How to Walk by Faith, Not by Sight

[0:00] hallelujah we thank god you've tuned into this message by david entry at caris church no hand can help you with the fulfillment of your destiny but the word of god may god's hand align you further into your destiny through this word second corinthians chapter 5 verse 7 for we walk by faith not by sight shall we all read it a lot let's read it out together let's go second corinthians chapter 5 verse 7 let's go for we walk by faith not by sight one more time let's go now from the test we just read the scripture say the just the righteous the christian the one who is working with god they only do it by faith second corinthians chapter 5 verse 7 the only way we do it we who walk with god the only way we do it is by faith faith is the hypostasis that's the greek word hypostasis hypostasis there's something theologians call the uh um hypostasis that's when jesus christ became flesh and god as they said the hypostatic union theologians call hypostasis that's two uh um one person but two natures a person substance has to do with something tangible or another way of trans trans translating substance or trans translating substance the greek word is the one of the greek word translated substance is hypostasis is also can be translated person faith is the person it's the substance hypostasis dead so faith is not just an idea is substantial even though it's not physically tangible it is spiritually substantial it's something that is it faith is hebrew chapter 11 verse 1 now faith is not was not will be faith is so if someone is walking by faith he's walking by something that is reliable something that is substantial something that is authentic something that is credible so when they say faith versus science what's the meaning of that we first of all you don't even know what faith is that's why you are saying versus science faith is super science because science is observations of facts observations of vocaries repeatable vocaries you observe observe faith is also predictable repeatable you can you can observe that so faith is not like a figment of somebody's imagination and thinking okay maybe maybe no faith is not maybe faith is not maybe maybe to happen maybe to no no that's not faith faith is an assurance it's an evidence of things not things that physically hasn't hasn't uh haven't appeared is that is the convictions of things not sin i know it's there i haven't seen it but i have this assurance christian church is like family people who run away from family always come back shattered because god in his wisdom respects family bible say he puts the solitude in families in the book of psalm he puts the solitude in families there's nobody who doesn't have a family even jesus when he was coming he needed a family mother and father god says the solitude in families psalm 68 verse 6 to the standard god's favorite description of himself is god the father faith is the evidence the convictions of the things that is not seen you can't tell me you

[4:05] are walking by faith and every time you are sad i don't know why you should know why nothing is what's the meaning of that what's the meaning of that you don't have to see it before you be happy blessing start from having not seen but believe john chapter john chapter 20 verse 29 28 29 he says because you have seen me you believe blessed are those who have not seen and yet blessing starts from their own sin he said whom having not seen yet believing first peter chapter 1 verse 8 talking about this whom having not seen you love though now you do not see him yet believing you don't see him yet you believe that is the starting point of real blessing real blessing is believing what god has said and banking your life on it even though you have been seen and so when others are crying you are still still smiling they are crying up and moaning about the same situation you are smiling about the same situation didn't jesus say lazarus our friend is asleep asleep asleep let us go die awake in verse 9 i think it's now john chapter 11 let us go so i wake him verse 11 says that did i not say after that uh that our friend lazarus is asleep i go that i'm awake then verse verse 3 and verse 4 verse 5 but i think it's verse 5 when he was first told that this lazarus was dead then he tells the disciples therefore resistance then he tells the disciples that lazarus is asleep let us go that i wake him he told them that he's asleep let us go that i awake him and they are wondering but if he's asleep he will wake do you have to travel all these miles to go and wake him up say okay you didn't get what i'm trying to talk about but for your sake let me let me speak in plain language let me drop the frequency i'm in the frequency but let me speak your language whilst i stay in that frequency so you have to speak their language you have to understand god's language when people are saying it is over god say it's the beginning you can't be walking by faith and sinking in the face of people you can't be walking by faith and sinking and the bible said we walk by faith because faith is a substance so we walk with certain substances others cannot see oh i got substance why are you crying like someone who doesn't have god why are you here to be marinated by the word of god infused with the word of god at every point when that is done anything destiny will be attracted to you yeah seek ye first the kingdom of god and israel chosen and all these things all these things that these others are dying to get that these others are fighting together there will be you fight it will be added it will be added it will be added for we walk by faith and not by sight we walk by faith not by sight look at someone tell the person we walk by faith and not by sight if i tell you quickly how to walk by faith we got to know what it means to walk by sight because we don't walk by sight that is how everybody walks naturally naturally people walk by sight and it's

