Give No Place To the Devil

[0:13] May Jesus Christ reveal Himself to you as you listen. Ephesians 4.26. Wow, I like Ephesians. Ephesians 4.26 says that, Be ye angry and sin not, let not the sun go down upon your wrath, neither give place to the devil.

[0:36] Let him thus still, still no more, but rather let him labor, working with his hands, the things which is good that he may have to give to him that need it. Amen.

[0:52] Now you can see very clearly, as I commented, it says that, Be angry and sin not. I think I took my time to explain that you have, anger is a legitimate human emotions.

[1:12] There are times you have to be angry about some things, or you have to be angry about unrighteousness. Angry, but sin not. Sin not. Anger is a necessary and legitimate human emotional expression.

[1:30] It's okay, but when your anger is leading you into sin, it's what God frowns on. And it says that, Be angry and sin not.

[1:41] Let not the sun go down on your wrath, which I explained last week. Then the next statement is pointing to the previous text.

[1:53] It says, Let not the sun go down on your wrath. Then it says, Give, nor give place to the devil. Give me English Standard Version, ESV.

[2:04] It says that, And give no opportunity to the devil. When the sun goes down over your anger, you are giving Satan a platform to operate.

[2:21] Don't give the devil an opportunity. The devil is a bad devil. Any Christian doctrine that marginalizes or that ignores the reality of the devil is not a sound doctrine.

[2:40] The devil is a real person. He's a personal devil. In the book of 1 Peter chapter 5, verse 7 and 8.

[2:56] He said, Be sober. Casting all your care upon you. Casting all your care upon you. For he cares for you. That's talking about God cares for you. Someone say, God cares for me.

[3:06] God cares for me. Say it louder. God cares for me. He said, Casting all, not some of your cares. All your cares upon him. For he cares for you.

[3:18] Then the next statement says that, Be sober. Say sober. Sober. Do you know what it means to be sober? Let's see if the amplifier has anything different to say.

[3:29] Be well balanced and self-discipline. Well balanced and self-discipline.

[3:40] So, if you do not learn how to work with God and be led by the spirit and not by your carnal instincts.

[3:52] All the aspirations in God will be dashed. Because Satan will feed on that weakness. Satan will feed on the weakness.

[4:04] He will feed on that thing inside you. Which you haven't been able to bring under subjection. 1 Corinthians chapter 9. Verse 27. He said, Therefore, I say that, but I discipline my body and bring it into subjection.

[4:21] Lest when I have preached to others, I myself should be disqualified. You can be active in church preaching and doing everything and still have the responsibility of handling your own body.

[4:35] No. It says that you may know how to possess your body. 2nd, 1st Thessalonians chapter. Is it chapter 4 verse 3? 1st Thessalonians chapter 3 verse 4.

[4:46] That each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor. Give us a different translation. NIV. Okay, I think before then, verse 3.

[4:58] The verse 3 is better. He said, For this the will of God. Your sanctification. That you should abstain from sexual immorality. That each of you should learn how to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable.

[5:14] Is this what you can't understand? And that one is very personal. Every one of us. This belongs to all of us. All of us.

[5:27] Church leaders and new members alike. We all have bodies. The bodies have instincts and desires. Oh, yes.

[5:39] Because this is body. Body. If you cast, blood will come off. There's blood inside this. I know some of you don't have blood. But me? There's blood here. If you have blood, it means that you can sin.

[5:54] He said, In sin did my mother conceive me. So I showed up. I'm a package. Somebody with an unusual ability to flow in sin.

[6:05] Don't forget the body of sin. Am I preaching to somebody? I'm a Christian. Oh, yes. So, Pastor, what should I do?

[6:16] I'm trying to overcome this thing. And it's not going. I've tried. I've tried. Start cutting off. Chop some people off.

[6:28] Chop them off like gangrene. Yeah. Bible talks about gangrenos. Second Timothy chapter 2 verse 16.

[6:40] One of the translations. Gangrene. You know gangrene? It's a cancer. Yes. It said, Their message will spread like gangrene. King James said gangrene. Yes.

[6:51] New King James. Their message will spread. Their teachings. Their message will spread like cancer. Hymenos and philetus are of the storm. So, everybody will have a hymenos and philetus.

