[0:00] Hallelujah! Thank you for tuning in to this powerful message by David Entry at Karis Phase 2, our Christ-centered youth services. You can never find Christ outside of the open Word of God.

[0:13] May Jesus Christ reveal Himself to you as you listen. Let's get into God's Word. Today I don't have my time. How much time can you give me? Well, let's continue from Ephesians chapter 2.

[0:30] Ephesians chapter 2, I read from verse 1.

[1:33] I might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness towards us through Christ Jesus. Amen.

[1:44] Was it last week? Yeah. Last week I spoke about the mercy of God. Isn't it? Sorry? Oh, yes. I thought on honor. Yeah, that's true.

[1:58] How many of you tried to put that into practice? Jesus said, blessed are you for the things you do, for the things you hear. If you do them. John chapter 13 verse 17.

[2:10] Blessed are you. Blessed are you. He said, if you do these things, blessed are you. Okay, so. He said, if you know these things, if you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.

[2:25] The blessing has a lot to do with what you do and what you know. I see some people going up in blessings. Blessings has a lot to do with what you do more than what you know.

[2:42] But it starts with what you know. Some blessings are not by accident because you knew what you were doing when you did it. You knew when you were honoring your father when you did it.

[2:52] You knew that and said, not just based on feelings, but based on knowledge and revelation, you did it. So, when the blessings show later, people will say, wow. No, no, you are not surprised because you knew it was coming.

[3:04] Like, I know I'm blessed. How many of you know I'm blessed? I'm blessed and I'm not surprised. I would have been surprised if I'm not blessed. Because of the things I'm practicing.

[3:17] The things I practice put you on the highway of blessing. Blessed are you. If you know these things, blessed are you. If you do them. Conditional.

[3:29] If. Blessings are not arbitrary. So, you are hoping because life is hard, maybe God will just do something for me.

[3:39] God has your prayer like that. If God wants to bless you, He will give you an instruction. If God wants to bless you, He will give you an instruction. So that you'll be responsible for the outcome.

[3:51] Even though He's the one doing it. Because then it should not be fair. That God is blessing indiscriminately and arbitrarily. Because He doesn't bless people because someone is hungry.

[4:03] He doesn't do things because someone is in need. He does things based on His plan and His word. All things work together for good to do. That love the Lord and according to His purpose.

[4:14] God. His purpose. In Ephesians chapter 1 verse 11, He talks about how He does all these things according to the counsel of His own purpose. It's not accidental.

[4:25] In whom we are about to obtain an inheritance. Being predestinated according to the purpose of Him. Who works all things according to the counsel of His will. So what He's doing is based on the counsel of His will.

[4:39] I see you blessed. There are people who have degrees. But they don't lack disgrace. You have degrees and you are sleeping with somebody's girlfriend.

[4:56] You have degrees. And different men are sleeping with you. You have degrees. So. So.

[5:11] The previous week I spoke about mercy. How nobody is qualified. Okay. Listen, listen. The Bible says that if God should deal with us based on our iniquities.

[5:24] None of us can stand. Yeah. In the book of Psalm 130. He has not regarded our iniquities. So when God is dealing with you. He says that if the Lord should mark iniquities.

[5:38] Who could stand? None of us. Because God is rich in mercies. Sometimes He will intentionally. I'm about to say something very strong. He will overlook some things.

[5:52] Doesn't mean He's not aware. In Acts chapter 17. Verse 30. The Bible says that in the days of ignorance. God will win. He's overlooked.

[6:03] That's it. He's there. God overlooked. Ah. But now. Commands everyone. God can overlook some things.

[6:16] In the days of ignorance. But not after you've heard me preach. God can overlook. Yes.

[6:27] What makes God overlook? Because He's a God of mercy. Not a God of merit. How many of you know that God shouldn't give you what you deserve?

[6:41] If God should give you what you deserve. You. The earth will open and swallow you. A murderer.

[6:53] Yes. You stab somebody. And you. You got. You got away. With the police. You got away. But not with God. So God should have mercy.

[7:08] Else. This earth will open. As soon as you enter the church. The church. The chair will melt under you. And burn your ties. God is not like some of those strange gods.

