the one who benefits greatly.

[5:38] I saw, the text we read, from Acts chapter 1, that, Jesus verse 4, he told them, to wait, wait, in Jerusalem.

[5:49] Wait, in Jerusalem. Wait, for the promise. Because it's a promise. God has said it, so it's worth waiting for it. So wait for the promise of the Father, which, you have heard, from me.

[6:01] So, that means, that in his deliberations with them, in his conversations with them, he actually, made sure, they were aware, of the Holy Spirit.

[6:11] Now, this were, this is a very important point, I'm about to be, let me even, take it further. And, Bible says that, whilst they waited, where he, these were the last words of Jesus, in his earthly life, in his physical, not earthly life.

[6:28] The last words, were captured, very clearly, in Acts chapter 1, from verse 4, when they had gathered. This is, Acts chapter 1, is not pre-resurrection, is post-resurrection.

[6:44] Actually, alright, look up from verse 1, in Acts chapter 1, reading from verse 1, the scriptures say, that the former treatise, I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began to do, both to do, and to teach, until the day he was taken up.

[7:00] After that, he, through the Holy Ghost, had given commandments, unto the apostles, whom he had chosen, to whom also, he showed himself, this is, what he's now saying, he showed himself, alive, after his crucifixion, the passion means, his suffering.

[7:18] After, that's why, you know, the passion of the Christ, the movie, the suffering of the Christ. He presented himself, alive, new King James, after his suffering, by, many infallible, proofs, being seen by them, during, 40 days, and speaking, of the things, pertaining to the kingdom.

[7:37] So, this is, after the resurrection, he was talking about, how he was with them. Then the verse four, he commanded them, when they had assembled together, he commanded them, to wait in Jerusalem, and not to depart, but to wait for the, promise of the father, which he said, you've heard from me.

[7:53] So, he started talking to them about, then he says, he's mentioned John, because John was the one, who came to point, his assignment to the people, which in our previous teachings, you are aware of.

[8:05] Then, they brought, an existential question, because they were under, occupation of the Romans. So, at what time are you going, to restore the kingdom, to Israel? And he said, it is not for you to know, the times and the seasons, God has set in his power, you know, in authority, just leave that.

[8:21] But what is important, to you now, is you shall receive power, after the Holy Ghost, has come upon you, and you shall be witnesses of me. I was teaching, during the weekend, I said, one of the clearest, signs, of the presence, of the Holy Spirit, on a person, is not just character, but power.

[8:39] Because here, he said, you shall receive power, when the Holy Ghost comes. Now, this is coming, for the work of God. Now, I need to, mention this, because, it has been, a subject, theological subject, of, a bone of contention, among theological, um, personnel.

[9:00] There are some, who don't believe in, they believe, the cessation, the cessation, they believe that. So, but, I quoted from this scripture, that, when the Holy Ghost came, Peter said, this is that which, was spoken, how power, my spirit upon, all flesh.

[9:16] So, there are people, who don't believe in this. But, one of their points is, that, pentacles, pentacles, was never, meant to be repeated. It happened, and after the Bible, was written, you don't need, miracles again, because God did miracles, just to authenticate, the apostolic authority.

[9:34] So, after the, last apostles, there are no apostles anymore, everything, I've seen, Paul, them, you know, and this is, some of the, question, you know, when you read, the book of Acts, you see, people receiving, the Holy Spirit.

[9:49] So, that's, if you say, it has stopped, what was the meaning of that? And they say, all those people, who received the Holy Spirit, that was their, born again experience. So, they believe that, Holy Ghost baptism, is the same as being, born again.

[10:03] They believe that, you can't separate the two. So, when you are born again, you have the Holy Spirit. So, there's no difference. But, when you look at, the context of scripture, in, Jesus' discourse with his, the teachings to his disciples.

[10:21] In Luke chapter 11, he taught on prayer. He taught on prayer. And then, after he taught on prayer, they came to him, as he was praying, they came to teach us to pray.

[10:33] So, that's where our Father, we're at in heaven. And, after teaching on prayer, he, tells, tells them from verse 11, Luke 11, 11, that, if a son, say a son, ask for a bread, from any father.

[10:49] So, this is father-son relationship. Right? Say father-son. Father-son. Father-son, if a son asks for bread, from a father, amongst you, will he give him a stone?

[11:03] Or, if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent, instead of a fish? Verse 12, or, if he asks for a, will he give him a scorpion?

[11:14] Verse 13. No, this is a rhetorical question. Verse 11 and 12. That means, it doesn't need an answer. It doesn't need, it's like, if you see someone in the hospital, definitely, it's either, coming from medical region, or coming to visit somebody, or bring, it's for med health.

[11:32] It's not about cars. So, if you see me in the, in the hospital, obviously, it's not because I'm looking for a car to buy. Do you think I'm looking for a car to buy, see me in the hospital?

[11:43] So, it's a rhetoric, you don't have to answer it. It's a question, that implies that, it doesn't need an answer, to know what it is. So, Jesus Christ, says that, if a son asks a father, for bread, will he give him a stone?

[11:58] No one does that. No, no one does that. He'll ask for, fish. Will he give him a snake? He says, snake, take it. He asks for, egg, will you give him a scorpion? Don't do that.

[12:08] He says that, then they were stating. So now, let me use that, natural analogy to explain something spiritual. If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, this is where the thing comes.

[12:20] How much more, will your heavenly father, give what? To, those who ask, father, son, your heavenly father, give them, if you are born again, why are you, if you have the Holy Spirit, why are you going to ask?

