[0:00] Hallelujah! We thank God you've tuned into this message by David Entry at Caris Church. No hand can help you with the fulfillment of your destiny but the Word of God. May God's hand align you further into your destiny through this Word.

[0:15] Acts chapter 6, verse 7. Shall we all turn to it in your Bibles, everybody? Your Bibles. It doesn't matter your version. We are all going to read Acts chapter 6, verse 7. It's a text which is easier to remember.

[0:28] Acts 6, verse 7. So Acts 6, verse 7. Right. Shall we all read it? Let's go. And the Word of God increased, and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly, and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

[0:45] Let's read it one more time. Let's go. And the Word of God increased, and the number of disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly, and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith. Amen.

[0:57] Can we have the ladies to read it? Ladies, let's go. And the Word of God increased, and the number of disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly, and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

[1:10] Shall we have the men to read it, please? And the Word of God increased, and the number of disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly, and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith.

[1:22] I want us to focus on these priests. They were the cream, the icing on the cake for the revival, for the priests to come.

[1:33] Can you imagine, we have service, and people have closed down football matches to come to church, and they've closed down pride matches to come to church.

[1:44] That's crème de la crème. In fact, even that doesn't come near to priests in Jerusalem. For priests in Jerusalem to come to church, no, no, that's unheard of.

[1:59] Tuesday's Bible reading, chapter 25, I think the verse 2, Bible talks about how it was the chief priests, the high priest and the chief of the Jews, informing him about Paul, and somewhere along there, it says that they bound themselves with an oath to kill him.

[2:17] I mean, these are priests too. Okay, let's look at verse 3. And desire favor of him, yeah, that's the priest from verse 2. That will send him, so the high priest and the chief of the Jews came to tell him about Paul.

[2:29] That's talking about first talks. And desire favor of him, that he will send him to Jerusalem, laying in wait to kill him. This is a priest and chief of the Jews, the high priest himself.

[2:40] Yeah, this is serious. In fact, Jesus himself said in Mark, John chapter 16, verse 2, 3, 4, he says that a time will come when people think by killing you they are doing God's service.

[2:51] Yes. Whoever killeth you will think he doeth God's service. That's Jesus telling the disciples. So, it's a very serious situation.

[3:02] And the priests hated them so much. Now, the priests themselves, the text again, from the text, 6-7, Acts 7. And a great company, Pastor, it would be okay if it's just one or two priests.

[3:15] Yeah. During the days of Jesus, some of the leaders of the synagogue came. They came to follow Jesus by being Clyde Stanley. There's not a lot of them.

[3:27] But this one, this one, a great company of priests. They came in their company, drones. What did they do? That's the focus of our teaching. They became obedient to not the word of God.

[3:40] Bible says it was the word of God that increased. But they became obedient to the faith. Because these priests had the Torah, which was also the word of God. That's the Bible Jesus read.

[3:50] But they had it, and they didn't have it in proper context. So, when they talk about the faith, anytime you hear that phrase, the faith, it's talking about the New Testament revelation of God and Christ.

[4:04] Okay. So, when they became obedient to the faith, what it means was that they accepted that Jesus is Lord. Yeah. Not because, not because of feelings, but they realized that it's true.

[4:14] They just knew it was true. These are priests. But how, how did that happen? It was on the back of the word of God increasing.

[4:26] When the word of God increased in the congregation, it, it, what does it mean? It means that they understood scripture better.

[4:37] Priests come to them, and the priests are realizing, but what you are saying is true. Oh, okay. They began to realize that these things are true. Tell me more. Tell me more. And tell me more.

[4:48] Tell me more. What led to them coming into, into reality of the truth, which was different from the experience of Paul. Paul had an encounter with Jesus.

[5:00] God, the guy was a killer. If they don't stop him, he wouldn't be listening to anybody. He was a killer. And Ananias said, he's coming to kill us, arrest us. I can't go and talk to him. Once he sees you, he had authority.