[7:20] Who are so brutal. And cruel. God is a God of justice. But He has committed His full justice to the latter days. And He's giving somebody.

[7:31] In spite of whatever you have done. Whatever you haven't done. To run away and hide in Christ. Whilst you have the chance. Whilst you are alive. God is great in mercy.

[7:45] Not in merit. One day. A guy went to. A painter. And he's. He paints. Someone who paints portraits.

[7:57] So he went there. You sit down and he'll paint your portrait. Some of you. Maybe you've had experience like that before. I'm here to find some painter. Who can paint me for you to look. Better than me. A guy went and said.

[8:11] Can you. Do a portrait of me. And then when the painter was about to start. He said. Make sure. You do justice. He said.

[8:22] What did you say? Did you. Are you asking for justice or mercy? Because if I should do justice. I don't think. I will paint you just the way you are.

[8:34] God is rich in mercy. God is. Let's all say that together. God is rich in mercy. Ephesians chapter 2 verse 4. Let's read it out loud. Let's go. I can't hear you.

[8:50] Let's just try to get this louder. Let's go. Because of his great love. Which he loved. One more time. God who is rich in mercy.

[9:01] Because of his great love. With which he loved. Then the next verse. Verse 5. Says that whilst we were. Even when we were dead.

[9:12] In our transgressions. He made us alive. Not because we deserved it. But mercy did it. But watch this. There's something I want you to draw your attention to. In the verse 4.

[9:23] Said by God who is rich in mercy. Because. Of his great love. I know. Your ex doesn't love you.

[9:34] There are people here. Potentially. Your parents didn't like you.

[9:45] So you were even given. To adoption. Your mom gave birth. And abandoned you. Sometimes you feel rejected. But.

[9:57] There is one person. If you are in this room. That. Makes it possible for you to be here. Because. He loves you God. God loves you.

[10:09] If you are saved. It's a major statement of. God's expression of love. Can you do me a favor. Look at someone. And tell the person. God loves you. God loves you.

[10:22] Every human being. Wants to feel loved. Every human being. Wants to feel loved. One of the things. That can break a person. Is when they feel rejected. That's why racism is not good.

[10:36] That's why discrimination is not good. People feel rejected. Just because of what they couldn't change. Because of their nature. That's why if you are in God.

[10:47] You never support. Discrimination against people. By virtue of their nature. Whether they are male or female. They are slave or free. They are black or white.

[10:59] They are blue or yellow. They are Latino or indigo. You do not. Bible says that. We are all one in Christ. There is neither male nor female.

[11:10] Jew nor Gentile. Can you imagine? So even there was. There was something. Definitely wrong with Judaism. Even though it was God given. It was a temporal system.

[11:21] There is something wrong with every religion. That is why you can't afford. To work in religion. You have to work in relationship with God. Judaism.

[11:33] Jew said no. You cannot worship with us. Because. You are not born Jew. What have I done wrong? No you can't. You can't come into our country.

[11:43] Because you are born in a different country. But it's human. But in Christ. No one is rejected.

[11:56] In fact in chapter 1. Verse 7. It says. He has made us. To be accepted in the beloved. Yeah. When it comes to those. Who God love.

[12:07] You have added to them. What? He said. In him we have redeemed. To the praise of his glory. By which he made us. Accepted. In the beloved. In those.

[12:18] That are loved. Or in. In Christ himself. Say I'm accepted in Christ. I'm accepted in Christ. Accepted in the beloved. Accepted in the beloved.

[12:30] Now. He says that. But God. Who is rich in mercy. Because of his great love. Because of his great love. Watch this.

[12:42] With which. There's a certain type of love. He used to love us. And that love is a certain great love. With which. Loved us. In 1st John chapter 3 verse 1.

[12:55] He says that. Behold. What manner of love. What? What kind of love is this?

[13:06] I will worship you. Forever. Love you. Forever. Because. This God. Is too good.

[13:17] The songwriter said. Jesus loves me. This I know. For. The Bible. Sing into a mic. Little ones who here below.

[13:34] They are weak. But he is strong. Yes. Jesus loves me.

[13:46] Oh yes, Jesus loves me. Yes, Jesus loves me.

