[0:00] Hallelujah. Thank you for tuning in to this powerful message by David Entry at Karis Phase 2,! Our Christ Centred Youth Services. You can never find Christ outside of the open Word of God.
[0:13] May Jesus Christ reveal Himself to you as you listen. I'm about to teach a word that has radically really impacted, is working on me more than I can explain.
[0:34] I'm just going to go back to Ephesians chapter 2. Verse 1, Verse 2, Verse 3, Verse 4, Verse 5, Verse 6.
[0:48] And then we land on what I call publicity campaign for God. God is doing adverts, publicity campaign, election year.
[1:14] God is on a campaign mission. It's deeper than you thought. God is on a campaign mission. So in Ephesians chapter 2, in Ephesians chapter 1, it opens up by, after the introduction, Paul and Apostle, blessed be God, the Father of our Lord, and Apostles by grace be unto you.
[1:41] Then he starts, blessed be God. He starts blessing God. He starts his letter with eulogy. Or, he starts his letter, eulogy is blessing. Eulogy, blessing God. He starts his message, his epistle with doxology.
[2:03] Doxology, what people end with, he started with it. Because what I'm coming to talk about is so good, let's bless God first. Instead of saying the amen, when do you normally say amen?
[2:19] At the end. He said, I want to start with amen. Jesus was fond of doing that. Jesus would say, verily, verily, I say unto you.
[2:30] Now that's amen, amen. He won't finish saying before he said the amen. Before he said, I'm telling you, amen, amen, I say unto you. So Paul also said, blessings, blessings unto God.
[2:42] He blessed the Father. After talking about the Father, he slips into the Son. After talking about the Son, verse 13, introduces the Holy Ghost.
[2:55] Then he talked about, because I've heard of your faith and all that, I don't cease to pray for you. Making mention of you in my prayer that the God of the, it says that the God of, verse 3 talks about the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
[3:15] Verse 17, I'm sorry. The God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory. Verse 3 says that the God and Father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, the God of Jacob.
[3:29] Then he comes to the God of Jesus and the God of the church. It's okay to say, Romans chapter 8, verse 11 says that he who raised Christ from the dead.
[3:41] Acts chapter 13, verse today. Yeah, that's the one, verse 30. But God raised him from the dead. God is always working on. Oh, God doesn't go into hiding.
[3:52] There's a difference between theism and deism. Deism is a philosophy and idea that there is a God who created heavens and the earth.
[4:04] When he finished creating it, he left it. And we, reason and logic and human systems can run the earth.
[4:14] So God is not interested in anything. There are no angels, no spirits. We think in the 18th century, in the times of enlightenment, they came up with all these ideas that God is no more interested in.
[4:30] He created the world and left us to run it. That's called deism. But deism is God created the world and he's still involved in running it.
[4:42] Yes. So when you are a deist, you believe God is working amongst us. When you are a deist, you don't believe in all this God, God, God, God stuff, God stuff.
[4:55] Common sense can run things. So, it's that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, then Ephesians chapter 1, I pray that the Father of glory, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation, the knowledge of him, that the eyes of your understanding, being enlightened, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, what is the exceeding riches of his glory, the glorious riches, no, yeah, that you may know what is the hope of his calling, what are the riches of the glories of his inheritance in the saints, and the exceeding greatness of his power that works towards us who believe.
[5:38] Which power he exercised when he raised Jesus from the dead and raised him above and seated him on his right hand. Far above is as you as well, no?
[5:49] Far above principalities and powers. Now, principalities and powers are senior to witches. They operate in witches. So, principalities and power.
[6:01] Jesus is far above them. Do you understand? Yes. Far above. It's just like the traffic warden.
[6:12] You know, he has power on the road. And the American president is far above traffic warden. Very far. Jesus is far above principalities and power.
[6:24] And there's a certain power that worked and took him that far. He said, that power is working towards you too. As long as you believe. It's in the Bible. Your condition is believing.
