[0:00] Thank you for tuning into this message by David Entry. Every true revival is a product of the strong preaching of God's Word. May you receive a word from this message that will spark a revival in you.

[0:13] Acts chapter 2, verse 14 to 24. But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice and said unto them, Ye men of Judea and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, Be this known unto you, and harking to my wish.

[0:29] For these are not drunken as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day. But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel.

[0:40] And it shall come to pass in the last days, says the Lord. I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream, dreams.

[0:57] And on my servants and on my handmaidens, I will pour out in those days of my Spirit, and they shall prophesy. And I will show wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath, blood and fire and vapor of smoke.

[1:17] The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and the notable day of the Lord come. And it shall come to pass that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

[1:33] Ye men of Israel, hear these words. Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God amongst you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know.

[1:49] Him being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken and by wicked hands have crucified and slain.

[2:00] Who God has raised up, having loosed the pains of death, because it was not possible that he should be beholden of it. Here ends the reading of God's holy word.

[2:11] Shall we please pray? Father, we pray that as we have gathered around your word into fellowship, we pray that reveal yourself in the pages of scripture to us, in a way that man cannot teach.

[2:26] Reveal yourself in a way that only you can do. Holy Spirit, I submit my faculties under your influence, that as your word is taught, let illumination be granted.

[2:36] Let revelation come. Let miracles, signs and wonders, let there be supernatural manifestations of your power as your word is delivered.

[2:49] This is the word of grace. As we teach the word of grace, let grace be dispensed. Let grace that builds us up and gives us an inheritance among the saints be released from above.

[3:04] Amen. We thank you. In Jesus' name. Amen. Amen. Hallelujah. Amen. Praise the Lord.

[3:15] So, we have seen how on the day of Pentecost, a few things happened. First of what happened on the day of Pentecost, so long as what happened to the apostles who had gathered, first of the day, they had an experience, an unforgettable experience, due to what happened, what came from above, an unforgettable experience.

[3:44] And then, number two, the experience brought an excitement. Excitement. There was fire on their heads, and these guys were just praising God.

[4:01] Excitement. And then, after the excitement that came because of the experience, Peter stood up to give an explanation. So, there was an experience, there was an excitement, and there was an explanation to what was happening.

[4:17] So, Peter explained that these are not drunk, as you suppose. And then, he went on to tell them that this, so he takes them straight to Scripture. And he quotes from Joel chapter 2, verse 20.

[4:30] He said, this is what which was spoken by Joel, that it shall come to pass in the last days, says the Lord, that I'll pour out my spirit upon all flesh. And I explained last week that the last days started with the arrival of Jesus.

[4:43] So, Peter told them that we are in the beginning of the last days. That's why these things are happening. And he told them that from Scripture, the last days, there are some things that were going to happen.

[4:58] All hasn't happened yet, but beginning with the pouring of the Spirit. The time is coming, the sun is going to turn into darkness, the moon will turn into blood. There will be vapor of smoke.

[5:09] It's going to be very scary. For those of us who have seen horror movies before, this is going to be more horrific. And there will be shivers in people's lives.

[5:20] People will be scared. And everybody, can you imagine one day we wake up, the sun has just gone black. It's not just black. It's turned into darkness. The sun is now producing darkness.

[5:34] I mean, that is, it turned into darkness, and the moon, you see in the darkness, you see moon that is blood. You can't see. This is horror. You see, you see moon turning into blood, and there will be vapor of smoke and fire.

[5:50] What's that? Naturally, what will be happening is, people will be looking for, some sort of salvation. I need to be safe from it. What's going on?

[6:00] What's going on? People will be running for shelter. But where are you going to go? It's everywhere. So, and the Australians will see it first. See, we hear that it's coming.

[6:16] And then the Asians, the Indians, and then Middle East. Then, oh, that thing is coming. France, well, Germany, or Holland will have their, because they are an hour ahead of us.

[6:26] They realize, so before he even comes here, and it will be streamed everywhere, around the world. So, people will begin to go to the bank, to take out their money, and I mean, things will be happening. Some will say, I don't care about this bank money.

[6:39] I need to save my life. And so, he said, you want to be saved? He said, there will be a solution. And he says that, Peter says that, when the prophecy was given, he didn't leave the solution out.

[6:50] In Joel chapter 2, verse 28, when he said all these things were going to happen, in Enchaduel chapter 2, verse 30, he said, all these things will happen. The sun shall be, and then, I will show wonders in the heavens.

[7:01] And I look at it, verse 31. Then Joel said, verse 31, the sun shall be, all right, before the great day, and the terrible day of the Lord. Then verse 32, is the one I'm looking for.

[7:12] And he shall come to pass. Whosoever shall call, on the name of the Lord, shall be delivered. Ah! So, there will be a way out. Whosoever. So, Peter quotes this, and he says that, when you are looking for a way out, on what is coming, there's only one way out.

[7:28] And it will be, it doesn't matter who you are, it doesn't matter what you've done, it doesn't matter your background, the only requirement is, if you shall call, whosoever, shall call, on the name, of the Lord, shall, so if you want to be said, what are you supposed to do?

[7:46] Call the name of the Lord. It's as simple as that. But now, that begs the question. Which of the Lord's names? Because it didn't say, you call on the Lord, it said, you call on the name.

[7:58] What if, you call the wrong name? Name. Name. Name. Okay. The last day comes, and you are scared, and Jesse, you have to call a name, you call, let's say, you are jumping out of plane, and then you have to call a name, for the parachute to open.

[8:13] And you jump, and you call on the name, and you call the wrong name. You call David Entry, the parachute will open. And now you are thinking, what name should I call?

[8:23] Oh, you call, Jehovah. So, which of, because God has given a lot of names.

[8:37] Is it any name of the Lord? He said, whosoever shall call on the name. There is a, my goodness. There is a certain name.

[8:48] In Acts chapter 4, verse 11 and 12. In Acts chapter 4, verse 12, let's go to the verse 12. The verse 12 says that, neither is there salvation in any other, for there is none other name.

[9:03] So, there is only, one name. There is only one name. There is one name. And he says that, the salvation is predicated on calling on that name.

