Once Darkness, but now Light|Ephesians 5:8-14

[0:15] Ephesians chapter 5, reading from verse 5. For this you know that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man who is an idolater has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

[0:43] Let no man deceive you with vain ways, for because of these things come the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be ye therefore, so be not ye therefore, partakers with them.

[0:58] Right, what does that mean? He said, give us a different translation, NIV please. For of this you can be sure, no immoral, impure, or greedy person, such a man is an idolater, has an inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

[1:19] And he says that, let no man deceive you with empty ways. For because of such things, God's wrath comes on those who are disobedient.

[1:32] So there are some things that trigger the wrath of God. There are some things that trigger the wrath of God. And he said, if you are in Christ, don't let anyone deceive you to think it doesn't matter.

[1:43] It matters. God understands. Yeah, he understands that you won't do well. Some things matters to God. Because he says that, for this reason, the wrath of God comes on those who are disobedient.

[1:58] Now, the verse 7 says that, therefore, do not be partakers with them. In other words, you will see people doing it. But no better. Don't join them.

[2:11] There are some things that people might be doing and say, I love it, I don't care. The Bible says that these things they are doing will bring the wrath of God upon them.

[2:21] And don't join them. If you are a genuine Christian, then there are some people you can't join in their pastures, in what they are pursuing or they are backing on.

[2:38] You can't join some people in some stuff. Why? Because you belong to Christ. Because you belong to Christ, you cannot do some things.

[2:50] You cannot go to some places. Because you belong to Christ, you cannot be accepting of some things.

[3:05] You belong to Christ. How many of you belong to Christ? I am glad. I belong to Jesus. I am glad.

[3:17] I belong to Jesus. I am glad. I belong to Jesus. Hallelujah. Praise the Lord. So take glory, Father.

[3:29] Take glory, Son. Take glory, Holy Spirit. I am all. So, it says that because you belong to Jesus, you cannot be partakers with them.

[3:42] That means some people are already doing it. Some people do it and they are okay with it. The fact that you are okay with it doesn't mean God is okay with it. Because you know better. There are some things you cannot do.

[3:56] Some people will try and encourage you and talk you into compromising. But you must know, no, this is not for me. You can be a great achiever in Christ and in the Lord and in life if you don't know where to place your no's.

[4:15] Sometimes you have to place no, no, no. This is not for me. I know you want to do it, but no, this is not for me. No, this is for me. Well, that's you, but this is not for me. And you cannot bully me or intimidate me and force me into it.

[4:30] When it comes to our genuine relationship with God, no one can force you to sin. Nobody can force anybody. No sin is by force.

[4:41] Every sin is by choice. No sin is by force. No sin is by force.

[4:52] Every sin is by choice. Nobody can force you to do what you know God has told you not to do.

[5:04] Nobody can force you to. They can put you in prison, but they can't make you sin. Do you understand that? It's like somebody who says, in fact, years ago I saw this movie, Titanic.

[5:22] I think it's a romantic story, right? There's a lady inside that likes a certain guy and another rich, some rich man. And she didn't like the rich man.

[5:33] He was using his money and privileges, opportunities. You have to marry me. I don't like you. They can't even force me to marry you, but I don't like you.

[5:45] I don't like. When it comes to like, who you like, no one can force you to like. That's why God never forces a husband to love their wife. He commands the husband to love because that love is not feeling.

[5:59] That love is responsibility. It's like you're in a house with a child that your child hasn't eaten. You can be instructed. Make sure by midday the child has had food to eat.

[6:10] Make sure. I don't care. If you have to go out to McDonald's or KFC or go out to a corner shop or Tesco Espresso to St. Spice Loka or whatever, to go and buy some bread for her.

[6:21] You have to make sure it's done. You can be made to do it. You can be. But if you are dizzy and you can't walk and you are sick, you can't walk.