[12:38] Why would you ask for what you, or maybe you're talking to unbelievers, you're saying that the Holy Spirit comes at a time of conversion. Why would an unbeliever ask for the Holy Spirit? Unbelievers won't have the appetite to ask for the Holy Spirit.

[12:52] So, if you say it's not believers who ask, believers already have it, then who is this person who is going to be asking? Did you understand the point? If unbelievers won't ask, and believers have already, then who is he talking about, should we ask him from the father?

[13:06] That means that, when we talk about the Holy Spirit baptism, first of all, you have to be a believer. Then after you have believed, it goes on like Peter, Paul, meeting certain disciples, in Acts chapter 19, he met them, and he said, have you received the Holy Spirit since you believed?

[13:28] They said, no. He said, come on. Into what then were you baptized? They said, John's baptism. And what did he say? John's baptism is a baptism of repentance.

[13:40] Watch this. Permit me to say something, about the full spectrum, of the believer's experience. Four things that must happen for the complete cycle of being a believer.

[13:55] Number one, you have to repent. Right? Number two, you have to believe that Jesus is the Son of God. Number three, you have to be baptized, like we gave certificates this morning.

[14:09] Baptized in water. And then number four, you have to receive the Holy Spirit. When you look in the book of Acts, it was, these are the things that happened, the complete born again experience.

[14:21] The believer says, what makes you, the full cycle of a believer's experience. So when you study the book of Acts, everyone who really came to Jesus, had this full experience.

[14:33] Repent, believe, baptize, receive. And so in Acts chapter 2, verse 37, they asked, what shall we do?

[14:43] What did the Bible say in verse 38? He says that, repent, say repent. That's where it starts from. Repentance is necessary for coming in.

[14:54] So, when Peter met these believers, watch this, in Acts chapter 19, they had repented, but the rest haven't happened. So Paul had to carry out the other three for them.

[15:07] So, he says that, into what then were you baptized? They said, John, that's okay, repentance is the beginning. But look at, it says that, he told them, believe, that they should believe, on Jesus who is coming.

[15:19] So he realized that they have just done the repentance, but now they have to go on to the believing. So look at the next verse, when they are headed, they were all baptized in the name, so the physical water baptism came in.

[15:31] So he told them, believe, that means they believed, and they were baptized into Jesus. Because they have repented. Now they have to believe, and be baptized. And then Bible says that, look at the next verse, verse 10, you can see, there's a difference between, they were baptized, look at verse 5 again, there's a difference between, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus, and then verse 6, when he laid his sons, so two separate incidents happened.

[15:56] The second one, he laid his sons on them, the first one, they baptized. So when he laid his sons on them, they received the Holy Spirit. So their experience was complete. They had repented, they had believed, they had been baptized, and they had received the Holy Spirit.

[16:12] These four things must happen to every believer. How about Saul of Stratus? He met Jesus Christ, on his way to Damascus, and he repented.

[16:23] That's why he did a utent, from killing, to now receiving those he was killing. And then there's a man, young man called Ananias. He made a brief appearance in scripture, and vanished.

[16:34] God sent him, go to Paul. He went to brother Saul. When he got there, he called the enemy of the church, brother Saul. Because he's not a brother.

[16:46] He's no more an enemy. He's brother Saul. He said, God who appeared to Jesus Christ, has sent me, and I'm coming to do three things for you. Three things. You should know what the three things should be.

[16:58] What are the three things? Because, all right, I'll tell you what the three things are. I'll tell you what the, he had already repented, and he had believed in Jesus.

[17:10] So now, the next thing he needed was baptism. You know the scripture I quoted in Acts chapter 26, verse 16. Ananias said, what are you waiting for? Get up and be baptized.

[17:20] So Ananias gave him water baptism, as well. He was water baptized, through the Ananias experience. This, he was telling what happened, when Ananias, Paul was telling his story of conversion.

[17:34] Ananias went. So, Ananias went to get him baptized, water baptism. He went to get, look at verse 17 again, Acts chapter 9. Are you learning something at all? It's good to come to church, and learn the scripture.

[17:46] In Acts chapter 9, verse 17 again, Ananias went his way, and entered the house, laying hands, and he laid his hand on him, and said, Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you, on the road, as you came, has sent me, that you might, what?

[18:04] See me. Because he was blind at that time, for three days. It happened three days ago. The third day, he hadn't seen, Ananias came to him, said, Jesus asked, that you should receive your sight, and not just that, and receive the Holy Spirit.

[18:21] Here, he didn't mention the baptism, but in Acts chapter 22, you saw he got him baptized. So, he went to see Saul, for three days. Baptized him, prayed for his healing, because his eyes were blind, because of the light.

[18:35] The blindness of the light, the light blinded him. He himself said this. He said, because of the brightness of the light. Oh, Kinnagrepa, at noon day, at noon day, I saw a light from heaven, at noon day, brighter than the sun.

[18:51] What? I saw a light. Midday is the time, the sun is in its full strength. He said, when the sun was in Israel, that midday, I saw another light.

[19:03] From heaven. I saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun. And it got him blind. So, Ananias had to go and pray for him, to receive his sight.

[19:16] In Acts chapter 8, when the apostles in Jerusalem, when they heard, verse 14, when the church, when they, you know what happened? When they were being persecuted by Saul, and the team, the people were being persecuted, so much in Jerusalem, they ran away from town.

[19:33] In Acts chapter 8, verse 1, when we were in Bible school, I will never forget this. We were studying on the Holy Spirit. It said, because Acts 1, 8 didn't happen, Acts 8, 1 had to happen.

