[0:00] Thank you for tuning into this message by David Entry. Every true revival is a product of the strong preaching of God's Word. May you receive a word from this message that will spark a revival in you.
[0:13] Acts chapter 3. Thank you, Jesus. I want to read from verse 6. Then Peter said, Severan gold have I known, such as I have given I thee, in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
[0:28] Rise up and walk. And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up. And immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And he leaping up stood and walked and entered with them into the temple, walking and leaping and praising God.
[0:47] And all the people saw him walking and praising God. And they knew that it was he which sat for arms at the beautiful gates of the temple.
[0:57] And they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him. And as the lame man which was healed held Peter and John, all the people ran together unto them in the porch that is called Solomon's porch.
[1:20] That's called Solomon's. And when Peter saw him, he answered and said to the people, He men of Israel, Why marvel ye at this? Or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power and holiness we had made this man walk?
[1:38] The God of Abraham and of Isaac and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his son Jesus, whom ye delivered up and denied him in the presence of Pilate when he was determined to let him go.
[1:55] But ye denied the Holy One and the just and desired a murderer to be granted unto you and killed the Prince of Life, whom God has raised from the dead.
[2:08] And his name through faith in his name has made this man strong, whom ye see and know. Yea, the faith which is by him has given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
[2:25] Here ends the reading of God's word. Let's pray. Father, thank you for giving us the privilege to come together, to hear your word taught.
[2:36] As your word is taught, Holy Spirit, open us up to aspects of your word and dimensions of God, which naturally we couldn't have known. Give us what is outside of ourself.
[2:48] Reveal the truth of Christ to us. Help us to know you better and serve you better and walk more closely with you. As your word is taught, let the life that issues out of your presence enter us.
[3:03] Whoever is here in your word teach, let the teaching of your word generate the life of God in everybody to strengthen us to walk with you to glorify your name. We pray that less sicknesses go.
[3:15] We pray that less confusion live. Let discouragement go. Let despondency be overridden by faith and courage in the Holy One. We thank you that you are the Holy One and the Righteous One.
[3:29] In Jesus' name. Amen. We saw that they went up to the temple at the hour of prayer. Prayer was such an essential aspect of their lives and for that matter, ineffective, thriving Christian life.
[3:48] It's one thing you cannot outsource. You have to be, we have to practice personal prayer. There are people who are very super spiritual or very over the top and so they want to pray five hours every day.
[4:08] If you don't pray five hours every day like them, they think you are not spiritual. So you have to pray more and more and more and more five hours a day or some people used to say, I pray eight hours every day.
[4:20] But sometimes it's not sustainable. If you have a job, it's not sustainable to pray eight hours a day. How long can you keep that for?
[4:31] It's better to pray one hour a day for three years than to pray eight hours a day for one month. Consistently. So you can tell that prayer was so essential to them.
[4:43] Peter and John went up together at the time of prayer. At the time of prayer, they better be in a place of prayer than somewhere else. Because prayer is so important. Yesterday I was teaching, I was explaining that spirits are super fast.
[4:58] So if someone stands here with a gun and shoots a bullet at the speaker and there's an angel in Australia and he's supposed to intercept the bullet, an angel can move from Australia, come here, intercept the bullet before the bullet gets here and go back to Australia.
[5:14] or he can come and go before even the bullet gets here. That's how swift angels are. In the realm of the spirit, distance is not a problem. But when you pray, you move into that kind of realm that nothing is too far to tackle when it comes to the area of prayer.
[5:32] You don't even have to be in that place specifically, particularly. When you pray, you cover a broad area in life, broad area of matters that physically is not possible to do.
[5:45] So it's necessary to pray. Sometimes we are tired, but you can't afford to be so tired you are not praying. It will affect you. If you don't pray, you don't allow God to pray it in your life.
[6:01] So the Bible says that God wanted to bless his people, bless the land, but he said, I need my people to pray. So it's important that they came to Jesus in Luke chapter 11, verse 1, and he said, teach us not how to pray.
[6:19] For most of the time, we read it, teach us how to pray. But the text didn't say teach us how to pray. It says that teach us to pray. There's the how to pray and the act of praying.
[6:32] The ability, teach us to develop that discipline, that tenacity of prayer. Because it's so important, not once did they ever come to him and ask him to teach them to preach.