[9:18] So, Peter says, that's all part of the quotation. So, Peter quotes in Acts chapter 2, verse 17, from verse 16, 17 is a quotation, 18 part of the quotation, 19 part of the quotation, 20 part of the quotation, 21 part of the quotation.

[9:34] And now he says that, now, this we are talking about, what is coming. We are in the last days, somebody needs to be saved. Name. Let me tell you about the name. So, as soon as he finished quoting, look at the first thing instead.

[9:46] Verse 22. Ye men of Israel, hear these words. Jesus of Nazareth. Ha ha. Jesus of Nazareth.

[9:57] What's the name? Jesus of Nazareth. I'm going to explain why, in the church, we don't mention, I pray this prayer, in the name of Jesus of Nazareth.

[10:09] But we pray, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Ha ha ha. Jesus of Nazareth. Because there is a name given amongst men, by which we might be saved.

[10:21] The name is Jesus. But that was Peter talking to Jews in Jerusalem. There were at least, seven Jesuses, in the New Testament. Seven Jesuses.

[10:33] And another one is trying to make his way, into some other religious books. Ha ha ha. Ha ha ha. So, there is a certain name.

[10:45] Which of the Jesuses is supposed to be mentioned? Which of the, so Peter said, so you don't get it wrong, let me tell you, Jesus of Nazareth.

[10:57] It's a particular Jesus, the one of Nazareth. Usually, when they say, Simon of Cyrene, of even Judas, Iscariot, means that, Judas of Kirot, means that, they are, they name you based on where you were born, not where you live.

[11:14] So, most of us here, they won't say, Michael, of London. I know. Ha ha ha. They are likely to say, Michael of Lagos.

[11:26] Ha ha ha. Ha ha ha. Of Abiyakuta. Ha ha ha. Ha ha ha. Ha ha ha. Ha ha ha. Ha ha ha. Ha ha ha. Fill in the blank yourself.

[11:36] Ha ha ha. So, Jesus of Nazareth, where was he born? Ha ha ha. Some were born. della veneza. Ha ha ha.

[11:48] Ha ha ha ha. Ha ha ha. Ha ha ha. Ha ha ha ha. Long time ago, in Nazareth.

[12:02] Ha ha ha. It's not Jesus, of Bethlehem. But really it should have been said Jesus of Bethlehem. But the Christmas story didn't feature when it comes to the matter of salvation.

[12:17] So they spoke about Jesus of Nazareth more relating to his life and ministry and his death. Because the early church never focused on the Christmas story.

[12:29] Never once did they ever focus on the Christmas story. Some of them didn't even realize that when he was born. It didn't matter to them. Jesus of Nazareth. Then it says that if you must be saved, there are four things you have to know about this Jesus of Nazareth. If you don't know you can't be saved.

[12:50] Four things to know to be saved. Four things that you have to know about Jesus. Let's look at the text. Men of Israel hear these words. Jesus of Nazareth. Amen!

[13:08] Everybody say amen. I will say it again. Number one. To know to be saved. That Jesus was a human being.

[13:20] He was a man. And actual he wasn't some avatar created or computer generated personality. AI.

[13:32] AI. Yeah. Yeah. Like most of us who we are online is not a real you. Most people have been misled by who you have been projecting yourself to be on online.

[13:50] So praise the Lord. So Jesus Christ of Nazareth a man. A man. A man. He was a real human being.

[14:03] He had a place of birth. You can trace his life. In fact, they said that, is this not Jesus the carpenter? Mark chapter 6 verse 3 and 4.

[14:19] They marveled at the words that he was speaking. And they said, is not this the carpenter? The son, they knew whose son he was. They knew his mother.

[14:31] So Jesus Christ is not like someone who showed up and no one knew where he came from. They knew. Everybody knew. They saw him growing up. They knew his mother. They said that, is this not the carpenter?

[14:42] Because he built a recent wardrobe. When the dodgy builder came to do some wrong thing, and now that everything was collapsing and breaking down, they had to call Jesus because he was such a good carpenter.

[14:59] People like his building trade. He was a builder. So he said, is this? They came to fix our chair in the house. That's the guy I told you is a good carpenter.

[15:10] So they knew him. Is this not the carpenter, the son of Mary, and the brother of James, Joseph, Judas, and Simon? And are not his, so he had brothers and sisters.

[15:25] Are not his sisters here with us? So they were offended to him. Now, Jesus Christ, so Peter refers to that same Jesus. The human Jesus they knew.

[15:37] So to be saved, you must know, what must you know about this human Jesus? Peter says, Jesus Christ of Nazareth, a man attested, accredited, endorsed, authenticated, displayed, exhibited.

[15:56] So Jesus Christ, when he was on the earth, he was an exhibition of God. He was an exhibition. You couldn't say you were not aware he was there. because that exhibition was so strong and in the face of everybody, you can't deny it.

[16:12] So Peter makes reference to this human Jesus. There was a man living amongst us who we can't deny there was something about him. He was in the boat with people, they were about to drown.

[16:23] He said, no, you can't drown. He gets up and he tells the sea, be still, and the sea obeys. He meets people who are dead in their coffins and he opens the coffin and says, come back, come out.

[16:34] What manner of man is this? People who are born blind, he restores their sight. People who have been struggling and suffering with all kinds of ailments for years, they touch him and their illnesses go.

[16:47] He was doing things that only God could do. Jesus Christ of Nazareth was doing things that only God could do, pointing the fact that he was not just, even though he was fully human, there was something divine about him.

[17:01] something supernatural about him. He says that he did signs, which we all know. Jesus Christ of Nazareth, a man attested by God to you.

[17:15] You can't deny it by miracles, wonders, and signs, which God did through him. Nicodemus came to Jesus, John 3, verse 2. We know you are a teacher sent from God because no man can do, for no one can do these things unless God is with him.

[17:34] So they knew that this was somebody supernatural. They knew that the things he was doing pointed only to deity. Even though he was a human being, he lived a life like a god on this earth.

[17:49] Even though he lived everything human he was, but there was something certainly divine about him. They knew it. He did signs, he did wonders.

[18:00] In John chapter 3, verse 2, we just saw it. He said, no one can do these things except God be with him. In John chapter 6, verse 14. John chapter 6, verse 14 says that, then those men, when they had seen the signs that Jesus did, said, truly, this is truly the prophet who is to come into the world.