[6:36] Towards us who believe. Then, so he speaks about all these heavyweight truths. About what God has done.
[6:47] Then, chapter 2, he said, and you. Wow. You. You. He made alive. Who were dead in your trespasses and sins.
[7:02] In which, in that state. That's your state. He once worked according to the course of this world. According to the prince. Oh.
[7:13] So, you see that your cousin who is always talking rubbish about church. Yeah. It's working according to. There's a power of the air that's working in him. But, obviously, we are all like that.
[7:24] So, there is some power that was working in anybody who is not in Christ. There is power. It's called the power of the air.
[7:35] It's the spirit that now works in sense of disobedience. Those who disobey the gospel. There's a spirit at work in them. That's the scripture.
[7:47] I've explained all this, so I don't want to belabor it. But, I'm going somewhere. Amongst whom, that's talking about, we used to be like them. We once conducted our lives.
[7:57] Once in the last of our flesh. How many of you used to live based on the last of your flesh? All your decisions were last inspired. It was based on your natural instincts.
[8:11] How you feel about things. What you just, your feelings. Oh, that's all. When you are not born again. So, he says that. Among whom we also once conducted ourselves in the last of our flesh.
[8:24] Fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind. And we're by nature, that's the worst bit. By nature, children of wrath. Nature. So, naturally, when God sees, you know, when you see some dogs.
[8:40] You are walking a dog and then they see another dog. Some befriend the others. Others to fight. Yes. That's, see, to that dog, that's by nature an object of wrath.
[8:54] So, anytime they set their eyes on, something provoked, gets provoked in them against them. You know what I'm saying? So, it's a view by nature. You are a child of wrath. By nature.
[9:04] As soon as you are born, it's that kind. Naturally. So, those of you say, naturally, me, this is who I am. That is where the wrath of God targets. Naturally.
[9:17] Naturally. I don't like it when people talk to me like that. I get very upset. Ask for me. Ask for me. Ask for me. Ask for me. Ask for me. Ask for me. Ask for me. Ask for me. Ask for me. That's why I said, I am crucified with Christ on the cross.
[9:32] That's me must die for Christ to live. For me to live is Christ. So, okay. Let's get back to the text. Verse 1 tells us that we were dead in sins.
[9:46] Verse 2 shows us how we were slaves to sin. And verse 3 shows us how we are condemned in sin.
[9:58] On the cross, Jesus Christ. You know there were three crosses? When Jesus was died. How many of you are there? There were three crosses. Which one was the middle cross? Jesus. And the one to the left?
[10:12] Huh? One of the thieves. And to the right? The three crosses. One was dying for sins. Another one was dying to sin.
[10:25] The other one was dying in sin. The one who was going to hell died in sin. The one who was going to paradise died to sin.
[10:37] The one who came to save us died for sins. Three the same day. Three people hanged on the cross. We have to learn how to die to sin.
[10:49] So we don't die in sins. If you die in sins, that is bad news. So it says that this was our state.
[11:00] Then verse 3 is where everything changes. So anyone who is not born again is in verse 1. Its condition is in verse 1, verse 2, and verse 3.
[11:16] Human beings, listen to this very carefully because it's theological. Human beings, we have depravity. We have total depravity.
[11:29] Depraved means not that everything, we are entirely corrupted, but every aspect of our lives is tainted by corruption, tainted by sin.
[11:42] Do you understand that? So there may be good parts of you, some aspects of your life are okay, but every aspect of your life is not completely clear, clean of sin.
[11:55] Sin infiltrates every soul. Whatever you do, anytime you try to present anything to God, it's tainted. It's tainted. Even the best of you is tainted.
[12:08] That's how bad it is. But there's a problem. In Hebrews chapter 4, verse 13, it says, I like the King James, it says that the God whom we have, it said, the God with whom we have to do.
[12:24] That's a very funny English. This is King James, it's the last statement there. It says that everything is naked and open unto the eyes of him.
