[0:30] And you will not miss it. In the mighty name of Jesus. Well, when you are trying to, I don't know how many of you have tried to catch a bus before.
[0:48] Or a train. Or maybe a plane. But you are catching a bus and how many of you have missed a bus before? Or a train.
[1:02] When you miss a bus, what do you do? You go. What do you do? Wait for the next one. So, the TFL has put in some systems so that even if you miss a bus, you can wait for the next one.
[1:20] Yeah. So, every time we have this kind of prayer, somebody is about to catch a flight. Why do we keep having it?
[1:32] Because sometimes some miss it. So, you might miss last year's January 1st. Because if you had not missed it, maybe by now you would have bought a house.
[1:44] Or married or, you know, something. So, sometimes. Or your job, your career, something. Because God actually answers prayers.
[1:56] Else it would be waste for us to be here. God is a prayer answering God. So, Jesus said, when you pray. Because prayer is a when. He actually puts it this way.
[2:06] Men always ought to pray and not to faint. If you saw God do it last time, then you have to pray because there's even more he's going to do.
[2:18] And I believe something good is going to happen to somebody. So, every season God gives us. You remember the scripture that talks about in John chapter 5.
[2:33] That an angel goes to stir the waters. The stirring of the water is not once and for all. It's seasonal. So, God always.
[2:43] That's why there's not only one winter in life. There are several. Depending on how long you live. If you live 200 years, you will see 200 winters.
[2:55] If you live 80 years, you will see 80 winters. Every year will come with a winter. Because cycles. Seasons are cycles. So, I am saying this to let somebody know.
[3:08] That this year is coming with a package for you. But how many of you know if you keep missing a bus, the same, keep missing it.
[3:20] To get to a time that is not necessary to go again. Because wherever you are going, they've closed. So, you cannot keep missing and missing and missing and missing and missing.
[3:34] So, some of us, this flight must work for you. What I'm trying to say is you must of a necessity be on this flight.
[3:46] You must fly high through this fasting. And I see God. When you say yes, God will not say no. So, I want to give you a few things to do to maximize this moment so you don't miss a flight.
[4:06] Do you understand? There are things that you can be here and miss a flight. But there are things you can do which will give you the opportunity not to miss a flight.
[4:19] This particular flight. How many of you know you can check in and the luggage is checked in at the airport and still miss a flight?
[4:30] Because you were doing shopping at Duty Free. Quite a few people have missed their flights because the security, going through the security, they didn't go on time and they missed their flights.
[4:47] So, you can be at the airport having checked in and still miss your flight. You can check in with the fasting and still miss a flight. But I pray that will not be your story.
[5:00] So, there are a few pointers I have here on what to do to maximize this season of fasting. What to do to maximize this season of fasting.
[5:13] Number one, many people don't realize that prayer is more effective, fasting is more effective when there is a personal desire behind it.
[5:30] So, Jesus said in Mark chapter 11, I think 24 or so. He said, whatsoever ye desire, when you pray.
[5:46] So, that means that prayer is a medium to express your desire. Does that make sense? Prayer is a medium to express your desire.
[5:57] So, first of all, for you to see effectiveness in prayer and fasting, there must be desire. I want something to happen for me.
[6:10] I want it to happen for me. So, sometimes you try and help people if they don't have their desire to win. You can pray deliverance for people who don't intend to want to be delivered.
[6:23] And so, to maximize this moment, you must have a desire that God, I believe you do this thing, you do it for me. I want you to do it for me.
[6:34] I want it. I want it. I'm believing you. Let this fasting. Let this flight be my flight. Let this flight be. So, it even tells in your attitude coming here. In your attitude towards the fasting.
[6:47] In your attitude, sometimes, how many of you felt hungry today? Today was kind of a bit rough, isn't it? Yeah. Very, very hungry.
[7:01] Especially, especially if you remember the activities of the previous days. Many people were tired today.
