[0:00] Thank you for tuning into this message by David Entry. Every true revival is a product of the strong preaching of God's Word. May you receive a word from this message that will spark a revival in you.

[0:13] In Acts chapter 3, I want to read from the verse 17 to 26. And now, brethren, I would that through ignorance ye did it, as did also your rulers.

[0:30] But those things which God before had showed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he has so fulfilled. Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.

[0:50] And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you, whom the heavens must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.

[1:07] For Moses truly said unto the fathers, a prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me.

[1:18] Him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you. And it shall come to pass that every soul which will not hear that prophet shall be destroyed from among the people.

[1:34] Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that followed after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.

[1:44] Ye are the children of the prophets and of the prophets, which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed unto you first.

[2:01] God, having raised up his son Jesus, sent him to bless you in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

[2:13] Here ends the reading of God's holy word. Father, we pray and I want to express our appreciation and gratitude to you for bringing us together and giving us the opportunity to hear your word.

[2:26] Our prayer is that as your word is taught, the predetermined manifestations and effects of your word will happen to us.

[2:37] Deliverance, salvation, conviction, healing, direction, comfort, everlasting consolation will be granted us as your word is taught.

[2:48] Lord, we pray that we pray that we pray that we pray that we pray that we pray that everyone listening, both in this building and beyond, will have a certain exposure to Christ that will bring benefits into our lives. For we just saw that you sent Christ to bless us.

[3:01] Let this turn into our testimonies to your glory in Jesus' name. Amen. Hallelujah. Praise God. Amen.

[3:12] Amen. we saw from the previous session how God sets the stage for Peter to preach Peter in the first preaching of the New Testament in Acts chapter 2 Bible says that God himself drew the attention of the people by a wind-like effect, sound effect, filling the house fire-like tongues sitting on every one of them and they all beginning to speak in tongues then the outsiders heard it and it got their attention so God set the platform, set the stage and Peter preached the second incident that led to the preaching of God's word the second preaching of the church is this particular text in Acts chapter 3 and God also did it by doing a miracle to a man who was well known by everybody God created the stage and the people saw what has happened and it's engaged their attention and Peter started to preach and as I said, Peter preached on Jesus Christ, not even about the healing and in Peter's preaching, he told them about how God, who has been doing miracles so he says, the God of Abraham, God of Isaac, the God of our fathers this miracle working God in the Old Testament which we Jews are aware of, he's still working in our days he has done these things and then he pointed them to the fact that they denied Jesus Christ and Pontius Pallet desired to release him but they denied Jesus Christ and they requested for a murderer in exchange for the giver of life so he was using all these grandiose terms for Jesus that he was the prince of life he was the son of God or the servant of God, the son of God prince of life, he was the one who they denied and God raised this one they denied and they killed unfortunately, you see, if somebody commits a murder and later on, maybe two years later no one knew that he committed a murder or they knew, whatever and then two years later, he's in his room and then the one he killed says, hello walks in and says, hello, I'm back you know, that's a bad use that's really bad use and Peter told them the one you killed is back so they'll be thinking what's he going to do to us men, we are doomed we are in trouble and I like

[5:52] I missed something this morning I was looking through I noticed something I didn't say Peter said, whom you denied but you know Peter was himself he had denied Jesus before so he couldn't have just condemned them he brought them to a place of guilt so grace can flow and every good preaching helps people to realize what your state actually is and the good preaching helps you to realize what your state actually is it makes you say oh, wretched man that I am who will deliver me so it brings you to a place of introduce you to grace so Peter the one who denied Jesus told them you denied him then he said to them but I know you did it in ignorance wow and I explain the visible ignorance and invincible ignorance and that these Jews they somebody actually sent a message and asked but the Jews knew they knew who Jesus was and they had all the information available for them to find out who Jesus was so their ignorance was not invincible it was invincible they could have overcome that ignorance by giving themselves to research so really pastor you said their ignorance was invincible but it looks like it was invincible and I responded and I was saying that actually it seems to imply it was visible visible is something that you could have overcome when you say something is invincible you can't overcome but something that visible ignorance you could have overcome by exposing yourself to information but you know they say in John chapter 1 verse 41 said we found the Messiah of whom so some of the