[5:12] He had authority from the high priest to travel from, from city to city. Acts chapter 26, from verse 12, it says that, I had power, authority, to be traveling from place to place.

[5:27] He said, I locked them out in prison. Yes. Which I did in Jerusalem. And many of the saints, I shut, did I shut up in prison, having received authority from the chief priests.

[5:38] And when they were put to death, I gave my voice against them. I think you can just say, I gave my consent. So I, I, I, I gave, yes, I cast my vote against them, making sure these guys will be killed.

[5:50] And then the next verse, verse, verse 11, says that, I punished them. I punished them often in every synagogue and compelled them to blaspheme and been exceedingly enraged against them.

[6:01] See, that's why, when people are angry against church, it's, it's the same thing. It's as a reason. It's, it's, it's sometimes you don't understand, why are you so angry? It's, they're enraged. It's the, it's the working of the devil in their hearts.

[6:14] He said, I worked exceedingly. And this was someone who, when it comes to the law, he was faultless. Philippians chapter 3, verse 2, verse 3, 4, it says that, concerning the law, faultless.

[6:31] I was a Pharisee of Pharisees. Circumstance of the, in the stock of Israel, a tribe of Israel, a Hebrew of Hebrew, concerning the law, a Pharisee. Concerning the, persecuting the, concerning the righteous, the law, blameless.

[6:46] He was, he was, he was very clean, so long as the, the Jewish religion was concerned. And yet, yet, he was compelling people to blaspheme.

[6:59] Why? Because he lacked the truth that the faith gives. Faith in Jesus Christ. So that many priests became obedient to their faith.

[7:12] That means, when you say, became obedient to their faith, you walk by faith. It's different faith when you say, walk by faith. You are exercising faith. But this obedience to their faith is the set of truths that undergird sound Christianity.

[7:29] That's why in 1 Timothy chapter 1, verse 19, it says that, having faith and good conscience, which some having rejected, concerning the faith have made shipwreck.

[7:39] Concerning the truth, concerning the truth. It says, it says, to those who have obtained like precious faith. This faith we have is precious.

[7:50] It's not like, I believe, but it's the set of truths. Jude 3, contending for the faith. So, the faith here is talking about the set of truths that make people Christians.

[8:01] The set of truths that make people Christian. That is what, ah, watch this. That is what must continue to increase in the church.

[8:15] So you can be born again, and still you haven't gotten a full picture. Me, and the greatest of all theologians, Christian, I mean Christian theologians, are still getting to know more.

[8:28] Yeah. Because all the depths and the riches of the wisdom, Romans chapter 11, verse 33, all the depths, all the depths and the riches, both of God's wisdom and knowledge.

[8:43] How unsearchable, you can exhaust. And Bible says that his judgments have gone past where you can finish discovering it. He's gone past finding. He's gone past finding means gone past research.

[8:55] That you can research it, finally I got everything. No, it's past finding. The revelation of God is bigger than your mind can contain. Yeah. So, in bits, in bits, in bits, as we grow in Christ, we are getting to know him more and more.

[9:13] Just to know you more and more. As we grow in Christ, we are getting to know you. And knowing Christ does not come by sleeping and having revelations. Hey, I slept in an angel.

[9:24] The angels can teach you Christ. In the book of Acts chapter 10, verse 40, it talks about God raised Christ from the dead and showed him openly.

[9:39] Okay? God raised him on the third day and showed him openly. Not to everybody. It's open, but not to everybody. There are some things that are open, but not everybody will find it.

[9:49] It's public information, but you'll never get it. It's kind of esoteric. So, he said openly, not to all the people, but watch this.

[10:01] Watch this. This is very important. Do you remember what God told Paul? I'll make you a witness. I'll appear to you to be a minister. He said, but to witness his chosen.

[10:11] Watch this. He was, when he resurrected from the dead, he was showed openly only to witnesses who were chosen by God. Before he died.

