[0:00] Hallelujah! We thank God you've tuned into this message by David Entry at Caris Church. No hand can help you with the fulfillment of your destiny but the Word of God. May God's hand align you further into your destiny through this Word.
[0:17] Let me continue for what I was talking about, why we should pray. Number one, there is a God. Number two, for answered prayers. God answers prayers.
[0:28] Number three, an expression of our desire to God. That's why we pray. When we pray, that's what happens. When we pray, we pray because there's God. We pray because God answers prayers. An expression of our desire to God brings us in alignment with God's purpose, authorizes heaven. It authorizes heaven to intervene on earth and then open heavens heavens. And we pray, open heavens. Open heavens or heaven opens when we pray. And then there are evil forces at work on earth. That's why we should pray. There are evil forces working on earth. So if you don't pray, they will use you as spiritual barbecue.
[1:20] That your cousin, they've used you as spiritual barbecue. If you don't pray, I go pray. I go pray. If I don't pray. If I don't pray, Satan will make me barbecue.
[1:39] Praise the Lord. And then number eight, we are strengthened when we pray. Number nine, prayer helps us to deal with afflictions. It helps us in dealing with afflictions.
[1:53] Number 10, when you pray, you are taking refuge in God. You run to take cover in God. Number 11, when you pray, you open up yourself to divine illumination. Heaven enlightens you.
[2:10] You begin to have enlightenment. In fact, in 1 Corinthians 2, verse 10, 1. It says that no one knows, no man knows what is in the heart of a man, save the spirit.
[2:27] God has revealed these things to us by his spirit. For the spirit searches all things, yet the deep things of God. And it says that no one knows what is the man, the spirit of a man, save the spirit of a man. Even so, the things of God know not but the spirit.
[2:42] And it says we have received such spirits that we may know. Verse 12. And then it says that now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God, that we may know the things that are freely given to us. And with which these things we communicate with wisdom which amounts when. So when we have the spirit, when we pray, it allows the spirit of God to take the deep things of God and reveal them to us and give it to us. Number 12 says that it gives us opportunity to stand in the gap. Wow, that's so good. It's called intercessory prayer. And Job prayed for his friends. God said, go to Job and let Job pray for you. Job chapter 42. So you get the chance to stand when we pray. When you pray, you get a chance to stand in the gap for people. Jesus said, I pray for these ones, not for the world, but for these ones. So Jesus prayed in John chapter 17, somewhere from nine days.
[3:39] Jesus stood in the gap and prayed for his disciples. He said, I pray for them. I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast. So praying for. So prayer gives you the chance to stand in the gap to pray.
[3:55] Number 13. Prayer helps us to tackle matters beyond human knowledge. It helps us to tackle matters things beyond human comprehension. So we don't know how to pray as we ought to, but the spirit himself make it intercession for us. And it says that he who prays does not speak to men, but to God.
[4:21] No man understands him. Habits, first Corinthians chapter 14 verse 2. Habits in the spirit is speaking mysteries. So prayer helps us to tackle things beyond human comprehension. Number 14.
[4:34] Prayer. When we pray, we get divine enablement. This is so important. Besides being strengthened, you get divine enablement. What, what, what's, what's divine enablement? There are things you have to do, but you, you are not able to do it the way you want to do it. You have to do it. So it's not just about strengthening, but there's an enablement that comes upon you. Divine enablement. It gives us, prayer gives us divine enablement. You want to overcome gluttony. You are struggling. When you pray, you'll be shocked.
[5:12] Some of you don't know what gluttony is. So yeah, I want to overcome an addiction. Prayer gives us enablement. When you, Jesus, when he was going to the cross, he had to pray before to go into, to enable him to handle the cross. An enablement to do things that need to be done. To do things that need to be done. To speak the way you should speak. Paul said, pray for me that I will be granted Ephesians chapter 6 verse 19. Boldness to declare the mysteries of God, mysteries of the kingdom, mysteries of the gospel. You know, boldness to open or to open my mouth boldly. You know, when they went to pray in Acts chapter 4, it says that verse 29, grant us that with boldness, we will be able to speak your word. So that was it. They wanted this enablement.
[6:05] An enablement to do what you have to do. An enablement to break that relationship. Sometimes, you know, there are some relations you want to break. It's toxic, but you are struggling to break it. You try and pray about it and see. You'll be shocked. Pray about it. You'll be able to look at it and say, you know what? Enough of this. I can't continue on this anymore. We cannot have it anymore. Let's stop this thing.
