[0:00] Thank you for tuning into this message by David Entry. Every true revival is a product of the strong preaching of God's word.

[0:11] May you receive a word from this message that will spark a revival in you. Acts chapter 2. I would like to read from verse 29 all the way to the verse 42.

[0:27] Acts chapter 2 verse 29. It says that, Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the prophet David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulcher is with us unto this day.

[0:46] Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne.

[1:00] He, seeing this before, speak of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.

[1:11] Thus Jesus God has raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. Therefore, being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has shed this forth, which ye now see and hear.

[1:33] For David did not ascend into heaven, but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make your enemies thy footstool.

[1:46] Therefore, let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God has made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

[1:58] Now, when they heard this, they were pricked in their hearts, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, men and brethren, what shall we do?

[2:09] Then Peter said to them, Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

[2:23] For the promise is unto you and unto your children, and unto all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

[2:34] And with many other words, he testified and exhorted, saying, Save yourself from this unto us generation. Then they that gladly received the word were baptized, and the same day were added unto them about 3,000 souls.

[2:53] And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine, in the apostles' fellowship, in the apostles' breaking of bread, and prayer. Here ends the reading of God's word.

[3:04] Amen. Shall we please pray? Father, thank you. Thank you once again. Thank you for the privilege of gathering around your word. We pray that as your word we taught, let fellowship be enhanced.

[3:16] Let the fellowship that proceeds from you, and from the Son, which integrates us into the triune God, let that fellowship be produced through the teaching of your word.

[3:28] We thank you that Christ will be seen as your word is taught. Thank you that sicknesses will be healed, confusion will be cleared, despondence will be turned into encouragement and boldness.

[3:40] Thank you that as your word is taught, convictions will take place, and repentance will be granted, and salvation will occur. We thank you that above all, the gift of the Spirit will be granted through the teaching of your word.

[3:55] In Jesus' name, amen. Amen. Hallelujah. Amen. In our last session, I really couldn't wait to get onto this.

[4:07] David prophesied about the resurrection, and yet, when he spoke about the resurrection, he wasn't talking about himself. How do we know that he wasn't talking about himself?

[4:17] Scientifically, we looked at the observation of the dead body of David, and the tomb was still with them at the time they were preaching. So he couldn't be talking about David.

[4:28] And it's not just the tomb was there. The body had gone through decomposition, has decayed, or had seen corruption. But David's prophecy was talking about, you will not suffer your holy one to see corruption.

[4:41] And since he had seen corruption, he wasn't talking about himself. And Peter underscored the fact that because David was a prophet, he prophesied concerning the resurrection of Jesus.

[4:53] And so Peter made it very clear that David, being a prophet, and God having sworn an oath to him that he was going to raise the Messiah to sit on his throne, he prophesied about the resurrection.

[5:07] Then Peter said, there's Jesus. I like that. He says that, there's Jesus. Now, don't forget these kind of phrases. There's Jesus. He started his submission by explaining to them what was happening.

[5:21] And he said to them, this phenomenon is not something that is very remote from God's agenda. This phenomenon you are seeing and hearing is due to what had been prophesied by Joel.

[5:35] And after quoting Joel, he said, Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Wow. That's his interpretation to Joel. How is it that you are interpreting the scripture and we can't hear Jesus?

[5:48] He's butchering the scripture. Every scripture, even if it talks about money, it must be talking about money in the light of Jesus. So Peter says that, Jesus, after reading the text, it's like, here ends the reading of the holy word from Joel.

[6:05] And he said, thanks be to God, amen. He closes, he said, Jesus of Nazareth. Oh, I thought you were talking about Joel. Yeah, he's talking, it's Jesus. So he said, Jesus, man of Israel, Jesus of Nazareth.

[6:18] Now, after he spoke about what they were familiar with, about his lifetime, his crucifixion, his burial, and then what they were not aware of, his resurrection and ascension.

[6:30] Peter, explaining that in the light of scripture, tells them that David did resurrect, but this Jesus, verse 32, this Jesus has God raised up.

[6:41] Now, so he was making, watch this, he was making a case for the resurrection. Okay, because they were familiar about Jesus who was crucified, but what they didn't know was about the resurrection.

[6:52] The other time I was studying my Bible, and in Acts chapter 10, that really struck a chord, and I've never recovered from what I saw in Acts chapter 10.

[7:04] That was, Acts chapter 10 was about Peter in Cornelius' house. See, this is what I really trust, God, that will happen to you, that as you are growing as a Christian, you must be familiar with certain stories in the scripture, in certain parts of scripture, and how the stories unfolded.

[7:24] So when somebody, particularly, I really have been doing well trying to familiarize myself with the book of Acts. So when you mention Acts, chapter one, I know what is there. Chapter two, I know the Holy Ghost came, that's what we are dealing with.

[7:38] Chapter three, the cripple who was healed, and then the attendant effects that followed the healing of the cripple. Chapter four, how they persecuted them, they warned them not to preach, they said, we are preaching the name of Jesus Christ, and then they strictly charged them not to preach in their name.