[12:35] That's talking about God. with whom we have to do. The God with whom we have to do is a certain type of God. That is where the problem starts from.
[12:49] The God with whom we have to do is a certain type of God. Three characteristics of this God we have to do.
[13:01] Three aspects we have to know about this God. Number one, he's holy. Everybody say God is holy. God is holy. What does it mean for us to say God is holy?
[13:12] God is holy means that he's different. He's separated from us. He's not like us. So the things that tempt us can tempt him. He's not dirty.
[13:24] He's pure. He is different. Everybody say God is different. God is different. Now, you are a mechanic. You fix engines.
[13:36] And then you come, and somebody's bride, you're going to walk the bride down the aisle, holding them, with your hands from the mechanic thing. You see, it's not good. Now, human beings are, you remember what I just said, we are totally depraved.
[13:51] Every aspect of our life is stained by sin. So when you come near God, he's white, it's a problem. But we have to, with whom we have to do.
[14:04] The God with whom we have to do is white. When I say white, I hope you are nice. Please don't get it. There's no human being who is white. There's no human being who is white.
[14:16] And there's no human being who is black. This is black. Have you seen anybody like that? Stop. So the God with whom we have to do is holy.
[14:30] And we who are trying to do with God, we are stained. So, don't touch me. Don't come near me. You can't come near me. That's one of the problems.
[14:41] Okay? Secondly, about God, God is sovereign. When we say God is sovereign, do you know what it means? He's in charge.
[14:55] When somebody is sovereign, for instance, when I come to your house, I cannot be telling you where you should put your chair. But when you come to my house, when you rent a house, they will tell you no pictures.
[15:13] Why? Why can't I do it? Because I'm the landlord. I'm sovereign in this property. I can choose to change all the tiles, but I can instruct you, don't touch the tiles.
[15:24] You can come and change the tiles. I can choose to. But I can ask you, okay, feel free and change the tile. Why? Because I'm sovereign over there. Now, God is sovereign. That means when he wants to do something, no one can stop him.
[15:39] No one can say, oh, no, I'll block God from doing something. You can't block God because he's sovereign. Third thing you want to know about God is that God, because he's holy, he always punishes sin.
[15:56] Everybody say God punishes sin. God punishes sin. Have you noticed what I'm trying to draw attention to? God is holy. We are not holy. And so, even if we don't come to him, he created us and we are accountable to him.
[16:13] How are you going to give accountability to holy God with this your sin? Two, because he's holy, he has to punish sin.
[16:25] That means you are in trouble. But the trouble gets worse when no one can stop God from punishing you. And no one can deliver you from God.
[16:37] So, if you are a sinner, your problem is even not just the sins. Your problem is God. The biggest problem of the sinner is God.
[16:52] The problem of the sinner is God. And look, verse 1, it says that we are dead in sin.
[17:02] Oh, bad news. Verse 2, it says we were slaves to sin. Oh, bad news. Verse 3, it says that we are condemned in sin. Oh, bad news.
[17:14] But God. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. God. He is, we are in a problem.
[17:28] We are in trouble with God. Why? Why? Because of our sins. But why should we be in trouble with God because of our sins? Because he's holy. I mean, that's what it is.
[17:42] The God with whom we have to do is holy. We are sinful. So, that means, watch this. We are on a collision course with the eternal judgment of God. We are on a collision course with the punishment of God.
[17:56] And not just that. We are on a collision course with the wrath of God. You are rushing. You are going forward. What you are going to meet is the wrath of God. You are on a, you can't escape it.
[18:07] Why? Because of your sins. When you receive the Lord, Ten Commandments, how many of you have seen, or maybe you've had X-rays done before?
[18:21] So, maybe you had some problem and they did some X-ray and they show you the X-ray. Then you say, okay. Then you use the X-ray they give you, the film to what?
[18:39] To tie your broken arm. The X-ray doesn't fix problem. What does it do? The law doesn't fix problem.