[10:24] God has chosen some people. So, he says, he said, you are going to be a witness. Go and stand there. You are going to be a witness. Go and stand there. You are going to be a witness.

[10:35] Go and stand there. You are going to be a witness. Go and stand there. And then when he resurrected from the dead, instead of him, God showing him to everybody. God didn't do. God went to show himself to these witnesses.

[10:46] And then they are supposed to come and tell you, he's alive. We are sinning. Then when they come and tell you, he's alive. We are sinning. That message, that witness carries the life of God.

[10:59] Angels can't do it. So, when the angel appeared to Cornelius in Acts chapter 10, he said, send to Joppa for Peter. Because he will come and speak words to you.

[11:11] What words? These are the words Peter. So, watch this. Look at the verse 44. Whilst Peter was speaking these words. God's plan was that Holy Ghost would fall upon these Gentiles.

[11:27] Because God had to do a supernatural work. He didn't wait for them to be baptized. Because if he waited for them, just like Acts chapter 2. They were cut to the heart. And then they said, men and brethren, what shall we do?

[11:39] They said, repent. And they said, okay, we repent. And they were baptized. No, Gentiles won't get the chance. Because the thing was in the territory of Jews who don't accept Gentiles by virtue of the law.

[11:50] But they didn't realize that God has moved into a new face. So, they are not ready to follow God into it. Because that's the danger of religion. Religion can make you so stubborn that even when you are missing God, you do it joyfully.

[12:02] So, God had to force Peter. Like, tied his hands through revelation. And Peter went into the man's house. The angel told the man, you must be saved.

[12:13] But you cannot be saved without a witness. But the witness will not come. So, I'm going to give him revelations.

[12:24] What else is thinking? What's the meaning? People will come and look for him. I'll tell him they are looking for you. Follow them. So, I just forced him. And then when he came, he started to say, oh, wow.

[12:35] That means God's really. After the man told him what he has seen with the angel. He said that God is not respected. Verse 34. God is not respected of persons. But in every nation, everyone who believes is accepted of him.

[12:45] Then he started telling them about Jesus. Because if you are a witness, you don't have any message apart from Jesus. So, he started telling them about Jesus. As he spoke about Jesus, if you don't talk about his death, his burial and resurrection, you have actually eclipsed him.

[13:01] The Jesus you know. Anyone who is preaching Jesus who goes silent or muted on his death, his burial and resurrection, is not talking about the proper Jesus. He's not presenting a proper picture of Jesus.

[13:13] That is why Christianity kind of Easter matters. That's why the cross matters in Christianity. When you see the sign of the cross on a church building, it's saying that this is the one who died and resurrected.

[13:28] It's the center of our message. If you don't talk about the Jesus who died and resurrected, you have not presented a proper Jesus. Islam can also have that kind of Jesus. The Jesus Islam faces they believe in is not a dead and resurrected Jesus.

[13:43] He said, I am confused concerning these things. This Paul, they are having arguments, chapter 26. They are having arguments concerning a man who was, verse 24, I think so, who is dead.

[13:57] Who Paul claims to be alive. I'm lost for this matter. How to say it? He said, first of all, say that this is the idea of talking about. I just thought about that. Somebody is dead. Paul said he's alive.

[14:09] And the people say he's dead. And they want to kill him for saying he's alive. He says, this matters to the extent that he said, I want to send a prisoner to Caesar. But the guy is not guilty.

[14:19] So I don't know what to write. So he said, I was waiting for you to come. When you come, I'll find something to write and find a church. So let's all listen to him.

[14:31] Agrippa said in chapter 26, verse 1, Paul, you are free to speak for yourself. That is permitted to speak for yourself. Bible says in verse 24, while he was speaking for himself, verse 24, and thus he speak for himself.

[14:49] As he speak for himself. First of all, Paul, you are learning too much. So that tells you, that tells you even his experience was intertwined with Jewish revelations about Jesus.