[7:55] And then when they were let go, they went to their company, and they raised their voice and prayed that God give us boldness. And then they were filled with the Holy Ghost, verse 31, and they spoke the word of God boldly, and then grace was upon them.

[8:07] Then towards the end of chapter four, chapter four ended by Barnabas selling their land and bringing their money to their apostles. Barnabas is a Levite. Levites don't have land. So for a Levite to own a land is like somebody who has traveled from some country and has gotten British city and given it up.

[8:24] So for the Levite to have land for the sake of the gospel, to sell it and bring the money, not even to the apostles' hand, he just left it at their feet.

[8:36] Whatever you do with it, I don't value the money because I know it's for gospel. I mean, this is remarkable. So it became like a norm in the church. And Ananias and Sapphira, they were also trying to join the choir even though they were not interested in singing.

[8:49] Ananias and Sapphira joined the ushers just not because they're trying to help maintain order but just so that they can show how they can walk because they used to be models.

[9:02] So now the church is, I can't continue, they can't walk business. But the Holy Ghost is going to come after you. So Acts chapter five talks about Ananias. They lied to the Holy Ghost.

[9:13] They died and continued. And then by the shadow of Peter, that God was doing miracles, they persecuted them, they put them in prison, an angel came and took them out and then they whipped them in 39 and they rejoiced for suffering for Jesus.

[9:27] In Acts chapter six, there was confusion in their church because of food about widows. And so widows were not getting food. It reminded me of Genesis chapter one, how the devil came to the woman with food.

[9:38] In the beginning of the church, the devil used food related to women to bring confusion. Apostles said they had an, so the church, they appointed deacons.

[9:49] And when they appointed deacons, there was calm in the church, the church multiplied. Then Stephen, God used Stephen to do it. He was full of faith in the Holy Spirit. God used him. And then attention moved primarily from the apostles to Stephen by their enemies.

[10:02] And they persecuted him. And chapter seven is Stephen talking about the whole Old Testament. And then when he finished, they killed him. And then chapter eight talks about Philip went to Samaria and preached.

[10:15] Those who scattered, Philip went to Samaria and Peter and John came to Samaria, held them, laid hand, they received the Holy Ghost. Chapter nine, Saul. That's where Saul comes in.

[10:25] He was going to Damascus to kill people. And the Holy Ghost gave him a slap. He fell from his limousine and he became born again. Ananias went to pray for him. But later, part of chapter nine, there's a man who was sick and Peter went to pray for him and resurrected.

[10:38] He died actually and Peter prayed for him. So you should be familiar. And chapter 10 talks about the house of Cornelius, how Peter went to the house of Cornelius and Peter preached. He didn't want to go.

[10:49] He saw a vision after Cornelius saw an angel. Go and call Peter. Peter saw a vision and Peter, when he was thinking about what the meaning of this is, the Holy Ghost told him, this is nice, to be a Christian, you can hear when the Holy Ghost is talking to you.

[11:02] The Holy Ghost told him that three men are waiting downstairs for you. Go with them. And so he invited them to come and spend the night and then he went with them the next day. They came to Cornelius' house and he said, Cornelius, I've come.

[11:13] You sent for me. Cornelius said, it's no problem. I was fasting and on the ninth hour, I was praying, an angel appeared to me. He said, send for Peter. Then Peter, when he heard what Cornelius and I related, if he have a choice by the side of the truth, I perceive that God is no respect of person.

[11:28] Then from there, verse 36, he began to tell them about Jesus. He began to tell the house of Cornelius about Jesus and then how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and power.

[11:40] So you see, when you know the story, you know where at least. And that's for your Christian life. As you read the Bible, don't read it like a newspaper or a novel. Take your time. Assimilate it. Think about it.

[11:50] Ponder about it. Know with time you'll be familiar with where the stories are. Now, that's chapter 10. Chapter 11, after Peter prayed for them, there was a problem in Jerusalem because how can you go to a Jephthah's house?

[12:03] So he had to explain everything. Chapter 12, Herod was killing people. He went for Peter and then they prayed. Peter came out and the angel killed Herod in chapter 12. Then chapter 13 comes back with the Antioch church.

[12:16] Paul and Barnabas were sent out. It's a very long chapter to 52 or so and there was great joy in the place. Verse 52. And chapter 14 talks about they continue preaching in Lystra.

[12:27] God was doing miracles with them. The man who was born crippled. He received his healing. Then guess what happened? They wanted, they said, the gods have come down to us in human flesh. So they decided to bring the priests of Jupiter to come and offer bullocks or sacrifice to Paul.

[12:42] They rent their clothes. They said, please don't do this. We are also normal human beings. Guess what? Afterwards, the people who came from where Paul preached and they left, they came and polluted the hearts of those who now believe in so, so much.

[12:53] They believed in, they actually thought Paul and Barnabas were gods. They believed in them so much. Now the people, you have to be careful who you listen to. The people came from Lyconium or so and polluted their hearts, persuaded the people to understand that now the people who believe in Saul and Barnabas as gods, they turn against them and they stone them.