[6:44] He said, teach us to pray. And prayer is so important. Peter, you remember in Acts chapter 6, we haven't gotten there, but you should be familiar with that text, because we've read it last week, last month.
[6:57] Peter, when there was complaining in the church because the Grecian widows were not getting adequate supply of the food, memory was growing in the congregation. the apostles said it is not desirable that we should leave, it's not desirable that we should leave the word of God and serve tables.
[7:15] So their fundamental job was to focus on the word. Because the word, the strength of the word in a congregation will determine how immunized the congregation is against the onslaught of hell.
[7:29] The efficacy of your prayer is at the mercy of your word, how your word contains. Satan doesn't fear your prayer, he fears the word in your prayer. So Peter said that let's focus, we don't want to be distracted from the fundamental, the main thing.
[7:48] So the apostle said it is not desirable, it's not appropriate, it's not right that we should leave the word of God and serve tables. So get some people who can focus on that primarily.
[8:01] So our primary assignment will be the ministry of the word. But see how in the verse 4 it said, but we will give ourselves continually, not just the ministry of the word. If you know that was the fundamental assignment, the ministry of the word must always be undergirded by prayer.
[8:18] Continual prayer. Your continual prayer is more important, gives you an advantage in life than your sporadic once in a while when crisis comes, long prayers.
[8:30] When crisis comes then you lock yourself in a room and pray, I pray, I pray. If I don't pray, Zeta will make mess of me. Listen. Don't pray because Zeta will make mess of you.
[8:47] But it's true, though. But don't pray because it makes. Prayer must be like air that we breathe for the believer. You got to pray just to make it a day. We have to pray.
[8:58] Peter and Paul and John were going to pray and then the man asked for arm. I took my time to explain it every morning. It's a silver and gold Havana. We are not rich. We might not be rich in silver.
[9:10] We might not be rich in gold. But we are rich in the name. And so they mentioned the name of Jesus on him and the Bible says Peter said, first of all, look on us.
[9:21] They looked at him and they said, look on us. Just keep your focus on us. If it were some of the modern day people who are looking for reasons to accuse pastors online who say they are Christians, they will say, there's no need to tell people to look at you.
[9:37] Tell them, look on Jesus. Look at Jesus. You are not important. Look at Jesus. Peter said, look on us. We are the one Jesus has sent. Look on us. We are his authorized agents.
[9:48] Look on us. Then he says, silver and gold Havana, such as I have given thee. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, rise up and walk. Peter held his hand and I think the guy was still sitting there because he wasn't sure he could walk.
[10:03] He thought he would need physio. But Peter said, you know, when God created Adam, he wasn't a baby. Adam was not created a baby. He was created an adult man who knew how to walk already.
[10:18] There was a lot packed into making of Adam. His body didn't have to develop. He was formed, developed. He knew how to walk. He knew how to talk. His teeth were in place already.
[10:29] Look at how long it took you to even develop one teeth. So, he said, then he held him, raised him, pulled him up and immediately, Bible says that, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.
[10:47] Where did they come from? That's the miracle. That's the first miracle in the church. This was the first recorded miracle in the church after the church was born. This is very important.
[10:59] Acts chapter 3 and chapter 4 are quite important. They record the first miracle in the church and the first persecution on the church. So, the first miracle brought the first persecution. When you study the book of Acts very carefully, you realize any time there is a major move of God, there is also a major attack, a major persecution that comes.
[11:18] So, if we are expecting to see revival, we shouldn't be surprised if some major thing tries to come at us, but the gates of hell cannot prevail against the church.
[11:31] So, he held them and then the miracle happened and the man, it took him out and immediately his ankles and his feet and ankle received strength.
[11:41] Verse 8 says that, and he leaping up, stood. They held him and he also, for some reason, listen to what happened. He held him by the hand, put him up and the miracle happened, not when he prayed, but when he took the action.
[11:57] Yes, you are praying for your wife. Take an action. Just take an action. You are looking for a job?
[12:11] How many jobs have you applied for? But you are rather in the room fasting and praying. After the prayer, you see, when you see Jesus said, peace be still, he prayed and people received strength.
[12:26] This one, after the prayer, nothing happened. So, they said, nothing has happened already, so let's enforce it. And as soon as he held him, he says that, right, and lifted him up because he's crippled.