[15:02] That's why he made reference to the prophets. Even though he was speaking about his experience, he buried his experience in the scripture. So whilst Peter spoke about Jesus, and he spoke about his death, his burial, his resurrection, and he says his resurrection, he was shown to us who were supposed to speak about him.

[15:23] Peter didn't now finish talking. Holy Spirit said, that's all. I wanted you to witness. Now stand aside. Angels cannot witness about Jesus. So anyone who tells you that I changed because I saw an angel, he said, demonia sin.

[15:39] Yeah. Angels don't have what it takes to talk about Jesus. It's not just ideology. When we talk about Jesus, we witness of Jesus.

[15:50] It's not an ideological stuff. It is a matter of life. And angels can't speak and give you that life. But what I am doing, if the worst are healthy, it's actually injecting life into the church.

[16:05] So a great company of the priests became obedient to their faith. To their faith. Let's all say the faith. So what do you do to the faith?

[16:17] You obey. How do I obey the faith? Yes. That tells you the faith comes with contents, instructions. The faith comes with certain elements of truth.

[16:28] Now, as I spoke the other time, I taught us about how some of the fundamental truths of the faith is the fact that, you remember Ephesians chapter 1, how to the praise of the glory of his grace, he did all these things to the praise of the glory of his grace, in whom we have redemption through his blood.

[16:48] All these things are the basics of the Christian faith, the platform of Christian faith. And I continue to explain that any time we veer off from the truth, the sound doctrine, we, one, the word of God will not grow amongst us.

[17:05] It will not increase amongst us. And two, life will be dwindling amongst us. Because if it is healthy words, then you are talking about words that bring life.

[17:19] Words of this life. So I read from 1 Timothy chapter 1 and verse 3, and then we jump to verse 10. Verse 3 says that I urge you when I went to Macedonia, remain in Ephesus, that you charge some, that they teach no other doctrine.

[17:39] They shouldn't be teaching something else. Something else. It's very easy to attempt to teach something else. Something else. See, anything that distracts from Christ is something else.

[17:55] Or, even more importantly, anything that does not elevate Christ in the church is something else. Every teaching, it can be teaching on prosperity.

[18:09] It can be teaching on healing. It can be teaching on clearing your debt. It can be teaching on buying houses. It can be teaching on healing. Any teaching that does not elevate Christ in the church is another teaching.

[18:23] It might in itself not be good. It might be bad. But if we stay on it, it's dangerous. It's dangerous. It's dangerous. You can never be healthy eating only sugar.

[18:34] No, no, no. You will die very early. Yeah. Oh, within matter of months. Yeah, going. So, the church is a place of teaching. And the teachings that happen in church is, in reality, is feeding.

[18:52] It's spiritual nourishment because everybody has a spiritual disease. And it takes healthy words, healthy teaching, the same as healthy means sound.

[19:07] Sound teaching to keep us. What sound teaching does? Three things it does. Number one, it supplies us with life. Sound, you might think it's just teaching.

[19:19] That's why angels can't teach. Where are they going to get their life from? They don't have the Zoe. They don't have Zoe. Angels don't have Zoe. Human beings who are born again are the only ones who can contain God.

[19:32] I contain God. I contain God. I'm a container. I'm a vessel of God. Hallelujah. You have to be born again for God to dwell in you. Sound teaching supplies us with life.

[19:45] Number one, it cures spiritual disease. And number two, number one, it cures spiritual disease. Number three, it helps maintain a godly order in the communication.

[19:59] With sound teaching, it is easy to assign people to serve tables when, first of all, teachings are sound. When we operate within the environment sphere of sound teaching, we don't struggle to get people to serve tables or tables to be served.

[20:17] Organizational structure doesn't struggle in the church when the spiritual environment is sound and decent. The reason why your marriage suffers or your marriage is suffering is that somebody is not being a strong Christian, a true Christian.