[7:04] Look at the next verse. Who stray concerning the truth? Say that the resurrection has already passed. And they overthrow the faith of many. Look at the next verse. It said, Nevertheless, the foundation of the law stands firm.

[7:19] They stray. So, if you want to remain strong. To learn how to possess your body's sanctification. First of all, what you feed on your ears and your eyes.

[7:32] Second, your association. It's up to you. Who you choose to be in your inner core. No one can force you. But your destiny will pay for it. Your destiny will pay for it.

[7:43] But all these things you are saying. I don't really. I'm very strong. You. If anyone should say they are strong. It's not you. It's not you. You look strong.

[7:55] But you are very weak. Look at the things that you are not able to overcome. Stop boasting. Stop boasting and put systems in place. First Thessalonians chapter 4.

[8:10] It's the will of God that you should be sanctified. That you should avoid sexual immorality. That each of you should learn. Say learn. Learn. Say learn. Learn.

[8:20] That's why you don't have to be so angry with somebody who has messed up. Take your time. I mean I don't care what you do. As long as you have a genuine heart for God. That's all. I can work with it.

[8:32] If you have a genuine heart for God. Let's work. Because you are not a superb woman or superman. I don't care about your mistakes. I care about whether you really love God.

[8:43] Whether you really have a heart for God. And if you have a heart for God. And you find yourself messing up. Don't stay in it. Get up. If you fall 20 times. Get up 20 times.

[8:56] Keep pushing yourself. That's what determines where your heart is. And I just want to work with people who have a heart for God. When you don't have a heart for God.

[9:06] It doesn't matter how nice you look. And how well put together you are. Because Satan will use you. You are ready for yourself. So you must learn. Each of us must learn to control his own body.

[9:19] In a way that is holy and honorable. Verse 3. God's will is for you to be holy. Tell somebody. Holy. Holy. So stay away from all.

[9:31] Sex will say. I know you can't say it out loud. Sex will say. Why is this pastor always preaching about sex? Because you are always thinking about it.

[9:43] Yes. Why shouldn't I say what the Bible is saying? The younger you are. The more the enemy will tempt you. And try to disrupt you.

[9:56] Yes. How about older people? The devil tempts them as well. But the responsibility on their head. If you have a wife. And you have four children. You are careful.

[10:10] But if you are not married. So. Let's look at it. So I can move on. The next verse. Then each of you.

[10:21] Will control his own body. And live. In holiness. And honor. Message. God wants you to live. A pure life. Keep yourself from sexual.

[10:32] Promiscuity. Learn to. Appreciate. And give. Dignity to your body. Oh yeah. You want God to use. Some people.

[10:42] They don't care. Whether God will use me or not. They don't care. Your destiny will care. Oh. Some of us. Who want God to use us. You will see how he will shine. Yes.

[10:54] You can't be hungry for God. And remain. An honest in life. The longer you have stayed with God. Genuinely and passionately. The better your life gets.

[11:06] It affects your marriage. It affects your children. In your later years. You feel like. God has been good to me. When their children. Are becoming prisoners. Because of.

[11:18] Crime. And. You have peace. Because you have been. Working with God. For so long. And impurity. So. Working with God. The Bible says that. He has.

[11:29] Godly. A godliness. Prophets. In the life. That now is. And the one that is to come. First Timothy. Chapter 4. Verse 7. And verse 8. Praise God.

[11:42] Is somebody learning something? Let's go back to Ephesians. Chapter 4. How did I go so deep into this? I was talking about the devil. Yes. Ah. First Peter.

[11:52] Thank you. First Peter. Chapter 5. Verse 8. He said. Don't give Satan. He said. Be sober. And be vigilant. Sober. Another way. Okay. That's when we went to the Amplified.

[12:04] Right? Okay. Amplified. And I went so. Well balanced. Your self-discipline. Well balanced. Be sober. And be alert. One of the things. I thank God for.

[12:15] Is he helps me to be alert. So I'm usually alert. Who comes around me. What food I eat. Where I'm going.

[12:26] Even when I'm on the road. I'm alert about. Which car is behind me. Which car is. I'm all. Naturally. I'm very vigilant. And alert. Be.

[12:37] Be sober. Be vigilant. Why? Because. You have an enemy. That's why. Paul speaks about. False brethren.

[12:48] Who have. Clandestinely. Or secretly. Sleeped amongst us. Yes. They have come in. False brethren. If I use the word. Galatians. Use the word. False brethren.