[12:41] Lame means crippled. He can't walk. Those days, there were no support systems, no disabled badges, nothing. No disabled access, nothing. So he couldn't go inside. He's been sitting there and couldn't go because people are moving.
[12:54] He couldn't go inside. So they held him by the hand and lifted him up and as soon as they lifted him up, their feet and their ankles received strength. Wow.
[13:07] Their feet and their ankles didn't receive strength after their prayer. They received strength after their action. And the feet received strength.
[13:18] And then when they received strength, he was able to leap and stoop. So, verse 8 says that, verse 8 says that when he received strength in his bones and he, leaping up, stoop.
[13:32] When they pulled him, he cooperated with them. So they pulled him and he received strength and he also leaped and stood. Hallelujah.
[13:44] He stood and walked without physiotherapy. And this is the bit I like most. some of us like the miracle. May I like this one?
[13:57] The resultant effect of the miracle made him for the first time be able to enter with them into the temple. He's always dead at the gate.
[14:08] He was like a fixture. If they were doing a postcard of the temple, they would have fainted him. They were added into it. He was like a fixture at the gate of the temple. If anyone is coming to the temple and they don't see you, they feel something is wrong.
[14:22] What's wrong? Because they knew he was assigned that the temple is in session. People are inside. He comes early now before people start coming. He was a major sign.
[14:33] For the first time, he wasn't at the gate begging. He is now also a worshiper. He was also going with them into the temple. simply because he made anointed vessels.
[14:50] Anointed, their anointing turned him from a beggar into a worshiper. Hallelujah! He followed them into the temple. If people have, people who do live on TikTok and Instagram, sorry, they'll say, but did you need to follow them?
[15:10] Just walk with God yourself. Why are you following them? It comes natural. When God uses people to change your life, you don't have a choice but to appreciate them and honor them and love.
[15:25] It comes natural. In fact, I was wondering when I was reading, I was wondering how he did it. He held both of them with their hands. He didn't leave Peter. He didn't leave John. He was holding their hands.
[15:38] He was holding both of them because these guys have to, so, he didn't, they didn't have to ask him about who was responsible for your testimony.
[15:50] His attitude towards them knew, many people know that these are the guys who have done this. His attitude towards the people, the vessels God has used to bless him.
[16:02] His attitude towards them. He didn't go somewhere and say, who did he tell? These guys, the guys walking, the other guy, yeah, yeah. No, no. He was walking so close with them and he was celebrating them.
[16:15] His attitude towards them made the people come to Peter and John. Because he didn't have to say anything. Sometimes your attitude towards a church tells us much more about the value you place on the Christ in the church.
[16:29] So, he entered with them into the temple walking and leaping and praising God. Wow. He was now walking but not only walking, he was leaping.
[16:46] Skip. Wow. But that was a reflection of a scripture that God has already said that the lame shall walk and praise God.
[16:59] in Isaiah 35 verse 5 and 6. Isaiah 35 verse 5. It says that then the eyes of the blind shall be opened and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped.
[17:12] Let's stay on New King James, please. Then the lame shall leap like a deer. That's what the guy was doing. It's already prophesied in scripture. The lame shall leap like a deer and the tongue of the damned sing.
[17:25] Wow. When the anointing comes, a lot of things happen. Good things. For waters shall burst forth in the wilderness and streams in the desert.
[17:37] The lame walking is one of the favorable acts of God amongst us. This guy was walking and not just, he was leaping like a deer. Leaping like a deer.
[17:48] And in Acts chapter 14 verse 10, another lame man was healed by Paul. This one is not Peter, this one is Paul. Who at least remember there sat a man impotent in his feet.
[17:58] from his mother's womb from verse 7. The same heard Paul speak. And Paul observing him intently and observing him intently and seeing that he had faith to be healed, said to him with a loud voice, stand up on your feet and he leaped and walked.
[18:17] This one didn't hold him, he himself, he has heard so much preaching. The preaching he had heard was strong enough to make him act. When you have been heard preaching we have to just be yanking you and because he was listening to Paul, the same heard Paul speak.
[18:40] In that miracle as well you saw there was a leap. When the lame gets healed there will be leap. But in this particular text it says that there was leaping, walking, leaping and praising God.