[20:33] When you are living the Christian life, we do not have to mitigate and mediate endlessly between you and other Christian brother or sister you are fighting with.

[20:45] So, every one of us has spiritual disease. What's the spiritual disease I'm talking about? The disease that will make Peter no one to go to the house of Cornelius. What's the disease I'm talking about?

[20:58] The philosophy and the mindset that doesn't have, that doesn't understand the word of God properly. So, it may, I'm not talking about living in sin. I'm talking about living short of God's program.

[21:12] God's plan. No one was born with that. That is why they asked him in Acts chapter 8. Do you understand what you are reading? Verse 30. I mean, how can I accept somebody?

[21:23] Accept somebody. That's why I'm telling you. You don't know Jesus naturally. He did not, was not shown to everybody. He appeared to people, witnesses.

[21:34] He said, I have appeared to you for this purpose. To make you a minister and a witness. God will always use human beings to reach out to human beings.

[21:47] One of the things that can help facilitate your Christian growth or revelation of the word of God is preaching and teachings. When I say teaching, I mean formal teachings.

[22:01] So, what do I mean? Let me take it further. What do I mean by for? You see, those of you who have done membership class, there's teaching there. Some things are. Some things are. Some things are.

[22:11] That's what the priest became obedient to. A system might explain this. This is how we do. Spiritual maturity doesn't come automatically. No. No, no, no, no, no, no.

[22:22] Spiritual maturity is never automatic. It's never automatic. Because you have been around for long, you have matured long. No. In spiritual maturity, you can be around for 20 years and you are still three months old.

[22:38] So, there are a lot of 20-year-old Christians, 10-year-old Christians who are still in diapers, spiritually. Yes. Pampas. They are still in Pampas and drinking SMA.

[22:56] Paul said, I can only feed you with milk. So, he said to Timothy, I left you in crates so you charge some that they teach no other doctrine. Jump to verse 10.

[23:07] You remember I spoke about sodomites in the verse 9. Yeah, verse 9. Verse 9. For fornicators. Let's go to verse 10 because of time. For fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers.

[23:19] For kidnappers, liars, for perjurers. The law is for people who are sexually immoral. That means people who are having sex without being married to their sex partners.

[23:33] Sexually immoral is there. And then those who practice homosexuality or who are slave traders. You see, it's there. Slave trafficking. Slave traders.

[23:46] Liars and pro... So, who are the perjurers? Homeless perjurers. Those who break women's hearts. She said, I love you, I love you.

[23:58] He's lying. They break their promise. They promise you. Some of them, they will even give you a promise ring. And they break their promise.

[24:12] He said the law was written for all this. So, they and homosexuals and sexually immoral liars, they will be all in the same category. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So, don't leave the rest and only focus on one.

[24:25] Mm-hmm. Who do anything else that contradicts wholesome teaching. So, now he said, there are other things that I can't mention here because there are more.

[24:38] So, he said, anything that contradicts. So, that means, watch this, all these things, they contradict wholesome teaching. Yeah. Including homosexuality. Yeah. They all, including breaking promises.

[24:51] Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. They contradict healthy teachings. Yeah. And he says, the law was written. Before even the teachings were given, the law was written to catch all those people.

[25:03] Mm-hmm. Yes, he said, for, for, contrary to sound doctrine. Now, look at the next verse. The sound doctrine accords to the glorious gospel of the blessed God which is committed to the preacher.

[25:18] Mm-hmm. Wow. Glorious gospel. If we preach anything different from what Apostle Paul has been preaching, we've gone off. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. This gospel is glorious.

[25:30] Mm-hmm. And it doesn't belong to us. It belongs to the blessed God. Mm-hmm. It's the glorious gospel. It must accord with the glorious gospel.

[25:41] That's when you are talking about sound teachings. Mm-hmm. And he says that, let's hold on to sound teachings. Mm-hmm. So, when you go to 2 Timothy chapter 1 verse 13.