[13:13] They stone them and they stone Paul and Paul got up and went. In Acts chapter 15, that's where there was doctrinal problems in the church of Antioch. So it was solved by the church of Jerusalem and Barnabas and Saul towards the end of 15 went their own separate way in verse 38, they went their separate way.

[13:32] And then chapter 16, Timothy makes an appearance. They travel and they beat them, put them in jail. When they went to Macedonia, they went to cast out the devil. They beat them, put them in jail.

[13:42] But at midnight, Paul and Salah spread, verse 25, and there was a shaking in the prison. So you can tell the story. Chapter 17 is Mars Hill. When he met in Athens, the philosophers, he was arguing with them and talking to them.

[13:55] Chapter 18 continues. Priscilla and Aquila comes in the picture. So it's good to have, as time goes on, like Matthew chapter 1, you know what it should be about. As you grow, Matthew chapter 2.

[14:07] But systematically, have a great interest in what the Bible has got to say. It has a reflection on the quality of your Christian life. Now, why did I go into all this?

[14:19] Acts chapter 10. When I was studying, I told you I was studying and I saw something that got my attention. When Peter went to Cornelius' house and he began to preach about Jesus, Bible said, Peter spoke about how God sent a message from John the Baptist's baptism, verse 36, and Jesus Christ, God anointed with Holy Ghost and power and then he said they killed him.

[14:39] But God raised him, verse 40. And God raised him from the dead. Him God has raised on the third day and showed him, watch this, this is what got my attention. God raised him on the third day and showed him openly.

[14:51] So, Jesus' resurrection was no secret. Openly. It wasn't something hidden. But unfortunately, it didn't make it to the headlines. It didn't make it to the news. I thought that openly would include Facebook, social media, so there's no argument.

[15:06] You don't struggle to preach about the resurrection. But it wasn't openly, even though it was openly, it was closed openly. That's what I saw. Look at the next verse.

[15:17] He said, not to all the people. He showed him openly, but not to all the people. Why? Why? I actually understand God. Show it to all the people so they won't persecute the church.

[15:32] Jesus is resurrected. Those who say, if I don't see, I want to have empirical evidence. You can miss God. Because God does not save by intellectual argument. He saves by preaching, through the preaching.

[15:45] When the preaching, preaching can go straight into your heart. Anointed preaching has a way of locating your heart and capturing your heart. And then when your heart is captured, the choice is yours. You can either choose to believe or behave differently.

[15:59] You can either choose to accept or not accept. That's the junction of salvation. salvation. So it says that God showed him openly, not to all the people, but, so when Jesus was resurrected, he was only showed to people who were specifically chosen by God.

[16:18] God said, you will see him, you will see him, you will see him, you will see him, you will see him, but openly. So they saw him openly, but a lot of the people didn't see him openly. Only those who were chosen. Why did God choose them? Watch this.

[16:28] This is very interesting. Showed him openly to people who were chosen before by God. before all these things, God has chosen some people. By God, even to those of us, Peter now talking, even to us, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead, he was shown to us.

[16:45] Why? Look at the next verse. This is very interesting. And he commanded us to preach to the people and to testify that it is he. Ah, I like this one. Tell them, tell these people listening to you that Jesus is the one who was prophesied about, who was ordained by God to be the judge of the living and the dead.

[17:05] In other words, tell them, go and prove to them that I am the Messiah. So he, watch this, after resurrection, he shows himself to people and tells the people that now that you have seen me, go and tell people that Jesus, the one who was crucified, he is the Messiah.

[17:20] He is the one who is going to be the living and the judge. Why didn't Jesus himself show himself to everybody? That's not the way God works. God works through preaching or believed preaching. So he showed himself only to a selected few so that the selected few will go and tell people that Jesus is alive and now they can choose to believe or not.

[17:40] They can choose to believe or not. So that is why when you saw in Acts chapter 2, Peter made, watch this, his death was not anything nobody knew.

[17:51] It was headline news. His burial was headline news and his lifetime, his miracle was headline. It was everywhere. It was trending. So Jesus' miracles were, everybody knew about it and then they knew that this trendy man was killed.

[18:08] They also knew about it. They knew that this trendy man was buried. They knew about it. But what they never knew is this trendy man was resurrected. So the assignment of the church is to prove to the world and tell the world that Jesus is alive and not that he's just alive, but he is the one that God has set aside amongst all to save.

[18:31] Salvation is found in no, none other by Jesus. How do you know? Because he's the only one who was able to resurrect. That shows that he's the one. All right. So Peter, Peter's preaching was targeted to proving that Jesus is the one by the resurrection.

[18:48] So the resurrection was a proof that he is the Messiah. The resurrection was a proof that Jesus is the savior of the world. There's no other. There's no other person who can save outside of Jesus.

[19:01] How can you say that? But show me anyone who resurrected. That's why some religions and some courts want to undermine the resurrection of Jesus. They will say he never resurrected.

[19:11] They said any religion or any group of people who say Jesus never resurrected are operating knowingly or unknowingly as a court and they are not working for God. salvation cannot be found anywhere or in any kind of teaching and philosophy that die in place or denies the resurrection of Christ.

