[0:00] Hallelujah! We thank God you have tuned in to this message by David and Tree at Carish Church. No hand can help you with the fulfillment of your destiny but the Word of God.
[0:11] May God hand a line with you further into your destiny through this Word. Acts chapter 2 verse 1 right down to 8. And when the day of Pentacles was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.
[0:26] And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind and filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them clothing tongues like as of fire and it sat upon each of them.
[0:45] And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. And there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men, out of every nation under heaven.
[1:03] Now when this was noised abroad, the multitude came together and were confounded because that every man heard them speak in their own tongue.
[1:15] And they were all amazed and marveled, saying one to another, Behold, are not all these which speak Galileans? And how hear we every man in our own tongue wherein we were born?
[1:32] Here ends the reading of God's holy word. Shall we please pray? Father of light, Father in heaven, we pray that as we hear your Word, you open up aspects of yourself that only you can grant us.
[1:50] As your Word is taught, grant us the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of you. That the eyes of our understanding may be enlightened that we will know the mysteries of the kingdom and of the gospel.
[2:09] We pray that as your Word is taught, let that sickness be cleared. For you said in your Word, he sent his Word and healed them of their diseases.
[2:21] Let this Word that is coming be a sent Word that will bring healing. Let it be a sent Word that will bring deliverance. Let it be a sent Word that will bring supernatural turnaround.
[2:33] Let it be a sent Word that will bring major testimonies. Let it be a sent Word that will bring glory to your name. We pray that as your Word is taught, let every hold of hell be broken and paralyzed in the name of Jesus.
[2:47] I curse that power of cancer I see around somebody's tummy. I curse that sickness to live by the authority of your Word. Because your name is above dominions.
[3:01] Your name is above positions. Your name is above power. And your name is above any authority. In your name we declare as your Word comes, let your name come to work in our midst by faith.
[3:15] We thank you in Jesus' name. Amen. Last week we spoke about the fact that the Holy Spirit could not have come at any other time except the day of Pentecost.
[3:35] And last week happened kind of coincidentally to be Pentecost Sunday. So, the Holy Ghost could not come on any other day but Pentecost.
[3:46] And I explain the significance of Pentecost. As I keep saying, how can you appreciate the New Testament without being familiar with the Old Testament?
[3:58] It's the Old Testament that we know about Pentecost. So, we go into the Old Testament to investigate what Pentecost shadowed. Anything in the Old Testament is not real.
[4:09] How many of you have eaten shadow beggar before? Shadow of a beggar. You can't eat shadow beggar. You can't hug a shadow family member.
[4:20] Right? So, it is shadow. From Colossians chapter 2 it says, there are shadows of things to come. But the substance is of Christ. So, once we are in Christ, some translation is the substance.
[4:34] This version says the body. Okay. New King James says the substance. The original version. The real thing is of Christ. So, for you to really understand what we enjoy in Christ, so long as some of these things that have their references in the Old Testament, it is also good to go into the Old Testament and understand how they were applied, they were used.
[5:00] Their significance in the Old Testament now tells us our reality in the New Testament. So, as I explained, the day of Pentecost was to celebrate the harvest, was also to commemorate the giving of the law, when God gave them the law.
[5:17] And I explained how man cannot really keep the law, but thanks to God that by the Holy Spirit. Romans chapter 8, it says, the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus, that's what actually makes us free.
[5:33] So, God gave us the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost to show that it is my spirit you need to be able to please me. And as well, the Pentecost signified the harvest, or the feast of weeks harvest.
[5:50] Christ is our enjoyment in our walk with God. We don't have Christ, you just have religion. When there is no Christ in your Christian approach, it's just religion you have.
[6:02] But Christ is our enjoyment. The blessing of Christ, it comes via the Holy Spirit. Now, I want to continue from there. So, going back to the text, when the day of Pentecost was fully come, now we know what the day of Pentecost meant, and then was fully come.
[6:21] Bible says that they were all with one accord in one place. Thank God for the message Pastor O spoke last Thursday, because discord will block effective move of the Holy Spirit amongst any people.
[6:41] Discord. In fact, having said that, this scripture just comes to mind. In Galatians chapter 5, verse 16, you see, verse 16 says, walk in the Spirit.
[6:54] So, it ties into the fact that the Holy Spirit is the one we need to be able to fulfill God's demands and desires, not just the law. So, it says, walk in the Spirit, and you will not fulfill the desires of the flesh.