[6:27] I'm stopping it. And then normally, when you do that, they use some terms and they, oh, you know, you can do this to me. But now they're speaking and it doesn't get you. You have been able to say, there are things you should be able to say, but you are not able to speak.
[6:43] You understand what I'm saying? Yeah. You should be able to tell that guy who has been sending you text messages or sending you links. Sending you links. You've been planning to say it, but you can't say it.
[6:58] You can't, you can't say it. Your, your dad or your mom has always been suggesting you to go back to this old girlfriend or old, but you know, because you are shy, you are quiet, and sometimes you don't really like it, but you're not able to communicate. And she goes to bring the girl home. When you come, she has cooked and you should be able to say, mom, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. I don't do that. It's not everything you have to say, which you are able to say.
[7:22] Yeah. If you know what I'm saying. Yeah. Not everything. Some of us, the biggest, the most difficult thing for you to say is no. No. When you receive divine enablement.
[7:34] No. I didn't give you a scripture for divine enablement. Ephesians chapter 3 verse 16 said that he will strengthen by his spirit in your inner man. Something is happening within you. You are receiving something within you. Strengthening. But it's, it's, it's, it said, and then it says that it's God who is at work in you both to do and to will. So there's an enablement that makes things easy.
[7:58] Number 15. Is it 15? When you pray, 1 Corinthians chapter 14 verse 2 is so big, you know, that should have even been point two, but I almost missed, I almost missed it. It says that if anyone, I don't speak to men, but, by what? When you pray, you get a chance to talk to God. There's God. That's why we pray. God, he has, I answer his prayer. That's why I pray. But when you pray, you also having a chat with God.
[8:31] You are talking to God. Sometimes, not every prayer is a request. Not every prayer is God, asking God to do something. Most of the most effective prayer is bringing yourself, opening up yourself, God, just have your way in me. So you commune with God. Sometimes anywhere, on the plane, on the train, in your car, in the restroom, you can be communing with God. I know people who have court case, when there was a break, they went into the restroom to go and commune with God. God, God, show your power. God, glorify your name. So prayer gives you opportunity to, sometimes in a certain harsh moment, they want you to make a decision. Tell them, give me a few moments, like what Daniel did.
[9:18] In today's reading, Daniel said, tell the king to give us some moments. No, don't kill us yet. Don't kill us when I'm here. Don't kill us. So Daniel said, let them wait. Yeah. And then Daniel said, I'll come back with an answer. Because wait, give me time. Let me talk to God. So prayer gives you the opportunity to commune with God, to talk to God. In prayer, we commune with God. We commune with God. All great people in history knew how to commune with God. Commune with God. Some of us want to be pastors, want to be effective, but you don't commune with God. You need to learn to talk to God.
[10:05] Communion with God. Communion with God. Don't be too fixated on your abilities or inabilities. Develop the means of constant, develop the habit of constantly communing with God. It makes God able to use you easily.
[10:24] Communion with God. Communion with God. Communion with God. Communion with God. Communion with God. It's so important. I told you, was it last week or so, someone said, I don't go 30 minutes.
[10:37] I don't pray for more than 30 minutes. But I never go 30 minutes without praying. Communion with God. All right. Number 16. You create a room for fulfillment of God's purpose on earth. Now, this is so important. When we pray, we create room so God's purpose on earth can be created. Oh, sorry, can be fulfilled. So, there was somebody in the Bible in Luke chapter 2. His name is Anna. Was praying and praying and praying for the arrival and then Simeon. These are people who were praying. They had to be in intercession. Create room for God's purpose to be fulfilled. When we started pursuing revival, it's always prayer, prayer, praying, praying for revival in the UK. What were we doing? We are creating room on earth for God's purpose to be.
[11:28] So, it's not us who are going to make God bring revival, but our prayer, God has already planned revival and he will need some people to pray to create the room. Does that make sense? So, sometimes God is about to do something unique in your family. He's about to raise some great people in your family.
[11:44] So, never underestimate any child in your family. If you are a prayerful person. If you are 17, the Holy Spirit is released when you pray. The Holy Spirit has an addiction to praying people. I will say when they had prayed, the place where they stood shook. They were asking for boldness, but the Holy Spirit came. They filled with the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ, when he was praying, Luke chapter 3 verse 21, when he was baptized, he prayed.