[7:41] Jews knew it was the Messiah in John chapter 1 verse 45 it said we found him of whom Moses and the prophets knew so if the fishermen found him then these other guys could have also found him so then they couldn't claim ignorance or they couldn't claim invincible ignorance they knew they could have found out who Jesus was and he said a few times who he was but they didn't want to know however Jesus one day he was teaching and then he did some miracles and they said this man is doing all these things by Beelzebul the prince of demons and then he said to them that I'm not doing these things by Beelzebul because if a strong man keeps his house the house is intact but if another one is stronger Satan will not cast out demons or will not cast out Satan this is how Jesus put it a kingdom divided against itself will not stand so Satan will not be fighting against himself but Jesus said I'm doing this by the power of God then he told them that if you blaspheme against the son of man you'll be forgiven but blaspheme that's the same from chapter 12 we started from verse 26 then it says that wherefore I say unto you all manner of sins and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men but the blasphemy against the Holy

[9:04] Spirit shall not be forgiven unto men so I'm sure you are interested in which one is that so I don't go into that one so I can be forgiven Jesus said the blasphemy there's a certain sin that cannot be forgiven and it's the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit but all manner of sins and blasphemy shall be forgiven in other words can be forgiven so when they said Jesus you are doing this by demons and they observe him and they realize the manifestation of the Holy Spirit and you can tell this is clearly the work of God the Holy Spirit and still you blaspheme against what you see is God then that one you've gone beyond being forgiven so now after God resurrected Jesus from the dead it was a clear evidence that he actually he is the one he said he was one of the purposes of the resurrection is you killed him because he said he was the son of God

[10:04] God raised him to prove to you that he was right so the resurrection was a testament that Jesus actually was who he said he was now after the resurrection if you refuse to accept him then you can't say you are entirely ignorant so your ignorance in that sense is not visible that is why he tried to Peter made them aware that this Jesus who you crucified God raised him because he is the savior so now you don't have any reason to claim well I still didn't know after you died no you knew it now so back to the text it says that I know you did it in ignorance in Acts chapter 3 verse 17 now brethren use the term brethren that's endearing I know you did it in ignorance or in ignorance you did it or through ignorance you did it as your rulers verse 18 he says that but those things which God before had showed by the mouth of all his prophets that Christ should suffer he has fulfilled so this is the

[11:12] Christ now after this point you are in trouble if you don't believe because in the past Bible says Acts I quoted it 17 verse 30 31 it says in the times of this ignorance God now he winked so okay no problem let it pass let it pass but now but now but now somebody say but now after you hear this preaching you are not the same you can't be the same after you hear this preaching if you don't take steps to get closer to God you are in trouble so he says that in the verse 19 Acts chapter 3 19 he told them that repent ye therefore you see therefore because God has raised him and everything is now clear let me just say this let me just say this two pointers to the sign of good preaching is not how you feel true

[12:17] Christian preaching is about Jesus true Christian he helps Jesus to be reviewed but much more this is very crucial much more the purpose of preaching and for the preaching to be good it's almost like a very good top lawyer in the court room making a case and being able to argue a case so clearly so concisely so cogently that the jury don't have any option but are left with only one option are left with only one option to make a decision that's the truth a good preaching is supposed to make a case from scripture to leave you with no option but to believe that what the scripture has said is true that's what Peter did he took scripture and interpreted it existentially what does that mean in the light of what was going on in their lives he was able to take scripture to explain it take scripture to explain it and draw a conclusion they couldn't say we didn't know so Peter says the Bible says that after he preached he says repent therefore because you don't have any reason to say this is not correct and that is why preaching is supposed to have a certain dimension of intellectual strength from scripture

[13:58] Bible says that reasoning from scripture he was able to explain from scripture the reason why many people who don't want to believe don't want to hear the gospel is the gospel pushes them to a corner I don't want to go to church I don't want to go to church I don't want to believe anything I think one day we were coming to church a few years ago and then pastor decided to preach to the driver which she normally always do and the driver said I believe there is something I probably believe there is life after death but I just don't want to think about it I just want to live the way I'm living that's willful ignorance it's called willful ignorance once people say they are atheists when they start to do their research they find out that it's a choice of faith atheism is another belief system it's a belief system so they come to a conclusion oh okay there must be something

[14:58] Richard Dawkins said yeah when we do the research we know there's something that actually caused the big bank but I don't want to call it God I just I just don't want to call it God a good preaching brings people to a corner that they don't have option but it's the evidences and the facts are so obvious and so strong you must be a fool to deny it to deny it will be an intellectual suicide so you don't have an option it's true so Peter pushed them to a corner by telling them you killed him God raised him he's the prince of life he's the one the prophets have spoken about all the way from Genesis every prophet spoke about him and everything God spoke about the prophet said the Messiah will do he Jesus has fulfilled and it was fulfilled not in a corner but before our eyes can't you see it he is the one therefore repent he pushed them to a corner and told them repent and it's interesting that they will always preach Christ and usually call for repentance every good preaching is also supposed to lead us to a change of heart repentance the Greek word is means a change of mind repentance in Hebrew connotes more of a change of action in the Greek it connotes a change of mind so change your mind a change of mind it's not just a change of mind but it's a change of repentance it's a change of mind that leads to a certain course of action certain action so you change if your mind has changed you will see it in your actions repentance will always produce an action so Peter said repent therefore when you study the scriptures repentance is a major

