One Body, One Spirit, One Hope of Your Calling

[0:14] May Jesus Christ reveal himself to you as you listen. Let's pray. Father, as we guide into your word, we pray give us illumination. Holy Spirit, be our teacher, be our guide.

[0:30] Expose the hidden secrets of man and reveal Jesus to us. As your word is taught, let the text come alive. In Jesus name. Amen.

[0:47] Ephesians chapter 4, verse 1. I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherein you were called, with all lowliness and longs and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace.

[1:11] There is one body, one spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling. One Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in all. Amen.

[1:31] How many ones did we just, as I mentioned, there are seven ones. Let's count them. It says that, for there is one body, one, one spirit, even as ye are called in one hope, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, and one God and Father of all.

[1:56] Endeavor to keep the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace.

[2:08] I explained that the word translated unity actually means oneness. Oneness is stronger than unity.

[2:21] Oneness, that word oneness is stronger than the word unity.

[2:33] Make every effort in the amplified version. Make every effort to keep the word oneness.

[2:45] Pastor, what's the difference between oneness and unity? Uniformity. There is certainly a major difference between uniformity and unity, which I mentioned in the previous teachings.

[3:06] Before I go on to what I was talking about, the unity, don't forget, unity and uniformity. And those of you who intend to be preachers, you are joking if you haven't started building a personal relationship with your Bible.

[3:22] God ain't going to use you. You are going to be a fraud. I said the last thing, if you have any desire to preach, without a discipline to prepare, it's a desire to perform.

[3:43] We have a lot of performers behind puppeteers. Some of them are online, performing and performing and performing.

[3:55] what makes a person a preacher is three things a preacher god in fact you know in Romans chapter 10 is a who shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved then the verse 40 says that how shall they call on him of whom they have no believe how shall they believe in whom of whom they have no head how shall they hear without a preacher so it takes a preacher to hear then okay verse 15 how shall they preach except they be sent that's what I was looking for except they be sent how do you know a preacher who is sent a preacher who is sent is the one who speaks the word of God for the word to come after you for the word to get you for the word to come alive for the word to become meaningful that's the preacher who is sent from God so for anyone who wants to be a sent preacher three things that must be in your life you must do so you can be a sent preacher you want to know the three things Ezra chapter 7 verse 10 the three qualifications for God to use you as a preacher three things number one for Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the Lord prepared his heart to seek number two and to do it number three and to teach it so prepare your heart what does it mean to prepare your heart search seek the word of God steady the word of God you want to be a preacher you are not studying the word of God what are you going to talk about politics social issues the prophet is not for that the prophet is not for that second Timothy chapter 4 verse 2 preach the word that's all your job the job of a pastor is what I can't hear you preach the word what's the job of a preacher preach the word what's the job of a preacher preach the word what are you supposed to preach the word not marriage preach the word don't stand there to try and talk about your opinion it doesn't matter preach so you want to be a preacher but you don't study the word what are you going to preach then preach the word many people are reading the bible to preach it no wrong approach read it to leave it first read it read it to leave it so he read it he prepared himself to to seek he prepared himself to to seek he prepared himself to seek the law of the Lord and to do it obey it obey it obey it and leave it wow so he said going back to our text there is a difference between unity and uniformity and there's certainly a difference between unity and oneness unity and uniformity uniformity is when everything looks the same so that usually the choir might be in uniform police officers might be in uniform nurses doctors so when you go to or even in schools secondary schools there's a uniform you cannot go and wear this