[18:51] It just shows you what is wrong with you. It said, Romans 7, once I was alive without the law.
[19:10] And when the law came, sin revived. I was alive without the law.
[19:20] But when commandment came, sin and I died. The commandment rather came to show how bad my state was.
[19:32] So, the Bible says in Romans chapter 3, that by, verse 21, that by in the sight, oh, verse 20, sorry. Let's go by verse 20. Therefore, by the deeds of the law, no flesh shall be justified.
[19:44] Why? For by the law is there not. You actually get to know sin. Therefore, no flesh can be justified in the sight of God by the law.
[19:55] Because the law is so dangerously pure. And we are so depraved and abstained in every aspect of our being, that when the law comes near, our attempt to do good makes us even look worse.
[20:11] Because the law, it came from the holiness of God. The law is so white, it became our problem. All right, church.
[20:26] The law. The law. So, those who said, just obey the Ten Commandments, nobody can. We were guilty.
[20:39] Guilty. When we stand before God, it's not like God is trying to see where you've gone wrong. You've already, your case is closed. You were caught on camera.
[20:51] You are already, the verdict is written. Your case is closed. You are actually guilty. It says we were dead in our sins.
[21:03] It's not like we are trying. What can a dead man do? Nothing. Can a dead man try to behave properly? Can a dead man try to upgrade their, make some new decisions?
[21:13] No, a dead man is in a state that can't do anything. That is the problem. Your sin is, because of your sin, you are on, we are on, we are on a collision course with God.
[21:27] And yet, a dead man can't do anything about his state. But there's another good news hidden in that same statement. The good news from God is, you don't have to do anything about it.
[21:41] The bad news is, you can't do anything about your sinful state.
[21:59] And the good news is, you don't have to. This is what is called the gospel. That the gospel can be summarized in two ways.
[22:19] What did you say? What did you say? What did you say? You can summarize the gospel in those two ways. What did you say?
[22:57] I'm on my way to condemnation. I'm deserving of punishment. The wrath of God is against me.
[23:09] Did you hear that? The wrath of God, God's wrath is against me. And yet, God. The wrath of God is against me. And yet, God.
[23:19] It is the wrath of God that makes it a good news. The bad news is, I have a serious problem with God.
[23:40] Because he's holy. Because he's sovereign. And he actually punishes sin. I can't escape. Because of his sovereignty. I can't escape.
[23:52] He's holy. And because he's holy. And I'm not. I can't. There's no way out. He's sovereign. There's no way. And he punishes sin.
[24:04] Bad news. But the good news is, but God. Don't. I heard a story of a young boy. He had a meeting with the church elders. A board of church elders.
[24:16] And they asked him a few questions. And he said, I really want to be part of the church core leadership or something. And he said, why? He said, because I'm now a child of God.
[24:30] I mean. And he said, what makes you think you're a child of God? He said, I did my part and God also did his part. Oh, okay. The church leaders who are very theological. They know that no one can do anything about your salvation.
[24:43] So what does this guy mean by I did my part and God did it? They said, what do you mean by I did my part? He said, I brought my, my contribution was my sin, isn't it? So I brought my sin and God also took away my sins.
[24:56] Your contribution to your salvation is the sin you bring. I told you about a Sunday school child who the teacher asked, what, who can hide anything from God?
[25:13] Everybody said nothing. Nothing can be hidden from the eyes of God. According to Hebrews chapter 4, verse 13, I read it earlier on. The one we have to do. With whom we have to do. He says, all things, everything is naked and open the eyes of.
[25:25] So everybody said, no, nothing can be hidden from the sight of God. And one of the children said, I know. So what is it? He said, my sins, when is covered by the blood of Jesus.
[25:41] My sins, when they are covered by the blood of Jesus, God cannot see it. God cannot see it. God cannot see it. God cannot see it. God cannot see it. A teacher was asking a preacher, he's a teacher of the gospel, was asking some people that when you die, where will you go? And then one of the children said, I'll go to heaven.