[19:47] Because Acts 1, 8 says that, you shall receive power, when the apostles come, you shall be witnessing in Jerusalem, in Judea, in Samaria. They should have, some of you, instead of being ready to be sent out, you won't go.

[20:00] You don't want to be sent out, to do church work. All right. That's what happened. Yeah, you're anointing, revival. What do you think revival is?

[20:11] Revival sends people out. Revival sends people out. Acts chapter 8, verse 29. Revival sends people out. The Spirit will say, take you to Azonto. Stephen was caught, and sent to Azonto.

[20:28] Is that Azonto? Azonto? I forgot. You know, that's dancing. Azonto. I forgot you. Yeah, Azonto, that song, that dance is interrupted.

[20:42] It was found at Azonto. So, it's the Holy Spirit that sent him. Now, so, because Acts 8, 1 didn't happen, Acts 1, 8 didn't happen, you'll be witnesses of me in Jerusalem.

[20:55] Acts 8, 1 had to happen. Look at Acts 8, 1. Acts 8, 1 says that, now Saul was consenting to the death of Stephen. At that time, a great persecution arose against the church, which was at Jerusalem.

[21:08] And what happened? And they were all scattered throughout the region of Judea. And you shall be witness on me in Jerusalem, in Judea, in Samaria.

[21:19] And they were scattered. But the good news is, their scattering was God's way of reaching out to the world. So, when they came to verse 3 and verse 4, in Samaria, they were preaching.

[21:33] And then there, who scattered, went everywhere preaching the word. Ah, God wanted the word to be preached, but he had to scatter them through persecution. And verse 4 says that they went everywhere preaching.

[21:46] Now, look at what happened. You know Jews and Samaritans don't mix. No, they are not supposed to mix, according to their laws and traditions. And, that's why Jesus Christ, in chapter 4 of John, he was going to Jerusalem.

[22:03] And the Bible said, he had to, he had to go through Samaria. Why would you go through Samaria? You are not supposed to. And they went through Samaria, and they met the woman at the well.

[22:14] So, there was no need, he needed to go through Samaria. Normally, they don't go through Samaria. So, Jews and Samaria. And then, he asked water from the woman. And do you know what the woman said?

[22:25] Verse 9 or so. How is it that you, the woman said, how is it that you, being a Jew, ask drink from me, a Samaritan woman? Two problems. A Samaritan is a problem enough.

[22:38] That's why you hear the good Samaritan. Because so, a Jew who had been attacked, they are not supposed to have delits. So, when they were scattered, the Jerusalem, the church was scattered, most of them, for safety, went to Samaria.

[22:53] Because Jews won't come, the persecutors don't want to come to Samaria. But those who went to Samaria, ended up preaching the word there. So, Samaria, led by a deacon called Philip.

[23:06] Verse 5. So, Philip was a deacon, and he preached, there were miracles. Miracles were happening. And then, verse 15 says that people were born again.

[23:17] They received the word. But when now, the apostles were told, people in Samaria have received the word. Look at that. Let's all read it from the screen together.

[23:27] Let's start from verse 14. Let's go. When the apostles were at Jerusalem, heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them.

[23:38] Verse 15. Let's go. Who went there? That they might receive the Holy Spirit. They prayed for them, that they might receive it. But I told you, when people are born again, they have their spirit.

[23:50] That is the conclusion. If they are born again, they already have received Holy Ghost baptism. Why would they come and pray? Look at the next verse. It starts with four. Four. As yet. What? The Holy Spirit has not come on any of them.

[24:04] They had only been baptized. Did you see that? They have received the baptism. So they have repented. They have believed. They have been baptized.

[24:14] But there was one more thing. So they sent Peter and John when they came. But how would you know they haven't received? That means that when you reach the Holy Spirit baptism, there's something that will show.

[24:26] Something physical or outward that will show that they have received. So they received the Holy Ghost. So Peter and John, when they came, they prayed for them that they will receive the Holy Spirit. In verse 17.

[24:37] And when they laid their hands on them, that they will receive the Holy Spirit. Then in verse 18 said, it was noticeable. When people received the Holy Spirit, there's something you will notice. Simon the sorcerer, an ex-magician, saw that.

[24:49] Oh wow. They received it. Who and who were doing the laying on of hands? Peter and John. So that supposes that not all of them received. They all received, but not at the same time.

[25:00] You only receive when their hands are laid on you. So Simon the sorcerer realized. Okay, let me see what's. He's going to lay his hands on. Let's see what happened. They lay. Oh, he comes.

[25:11] Ah, this one. Oh. So if they have not laid their hands on you, it's not on you. When they lay hands on you, definitely when you receive the Holy Spirit, there's something that will show. This Holy Spirit baptism thing we are talking about.

[25:22] So Simon said, I want that. I'm into a one that. So I can lay hands on people and they will receive. Because he saw that hands were laid and then there was a correlation with receiving of the Holy Spirit and laying on of hands.

[25:37] Am I communicating something to you? So I'm trying to separate the, to let us know that being born again is not the same as receiving the Holy Spirit.

[25:48] In the book of Acts, being born again. All right. I know what they want to quote now. Now, in Acts chapter 10, verse 44, whilst Peter yet speak these words, he said, the Holy Ghost came upon the people.

[25:59] These are Gentiles who are not yet born again. They are now heard about Jesus and they believed, obviously. It starts with repentance and believing. And that's the, oh boy.

