[0:13] Why should you pray? Number one, because there is God. We pray because there is a God.
[0:26] There's a God out there. There's God. Jesus said, when you pray, say, what should you say? Matthew chapter 6 verse 9.
[0:38] After this manner, therefore pray ye, our Father. So prayer is addressed to a God who is there. Hebrews chapter 11 verse 6 said, Whoever comes to God must know that he is.
[0:56] Say God is. Say God is. He is. He is. And he's a rewarder of those who diligently seek him. Number two, reason why we pray.
[1:09] I like number two. That's the chief reason why we pray. Because God answers prayers. Why do we pray? Why should we pray?
[1:21] Oh, I can't hear you. Why should we pray? For God answers prayers. That means that when you are praying, you should know that God answers. Yes. There is a God.
[1:32] Number two, God answers prayer. The Bible. The Bible. Jesus said, Matthew chapter 7 verse 7. Ask and ye shall receive. Seek and ye shall find. Knock and the door and it will be opened.
[1:46] Verse 7. For whoever. Verse 8. For everyone who asks, receives. Who receives? Whoever. Who receives? Whoever.
[1:56] Whoever. So, your receiving is at the mercy of your asking. Everyone who asks, receives.
[2:09] Who seeks, finds. Who knocks, it shall be opened. So, the reason why we should pray is because when we ask, when we pray, God answers prayers.
[2:24] God answers prayers, no wishes. God will not answer prayers until it's offered. So, the reason why we pray is because God answers prayers.
[2:40] Number three is an expression of our desire to God. You say, when you pray, say, give us this day our daily bread. You have a desire.
[2:52] Mark chapter 11 verse 24. Verily I say unto you, whatsoever you desire when you pray. James. When you pray, whatsoever you desire when you pray, believe.
[3:05] What thing soever you desire when you pray. So, you see, prayer is an expression of our desire to God. It says that if we know the answers, then we believe that whatsoever we have, petition we have asked him, he will do it.
[3:22] So, prayer is tendering your desires or your request to God. Prayer is an expression or gives a room to express our desires to God, which he always wants to do something about.
[3:37] Number four, prayer. Prayer brings us in alignment with God's purpose. Alignment. Key word, alignment.
[3:50] Sometimes you will be misaligned. You'll be off. Off. Off alignment. Like, when you update or when you put some on your phone book new address, you save a new address.
[4:09] It will not show up on your other devices unless you have synced it. When you sync it, then it goes everywhere on your iCloud. So, until you sync it or if some new updates are released, if you don't download and bring it in line with the latest software, you might have a good computer by operating a very old software, which might not help you.
[4:36] So, in prayer, we bring ourselves in alignment or update our spirit life software with heaven's purpose. It's very important.
[4:48] That is why the apostle said, we have to give ourselves continually to prayer. Because when you pray, you easily come in alignment with God. You can't pray effectually and fervently and seriously and easily miss God.
[5:05] Everybody God has used ever always prayed. Alignment to heaven says that when you pray, say that will be done on earth.
[5:16] So, if you are not praying, what is in heaven will not be reflecting what's on earth. Do you understand that? Matthew chapter 6 verse 10. That will be done on earth.
[5:27] So, the alignment, that's point number four. Okay, alignment. Number five. Number five. We authorize heaven to intervene on earth.
[5:39] He said, if my people who are called by my name shall humble themselves and pray. Humble themselves, seek my faith, then from their wicked ways. I will hear from, and heal the land.
[5:51] That means the land had a problem. But if someone doesn't pray, nothing will be done about the land. Amen? I will hear from heaven.
[6:02] So, 2 Chronicles chapter 7 verse 14. So, prayer authorizes heaven to intervene. Intervene. In Jeremiah chapter 33 verse 37, call upon me and I will answer.
[6:18] See, so if you don't call, he can't answer. So, call upon me and I will answer. So, I like point number six.
[6:31] Let me give you a scripture first. Luke chapter 3 verse 21. I want to give you a scripture and you tell me what prayer can do. Let's read it out from the screen. Let's go. O God, the only one who are baptized, gave his cross, that Jesus also be baptized.
[6:46] And pray in the heavens. Okay. So, what happens when you pray? What happens when you pray? What happens when you pray? Others were being baptized.
[6:56] By him, he was praying. And heaven, the heaven pop open. Like that. Recently, one of our brothers was driving on the motorway. I think he fixed something on his car.
[7:08] And he was driving. He didn't shut the bonnet properly. He forgot. Driving on the motorway. And the bonnet, yeah, the bonnet open and hit the windscreen.
[7:20] It was a serious thing. This is open bonnet. God will give you open heavens. I use that illustration to tell you how sometimes some things can flip open suddenly.
[7:35] Can flip it. When you pray, you give you open. Jesus said, there is no heaven. Bible says, the heaven opened. It rented. Flip open. As you pray, heaven will flip open up on your life.
[7:48] And then begin to show on your job, your health, your family and everything. In Jesus mighty name. So, number six, when you pray, heaven opens.
[7:59] Or you receive open heavens. Number seven, there are evil forces at work on this earth. Ephesians chapter six, it says that there's tough and dirty.
[8:10] We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against, against principalities, against powers. Let's look at the third one. Rulers of the darkness of this world and the fourth one is even the worrying one.
[8:26] Against spiritual wickedness. You know when they say somebody's wicked? Wicked forces. Bible says that people were dying. Genesis chapter five.
[8:39] You only see and it lived and died and died. Everybody died. Died. Died. Died. Died. Died. Business are dying. Health is dying. Marriages are dying.
[8:50] People, things are dying. then Bible says that Enoch, he walked with God and he didn't die. Praise the Lord.
[9:04] But, Genesis chapter verse 26, four verse 26, it says that then men began to call on the name of the Lord because said then after Enoch, it's different from Enoch.
[9:23] After Enoch was born, men began to call on the name of the Lord because Satan was at work. Didn't Jesus say, Simon, Simon, Simon, Simon, Simon, Luke chapter 22, verse 31, said, Simon, Simon, Satan himself, this was not a demon, he himself has desired to sift you like wheat.
[9:49] Yes. He told the demon instead of leaving for me. But, Jesus said, the only way you can deal with this matter, but I pray for you. You see, you see where prayer?
[10:01] Prayer gives us an upper hand over demonic forces. You can't be praying and demons are having a failed day on your land, in your life.
[10:15] Demon, demon can't have an upper hand over the life of a praying person. You can have, it can be a parent and Satan cannot easily mess up with your children because you are praying.
[10:30] Prayer, why should we pray? Because there are real evil forces, wicked forces at work on earth. There are certain marriages that will never happen unless someone prays.
[10:45] So, why should we pray? There is God. God answers prayer. An expression of our desire to God brings us in alignment with God's purpose, authorizes heaven to intervene on earth, opens the heavens or open heavens.