[18:58] Praising God. He was saying God has done it. God has done it. So his honor was not to Peter and John or his worship was not to Peter and John.
[19:08] His worship was to God but his honor and appreciation was to Peter and John. Because God did it through Peter. If Peter and John had not come, God would have done it. God always works through people.
[19:22] And let's learn how to accept that it makes a huge difference. I've never seen anyone who celebrates vessels of God and honest, genuine vessels of God and such a person gets exceptionally stranded in life.
[19:43] No. One of my, the things that God has helped me with is the ability or the grace. Let me use the word that.
[19:54] The grace has given me to be able to celebrate the grace. I don't struggle at all to celebrate any anointed person when I see the anointed.
[20:06] And by God's grace too, I have grown in my work with God to a certain, at least a bit, where I can, by his grace, able to focus on grace a person carries in spite of the person.
[20:23] Not because of the person. In spite of the person. In other ways, the person might have personal stuff that might not be appreciable, but I'm not quite interested in that.
[20:37] And when you are dealing with people, you come into contact with their humanity, which might not be very nice for you. But if it takes a certain level of faith, spirituality, and spiritual smartness, to overlook the humanity and focus on the grace you have noticed.
[20:56] Focus on the grace. The grace at work is what will work for you. If you can focus on it, it's working for you. Are they perfect? Who cares?
[21:07] No one is perfect. There's only one perfect. And the closer you get to anointed vessels, the more you see they are humanity. I'm not saying dodgy behavior. dodgy character.
[21:18] No. Humanity. People, people. Like if you are a husband of an anointed woman. There will be times you have disagreements and you are not happy with each other or something.
[21:30] But that's an anointed woman you are dealing with. It's life. You can't say we're anointed. It's life. When you are around people, you become familiar. So it's our job spiritually to work on ourselves, not to be familiar, and add the grace upon a person.
[21:48] They are not upon a face into their familiarity. And you neutralize the person to an ordinary person. You miss out. You miss out.
[22:00] And it's really helping me in life. I thank God for that ability. Peter, the guy who followed Peter, but he was praising God. His praise was to God.
[22:10] God, oh, I believe one of the things he was saying, thank you, Jesus, thank you that I met these guys, thank you, Lord, I met them, I met them, thank you, Lord. Even though he's excited about meeting them, his ultimate gratitude was God's.
[22:25] I'm thankful to God for vessels that he has given me access to. God, they are sinners in life. You can have ten children, it doesn't mean you are like your mother, or you are equal to your mother, even though she had only two.
[22:40] Your mother had two children, you had ten, but you are no older than her. And this is what has caused a lot of people pain, because the vessels God puts in our way, the grace vessels God puts in our way to be a blessing to us, we neutralize.
[22:59] We neutralize in the name of all. It's just about God. Yes, it is about God, but he also says that I don't work on earth without men. I don't work.
[23:09] Even when the angels come, they will ask you to go and bring a man. Praise God. Well, so he followed them into the temple, but the good news is this man was praising God.
[23:22] And all the people saw him walking and praising God. I like that. The people saw him walking. What? They've never seen him walk. He himself has never seen himself walk.
[23:36] They saw him walking, the people, say the people. they'll always be onlookers. The people saw him walk, but I'm glad that when they saw him walk, it's not only walking they saw him do, they also saw him praising God.
[23:51] They also saw him praising God. When people see your testimony, force them to also see your praise. Hallelujah! Don't let people be telling you, oh, that's amazing, we are so proud of you.
[24:04] Interject, respond in a way that they realize that you are aware that there's something about. There's a higher power who is responsible for your breakthrough and your progress and your testimony.
[24:17] Whatever is happening in our church is God. We must be swift and quick to deflect the praise from us to God. We must be fast to point to God.
[24:31] This is God. God. This is God. This is God. If you are ashamed to point the praise to God, you will also be ashamed to do the miracle.
[24:43] God doesn't like sharing his glory with anybody. He desires to work, but once he works, he requires the praise and the glory to be given to him.
[24:55] Amen. Learn not to be grateful to God. Your child has passed an exam. Tell the child, God has helped us because you are not the only one who studied.
[25:10] Others studied, but didn't get to. Even when things don't go the way you want it to go, train people who look up to you, especially children, to learn how to be thankful to God in all things and for all things.