[26:11] Now listen, Peter in the first place, he didn't want to go. Right. He wouldn't go. And when he got to Cornelius house, he went to eat first. Yeah.

[26:23] They sat down. He shouldn't be mingling. That's why in the chapter 11, verse one to three, they heard that Peter has gone to eat. The church, verse two, when Peter came to Jerusalem, day of the circumcision, contended with him.

[26:36] Why? Verse three. See, you went to circumcise and ate. So he went and, read your Bible. He said, your Bible. He went and ate.

[26:47] So when he got there, they sent him a table and everything. And he preached Christ. And when he preached Christ, listen to this very carefully. Him in his right senses, knowing the order of how Jews should behave, will not violate God's plan.

[27:03] Why on earth will he baptize Gentiles? He chosen for them. So he won't do it. When it comes to born again experience, all the four, first three are done by men. If the first three doesn't happen, it happens by men.

[27:18] No human being can baptize you with the Holy Spirit. It's Jesus who does the baptism. Because he said, he's coming. He will baptize you. Jesus is the one who does the baptism of the Holy Spirit.

[27:29] So the first three, repentance. You have to repent. Jesus said repent. And he says that, they went and preached repentance to them. So you have to repent. And then when you repent, you have to believe.

[27:41] God doesn't do it for you. You have to believe. And then when you have belief, you have to, someone needs to baptize you. Jesus never came around, comes from heaven to baptize anybody. These people were baptized last week.

[27:52] We did the baptism. We did, it's chosen Jesus who did it. God didn't come from heaven to do that. We did the baptism. We put them in the water. Paul said, I thank God, first Corinthians chapter one, I thank God I didn't baptize any of you.

[28:04] You know, so it's human beings that do that. Baptism. So these three things, when it happens on human side, then God from heaven will also confirm that, I have asked, this one is genuinely born again.

[28:15] By receiving the Holy Spirit. But in the house of Cornelius, there was a problem. Because Peter would not baptize Gentiles. He went to just go and preach. It's preached and live.

[28:25] And as he was preaching in Acts chapter 10 verse 44, whilst Peter yet speak, the Holy Spirit, God steps aside him. So the people were not yet baptized. So it doesn't always have to be in that order.

[28:38] The first two are necessary. Repenting and believing, they are necessary. But sometimes, like what I taught you, Cornelius house, the receiving of the Holy Spirit came ahead.

[28:49] Because Peter wouldn't do it. So it was a confirmation to Peter that God has actually accepted them. So that is why, because these are Gentiles, Samaritans are different.

[28:59] But these are Gentiles. They are not supposed to be baptized with the Holy Ghost. They are not supposed to, we are not even supposed to eat with them. They are not supposed to be water baptized. They are not part of this federation.

[29:11] They are not part of this community. Why would Peter go and baptize them? So you should understand the reason why the Judaizers were having a go at Peter. Why do you go and eat with them?

[29:22] You shouldn't do that. Peter received a vision. He fell into a trance. And when he woke up from the trance, verse 19 of Acts chapter 10, Holy Ghost told him, three guys are waiting for you.

[29:33] Get out and go with them. Oh wow! He wouldn't have gone. The Holy Ghost said, go with them. He didn't even know. They were waiting for him downstairs. After that, when he was thinking, what's the meaning of this vision I'm having? He said, the Holy Ghost told him, three guys are waiting for you.

[29:46] He went with them without asking questions. When he got to Cornelius' house, they set him the foot and Cornelius told him everything. And he started preaching to them about Jesus. Whilst he was preaching, the Holy Ghost fell upon those who were listening.

[29:57] Look at verse 47, what Peter said. Acts chapter 10, verse 47. He says that, can anyone forbid water that they should be baptized? Who have received the Holy? Ah! So Peter said, if they have received the Holy Spirit, let's do the, let's give them the complete experience.

[30:14] If he had left it to Peter, he wouldn't have done it. But this time, God had to do it so quickly. Peter stepped aside. God had to put him aside and pour his spirit upon these people.

[30:26] And we said, wow! So in Acts chapter 11, verse 15, Peter says that, God told me to go. And whilst I was speaking, and as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, on us.

[30:36] Look at verse 16. They were saying, you should have resisted. I said, but who am I? And I remembered how Jesus said, you'll be baptized. So this is what has happened to the people. And look at the next verse.

[30:47] He said, who am I that I should, therefore if God gave them his spirit, who am I? That I should, God, God, no, no, I can't do that. And then look at what they said. When they heard this, they said, oh wow, when they heard these things, they became silent and they glorified God.

[31:02] Then God has granted the Gentiles repentance to life, life. Very interesting. So now what is the point I'm trying to make? Scripture separated conversion, conversion, and receiving of the Holy Spirit baptism.

[31:17] What is conversion? Conversion is repentance, believing, and being baptized. You are converted. Repentance, believing, and being baptized. But now the fourth one must happen. They receive the Holy Spirit.

[31:27] It's a one-go-chip, something I'm teaching. Because you hear people saying that, no, it's the same thing. You don't, there's no, the Holy Spirit baptism is when you are born again. It's the same one and the same thing. No! You saw in Scripture that there were two different instances or incidents, there are two different events or occurrences.

[31:46] It happened, born again, and then they were baptized. It happened, Samaria has received the word, but they are not yet to receive the Holy Spirit. Whoa! So they send them and for them to receive the Holy Spirit baptism.

[31:58] So, before Jesus left, now I'm coming back to my text, before Jesus left, he said to them, wait, now, there's another theological question.