[8:02] school's uniform and go here because when we look at our students they must all look a certain way that's uniform in the church god is not looking for uniformity we all don't have to have the same hairstyle we all don't have to wear tie and suit we all don't have to wear typing we all don't want to wear i don't have to wear the same color we all don't have to shave our head there's there's liberty variety god is a god of variety even ice cream has so many varieties just ice cream there is vanilla there is chocolate there is what strawberry there's bubblegum there's lemon salted caramel honeycomb yeah oreo oreo cherry honey uh biscoff biscoff biscoff biscoff different varieties variety is a spice of life it's beautiful it's nice so god when you become born again it's called when everybody must be in a certain form and shape you all must wear this you must or it's a must else god cannot be up god will be upset with you you must wear this you must do this you must go here you must do that then we are beginning to move into the realm of calls because everybody must operate like zumbi the same way okay so god is not expecting the church to be uniform but i expect the church to have unity unity jesus says that love one another and by this the world will know that you are of me john chapter 13 verse 35 we have to be united bible talks in colossians chapter 2 he said have the same mind have the same mind the same mind is not it's not uniformity but oneness in the before the holy ghost came acts chapter 2 verse 1 on the day of pentacles they were all together in one place how with one accord that's this oneness there's this unity going there but in ephesians chapter 4 as i told you king james uses the word unity of the spirit but the original greek is oneness of the spirit what's the difference between unity and oneness unity is where there is cohesiveness that everything is like we're working together flowing together so you can bring him bring this one bring let's all sit together and talk or have fun together we are doing this that's unity okay whilst oneness is quite a different thing all together if you pull a strand of hair from this gentleman and you pull a strand of hair from this gentleman when you take it to the lab you can tell that this are from two different people but if you take his nail and his hair and you take it to the lab you can tell that they have something in common it is the same life so oneness talks about life it's like this so so so so we i might not know you but the fact that you are christian watch this this is a serious thing i might not know you but you can be a christian in japan and i'm a christian in england and yet we have oneness we have oneness so the boundaries of christianity is not defined by geographical location the boundaries

[12:11] of christianity is not defined by denomination the boundary of christianity is not defined by culture or race you can be in a different culture from somebody else and yet you still have oneness we might not even speak the same language but we still have oneness so oneness for instance the blood that flows in my toe is the same blood that flows in my ear why because they have oneness my body is one body every part of my body shares this oneness shares this what makes the body one is that it shares one life a shared life a shared life that is what makes the church an organism more than an organization the difference between an organism and an organization is an organization is amalgamation or bringing together of different components so when you look at your car your car is made up of parts so in some countries they don't manufacture the car but they assemble the car it's called an assembling plant they have a plan that assembles different different things so like this microphone this microphone is very interesting just let me let you in on this this microphone is very interesting they don't sell it like this they sell it as parts not all micro many microphones as you use but but this is professional microphone so you buy this you buy the it's called a capsule you buy the capsule which is a different price so there are different type of capsules you can buy this is one amazing one okay so you buy the capsule and then you buy the battery so and this they sell this separately so and this they sell this separately and now you get a professional microphone and it's you assemble them together so it's one one unit but it's made up of assembled part the difference between this and my arm is that even though my arm has also got parts uh really i've got the fingers and i've got the the wrists and all these parts the parts what makes it an organism is that it shares one life so it's the same life that over time has become this i didn't buy my if the battery goes wrong you can buy another one but not your hand you can go and buy somebody's hand and start using that's why you have prosthetic limbs it's not it is not organic the body of christ the church is organic it's organism so if you become born again it's an organic extension of the so i'm an organic part of jesus and the this is the message the fact that you have become a christian means you share one life with me and so we are organic we have an organic union not just an organization but organism which have an organic union so when you become born again god

[16:11] as himself organically to you is someone getting what i'm saying so now when you look at the christian church what is the basis of our oneness the basis of our oneness the bible didn't leave us in the dark it makes it clear to us ephesians chapter 4 verse 3 endeavor to keep the oneness of the spirit you didn't start the oneness the spirit of god who does it keep it your job is to keep it do anything possible to keep this oneness endeavor to keep the oneness in the in the bond of peace then he begins to tell us the seven what makes areas of oneness number one he says that there is one body one body i know of i have friends who are in redeemed christian church of god i have friends who are in the presbyterian church of a prostrate prostrate prostrate prostrate i have friends who are in um the baptist church i have friends who uh brothers who are in the assemblies of god church i have friends who are in first love

[17:39] I have friends who are in Winners Chapel. I have friends who are in Church of God in Christ.

[17:50] I have friends who are in different churches, different churches. We can be here, and maybe another church is also going on somewhere in another auditorium. As long as it's a Christian church, we have oneness.