[25:27] Train your children. When good things come, train your household, to know that God is our source. Let's always work on ourselves to remind ourselves that this is just God's grace.
[25:44] This is just God's mercy. This is just God's mercy. This is just God's mercy. It also helps you in relating to people very well. When you know what you are, which might make you better than them, it's because of God's mercy.
[25:58] It helps you to tone down. it helps you to be natural and be human without being so big that people can't even relate with you because I'm not there.
[26:13] This is not my type. This is my life. No. When you are grateful to God, you don't struggle to relate with people who are not at your level.
[26:26] What is your level anyway? What's that level you are talking about? There are places that you will not be allowed access, but for the grace of God, there are places that your child will not be allowed access.
[26:45] For your child to be chosen, there are others, but for some reason, let's remember that all praise be to God.
[26:55] some of us, we believe God for miracles, but we don't intend to give him the credit. We struggle to share testimony, but you fight for wild miracles, and you never, you have made up your mind for me, that testimony is not for me.
[27:12] So, okay, why will God do it for you? If you can't return the glory to him, tell him why he should do it. No, no, just, let's talk in terms of business.
[27:22] What is God's investment? What is God's benefit, dividends, if he does it? It's all about you. But when God sees that, he's praised, Moses said, God, if you wipe out these people, people will say that you brought them out, couldn't sustain them, God said, okay, I will wipe them out, because I need my reputation to be.
[27:45] Jesus said, when you pray, our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be your name, his name must be hallowed. His name must be elevated. He says that, for he leadeth me in the path of righteousness for his name's sake.
[28:03] There are things that God will do in your life for his name's sake. So Peter was saying that, don't think it's our holiness, verse 12, don't think it's our holiness and our righteousness that has made this man well, or our own power.
[28:18] It's not us, it's not us, it's not us, it's not us, it's not us, not unto us, but unto you, O Lord, be all the praise. Not unto us, but to you, O Lord.
[28:30] Not unto us, but to you, O Lord. So, we must be masters if there's something we should work on our lives for, is to work on our life to constantly know how to be quick in giving God praise.
[28:47] Not, oh, we praise God, no, some people just do it, it's just an act. I'm not talking about oh, we praise God, thank God, thank God, thank God, thank God, but that's not what they mean, that's not what they really mean.
[28:59] But when your life is genuinely overflowing in love, gratitude, gratitude to God. Amen, let's get on, let's move on.
[29:10] Oh, so, verse 10 says that, everybody was surprised, what has happened to this guy?
[29:26] They knew that's the guy, he's a guy. So when they knew that that's the guy, I think, you see, the way he was praising God and leaping, got people's attention. Then where is this guy?
[29:37] Because normally people don't jump like this. But when they got their attention, they were, oh, how come? this guy was, oh, he's a guy. Because everybody knew him so well. He hadn't even changed his clothes.
[29:49] They knew him so well. But they didn't notice him until he started doing his praise and worship. He did his own praise and worship without music.
[30:02] Leaping and walking and leaping and running and walking and running and walking and everybody. Then when the people saw him and they knew that that's the guy, they were filled with wonder and amazement at what has happened.
[30:18] This is strange. And that's what got their attention. The man's situation got their attention. They were filled with wonder and amazement at what has happened.
[30:30] And as the lame man which was healed, held Peter in Jerusalem, you see that? He was sleeping and praying, then he were holding him. I wondered how he was doing it.
[30:43] So when they saw him and his relational attitude towards them, they knew that these guys are responsible for what has happened. He didn't have to tell them his story.
[30:56] They saw what the instrumental course was. Even though he was praising God, he drew the attention to the human agency God used.
[31:06] And so he went and held them. He was holding them and bouncing between them. He held them. It's there in your Bible. That really got my attention. And as the lame man which was healed, held Peter, not only Peter, he held Peter and John.
[31:19] I'm wondering how maybe he was in between them and holding them. Or he would jump, jump, and leap. God, thank you. Then he went and hold them. You guys, they realized that these guys have done it for him.
[31:33] Don't be worried about somebody who's telling you you are worshipping the anointed vessel. You know you are not. You don't worship the vessel. It is below your level. It's so unchristian to worship.