[32:09] At what, watch this, where the people in the upper room, verse 13, they all went to the upper, I like the new King James, Bible says that, and when they had entered to Jerusalem, they entered into Jerusalem, they went up into the upper room where they were, I can't hear you, where they were, where they were, they are different from us, we come to church and go.

[32:33] They went and they were staying there, 120 people. They were staying there. That's where they were staying. Doing what? Waiting. That's what they were doing there. They were waiting.

[32:44] 120 people. They were in the upper room. Oh, I thank God for upper room experience. May God grant us an upper room experience one more time. They were in the upper room waiting, waiting. What are they waiting for?

[32:56] Huh? I was explaining this. What are they waiting for? Jesus said, wait. What did it, what were they supposed to wait for? The Holy Spirit, the promise. So, they were waiting.

[33:07] How long were they supposed to be waiting for? We don't know. How do you know when it has come? Because that's the first time it's about to come. The promise was Sabbath. How do you know when the promise comes? We don't know.

[33:18] They were waiting for what they did. They didn't know what was going to happen. How long they were waiting for? That is where visitation starts from. Not this kind of church life you have and you have boxed God into your timing.

[33:34] 21 days fasting, I've done it. That's it. No, sometimes I will tell you go further. Sunday is my church time. The rest of the day is my me time. Don't put God in a compartment.

[33:49] You won't get him. In Isaiah chapter 45, verse 15, God always will go and hide himself. Why? He wants you to look for him. He likes hide and seek. Yes.

[34:02] God keeps hiding himself. He's hiding himself and people should seek him. In Jeremiah chapter 11, verse 13, he said, if you seek me, you'll find me. If you search for me with all your heart.

[34:14] Ah! So he's actually, he wants us to seek him. Yes. Yes. Don't be there and say, if it's God, you'll anoint me if it's God. God never anoints people who are not looking for the oil.

[34:29] Seek! Seek means that there's a price to pay. If you can't wait for him, if you can't pay the price, you won't get him in the way the others are getting. The dimension to which God can use you, he can flow in your life, has a lot to do with the willingness to pay the price to wait.

[34:46] How long you are willing to wait? They were in a room and they never knew when, how long they were going to wait for. And they were there. Jesus said, wait. And they didn't even know what to expect. But there's one thing they had.

[34:59] Ah! They had been with Jesus. for 33 and a half years and 40 days. So they had been with Jesus. And they knew when he comes, they will know.

[35:10] Because Ecclesiastes, the Bible says that God has put eternity in their hearts. Chapter 3, verse 11. God, yeah, chapter 3, verse 11. He said, he has put eternity in the heart of everybody.

[35:23] Listen to this very carefully. Someone tells you I'm an atheist. It's just, it's not realistic. It's not being intellectual. Atheism is not an intellectual argument. It's a moral argument.

[35:35] It's an issue of morality. I just, I don't want to believe. You have to be taught and trained not to believe. When you go anywhere, so long as anthropology is concerned, study of human nature, the man, study of human beings, anywhere you find yourself, you find remotest part of the world, you see men are there, wherever men are.

[35:58] Even if you go to the moon, there are no human beings there. But if you go to the moon and you find human beings there, one of the things you find is they have some form of worship. Everywhere. They will have some form.

[36:09] Why? Because it's in it. It's inbuilt system. God will say, God has put eternity in their heart. In the book of John, chapter 1, verse 9, he said, he's the light that lighteneth everyone that come. When you are coming, something is lightened so that you know that there's God.

[36:23] But just that, you don't know where it is. But some of us, that's how you ended up being born again. You are doing everything in your life, but you feel like something is still missing. In spite of all the, I know, I know, I've read this, I've read that, I've read that, all this religion, I'm not religious.

[36:40] Yes, you are not religious, but you know there's something missing. You don't have to be religious. You need God. Because eternity is in your heart. And God has, can you imagine what God did?

[36:50] He came, when you were arriving on earth, he put eternity in your heart. That's the sense of God. And he went and hid. Now you have to look for him. And people are looking for him from different, people see cows, they say that's our God.

[37:05] Others say stone is our God. Others said elephant is our God. Others said a statue, they make a statue with a big belly. And they said that's our God.

[37:16] Some will make a statue with different, different arms. And that is our God. Please, don't condemn people. Because if people knew the true God, Paul said, the one you worship without knowing, him I declare to you.

[37:32] Because human beings will always worship. See, worship it. I was saying yesterday, please, United Kingdom, we shouldn't think a civilization makes us a God. Because you, don't, don't, we shouldn't suppose that we are more intelligent than other people in other parts of the world.

[37:50] God. No, that's a mistake. That's a exaggeration of opinion. In this country, we have top scientists who are Arabs.

[38:02] And they don't joke with their worship. Genuine science. I'm talking about, they are high-brainy people in Iran. Top scientists in Iran. But they worship. So, being academic doesn't, or being a worshiper doesn't mean you are stupid.

[38:18] You can wake up. Worshipping God, or believing in God doesn't mean you are stupid. And there are most silly people, or stupid people, or foolish people, who believe that they are smart because they don't believe in God.

[38:32] But they don't even have jobs. You, you don't have a job. You have not been able to pass GCSE. You, you don't have A-level mass.

[38:42] And a professor, a professor believes you're a professor. Several of them, not only one. They believe there is God. And you, think you are smarter than them. Excuse me. Ethism is not a sign of advancement in human brains.