[7:12] Especially those who are very active in church, like the music team. Praise night was bad for the music ministry. Because it's very intense.
[7:23] Then Sunday, come to church very early in the morning. And then do praise again. And sit down. Some of us will get home late. You wish you can rest a bit on Monday.
[7:35] Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So, you wake up this morning and you start fasting. And you feel the drain. You feel the pull. What can make you keep going?
[7:46] One of the major things is desire. Desire. When you look at what you are believing God for, some things are not too much. Coming to church for prayer every day is not too much.
[7:59] Because you know what you are believing God for. And I know my Redeemer, my Levit. Coming and making sure you are seated early. And when you come and you are seated, you start praying. Whether they start a prayer or not.
[8:11] You have come to meet God. This God of heaven, this flight must be my flight. God must do it for me. Heaven must visit me. Heaven must change my story. Heaven must do it. You must have a desire.
[8:24] Desire. Number one, desire. Someone say desire. Desire. Number two, participation. If you have a desire, you must participate in what we are doing.
[8:37] Don't come and sit down and chewing gum and watching people pray. When we say, somebody shout hallelujah. I say, oh. Yeah. When someone is leading prayer, he says, let's not pray.
[8:53] You really are sitting there waiting for God's heaven to come. So, you are not participating. Some people don't have any plan to join the fasting.
[9:06] Participate. Participate. Unless for major health reasons. Participate. One, two, three, four, five.
[9:18] You need this theme as well for you this year. Yes. Because time is of the essence.
[9:31] What was it? I was talking. Oh, yesterday I met a friend. He was talking to me. He said when he was writing his GCSE, he said he wrote his GCSE in Ghana.
[9:43] He said when he was writing his GCSE, he was 15 years old. And he said there was this old man sitting, elderly man.
[9:58] No, this guy is not, he shouldn't be a student. He's not. So out of curiosity, he said how old are you? He said I'm 30 years old. He said what are you doing here? When you wait too late, it gets to a time it will be too late.
[10:13] Listen, brothers and sisters, this fasting, I see. Because this year is a unique year. It will show in your story. It will show in your story.
[10:28] So, how to maximize this moment, this season, these times? Number one, desire. Number two, participation. Get involved.
[10:39] Don't stay at home. Don't say, I mean, I will come only Monday and Friday. But what are you doing the rest of the days? Oh, I just want to, because now it is the weather, the weather. I just want to stay at home and be doing my own prayers.
[10:51] Participate in what we are doing. Be part of it. Plan to be part of it throughout. And I pray that God will extend it to 80 something.
[11:01] Those are good days. But be intentional about the fasting.
[11:12] That I will fast. I'm going to participate. I'm going to make sure every part of what is going on, I'm part of it. Because I'm supposed to be part of the celebration.
[11:23] I'm supposed to be part of the testimony. My testimony in it. So I'm going to be fully part of it. Say amen. And I see that happening for you in Jesus' name. I see that happening for you in Jesus' name.
[11:37] Number three, you need a sense of focus. Focus. Focus. All right. You have to focus. Focus.
[11:48] Focus. So when we come and we are praying. Or let's say we come and we are praying. One of the things that bothers me is people who get distracted. When people, others are praying, you are watching the way they are shaking their head.
[12:02] Is it admiral? That thing that they put in the car. Churchill. It's Churchill. Yeah. Someone is praying and it reminds you of Churchill.
[12:14] So you stop praying and you are admiring this guy. I like the way he believes. No. You have to be determined not to be distracted. Because distraction is natural.
[12:27] Normal. It can come to any of us. But you have to be so determined that I will stay focused. I will stay focused. I will stay focused. I will stay focused. Nothing will distract me. Nothing will divert my attention.
[12:40] I will stay focused on what is happening. At least it's three weeks. All these three weeks. I will dedicate my attention and make sure. Look at how the scripture is concerning the word of God.
[12:52] It said, give attention to my word. Focus. One great man of God said, The reason why people fail is broken focus.