[7:08] But look at verse 15. But ye bite and devour one another. Take heed that ye be not consumed by... See, when there's tension amongst us, it will spoil anything God can do.
[7:22] That's why in every church and any church, any church that can make any impact in the lives of people, in the society, and the nation, first and foremost, there must be a certain type of unity and oneness in the leadership.
[7:40] Anytime Satan enters your heart, you begin to feel some way and negative about leadership. Satan is not just you, first of all, you, because you'll always be a victim when he uses you.
[7:54] And then you, and then the entire move. The entire move of God can be pulled down, not from outside, but from inside.
[8:05] That is why no healthy church should take gossip lightly. No healthy church should take gossip for granted.
[8:16] So that implies a church cannot be watching out for gossip, but individuals, some of you, your mouth is disengaging you or dislodging you and separating you from your portion in the move.
[8:30] Your mouth. And not just your mouth, you'll pay for it, but it has the propensity of slowing the traction of what God is doing. So, every healthy church leadership must help people not to engage in gossip by constantly teaching them how to support, I think it was yesterday, yesterday, we read, said, the north wind.
[8:52] Yeah, in Proverbs. He said, the north wind. The word, the north wind, Proverbs chapter 25, in the 20s. Yeah, 23. Said, the north wind drives away rain.
[9:04] So does the angry countenance, a backbiting tongue. It's your responsibility to fight against gossip. You as an individual in a church. Some people, they come like the devil.
[9:18] Has God really said they are coming to start? They don't start negative. They start making references to what is already going on. What we are all enjoying.
[9:29] So they start, did God, you know, maybe. And they only amended it slightly. They don't have to amend it significantly. Most people in churches have lost their position in, especially church leadership, have lost their position in the blessing and the flow of God on the move because they entertain satanic tongue.
[9:53] And, do we always have to fast in June? No, we will fight in June. I mean, normally when they say we should fast, I just make sure I have my tea.
[10:07] No, I don't know. Why don't you keep it to yourself? Why are you spreading that negative motivation? Some people were healthy until they hurt someone.
[10:19] You were doing well in the ashes. You were doing well as a leader. In fact, you had good traction because you can tell you had favor with senior, senior most leaders.
[10:32] You had, and you were doing well until you entertained some conversations. And sometimes the people who talk to you, when they are very dangerous, they know how to still look good and still stay in the flow and you have been disengaged and now you are slow.
[10:49] You can't even shout. You can't even jump. You can't clap. You can't sing. But they are shouting and singing. When a person is traveling, they are there. But where you wanted to go, they tell you, you have to travel.
[11:01] But they will still go. And you see them in high places and you are still stuck. And potentially, the more you build resentment, the lower you go. Unless God is not in the system.
[11:11] If God is in the system, it will not be a perfect system. But what betize you if you focus on the weaknesses of the system? You will be a victim. You will be a victim.
[11:24] You will be a victim. I'm talking about not that God will punish you, but when you talk about the benefits of the move of God, you will be denied. Prosperity, breakthrough, children breaking through, children doing well, marriages doing well, health, protection, and security.
[11:38] Some of these things, they come with the move of God. It's blessings that accompany the move of God. Sometimes, your financial coma after being active in a church may reflect, not just lack of giving of tithes and actually giving sins, but it might also reflect a certain attitude and posture in your heart that has killed you so when the blessing is coming, it just flows aside.
[12:03] It doesn't come on you. I'm talking about something very important. Musicians, be careful who you call your friend. It's not everybody who qualifies to be your friend because some people start out well.
[12:20] Good character is not a permanent possession. Listen, when you're working with God, you don't always have to depend on discernment because you won't always be discerning everything.
[12:37] Everybody will say, the Holy Spirit will just show me. You don't always get to discern, but there's something that God will give you that is more reliable as, in fact, much more effective than just discernment because you can discern and discern wrongly or discern amiss or discern in mixture.
[12:57] You are seeing something right, but your personal interpretation has given it a wrong approach by wisdom. Wisdom. So, if you're working with God, one of the things that God will bless you with is wisdom.
[13:13] Wisdom help you to make decisions without even hearing the Holy Ghost say here or left. Wisdom. The Bible says it's profitable to direct. I'm talking about the wisdom that comes from above.
[13:23] Sometimes you can tell that you are being childish, bro. You are being childish. Wisdom will tell you this is not important. Let me get over it and focus on what is important because I can see a move of God in this.
[13:38] See, when your heart is right, you are able to recover aright. Because nobody is perfect. All of us. Sometimes. We can miss it at some point. Sometimes you can miss it for a whole year.