[38:59] It's a sign of denial of something. Something authentic. Because Bible says in Romans chapter 1, verse 20, that the invisible attributes of God, from creation, that it says that for since creation of this, of the world, the invisible attributes, characteristics, permit me to use that.

[39:21] The sign, the, the, the, see, I was explaining that sometimes you go, you go somewhere and you know, hmm, someone is cooking, um, jack chicken here.

[39:33] Oh yeah, oh yeah, yeah, yeah, summer, summer. You know when you're hungry, the smell of that jack chicken, jack pork, my goodness.

[39:45] Oh, I love it. Sometimes you go into somewhere, you smell something and you, you know there's something here. You haven't seen it, but you know it's here. So it's the characteristics of jack pork being roasted.

[40:00] You know, barbecue, you can tell someone is doing barbecue in this area. Somewhere, I, I've not seen it, but I know, I know. How do you know I can smell it?

[40:11] How do you know I can smell it? In the same way, God has left signs, footprints, and fingerprints of himself in creation. So even if, if you want to think a little bit, you'll see it all around.

[40:24] Since the beginning of the world, the creation of the world, he's invisible, you can't see it, but the attributes are clearly, Bible says, they are unambiguously, clearly seen, being understood by the things that are created.

[40:38] Don't give Big Bang any credit. Can you disprove the existence of God through your son? You can't. How can you do to prove the existence of God?

[40:51] Your nose tells me God is your nose. For some strange reason, your nose doesn't keep moving and moving and moving and moving.

[41:07] So the attributes of God, and guess what? God has hidden himself. He wants people to seek him. Even when you become born again, you need to still seek him. Don't just be a religious person.

[41:19] I read my Bible. I don't steal. I don't lie. I don't do the Pharisee. I don't do this. I don't do this. I don't do this. God wants us to seek him.

[41:31] That's why you can never have revival without people seeking him. In Luke chapter 2, 25, Simon, he was in the temple. He was always praying.

[41:42] God showed. This is a prayer warrior. He was looking for something. God says that the hope of Israel you will see before you die. An 8-day-old baby boy was brought into the temple and this man, Bible said, revealed to him by the Holy Spirit.

[41:55] That is it. He knew that this is the constellation of Israel. How would you know? He paid the price to seek God and the Spirit of God showed him.

[42:07] There was an old lady called Anna. She was married for about 7 years or so and from that time she remained a virgin and, I'm sorry, she remained unmarried and she stayed in the temple, not go, stayed there.

[42:20] Maybe they bring her food and then, I don't know, but she stayed there praying, praying for the arrival of the Messiah. She was so, it was revealed to her when the Messiah arrived. You can, you don't want to pay any price.

[42:34] You want to live a comfortable life and experience the move of God in your life. It's a joke. It's a joke. If one or two people don't come together and pay a price to be praying for the move of God in our land, he won't move.

[42:53] God never moves on earth till some people invade heaven with prayer. So he told them, don't leave Jerusalem. You got to pay a price and see God.

[43:06] I'm getting concerned. Pay a price. Sometimes let some things go. Let certain opportunities go. It's not every financial opportunity jump at when it's at the expense of your seeking God, expense of your worship.

[43:18] not every financial opportunity. How desperate are you? God sometimes will give you a sign by providing for some basics. It's when we want more that sometimes we become.

[43:33] Sometimes Satan will take advantage of our greed. God. So, there are people who want to buy homes and because of that they compromise their call they know God has called them.

[43:45] I want to buy a house. I want to buy a house. I want to buy a house. I want to buy a house. And sometimes I want to get married. I want to get married. So they compromise their call.

[43:56] But Jesus said, wait before you go. Wait. I want you to go. But wait before you go. Wait. There's a time for waiting because they're there. Wait upon the Lord.

[44:08] He said, God says that he's the one who doesn't faint. He gives power to the weary. Oh my goodness. Jesus said, wait in Jerusalem.

[44:22] Wait until Luke chapter 24 verse 49. Your waiting is for a timing. Something must happen. Wait until you are endued with power.

[44:34] How about Shadahaya from on high? Wait. But as I was saying, they hang around Jesus and they're familiar. They know his spiritual smell.

[44:47] Sometimes when you walk with God a while, you will know when he shows up. Others might not know. But you can tell because you know you're sensitive. It's not an intellectual thing.

[44:57] It's, you know, you know, God has showed up. Something is changing here. Something is changing. I know. You know it's when God shows up. And so, they were waiting until Bible says suddenly, please, in Acts chapter 2 verse 2.

[45:15] Don't interpret the suddenly to mean it just, when the sudden waiting happened. No. The suddenly was after 10 days. It's a 10 days suddenly. So you know what? That fast track. It's not a fast track thing.

[45:26] I want it now. I want it now. Some of the things you are waiting for a while before it suddenly happens. Suddenly there came a sound from heaven. How did it happen?

[45:37] Because somebody paid the price to wait. And when they were waiting, we read from the text, we read. We saw it in the text. This, verse 14 of Acts chapter 1, these all continued.

[45:48] These all continued in one accord or in prayer. So that's what they were doing. That's what they were doing. They were not doing barbecue. They were not doing other things.

[46:01] Jesus showed himself to 500 people. Only 120 were remaining by the time he came. Over 500 people. Waiting! Someone say, wait! Wait! It pains to wait for God in every area.

[46:15] Don't rush your children into greatness. Wait! For God! Don't rush yourself into a marriage. I said, my marriage. You knew what you were doing.

[46:26] You put God aside and did your own thing. Now you have to bring him to come and sort it out for you. Else he's not God. If you are God, really? Really? Really? He spoke to you.