[8:10] not a crime it is actually common sense it is common sense to walk by sight sight there means sensory perception you can feel you can taste you can touch you can smell you can hear you can feel you can taste you can smell you can see you can touch these are your natural senses anybody whose senses stop working is comatose coma when someone is in coma you hit them they don't mind you they will forgive you they live in forgiveness normal you insult them they won't mind you it's fine it's fine you inject them it's fine they don't feel hungry when somebody is is in coma their senses have shut down they are not dead but senses are not working so you need your senses to live you need your senses to live for life to continue if you feel there is fire if you don't respond to stimuli as biology says if you don't respond to stimuli then the nerves are dead you have been desensitized when a place becomes numb it doesn't respond to stimuli or it doesn't respond to pain so usually when paramedics come and someone is in a first of all they will ask you a question to to just check your coordination they ask your name they ask you hello say yeah how are you oh i'm excited i'm fantastic what's your name where do you live those of you who have undergone general anesthesia before once they put you to sleep they keep talking to you to know where how far you are gone it's a countdown they speak they keep talking to you by the time you realize because your senses are not working and that's why they have to deaden your ability to respond to senses before they can do certain type of surgeries in the same way naturally we all walk by senses but the bible says we those who are of god those who have the god kind of victory sensories are not the only thing we live by so major decisions of our life is not based on how i feel paul wouldn't have told them you should have listened to me and not to have sailed from crates because the decision the man the owner of the ship made was based on sensory perception they checked and they checked and realized that meteorological report tells them that it is safe to sail it is safe to say but paul had another higher sense he could sense some things that are beyond the ability for the natural apparatus to pick up and he told them from higher higher perspective from inner room upper room god's chamber throne room perspective he told them i can perceive this journey is going to become odious but they didn't listen to him because everything was going okay if you walk by senses then you succumb to the fact that your biological clock is ticking if you walk by senses then all what the doctors say is final if you walk by faith what the doctors say do you you understand what they mean however you know there's another possibility so you don't say the doctor said if i if i drink coke i will choke and so no i will drink coke

[12:13] because i don't believe in what no no that's not what it means that's not what it means it means that what they said is if i drink coke or if if i eat egg i will bleed if i eat egg meanwhile where you live the only thing you can afford is egg so what do you do do you go and eat egg no faith tells you the doctors have said it that means they have seen a condition it's not egg there's a condition you believe god that this thing this condition is not final it's about to be healed it's about to be overcome and you you stand on the word and believe god even though i'm not eating egg now very soon i'll start eating even though i'm not eating egg now i know i will eat i'll come back i'll resume my egg eating ministry so you keep checking the price of egg you don't say well i go to the shop nowadays i don't go to egg session again because no you keep checking i'll come back i'll be back i'll be back i'll be back i'll be back why because there is a higher reality that you know is possible based on a word you have discovered if there's no word behind that decision that aspiration that expectation it is positive thinking it's not faith and there is no guarantee for delivery based on positive thinking so we walk by faith and not by sight means that sometimes you can see things that seem to suggest to you that all hope is lost but it doesn't mean all hope is lost bible says and the word of the lord came to elijah in first case chapter 18 first case chapter 18 you keep seeing and the word and it came to pass that the word of the lord came to elijah in the third year saying go present yourself the word of the lord keeps coming and so when you see conditions that are not conducive for your destiny for what god has said like paul in the high seas there was shipwreck and there was no hope but in the midst of the darkness bible says that no sunlight appeared for 14 days that's a serious situation no sun now when neither sun nor stars not even just the sun no stars appeared for many days and no small tempest beat on us all hope that we will be saved was finally given up there's no hope but in the midst of that precarious situation an angel of the lord came with him with a word from the lord and so it was the word he received from the lord that made him tell the people that be of good cheer be of good cheer they had loved hope everybody had loved hope but paul was no more walking by sight paul was not walking by sight he was walking by facts spiritual facts the spiritual facts was god has told me so now we walk by faith not by sight how do you walk by faith then how do you walk by faith and not by sight quickly number one keep feeding why because romans chapter 10 verse 17 says faith comes faith cometh faith comes by hearing and what and hearing did you see that that that's already are from the screen let's go one more time how does faith come how does faith come

[16:15] something is just by hearing no it's hearing and hearing of the word of god hearing and hearing and hearing and hearing once have you spoken twice have i heard that all power belongs to god he spoke but we heard and heard that's what i heard so faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of god hearing by the word of god hearing so that means how do you walk by faith now this is different from just talking on how do generation you generate faith by the word of god but you walk by faith it's a walk because you can you can stand by faith it's good to stand by faith but we walk by faith so quit ye as men oh yes be strong first corinthians chapter 16 verse 13 quit watching stand fast in the faith quit ye as men be strong stand fast in the faith when we talk about faith walk walk is one step after the other one step after the other there's a difference between the two of us as long as activities are concerned which of us is standing which of us is walking stand which of us is walking and which of us is standing praise god you can stand by faith but bible says that we walk that means one step after the other if you are looking for someone who is walking don't look at one place videography will tell you when you are filming a moving object you have to have a stand or something that is mobile because you can't have it one and expect the moving object to be captured there when you go and do portraits you don't move you stand still if you have taken passport pictures before you have to stand still and take the picture but when it comes to walking satan struggles to track you if you walk by faith he can't predict next move he can't predict the next move he can't he can't track you and say he knows you are going to be here but when you are walking by faith your signals from are from above your signals are from above and you take steps inspired from above we walk by faith and not by sight you can be walking by sight and drown in sight but we walk by faith you can never drown walking by faith to walk by faith number one it means keep feeding because faith comes by hearing and hearing hearing and hearing so if first faith came by hearing and hearing the next faith must come by hearing and hearing the next one must come by the other one must come by so if you want to walk one faith step after another face step you keep hearing and hearing and hearing and hearing and hearing keep feeding on god's word else your spirit man is emaciated and faith is of the spirit before it's of the mind faith is of their spirit spiritual people don't struggle to walk by faith can now people struggle to walk by faith they always complain when you give them when you give