[6:35] They can make you. Get up. I can't even get up. I can't walk. That one is not in the... You know, you can't make yourself well when you are sick.

[6:45] So, when the Bible commands husbands to love the wife, it's not a feeling issue. It's a responsibility issue. It's not how you feel about it.

[6:57] The Bible is not saying, start feeling so nice about her. No. The Bible is saying that be responsible for the condition she is in. Be responsible for how you treat her.

[7:07] Be responsible for how you relate with her. And so, when it comes to sin, nobody can force her to sin. He says, don't be part of them. Please, if there's something you should remember, remember that God expects you not to be part of something.

[7:24] Hello? Let me put it again. God expects us not to be part of something. Everybody might be doing it, but we can't be part of it. I've put up in my spiritual life throughout all these years not being part of a lot of things.

[7:39] You want to be part of everything and still be part of the move of God. Oh, that's very laughable. It doesn't work like that. To be part of the move of God, you must depart from some other moves.

[7:56] You can't be part of the move of God and still be part of other things. You can't be part of. There are some church groups you can't be part of.

[8:06] Because they keep sharing pornography pictures and links on it. No. It must be offensive to you. You must find it very unacceptable.

[8:17] Listen, because they are insulting you. They believe you are a fake Christian. Yeah. I'm trying to tell you that there are some things you cannot be part of. He said, it's in the scripture.

[8:30] Ephesians chapter 5. Let's look at it, verse 7. He said, therefore, do not be partakers with them. There is a them and there is an us.

[8:41] We and them. Us versus them. He said, there are things that we do within our us. Or, you know, our we. The Bible says that we are at work.

[8:52] We is within us. You is. So, there is a thing that we do in the us. And then there is things that we do. They do in the them. And he said, don't be part of them.

[9:04] That is Christianity. That's your Christianity. It's not about ticking of boxes. About, I don't do this. It's not so much about that. But because of your nature.

[9:15] Who you are in Christ. Some things are not compatible with your convenience. Verse 8 says that, for you were, did you see that?

[9:29] You were once darkness. When I saw this, I thought it would have said you were once in darkness. It said, no, you yourself, you were darkness. You yourself were darkness.

[9:46] Yes. Yeah. You were once darkness. When you move, wherever you get to, light goes.

[10:01] You are darkness. So, you see why it's not wise and spiritual and biblical for a Christian to marry a non-believer?

[10:13] Because that's darkness. But now, you are light. In the Lord. So, you are light. Here is darkness. You are not compatible.

[10:26] How can light and darkness be together? Is this rocket science? It's so common sense. Is it rocket science that you don't understand? Pastor, I mean, the person is a good person. We are not talking about a good person.

[10:38] How many of you know there are some dogs that are very bad dogs? And there are some dogs that are very good dogs. Why don't you marry the dog? A good dog. Because it's a different nature.

[10:51] Human beings can't marry a dog. A dog. You can't marry a dog now. Because why? It's a different nature.

[11:02] You can't have babies with a dog. It's a different nature. Even horse and dog cannot come together.

[11:13] Because it's an unequal yoking. It's imbalanced. It doesn't work. So, 2 Corinthians 6, verse 14. It said, don't be unequally yoked together with unbelievers.

[11:26] It's a different platform. It's a different platform. When people develop apps, to my amazement, they always have an iOS version and an Android version.

[11:41] You go and install the Android version on your iPhone, it will not work. Because two different operating systems.

[11:52] So, it's not about the one who did this app is better than that. No, it's not got to do about niceness and design. It's just got to do with the nature. The way it is configured.

[12:04] It's intrinsic constituent configuration. It doesn't work. It doesn't work. You are trying to install an iOS, an app that is meant for Android on your iPhone.

[12:23] And you are confused. It's not working. It's not working. This app, it's not working. It's not working. That's what some people's marriages are going to be like. Yeah. The fact that it's in church doesn't mean it's in Christ. And I heard the story of a young boy who wanted to be smart.