[26:15] So, and he said, if God asks you, why should you let you come to heaven? What are you going to say? On what grounds should he let you come to heaven? Why don't they say, I'll just tell God, I'm dead, so let me come. I'm dead.
[26:31] Because I have to die before he goes, I'm dead, so I have to come. Praise God. We were on a collision course with God himself, but God, so the sinner's problem is God.
[26:53] God saved us from our sins, yes or no? Yes. Christ died to save us from our sins. But the truth, your logical deep implication is, God saved us from what I've explained.
[27:06] Who is our problem? God. So who do we need to be saved from? God. So, but the problem is God is so sovereign. Who can deliver it from God's hands?
[27:18] So God said, no one can deliver sinful man from me. So because of my mercy, but God, somebody say, but God.
[27:33] But God. You didn't say it with conviction. But God. But God, and he told us about this God, who is rich in mercy.
[27:47] It will just be advisable and appropriate and prudent to explore mercy. There is a difference between mercy and grace.
[28:00] Many people keep saying, amazing grace, amazing grace. That's true. But you don't realize that without mercy, grace can't get to you. He said, let us, Hebrews chapter 4 verse 16.
[28:12] Therefore, let us come boldly before the throne of what? The throne of what? I can hear the throne of what? And what do you find? Mercy. Mercy. When you are coming, mercy must be your motor kit.
[28:29] Mercy must be your red carpet. It must go ahead before grace can reach out to you. So what is mercy? When we say mercy, you are talking about, Lord, empty my cup of the judgments I deserve.
[28:45] Why are we talking about mercy? Because of sins. Because of sins. You are not innocent. Anybody who is not innocent deserves judgment.
[28:57] James 2, I think James 2, says that mercy triumphs over judgment. Mercy overcomes judgment. Verse 13. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
[29:08] And so because we are dead in sin, we are slaves to sin, we are condemned in sin, and now we are on a collision course with the holiness of God.
[29:20] What we need is not grace. What we need is mercy. Mercy will empty your cup. Watch this. Mercy empties your cup of the deserved judgment.
[29:31] So it doesn't matter what level you are, you are still a sinner. And everyone have different dimensions of deserved judgment of God that is supposed to come to you. And mercy empties it.
[29:41] And what is grace? Grace bestows undeserved blessing into your cup. So you see, before the undeserved blessing comes in, the deserved judgment must be emptied out.
[29:55] And so mercy comes ahead to spare you from the judgment. Because you are sinful and you are guilty. And because you are guilty, that's why I preach in America, you must always ask God for mercy.
[30:11] Always. But this was beautiful. Bible said, God is. What does that mean?
[30:23] There is no depth of sin. He doesn't have enough equity of mercy. Did you see that? There's no depth.
[30:34] You cannot sink so low into sin that His mercy can't take care of that. Because He has an overflow of mercy. God is rich in mercy. Now, to even show you that you didn't have to contribute anything, it tells you when God did something about our state, the time He did something about our state tells you whether you were involved in helping yourself.
[30:59] He says that but God, who is rich in mercy because of the great love. So first big theological word is mercy. Second one is love.
[31:10] Because of His great love where He loved us. He loved us but He couldn't help us. The only way He can help us is to send mercy first. Because He's holy.
[31:21] He has to punish sin. So it is only God who can deliver us from God. So my illustration is as I was leaving, I got to the part of the road where the railway crosses the road so all the barriers will come down.
[31:38] And then I'm thinking, if somebody runs into this way, the railway, the train will just crash you. So God is like a train coming. And He's coming and we are on a collision course.
[31:51] Nobody can stop this train. And He's coming. You can't put a car there. When you watch the movies, they park a car. And He's coming. He's coming. He's coming. We are in trouble.
[32:02] God is coming. God is coming. And no one can deliver us by only God. So what God does is, God devises a system before He crashes you, He comes and removes you out of His path.