[13:05] Broken focus. So it's important we focus. Number four. This is a very important bit. That it is a major determining factor in Christian testimony.
[13:19] In procuring personal testimony. Regularity. Be regular.
[13:30] Be regular. Or you can't even talk about consistency. Consistency.
[13:42] Regularity. You are regular. You are regular. You are regular. You are regular. You are regular. Somebody say regularity. Regularity.
[13:52] Say I intend to be regular. I intend to be regular. Regularity also means as much as it lies in your power, you are always determined to be here on time. As much as some people are coming straight from work.
[14:06] And it's practically not possible to get here. Let's say seven. Some people can't get here for seven. But let's say if where you live from your house to church, it will take 40 minutes.
[14:19] And from work to your house is one and a half hours. And you finish work at five. And then when you go home to get yourself ready to take 15 minutes.
[14:33] Of course. And you are. So one and a half plus 15 is 145 plus another 40. What do you get? 25, right?
[14:46] So by the time you realize. From 5 p.m. You have 225. Two hours, 25 minutes.
[14:56] If you add it to 5 p.m. You get to church for 725. It's not going to advantage you. So why don't you schedule that from work. You get to church early.
[15:09] If it works for you. Unless there are different dynamics. Domestic dynamics. Does that make sense? Yeah. One day. I've said this here before. But let me say it again. One day my dad told me something.
[15:21] I was late for school. And he doesn't like me being late for school. And every now and then I'll be late for school. And that's why I was even late for the plane. That I almost missed the plane.
[15:33] See what you do when you're a child. You can grow with it if you don't deal with it. There are things your wife has been complaining about.
[15:44] She's not the first person to start. Your mother, your sisters have been complaining the same things. There are things your husband. There are things your flatmate, your roommate were complaining about.
[15:56] How you don't clean up. They are not the first to complain. Well, I might say something strange. Why are you looking at me so strange? What we are from childhood, we usually don't change.
[16:11] Yeah. So when you want to marry somebody, try and always go around them with family. And keep quiet. Let the family talk. You will hear something that they will not tell you.
[16:23] By the way, that's... So my dad told me. And I got to school late. And I was punished. So when I came home, something I was telling my dad.
[16:34] Because I was late. He said, but why were you late? I said, because the journey to my school is far. He said, don't tell me that nonsense. He said, let's say from here to Birmingham.
[16:47] If you want, if you from here you are going to Birmingham. And you want to get there for 6 a.m. You can make it. So it's not the distance. It's not the... Some of us, you used to live very far from church.
[17:01] And you used to be late. And then you moved close to church. And you are still late. Those who are usually late in church, when we even gain one hour, they are later.
[17:16] So, it's important to take some of these things into consideration. And sometimes, readjust your lifestyle and your priorities so you can be punctual and regular.
[17:27] Because there are some people, they have never been consistent with any good thing ever in their life for a period of time. So, why don't you start with this fasting period?
[17:38] Determine that you will remain consistent in every meeting. Break that cycle of inconsistency. Take advantage of this. Anyway, if you want to maximize the moment, you have to be consistent.
[17:51] There must be a sense of regularity. Number five. Anticipation. Or expectation.
[18:02] Why are you fasting without expecting that God is going to do something? Yesterday, I spoke about, when I was preaching, I spoke about a lady I met who wasn't feeling well.
[18:15] Traveled from far to church. After church, she came to me and said, Pastor, I've been healed. It's clear. The sickness is clear. I feel so good. I'm healed. She came with an expectation.
[18:28] Anticipation. That God. Listen, this year, if you are believing God for the fruit of the womb, this is the year to happen. If you are believing God for marital testimony, this is the year to happen. If you are believing God for a change of story, this is the year to happen.
[18:42] And it's going to start from now. Oh, I heard something. Pastor, as I stood here, I heard something in my spirit. That some people, it doesn't have to wait for tomorrow. Their testimony is starting from now.