[18:03] Why? Because it's the same body. It's not like this one is European body, and then this one is American body of Christ. No, no. There is only one body.

[18:14] So he said there is one body. Let's all say one body. One body. Romans chapter 12, verse 4 and 5. First Corinthians chapter 12, verse 12.

[18:29] Somebody learn it. Romans chapter 12, verse 5. Let's go to verse 5. It says that, So we be...

[18:42] Let's all read. I think I like it when we're all read it together. Is that okay? Shall we all read it? Let's go. So we be many, all one who be Christ, and everyone members of God.

[18:54] Wow! We are all interconnected. As soon as you become born again, you are my responsibility. I'm your responsibility. Because it's...

[19:06] He said, We being many are one body in Christ. You see, it's not human beings that are one body. It's the in Christness that defines our oneness. If you are in Christ, I have an organic...

[19:19] Don't forget that phrase. Organic union with you. If she's in Christ, he's in Christ. Even though you might come from different postcodes. Even though you used to be in rivalry gangs, once your ex becomes born again, there is this oneness.

[19:43] Not physical oneness, please. Let me give you a proper phraseology for this. It's mystical oneness.

[19:55] It's mystical union with Christ. It's a mystery. It's mystical. It's not physical.

[20:07] It's mystical. So the Thalajjaga term is mystical union. We have mystical union one with another because even though we are many, are we?

[20:21] Yes. Even though we are many, we are one body in Christ. Ephesians chapter 2, verse 16. This is simple. I'm glad somebody's learning something.

[20:36] Ephesians chapter 2, verse 16, it says that, and that he might reconcile both. You know that, remember the both? That he might reconcile both Jews and Gentiles unto God.

[20:48] How? In one body. Christians are one body. That's why you don't have to rejoice because some Christian sister is in trouble.

[21:03] Don't join unbelievers in attacking your fellow Christian. We are one body. 1 Corinthians chapter 12, verse 12.

[21:19] For us, the body is how many? One. Three? One. Four? One. Many? One. The body is how many?

[21:30] One. But how many members? Many. Many members. Even in church today, look at the number of members. But we are one. We are one.

[21:41] Tell somebody we are one. We are one. So learn to forgive. Tell them, learn to forgive. Forgive. Forgive me. Forgive me if I step on your toe. Forgive me. And all the members of that one body, be many, are one body.

[22:00] So also is Christ. Christ is one body. So, seven ones. The first one is one body. Let's all say one body. One body.

[22:11] Everybody say one body. One body. Can somebody say one body? One body. Number two.

[22:23] What is there? One spirit. What is there? One spirit. So, there is one body, one spirit. One spirit here means there are spirits operating in you that is responsible for your being born again.

[22:38] It's not different from if you are born again, there's the same spirit. It's the same spirit. It's the same spirit. In fact, in Romans chapter 8, verse 11, it said, if the spirit, in fact, verse 9 first, verse 9 first, if you don't have the spirit of Christ, you are none of his.

[22:56] That's strong. Romans chapter 8, verse 9. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the spirit. If so be that the spirit of God dwells in you.

[23:07] Now, if any man has not the spirit of Christ, what is the person? He is none of his. Don't be deceived. You don't. What makes you part of Christ is the spirit of Christ.

[23:22] The spirit of Christ. And so, watch this. That means that there can be people walking on earth who don't have the spirit of Christ. Because not everybody has the spirit of Christ and those who don't have the spirit of Christ, it's evident that they don't belong to him.

[23:40] They are none of his. You are not his. You are not his. What makes you part of Christ is not just coming to a church. What makes you part of Christ is the spirit dwelleth in you.

[23:56] I taught you the letter. It's called the indwelling spirit. The spirit of God indwells us. That's what makes us children of God.

[24:07] That's what makes us part of Christ. Being regenerated by the spirit. Titus chapter 3, I think verse 5.

[24:21] Regenerated. Now, not by the works of righteousness which you have done, but according to his mercy, he has saved us by the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost.

[24:38] It's the Holy Spirit that renews us. It's the Holy Spirit that does the work of God in us. Jesus said, the spirit is with you.