[13:59] The Bible tells me so. If you are in Christ, you are in Christ because, not because you behaved well.

[14:16] You are in Christ because, watch this, God loved. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son. John 3, 16. And in the one I was reading, 1 John 3, verse 1, it says that, Behold, what manner of love the Father has given, that we should be called the sons.

[14:35] We, who come and know you. Not you! But you are. Those who know you in the past are wondering, it's a mistake. The angels, demons are going to God.

[14:48] And they said, objection! Objection, my Lord! This one cannot be called your child! He's a bad boy! He has not! God said, shh! I don't know about that. My love has chosen.

[15:00] My love has chosen. So in 1 John 4, verse 9 and 10, it says that, Oh, this is a very powerful one. It says that, in this the love of God was demonstrated.

[15:14] Aha! In this, in what? How did God demonstrate His love? In this, the love of God was demonstrated towards us. That God has sent His only begotten Son into the world.

[15:28] That through Him, He said that we might have life through Him. That's just love. That's love. We are all dead! But Jesus came and now have love. God sent Him.

[15:39] Oh, I like the verse 10. The verse 10 is even stronger. Look at verse 10. He said, verse 10 says that, And this is love. Not that we love God. You see?

[15:50] You see? You don't have to do good before God can love you. I saw somebody recently, and the person came to church, and the person said, hmm.

[16:03] The friend was telling him, go and give your life to Jesus. He said, yeah, I really want to do it, but there's too much bad in my life. There's too much bad. I'm doing so many bad things.

[16:15] Like, somebody listening to me, you know. I'm doing so many bad things. I, I, no, it's not good. Go and accept me, and I'm not ready. Ah! And I told the person, there's never a day you'll ever be ready.

[16:30] You can never be ready, because you can't stop it. How many of you know, when you start some things, bad things, you actually don't slow it down. It goes higher. If you used to watch porn once a week, after you maintain it for two weeks or three weeks, it will definitely go to twice a week.

[16:53] Then after two weeks, some people only say one week. After two weeks, it goes to three times a week. Three times a week.

[17:04] I am. Before you could say Jack is every day. No. No. No. And some of you, I can see your eyes are red. You didn't sleep last night. No. Only God knows what you are watching.

[17:15] No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. No. with time.

[17:27] Unless maybe major crisis or trouble. I realize that some people don't even get changed by prison. Prison doesn't change many people.

[17:40] It happens then. But when you are in Christ, 2 Corinthians 5, verse 17. If any man be in Christ, he's a new creation.

[17:51] Wow. The old has passed. Behold, all things have become new. That's when you receive righteousness. It says that God demonstrated his love to us. That he sent his only begotten son to the world.

[18:03] That through him we might have life. There's a certain life you need to be able to live a certain life. Do you understand what I'm saying? You need a certain life. Happiness must always be induced.

[18:19] Something must cause you to be happy. That's the human nature. So if it's not alcohol, drugs, then those of us in church is the Holy Spirit and the Word of God.

[18:32] Bible says that not that we first loved him. 1 John chapter 4, verse 10. It's a serious thing. This is love. Not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his son to be...

[18:48] That's another word now. Can I break it down? Woo! I want to pour some Holy Ghost enzyme on it. To break it down.

[18:58] To make it assimilatable. So you can absorb it into your bloodstream. But before I break down propitiation, let me show you something in verse 19.

[19:10] Oh, he first loved us. We love... Why do we love him? I can't hear you. Why do we love Jesus? Why do we love him?

[19:24] You don't understand why I get so excited, animated, animated, passionate about Jesus. Because he first loved me. Because he first loved me. Because he first...

[19:35] He did it first. And his love has constrained me. Oh! 1 Corinthians. 2 Corinthians chapter 4, chapter 5, verse 14. He says that for the love of Christ...

[19:46] Strange. But love of Christ compares us. The reason why some of us won't be able to do some things freely, some sins partake in it freely, because of the love of Christ.

[20:02] The love of Christ. The way he loved us, we can't put it in the bin. Please sit down. Please sit down. Sometimes, you want to do something to somebody, and it's not maybe, it's not nice.

[20:17] But you look at the way this person has loved you, because of that, you are just restrained. Yes. I can't do this. No. I can't do this to her. I can't do this to him. I can't do this.