[13:51] Yeah. Look at your marriage as a test case. Sometimes you can miss it for one week, two weeks. Depending on your maturity and your level of wisdom, you can dwell on something that is not essential in your marriage.
[14:05] You dwell on it for a whole year. Sometimes two years. Sometimes ten years. So you realize that why have I allowed myself to be like this? God, this is not necessary. So sometimes we all fall apart.
[14:17] When your heart is genuine for God, you will always recover. You will always recover depending on how willing you are to obey when God prompts. I don't know who I'm talking to.
[14:30] Because you can miss your placement in every great move of God. Watch this. Check statistics. Whenever there's a great move of God, there are people who are always part of the beginning, but they are never part of the actual glory.
[14:43] Always like that. It's always been like that. But my prayer is that God will give us grace, wisdom, and humility not to be agents of gossip or not to be victims of gossip.
[15:00] Victims of things that are not necessary for your hearing. Victim. You are hearing things and somebody's husband is at lounge, whatever lounge.
[15:11] What has that got you? Are you married? Don't be thinking about your own. You have to think. Be smart. Because you are everybody must have this north wind approach.
[15:26] They are beginning to gossip. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. He who has an ear, let him hear. I hope you are listening to me. Let him hear.
[15:36] I speak as a pastor and I speak as a prophet with an apostolic audacity. It is no point to start with genuinely good-hearted people.
[15:52] See, good heart is not enough. Good heart is not enough. Compare the matters. You can have a good heart, but John the Baptist has a very good heart.
[16:04] But he says, blessed is he who is not offended in me. Let's move on. This is no part, but I think it's for the body of Christ. For the body of Christ.
[16:15] Because I've discovered God will still do it. God will still do it. You can look at Moses and you're wondering, Moses, Moses, like Aaron and Miriam. Moses, Moses, Moses.
[16:27] God said, this is the one I've chosen. You heard that? See how you can help him. Help Moses. Instead of talking. Moses is like this.
[16:38] Moses doesn't circumcise his children too late. It's true. But listen, God doesn't really care about that one. As long as Moses is doing what God has called him to do.
[16:50] In every church, there are the naysayers. There are the naysayers. And I realize that it always comes into leadership. There are always one. There will always be one.
[17:01] Jesus said, did I not choose 12 of you? Yet one of you is the devil. It's everywhere. Cursed across everywhere. There will always be one. Everybody is very quiet. People are listening to me. Very good.
[17:13] Yeah. As I was praying the other time, this scripture jumped to me. Have I not chosen 12? Yet one of you.
[17:25] One of you. So, there will always be one who will be the weakest link. You have to determine your association and maintaining what is important so that you don't become a one of you.
[17:39] As for the work and as for the redemption program of God, it will not stop. But Judas had a portion. Bible says he had a part in this ministry.
[17:52] Is it possible? Listen, this is a very strong word. I don't think it has to do with us. Is it possible you are sitting on the front seat but heaven has removed your portion in the ministry because of your heart and your comments?
[18:09] Your comments. And nobody has to do anything about it. It's just time. Time. It might not be radical but time will expose who has not been preferred by God for a long time.
[18:23] Gossip. Since I go born again. Gossip has not been part of Christian life. Then you start church, you are part of church life after you realize that people are shouting hallelujah but they have this unique gift of gossip.
[18:40] I don't understand. I don't understand. We all have the propensity to say things but when you have become a common factor in always saying things that are affecting people, affecting people, that's the sign of the devil.
[18:58] Wisdom is profitable to direct. Why do you keep seeing the trend? And you still stay that you not being diserned.
[19:11] So he said they were all together with one accord. Matthias was chosen. Barnabas was not chosen but it didn't affect the one accordness.
[19:22] one accord. Why? Because the one accordness was necessary. They had to maintain it to go to their pentacles because the church is about to really be born.
[19:35] So they needed the one accordness for the move of God. Listen, if you are in a church and you are always cynical, critical about leadership and you are kind of part of leadership, you are better of excusing yourself because you may end up being grinded.
[19:57] If God is in it, you will be part of the thing that, you see, when machines are grinding things, don't put your hand there. It might think it's part of the thing that is supposed to grind. I'm talking to somebody listening to me.
[20:11] When you are part of a leadership and you believe that, I don't believe in this leadership and you become always cynical and critical, you are saved by excluding yourself.
[20:23] It will not affect, if God is in it, it will not affect the move. Depending on the position, the move might move a bit, but within a short time, the move will get better and gain more traction because a weight has been taken off.