[20:17] kind of people faith instruction the first reaction is complain when you give spiritual people faith instruction the first reaction is yes because they see it they see it they see it when you when the word of god speaks to you you know yes it's possible it's possible it will be done didn't keller and joshua he said if god said we were going to get a place let's go we are able while the others oh no god is about to kill us this one is too much for us we cannot stop that keller joshua and keller they stopped them and said if god said we should let's go we can see it's happening it's possible it's possible but for you to see it possible you need to be spiritual and because faith is of this it's the same spirit of faith so that means that you need to feed your inner man man must not live by bread alone if you live by bread alone you walk by sight alone but for you to walk by faith you have to feed on the word of god so number one keep feeding some of us don't read our bibles regularly and you want to walk by faith i i i quite feel disappointed by that aspiration because faith is not assumption it's no mental projection faith is of the spirit feed your spirit man how many of you have attempted to walk by faith and you realize this thing is nowhere i want to but i don't think i can i want how many of you have ever felt like that before yes because if you try it with your mind you will not be able to do it because it will be too scary it will be too threatening so number one you have to stay on the meal keep feeding keep letting the word of god come reading it hearing it reading it hearing it reading it hearing it reading it hearing it studying it hearing it memorizing it hearing it you keep let let the word of god stay on your mind faith will come naturally faith is natural to the one who embraces the word of god when you embrace the word of god the first thing that happens is not blessings it's faith faith that will empower you to walk away and then the blessing follows number one if you want to work if we have to walk by faith number one number one number one keep feeding number two to walk by faith what do we do number two stay focused stay focused because distractions will come matthew chapter 14 verse 27 down was peter they saw jesus walking on the sea and then when jesus got close jesus immediately jesus spoken they initially verse 26 they thought it was a ghost they said it's a ghost it's a ghost it's a ghost hey it's a ghost they cried out it's a ghost it's a ghost then jesus wanted to calm them down so he said immediately jesus spoke i said hey before you jump out jesus said be of good cheer it is i don't be afraid then peter said if it is you bid me come to you on the water since you are walking on the water if it is you ask me tell me to come to you on the water and then jesus gave one word come anybody at all could have obeyed it

[24:19] it is a peter come he said come come i believe he said it in the hearing of all of them come they all could have jumped out based on that word and started walking on the water walking on the water for the first time somebody who is not a god man walked on water because he took the word of a god man he took the word of the god man and ended up walking on water then as he walked on the water he lost focus broken focus is the reason for failure when but when but when but oh no that's where things changed but he was walking on the water verse 29 and he walked on the water to go to jesus he walked on he hadn't gotten he hadn't gotten to his destination but he was still walking on the water he was going but there was a disruption but when he saw the wind was boisterous he was afraid his focus moved from jesus to what the reality around him he was experiencing a supernatural reality but for some reason he shifted his focus to look at the natural realities abraham bible says that he did not consider his body that was now dead romans chapter 4 abraham against hope believed in hope that he would be the father of many nations abraham he believed in hope that he would be the father of many nations and bible says that he believed that according to what was spoken so shall thy descendant be verse 19 and not being weak in faith he did not consider his own body already dead since he was about 100 years old and the deadness of sarah's womb he did not consider it what has preoccupied you will determine what kind of faith you can walk in by your focus what you keep focusing on what you keep focusing on you you have framed the doctor's reports and hang it on the wall every time every time every time you wake up you are watching the doctor's report every time doctors report every time doctors report it has become everything for your life there are no jobs joblessness is rising joblessness is rising people are losing their jobs so when your boss called you for a meeting you say ah i knew it was coming what what do you mean by you know it was coming what is coming how did you get a job i prayed and i walked i took steps by faith please don't lie when you're looking for a job so abraham did not consider his body now dead really the original greek is he looked at it so look this is the doctor's report he looked at the doctor's report and god's report he looked at the doctor's report said oh okay i will believe this i will believe this this is my focus this is there i'm aware i'm very much away i'm not saying it doesn't exist i know it exists he was aware but so bible in in the amplified version and in the niv he said he considered his body he considered his own body so he was aware he did not say it doesn't exist he knew existed he considered his body but he chose to focus on god's word what are you focusing on you can't walk by faith focusing on the right you can't walk by faith focusing