[12:59] He said. Galatians 2.4. And. And. This. Occurs because of. False brethren. Secretly brought in. Who came in. By stealth.

[13:10] You know stealth. Secrets. Clandestinely. By stealth. We are brought. Secrets brought in. Came in. To spy out. Our liberty.

[13:21] Which we have in Christ Jesus. That they might bring us. Into bondage. It's always been Satan's plan. He sneaks amongst us. Did you.

[13:31] Do you get what I'm trying to say? Yes. Yes. So I have the responsibility. Of guarding myself. Anyone who comes around me. I'm guarded. Why? Because your adversary. You have an opponent.

[13:43] We have an adversary. An adversary. Is. Working. Contrary to what you are trying to achieve. So in football.

[13:53] You have adversaries. They are. They are determining. Who's going to go. An adversary is determining. That you want to build a church. The church will collapse. An adversary.

[14:04] You want to build a strong. A strong marriage. The marriage will collapse. An adversary. Is. Working against. What you are working towards. He said. Be super. And be vigilant.

[14:15] For. Your. Adversary. Dead. And he said. Let me tell you. It's not your mother. It's not your. Your ex. He's not your neighbor. He's not your cousin. He's not that lady in the church.

[14:27] He's not the other lady. Your adversary is actually. The devil. The devil. That's why I said. Don't give the devil a foostle. The devil.

[14:38] Is the one. We are dealing with. Not human beings. The devil. Working through human beings. Jesus. Look at Peter. He said. Satan. Get behind me. Peter is not Satan.

[14:49] Yes. He's working through Satan. Matthew chapter 16. Verse 23. Satan. Get behind me. The devil.

[14:59] In James chapter 4. Verse 7. What are you supposed to do. To the devil. He said. Resist the devil. Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil.

[15:10] And he will flee. Instead of giving you a foothold. You can resist him. Someone say. Resist the devil. Resist the devil. Say in the name of Jesus. In the name of Jesus.

[15:21] I resist. I resist. The devil. The devil. And all his plans. And his agents. I resist. In the name of Jesus. I resist. I resist. The devil.

[15:31] The devil. Now. Now. Sometimes you have to resist him in your thinking. Oh yeah. Tax your mind. The kind of thoughts you are entertaining.

[15:42] Nobody likes me. Nobody likes me. But you are doing so well in Christ. This guy. Nobody likes me. Satan has started priming you. Resist him. Then how to resist the devil in your mind.

[15:54] Somebody has gone to tell pastor something. That's why. He's talking about me. Who should he talk about? Wow. Is that what he did this afternoon? Alright. So be so by vigilant.

[16:05] Because your adversary. He says. And then he says. Resist the devil. He will flee from you. We can see. Satan's representation in scripture. Very clearly. In Revelation chapter.

[16:17] 12. Verse 9. He says that the devil. He says that. So the great dragon was cast out. That old serpent. Called the devil. And Satan. Who deceives the whole world.

[16:30] He was cast to the earth. And his angels were cast out with him. For the devil. That's the total. For the devil has come down to you.

[16:41] Having great wrath. Because he knows. That he has a short time. So the devil. Comes with a lot of wrath. Because he knows. That he doesn't have much time.

[16:52] So you have to be aware. Don't give the devil. The food store. In Ephesians chapter 6 verse 11. Ephesians chapter 6 verse 11. Put on the whole armor of God.

[17:04] That you'll be able to stand. Against the wiles of what? The devil. He has tricks. You have to. You need the whole. So you can stand against the wiles of the devil.

[17:16] The devil is a personal devil. He attacks you on different fronts. Sometimes he attacks you. He has a way of activating your old passions. Yeah. Your former conduct.

[17:30] He has a way of. Staring up your old passions. If you have been a Christian for more than a year. You realize that. This Christian thing can be interesting. They are telling you.

[17:41] You are so much on fire. You are like an angel. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. And other times too.

[17:52] When we are singing. Hallelujah. You go. Hallelujah. You are dumb. Because. You are struggling. There are times you struggle.

[18:05] There are times you. But just you have to keep working with God. It's very important to know. Certain has a way of activating your old passions.

[18:17] You know what is interesting? The things you have stopped. Particularly if it was an addiction. Or something you used to do a lot. You have stopped. Don't think it has stopped.