[16:57] New Testament word it's replete in the New Testament the New Testament is replete with repent repent repent repent repent Mark chapter 1 verse 4 he preached repentance Mark chapter John did baptize in the wilderness and preached the baptism of repentance Mark 1 15 calls for repentance in Matthew chapter 4 verse 17 Jesus said repent that's when he started preaching he opened his public preaching by calling people to repentance in Luke chapter 3 verse 3 John called them to repentance in Luke chapter 15 verse 10 we see a call for repentance it says that angels rejoice over sinners what are sinners expected to do repent so you see repentance clearly in Acts chapter 2 you know after Peter preached the first powerful message about Jesus Acts 2 37 they were cut to the earth they said what should we do

[18:00] Peter said nothing repent verse 38 repent in Acts chapter 5 verse 31 he said repent God has given them repentance to give repentance to Israel in Acts chapter 26 verse 20 he said he should preach repentance in Acts chapter 11 verse 18 repentance was given to the Gentiles repentance in Luke chapter Luke chapter 24 verse 47 Jesus was telling them that repentance must be preached in his name and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in the name of Jesus amongst all nations beginning at Jerusalem so repentance repentance in Acts chapter 22 you see very clearly he was supposed to go and preach repentance from verse 18 down verse 18 19 20 repentance repentance repentance repentance repentance is a New Testament word which means change of mind that leads to change of action in Revelations when Jesus sent the letter to the seven churches of Asia five out of the seven were asked to repent repent repent repent repent so repentance is a New Testament word you notice that sinners are meant to repent but sometimes believers can also be asked to repent so that is what we saw in Revelations to the churches because

[19:28] I quoted earlier on that sinners should repent but in Revelations chapter 2 it was written to a church people who have already repented and it said repent so I don't know what you should repent from there's always something to repent from in our dealings with God there's always even though we have repented from our sins and come to Christ as we walk with God sometimes in Revelation it says that Revelation chapter 2 remember therefore from when thou art fallen and repent and do that means they were doing first works their first love and they stopped and now they became very complacent and they were there couldn't be bothered they would come to church late they would miss church normally meanwhile they used not to do that first love you know what I'm talking about they were part of a department serving happily and now they are not they can't be bothered after lockdown repent therefore and don't just stay at home after lockdown and keep watching church be in church as well after you watch praise the Lord so repent tell somebody repent so repentance is a is a very very beautiful

[20:44] New Testament important New Testament word and all there's always a call to repentance and a few comments I want to make about repentance now number one sometimes God gives repentance I really like that in Acts chapter 11 verse 18 so it's like they repented but God was remember it's God who is a work in you both to will and to do so most of the time when we repent even though it's call to action it's God who is working in our hearts to be able to repent do you understand what I'm saying it says that then has God also granted to the Gentiles or God also to the Gentiles granted repentance all to life it's like God gave them the ability to repent other than that the Gentiles would have come in God gave them in Acts chapter 5 verse 31 him has God exalted with his right hand to be a prince and a savior for to give repentance repentance giving those of us who have come to Jesus don't ever forget

[21:57] God helped you to be able to repent in 2 Timothy chapter 2 verse 25 you can see that it says that in meekness instructing those who oppose themselves if God adventure will give them repentance to the acknowledgement of the truth wow God will give somebody repentance to the acknowledgement of the truth may that be our constant story so we see that God gives repentance and also I want to mention causes of repentance what make people repent the means through which repentance happen number one Matthew you know I always want to quote the scripture before Matthew chapter 11 verse 21 look at something there Matthew chapter 11 verse 21 says that woe unto thee

[22:58] Chorazin woe unto thee Bethsaida for if the mighty works which were done in you had been done in Tyre and Sodom they would have repented long ago so they didn't repent because they didn't experience some of the things you experienced so sometimes from this point Jesus is saying that if these people have gotten to know about what you know they would have repented so one of the causes of repentance is divine revelation that's why teachings are important as you teach it helps people to know Peter explained the facts from the Old Testament in combination with what they have experienced in their lives in the times of Jesus he explained it from the Old Testament to let them know that Jesus is actually the Christ you have crucified the Christ you have denied the Christ now therefore repent you can't say I didn't know now you've one is knowledge or divine revelation number two second