[19:32] So study your scriptures. You see that the apostles' teaching was targeted or the focus of their teaching was the resurrection to prove that Jesus is the Messiah, the son of the living God.

[19:45] Because it was the resurrection that authenticates the fact that he is the son of God and he is the Messiah. Without the resurrection he is ordinary. He is normal like any other person. Everybody who died didn't come.

[19:57] You too couldn't come so what is special about you? No. And Jesus was not the only one who worked miracles. Peter worked miracles. Moses worked miracles. Elijah worked fantastic miracles.

[20:10] In the Bible in the older miracles were not new in the New Testament. It was already happening but the greatest concentration of miracles was in the New Testament. And even that he wasn't the only one who worked miracles.

[20:22] So Peter said he is the one who worked miracles. They killed him because he said he's God. They said he wasn't so they killed him. And God said I'll prove you wrong by raising him to let you know he's the God. And they said this Jesus God has raised and seated God has raised up which we did you see that we are witnesses of the fact that he is resurrected.

[20:41] They are witnesses. Now look at the next verse. He said having them be exalted to the right hand of God and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit. Now this is where it's very likely if you are not careful I've been in church a while not too long but I've been in church a while or since I've been I mean I had a kind of Christian family background so very familiar with Christian stories.

[21:07] Then I became born again and then now I've spent much my time in church listening to good preachings and I realized that not much emphasis has been given or placed on the exalted Jesus or Jesus in session the seated Jesus because the nature of the gospel focuses so much on his human living his death and his burial and resurrection.

[21:35] So most of our miracles are hinged. What qualifies us to be in is the gospel which talks about he lived he died he buried and resurrected.

[21:47] And so much of when I was growing much of Christian life has been centered around this message and a little not much attention has been given to the fact that he's alive and he's reigning and seated on the throne.

[22:01] But in Acts chapter 2 this is very important in Acts chapter 2 verse 33 it says that therefore being exalted where? To the right hand of God and not just exalted the Bible talks about he was seated that exaltation means he was seated Ephesians chapter 1 verse 20 he was seated Hebrews chapter 12 verse 2 he was seated on the right Hebrews chapter 8 verse 1 he was seated on the right hand of majesty Acts chapter 7 verse 55 56 I see him standing on the right hand so Jesus Christ was exalted and according to Ephesians chapter 1 verse 20 he was seated at the right hand of the father he's seated he's seated now when you say he's seated that means he's now in a different role operating from a position of power and authority it's very important when we say parliament is in session he has a seat in parliament the judge came and sat in his ruling seat too you know so Jesus is seated and seated is not relaxing he's seated now rain now watch this there is a direct correlation between his ascension and his enthronement he's seated now and there is a stronger relationship correlation between his sitting that's called theological terms session he's in session he's been in session and what is happening on earth in the church not in politics not everywhere but in the church so now watch this look at verse 33 again him being exalted therefore being exalted to the right hand of God and having received from the watch this so he was exalted

[23:50] I mean seated at the right hand of God he didn't just sit down when he sat down he collected he received something after sitting he received something what did he receive he received that promise what promise are we talking about what Joel what Joel spoke about that in the last days something is about to happen on earth Joel spoke about it was a promise but Jesus had to be seated before that can be a reality so when he's seated permit me to use this in a in a light-hearted way I can't do that let me give it to me now he won't talk to the father like that but when he seated he took he received he who received the promise Jesus having received the promise the promise of the Holy Spirit he received the promise now please watch the terminologies very carefully he was exalted after resurrection he sat down and then so resurrection was not the end of the story at least

[24:58] Matthew Mark and John sort of and even Luke but John Matthew Mark and John ends the story with resurrection that's why I'm saying that a lot of emphasis have been put on the the earthly work of Jesus and less have been put on the heavenly work of Jesus meanwhile the church exists purely because of the heavenly work of Jesus but he had to do the earthly work to bring the church into a place then he went and took the heavenly gift and then poured the spirit on the church but without the resurrection without forgiveness of sin how can God pour his spirit on sin and God because he's a righteous God and a God of justice needs has to he definitely has to else it will be miscarriage of justice and he will not be a righteous judge he has to deal with sin

[25:58] God is too holy one of the reasons why Jesus before he went to the cross he said father in Matthew chapter 26 verse 37 38 somewhere there father if it is possible may this cap come pass what cap what cap is he talking about but you said you came to die didn't Peter tell you far be from me that you should die and you told him Satan get behind me Matthew chapter 16 verse 23 verse 22 21 22 from that time he began to tell his disciples how he had to go to Jerusalem and be arrested by the elders and be Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and the chief priest and the scribe and be killed and he raised again and he told them this thing the Peter said no no no no no no this not going happen no no no no this no what are you talking about this this will not happen Jesus come on I'm sure he might have the G