[18:55] I heard in my spirit, 21 days is too far. Three days is too far. Two days is too far. I heard in my spirit, some people, it's starting from right now.
[19:06] Tonight is your night of miracle. So shall it be. Tonight is your night of supernatural turnaround. In the name of Jesus.
[19:17] Yes. Be expectant. Be expectant. The woman with the issue of blood, she said, I know that if I may touch his garment, I shall be.
[19:33] Mark 5, 28. Therefore, she said within herself, if I should touch, I'll be made whole. She was convincing herself. She did it with a certain expectation. Blind Bartimaeus, they said, keep quiet.
[19:46] He said, no, I won't keep quiet. Because he had this conviction that if I can keep shouting, something will change for me. Zacchaeus. In Luke chapter 19, Zacchaeus climbed a tree so he can see Jesus.
[19:59] Because he felt like if I can go a bit higher, I'll encounter Jesus. If I can go, Jesus said, because of you, this is your expectation. In fact, I'm going to stay in your house. Jesus took it further.
[20:11] Expectation. Don't come for the meeting to see what will happen. No. Come believing that something will happen for you. I've discovered many people who share testimonies.
[20:27] Many, many, most of the people who share testimonies, they see the hand of God. Are people who have an expectation. Remember, I told you the story. Oral Beth went to do a crochet somewhere, three days.
[20:39] And a woman traveled from one stage far and came. And it was healing crusade. A lot of people were healed. And when the crusade was ended, the last night, the woman was still not healed. So she said she wasn't going. She had to talk to Oral Beth.
[20:50] She managed to contact Oral Beth. He said, what is it? Oral Beth said, but they said, the meeting has finished. He said, no, God told me I'll be healed. So if I'm not healed, this meeting is not finished. I'll be healed. He said, I'll be healed.
[21:01] The man said, but we are finished. He said, you have to pray for me again because I know I'll be healed. I know when I was coming, I'll be healed. God told me I'll be healed. And the man said, okay, then receive according to your expectation. Receive it.
[21:11] And she received her instant healing. Your expectation will deliver your miracle into your hands. Receive your miracle. Receive your miracle.
[21:23] Receive your breakthrough. In the name of Jesus, please be seated. Things cannot be the same for you again. So how do you maximize the moment?
[21:38] Number one, desire. Number two, participation. Number three, focus. The focus is the fervency. You are dealing with this. Focus will generate fervency.
[21:49] And intensity. Have you noticed when we begin to pray, people who focus, they become very intense. You can't focus and not end up being intense. And Bible says that it is the fervent, effectual prayer of the righteous.
[22:04] That James chapter 5 and 16 and 17. There needs to be fervency. James 5, 16. It says that it is the fervent prayer of the effective, fervent prayer.
[22:17] Bible says in Romans chapter 12, 11 and 12. Being fervent in the spirit. Intense. Not lagging.
[22:28] This is fervent in spirit. Number four is regularity.
[22:40] Number five is anticipation. Number six is the all time master key. Faith. Faith is a master key. Faith can open any door.
[22:52] There are different keys to open different doors. Faith is the master key. It opens any door. Any door. Bible says that without faith, it's impossible to please God.
[23:05] This is how it's put. Hebrews chapter 11, verse 6. For he who cometh to God. Shaddai, shabbat, li'ah, matai. świadai. He said, have you chosen to come to God?
[23:15] Do you come without something? He didn't say offering. He didn't say prayer request. He didn't say don't come to God without prayer request. He didn't even say don't come to God without worship.