[24:05] Corinthians chapter seven verse eight for though I made you sorry with a letter I did not repent though I did repent I will explain what that means I can leave it you can go and do a research for I perceived that the same epistle which made you sorry though it were but for a season now let's go to the next verse now I rejoice not that you were made sorry but that you sorrowed to repentance you sorrowed to one of the things you have to know about repentance is that there is always a feeling that goes with repentance repentance has some dimension of sentiment attached to it or emotions attached to it for anyone to repent first of all they will feel sorry about their state if you are happy about your state you will not repent that's why sometimes good preaching is just meant to strip me bare oh my goodness

[25:18] I really need help and I don't like the state at all there's a difference between repentance and remorse the difference between repentance and remorse is remorse is you feel sorry because you have been caught there are people in prison who really feel sorry how could I have been so stupid and I could I have done this it doesn't mean repentance but everybody who genuinely repents feels sorry and it says that godly sorrow produces repentance godly sorrow produces repentance godly I think NIV one of them will use that yeah it says that godly sorrow produces what one more time tell somebody oh please preach with me preach to somebody some people when the pastor is preaching and it goes to their area and say

[26:25] I don't like it if you have something to talk to me personally why don't you talk to me personally why would if God has something to say to you why wouldn't he say it for others to also benefit why would you be selfish godly sorrow produces repentance how many of you have heard preaching that really made you feel sorry and afterwards you made up your mind you know what I'm not going that way again godly sorrow produces repentance but worldly sorrow produces stress depression when you are going through things you are sad nothing is working you are sad some people say I've started going to church because your wife caught you that's why you have talked it's not because you believe in God's Godly sorrow produces repentance so second course of repentance sorrow and what kind of sorrow so one first course not first but one of the things that produces repentance is what divine revelation secondly godly sorrow thirdly

[27:39] Romans chapter 2 verse 4 it says give me new King James please give us new King James God do you do you despise the goodness God is being so good to you are despising it or don't you know that the goodness of God leads you to repentance when you read the King James I think you say the kindness of God sometimes when you come into contact or revelation about God's goodness how God has been so kind to you he has a way of humbling you NIV says that God's kindness leads you toward repentance God has been so kind you should have been in prison oh yes you should have actually had STD because how you escaped you don't know because that girl who was with him has got it this other girl has got it but you don't know how you and it's like you were in between the one the one who got it and you feel like

[28:48] I didn't know he will answer me this way I didn't know he will favor me this way the kindness of God is leading you towards me you should have been arrested sometimes the good the kindness of God the goodness of God is leading us to repentance because you are realized that God has actually been good to me I have to stop this now because God has been good to me you know what I'm going to change when you come into direct contact with how good God is the love of God how he spared you sometimes you don't have a choice but to repent somebody somebody say thank you Jesus and then the fourth course of repentance is when the apostles preach that you don't change judgment is coming the threats of the coming judgments when we were in school many years ago we got born again the popular preaching was about hell people changed people converted to

[29:58] Christ and came because some evangelists preach about hell I remember a few of my friends came to me they had a dream they were burning in hell hell was preached so much you know there's a coming judgment is it bad it's not bad in itself it's being foretold and forewarned about the problems ahead 2nd Thessalonians chapter 2 verse 7 8 9 9 is very scary but let's start from 7 it says that for the mystery of lawlessness is already at work only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way so God will put in some restraints until the lawless one look at the next verse and then the lawless one will be revealed whom the Lord will consume with the breath of his mouth and destroy with the brightness of his coming when his coming his brightness alone will destroy this lawless antichrist one the next verse says that the coming of the lawless one is according to the the working of satan with all power signs in fact to be honest this is not a scripture

[31:18] I made a mistake it's chapter one but anyway this is also good but let's go to chapter one from verse seven look at the verse seven what I was looking for is not the verse eight it's verse seven this is talking about God Jesus Christ will give to you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with his mighty angels right it's going to so you know chapter two was talking about it's coming look at the verse eight in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know take vengeance on those who do not know God and those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ yeah oh but hey we okay Jesus Christ is very nice he's coming with vengeance the first time he came like a lamb the second time he's coming like a lion the first time he came like a servant the second time he's coming as a king as a judge he's coming with judgment judgment judgment is coming oh yes judgment is coming you might be able to get away from the police escape from the law but you can't escape from the judgment of God look at verse 9 even scary these people he said he shall punish with how long everlasting some people say how can hell be all that long it's just for a while listen it's everlasting destruction that will not end everlasting destruction from the presence of the