[24:51] He said, I'm going and you are not happy I'm going. But it's good that I go because when I go, if I don't go, he will not come. He says, now he is with you. John chapter 14, 16, 17.

[25:04] Now he is with you, but he shall be in you. Wow. Wow. Wow. What's the meaning of Dan Kishon? Thank you.

[25:18] I will pray the Father and he shall give you another covenant that he may abide with you forever. And the next verse, the spirit of two, whom the world cannot receive. Why?

[25:28] Because it seers him not, neither knoweth him, but ye have known him for he dwelleth with you and shall be in you.

[25:38] Before Jesus went to the cross, the spirit was with them. But now, after the cross, the spirit, and when you watch some of those wild movies that maybe somebody drinks, concoction, horror movie or something, you know, when the Dracula bites you, what happens?

[26:00] You also become a vampire. Yeah. You become a vampire. Yeah. In the same way, when I preach to you the word of truth and you receive Jesus, oh, I've infected you with the spirit of God.

[26:24] Hallelujah! The spirit has entered you and you are a different person. You are a different person. You have changed. And sometimes people think we, those of us who are Christian our behavior is based on our, merely or purely our decision to behave.

[26:43] No. Our behavior is built on our nature inside. Something has happened to us. Something has happened to us. So it says that because you are sons, God has sent, Galatians chapter 4, verse 5, because you are sons, God has sent the spirit of his son into your heart.

[27:05] Which Christ, I'm a father! When the Christian shouts, Lord Jesus, it's not just from, it's not just from the mind, it's from his inner man.

[27:19] When you, what makes you a Christian is what has happened in your inner man. Ephesians chapter 3, verse 16, he said, I pray that God will strengthen you by his akashadamahaya, by his, by his spirit in your inner man.

[27:35] Wow. Wow. 2nd Corinthians chapter 4, verse 16 and 17, since he says that, even though our outward man perishes, our inward man, our inward man, the spirit works with our inner man, works in our inner man, works in our inner man.

[27:57] Romans chapter 8, verse 14 and verse 16. Romans says that, for as many as are led by the spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

[28:11] I like verse 15 too. It says, for God, God, you have to shout that, for ye have not received the spirit of bondage. That means when you're born again, you receive a spirit. And he said, the spirit you have received is not a spirit of bondage.

[28:25] My goodness. But you have received a spirit of adoption. You have been adopted into the family of God. Whereby we cry, Abba Father, they can copy our cry, but they can't mimic our adoption.

[28:43] They can copy the way we cry, but they can't copy our nature. Because this nature thing is a spiritual thing. Yes. Verse 16 says that, for the spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are the sons of God, the children of God.

[29:02] There is an, there is an internal evidence. I might not be able to articulate it to you, but I know.

[29:13] Listen, Bishop, when you're the people see this way, I like the way you put it there. Let me say that before I say what that is. Bishop, when you're the people who say, you cannot love without knowing. How can you say, I love, but I don't know I love.

[29:25] I didn't know I love him. I didn't know I love him. No, you cannot love without knowing. That's why Jesus asks Peter, do you love me? Do you love me? John chapter 21, verse 15, 16.

[29:39] Do you love me? Do you love me? You cannot love without knowing. In the same way, you cannot be born again without knowing. You can't say, I'm not ready.

[29:50] I don't know I'm not born again. You are not born again because those of us who are born again, we know it. We know it. Oh yes, we know it. It's not because of our behavior, but it's because of our inner man.

[30:02] Something has happened to me on the inside. Something has happened to me. Something has happened to me. He that is joined to Christ is one spirit. This thing is more spiritual than you think. You can only serve him with your spirit.

[30:16] Thanks be to God. Romans chapter 1, verse 9. Romans chapter 1, verse 9. Romans chapter 1, verse 9. It's therefore, for God is my witness whom I serve with my spirit.

[30:29] It's a spiritual thing. This is a spiritual thing. It's not behavioral thing. It's a spiritual thing. It's a spiritual thing. So Romans chapter 8, verse 9, as I read earlier on, it said, if you don't have the spirit of Christ, he who doesn't have the spirit of Christ, it's none of his.