[25:57] 2 Timothy chapter 1 verse 13. He said, hold fast to the pattern of what? Sound words which you have heard from me in faith and love which is in Jesus Christ.

[26:09] He said, hold on to it. There is a pattern of sound words you have to hold on to. In 1 Timothy chapter 1 verse 19. He said, hold on to good conscience and faith.

[26:20] Holding to having faith and good. When you read other translations, King James uses, holding faith. Hold it. Mm-hmm. And not only faith. Hold good conscience.

[26:31] Mm-hmm. What you are doing, no one knows it, but is your conscience okay? Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Is your conscience okay? Mm-hmm. You have to hold good conscience in your Christian journey.

[26:42] Mm-hmm. Hold good conscience. Hold faith. Mm-hmm. Faith goes with good conscience. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Mm-hmm. Faith.

[26:52] You can never have sound faith in the absence of good conscience. Mm-hmm. Oh, yes. The way you have been lying to people. Mm-hmm.

[27:02] The way you have been living a fake life. Mm-hmm. Why are you talking to a sister? Mm-hmm. You are in a relationship with your sister, and you've started talking to somebody else.

[27:15] Oh, no. Oh, no. Is this good conscience? Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no. Oh, no. Is this good conscience?

[27:26] No. Oh, no. Listen. Listen to what I didn't say. Oh, no. Stop focusing on what others are struggling with. Mm-hmm. I think you should focus on your life.

[27:36] This one is just preaching, and the preaching is for all of us. Yes. Yes. Yes. One way or the other, some of you listening to me, you found yourself letting before. Yes. In church.

[27:47] Hold in faith and good conscience. Hold in faith and good conscience. But that's not the only thing we hold. 2 Thessalonians 2, verse 15, it says we should hold, brethren, stand fast and hold the tradition which you were taught.

[28:05] There are things you have been taught. Patterns that you have been taught. Hold to it. Don't veer from it. Don't drift from it. It will affect your Christian life. Some of you, you are backsliding from joining a department. You are in a department and now you are going down. You are going down. You are going down. Your activity, you come late for every meeting, it's going to affect you.

[28:16] Hold to their pattern. do. Hold on to that tradition. Hold to it. Hold to it. Titus 1, verse 9. 9. 9. 9. 9. 9.

[28:27] 10. 10. 10. 11. 11. 11. 12. 12. 12. 12. 12.

[28:38] 12. 12. 12. 12. Now you are talking about faithful words. It says that holding fast the faithful words as he has been taught.

[28:51] It says that's what people should be doing. We should be holding fast faith, faith, because sound doctrine is the best thing that can happen to you in your Christian journey. Healthy words, healthy teachings.

[29:04] Hold on to it. There have been times you don't feel like it but you don't only go to well because you only go to work because you feel like it. You go to work because the month will be coming to an end.

[29:17] You don't stay, if you're a student, you don't wake up, stay up late, stay in because of the fun of it. No, because you have exam coming. Exam is coming. So you have an account to give.

[29:31] So hold fast the faithful words which you have been taught, that you may be able by sound doctrine both to exalt and convict those who contradict. By sound doctrine.

[29:42] You can't be in church for a while, and you are not growing in your understanding of Scripture. Sound doctrine.

[29:53] You have to hold on to it. Don't stop boasting. Stop boasting about the kind of Christian life you have if it is not built on the revelation of Jesus in the Scriptures.

[30:06] It's called the teachings of the apostles. Let me just take you to one or two Scriptures quickly, in Titus chapter. Let's take Titus chapter 2, verse 2. Verse 1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and 5. I'm going to verse 8, actually.

[30:17] Before I go to verse 8, let's go to chapter 1. We just read verse 9, right? Let's jump to verse 13 and verse 14. It talks about sound words, sound teaching. Verse 13 says that, This testimony is true.

[30:29] Therefore, rebuke them sharply that they may be sound in words. Did you see that word there? They became obedient to the faith. It says that there are some people you have to rebuke.