[32:49] Lord and who are those people those who do not know God and those who do not believe the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ he will punish with everlasting destruction what hey you won't change you want that one that doesn't seem smart to choose this one where you can choose everlasting consolation hallelujah Acts chapter 17 verse 31 it says that verse 30 says that he has commanded in a time of ignorance God will all men repent look at that because he has appointed a day on which he will judge the world in righteousness by the man whom he has ordained he has given assurance by raising the fact that he raised from the dead is a sign that I'm going to judge and he raised him to tell us that judgment is coming so the fear the threats of coming judgment makes people also repent so four causes of repentance divine revelation sorrow kindness of God and the threats of judgment now this want me to talk about the benefits of repentance that's exactly what

[34:07] Peter did let's look at the text Acts chapter 3 back back to Acts chapter 3 verse 19 repent ye therefore and be converted permit me to mention something about conversion because it looks like what's the difference between repentance and conversion repentance is a change of mind that leads to a change of action so you change your mind but what's conversion the original Greek word translated conversion it sounds like epistreful which means to return so you move away from something epistreful is to return or to come back so repent and be converted is do a change of mind change of direction and now get back to God repent and come back to God repent and be some always converted is I'm now I'm back in God I'm back in God epistreful epistreful epistreful epistreful epistreful epistreful repentance is metanoil and epistreful so change the way you are thinking do you know why preaching one of the things preaching is supposed to do is to help you to secure a change of thinking change of mind that's why

[35:30] I said it forces you to a corner where the facts are all so glaring that you don't have a choice but because the evidence and the fact that's why it has to be intellectual it has to be intelligent it has to be clear it moves you to a corner where you know oh okay these are the facts I can you can't choose not to accept because it's very clear all the evidence and data is speaking so that will lead you to a change of mind and a change of mind that will lead to conversion Peter said repent and be converted first benefit of repentance is forgiveness of sins in Acts chapter 2 Peter said verse 28 repent repent and let everyone be baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission remission is removal is the same forgiveness of sin because forgiveness of sin is only in

[36:30] Jesus forgiveness of sins is only in Jesus Acts chapter 13 verse 38 Acts chapter 10 verse 43 verse 38 forgiveness of sin therefore let it be known to you brethren that through this man is preached to you the forgiveness of sin that's the way you can get forgiven it's only in Jesus Christ Acts chapter 10 verse 43 forgiveness of sin is only in Jesus Christ to him all the prophets witnessed that through his name whoever believes in him will receive what the remission the removal of sins your sins can be removed oh that's good news that's why it's only the church that can preach watch this ah thank you Jesus this is going to be a good point it's only the church I'm talking about the church the true gospel that guarantees watch this guarantees removal of sins guarantees forgiveness of sins and so if the forgiveness of sins are guaranteed then by inference automatically it implies heaven is guaranteed because you can't go to heaven with sins that's why some religions say we don't know no one can know whether you are going to heaven or not but the gospel can tell you whether you are going to heaven or not how because once you repent and convert your sins are forgiven you shall hallelujah on that ground the biggest blessing is forgiveness of sins bible says romans chapter 4 i think verse 5 or 4 how david speaks of the blessedness of the man whose sins are forgiven verse 6 just as david also described that how blessed it is that a man sins god has not imputed again it's like that's real blessings the true blessing that is why if you are born again you don't have any grounds to complain against god even if he doesn't do anything for you again because forgiveness of sins is the best the best the best thing you can ever receive from god is the best saint 103 verse 1 bless the lord oh my soul bless the lord and all that is within me bless his holy name bless the lord oh my soul verse 2 bless the lord oh my soul and forget not his benefits what are these benefits who for oh my goodness who forgives not some of your iniquities he forgives all your iniquities that is why we sing praise and worship when you come to church come as one who has been forgiven lift up your hands and bless him for forgiveness of sins it is only christians who can bless god for the forgiveness of sins oh yes our sins are forgiven bible says in ephesians chapter 1 verse 7 in him we have oh for our my goodness in him we have redemption to his body the forgiveness of sins the forgiveness of sins to grant forgiveness god raised to grant repentance that leads to forgiveness of sins forgiveness of sins but let's look at the text again how peter puts it that is even deeper than meets the eye is it possible we already are from the screen please let's go let's read here let's go and be converted he said repent and be converted