[31:45] But it's very Christian to show extreme excessive gratitude to vessels that God has used to do what wouldn't have happened in your life without them.
[31:57] It's okay. And outsiders usually get concerned but you will know what has changed in your life. You shouldn't be bothered about I'm not ashamed to give God glory and to celebrate the vessel God has used in my life.
[32:11] Amen. So it says that help Peter and John. All the people ran together on to Peter and John. Where were they? In the porch that is called Solomon's.
[32:23] Solomon had a porch there. The temple had been destroyed and rebuilt and so there's a certain part of there. It's a huge place. In John chapter 10 verse 23 Jesus also walked in the Solomon's porch.
[32:35] The Bible says that and Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch. And that's the same place in Luke chapter 5 where the miracle took place. If you remember when the man was not well.
[32:48] John chapter 5 and Jesus healed him and they asked him why you carry your mat? John 5 they asked him who is the man who told you to take up your bed and walk.
[33:03] So it's the same place this was happening and Peter and John were there and watched this and when the people came to Peter and John wondering they were wondering what is this thing that is going on and verse 12 and when Peter saw it he answered unto the people wow this is very interesting and I'll end on this it's more too much here so you have to eat it later but this is where the main thing is all these things that happened it happened so that this will happen this was the second public preaching of the church the first one watch this the first public preaching of the church was when the Holy Ghost came and there was this whole activities that got the attention of the people when what happened got their attention they came together to see what was happening and Peter spoke to them here to it now it was the miracle of the man who the people knew the people knew that this guy had always been lame so when they saw they were filled with amazement and wondering what is this that has happened so they went to
[34:19] Peter because the way the guy was holding them the people went to Peter and Solomon's porch Peter and John and all the people ran together unto Peter and John so unto them in the porch that is constant they ran to them who are these guys who are these guys they were so amazed they wanted almost like to worship them they were giving them too much attention they ran to them but we have seen this unusual people amongst us you see that's the difference the man who was praising God was relating to them in a godly way by highly esteeming them whilst because of his action those outside when they saw what has happened now they were also coming but because they have not received miracle anointed they came and now it's almost like they are coming to deify or worship or give them credit that shouldn't be given to them so Peter had to say I've got the chance this is all
[35:20] I've been waiting for and Peter so when Peter saw it he realized this cannot go on like that no no no no no it's that man of Israel why do you marvel at this shouldn't I marvel at this why do you marvel at this why look so intently at us as though by our own power or godliness we have made this man walk they say okay but you made him walk no how did you do it it's not yeah we we were the instrumental cause but it didn't start with us not because we are so righteous not because we have so much power or not because we are so holy oh why how he said don't look on us as though we are so powerful I like Peter the man of God said listen I'm not powerful
[36:20] I'm not powerful I'm not powerful God help men of God I'm not powerful may God help us take attention from ourselves so the danger of a unique anointing operating in your life is if you are not disciplined sometimes it's good for God to give you some personal crisis it helps you to tone down to realize that you are not you are not stone so thank you Jesus and when Peter saw it he answered and said ye men of Israel why marvel ye at this and why look ye so earnestly on us I think he saw the way the poor looking at them it became very uncomfortable it's not us stop it please stop it I want to do attention to something as though it's by our own power holiness which made this he said the God of Abraham wow then he started preaching started preaching do you know he didn't talk about the healing it wasn't necessary he didn't talk about the healing he didn't talk about his calling he spoke about the
[37:36] God of Abraham El Elohim Abraham Abraham he spoke about the God of Abraham he said the God of Abraham oh yes Matthew chapter 22 verse 32 God chooses to call his name and attach his name to a human being I'm the God of Abraham and Matthew chapter 22 verse 32 says that he calls himself the God of Abraham the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob I'm the God of Abraham when Moses met God he said what should I say he sent me Exodus chapter 3 verse 14 he said tell them I am that I am that's the Yahweh name I am I am when I go tell them I am that's why when Jesus said Jesus said you are using the name of God for yourself are you