[23:28] He never said don't come to God without praise. He never said don't come to God without a petition. He never said don't come to God without sacrifices. but he said don't come without believing he who comes to god must is a necessary requirement applicants must have gcse english so if you don't have it that means that don't apply must so if without faith don't bother coming that's what god is saying are you coming to me you say okay come by faith else don't bother coming because it won't work faith why are you coming to church without faith in god when you have faith in god it's very difficult for offense to shift you out of alignment people who get shifted by offense is a sign of lack of faith oh you check it lack of faith lack of maturity offense is a sign of lack of faith because when you have faith some offense will try and come but where your focus is for god won't offend you god even if god does not job's wife said why don't you kiss god and die look at what you are going to just god doesn't care or whatever curse god and die and job said you speak like one of the foolish women so one of them there are quite a few of them i say you are like one of them joe said you speak like but he said to her that's because as one of the foolish women speakers the wife said curse god and die he said i don't care god and look at how far he went he said even though god slays me yet i'll trust him what he said even god even though if god kills me if he slays me yet will i trust him you see god trying to cut your throat and said do it i trust you that is faith talking though he slay me yet will i trust in him though he slays me i'll trust god so what i'm trying to say is that faith cannot be offended and strong faith cannot be disappointed so as you come how many of you have ever been ushered by an usher into a city you really didn't like it oh let me see my hands i mean it's happened to me a few times i'm not going to be a few times i went to shillow they want to put me i wasn't happy with the sin they they put me but i would take it like that but i wasn't happy and then later on god remembered me sometimes you like a certain type of seats you know depending on what kind of person you are i've always wanted front seats so i can be as close to the altar as possible some people too it's only back seat they want yeah so they come to church early there's a lot of space but they will sit at the back and then they will say first aid or i'm doing offering or something like it's just they don't want come oh wow okay so faith everybody say faith as you are coming believe in god i believe god i believe god i believe god i believe god look at the woman i spoke about ora roberts she said i'm supposed to be healed because god told me i believe god i'll be healed so conference has finished but she still said i believe god conference has ended but she said i still believe god god let your faith determine how far you push not what people think remember tomorrow they said shut up i said you don't know what i'm dealing with i'm dealing with faith so i'll be offended by what
[27:32] you're saying and rather he pushed mark chapter 10. he cried out the more i see your faith working for you so engage your faith say i'll engage my faith number seven right number six is faith and what faith also means is that see what god is doing don't look from the natural perspective you have to see what others are not seeing because faith can see faith sees the invisible i need to add this before i move on faith see so you are praying for um a certain type of miracle see it see as you are believing god let's be see it faith sees faith everybody say faith sees yeah bible talks about hebrew chapter 11 verse 26 by faith moses by faith mo no no no 26 i prefer 26 please it's 27 i'm looking for let's go 27 by faith moses forsook egypt not fearing the wrath of the king for he endured as seeing him who is invisible he's seeing him who is he saw what others can couldn't see moses by faith he could see so he did he was willing to risk his life and he what was says that he wasn't afraid of the anger of the king those days i mean a king when a king gets angry it can end your life god a king doesn't those monarchs don't do court he's the court he's the law so where is monarchy usually the is the king's way that is the law so if the king says no one should stand here that means that's the law if the king says everybody should go here that's the law if you do otherwise the king can execute you he can determine what and moses risked his life but he said by faith i have seen i can risk because of what i have seen do you understand what i'm saying faith ceases so as you are praying open your spiritual eyes see the see the world of possibility god is introducing you into and stop restricting yourself in what is happening around you what is that there is also a certain reality world of possibilities that god is about to introduce you to i don't know why i haven't been married for oh this while i've been waiting because if you are married maybe last two years or last year or last five years you would that the guy you are going to be married to he had he hadn't gotten his degree yet and he he likes wife so much if you marry him you won't do the masters you didn't know if he had been married he might have it might have not fed that because you would have been pregnant very early and he said no let me just look for job and take care of my wife so he wouldn't do a phd but the phd is going to take him to white house go take him to presidents and so god had to wait do you understand something so you must know that god has got your back covered god has got your back covered so watch this i i dare you to dare to see what others haven't seen i saw my children's contemporaries even though they were not born i dare because there's a reason why that's there dare to see your marriage dare to see your husband dare to see your future job that