[40:22] I thought you as you were thinking he would have said your sins will be forgiven he used another word blood do you know what it means it looks like god has a big eraser to erase oh he will go onto the heavens computer and erase delete sin I preached a message some time ago sin is sin is what it's history based on hebrews chapter 9 verse 18 19 somewhere there I think so hebrews chapter where it talks about he has remitted our sins he has removed because through his blood so now when you come before god bible says yeah i think there's no more sins that is charged against you no longer our sins are no longer held against us why because of the blood of christ when you come under the blood there's no reason why you hold your sins against you so sin is now history it's gone it's not something incumbent or current in your life it's history now peter is using strong words that your sins are blotted down david in psalm 51 verse 1 and verse 9 when he sinned against god by going to take somebody's wife and impregnating her and killing the man and killing the man and nathan the prophet said david king david i want to tell you a story he said go on there was a rich man who had so many sheep so much sheep a lot of it and there was another poor man in the same town who had only one sheep the sheep was like everything to him because his pets his friend his possession his pride he loved the sheep so much one day that rich man with plenty sheep had guests and he wanted to do some nine lamb chops for them and he went to this man who had only one sheep and took the sheep slaughtered the sheep to serve his guests david said such a man must be killed must be made to pray he said david david was angry greatly and his anger arose against that man the man say the man his anger you see when you are judging me it's very easy his anger arose against the man and he said to nathan as long as the lord lives that man who has done this should surely you have to this man must be a duke how can he do and nathan nathan said i think you are the man nathan said you you you are the man we are talking about he said that's it for this what god is saying i've anointed you and then all this and given you many wives and even if you wanted more you could have asked me i would have given you so somebody said that means god has your problem polygamy and i sleep that alone before he said if that would have been too little also i would have given you much more and you left it and you went for somebody's wife killed a man and married you are a doomed man then david when he realized his sins and his heart see the way he was quick to judge somebody when you are judging people be careful i don't know who i'm talking about i know your dad did it but be careful especially young men who hates their father because your father was not there early and he didn't support your mother it's bad behavior from that father but i think we should think about you because already you have been with three girls and you've cheated on two and you are not yet 20 that means that by the time you get your father's age you have a record breaking so david

[44:28] saw what he had done and he was cut to his heart godly sorrow brings repentance and david came before god sam 51 verse 1 he said that's his prayer so when he says sam 51 that prayer came after what he was called have mercy upon me oh god according to your loving kindness according to your the multitude of your tender mercy blot out that's the term jc peter used blot out i don't even want to remember it makes me sick blot out my transgressions take some rubber take a bleach david said blot out my transgressions verse 9 he said hide your face from my sins and blot out all my good idea he one of the signs of repentance is you develop abhorrence for the sin you repent from you it's one of that's genuine repentance you develop hatred abhorrence for the sin see how david felt disgusted about his sin he said god blot it out blot it out you haven't repented that's why you think what's the big deal is there not people who do this thing what's the big deal and that's why when people talk about it you even why are they talking why is the pastor preaching like cohabiting with your girlfriend is something so bad you haven't repented that's why you're talking like you haven't repented you haven't repented blot out my sins

[46:16] Isaiah 44 22 may god blot out our sins Isaiah 44 22 it says that i have blotted oh god can do it wow your transgressions like i said i blotted it out god can blot out your sins hallelujah hallelujah Isaiah 43 25 i even i i am he who blot out your that's god for my own sake oh and i will not remember your sins he said i will have selective amnesia i will not remember when it comes to your sin god said i've chosen i've forgotten oh come on i've forgotten hallelujah there is now therefore no condemnation for those who are in christ jesus blot out my sins oh god blot out my sins he said i am the lord who blot our sins isaiah chapter 1 verse 18 says though your sins be as call it oh come on come and now let us reason together though your sins are as call it they shall be as white as no though they are like christian they shall be as wool in other words it won't be a problem again not the behavior but the history of your sin are blotted out psalm 103 verse 11 verse 12 verse 13 i like psalm 103 verse 11 it says that let's start from there's something deep in verse 10 i wasn't going to read it by you it was just making noise in my ears call me call me so he has not dealt with us according to our think about it you wouldn't have woken up this morning yeah you would have been sucked from your work long time ago if god was dealing with you oh yes he said he hasn't dealt with us according to our sins say thank you jesus so your opponents your adversaries those who don't like you are telling god look at look at what he has done look at god can't you see and god say what think about yourself then god he's aware but he hasn't dealt with you according to your sin in in second peter i'll come back to psalm in second peter chapter three verse nine it's not that god can't act he said the lord is not slack concerning his promises as psalm considers slackness his own is not slackness he's not lazy he's not slow bible says but he's long suffering towards us why is he waiting god execute that man god god he's waiting how many of you know sometimes god waits god has been giving you enough rope be careful you don't use it to hang yourself he's long suffering towards us not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repent that that is why he withholds that judgment that's why he is not powerful it's not that he can't do it but the only problem is he don't know when that rope will finish because it doesn't give you something to measure the rope when it finishes so before it finishes maybe your friend's own is 100 meters but your own is 10 yes your rope is 10 so don't use the distance your friend has been going to think that you can also go that distance because god deals with us all differently based on his assignment for our lives and the purpose for our twins he doesn't deal with them the same so he says that if god should deal with us according to our sins who will stand that's another scary one some 130 130 it