[38:37] God show me what Jesus said is God don't mind them everywhere he kept saying it I am I am when you go say that I am that I am has sent me then the verse 15 tell them the God of your fathers the God of Abraham God said to Moses that you shall say to the children of Israel the Lord God of your fathers the God of Abraham God and the God of Abraham the God of Isaac the God of Jacob the God of Abraham is the God who justifies the God of Isaac is the God who gives grace the God of Jacob is the God who transforms and the God who justifies who gives grace and transforms he said the God verse 16 he still referred to himself as the God of Abraham the God of Abraham do you remember when Jacob left home and he was traveling in Genesis chapter 28 verse 12 he slept in a place called last and used the stone as a pillow
[39:38] Bible said he had a dream and he saw heaven open and angels ascending and descending and God somebody stood at the top of the ladder and verse 13 he describes himself as the God of your father the God of Abraham the God of Abraham God loves to present himself as the God of Abraham Stephen when he was preaching in Acts chapter 7 I think 32 or so he says that the God of Abraham is through our scripture Jesus calls him the God of Abraham now Peter was about to preach look at how he started his preaching when he was preaching the first time he says that this is that which he was interpreting what had happened so that's what Joel said and when he finished with Joel he shall come to pass whoever shall call on his name shall be saved then he starts to say Jesus Christ a man attested by God but here he said why look why look he on us so intently as though by our own power have time to talk about the healing can
[40:46] I talk to you about the healer oh he said I don't have time to talk about what has just happened I want to talk to you about a person a person Peter's obsession the early church the obsession of every decent Christian preaching must be about a person called Jesus Christ so you can't understand who Jesus is he was talking to Jesus let me tell you I can trace him to the God of Abraham the God you say is your God Jesus said to the Jews if Abraham were your father you won't do what you are doing because Abraham did not do what you are doing what kind of behavior is this in John chapter 8 verse 39 he said Abraham Jesus said if Abraham if you were Abraham said you do the ways of Abraham so the Jews traced themselves to Abraham that's why he said that you are of your father the devil they said we are not bastards we are not bastards we have a father he said you are the devil because he was a liar from the beginning some of you you you used to get away with a lot of things before you became a
[41:59] Christian now that you are a Christian that fornication can turn into pregnancy very quickly it doesn't have to be once then why did I say something wrong because some of you are looking very suspicious when you are a genuine Christian Satan is actually looking for you so it's not everywhere you can go it's not everything you can engage in because it will be exposed very quickly because you are there like Jonah in the boots because of who you are you cannot engage in anything and everything at all anyway he says that the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob and I was talking about Acts chapter 7 how Stephen said the God of Abraham he called our fathers so Peter preaches that of God of Abraham and then Abraham and of
[42:59] Isaac and Jacob the God of our fathers has glorified his son Jesus you see the subject matters not God I'm praying in the name of God what's the meaning of that that's not Christian prayer a Christian prayer is not prayer in the name of God a Christian prayer is a prayer in the name of Jesus in the name of what do you mean by the name of God what do you mean which God what are you talking about not even the name of Jehovah please in the name of Jesus in the name of Yeshua go in his name if you cannot pray in the name of Jesus it's not a Christian prayer so he says that he has glorified his son the God of Abraham our fathers has glorified whom next week I'll go into every bit of it I'll speak about glorified and I'm going to go into whom you delivered up and I'm going to talk about denied and
[44:00] I'm going to talk about when Paul George Pilate was determined he was determined to let him go but you denied him in the next verse in fact new American standard version or English standard version let's see the God you see the word glorified is the original Greek is not his son King James is his son but his servant his servant Peter said Jesus was a servant glorified by the father servant the Christian message is about a person the Christian life really is about a person it's not about you the Christian it's about Christ who is the life of the Christian that's the Christian life and the Christian message it's not about your miracles your testimonies your miracles and testimonies must only be a sign pointing to something bigger the miracle of ages that is before everybody which they can't see you need small small miracles to point it to what's the miracle of the ages the resurrected Jesus when he said
[45:01] God glorified him he was talking about the resurrection so the real miracle of the ages is the resurrection but all these small small miracles is just about Jesus your life should be about Jesus listen if you are not in Christ you are not safe if you are not in Christ you are not saved because he's the savior of the world you are not saved and if you are not saved you are not safe your health is not safe your marriage is not safe your children are not safe any important thing in your life is not safe Satan can come to it anytime he wants because you are not in covenant with the God of Abraham Isaac and Jacob well I hope you received something today thank you for listening to this message by David