[18:24] The signs were pointing to, sign, when you are going to Bermium, respect the sign. The road signs are pointing you to something. When you are going to Cornwall, and then you see a sign, Sheffield, Sheffield, Sheffield, shouldn't you?

[18:40] So Jesus was a sign from heaven that God is amongst us. God is walking amongst us. In Acts chapter 2, verse 43, it says that, then fear came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles, because signs always point to something greater.

[19:02] So it says, Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God amongst you by miracles and wonders and signs. Who did it? Which God did by him in the midst of you?

[19:14] As ye yourselves also know. This is not something that anyone can say I'm not aware of. The supernatural nature of the life of Jesus was very evident.

[19:26] There was something so divine about him that anyone who said what we didn't know is a liar. It's just that they didn't want to accept it. There's a difference between not wanting to accept it and not knowing about it.

[19:41] They knew. So it's a which you all know. So number one, what do you have to know about Jesus to be saved? Number one, he was a man who was a manifestation of God on earth.

[19:54] He was a man. There are all kinds of sects that believe that Jesus was not fully man. No. Watch this. This is very important Christian doctrine.

[20:06] Anytime you assume that Jesus was not fully man, you can be saved. It doesn't matter how nice you are, how a good person you are.

[20:17] We are not saved by how good we are. We are saved by these facts. Because it's news. Good news. The gospel. You want good news.

[20:29] News are facts. Facts. Documented facts. News are facts that are pointing to something that has already happened. History. So it's not just prophecy.

[20:41] It's news. Good news. And the only way you can be saved is to know the news and accept the news and believe the news and live your life by the news. That's the only way you can be saved.

[20:53] So first thing about the news is that Jesus was a real human being. How do you know an organization is a cult?

[21:04] Listen to the teachings. Any teachings that diverts, they can say every other thing right. They can believe in the resurrection, they can believe in forgiveness of sins, but if they get this wrong, that Jesus was no man, sectarianism is entering.

[21:20] Cults is gathered. Apostasy is going to begin. Or heresy. So it doesn't matter the miracles a person does. It doesn't matter the power or the crowd we can gather.

[21:34] If this is not a foundational and a cardinal belief amongst us, we are off. That's why it is necessary for every teacher of scripture to be basically theologically trained.

[21:52] Because you might assume that it's not a big deal. It is the biggest deal. You see what I'm saying? There are many people who think whether Jesus was man, he wasn't fully man, he was partially God, partially man, it doesn't matter.

[22:06] Me, I believe it does miracles. And I'm saying, please, the faith is resting on certain facts. It's called in theological circles, no time.

[22:19] The data of our faith matters so long as what we believe is concerned. Oh, it matters. It is the data that determines what kind of faith you have. So, when you see scripture in the New Testament, most of the time, for instance, 2 Peter chapter 1, verse 1, it talks about to them that have obtained like precious faith.

[22:40] Even Titus, yeah, Titus talks about for the faith of God's elect. and then Jude chapter 1, verse 3, it says that contending for the faith. In 1 Timothy chapter 1, verse 1 and chapter 1, verse 19, it talks about they have made shipwreck of the faith.

[22:55] Now, watch this. When you read the New Testament and come across the word, the faith, it's not a verb, it's a noun. The faith is a noun. And this is very important. The faith, let's all say the faith.

[23:08] The faith is a noun. When you come across faith, we are saved by faith. The faith is a verb. It's an action word. All right. So every believer, the judge, he didn't say the judge shall live by the faith.

[23:21] The judge shall live by faith. But what makes your faith sound is the faith. Now, what do we mean by the faith? The set of facts that we believe. The set of facts.

[23:33] That is why doctrine is what determines the faith. And people can deviate from the faith. faith. That means that they've gone off from the doctrine. The clear and clean set of orthodox biblical doctrines that have been given to us.

[23:49] One faith. Ephesians chapter four, verse four and five. It talks about one faith. We are called into one spirit, one Lord, one faith.

[24:01] It's not the action faith. Okay? So we all, watch this, Ephesians chapter four, verse 13. So we all come to the unity of the faith. Now, this is talking about the set of truths, the things we believe, the things, it's called the tenets of Christianity.

[24:19] It is more important than the happenings in church. Because a lot of things can happen if we don't contend for the faith, very soon we go off.

[24:30] Like Karen, modern day Turkey. It was, that's why you have church Ephesus, Ephesus, Colossians, Asia, when it says that the church of Asia, they were all within that territory.

[24:43] Today is 99% Islam. How did that happen? It's not because Islam is powerful. Because if Islam is that powerful, why is it that wherever Christianity is coming, don't preach, don't preach.

[24:56] But wherever Christianity is, any religion can come and it's not a threat to us. But anytime Christianity begins to go anywhere, they begin to put restrictions and injunctions to the fact that even Judaism, Christianity was a threat to Judaism, to the standard, they warned them, have we not, he said, let us strictly charge them not to preach, let's threaten them.

[25:15] Acts chapter 4 verse 17 and 18, let us threaten them, let us threaten them and warn them not to preach in that name. I'm talking about a name, not to preach in the name of Jesus.

[25:27] And then Acts chapter 5 verse 28, he said, did we not strictly warn you not to teach in that name, in this name, and see, you have filled the whole of Jerusalem with your doctrine.

[25:37] So he tells you the foundation of the doctrine is the name. The foundation of the doctrine. Christianity, he says that in 1 Timothy chapter 4 verse 1, the spirit expressly or clearly says that in the last days, in the later time, some would depart from what?

[25:58] From what? And what do they do? They'll give it to deceiving spirits and what? Teachings, doctrines of devils. So they have departed from the faith and now entertaining all kinds of things that is aberrant from the faith.

[26:13] That is why every healthy Christian living, Christian life must be built on healthy ways, wholesome ways, the ways that are called with Jesus Christ.

[26:27] So he says that people would deviate from this. So when you come across the word faith, he's talking about the set of things that we've been taught and believed. Now, salvation is predicated on this fact that Jesus, it's very important, that Jesus Christ is a human being who lived a human life but God at the same time.