[18:29] Can I say it again? But there are people here. Who used to do a lot of pornography. And when you became born again. You stopped. You were free from it. Totally. You were happy.

[18:40] Until. One and a half years. Into being born again. Then. The things started creeping in. Now you have gone back. You gave a testimony. How you stopped. But afterwards.

[18:51] Because. If it is behavioral. It does not leave you for life. Certain will be waiting. For the appropriate time. To activate it. And so.

[19:03] And do you know how it activates it? With minimal compromise. You don't have to compromise. One little minimum. Minimum compromise. The time begins to activate it.

[19:14] Activate it. So those of you who used to. Let's say. You used to watch a lot of bad stuff. You stopped. You stopped. And then one day. You were just. You felt like. Let me just go back to Twitter. I'm fine now.

[19:25] And the Twitter. You just saw an image. It was in the back. And then later on. You saw someone. Just doing hair. Makeup. That's all. But you found her. So pretty. You just was looking at the hair.

[19:37] So there's nothing wrong with that. You know. But it's beginning to start. After about three months. Now by the time you realize. You started enjoying the whole package. You are watching.

[19:48] You are watching. But you say. I'm just watching hair. And the way. Are you a hairdresser? But by the time you realize. You are actually. Feeding on hair. Attractiveness. So it started with just.

[20:00] Hair of a beautiful girl. Wow. But it is progressing gradually. Before you could say. Jack. You've gone back to Twitter. Watching hardcore. You understand what I'm saying?

[20:11] Don't give him a footstool. Give. The devil. Don't give the devil. A footstool. If you give him a footstool. A footstool is. Something you can put his feet on.

[20:23] He will take over your. Your house. And one place. For him to put his foot. That is enough for him. The slightest compromise.

[20:33] You allow. You are gone. When. My early days in Christian life. One of my biggest. Strictest. Policy. Was no compromise.

[20:45] Under any circumstance. You call it one little compromise. Oh. Okay. They are just my friends. Okay. Okay. Let's all go together. Let's go and dance. You know me. I don't drink. Oh yeah.

[20:55] I won't drink. Okay. I'll just drink coke. I've compromised. I knew. I know that. I used to go there. Drink a lot. But now I say only coke. Why are you going back there?

[21:06] The problem is there. As you go. That environment. Will activate something in you. Am I preaching? Yes. Because as all this.

[21:20] Holy God. It's waste. Because Satan knows how he gets you. He's waiting for you. He's afraid. Whilst you are on the floor. Crying.

[21:31] He's sitting there. And he. He doesn't go foul. He's sitting on Edgware Road. He's waiting for you. And every now and then.

[21:43] He says have they finished? They have him finished. And he knows he'll get you. He knows he'll get you. Oh. Shibi. He knows he'll come back.

[21:57] He knows. He knows what button to press. He has all your buttons on his hand. He just watches you. Okay. There he comes. Wait. Wait. And he press the button.

[22:54] Cocaine was short thin. It hasn't gone. A.A. Allen was an alcoholic. Great man of God.

[23:05] Use him. Now. When he became big. When he was stressed. The only way of relieving stress. Was go back to the bottle. He died. Alcoholic.

[23:17] He died. Drunk over. There's a gentleman. He used to be televangelist in America. Big. Zachary Timms. He used to be on drugs.

[23:29] And then he became born again. But you see. After he became born again. Don't be deceived to think that. Satan has gone. He takes a break. Even Jesus. After Satan tempted him. He left them.

[23:42] For another time. Yes. And. And now when the devil had ended. Every temptation. He departed from him. Until an opportune time. So.

[23:53] Satan. Doesn't live. Permanently. Because he's looking for. Permanent. Live to remain. He never lives.

[24:06] What am I trying to tell you. The things he used to struggle with. Are the things you are likely. To start struggling with later. Can I say that again. Whatsoever you used to struggle with.

[24:17] Now that you are in Christ. And you seem free. Those are the things. That you are likely. To start struggling with. Again later. Many people after marriage. They go back to pornography.

[24:29] They go back to masturbation. After marriage. After marriage. Because you thought. You are free. There is nothing like. Permanent freedom.

[24:41] Unless you are permanently. Fixed. In Christ. And. Be sober. And vigilant. Permanently. That's the only thing. That guarantees. Every one of us.