[30:41] This testimony is true. When you read from verse 9. We read verse 9. I think let's take it from verse 9 to 14 quickly. It says that, Holding fast faithful ways, as you have been taught, that you may be able, by sound doctrine, both to exhort and convict those who control.

[30:53] Look at verse 9. For there are many insubordinates, both idle talkers and deceivers, especially those of the circumcision. They are religious people. They subvert a whole household.

[31:05] Look at what. For, let's the next verse. Whose mouth must be stopped? How do you stop people's wrong? Stop them from teaching these kind of things. How do you stop? You don't give them platform, and then you teach people the right thing.

[31:18] They will figure out those who are wrong. So, whose mouth must be stopped? They subvert whole households. By the time you realize, your entire house has been misled.

[31:30] Wow. And it has been overthrown by teachings. Wow. Teachings. I love teaching. Teachings. It says stop some people's mouth, pastor.

[31:41] Stop their mouth. Teaching things they ought not to for the sake of dishonest gain. You see how important teaching is? What makes you, guarantees your spiritual stability is your doctrine.

[31:56] How do we know the doctrine is working in you? How do we know your doctrine is actually sound? People have opinions about what God's word is saying, but they don't have revelation.

[32:07] Because when you have revelation of the doctrine, it arrests your behavior. Some of you have become born again. You are so excited, but doctrine has not arrested your behavior. Oh, yes.

[32:19] Titus, quick. Let's finish the text. Verse 11. Let's go to verse 12. It says that, one of them, a prophet of their own, said, Cretans are always lies, evil, evil beasts, lazy gluthers.

[32:30] And he said that he's right. Look at, Paul said, Paul said that, this testimony is true. Therefore, rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith. You remember the faith? Look at the next verse, verse 14.

[32:40] Not giving it to Jewish fables and commandments of men that turn away people from the truth. There are things that can turn you away from the truth. 2 Timothy chapter 4, verse 2.

[32:52] He says that, verse 3 actually, 2 Timothy chapter 4, verse 3. He said, the time is coming when they will not endure sound doctrine. A time is coming, they will endure sound doctrine.

[33:04] And so he says, he said, for the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine. But according to their own lusts, desires, they will heap up teachers online.

[33:16] Wow. Hey. There are some people, if you are a sound Christian, you don't have business listening to them online. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. There are some people, you don't have to listen to them because it's complete rubbish.

[33:30] Oh. It distracts from Christ. Yeah. Desire. Keep itching ears. They will heap up to themselves. Teachers. Yeah.

[33:42] What? They are teachers, but not sound doctrine teachers. Wow. Why is, are you defining the quality of Christian life based on some, those people who are doing, is it Instagram talk or live and TikTok live and YouTube, most of them YouTube, they don't, they are not disciples.

[34:04] They are not, they don't know you. Yeah. Yeah. So most people who are also not disciples prefer that version because it doesn't, it makes you very unaccountable.

[34:16] Yeah. You're unaccountable. You're not accountable to anybody. You are an authority. You're autonomous. Yeah. You oppress your own economy. You do your own thing.

[34:27] You don't answer to anybody, but just to satisfy your religious norms, a religious conscience, you want to, okay, I'm hearing somebody. Maybe they're also explaining the Bible, but you know, you are not accountable to anybody.

[34:39] Independent. The only way you can be accountable properly within a discipleship setting is when you are part of a church and you are part of a small group in a church.

[34:52] You humble yourself. Some people will not like this kind of preaching in their times. They don't like this kind of preaching because it's too hot. What is this hot? What is hot about this? It's just Christian.

[35:02] What is hot about this? You are so icy. Normal temperature is hot for you. You are frozen, frozen.

[35:13] They will not endure sound doctrine. Titus chapter 2, verse 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, then I'll end. Verse 1, but as for you, speak the things which are proper for...

[35:26] Sound doctrine. Speak the things. Anytime you say sound doctrine, the original Greek translated sound is healthy teachings.