[30:47] Verse 10. But if Christ be in you, so Christ can be inside you. Oh my goodness. Where is Christ?

[30:58] It's inside me. Where is Christ? It's inside me. Where is Christ? Inside me. Some religions say, oh, we also believe in Jesus. But you come back because their God, their God hated Jesus and he's coming.

[31:12] Jesus is somewhere. No, no, he's not anywhere. He's inside me. He's inside me. He's inside me. He's inside me. John the Baptist said, behold the lamb. Behold the lamb. That's him. He's coming. But we said, no, he's inside me.

[31:23] I'm not telling you he's coming. I'm carrying him. I'm walking with him. He's inside me. He says that if Christ be, Romans chapter 8 verse 10, that if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin.

[31:34] The body is dead because of, but the spirit is alive because of righteous. Did you see how righteous behavior matters? Because of righteousness.

[31:46] Your righteous behavior makes the spirit come alive. Oh my goodness. Your fornication makes the spirit go. You withdraw. The spirit withdraws. Oh no.

[31:57] Oh no. But as you begin to walk in righteousness, a born again sister, a born again believer, as you walk in righteousness, you empower the spirit. The spirit comes alive. The spirit comes alive.

[32:07] He can talk to you. He can guide you. He can direct you. He can instruct you. He can teach you. But when you live in sin, you mute him. He's muted.

[32:18] He can't talk. You know when you watch the movies where someone is kidnapped, they put ducted. Mm, mm, mm, mm, mm. Some of you, you are born again by the spirit.

[32:28] Mm, mm, mm, mm, mm. You are entering a relationship. He wants to tell you no by account of mm, mm, and you are still going in a relationship. Mm, mm. Then when you fall in trouble, you say, Holy Spirit, where were you?

[32:42] Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Let the spirit come alive. Let the spirit come alive.

[32:55] It's one spirit. Someone scream, one spirit. One spirit. 1 Corinthians chapter 6, verse 17, says that he who is joined to the, to the Lord is one spirit.

[33:07] 2 Corinthians chapter 3, verse 17, the Lord is the spirit. One spirit. Ha, ha, ha. My goodness. My goodness.

[33:18] There are no different shades and different types. There's only one Holy Spirit. Yes. One. For we have been baptized into one spirit. 2 Corinthians chapter 12, verse 13.

[33:31] By one spirit, we were all baptized. Say one spirit. One spirit. Into how many bodies? One. One. Yeah. Even though you were baptized in that church, it's the same.

[33:41] My brother was baptized. My uncle was baptized in different. It doesn't matter if it's a Christian church and it's the Christ, he actually believed in Christ, then we are all, we've all entered one spirit.

[33:51] We might be in different places, but we will meet in the spirit. Oh, all roads, every Christian road is leading us into the spirit. Somebody shout hallelujah.

[34:03] Hallelujah. So, one body, one spirit. You know, I want to hold my Bible.

[34:15] That thing is a blessing. I like my Bible. You, you, you are a Christian. For six months, you became a Christian. You've only been buying shoes and scarves.

[34:25] You've not bought a Bible. Yes. I mean, after you became born again, there's nothing wrong with buying them, but you must boast of owning a Bible you bought yourself.

[34:36] I know they've gifted you some Bibles. Somebody has gifted you Bibles and your grandmother left you one and your, your dad gave you a Bible and your, your neighbors gave you Jehovah Witness Bible.

[34:48] It's not a Bible. If you have a black Bible, which is called New World Translation. New World Translation.

[34:59] It is not the Christian Bible. It's not the same as this. Pastor, why are you saying the same as this? Read John chapter one, verse one. He will tell you in the beginning was the word and the word was with God and that's where it ends.

[35:18] It cannot tell you the word was God. No, no, no. It cannot tell you that because Jehovah Witness believed Jesus is not God. And for you to be a true Christian, you must believe Jesus is God and that he died on the cross.

[35:32] God who came in the flesh, born by the Virgin Mary, died on the cross, resurrected on the third day and is seated in heaven and his death was for forgiveness of our sins.