[26:59] G G come on G G G G no way and Peter he had foot and mouth disease he was always first to speak and always first to take the step foot and mouth disease Peter when he says everybody was quiet to wondering what is this Peter spokesperson no G what what are you talking about I left my business my traveling business I was a fisherman successful fisherman I left my dad we left everything and followed who you going to die God forbid man God forbid man you not going to die you not go talk about he just took you and said Satan get behind me Satan get behind me now you someone said don't die you said Satan get behind me how come now you are praying to God that if it's possible let this come back all the disciples do you know how they killed

[28:07] Stephen in fact in Acts chapter 20 verse 24 Paul says that the Holy Spirit was showing and he said now I'm going from verse 22 he said I don't know the things that are ahead of me I don't know what I'm going to Jerusalem and I don't know the things that will happen to me except the Holy Spirit has been indicated every city I go the Holy Spirit will speak and say that there's affliction and bones waiting for in Jerusalem so the Holy Spirit has made it very clear when I go to Jerusalem I was so far over there then Paul said verse 24 however none of these things move me Paul knew he was going to die for Jesus but he said I can't be bothered I'm not bothered I'm not bothered why I want to fulfill my assignment I'm not bothered I want to fulfill my course that I might finish he said verse 24 that I might finish I might finish my race with joy he said none of these things move me neither counts my life dear even Paul said I'm not afraid I'm going how come Jesus he was praying before the cross father if it's possible let this camp no camp pass what do you think he was afraid of theologians have always thought thought about this is it the death it wasn't the death he was too holy you will not suffer your holy one

[29:24] Jesus is the only sinless human being that ever walked on the earth he was too pure he was so holy Bible said he was tempted at all points just like us but yet without sin yet without sin yet without sin he was sinless he told his enemies or his opposers which of you in John chapter 8 47 somewhere there which of you can accuse me of wrongdoing wow which of you Pontius said listen I've examined this guy I don't find any fault in him you guys show me what he has done Jesus was faultless he was without sin he was the holy one of God in Luke chapter 1 verse 35 the angel told Mary therefore that holy one who is to be born of you shall be called the son of God he's the holy one the demon said what have we got to do with you oh holy one of God they knew David said you will not suffer your holy one to see corruption Jesus was impeccable

[30:25] Jesus was sin so why because he's a holy one what holiness cannot stand is sin and for the first time Jesus was going on the cross so that you and I our sins will be put on him Jesus said if it's possible I don't know how I can take this sin my nature is not compatible with sin that was the struggle for Jesus he couldn't have gone happily because he was opposite to sin so then by virtue of his holy nature necessitated his objection to sin coming to him so Jesus was without sin he went on the cross he said if it's possible let this come to pass they killed him they ended his life but because he didn't have sin death could not hold him and on the third day here comes the triophant king on the third day on the third day on the third day on the third day when he went to the temple to go and whip those who were selling and buying in the temple in

[31:39] John chapter 2 they asked him what gives you the right to do what you are doing what gives you the authority what give you the right and he said give us a sign to let us know why you do this thing he said destroy this temple and I will raise it in three days wow I will raise it in three days when he spoke about it they thought he meant the temple they are familiar with the physical temple which hands have made he was talking about his temple the temple of his body which hands cannot make if you destroy this body I will raise the body of Christ and yes it says that they understood that after he resurrected in the verse 23 yeah he said therefore when he had been risen from the dead his disciples remembered that he said this to them and they believed the scriptures and the word which

[32:43] Jesus had said on the third day he resurrected because you cannot he said to them I going to the death they will kill him but on the third day I rise in John chapter 10 verse 18 he said that no one takes my life from me I lay it down oh I like that you can't say that you can't say that human life is very frail nobody is in charge but Jesus said listen I'm not like everybody I'm in charge he said I am the only one who can lay my life down and then I take it again wow shout hallelujah so Jesus Christ when he had resurrected and he was exalted to the right hand of the majesty I like that phrase Hebrews chapter 8 verse 1 or so the majesty on high wow sat at the right I like that one he said that who is seated at the right hand of the throne of majesty in heaven and

[33:45] I think NIV of the throne of majesty on high majesty on high say majesty he sat at the throne of majesty doing what in Acts chapter 2 verse 33 he said and having received the promise of the father watch this this is the point he received the promise of the father and what did he do with it he poured ah there is a strong correlation between his session and what is happening in the church you can never have church if Jesus had not sat in session and what does that mean the fact that he is sitting in session is what makes the church the body of Christ so if you touch the church you are inviting the wrath of God oh yes God will not take it lightly if you touch the church you might think he has forgotten he hasn't forgotten even one of the greatest apostles called Paul the greatest apostle because in first

[34:48] Timothy chapter one verse 13 and verse 14 he said he persecuted the church he was a blasphemer a persecutor an insolent man he fought against the church he fought against the church he persecuted the church so guess what even though God used him mightily when God called him he told Araneas in Acts chapter 9 that go I've chosen him and I'll show him how many things he will suffer for my name why because of the way he made people suffer in the church even though he's going to do the church work he will also suffer Paul suffered if you touch the church you will never go unpunished can I say that again there was a guy he was having political fun killing believers he killed a whole apostle James he just executed and he realized that this thing was politically good it was giving him political leverage so he proceeded and went for Peter and the church prayed for