[32:14] God is coming. Amen. It is, that's God the good news. God saved the sinner from Himself.
[32:28] God saved He in His wrath and His holiness. He's about to crash the sinner. But no one, and because He's suffering, no one can deliver the sinner from God except God.
[32:41] So God has to save you. He has to save me from Him. And He did it at the time when I was dead. It's in the Bible.
[32:53] Look at the next verse. He did it at the time when we, even when we were dead. The timing, He didn't tell you, He didn't need your contribution. Yeah, yeah.
[33:07] That's why I told you that you can't do anything about your sin. That's the bad news. And the good news is you don't have to do anything about the situation.
[33:21] God did it all. God did it all. That's why verse 3 changes everything. But God, verse 4, sorry. But God.
[33:32] Everybody say, but God. Somebody shout, but God. But God. But God. He said, when we were dead in our trespasses, that's the time He did it.
[33:45] When we were dead, He made us alive. He made us alive with Christ. He made us alive with Christ.
[33:55] When we were dead in our trespasses, that's the time God did something. God did it. God did it. You remember in the New King James Version, Romans chapter 8, verse 4, verse 3, it says, what the Lord could not do in that it was weak to the flesh, God did.
[34:19] That's the gospel. The flesh is so depraved, tainted, and stained by sin in every aspect, the Lord was catching us.
[34:32] But what the Lord could not do in the flesh in that it was God did. God did. God did. God did. What does the sinner have to do about his sins?
[34:44] Nothing. sin. Ah, so I can continue sinning. You missed it. You missed it. You missed it.
[34:55] That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about your sins in your past, your sins in your life. Are you getting what I'm saying? Your sins in your life is sending you to hell.
[35:06] It's sending you on a collision course with the wrath of God. Listen, the wrath of God is against every sinner. Why hasn't he killed them? He's a God of mercy. He's giving them rope, chance to save, to be saved.
[35:20] He's giving, but when you die, it's finished. The day you die, the book is closed. And unfortunately, you don't know when you'll die.
[35:31] How many of you know some young people who are dead? You don't have to, death doesn't come only to very old people. It comes to people who are in their 40s, people who are in their 30s, people who are in their 20s, people who are in secondary school, people who are in universities, people who have not even gone to school yet, people who are newly born.
[35:55] Death comes to any time and nobody knows when they will die. That means that everybody must be prepared to die. Many people say, I'm young, I'm enjoying my life, I'm enjoying my life, I'm enjoying my life and you think you are sinning because you are playing with sin thinking you are enjoying your life.
[36:21] When you are playing you sin, what you don't know is sin is not playing with you. You are playing with sin and sin is putting you in caps. It's locking your feet, locking your, you are playing with it, you think you are playing but sin is not playing with you.
[36:35] is putting you in chains. I'm young. I'm enjoying my life. Go on. But God.
[36:49] Is somebody learning something? Sadly, this is the kind of, this is what Christian doctrine is about. So, salvation, you have to understand salvation.
[37:02] God is not saving you just from sin, but from himself. And not because he's so wicked, but he's so holy. Your sin has put you in a problem with him.
[37:15] His holiness and righteousness means he has to do something about sin. If he's a judge, the Bible calls him righteous judge. 2 Timothy chapter 4, verse 8. God, the righteous judge.
[37:27] So, he does his right. So, if you're a sinner, why must he say he should go? He can't do that. And because he's so holy, when he sees sin, sin provokes him.
[37:39] It arouses his anger. And we are sinful. That's why my sins, when covered by the blood, God doesn't see it. Because once he sees it, anger will come. He said, when I see the blood, I'll pass over.
[37:54] Yeah. God. God. Is someone learning something? Yes. I'll be finishing soon.
[38:05] Now watch this. God. But, God, who is rich in mercy. Say, God is rich in mercy. God is rich in mercy. So, when you see that riches there, what it depicts is that, as I explained, your volume or your state of wealth will determine what cost you can take on.