[31:36] big business dare to see your ministry growing dare to see your house see that house see it see it you can see it you can see it in faith you have the permission to see physically you will see it but faithfully you can see what physical eyes cannot see haven't you heard that it says no i have seen neither has it entered the heart of any man the things that god has prepared it hasn't yet appeared so there are things that haven't appeared but there are realities there are realities for your future and as we come and we pray begin to by faith see it fast in faith fast in faith pray in faith do this in faith and don't let an unbeliever redefine what you are doing they don't have the working knowledge it's above their pay grade please be seated number seven let's go through it number one is what number two is what participation number three number three is focus number four is regularity number five anticipation number six faith number seven prompt obedience don't delay and this is your first thing there are things god will tell you to do god will tell you to call someone pick your phone call the person and tell the person i'm sorry god might tell you that forgive somebody god might tell you that call this person who is coming to do a wedding and tell her you you pay half of the price of her dress god she might think i'm being funny leave the thinking to them and do your with the one once you know god is come you are confident in your spirit what you shouldn't be doing is go around trying okay what's god telling me so you can look spiritual you won't get any results we're all for that you will suffer free of charge free of charge so you must engage in prompt obedience there are things god will tell you that disconnect from some people it's always like that there's no blessing that it hasn't got association dynamics attached to it every okay let me put it this way god blesses relationally so satan also curses relationally who your allies are will determine the quality and the nature of blessing you're working oh yes you cannot work with god and stay at the same level it doesn't work when you work with god he keeps increasing you because last year is not permitted by divine design to be better than this year yeah when you work with god your previous days are never permitted because he says it's from glory glory it's just what we're glory to you progress when you work with god so instead of making noise and work with god what we go show it two days are not enough that one we understand two months we can understand maybe two years something we can understand but five years seven years nothing has changed you are responsible you are responsible all right let's move on to the next next one is someone catching something so what was the last point prompt video prompt and i even went into yeah so sometimes god will tell you disconnect from some
[35:41] people you understand that's what sometimes god will tell you don't be engaging with them in conversations don't call them after church because every time when they move of god after tonight they will call and say you know what did you i think someone has told pastor something they will come they will come and so sometimes when god wants to help you he will instruct you he told abraham that's what the woman told me he said go to abraham leave your father's house he said go to the abraham there's a reason why god said leave your father's house after all that you are you are still going there and stay there and eating everything play with them be careful else you can compromise the greatness of what god has started doing they are your people but now god has claimed you for assignment some of you where god is going taking you to it's no more a matter of family it doesn't mean you dismiss your family no no no you can never but it's no more if a matter of family and they might not be able to appreciate where god is taking you to let alone friends hey he's the one who brought me to church so what so what if he has divorced his wife does that mean you should also divorce your wife is someone learning sapiato oh he's my cousin we grew up together we came to church together but listen where you are going he's not going with you where god is taking you he will always tell you watch that relationship relationship will determine your nature the nature of your blessing why god blesses relationally so i don't know who i'm talking to this isn't work in prompt obedience sometimes god ask you sow a seed oh yes oh yes it takes a certain heart of obedience to walk in certain promptness when god prompts when god tells you yes seats one of the things i realize god likes doing is asking us to forgive people he also likes asking us to apologize and he likes asking us to give because all these things you lose it's like you lose something something that you like to hold on to live your life that is a test of spirituality your ability to forgive your willingness to let go or apologize and your ability to give regularly and wildly yes hallelujah we don't take offerings we don't give our friends and we don't take offerings these mondays and but you have to make a commitment that i can never come to god's house without doing a seat it's my custom it's my custom prompt obedience hey i've preached very long is it doing somebody good prompt obedience i want to say probably what kind of what kind of fasting and prayer you are is this that you are doing you you can't hear any instruction from god you haven't fasted when you go close to god the first thing you hear is an instruction and sometimes it might not be a palatable palatable palatable instruction always god will give you an instruction break up with that girl break up with that girl break up with that girl don't wait for tomorrow first day of the fasting break break up with that boy break up break it