[35:43] You as a sinner, you believe that, that he died for your sins. That's what makes you a Christian, not coming to church. Coming to church doesn't make you a Christian, but you can't be a Christian without going to church because we are one body.

[35:55] As soon as you become a Christian, one of the signs that you're a Christian is you are looking for. When a child is born and the child is healthy, they look for something to suck because they need milk.

[36:06] Anything you put your finger out, they will suck it. The child is okay. So if you are born again, you have the life of God, you cannot exempt yourself from where Christians gather. And there might be different Christian gatherings, but there will be one you belong to.

[36:21] Like the way there are different, a lot of houses in town, isn't it? But your house is not every one of them. Your house is one of them. You must always have a spiritual address. So there is one body, one spirit.

[36:37] Even as you, you know I spoke about their calling. Yeah, God, you can't tell me you're a Christian and they didn't call you. You have a job.

[36:48] Who employed you? No one has employed me. I don't run a business. I'm going to work. To have a job, you must be employed. Unless you are running your own business, soul trader.

[37:04] But the point here is that we are called. Say I'm called. I'm called. Say I'm called. I'm called. The Bible says that for I am called by your name.

[37:16] For I am called of the Lord. For I am called by your name. It says that your... Thank you, Jesus. God didn't call you because he wants to clear his truth.

[37:31] it's like you are over it.

[37:43] Charles! Yes, dad. Dad, he called me. Oh, sorry. I was just calling my truth. God is not calling you because he's just calling to clear.

[37:55] He called you with a purpose. And then he says that every calling has an attachment of hope that comes with it.

[38:13] Even as you are called in one hope of your calling. Ephesians 1 verse 18. He said, I'm praying for you that God will give you the spirit of wisdom and revelation and knowledge and the eyes of your understanding and be enlightened that you may know what?

[38:32] You may know what? The hope of his calling. His calling comes with the hope. And please, okay, I remember years ago about, yeah, almost about 17 years ago when I used to be, I used to preach on television.

[38:56] I explained this and I said something about the Christian hope. Many people from certain backgrounds have started attending church because they are looking for prosperity.

[39:16] Many people have been coming to church because they think that if I can get a Christian man to marry, I'm better off. So, you didn't come for Christ, he didn't come for Christ.

[39:31] He came for a girl, you came for a man. God will connect you. So, it is very easy to come, that's why when we are preaching, preaching to people or preaching in church, we have to be careful.

[39:52] It's very easy to come to church with this idea that my problems are now about to stop. In fact, the truth is sometimes when you come to Jesus, your problems start.

[40:11] How many of you have had problems since you became a Christian? Many years ago, a group of salvationists, Salvation Army, you know, they like playing band.

[40:26] That's their way of doing outreach which is okay. So, they were doing outreach and there's this Johnny guy who was, has become born again and his job was to play the drum. Boom, boom, the big one.

[40:38] Boom, boom. And then, so as he was playing and the preacher finished, the preacher starts preaching. He said, the best thing that can happen to you is to be in Jesus.

[40:49] It's fun. It's amazing. Johnny, is it not true? Oh yeah, I'm just sitting here playing this, this boring drum, this boring. some preaching that tells you come to Jesus and all your problems will stop is not really accurate.

[41:08] Some problems will start when you come to Jesus. A guy came to church, became born again, but his means of living was fraud. But when he became born again, now he's a genuine Christian, he couldn't be doing fraud.

[41:22] And he's not that struggling. Sometimes money to buy food, he didn't have it. his life started with some of the girls. That soft life and party life at a party. Every weekend, you are somewhere, you are somewhere.

[41:36] And it's because of the lifestyle you are living. But now, you are in Christ and you are a genuinely changed person. The spirit of Christ is in you. You know you can't live that anymore.

[41:46] It comes with some problems. Now, when we talk about the hope of his calling, it's said that Apostle Paul, and that must be the same in your case, it's said that Apostle Paul had only two days in his diary.

[42:04] Today and that day. There's a day coming when we were just done before. So, 2 Timothy, chapter 4, verse 7, said, I fought a good fight.