[20:40] Wow. People are very quiet. This is an apostolic message. usually, more than the Christians want to say, I got to bless you.
[20:53] I am a sign to protect and build the work and the move of God at my expense, at anybody's expense.
[21:04] We will build it. Hallelujah. So when I go to churches, this is my message. Christ and then healthy church. Isn't it pastor? Healthy, we need a healthy church.
[21:16] church. A healthy church can easily encounter or enjoy a smooth move of the Holy Spirit. And I see that's what is happening to us in the name of Jesus.
[21:29] So when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all together in one accord in one place. One place. One place. Don't exempt yourself from the one place. One place.
[21:41] And guess what? Bible said, when those conditions were fulfilled, there was a suddenly. And suddenly, somebody shout suddenly.
[21:53] Oh, I can't hear you. The way you are shouting, that's how your testimony is about to show up. Shout it the way you expect your testimony to show up. Shout suddenly.
[22:06] Suddenly. Suddenly. The Bible said they were together. They didn't know what to expect because Jesus didn't tell them exactly how it's going to be. They were just there. And they knew when he come, they would know he would come.
[22:18] So they were there in one accord. And they were praying and studying. And the things they were doing, I told you. And Bible says, suddenly, there came a sound.
[22:32] From where? From heaven. This was not normal. They heard something. on the day of Pentecost. I'm talking about the Pentecost experience.
[22:45] It will start, when the conditions are right, it will start with what you are able to hear. What you are able to hear, when it's God who calls you to hear.
[22:57] Because in the realm of the spirit, hearing precedes seeing. In the realm of the spirit, your hearing will determine the quality of your seeing.
[23:10] in Revelation chapter 1, verse 10, he said, I was in the spirit on the Lord's day. And, he says that, and I heard a great voice as of a trumpet.
[23:24] When God is talking, you will miss his voice. He has a way, his voice sounds like, his voice will not sound very soft. In your spirit, you will hear that this thing, God is talking to me.
[23:38] not the trumpet. On the day of the Lord. When? On the Lord's day, I heard a voice like a trumpet.
[23:53] You have to be in the spirit. You have to be in the spirit to hear some stuff. Amen? You got to be in the spirit. You got to be in the spirit, boy. If it's a girl, say, girl. You got to be in the spirit. You got to be in the spirit.
[24:05] You've got to be in the spirit. What is costing you is your carnality. Costing you ability to hear. Defining everything by human feelings.
[24:19] And human opinion. Jesus said, you are an offense to me. Matthew chapter 16 verse 23. For you do not mind, mind, mind the things that are of God.
[24:33] Get behind me, Satan. Thou art offense to me for thou severeth none. Give us the excuse, please. Thou art not mindful of the things of God.
[24:45] By what? The things that are made. How people feel. How someone thought. How, see, that's how everybody, you are more conscious about how people see you.
[24:57] How you feel around people. More conscious about how people interpret what you say. Or what somebody said. Then what God is saying and what God is doing.
[25:09] Jesus said, you are an offense. So you see, you can be mindful. You are minding the good things. It's not like bad things. Good things. But this is mindful of the things that are of man. Any fallen person can think the way you are thinking.
[25:21] You see what I'm saying? Any unregenerate can think the way you are thinking. But it takes a certain level of spirituality to think outside of what the normal man would think.
[25:32] Especially when it comes to the things of God. Who would think that a Messiah should go and die? Peter didn't do anything wrong. He said, Jesus, you can't die. You are the Messiah. You can't die.
[25:43] He said, you are an offense to me. Because the way you are thinking has made you miss the purpose of God. You've missed it. Thinking. In Romans chapter 8, verse 6 and 7.
[25:56] That's kind of scary. He says that to be carnally minded is death. But to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Life and peace. I think this is the best marriage counseling quotation.
[26:13] If I remain spiritually minded, I will not need marriage counseling. I will struggle to forgive my wife. Even though maybe naturally I might feel so offended.
[26:26] And if I'm spiritually minded, it's okay. Let me stay on the side of God. We only sing who is on the Lord's side. But most of that don't stay. Most of that we don't stay on God's side.
[26:42] We sing on God's side. To be spiritually minded. He said, to be carnally minded. The way naturally people are thinking.
[26:53] Girl, you are dying out of God's relevance. Look at the next verse. Verse 7. Because the problem is that the carnal mind is just enmity against God.