[35:51] Peter and Peter was brought out of prison but you would think God has forgotten about what this guy did to James one day he was in session he was also in session he was in session Herod arrayed in royal apparel sat on his throne and gave an oration wow see when you are in session people think you are invincible people think you are the best people think you are untouchable but you are still man you are still you are still clay fit our prime minister is still clay fit our king our queen was and king is still clay fit the bishops every bishop is clay fit pastors are clay fit some of us are clay is even more every human being is bad clay fit it doesn't even matter how my God is using you you are still clay fit that's why when you find out disappointing news about a fellow

[36:53] Christian brother that he has done this please remember just concentrate on yourself because that's clay fit and you are clay you are clay you will not fall but concentrate if anyone is overtaken by faults in Galatians chapter 6 verse 1 you who are spiritual restore such a one in the spirit of meekness that's interesting he even put it there in the spirit of meekness don't think that's for me I can fall to something like this no be meek help somebody with meekness help somebody I know you saw him you saw her you actually saw it you have it on video where it was and you expect something better from such a person how can such a person do this but you are using the word person yeah you are using the word person you are using the word person it's a person it's a human being so such a human being so is so a human being the other time I was preaching I said the rice we buy we all see when you're a believer you don't buy rice from different shops it's the same Tesco the same place in fact after you became born again you're on fire for Jesus you still have the same appetite for jollof and pounded yam the same same clay feet clay feet you still need

[38:13] I was teaching I was teaching it doesn't matter you can build a golden restaurant you still need a place of convenience inside there but Jesus but Jesus but my Jesus but my Jesus he's the only eternal one when he died and he roused up he sat on the throne of majesty now talking about Herod Herod was in session he forgot he had clay feet he said Liz I can kill anyone I want to this is what I'm talking about yeah I can't kill it's interesting everybody's gonna go so let's be careful how we are clamoring on things holding on to material things the Bible says the world and all that is in it is passing away the world and all that is in it is passing let me try and get back to my text so they had clay feet by for God and the people said started telling hey he's God he's God he's God listen let me take this opportunity to educate somebody when

[39:22] God uses somebody to significantly change your life it's not fake you cannot help but be grateful to God for the person and a certain type of admiration builds in your heart respect that's what the Bible says how beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel but because the world don't understand church life and God kind of life they think that only people who should be celebrated should be celebrities of the world but sometimes when you encounter a genuine man of God and you know that his life has changed you actually celebrate them more than the others but the world become problem and so in healthy Christian organizations like ours they begin to say you're worshipping the pastor I think that is quite an overstatement I mean they come and kneel down before the pastor it's just when people express honor to vessels of God the world have a problem with it however the leaders who also receive honor must be careful you do what you must be careful because if they forget that they are clear feet and think yeah

[40:44] I'm the one I'm the one I'm the one hey praise me I'm the one God said I will not share my glory with anyone God said in Isaiah chapter 40 he will not share if you touch his glory he will come after you if you touch his tithe he will come after you he said the tithe is mine he said the tithe is mine he said the glory is mine then vengeance is mine these three things it belongs to God don't take in your hands if you take it you have taken something that belongs to God and you will take it lightly I don't know who I'm talking to but God will fight for you so when you're a man of God or when you have the chance to stand before people and people respect you people honor you don't let you enter your heart men of God are different from political figures or even worldly celebrities worldly celebrities so men of God should carry themselves with a level of meekness always reminding themselves that they are very clear and had it not been for the grace of God who will celebrate you

[41:51] Herod forgot because he has killed an apostle he didn't know that God has him forgotten the system of heaven the computer system of heaven still had an issue pending it's pending a killer of an apostle is still pending so guess what when people began to give him say he's God he's God this is the voice of a God and not the voice of a mere man NIV not the voice of a mere man so as they praise him it enters his head and watch this he failed to give the glory to God Bible says that immediately the angel who came to release Peter from prison he didn't know that he had a pending case in heaven immediately the angel of the Lord struck him and this is very strange because he did not give glory to God and guess what he was eaten by worms and died yeah you tell me it's not fair tell me it was fair yes normally when people die they die and the worms eat them this man the worm eat him and he died why because of what he was doing to the church and two he didn't give glory to God his position has entered his head you bought a new car it has entered your head yeah because of the school you attended it has entered your head you can't mingle with some people in church you are better go on you let it enter your head let it enter your head because of your background your class system

[43:30] I don't I don't I don't like sitting here setting type of people in church I didn't like people in church hey you you don't you don't know what you're talking about you don't know what you're talking about tread softly tread softly tread somebody shout hallelujah hallelujah let's go back to the text so when he sat in session Jesus Christ he sat in session having received from the father the promise the promise of the Holy Spirit he poured watch this this is very important he poured out this what's the this the promise he received is the Holy Spirit he poured out this which you now see and hear so all the things you said you had that got your attention this is where it's coming from Jesus being the Messiah he resurrected and the light didn't end at resurrection he sat in session when he sat in session he collected something from the father and there's a direct correlation between his session and what is happening in the church he received it and poured it on the church which you now see now here then he went back to talk about David again to highlight the resurrection more then the verse 36 he says men and brethren