[20:28] Why? Because the love they have shown you, compels you. That's how if you really met Jesus, the love of Christ compels you. There are a lot of people in church who have not met Jesus.

[20:42] They are just in church, religious people. They have not met Jesus. So stop boasting, I used to be in church, I've been to church. Hey! Please. The version that you went to is not church.

[20:55] You can be coming to Caris and still not in church. Come on. Please, it's not attendance or church that make you a Christian. It's Christ in your heart.

[21:08] It's Christ you love. Whom have you not seen, he love. I love Jesus. He said, the love you have for Jesus never started from you. He first, 1 John chapter 4 verse 19, he first loved us.

[21:24] And his love provoked a reaction. His love provoked. A corresponding reaction from us.

[21:37] Because he loved us. He loves us. Listen, I want to say something to somebody probably you haven't thought about. There's nothing worse you can do which when you come to God, he won't receive you.

[21:52] When you come in the name of Jesus, he will never reject you. So I'm trying to tell you, never, okay, okay. I've been around a little while and people will sometimes say, you know, I don't want to be a hypocrite.

[22:07] I don't want to be a hypocrite. The fact that you are struggling with your commitment to God and church doesn't mean you are a hypocrite. You've gone so low, now you think lying on the floor is your portion.

[22:22] How many of you have fallen before? You're walking and you fell. You stumble and fell. Especially when you're a child. You fall. But you don't lie on the floor and say no, this is why I don't want to attend walking again because I'm a failure. You don't do that.

[22:34] You don't do that. You fall. What do you do? You just get up. But the older you are, the more you have to be careful you don't fall. because you see, when a child falls, it doesn't affect too much.

[22:50] When an older person falls, it affects a lot. A lot, how many of you know, a lot of grandparents die because they fell in the bathroom? Yeah. A lot of older people, like advanced in age, in their 80s and 90s, 90s, when you hit 90s, you don't, you have to use a bath.

[23:14] You use bathroom, you walk in, shower. Wet room, yeah. You need a wet room. You don't want to fall. The point I'm making is that it doesn't matter how low you go, run back to Christ.

[23:27] Do me a favor, tell somebody, it looks like they are talking to you. Yeah. Run back to Christ. Because of his great love with which he loved us, for God so loved the world.

[23:44] Romans chapter 5 verse 8, it said, God demonstrated his love to us this way. In that whilst we were still yet sinners, Christ died for us.

[23:55] Wow. Wow. Now let me, let me just expound on this propitiation thing. Today I just wanted to talk about the love of God. I'm no one that preaches a lot about the love of God because some people are taking Mickey or Mickey.

[24:09] God is love. God, if God is love, why would he send people to hell? Because God is just. So what you reap, you have to sow.

[24:20] If you reject Jesus, you have chosen hell by default. If you reject Jesus, you will burn in hell. How can you say that? I didn't say it. The Bible said it.

[24:33] So, 1 John chapter 4 verse 10, I want to touch on the propitiation. Say propitiation.

[24:44] Propitiation. All right. It says that, and this is love. Not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his son to be the propitiation for our sins.

[24:59] What does that mean? So sins, sins must be paid for. The Bible says the wages of sin is dead. If you sin, you must pay for your sins.

[25:11] But if I'm owing God, how much can I pay? How many of us here are perfect? Let me see, anyone perfect, perfect, anybody here? Perfect.

[25:21] You are not. Hallelujah. None of us is perfect. But God, who is rich in mercy, loved us.

[25:32] Now, sins must be paid for. Sins you are not perfect, that means you can never finish paying for your sins. Wow. What is propitiation? Propitiation is appeasement to placate, you know, to, I stepped on your toes and I sport your shoes and I have to go and buy you another shoe or fix the shoe to make you, to satisfy you.

[26:02] So sometimes, when somebody is very angry because, okay, let me give you an illustration, someone takes your phone and smashes it.

[26:14] Oh, it's my only phone. Hey, I'm upset. And he said, don't worry, don't. Somebody, his father said, don't worry, I'll buy you the latest and I'll even add 3,000 pounds to it.