[27:05] That's why Jesus said you are an offense to me. The carnal minded. Thinking no more. Everywhere everybody thinks. But you are at the forefront or in the midst of the move of God.
[27:16] We got to be even me. Everybody. Everybody. I got to be careful how I think. I have to be careful how I think. Else I will be an offense to God in this move. Is someone getting what I'm saying?
[27:28] So, he says that to be, the scripture says that to be carnally minded. Now, for us to secure our minds, we need to be spiritual. Spirituality is not antics.
[27:43] Some people in church look spiritual. But their wives know you are the most carnally person I've ever seen. Or your husband will be thinking that. My God.
[27:54] Did I marry a Christian at all? But in church. Oh. So, most people think that is spirituality. Is not any sign of spirituality.
[28:07] Shouting is not any sign of spirituality. Dancing is not a sign of spirituality. Neither does singing. Neither does singing.
[28:17] Because choir is test. In fact, there are some very good singers. Who are very good carnal people. I mean, like, good at being carnal. Oh, yes. Oh, yes.
[28:30] Singers, carnal. Preachers, carnal. It doesn't matter. You can be a bishop and very carnal. Because his carnality is just naturality.
[28:43] When you live according to your nature, you are operating on the highway of carnality. You just sleep and do things. Not sin. You don't have to sin to be carnal.
[28:55] Did you understand what I'm saying? You don't have to steal to be carnal. You don't have to lie. But there's no sin that hasn't got a layer of carnality. But you don't have to sin to be carnal.
[29:07] For instance, let's say I'm with my wife and I'm asking her, when you're coming from the kitchen, can you fetch me some water? And then she coughed. Then carnally I think, you see, anytime I tell her something, she's coughing.
[29:23] It's not a sin, no. It's not a sin. But why did I even give a spin to what she did? Sometimes, maybe it might carry some level of truth, but spiritually I would say, no, but that's not founded.
[29:36] So why do I allow myself to? I'd rather recover myself from that natural trajectory. Did you understand that? I recover myself because I'm too spiritual to allow something that's basic to just lead me astray.
[29:48] So it takes spirituality to catch yourself. Say, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. You are going too far. Catch yourself, arise yourself, and bring yourself under the subjection of scriptural dictates.
[30:00] That's why we're going to talk about someone being spiritual. It's not how many quotations they can quote. But it's good to quote, please. We have given credit to spirituality being what much of it is actually not.
[30:19] So I was in the spirit of the Lord's day, and I heard, I heard behind me, you see, to see, you need to change your line of sight to see some things.
[30:39] Because now I can't see what's behind me. Why? Because of my line of sight. If I want to see, I have to change. By hearing, hearing, or you have to be at a certain position in the spirit.
[30:50] So in the spirit, hearing precedes seeing. And it says that he who has an ear, let him hear what the spirit says to the church. He who has an ear, let him hear what the spirit says.
[31:02] When you are able to hear, it will help you with your spiritual sight. So he said in the text, suddenly there came a sound. They heard before they saw clothing, tongues of fire.
[31:17] They heard a sound. Bible says that suddenly there came a sound from heaven. That's a very interesting phrase. I like the from heaven aspect. It's so sweet to have interactions from heaven.
[31:32] Signals from heaven. And when they come from heaven, sometimes its feel is different. Its impact is different. Its depth is different. So I heard a sound. You see, as I'm speaking, my prayer is that you hear a sound from heaven.
[31:47] You hear a sound from heaven. He said on the day, suddenly they heard a sound from heaven and they described the sound. It wasn't what they felt. For many years in church, I've always felt like there was the wind that was moving.
[32:03] There was no wind. Nothing. There was no wind. No wind moved. It's just a sound that came. And the sound is like, somebody might put it this way, it's like a sound effect.
[32:17] You know something? You can have a sound effect. When I was doing my music album in the studio, there's a way they can give you a sound. Four people are singing, but it looks like a masquad.
[32:30] There's no masquad. And then sometimes they can give the effect of clapping, you know. Someone shout or clap for Jesus, and then people clap. Most of them are clapping. Sometimes you hear, if it's not live music, it's just sound effect.
[32:43] So there are effects. Now, this one felt like an effect, but it's an actually, because it's not a computer generated effect or digital effect, but this one is actually, it's something came from heaven.
[32:57] A sound, because you got to hear the Pentecost experience. Starts with what you are hearing. Suddenly there came a sound from heaven, and the Bible says that, the sound is as of a rushing, mighty wind.