[26:49] That's why he could do that. He says for you to know that the son of man has power on earth to forgive sins. Mark chapter 2, who can forgive sins but God? Nobody can forgive sins.

[27:00] That's a correct theological fact. That's an accurate theological fact that no man can forgive sins on earth. No man. But Jesus said for you to know, verse 9, that the son of man has power on earth.

[27:14] What? Has power on earth to forgive sins. He turned to the man of the poor, the one who was sick, and he said, rise up, take up your bed and walk. Just for you to know, the son of man has power on earth to forgive sin.

[27:28] Even though it's only God who forgives sin, I'm telling you, God is in the flesh. So Jesus Christ, a man, attested by God. So one, you are supposed to know, what are you supposed to know about Jesus?

[27:39] That he's a man sent from God, or a man, a God-man walking. It's better that way. Number two, let's look at the text again. Verse 23, the next verse.

[27:50] Shall we all read the aloud? Please, let's go. Wow.

[28:04] He was delivered. Matthew chapter 20, verse 18 and 19. He was delivered. He didn't hand himself out. Sorry to say that, okay, he was just, no, he didn't hand himself out.

[28:19] Okay, kill me. Don't go and drink poison and say, I'll prove to you that. Don't go and jump in the lion's den and say, I'll see, God has told me, lion will not eat me. Jesus came to die, but he didn't go and say, kill me.

[28:32] Here I am, kill me. No. He was delivered. He says that, behold, we are going up to Jerusalem and the son of man will be betrayed to the chief priest and to the scribes and they will condemn him to death.

[28:47] The next verse, verse 19. and deliver him to the Gentiles. They, watch this, they got the Romans to do their dirty job.

[28:58] They convicted him based on their law and they got the Romans to kill him. So it's like they are not culpable. You Romans killed him.

[29:08] He says that they will deliver him to the Gentiles. Acts chapter 3 verse 13. He said, you delivered him. Can you imagine the pain you will feel when your people deliver you?

[29:25] Let your enemy, maybe you are at war and a prisoner of war, they catch you and after your enemies have arrested you, they deliver you to some terrible people. But if your own people deliver you to your enemies and their enemies, your own people befriend, they befriend their enemies because they want to deliver you.

[29:45] He was delivered. dead. He said, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers glorified his servant Jesus whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate when he was determined to let him go.

[30:01] He didn't know it was about his very great. He was determined to let him go but you denied him. So Jesus was delivered. So he says that whom, verse 23 again, Acts chapter 2 verse 23, it says that he being delivered, oh, oh, oh, oh, there's a conundrum here.

[30:18] There's a conundrum here. This scripture solves a major problem in scripture about, or it makes it clear that there's no contradiction between the sovereignty of God and the free will of man.

[30:33] Because there's this philosophical debate that if God is sovereign, how can man be free? Because if God determines what happens, then we are like zombies.

[30:46] And yet, we are free. So if we are free to do whatever we want to do, then God is not sovereign. I know some of you have not been exposed to some of these debates, but debates and higher criticisms, these are some of the things they debate.

[31:02] And the twin sister is if there is God, why are people suffering? What makes you think that your little sin will not grow? The things you are doing which God has not strikes you.

[31:18] I know you, I know you, I'm just talking to somebody. The things you are doing which God has not strikes you. Look at what you did to your former girlfriend. Didn't you cheat on her?

[31:29] Human beings are fundamentally flawed, corrupt internally. We were born that way. That's why Jesus said, whoever is without sin, let him through the first thing.

[31:41] That's why it's so clear in scripture. For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the world. He did not send John 3 verse 17. He did not. He can't do that. Because every one of us is damnable.

[31:54] Every one of us is guilty. The Bible said, you do not mark iniquity, but if God should mark iniquity, who will stand? For all have sinned and fallen short. Romans 3 verse 23.

[32:06] All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Romans 3 verse 17. All have gone astray. All, none of us, none see God. We have all, no one understands. There is not one that see God.

[32:18] Not one. That tells you that if you are doing God, it didn't start from you. That's also another theological point. Your salvation and your born again never started with you.

[32:29] tell me what contribution you had, you made in your conception. Can any child make contribution towards their being born or their conception?

[32:41] Even not even your name. When you are a child, you don't make a contribution in your name. So then if born again is an act of birth, why do we think that it is repository in the will of man?

[32:57] Will of man doesn't play a role in determining the birth of that person? So it said that for whoever received him, he gave the power to become those who believed. The Bible said even his name, John 1 verse 12, even his name.

[33:10] Then the verse 13 said who are born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. This born again starts from God. Not the will of man.

[33:22] Hallelujah. So it is necessary to understand that the sovereignty of God does not trump the freedom of man. This is a classic case where the Bible says that you delivered him.

[33:41] What made you deliver him? By the determined purpose and the full knowledge. Ah! So who is to be blamed for his death?

[33:54] The Jews are to be blamed for his death. The Romans are to be blamed for him. Because why? It says that you have taken by lawless hands. What they did was the greatest miscarriage of justice ever.

[34:08] What they did. So even if God was not playing a role behind the scenes, they would have still done it. So they were still culpable. But God, this is what is not just a miracle. This is not a miracle.

[34:19] This is what is called the providence of God. Everybody's doing what they want to do. And it looks like God was not involved, but in his providence. While they are doing it, he's just playing what he has planned to do already.

[34:31] So Judas betrayed Jesus. That's why Judas is guilty. You can't say, but someone had to do it. Even if Jesus was not meant to have died, Judas would have still betrayed him.

[34:42] So what Judas did, he wasn't inspired by the Holy Spirit. the act of Judas was not an inspiration.

[34:53] It was the manifestation of his wicked and cruel heart. So if God was not even involved, Judas would have done it. But I want to draw your attention to Luke 22 verse 22 about the determined counsel of God.

[35:07] Jesus said, truly the Son of Man goes as it has been, as it has been, but woe to the man by whom he is betrayed.

[35:20] He clearly says that Judas is culpable. He's responsible for his actions. And he'll be punished for what he did.

[35:31] Even though it played the purpose of God. Everything about the cross of Christ was predetermined by God. wicked men would kill him.

[35:42] Lawless men would kill him. They would miscarry justice. And they would justify their behavior. But they know it was miscarriage of justice. They did it. So number two, second thing you have to know about Jesus for you to be saved, that he was killed.