[46:39] You ghosted God. You heard him. Now that you are in trouble.

[46:53] Girl! Stop with whatever you are doing and come to me. Now! Now! Now! He will also be waiting. He will wait.

[47:05] He will wait because he knows you won't die. Oh, he has you covered. You won't die, but you have to go through this thing to learn it. Wait! Jesus said, don't go!

[47:15] Wait! Someone screamed, wait! Don't fight over a man in church with another woman. Let her do it and you wait for God.

[47:28] Wait for God. Wait! Trust God and wait! Let me end by letting you see something that happened in the book of Acts. When you look at the book of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

[47:44] Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John you hardly see too much said about the Holy Spirit. In Matthew chapter 1 verse 18, Mary was found to be with child of the Holy Spirit.

[47:57] And then you see the Holy Spirit showing up in chapter 3 when Jesus was being baptized. But you don't see too much of the Holy Spirit. The same in Luke, in Mark.

[48:08] You don't see apart from John the Baptist he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit. In John, he said the Holy Spirit will come. You don't see too much. He wasn't the subject. But Matthew right from the beginning, Mark right from the beginning, Luke right from the beginning, Jesus was the subject.

[48:25] Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, to the end. Jesus did this, Jesus did this. Every chapter is saturated with Jesus. Every now and then the Holy Spirit makes an appearance.

[48:38] And then in Acts chapter 1 they went and waited. when they went and waited. In Acts chapter 2, the Bible says the Holy Ghost came. Verse 4.

[48:50] It looks like from then almost every chapter, almost every chapter, Holy Ghost, Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit, Holy Ghost, Holy Spirit, the same thing, okay? The Spirit, Holy Spirit, Holy Ghost, the Spirit, Holy Spirit, Holy Ghost, to the extent that he covered what I'm talking about now, the book of Acts.

[49:08] I'm talking about physical book. All right. He even covered this time when he hadn't showed up in chapter 1. He came in chapter 2, but they were waiting from chapter 1.

[49:20] So when he came in chapter 2, they started, chapter 1 talks about, mentions the Holy Spirit, chapter 1 verse 2, mentions the Holy Spirit. Chapter 1 verse 5, Jesus said you'll be baptized with the Holy Spirit.

[49:31] Chapter 1 verse 8, you shall receive power after the Holy Spirit comes. Chapter 1 verse 16, it talks about how Peter said, the Holy Spirit spoke by the mouth of David. The Spirit. So you see, the Spirit has just started making an appearance.

[49:42] In chapter 2 verse 4, the Holy Ghost shows him. Chapter 2, when the Holy Ghost shows him, Peter begins to preach in chapter 2 verse 17. He says that, I'll pour up my Spirit. Ah, Spirit.

[49:53] I'll pour up, verse 18. He mentions the Spirit again. Verse 33, he mentions the Spirit again. Verse 38, he says that, and you shall receive the promise of the Spirit. Chapter 3, we didn't really mention the Spirit, but I know something that I can't live out.

[50:07] Chapter 3 verse 6, silver and gold have I none, but such as I have, give I thee, in the name of Jesus. Rise up and walk. I believe they were talking on the such as I have in the Spirit.

[50:18] Obviously, it's the Spirit, but I'm talking about the mentioning, actual mentioning of the Holy Spirit. In chapter 4 verse 8, Peter filled with the Holy Spirit. In chapter 4 verse 31, and when they had prayed, the place where they stood shook, and they were all, oh, come on, I feel like preaching.

[50:35] They were all filled with the Holy Spirit. In chapter 5 verse 3, Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit? Why are you lying? Verse 9, they mention the Spirit.

[50:46] It's all, verse 32, the Holy Spirit was giving witness of the resurrection with the apostles. Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit. chapter 6 verse 3, it says that select people who are full of the Spirit.

[51:00] Chapter 6 verse 5, they appointed Stephen, a man full of the Holy Spirit. It's everywhere. Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit.

[51:11] And there are a lot more in chapter 6, but let me jump to chapter 7. Chapter 7 was the summary of the Old Testament to the New Testament. Stephen was summarizing the entirety of the Old Testament in the New Testament, but he couldn't finish without the mention of the Holy Spirit.

[51:26] Chapter 7 verse 51, the Bible says, he told them, you stiff-necked people, you always resist the Holy Spirit. Verse 55, and Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit.

[51:42] Chapter 8, and when the apostles in Jerusalem had Samaria received the word, they sent Peter and John who when they came prayed that they might receive the Holy Spirit. Verse 15, verse 16, for Adalto, the Spirit has not been poured.

[51:55] Verse 18, the guy saw that the Holy Spirit was given by the laying on of hands. He offered money. Verse 29, and the Spirit told him, go and join the man in the chariot.

[52:07] Verse 39, and the Spirit lifted him and took him and sent him to a zone. I'm talking about the Spirit everywhere, almost every chapter.

[52:17] Chapter 9, Ananias goes to Paul and he said, Brother Saul, Jesus Christ who appeared to you has sent me that you might receive the Holy Ghost. Chapter 9, verse 31 and 32 particularly, he says that and the church was comforted by the Holy Spirit because Paul has converted.

[52:33] The Holy Spirit comforted the church and you come to chapter 10. Oh, the Spirit told Peter, go down verse 19. Acts chapter 10, verse 19. The Spirit told Peter, go down. Some guys are waiting for you and then when you went to Cornelius chapter 10, verse 38, how Jesus, how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and power.