[35:37] Doctrine is teachings. And the sound, original Greek, is healthy. Health. Teachings of health. That means it's life-giving. Healthy.

[35:48] Wholesome. Some of you, I talked about it. Wholesome doctrine. But as for you, teach what is fit. Okay, as for you, speak the things which are proper for sound doctrine. Teach what is fit in and becoming sound.

[36:01] Wholesome doctrine. The character and right living that identifies to Christian. Did you see, did you see that sound doctrine is pointing to character?

[36:12] Amen. Wow. Sound doctrine is pointing to character. Character. Character. Character. Character. Character. Character. Character. People don't trust you.

[36:27] Character. Character. Anyone who makes a mistake and enters a relationship with you will regret their Christian life. Character. Character. Character. Character. Character. You will rewrote your Christian life with your strong lust.

[36:41] Amen. Yes. It says, okay, let's, there's two. That's the, you see, sound doctrine. Sound doctrine. It says, the older men be sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, and in patience.

[37:00] Next verse, quickly. The older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderous. You know, women, they will catch you like that.

[37:11] No slander, not giving to women. Not giving to much wine. Teachers of good things because all women can teach some bad things.

[37:22] Teachers of good things. Verse 4, that they admonish their young women to love their husband and to love their children. Yes. When you are relating to a church sister who is older than you, who is like a mature person, married already and something, this is the, these are the things that young women should get from her.

[37:42] If you are not getting that from her, cut her off. Now next verse, listen, I'm making the Bible talk. Listen, I feel like preaching. Let the Bible speak.

[37:54] Now next verse, be discreet. Teach them to be discreet. Chase, you know what Chase means? New Living Translation. Live wisely and pure.

[38:05] Even that one, you see, Chase means when a woman is chased, she's so pure, decent. You see her, the first thing that comes to your mind is no sex. She is not working like an enhanced sex organ, sex, sex object to work in their homes.

[38:25] Oh, the argument to work here. Let's go to the, the other version. Yeah. The homemakers. Wow. So you who think, why should I be cooking and the husband is not cooking?

[38:38] What if my husband is a chef? That's the job. Yeah, that's also a job. But a home, you are a homemaker. Homemakers, obedient. Oh, okay, let's behave like we didn't see this one.

[38:51] Okay, because it will be too hard for some of you. Some of you who don't want to hear it. But it's in the Bible. It's in the Bible. Sound doctrine. Sound doctrine.

[39:06] Priests became obedient to this. Not the Torah, this. When they say they became obedient to faith, this is what we're talking about. Can you please shut up and listen to God?

[39:20] What do you know? Even your age, you have to be told your age. You have to be told your age. Who told you your age is right?

[39:31] You were told your age. What if your mother forgot when you were born? You were told your dad. Yes. They told you that's your dad.

[39:42] Obey their own husbands. Or somebody else. Most church girls like obeying other people's husbands.

[39:55] Obey their own husbands so that the word of God may not be blasphemed. Did you see where sound doctrine manifests in behavior? Let me quickly finish there.

[40:08] I told you we are going to verse 8. Likewise, as though the young can be too bro calm down.

[40:21] Control. If there's a young man sitting here, touch their shoulder and say control, control, control, control. Hit him on the soldier and tell him them control control similarly encourage the young men to be self-control as you stand and people are walking in control sound men as you stay at their back and people are walking in control as they take off their coat control it's in the scriptures sound doctrine means tell them and carry them man you come yes you can yes you can when you are when you are cutting somebody you can you can't do it without sleeping with them yes you can you won't die sometimes you like I will die sister how that do you die yes you can yes you can yes you can yes you can yes you can yes you can yes you can can you per seven in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of some doctrine sound doctrine in doctrine showing integrity reverence and incorruptibility this is when we talk about you have sound doctrine it is manifest it's reflective in your entire life not only church shouting and tongues type