[42:18] I've finished my course and I've kept the faith. Verse 8, said, henceforth, there's later for me a crown of righteousness which the Lord, the righteous shall give to me when at that day.

[42:32] Paul leaped towards that day. We Christians only talk about lifestyle. You have to start thinking about your death style. Wow. When you die, you have to live with the mindset that one day you will stand before a judgment seat.

[42:50] Paul, everything was doing in church, all the preaching, all his work, he had today and that day. That's all that mattered. What I'm doing today towards that day, those two days.

[43:02] Yesterday, I don't care. Today, what I'm doing now? Now, what are you doing? How are you living your Christian life? You have to live it in light of the day, that day. There's a day coming on that day, on that day.

[43:13] 2 Timothy 1, verse 12. For which cause I suffer all this, nevertheless, I am not ashamed for I know in whom I believe and I am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

[43:26] That day. That day. On that day, it's going to be amazing. Paul, Paul worked towards that day. He's one of the few people in life who wrote their obituaries before they die.

[43:39] He said, I'm not waiting for you to write for me. I'm writing my own thing. I have fought a good fight. I have finished my course. I have kept the faith. Why?

[43:51] Because his death style was more important to him than his lifestyle. On that day.

[44:03] On that day. Many believers. And so, when I got born again, in my early days of Christianity, it was normal for a normal Christian to be thinking about that day. Nowadays, many pastors don't even think about it at all.

[44:17] Many pastors don't consider a day coming. Many Christian leaders don't consider a day coming. That's why they live their life the way they live it. Many Christians in their, not just the puppet, their pews as well, don't consider what you're going to say.

[44:33] 2 Timothy chapter, 2 Corinthians chapter 5, verse 10. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ. Wow. Everyone is going to be there on that day.

[44:46] On that day, 2 Timothy chapter 1, chapter 4, sorry, 2 Timothy chapter 4, verse 1, he said that, I charge you before God and the Lord Jesus Christ who will judge the living and the dead.

[45:02] If you spend all your time running away from him, when you die, he'll still judge you. So you judge the, it's not only the living, the living and the dead.

[45:13] So you run away when you're alive. When you die, he'll still judge you. Somebody shouts that day, that day. So this is what we used to say.

[45:25] We look forward to the day we'll be married. Like some of you, that's your entire, much of your brain. Three quarters of your brain is obsessed with the day you marry.

[45:42] You dream about it. You think about it. You watch things about it. You are always imagining. I can only imagine how it's you imagining.

[45:53] You are imagining. Not imagining evil or not imagining sin. You are imagining when you are a husband. Then you are a husband and you come from work and your wife says, hello honey.

[46:04] the hope of his calling is not to make you a wife.

[46:21] Not every Christian woman gets married eventually. Not every Christian man gets married eventually. I'm not saying you won't. I believe you will. But, but, don't pitch your tent in Christianity there.

[46:37] Don't hang the hinges of your Christianity on certain aspirations that ordinary human beings look forward to. Ordinary human beings look forward to having money, having good jobs, having good family life, having good health.

[46:55] That is what ordinary human beings and so the gospel which promises, come to Jesus and you gather and you have good health. Come to Jesus and you have money. Come to Jesus and you have marriage. Come to, it is very dangerous and pernicious. It's not the accurate gospel.

[47:10] That's why someone can be in church for a while and says that I'm disappointed because I've been in church and I'm struggling. Who told you church is an escape from struggling? There are many people who are not in church but they are not struggling.

[47:26] Many people are not in Christ and they are not struggling in the area you are struggling, especially finances. People don't know Christ and they have too much money. So when did being in Christ become a means for getting money?

[47:41] So those of you I am bursting your bubble hoping that one day you will get a lot of money because you are in Christ.

[47:57] It is not the hope of our calling. Some of us by virtue of your assignments you will never lack. In fact, watch this.

[48:07] Lack is not a blessing. So if you are blessed God will move you from the Bible said he shall supply all your needs. But I'm not talking about luxury and I'm not talking about living your life to get abundance.

[48:24] We have friends a pastor friend of mine years ago said, oh my goodness my biggest aim in life is to live in a seven bedroom house with a swimming pool.