[36:01] He was crucified. He was executed. He wasn't the only one who died on the cross. Is that one learning something? Jesus was not the only one who died on the cross.

[36:12] There were over 30,000 people who died on the cross in those days. 30,000 over. That was the Roman style of execution. So what makes Jesus' own different?

[36:24] He was the only one whose execution was planned by God thousands of years before. All the rest, it was the Romans who carried it out, who did it, who planned it. But Jesus' own God planned it.

[36:36] The Bible said he was slain before the foundation of the world. In Revelation chapter 13 verse 8, it says that there was a council in heaven. God determined that this, he said, Revelation chapter 13 verse 8, all who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the book of life of the Lamb, slain when?

[36:55] From the foundation. Before, watch this, that means when the world was being founded, there was a plan in place already. I'm going to even make it a bit more complicated. Don't forget, great is the mystery of godliness.

[37:08] Before Adam sinned, the lamb has been slain. God planned the crucifixion of Jesus Christ before Adam sinned.

[37:20] It's nothing like Adam sinned and God said, okay, now what am I going to do? What am I going to do? It didn't take him by surprise. So why did he allow it to go on? If he doesn't allow it to go on, how can God be just? So he allowed nature to take its course, even though he was the master mind.

[37:39] Nature cannot thwart his plans. Anyone who asks, if there is God, I don't want to let you go, if there is God, why are people suffering? First of all, it's a display of your ignorance.

[37:51] Which God are you talking about? Can you define the God you are talking about? If someone comes to you and says that if we have a government in this country, why are people still paying electricity bill? You have to ask, okay, I think there's a problem.

[38:05] I think you have to define what you mean by government. You have to define what you mean by government. Because to you, government means that people, then, if you have a government, that means you don't pay.

[38:17] Okay, someone says that if we have democracy in the United Kingdom, why are people still paying water bill or electricity bill or phone bills?

[38:28] Oh, excuse me. I don't think you know what democracy is. Because if you really knew what democracy, I don't think you'd be talking the way you're talking. The same way when people say, if there is God, why are people suffering?

[38:39] It's a fundamental flaw in their theology. You have to define the God you're talking about. Who told you God is Superman? He's just there. He's so powerful. So no one is, everybody.

[38:50] First of all, who told you God created us because he wants us to be happy? happy? We are not created to come and be enjoying and happy. No, there was a purpose of God in creation.

[39:03] That's why the foundation, from the foundation of the world, the lamb was slain because God had an agenda. I taught in KP2, the purpose of God for creation is for his enlargement.

[39:14] That will be his enlargement. That will be his counterpart. That will be his reflection. And then will be his habitation. Habitation, reflection, counterpart, and enlargement.

[39:28] Fourth thing. Now, if you don't understand that in scripture, you'll be vandalizing and butchering God. I was teaching yesterday somewhere, and by God's grace, I said some things that later on probably will have to teach properly here.

[39:41] I spoke about the mystery of the ages. Everybody who comes into Christianity, or come, let me, you've even known to use the word Christianity. Everybody who becomes a child of God and starts worshipping the true God, the blessed potentate, anyone who starts it, you are likely to infiltrate it with your preconceived idea, notion of religion, spirituality, godliness.

[40:04] So the godliness that was projected to you, that is what you are bringing it on. So then, if we don't school you, if you don't have good teaching to school you about what Christianity is about, what the church is about, what godliness is about, and true spirituality is about, you'll be walking around thinking that God said, God said, it's a sign that you are spiritual.

[40:29] A lot of people, even in charismatism, in pentecostalism, have missed what true spirituality is. It's human. when you go to India, and you go to some village in India, who, an evangelist like Pastor Philip, has gone there to preach for three months, and for the past six months, people have become born again, and they are practicing Christianity, and Pastor Philip left, and they are practicing.

[40:54] When you go there, in a year's time, you'll be shocked the kind of Christianity they'll be practicing. But the time they're rather, it's infiltrated with Hindu mentality, and Hindu ideology. Everywhere, European mentality of spirituality, is even invading Christianity.

[41:11] The European, Western mentality of good religion is invading Christianity and trying to redefine Christianity. But let's stay with the scripture. The only way we can find out what Christianity is about is from the text.

[41:26] So if you close the Bible, we are going to go off. Every one of us. Didn't it happen that in Acts chapter 15, verse 1, can you imagine that some Jews, they were born again, they came to Antioch, and they told the believers that unless you are circumcised according to the law of Moses, you cannot be saved.

[41:43] Hey, where is this one coming from? That's why a whole book of Galatians was written to refute and counteract this invasion of Judaism into Christianity. Even Peter himself was overtaken because he didn't get the picture because why?

[41:58] Why have they been worshipping God, the Jehovah God of heaven? They've been worshipping him for all these years, and yet when he was manifested and they became born again, they were still missing it because God has always been hidden.

[42:09] The church has been a mystery, so it doesn't matter. Moses professed about the church, but never saw the church. It's been a mystery. So if it's a mystery, then it must be unveiled systematically as we go.

[42:25] If I don't keep studying, I don't keep reading, and listen, I don't keep listening to sound teachers, with time, I will also start going off.

[42:39] In spite of the foundations I have, because there are other things that will be new, that have been covered by scripture already that I would have realized that no, it's not covered in the way I'm going.

[42:49] That is why anytime you see anybody who says that I'm the only one who has the truth, run away from them. Any church who claims to be the only ones who speak the truth, that is caught.

[43:04] Because the truth of God is not given to only one group. The truth of God cannot be handed to only one, not even the Jews. Can you imagine that the church was born in Jerusalem, but before they could say Jack, people in Samaria are already catching it.

[43:22] And they had to send Peter and John to go there. It was already happening in Samaria, and without any apostolic contribution, it moved to Antioch. Because God cannot leave the truth of his word into the hands of only a selected few.

[43:39] These things are very important. And so, it's, it's behooves of us to understand that the scripture says that Jesus Christ was crucified by the determined counsel of God.

[43:55] They were called, Acts chapter 4 verse 28, look at Acts chapter 4 verse 28, amazing text. God had a counsel for to do, that's when they gathered, the wicked people who killed Jesus, they gathered for to do what thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.