[33:16] Somebody say wind. Wind. Say wind. Wind. So the sound they heard was like a wind. In the Greek, usually the word translated wind, sometimes even storm, but usually wind, breath, and spirit is the same.
[33:35] So sometimes the Bible will use pneuma. Okay. So there's a pneuma. There's a sound from heaven like a pneuma. It's like a wind.
[33:46] Okay. Now the Hebrew, the word translated wind, breath, and spirit is also the same. Much more in the Hebrew. It's ruach.
[33:57] But there are two Hebrew words translated as wind or breath. The first one is neshma.
[34:08] Now the one sitting next to you is neshma. It's breathing. But you don't hear it. How about if the person sneezes? Then you say what?
[34:19] Bless you. Why is it that I'm breathing? I was not saying bless you. But when a person sneezes, it comes with force.
[34:31] Now, the other Hebrew word translated as breath is ruach. That is the one that carries force. And on the day of Pentacles, they didn't see, what they heard was like the arrival of a tornado.
[34:47] Hallelujah. It filled the house. It was the breath of God. The breath of God. Genesis chapter 2 verse 7. The Bible said, and God formed man. He was just a dust.
[34:58] The Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils. Before then, he was just ordinary until the breath of God hit his nostrils. Jesus Christ has resurrected from the dead.
[35:10] The people were not believers. They are Christians or believers. They had the life of God, but they are not ready to live as a church. For the church life, the ruach had to come.
[35:20] And so there came a sound from heaven. In Ezekiel chapter 1 verse 4, the Bible talks about a wind. A wind came. Ezekiel chapter 1 verse 4.
[35:31] It says that, and I looked and behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire infolding itself. And a brightness was about it.
[35:44] And out of the mist of the color of amber, out of the mist of the fire. Now, he was talking, he was describing when he had encounters with God. It was like a wind in the Old Testament.
[35:56] There were instances where you saw the move of God like a wind. Anytime the Bible uses wind to signify the move of God, it's either bringing the judgment of God or bringing an encounter, a fresh encounter to lift people in God.
[36:10] And that's what we saw in the day of Pentecost. And I believe that Pentecost experience is about to repeat itself. Because Pentecost was not once and for all. The day.
[36:20] When I say Pentecost now, I don't mean the Pentecost of the Old Testament. But I mean the day the Holy Spirit came. It wasn't once and for all. In the book of Acts, it was four times we saw Pentecost happening.
[36:31] In other words, the Spirit of God coming on a group of people. Not just an individual, but a group of people. In Samaria, when Peter and John came, the Bible says that they came to preach in Acts chapter 8 from verse 15, 14, when they heard that Samaria has received the word, they sent Peter and John who when they came and prayed that they might receive the Holy Spirit.
[36:51] And the Holy Ghost came and laid down. That was the second Pentecost experience and it happened in Samaria. Jesus said, you shall be witnesses of me in Jerusalem. First one in Jerusalem. And then he said, in Judea and in Samaria.
[37:03] Second one, the second Pentecost happened in Samaria. The third Pentecost in the book of Acts chapter 10 in the house of Cornelius. While Peter here speaks this way, verse 44, the Holy Ghost fell.
[37:16] It was a mass falling on a lot of people at the same time. That's called the Pentecost experience. And in, so that is to the Gentiles and then to the uttermost parts of the world, Acts chapter 19, Paul found some disciples.
[37:29] Have you received the Holy Ghost? They said no. They didn't know. And then he said, what did they receive? And then verse 6 says that when he had laid hands on them, the Holy Ghost came up at one, the Lady Sons of them, that was the fourth Pentecost.
[37:42] So there were four Pentecost experience in the book of Acts. That means Pentecost was not just one of, but all the other Pentecost, you didn't see a wind or a sound from heaven.
[37:54] Bible didn't mention a sound from heaven. Bible didn't talk about how fire sat on their heads. No. What happened on that day of Pentecost in Acts chapter 2 was very unique and exclusive.
[38:06] It wasn't meant to be repeated. But the Pentecost experience itself was repeatable. That's why we are here. I see a Pentecost experience coming on us. Now quickly, let me try to round up now.
[38:18] So the Bible says that suddenly there came a sound from heaven as a rushing mighty wind and it filled the house where they were sitting. So this tells me they were in a house.
[38:30] Now theologians have deliberated on this. upper room but they returned to the temple and when you look at the text very carefully, people guarded. People cannot come in the house.
[38:41] So many people cannot gather into a house. Particularly living already at 120. How many people were going to come? Maybe Peter went out. So some theologians believe this word house there was representing or meant the temple of God, the house of God.