[38:26] So, because God is rich in mercy, there's no issue of sin that anybody comes to him with. He doesn't have enough mercy to cover it. So, yeah, I know you are busy condemning somebody you know, but what you might not know is the person that has turned and is praying to God.
[38:46] The person that has gone to God is asking God for mercy. When you ask God for mercy, what he can't do is he can't say no when you ask him for mercy.
[38:57] Because we are human beings. Human beings. Beings. So, what you are now, by the time we close, you are different.
[39:13] Why? Because you have learned something new. Your mindset has been readjusted. Not just that. You have been sweating. Yeah.
[39:24] Those of you who have hair, let it have grown. You keep changing. You keep changing. You keep changing. You keep growing older and older and older and older.
[39:39] You don't do something about your state and say, I'm young. I'm young. You think you're as young as you were yesterday? No. No. But.
[39:52] But. But. No. Let me, let me, let me take you further. Are you interested? By God, who is rich in mercy? By God, who is, because of his great love, wherein he loved us, whilst we were still.
[40:08] by God, but God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love, wherein he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, has quickened us together with Christ.
[40:22] By grace are you saved. And has raised us up together again, and made us to sit together. See that together, together, together.
[40:33] So we were made alive together. We were raised. So when he was ascending, we were. So as soon as you get born again, all, all these have actually been effective in your life.
[40:47] When you get born again, you actually shared in the resurrection life of Christ. We are the Easter people. we, we resurrected with him. We don't just celebrate Easter.
[40:58] We are actually the Easter people. Those who resurrected, we are. We are. So when he was made, being made alive from the dead, we were made alive together with him.
[41:09] When he was being raised, we were raised together with him. And then when he seated at the right hand of majesty, guess what? You and I were also seated together with him.
[41:21] there. I wrote in my notes earlier on that we were children of wrath because we have violated God's holiness.
[41:32] We have disobeyed God's commandments. We have rejected his authority. We have defied his will and we have ignored his warnings. How many of you have ever ignored God's warnings?
[41:44] You know that. So, but God decided to intervene. That's, that's the beauty. So, God was rich in mercy.
[41:54] He intervened. By his own will. He chose to intervene, to deliver us from his, himself. Now, he did this, all this because of his mercy.
[42:11] The second word is love. Look, look at the verse. It says that, this is interesting. I didn't intend to comment on it, but probably, but God, who is rich in mercy for his, for his what?
[42:29] For his love. with which, when he said God loved us, sorry, those of you who are not kind of good with English, grammar, literature, you don't, you just pretend like, yeah, yeah.
[42:48] But when he said, with which he loved us, that word, loved us, is it a noun or a verb? Yeah, that's what I told you. Some of you don't try it.
[42:59] Just, just, yeah. Is it a noun or a verb? It's a verb. So, that love there, God loved us. Okay. But he loved us with something.
[43:12] With what? That love, is it a verb or a noun? It's a noun. He has love, and it's like, it's like, love squared.
[43:24] He used love to love us. He loved us with exciting great love. If he has love for us, that should be okay, but he has this love for us, and he used that love now to be active.
[43:41] Love in action. He puts a love into action by loving us with love. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Because of his great love with which he loved us.
[43:57] Hallelujah. While we were dead in transgressions. To be dead means that, death is separated, a separation. So, we were separated, we are sinners, separated from Holy God.
[44:10] God. And that's why he's doing all these things. Somebody say, God's publicity campaign. God's publicity campaign.
[44:21] And guess who are the campaign objects? You and I. Pastor, can you explain it? Don't worry at all. That's where I'm going. In the verse 6, it says that, he raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
[44:45] Why would God do that? Why would you do that? Because of his great love, his love for us. Yeah, that's the motivation. His mercy was the motivation, not your problems.
[44:58] Divine intervention is not because we are fasting, but because he's merciful. Something motivated God to do something about your problem. And the motivation, what motivated God was his reach in mercy.