[50:16] says verse 3 if the lord should mark iniquities oh lord who who who who so no wonder he hasn't dealt with us according to our sins verse 11 he says he hasn't dealt with us according to our sins verse 11 for as the heavens are high above the earth so great is his mercy towards those who fear him hallelujah god has so much mercy verse 12 is about the blotting of our sins so far as he removed our transgressions from us so when he's dealing with you when someone is accusing of what the Bible says the accuser nine Satan is the accuser he keeps constantly accusing you before God the problem is when you are in Christ your sins are forgiven but Satan will use your guilt so he will say you see you are a murderer you aborted a child

[51:18] Christ will never forgive your sins because you are a murderer a murderer a murderer even though you are born again God will never forgive you that's Satan that's the voice of Satan he accuses you and he uses your guilt so one of the things that every Christian must learn how to do is must learn how to appropriate the blood of Jesus and appreciate be aware of the intensity of the work of the cross how it cancels iniquities and blots out transgressions before God when we genuinely repent I'm not talking about the one who has repented but the one who has genuinely repented God blows out your sin and walk in the understanding that I know I'm forgiven I know I'm forgiving else Satan will use your guilt you are coming to pray bring your hands down bring your hands down yeah there are times you want to lift your hands and wave to Jesus Satan said bring the hand down because he's working with your guilt

[52:25] Satan works with your guilt there's now therefore no condemnation he said as far as the east is from the west so far has he removed I like that God himself did the remover he owns a remover company they don't remove chairs they don't remove doors they don't remove tables they don't remove beds they remove hallelujah God owns a remover company that removes only sin he has removed our transgressions look at verse 13 and we move on verse 13 says that as a father pities his children so the Lord pities those who fear him something looks at you he said mercy pities us so God blots our iniquities he removes our transgressions now in Colossians chapter 2 verse 14 Bible talks about how he blots out the handwriting of

[53:25] Jesus himself with his blood having wiped he used the word wiped out what now let me tell you something in the past they used to write on papyrus the paper they used to use in the New Testament times it was papyrus and then the ink they used to use was not acidic so you write on it it's like some of the boards in our school it's different from permanent marker you have this writing you write it and then take the rubber or the cleaner and then rub it and it's gone so those days you can write something and clean that's why crossword pencil it's always better to use pencil unless you are very proud use pencil when you get it wrong just rub it and then redo it so in those days when they write something it could be wiped out not like in these days where the inks has acidic content so once it's on the paper you can't erase it but in those days so when he says that he wiped out all the handwriting that's the new written document he

[54:36] Jesus Christ having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us and was contrary to us you are going east but the thing is moving you towards west something is working against you Jesus Christ himself came when he died on the cross he used his blood to wipe out the handwriting oh hallelujah because of forgiveness of sins having wiped out so when Peter says that repent and be converted that your sins will be blotted out he knew exactly what he was talking about when he says that your sins will be blotted out the Greek word exalifo which means obliterate it's like when they are doing refurbishment works here all this they will clear everything you can come into the it's bare they will remove everything so clean out so exalifo means to wipe out to blot out it means to obliterate to erase to annul a decree a decree has been made and you annul it that's what he did on the cross for those of us who repent shout hallelujah hallelujah hallelujah in Micah 7 19 let me just throw that one in and we move on in Micah 7 19 it says that he will again have compassion on us and will subdue our iniquities wow he will subdue he will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea it's clear say praise god so peter said repent and be converted metanoio and be epistrapho so that your sins will be exalifo hallelujah you can make a song out of it praise the lord so quickly let me just give you the point and the one point because last week