[26:25] Ah, ah, you said, I have another one, can I bring it for you to see? Now watch this, you were so upset, upset until someone offered you a better version and, it's a compensation which, which makes you never feel you've lost.

[26:43] That's what propitiates. You are, you don't have a problem again. Now God has a problem with our sins. Who propitiates God? Who is going to say God? God, no, listen, listen, I know you are God of justice.

[26:54] Even though you are loving, you are also justice, just. So you, justice must be carried out and what this person has done, who can pay for it? No one can pay. So God is, ah, ah, ah, ah, yes, he's always angry.

[27:08] God is always angry. God is always loving. God is always merciful. God is always gracious. Whatever God is, he's always so. He's not, at times he's loving, at times he's angry.

[27:20] No, God is always angry. It depends on where you are coming from. So Bible says that the wrath of God is revealed from heaven. Romans chapter 1, verse 18.

[27:34] The wrath of God is revealed from heaven. So God has wrath. Do you understand that? At the other time, we saw in Ephesians, the objects of his wrath. Ephesians chapter 5. Some people are objects of his wrath.

[27:46] So God has anger. And yet, somebody has to appease God. God is okay. God is okay. God is okay. God is okay. Leave me. Leave me. Leave me. Hebrews chapter, Hebrews chapter 9, verse 28.

[27:57] He didn't die for himself. He died for our sins. It's there. So Christ was offered once to bear, you see how? Why was he offered? Offered. Why was he offered? Once. How many times? Once. To bear the sins of many.

[28:10] That's why he came. To bear our sins. So in Romans chapter 3, verse 24, it talks about how, Romans 3, 24. Romans 3, 23 says that, the wages of sin is dead.

[28:21] And the gift of God is, the wages of sin is dead. Sorry, I'm sorry. For all have sinned and are falling short of the glory. Look at verse 24. Verse 24 says that, being justified, ah, did we have to pay for our justification?

[28:37] No. is free. Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in, there is redemption in Christ and that's what brings our justification. Now look at, look at the next verse.

[28:49] It shows more light on it. Verse 25. Whom? That's Christ. God sent forth as what? As what? As what? God sent Christ forth as propitiation.

[29:02] Now, these are terms that many modern-day Christians do not understand. And you read your Bible, you come across propitiation and you think it's a Chinese food. So you continue reading. You have to take your time.

[29:12] Find out, what's the meaning of propitiation? Because when you understand it, it makes the message stronger. John Monique, no one can just come and tell you that, redefine Jesus for you because you have met him for yourself.

[29:24] He says that, God sent Jesus forth. Whom? God sent him forth as a propitiation by his blood. So the propitiation took place when he sacrificed his blood.

[29:35] Does that make sense? When Peter said, you cannot go and die, Jesus said, Satan, get behind me. You are trying to block the work of God. Because the purpose of his coming was to die on the cross for our sins, not for himself.

[29:48] Not for 1 Peter 3, verse 17. He died for our sins. He gave himself for us. For Christ also suffered once for sins. Do you see that?

[29:59] He died, suffered once for sins. The just, he was the just. For the unjust, that he might bring us to God. Oh, hallelujah. There was a way between us and God.

[30:10] If you are in Christ, you are back to God. That's the essence of the propitiation. God, God was angry with you. The wrath of God is against you. The wrath of God.

[30:22] But Christ died on the cross to appease God. In Isaiah chapter 53, verse 11, and verse 12. Isaiah chapter 53, verse 11, and verse 12 said, he shall see the neighbor of Christ's soul.

[30:34] His, is he Christ? His. The neighbor, the travail of his soul and be satisfied. God was satisfied when he saw the way Christ paid for sins. He suffered for sins. God said, now my justice have been met.

[30:49] So he opened the door. Whosoever believes in him, come to me. Propitiation. So, in 1st John chapter 2, verse 2, I'm running up in a minute.

[31:01] 1st John chapter 2, verse 2, he said, and he himself, it's all, why is it that Christians don't know these things? We only know prosperity.

[31:13] Seven steps to marriage. A lot of pastors are destroying the work of God. With their kind of preaching, they've been preaching regularly. So people have been in church for more than three months, more than six months, and they don't know about Jesus.