[44:12] Can you imagine? So, the killing of Jesus, God was the one who authorized it. They planned it, but God allowed it, because it was the plan of God.

[44:25] What happened to Jesus? He died. They killed him. Brothers and sisters, he was killed. He didn't vanish. It was some, some religion who tried to talk about Jesus says that he didn't die.

[44:37] Jesus was so powerful, he was replaced by Judas. And so, that God took him and went and hid him somewhere and he's coming. So, they also tell you, we believe in the second coming of Christ. Ask them if they believe in the death and resurrection of Christ.

[44:51] If they believe in Jesus as the son of God. If you don't believe in Jesus as the son of God, it doesn't matter how good you are. It doesn't matter how wonderful you are. You are off. You are not worshipping the true God.

[45:02] Because there's no head pathway, intellectual pathway to God. even though God doesn't excuse your thinking. It starts from the heart. So, Jesus was crucified.

[45:15] Now, so number one, you must know that he was a man full of God. God man. Number two, you must know that Jesus Christ was crucified. And the crucifixion, it was the Jews who initiated it.

[45:27] They triggered it. By lawlessness. So, listen to it, brothers and sisters. His death, he was not warranted. He didn't deserve to die. Why? Because he was innocent. That's why the scripture makes it clearly.

[45:39] It says that lawless hands killed him. His death was not lawful. If he's lawful, then he can't save us by his death. Oh, he didn't get it.

[45:50] If he's lawful, then he died for his own crimes. But he didn't die for his own crimes because he had not committed any crime. Bible says in Galatians chapter one verse four, that God gave him up for us.

[46:03] God gave himself for our sins. Why did he die? For our sins. Not for his sins because he didn't have any. He didn't do any one thing wrong.

[46:15] And they still killed him. Yes, they are lawless. But he needed to die for you and I. Because the wages of sin is dead. Someone has sinned. And for you to be pardoned, death must go.

[46:26] Death must answer before you can be pardoned. So the justice of God demands blood for sin. Do you hear what I said? The justice of God demands blood for sin.

[46:39] But part of the oppressions of God, the operational systems of God, the judicial programming of God has been coded in that it doesn't matter what blood it is.

[46:55] It doesn't have to be the blood of the sinner. It can be the blood of a substitute. Just like when you owe money. You have to pay it off. It doesn't have to be your money.

[47:06] If you can get your brother to give you, it's that sort. Like they clamp your car. You don't clamp your car in Jesus. And you know, normally when they clamp it, they tell you, if you don't pay, we are coming to take it away.

[47:18] So they ask you, don't you have any friend, any relative? I don't have money. They say, don't worry. We know you don't have money. But you must know someone who should provide the money. All we need is not free. We need money on your behalf.

[47:29] In the same way, God says that if you have sin, then I need blood. Either your blood or somebody else's blood. But one thing, if you are owing the company 500 pounds, and they said if you have to pay the 500 pounds before they clamp your car, and your brother can say, no, I'll pay, I'll pay.

[47:47] Then he removes 50 pounds. No. He said, this is it. They said, no. No. Because it's of lower value. If you say, I'll pay 1,000. They say, fine. Fine. But you can't pay lower value.

[47:59] So the blood of bulls and goats cannot take care of our sins. Even though God temporarily instituted that in the Old Testament, so he can, there's some blood he can look onto.

[48:11] It's called atonement. To cover. So it was covering them. But Hebrews chapter 10, verse 4, verse 3 and 4 says that, for it is not possible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

[48:24] So it means those sins were never taken away. Then John the Baptist comes on the scene in John chapter 1, verse 29. He said, behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. Why? Because his blood is superior.

[48:35] In 1 Peter chapter 1, verse 18 and 19, he says that you have been redeemed from the useless conduct of your fathers. Knowing that you are not redeemed with corruptible things like silver and gold from the aimless conduct received from the tradition from your fathers.

[48:49] But how are you redeemed? But by the precious blood of Christ as a lamb without blemish or without spot. He was faultless. He was without blemish and without fault. That is what our redemption is predicated on.

[49:01] In Acts chapter 20, verse 28, take heed to yourself and to the flock over which the Holy Ghost has made you overseer to shepherd the church of God which he purchased with his blood.

[49:12] The blood of Christ to purchase the church. It was a faultless blood. And so that is why, watch this, this is important. That word, lawless, is necessary.

[49:24] If you take it out, you are beginning to introduce a different doctrine. Through lawless hands, not lawful hands. Listen, Pontius Pilate said it over and over of four times.

[49:40] In John chapter 18, he said it. In John chapter 19, verse 4 and verse 6, he said, listen, I find no fault in this man. You brought him for thorough examination.

[49:52] Listen, I have carefully examined him and I find no fault. Even the Jews, when he asked them, what charge do you bring against him? They couldn't say what charge it was. They couldn't say to the standard when he hung on the cross, the thief says, the thief, the thief.

[50:08] I don't know how he found out that in prison. The thief said, listen, in Luke chapter 23, verse 41, 42, he says that, why are you talking this way? We deserve what we are going through.

[50:19] But this man, but this man has, ah, kind of a shunned a hire, has done nothing wrong. That's what our salvation is predicated on. If he had done something wrong, his blood couldn't save us.

[50:32] So he had to be faultless for his blood to be valid. Through lawlessness, you have taken and crucified, having crucified and put to death.

[50:44] So he actually died. He actually died. So one, he was God man. You have to know two, that he died. He was put to death lawlessly.

[50:56] What has this? Three. I like three. I like three. Without this, you can be saved. Number three. He said, but God, kandaba shandalahaya.

[51:09] But, verse 24, please. Verse 24. They kill him. Whom God raised. Why did they crucify him? Because he said he was the Messiah to come and he's the Lord, he's the son of God.

[51:24] So they crucified him to say that you are convicted. A junior court found him guilty. A superior court that I will raise him to prove you that you guys were wrong. God raised him up to prove him that what Jesus said, he wasn't wrong, he was right.

[51:42] Without the resurrection of Christ, there is no Christianity. In 1 Corinthians chapter 15, verse 3, he says, I deliver to you first of all, that Christ died for what?