[44:53] Israel let it be known to you assuredly that that God has made you see did you notice the focus of his teaching when you quoted from Joel you might think that that's what he's going to stay on he stayed on it by pulling Jesus out of it he explained Jesus from Joel he explained Jesus from Joel and the Jesus he explained from Joel it's not just the crucified Jesus but ascended Jesus who is having a manifestation on the earth watch this the church is the manifestation of the ascended Jesus the seated Jesus watch this it's very important the church is the manifestation of seated Jesus on earth he's seated by his own earth so whatever is happening on earth in the church the church itself is the reflection of the heavenly Jesus in Ephesians chapter 1 is someone getting what I'm saying in Ephesians chapter 1 verse 19 the spirit that you will know the power that works towards us which raised

[45:56] Christ Jesus and verse 20 and seated him raised Christ Jesus we worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in heavenly places watch this far above principalities and powers and might and dominion and every name that is named not only in this world but also that which has come okay so what what did he do and he put all things under Jesus' feet and watch this when he starts in session he's in charge everything that he put under his feet and gave him this heavenly Jesus was transmitted to be the head of an earthly body he gave him to be the head of all things to the church look at the next verse which is his body the church is his body on earth touch the church and you have tempered with his body Herod is a warning to you so that you will know that the most high rules in the affairs of men the heavenly Jesus the heavenly Jesus he sat there and how do we know he's seated his beat us that's what you see and hear so let it be known to you that surely this Jesus whom you crucified the same Jesus not a different one anybody who presents

[47:17] Jesus who didn't die is a fake Jesus so there are some religion they also say they have Jesus ask them did that Jesus die if that Jesus in their book didn't die on the cross it's a fake Jesus it's different from the Jesus we are talking about let me tell you those who are in other religions please for goodness sake can you concentrate and do your own religion don't cross carpet and try and steal Jesus and say he's the same Jesus in your book he's not the same Jesus because the one in your book didn't die he didn't die if he died where is he the one here he died and his death was no secret it was open just open it wasn't fake and he resurrected and when he resurrected it was in the end of the story he went into heaven physically he went into heaven he went into heaven and what did he go to do in heaven he went and sat in session and when he sat in session is that the end of the story then he started working on earth so that's the pure gospel the pure gospel never ends with the resurrection the pure gospel ends with what is going on in the church now because Jesus is actually working in the church so God has made this same Jesus whom you crucified both Lord and Messiah when they heard this they were cut to the heart and they said good preaching cuts in Acts chapter 5 verse 31 they were cut they were pricked in fact they were translated there and him God has exalted to the right hand prince and savior to give repentance to his own let's go verse 33

[49:10] I'm looking for verse 33 rather when they heard this they were furious and plotted to kill him when you read I think the New American standard version or English it tells you how before they were furious they were something it's like they were cut now that cut there means like a stab something stabbed their heart and they got upset with the preacher it's normal for fallen men to be upset with preachers don't join online campaign against preachers your family will pay for it they were cut to the heart they were cut to the heart when Stephen finished preaching in Acts chapter 7 verse 54 when he finished preaching when he preached the Bible says that when he heard these things they were cut to the heart and then what they gnashed their teeth they gnashed their teeth intense hatred and anger same preaching others were cut to their hearts they said men and brethren what shall we do so there are people who will be cut to the heart listening they will say pastor what should I do and they will say

[50:22] I don't like this pastor I don't like this pastor I don't like the way he talks I don't like that big great Bible why is he holding the Bible like that is it your hand and then two is it your Bible it's my own Bible and my own hand I'm free so one group of people will be cut to the heart they said what shall we do Luke chapter 3 verse 10 the same thing John the Baptist he preached the people who said what shall we do what shall we do when good gospel comes and God is going to save you one of the things that comes in your heart is what should I do in Acts chapter 16 verse 30 the jailer he said to Paul and Silas he said that the jailer says what must I do to be saved there's always something to do to receive salvation there's always something so when they were cut to their hearts they said men and brethren what shall we do Peter said there's something to do let me show you I need to run up now let me show you Peter says that you have to first of all repent repentance is change of mind that produces change of direction repentance means change your mind the way you are thinking the way you are assessing things about God about church about money about boys about girls about family about things change your mind repent that is where for God to do something for you it must start with repentance repentance is a very important thing that dominated the skyline of the New Testament when it comes to what God will do for people

[51:51] God will reach out to you but if he's going to come to you he requires repentance from you first now what necessitates God to bring forgiveness of sins watch this according to Ephesians chapter 1 verse 7 what makes God bring salvation and forgiveness of sins is the redemptive work of Christ so the redemptive work of Christ on the cross is what makes God willing to forgive sins from the path of God is the redemption of Christ that makes him bring forgiveness but on the path of man it is our repentance your repentance is what opens you up with what redemption has to offer Jesus can do everything on the cross if we don't repent it will never be applicable to us repent so Peter they said what should we do Peter said repent somebody say repent or say it loud again say it for the last time in Luke chapter 4 verse 47 Jesus said repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name yeah