[45:14] Because of his great love, he loved us. His mercy had to be, mercy said, God, do something. God, you have to do something. God, you have to do something. So his mercy made him do it.
[45:28] But, that is the motivation. But why did he even have to save us at all? Because we are miserable? No. Because he says that, verse 6 again, he, he raised us up, and he raised us up, made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ.
[45:44] He said, why? He said, you are a sinner. You didn't do anything. Now, he, because of his mercy, made you alive from your sins, raised you up with Christ, sits in heavenly places with Christ.
[45:56] For what? Why? Why would he do that? The Bible tells us why. The next word tells us, so that, tells us.
[46:09] The Bible is not being used about that. So that, he did this, so that, the reason why did, why God did what he did, so that, in the ages to come, ah, he wants to put something on display.
[46:26] It's a publicity campaign. He's about to show something. He wants, he wants to display something. He wants to demonstrate something. He wants to show for something. He said, so that, in the ages to come, he might show.
[46:43] I thought you were going to shout hallelujah. Hallelujah. You are God's publicity program. God's publicity campaign.
[46:55] He wants to display something. Because, the only way he can display, what's he going to display? He might show, the exceeding, riches, of his grace.
[47:11] In his kindness towards, God is kind. Ah, God is kind. God is kind towards us.
[47:22] And, he doesn't want to hide it. And, so, because of his kindness, he's going to use, he's going to, because of his, in demonstrating his kindness towards us, or, because of his kindness towards us, he's going to demonstrate, the, God is rich in something.
[47:41] Mercy. But, when it comes to grace, exceedingly. Yes. And, that's what God wants to display. He said, you want to, you want to see my grace?
[47:54] Hold on. Let me show you my grace. So, there are major three, or four theological major words. Number one, is mercy. Number two, is love.
[48:05] Number three, is grace. Number four, is kindness. Now, watch this. His publicity campaign, is to display, something. And, he cannot display, that thing without, some people.
[48:19] So, God has a lot of things to display. It's when the angels ask him, God, show us, your, sovereignty. He showed them creation.
[48:31] He just, God came, the earth was without form, and by saying, let it be. And there was. So, wow. When the angels, look at creation, they can now see, the sovereignty of God.
[48:43] They said, God, show us your faithfulness. He showed them Israel. Israel, backslide, they kept it, from generation to generation. God has been faithful. Faithful is he who called.
[48:55] God has been faithful. He showed, when they asked God, can you show us your holiness? He showed the commandments. When you see the commandments, you can see how holy God is, and how unholy we are.
[49:06] He showed his commandments. I said, God, can you show us your love? He showed the cross. And when they say, God, can you display, put to probability, your grace, he showed you.
[49:21] And you. Hallelujah. So, all that he did, he is doing this, to use you as a show, of what his grace can do.
[49:36] What his grace can do. What his grace can do. What his grace can do. God is exceeding rich in grace. And Bible says that, so that in the ages to come, he might show, the exceeding riches, of his grace.
[49:50] He wants to display. He wants to demonstrate. He wants to put on exhibition. That's why, when the angels look from heaven, and look at the church, they can see the exhibition, what grace.
[50:06] What grace. What grace. What grace. What grace. So that no man can boast. Then he goes to himself, for by grace are you saved through faith. Not of yourself.
[50:18] It's the gift of God, that no man should boast. Because you didn't contribute nothing. He did it all. So that he can use you, as his publicity program.
[50:39] So when you come to church, and you are serving in church, it's a statement of appreciation, that God, so am I also part? God, what did I deserve?
[50:51] What did I do to deserve this? How can I pay you back? I can't pay you back. So let me serve. Let me serve the people you love. Let me give.
[51:02] Let me forgive somebody. Let me, let me sing. I love you, Lord. For your mercy never failed me.
[51:17] In all my days, I've been held in your hand. From the moment I wake up, till I lay my hand, I will sing.