[56:41] I really wanted to talk about the blotting out because it's big in christianity it's serious in christianity when our sins if any man be in christ is a new christian all things are past all things so all things are blotted talking about sins so benefits of repentance sins are blotted out number two look at the text again verse 19 acts chapter 3 verse 19 repent therefore and be converted that your sins may be blotted out so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the lord times of refreshing now this times of refreshing was referring particularly to the second coming in Isaiah chapter 11 talks about how a little child shall play with an other a lion shall lie with a lamb and there will be peace that's the paradise images the utopia everything is cool and flowy you can be playing with a snake a wild snake lion you can put your head in a lion's mouth and he will be playing with you there's going to be peace peace and it says that lion shall eat grass yes lion shall eat grass because carnivorous animals don't eat grass however in

[57:58] Genesis before the fall it was only grass they were eating so restoration so we're talking about the time of restoration the Jews always look forward to that so they confused the first coming with the second coming they thought once it comes the first time that's all no the first coming was to come and obliterate to come and wipe out sins so that he opened the flood gate for all to come in because he told Abraham in you shall all the earth be blessed not only Jews in you shall all the nations Genesis chapter 12 so the nations should be blessed through you not only Jews so the flood gates must be open for both Jews and Gentiles and then the church be built he will come back in the millennial rain when it comes back to rain that's when there'll be so much joy and peace and those of us who have walked with him in faithfulness who have endured who reign with him and those who are even in Christ who did endure they'll be cast into outer darkness for a thousand years so that's what the Jews knew that there's coming a time when the authority the Davidic kingdom will be restored the Jews will be restored back to

[59:06] God and there'll be a nice relationship between God and his people like today's reading God came in the garden he said Adam where are you they heard the voice of God walking in the garden and they went and hid themselves God said where are you he said I heard your voice and I was naked so I hid Adam who told you you are naked have you eaten what I said you shouldn't eat he said no it's a woman women brother I'll be fine where there are no women around I'll be fine he sounded like Adam he said it's a woman and God went to the woman woman what have you he said it's a serpent the serpent deceived me he went to the serpent released curses on the serpent and when he said I'll put enmity between your seed and her seed you bruise his heel talking about Jesus verse 15 and he will bruise your head talking about you see the his is a deity that's the Messiah he'll bruise your head and then then he cursed the devil he said you are cursed you go on your belly so God cursed the devil but when he came to man he didn't curse man he came to the woman he said

[60:16] I'll multiply your sorrows true childbearing I'll make it but that wasn't a curse he said that's the condition you are going to be and as your desire will be for your man yes it's there it's there no I'm not it's there so he says your desire will be for the man yeah your husband your husband said your desire will be for your husband but look at the man he said he told the man the earth he didn't say you are cursed because God has already blessed them he does not care what he has blessed so he said but the earth is cursed for your sake the earth and it to produce tongues that's why they took the tongues of the earth to put you on Jesus before on the cross because the curse has been that's why he bore our curse hallelujah on the cross so so from the text you can see that there was this promise of a time of refreshing coming that's really the true context however it's also applicable that being in

[61:22] Christ when you are in Christ when you repent you get refreshed by God all the confusion I'm tired of living I'm frustrated and stressed I'm stressed I'm stressed when you are in Christ and your sins are forgiven you have this sense of peace this sense of refreshing from God I know I'm talking to somebody once you are in Christ God bless your sins and gives you a time of refreshing I see that becoming your portion but because of my time I don't want to come back to this again the next thing that happens benefits of repentance you are spared the coming judgment when you go and read from the verse 20 it talks about the coming judgment and then the spared the coming judgment and then the last point is the verse 26 let's look at the verse 26 quickly unto you first God having raised up his son Jesus sent him to bless you oh wow bless you the blessings you receive blessings from God and the blessing above all blessings is turning us away from our iniquities you are no more addicted you are no more under satanic control you can look at sin and walk away from sin that's real blessing that's real blessing when you repent you can walk away from sins when you repent you can walk away you can't say

[62:41] I've repented but I can't stop no it means you haven't repented part of the blessings of repentance is that he sends his son to bless us to turn us away from our sins I see somebody receiving strength to turn away the power of repentance the glory of repentance the supernatural blessings behind repentance repentance is good repentance will do you good it will bring you to an expected end in Jesus name did you receive something hallelujah thank you for listening to this message by David Entry we pray you have been revived towards God you can connect with David Entry on all relevant social media platforms including Instagram and LinkedIn you can also hear more messages from David Entry on all relevant streaming platforms and the Karis Church app don't forget to like and share the message be blessed