[52:55] Luke 24 47 it says that repentance will be preached and repentance and forgiveness remission to remit something take away of sins will be and in the scripture you will never see forgiveness of sin S-I-N is forgiveness of sins because you have a lot right it's not only one sin God forgives all sins hallelujah all sins so it says that remission of sins should be preached in his name in Acts chapter 20 verse 21 talks about how repentance to the Gentiles repentance is a testifying to the Jews and to the Greeks repentance towards God and faith repentance towards God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ in Acts chapter 26 verse 20 Paul talking about his story he says that God has told him to preach repentance throughout all the regions of Judea and Galatia that they should repent people should repent and tend to God how do you tend to God repentance has two aspects the first aspect is change of mind which produces a you turn and then you turn towards God it's not like changing your mind and be there but you change your mind and then begin to move towards God so there are two aspects of repentance the changing of the mind which produces you can't move towards God without changing your mind and if you change your mind and you are just there it's not repentance repentance means you change your mind and you start moving in a different direction towards God the things that we are supposed to repent from is not only our sins and our conduct because somebody asked me

[54:39] I've not done anything bad so I don't need to repent to be one again I've not done anything bad listen it's not about that it's not only our sins and our conduct but we also have to repent from the corruption of the world that is with us and I wrote it down you need to hear this it's very important we need to repent from our sins yes and from our wrongdoings but most times we think it's only sins and wrongdoings it's also from the world and it's corruption and God we have to repent from God forsaking lifestyle the God forsaking lifestyle repent from it so you might not be a criminal you might not have been doing something bad you're such a nice person everybody likes you everybody's your friend and you're such a good thing but you are forsaking God your choices were not made with God in mind there are a lot of people in our days who make choices and make decisions for them to look very good they make decisions with man in mind but not God in mind listen don't let anybody deceive you

[55:47] Christianity is not about being nice to people I want you to understand that it's more centered on Christ this whole thing is about Christ don't let anyone deceive you it's about love love love how you love people and you care about people a bishop I had a bishop many years ago sitting on prime TV and saying that this Christianity thing is just about how you treat your neighbors how you treat your neighbors even Christianity is not about souls it's not about souls it's about him it's about Christ it's about Christ it's about Christ if Christ if Christ wants souls then you do souls it's not about souls it's not about people it's not about bread and neither is it about demons as I said you don't believe in demons if you don't believe the existence of demons your theology is not correct because Jesus spoke about them and he dealt with them so demons are real but he seated far about principalities and powers and we are seated together with Christ in heavenly places so repentance means a youth turning around changing your mind from the

[57:00] God forsaking lifestyle tell somebody it looks like this one it's you they are talking about remember they preached about Christ and when they preached about Christ watch this they said if you receive this Christ you are preaching if you believe in him you'll receive the Holy Spirit they preached about Christ for the people to receive the Holy Spirit another subject for next week they preached Christ but what did the people receive the Holy Spirit Jesus is the defining factor in what we call Christianity your proximity to Jesus your relationship with Jesus your enjoyment of Jesus yesterday our Bible reading 1 Corinthians after 16 I like the way it ends it said if anyone does not love the Lord Jesus Christ let him be anath anath it's this whole thing is about Jesus Christianity what's Christianity Christianity is Jesus and Jesus is Christianity Christianity that's why you can't afford not to know what Jesus who he is and understand this subject of Jesus

[58:04] Christ it's Jesus not even doctrine it's Jesus they preached Jesus and the ascended one the church exists why because of the heavenly Jesus never forget this so we can never be in church and forget about Jesus everything we are his body I mean the church is his body in the Bible there are quite a few portraits or imagery the Bible employs to describe the church it says like a family God being our father a vine Jesus being the vine and we being the branches this image talks about a flock Jesus being the shepherd God being the shepherd the Lord is my shepherd and we being the flock it talks about what they call it a kingdom he being the king we are the citizens and every imagery the Bible employs to describe the church is replicated in the Old Testament for the Jews and God there's only one imagery that the Old

[59:07] Testament believers or the Jews in the Old Testament were never which is the body the church being the body of Christ the church is actually Christ here Christ here Christ on earth so when someone said I hear people have been passing statements like I don't do church I just do Christ ah you see how ignorant you are no you are not here but someone listening can you explain what is church how do you define church you see the problem is your lack of understanding you don't even know what the church is the church listen we don't go to church we don't I don't go to church if I wish I could title the message I don't go to church I am the church you are the church we are we are a church we are the church church is not something that happens on a Sunday or once a week no church is our life we are wherever we are we have the church life because of the Christ what's the church

[60:10] Christ in you Christ in me Christ in him Christ in her Christ in them that's the definition of the church so if Christ is not in you you are not part of the church did you receive something give Jesus your biggest praise hallelujah thank you for listening to this message by david entry we pray you have been revived towards god you can connect with david entry on all relevant social media platforms including instagram and linkedin you can also hear more messages from david entry on all relevant streaming platforms and the carriage church don't forget to like and share the message be blessed you