[38:55] but whatever it is, the Bible says that the sound filled all the house. So it doesn't matter where you were in the house, the sound was filling the place.
[39:09] The sound was filling the place everywhere. The sound filled and yet nothing was moving. So you hear the blowing of a wind like a tornado and yet the hair were not flying off.
[39:24] clothes were not moving. Cattails were not moving and yet you could hear that's a supernatural act. They could hear the sound but one thing, I believe that it will remind them of what Jesus is when he resurrected from the dead because in John chapter 20, Bible 22, he breathed on them.
[39:44] So I think that was kind of rehearsal. They had the feeling when the Holy Ghost has come, it comes with a breath, a breath-like, you know, a ruach-like feeling. He breathed on them.
[39:56] So on the dear tentacles, when they heard the sound like rock, the rock-like sound, they remembered, ah, this is what Jesus our Lord did. No, the Spirit is coming.
[40:06] The Spirit is coming and guess what, they would be so excited and the Spirit filled where they were sitting and that's one thing that happened. They heard and then number two, Bible said they were, oh, look at the next verse three.
[40:18] Bible says that and there appeared clothing tongues onto them, clothing tongues like as of fire and sat on each of them. So Peter looked at John and he said, oh, John, there's something on your head.
[40:32] John said, oh, there's something on your head and Peter could see everyone, all the 120 people. There was fire. Fire that will not burn. Fire sat on, not the building, but each of them.
[40:44] Why fire? When you study the Old Testament very carefully, you will see every now and then God was presented as fire. Remember Moses?
[40:57] The fire that will not burn your hair. It doesn't burn the bush. The bush was not consumed. In the book of Exodus chapter three, Moses saw the fire.
[41:07] It was burning and they went closer to see this phenomenon. What he saw was amazing. So he got his attention. He went and then God said, Moses, take off your sandals because where you are standing is the holy ground.
[41:21] So God spoke from the bush. It was the presence of God was like fire. And guess what? When you study the scriptures very carefully, all throughout the wilderness, God was leading them as fire.
[41:33] So he was like a pillar of fire. Remember Elijah's fire? Elijah called in 1 Kings chapter 18. He called down fire from heaven and God responded with his fire.
[41:44] In Deuteronomy chapter four, verse 24, it talks about how God, let's look at that. Deuteronomy chapter four, let's read that out loud for the screen. Let's go please. For the Lord, my God's will see you.
[41:56] I can't hear you. For the Lord, my God's will see you. Let's say it out loud for the last time. For the Lord, my God's will see you. Really? And a jealous God. Our God is a consuming fire.
[42:09] Hallelujah. Hallelujah. He's a consuming fire. In Deuteronomy chapter nine, verse three, it tells us still that God is fire. As a consuming fire, he will destroy them.
[42:21] God is fire. He's a consuming fire. Exodus chapter 24, verse 17, and the sight of the glory of the Lord was like devouring fire.
[42:34] God is a consuming fire. So as you walk with him, any demonic thing in your life that needs to be burnt out, I see the fire of God burning out.
[42:46] In Hebrews chapter 12, verse 29, it says God is a consuming fire. Let's all say, my God is a consuming fire. My God is a consuming fire. But what's the significance of fire?
[42:58] Let me mention three and then we can end on that. Number one, fire signifies the light. You know, before electricity was discovered or invented, the main form of light outside of the sun was to light fire.
[43:21] So candles still is fire by gifts light. Many years ago, I traveled into, I lived in a village for a couple of weeks and there's no electricity there and we used to use fire and we had this lantern.
[43:38] You just turn on the fire and the wick, yeah, the wick in it, you turn it on and then it takes you, and when you watch all some of those old movies, when they enter in the tunnel, they are carrying the Olympic torch.
[43:50] That's where you got, it's just fire to see. So fire gives light and God is the one who can give us the light of life. In fact, the Bible says in John chapter 1, verse 9, that Jesus is the light, that lightens everyone that comes into the world.
[44:06] So one, when we say God is fire, means that he is the source of light. Number two, the Bible talking about God being fire means illumination.
[44:17] I will explain that. You know, when we talk about illumination, not just brightening something, but something becoming real or becoming, or let me say, heightened awareness.
[44:30] an awareness of something, of what is real, the truth. So when we talk about light, if the Bible says that a man lights fire, a woman, the kingdom of God is like a woman who besleece something and lit fire to search.