[51:55] Our sins. Our sins. Not his sins. That Christ died for our sins according to the, it was not about an accident. Scripture has already defined how he's going to die, where he will die.

[52:05] Everything was planned according to the scripture. And was that the end of the story? No, that's not the end. Look at the next verse. And that he was buried. And that he rose again the third day according to scripture.

[52:18] According to scripture. So, the resurrection of Christ is an essential aspect of Christian doctrine. When you read the book of the New Testament, particularly in the book of Acts, it's replete with the messages or statements about his resurrection.

[52:35] In Acts chapter 2, verse 32. What does verse 32 say? This Jesus God has raised up. Wow! Somebody say this Jesus.

[52:45] This Jesus. God has raised up. In Acts chapter 3, verse 15. He said you delivered him. He says that you killed the prince of life whom God raised from the dead.

[52:56] Hallelujah. God raised him. In Acts chapter 4, verse 10. God raised him. In Acts chapter 4, verse 10. He said, let it be known to you all and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead.

[53:13] It was a very pivotal aspect of their preaching. In Acts chapter 5, verse 30. God raised him from the dead. God raised him from the dead. In Acts chapter 5, verse 30.

[53:24] He said, the God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you murdered. You murdered him, but God raised him. In Acts chapter 10, verse 40.

[53:35] He says that God raised him from the dead. God raised him. God raised him up on the third day. In Acts chapter 13, verse 30. Chapter 13, verse 33. Chapter 13, verse 34.

[53:46] It all points that Jesus didn't stay in the grave. Who says that God raised him from the dead. Verse 33. God has fulfilled this for us.

[53:57] Their children. In that he raised up Jesus. Verse 34. Verse 34. It says that, and that he raised him from the dead. God raised him from the dead. Everywhere in scripture.

[54:07] It's replete with the truth of the fact that he was raised. In Acts chapter 17, verse 31. At Mass Hill. When Paul was preaching to the philosopher.

[54:20] He says that, because God has appointed a day in which he will judge the world in righteousness by the man whom he has ordained. He has given assurance of this to all by raising him from the dead.

[54:36] He was raised from the dead. He didn't stay in the grave. He was raised from the dead. Oh, how about Acts chapter 26, verse 8. I like that one. Why do you consider it incredible?

[54:48] I mean, why should it be taught incredible by you that God raises the dead? Is it a big thing for God to raise the dead? Why are you surprised? God raises the dead.

[55:00] God raised him. In Romans chapter 10, verse 9 and 10. Verse 9. It said, if you can confess with your mind the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead.

[55:10] Did you see that? You will be saved. So you see, salvation is predicated on believing that he was raised from the dead. But how can he be raised from the dead if he didn't die? And how can he die if he wasn't an actual human being?

[55:24] So he was a man. He was crucified lawlessly. But God raised him from the dead. Now, Peter was preaching this message. Watch this. This is very important.

[55:35] Preaching this message. Seven weeks before this message he was preaching, people had crucified Jesus. And he had been...

[55:45] And it's different if he was preaching this message in maybe Damascus. All these things happened in Jerusalem. And he was standing in Jerusalem.

[55:56] And he was preaching that Jesus Christ has been raised from the dead. One of the proof of the resurrection. Somebody would have gone to bring the body and say, you are lying here. Because it didn't happen long ago.

[56:08] Somebody would have proved. Because just recently, few... Less than two months ago. Less than two months ago he died. But within the same jurisdiction.

[56:19] Within seven weeks he was standing before the people and telling them that God raised him from the dead. The Jews couldn't provide his dead body. The Romans couldn't provide his dead body. They couldn't.

[56:32] But there's one interesting thing. The disciples also couldn't provide his life body. They couldn't provide his life body.

[56:43] Why? I'll tell you why. That leads to the fourth point. Because his life body was not on earth. Ah! His life body was not on earth.

[56:57] He said God raised him. Verse 32. God raised him up and seated him. God raised up. For all witnesses. Verse 33. And therefore being exalted to the right hand of God.

[57:09] He was raised and he's in heaven. So we can't provide his physical body. Do I need to go to heaven and bring it down? They couldn't provide his physical body.

[57:20] But the evidence of his resurrection was so clear. Undeniable. It was notable. Is that one learning something? Don't be a Christian without being strong in these facts.

[57:33] It makes you a very wishy-washy Christian. Why have they reduced? So every group of people have their problem when it comes to Christianity.

[57:44] Because of their pre-existing notion, philosophy, concept of spirituality, of religion, of godliness. So African Christianity stands the risk of being infiltrated by African traditional religion.

[58:01] Where demons, witches, dominate the scene, the skyline. What? Yeah, African traditional religion.

[58:14] ATR. You can imagine how it would be like in India or China. You can imagine how it would be like in Southern America.

[58:27] Even in the Caribbeans. You can. Everywhere. People would bring their own thing on board. So if the word of God is not taught by pastors, by churches, and stay true to the word of God, a lot of other things are coming.

[58:40] They are on their way coming already because we come with it. You don't have to be bad. You come with it. Peter wouldn't have said that. I mean, why should I go to a Gentile's home to preach the gospel?

[58:50] He wouldn't have to. He didn't want to go. God had to force him through Revelations to go. And then in Galatians, the Jews came and Peter withdrew himself, played the hypocrisy.

[59:02] He didn't want them to see that I'm eating with Gentiles. What is wrong with eating with Gentiles? You can imagine when the Holy Ghost invaded Peter's speech. All the Holy Spirit needed to save the house of Cornelius was a preacher.

[59:16] Don't downplay a preacher. The role of a preacher. If the devil wants to stop you from enjoying from God, he will turn your heart against preachers.

[59:27] I think this one was good for internet. Don't be so busy listening to fake or bad news constantly about preachers. If you constantly are reading bad news about doctors, bad news, dodgy doctors, you might die in your sickness.

[59:46] Because when someone could, they will give you medication. You see, stop celebrating negative news about church leaders and pastors. For goodness sake, they are also human beings.

[59:58] They are also human beings. The only human being who was faultless is Jesus. Even Peter, after I said, turn to Jesus, you are the son of God. Jesus had to rebuke the devil out of him. Seven chapters, verses after.