[48:39] Yes. Some of us your biggest dream your biggest dream in life your biggest aspiration and hope in life is to own a yacht.

[48:49] Wow. Is to own a yacht. Is to own an apartment in Kensington. Your biggest dream is to be an employer with maybe a hundred employees or a business owner and playing golf whilst you are making your it is not it is not evil in itself but as a Christian that shouldn't be your biggest.

[49:11] Your greatest hope is the hope of his calling. Hallelujah. The hope of his calling and the hope of his calling is one day we shall meet him.

[49:24] We shall meet him. First John chapter 3 verse 1 he said behold what manner of love the father has given unto us that we should be called the sons of God. My goodness. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. What manner of love what kind of love is this?

[49:37] I will worship you forever love you forever because this God is good to do. Hey I will worship you forever love you forever because this God is good behold what manner of love the father has given unto us that we should be called the sons of God.

[50:08] I'm a child of God. Come on. It's such the greatest privilege of life that we should be called the sons of God. Therefore the world know us as not because it doesn't know him.

[50:20] Don't let us try to prove a point for the world to like us. Jesus said in the book of John he says that if the world loved me they would have loved you. The world you are not he said the world loves in so John chapter 18 no chapter 15 from verse 17, 18, 19 yeah I think so.

[50:39] He said that for 15, 17, 18 if they were if ye were of the world the world would love his own but because ye are not of the world but I have chosen I have chosen you out of there for the world hated you.

[50:56] The world won't like you. Just know this for once and for all the world will not like you. If you are going to be a pure Christian and war with Christ the world will not like you.

[51:09] And some of you your friends will exclude you. verse 18 let's look at verse 18 there's something there. Verse 18 it says if the world hates you ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

[51:25] The world hated me first before it hated you. So why are you surprised? Verse 20 why are you surprised? Remember the word that I have spoken unto you or the word that I said unto you that a servant is not greater than his Lord.

[51:40] If they have persecuted me they will also persecute you. If they have kept my saying they will keep yours also. Don't let us be in a hurry to go into bed with the world.

[51:59] The world will not like us. But what I'm saying is that you become born again and all your fundamental aspirations are still the same thing like the worldly. There should be something that supersedes every natural fundamental aspiration which is the hope of your calling.

[52:18] When you say yes to Jesus Colossians chapter 1 verse 27 said Christ in you hope of glory. The hope of glory. First Corinthians Ephesians chapter 1 verse 18 it says that that I'm praying for you that God will give you the spiritual wisdom and revelation and knowledge of him that the eyes of your understanding be enlightened for what it is so you will know the hope of many people don't know the hope of their calling.

[52:43] Behold what manner of love the father has given unto us verse John chapter 3 verse 1 that we should be called the sons of God the world does not know us because the world did not know him. Verse 2 I like the verse 2 it says that verse 2 says that beloved now we are the sons of God and it has not yet appeared what we shall be but we know that when he shall appear when he appears we shall when he shall appear we shall be like him for we shall see him as he is and then the next verse says that he who has this hope oh you see the kind of hope I'm talking about you see the kind of hope I'm talking about the reason why you are sinning left right and center is because you don't have the hope of his coming he who has this hope in himself purifies it's in your day it's not your screen it's not your bible he who has this hope in himself purifies himself even as Jesus is pure the hope of meeting him makes you keep yourself when you lose sight of the hope we are all being called into that's when that's why it's very so dangerous for people to come to church and all the aspiration in church is for carnal things it's for money it's for good health it's good money is good good health is good and may God give you all in Jesus name but that shouldn't be a fundamental desire marriage is good and may God give you good marriage but there's something that supersedes that for the believer and no unbeliever can ever have that kind of hope but if you have a hope that all believers can have it is not the ultimate hope no unbeliever can look forward to the coming of Jesus no how can an unbeliever look forward to the coming no it's not in an unbeliever to do that it can do it even if you try to it can do it it's like trying to teach a dog how to read the news he can't do it you get what I'm saying believer's hope is the hope of his calling there's this hope that comes with his calling not my calling he did the call and the call comes with the hope the hope of