[44:45] I think in the book of Matthew or so, yeah, she had to light the fire to search for something. So fire helps you to discover the truth. It is only God, in God, who will find the truth of life.
[44:59] The truth about life, the truth about marriage. It is that, either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she loses one, does not light a candle and sweep the house to seek it.
[45:10] So the candle will provide the light that will make her find what she's looking for. The light of life is in God. Real, genuine, if you want to really enjoy life, you got to do it in God.
[45:25] You want to enjoy marriage, find out what God has said about marriage. If you want to enjoy good relationships, find out what God has said about relationships.
[45:36] If you want to enjoy good family life, there are big things about life. God's word points as to how to access it. Any important thing about life is accessible to the one who will find the truth in God's word.
[45:49] Bishop Oedipo puts it this way. He said that any form of struggle is an indication that light of some sort is missing. Every form of struggle in anybody's life is a reflection that light of some sort is missing.
[46:08] In other words, illumination and insight. We thrive. He said, I went up by revelation. We thrive in life based on what you know. Many people are losing a lot of money or losing opportunities simply because of what they didn't know.
[46:23] but I pray that may the light of God give you the truth to be able to soar in life and every aspect of life in Jesus' name. And then finally, light brings warmth.
[46:36] Warmth. Warmth. Fire brings warmth, sorry. Fire brings warmth. When you light fire, you know, fireplace, it just brings warmth.
[46:47] What's the importance of warmth here? God doesn't like people to be cold. God can use you on a consistent basis, on a regular basis when you are cold.
[46:58] He said, I prefer you be hot or cold. But since you are tepid or you are lukewarm, he said, I will spew you out. He said, I don't want this in my mouth.
[47:10] He wants us hot. So, hot or cold. So, when we talk about fire, fire brings warmth. On the day of Pentacles, what sat on their head, let some passion in them.
[47:23] When there is passion, one of the things I've discovered by experience is that if you want young people to serve God well, the one thing they want to see, number one, is authenticity.
[47:39] Young people will not follow what is not authentic. So, if I am a preacher and I'm preaching what has not really captured my heart, I will not win many young people.
[47:52] Young people want to see, first of all, authenticity. And number two, young people are attracted to what has vain, what has passion, what has, you know, light in it, fire in it.
[48:05] When you have fire, you attract a lot, not only young people, even old people like it. I like that. I like that. I like that. because Bible says that be fervent in spirit.
[48:19] Serving the Lord, Romans chapter 12, verse 11. Be fervent in spirit, serving the Lord. Be fervent in spirit. So, passion is necessary for setting attainment in God.
[48:35] Lukewarmness will not take anybody anywhere. even when it comes to romance. Hello? You don't want a boring, a very boring, dark, romantic partner.
[48:53] Have you noticed that there are some movies where you watch and you don't sleep? Whilst other things do you watch and you sleep? Passion.
[49:04] Somebody say passion. Passion. Christianity without passion will not be effective. So, for the Holy Spirit to be able to use us, he sends his fire upon us because he wants us to be passionate.
[49:20] When you are singing, let there be passion. When you are serving, let there be passion. There must be, you must be, okay, let me put it this way. Sometimes, when you are young, passion will express itself in a lot of activity.
[49:35] But the older you are, the calmer you are. But it doesn't mean when you are old, you don't have passion. You can be passionate. The passion is reflective in the intensity of your delivery or your behavior.
[49:48] Not the energy per se, but there's this intense, something, we can even see, you can see passion in people's faces. When they talk to you, you can tell them, hey, this person is serious.
[50:00] They can be, but you say something or they say something and brings them alive. Or it changes the expression of their face. Passion. God wants us to be passionate.
[50:13] So when you talk about the Pentecost experience, besides what you hear and what you see, we need passion. That's why it sends fire on us.
[50:24] Some of us, I believe you agree that the way your prayer life is. How many of us have attempted to pray before and you look like a prey?
[50:39] Oh, none of you. Wow. How many of you have been very sad about attempting to do something and it's like, you really wanted to wake up and pray?
[50:53] This year, you started a year and you promised God there's no day I won't read my Bible. In fact, it looks like the year that you've not read your Bible most.
[51:08] Passion. Passion. So, number one, the fire stands for light. Two, fire stands for the truth or illumination. Three, fire stands for warmth, which is passion.
[51:22] you cannot enjoy God, serve God to any dimension without these three things in your life. I pray that this Pentacles experience will become our own experience and God will take us from grace to grace, from glory to glory in Jesus' mighty name.