[31:30] What kind of Christian is this? If you know about Jesus, you must be rich in the works he's done. Know about his works. That's, it's called the riches of Christ. Here, he says that, and he himself is the propitiation for our sins.

[31:45] Have you noticed that when you see propitiation, sin shows up? Because what, what, God cannot just say, oh, you're a fine boy, you're a good man, so I'm forgiving you.

[31:57] On what grounds? On what grounds? Mercy is not enough. Oh, oh. I'll say that again. Just pure mercy. Raw mercy is not enough.

[32:09] So, how many of you know someone whose car has been clamped before? When they clamp your car, you know, do you know what they say? They say, don't you have any relative or friend you can ask to pay for?

[32:20] Because we are taking the car away. And when we take it, it's more expensive. Then people begin to call. When they clamp your car, they say, ask your friend or somebody because it's getting, it's going to get worse.

[32:32] It's going to get worse. So you have to find, someone must pay for it. And so if you are owing God and you can't pay for it, you have to be called, God cannot say, it's okay, it's okay, it's okay. Who will take, who will punish Hitler?

[32:44] Look at what Hitler did. Why should he go and if God just forgives anyhow, why should he, why should he forgive you and not forgive Hitler? Where are you?

[32:56] Maybe you are worse, but you don't have money and you don't have influence. But maybe if you have that influence, you would have done more. Human beings are human beings. At the point in time, Hitler was young like you.

[33:07] So God cannot just get up and say, I'm a merciful God. It doesn't matter what you are doing. You are forgiven. No! There must be grounds because he's, he has been offended and his wrath has been provoked.

[33:23] Something must appease his wrath. Must appease his God. You can't use goats because you can't, you can't take, you can't take my pen. Okay, my shoe.

[33:34] Let's say my shoe costs 100 pounds. And you, you've taken my shoe and you say, oh, I need my shoe. You say, oh, you can't take the pen. And the pen is five pounds. You can't use a goat to pay for a human being.

[33:47] So the sacrifices of goats and bulls they were doing, it wasn't paying for it. In Hebrews chapter 10, verse 4, it says that the sacrifice, the blood of goats and bulls, it says that for it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

[34:04] It's not possible. Why were they doing? Because there's just something temporal that seemed to cover it so that God can deal with them. Until the one, behold the Lamb of God. Hallelujah.

[34:16] John chapter 1, verse 29, behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sins. He's the only one who can take away sins. How can he do? He took away sins. He said, he took away sins and placated God.

[34:28] He propitiated God. God said, for once, I can look at you and relate with you again. Romans chapter 5, he said that we have peace with God now.

[34:43] Romans chapter 5, verse 1 and 2, said, having therefore been justified by faith, we have peace with God. How? Through the Lord Jesus Christ. We have peace. The reason why some people behave the way they behave when you mention church and mention Christ is because they don't have peace with God.

[34:57] They run as far as possible. But those of us who have peace with God, when we hear you say hallelujah, we come alive, oh yeah, hallelujah, hallelujah. I love Jesus. I have peace with God.

[35:08] I don't run away from God because my sins have been washed by the blood of Jesus. That's what the blood of Jesus and that was an act of love. Mercy cannot just be raw. Somebody must meet the justice of God for him to show mercy.

[35:22] Am I making sense? So Christ met the justice of God so that when you come to God, he will show you mercy because someone has taken care of their death. God is merciful but because of his love that he has for us.

[35:40] Even when we're dead in our transgressions, that's what Ephesians said now. Even when we're dead in our transgressions, Christ died for us. If you allow me, I'll go on because I love talking about this.

[35:51] That's the essence of Christianity. It's not getting money. He's not passing exams. He's not buying a house. If I see a Christian who said my biggest dream is to buy a five-bedroom house, I say you are not serious Christian.

[36:08] Your biggest dream is that you'll be filled with Christ and Christ will be revealed in through you. That you should know Christ. Ephesians chapter 2, verse 4.

[36:23] But God, who is rich in mercy because of his great love towards us, verse 5, even when we were dead in trespasses, he made us alive together with Christ.

[36:38] By grace, you have been saved. Next week, I'll go on. By grace, you have been saved. By grace, you have been saved. Did you receive something? Come on, give Jesus grace.