[52:55] He made reference to the Holy Spirit in verse 44. What Peter has spoken? The Holy Spirit fell upon. In verse 45, when they circumcised believers, they saw that the Holy Spirit has been given.

[53:07] Verse 47, he said that they have received the Holy Spirit. Why don't you also baptize them? You can see the Holy Spirit everywhere. Everywhere.

[53:18] Everywhere. Chapter 11, Acts chapter 11, verse 15, verse 16. If this, the Holy Spirit came upon them. I was speaking. The Holy Spirit came upon them. Just as you.

[53:29] Chapter 12, I was trying to find out. I know I probably have to go and search again. I'll see the appearance. But I didn't mention the Holy Spirit. But I mentioned an angel came to the prison and removed Peter from prison.

[53:41] And Herod was still making noise. The angel hadn't yet gone. And the same angel who brought Peter out, Bible didn't say that, but I suppose, went and struck Herod and killed him. In the verse 28.

[53:52] So there was an angelic appearance. But you don't hear about angels very much. By Holy Spirit. And how about chapter 13? Chapter 13 talks about verse 2. As the minister fasted and prayed.

[54:04] The Holy Ghost said Hallelujah! Holy Ghost spoke as the minister in chapter 13 verse 4. And being sent by the Holy Spirit. It was the Holy Spirit who sent them.

[54:17] In chapter 13 verse 9. And Paul full of full of the Holy Ghost. Full of the Holy Ghost. And chapter 13 ends. There was great joy and the Holy Spirit was verse 52.

[54:30] Chapter 13 verse 52. And the disciples were filled with joy and the Holy Spirit. Everywhere. Everywhere. Suddenly, Pastor, what's the message?

[54:41] If you wait, the rest of your life gets filled with something you never recover from. They're waiting but it costs you something but you gain something for life.

[54:54] You gain something for life, bro. You gain something for life, sis. It pays to wait on God and seek God.

[55:05] Don't let any pastor do it for you. He doesn't have what it takes. No one can seek God for you. Don't let your mom do it. Don't let your dad do it. He can't.

[55:15] Don't let your mom do it. She can't. Your friends can't. Don't let your ex do it. He can't. Be filled with the Holy Spirit. If you are willing to pay the price, it takes some time to wait.

[55:31] So did that wait upon the Lord? Let me read my final scripture I read in Isaiah. It says that, Has thou not known, has thou not heard that the everlasting God, the Lord, the creator of the ends of the earth, doesn't faint.

[55:48] Neither is weary. There is no searching to other. He gives power to the faint. Listen, Jesus said in Acts chapter 1 verse 8, You shall receive after the evidence of power.

[55:58] When power comes, what shows that power has come? There are miracles, number one. Number two, the ability to persevere. Ability. Peter stood before the elders.

[56:10] He was not intimidated anymore. They were killing them. They were dying. Lions were eating them, but they were still singing praises. Singing praises in prison. In Acts chapter 6 verse 25, there's some praises in prison.

[56:22] That's what the Holy Ghost does. He gives you the ability to persevere. When others, when naturally you would have given up, you keep going because you have received power to continue.

[56:33] Oh, in Acts chapter 26 verse 21, having obtained therefore help from God. Acts 26, 22. Having therefore obtained help from God, I continue unto this day.

[56:45] That is what the Holy Ghost does. You can't serve God in your strength. You need the Holy Spirit. And when the Holy Spirit comes, you won't backslide.

[56:57] When the Holy Spirit comes, you won't go, Sir, may I, have you thought about this? Some of us, I say this with a sense of humility. I'm not saying to make myself look important, but please permit me.

[57:12] For the past 33 years, this is how I've been, I've been seeking God. The way I preach is not different from the way my wife would tell you.

[57:23] When she met me, I wasn't any different from this. Fire. How can you be on fire and hunger for Jesus all these years? It is the Holy Spirit. The power of the Holy Spirit gives you the ability to continue in the right direction.

[57:41] Because else, you know, some of us know yourselves. You know, you don't have sustaining power. You know, you are likely to give up. You are likely to go back. Even though you've been singing, I won't go back, I won't go back, I won't, but you know, you've even gone back a few times in three months.

[57:59] Even though you don't want to go back, that's where the religious people get you. Because religious people, they are only looking at your works, but not your heart.

[58:12] They are taking, you, you went back, red card. You, you want to go back, yellow card. You, that's religion. Religion is based on what you haven't done and what you have done. But the spirit is based on the condition of your heart.

[58:26] So today, if you hear his voice, don't harden your hearts. Don't harden your hearts. My message here is that it pays to wait for the Holy Spirit. Look, they waited and what we have never seen in scripture began to happen in their days.

[58:41] Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit. What were they waiting for? For the Holy Spirit. And when he came, he saturated them the rest of us. And then the epistles began to come up with revelation Jesus didn't teach in his earthly life.

[58:55] Because he said, I have a lot to tell you. But you cannot receive it. How be it? John chapter 16, verse 13. How be it? When the spirit of truth is come, he will guide you into all truth. So there are things in the epistles that Jesus wouldn't teach because they are not ready.

[59:08] But when the Holy Spirit came, the apostles started teaching those things. The Holy Spirit. We are looking for revival. We are believing God. Somebody got to pay a price. Listen. Wait!

[59:21] And do the church thing well. That's your way of waiting. This church thing, don't be fake. We will not see it. But your destiny, we shout it. Wait!

[59:38] Wait. When you pay the price to wait, it pays for the rest of your life. Did you receive something? Give Jesus praise!