[60:11] Peter, how could you get it wrong? How could it? Paul said, we speak, we prophesy in part. We see in part. I am not making a case for wrong behavior. But I am making a case for Christian understanding.

[60:27] He said, God used this preacher. When he wanted to save the house of Cornelius, he sent for a preacher. Can you imagine? A whole angel came from heaven to Cornelius. But he just said, sorry, I can't preach.

[60:39] Tell me about Jesus. No, I can't say anything. I don't have any message about Jesus. Jesus, so send to Joppa, call for Peter. He said, he will come and tell you. He said, he will tell you words by which you will be saved.

[60:52] Hey. But angel, you are also speaking words to me. He said, no, my own can't save you. It's preachers who must preach for you to be saved. So they sent for a preacher.

[61:03] But watch this. All God in there was a preacher. But don't forget, watch this. Watch this. Peter was not totally okay when it comes to his perception about the church.

[61:19] No. He was not there yet. He didn't really even get a picture of the church. So he didn't see why Gentiles should be part of the church.

[61:30] But God needed a preacher. So he said, the preacher go. As the preacher was speaking, all the preacher had to do was to tell them about Jesus of Nazareth. How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and power.

[61:41] Who went about doing good. Healing all who were oppressed of the devil. For God was with him. They crucified him. And God raised him on the third day. And then the Bible says God showed him to the people.

[61:52] Not everybody. To those who have selected to be witnesses for him. And the Bible says that when Peter said this, that God raised him. And after verse 43. Verse 44. Holy Ghost just said, Peter, okay, enough of that.

[62:04] You finish talking about Jesus and the resurrection. Stand aside. Yeah. Stand aside. So he put him aside. And the Bible says, while Peter here speaks these words, the Holy Ghost came. Because if he waited for Peter, Peter would have messed it up.

[62:18] Because of his preconceived notion. And you know what happened? The Jews, the Jewish believers. Verse 46. Verse 45, sorry. The Jewish believers. Those of circumcision who believed.

[62:30] They are also believers. Listen to this very carefully. They were also believers by proper Jews. They believed. They were astonished. That Gentiles too? See, if you had left it to them, they would have accepted it.

[62:42] But that was God's plan. They said Gentiles too? Like sometimes you come to church and you see someone you just saw in a nightclub. Yeah. And you are wondering, this one too is in the choir.

[62:53] I'm not coming to this church. I'm not coming to the church. Can you please shut up? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Romans chapter 14 verse 4. Who are you to judge another man's servants?

[63:06] Yeah. What? In your mind, bro? Yeah. Would you just shut up and concentrate on your life? That's right. So, Peter, the Jews were surprised.

[63:21] Guess what? In Acts chapter 11, as soon as they got back to Jerusalem, the message has reached them before Peter arrived. That can you imagine what Peter has done? This new move of God is contaminating it.

[63:31] What has he done? He went to Gentiles' house. And guess what? Afterwards, he ate with them. Hey, Peter. He went to the second assignment and ate with them. He was eating spaghetti bolognese.

[63:52] They really were not happy with what was happening. So, it was reported. So, they charged him. And Peter started to explain how this thing came about. It wasn't me. I was minding my business. I saw a vision.

[64:03] The Holy Ghost said, go. And I went. And Peter said, as I was speaking, the Holy Spirit fell on them just as he fell on us at the beginning. So, he said, so who?

[64:13] Look at what Peter said. Who am I? Who am I? Who am I to stop the hand of God and say, God, this one has been the nightclub too much. You can't bless him. You can't use him. Shut up, Peter.

[64:24] The Holy Ghost said side and side. Why? Because every one of us will come into Christianity with our preconceived notions and philosophy. If we don't keep the Bible open and thought clearly, we will get it wrong somewhere along the line.

[64:37] We'll get it wrong. So, the last point you need to know to be saved. Jesus is in heaven. He's not dead.

[64:49] He's in heaven. And his body is in heaven. He's sitting at the right hand of God. And now he's living his life by the Spirit in the church. What are the four things to know to be saved?

[65:02] One, Jesus is the God man. Number two, he died. Number three, he was raised or he resurrected.

[65:13] Number four, he's in heaven, seated on the right hand of God. What is the implication of him being in heaven? That's what gives the church its meaning. If Jesus were anointed to be in heaven, well, there's no point we have church.

[65:27] Church is useless without Jesus being in heaven. So, until he went into heaven, the church could not start. So, he told them, wait! For when I go, I will send a comforter.

[65:38] And in Acts chapter 2, verse 32 and 33, him being exalted, verse 33, Acts chapter 2, verse 33, him being exalted to the right hand, therefore being exalted to the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this, which you now see and hear.

[66:02] That's where the church began, after he received it. So, what is the church? The church is the body of Christ. Christ is seated in heaven, but his body is on the earth. And the head is still in heaven.

[66:14] What a mystery. What a mystery. Christ is seated in heaven, and his body is on earth. That's why he met Paul when he was persecuting the church.

[66:29] In Acts chapter 9, verse 5, he said, Saul! Saul! Why did you persecuting me? He said, hey, excuse me, who are you? I don't know who are you. How are you? He said, verse 5, he said, I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting.

[66:42] No, no, it's the church. He said, the church is my body. So, can you imagine, if you treat, the way you treat the church will determine how God will treat you. Now, how would you know this traditionally?

[66:55] From your background, from your traditional knowledge of religion, how would you know this? You need to be taught. People are out there, some are even Christians, but they've not been taught, so they don't know.

[67:07] I've left the church. I'm just doing that between me and Christ. You don't understand. The main reason for the gospel is fellowship. We preach the gospel so you can have fellowship. That's for me, it's between me and God.

[67:18] No, it's not a personal, Christianity is not about a personal relationship with God. It's about a corporate relationship with God. Why? Because he's seated in heaven. That is what makes the church alive.

[67:31] No human being can close the church now. It's too late, because the church is operated from heaven. You have to shoot the head. Close the headquarters before you can close down the church.

[67:47] What you need to know to be saved. What you need to know about Jesus. Number one, he's God, man. Number two, he died a lawless death. Number three, he was raised on the third day, according to scripture.

[68:01] Number four, he's seated in heaven, living his life on the earth. Did you receive something? Give Jesus praise.