[12:40] He caught a tiny bird in his hands. And it came today. His uncle said, uncle, I know you are wise. I have a bird in my hands. He saw it.

[12:52] He said, is the bird dead or alive? And his plan was, if the uncle says the bird is dead, he'll kill the bird. He's alive. He'll release the bird. He'll kill the bird.

[13:05] And so he's dead. Uncle, you're wrong, you see. If the uncle says that the bird is dead, he'll release the bird. See, uncle, you don't know everything. You see, I'm testing you.

[13:16] You see, you don't know everything. So he brought the bird. Uncle, is the bird alive or dead? The uncle said, it depends on you. It depends on you.

[13:26] I am saying this again. Sometimes when you are not married, you can be so desperate for who to choose.

[13:37] That you see somebody and you just, this one. When you walk with God and someone walks out of your life, they have done you a favor.

[13:51] When you walk with God and someone walks out of your life, what have they done for you? A favor. Don't forget that. Because godliness with contentment is what they give.

[14:05] Be content in God. Because you'll be sorted. Wow. Sharing some. But you realize that when you marry, you realize, hey. Okay.

[14:18] Most people, you marry and you remember, this is what pastor meant. You realize, hey.

[14:30] This is what pastor meant. Wow. Oh. But sometimes you need counsel. So you don't cancel your opportunities in life. Because some of the heartache is not worth it.

[14:45] Paul said, you should have listened to me. And not to have sinned. And not to have incurred this cause. Or this loss.

[14:56] Yeah. This loss was avoided. This disaster was avoidable. An avoidable disaster. An avoidable disaster.

[15:07] Well, let me go back to my text and then I can finish. Don't be desperate. Don't be desperate. Don't be worried. If you walk with God, God will bring you somebody who lies your shape.

[15:20] Amen. Yes. Yes. You don't have to beat yourself about how you look. It doesn't matter.

[15:33] Just be busy walking with God. I'm telling you. Yesterday I spoke about something. Trust the sovereignty of God. Yes. Trust the sovereignty of God.

[15:43] Be real. And just walk with God. You'll be fine. So, it says that don't be part of them. For you were once darkness. But now, you are light in the Lord.

[15:57] Walk as children. In verse 2, it says, walk in love. Right? Walk in love.

[16:11] Verse 8, walk as children of light. Walk as children of light. You were once darkness. God watched this. This is very important.

[16:24] In Ephesians, Philippians chapter 2, verse 15. Philippians chapter 2, verse 15. It says, that you may become blameless and harmless.

[16:37] Children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and a perverse generation. Amongst whom you shine as lights in the world.

[16:47] Did you see that? That's beautiful. You are amongst them. It's a crooked and a perverted generation. But you are not contaminated by them. You rather shine as lights. Amongst them. Yeah.

[16:58] It says, amongst whom? Among what? The crooked and the perverse generation in the midst. You walk, it says, as children of God without faults in the midst of a crooked and a perverse generation.

[17:15] You know what perversion is? And it says, the generation is a perverted generation. Full of inappropriate tastes. Inappropriate ideals. Inappropriate values.

[17:31] Perverted. The fact that you are educated doesn't mean you are okay. You can be an educated pervert. And those are the ones that are even more dangerous to a society.

[17:42] Because a philosopher and a pervert is a serious one. They can have philosophical reasons to endorse their perversion. They can do a research to endorse and authenticate perversion.

[17:57] Because the heart is perverted. And it says that we walk in a crooked, it's not straight. The generation is not, it's very crooked. It's very crooked.

[18:08] If you grow up amongst a certain demographics, without strong parental authority, you'll be compromised before you are even 16.

[18:23] Some of you, that's your pain. It's not because you have very good material for marriage. Wifely material, husband material, ministry material, political material, business breakthrough material.

[18:37] You're very good. You're good. But you are compromised very. Satan likes children. Yeah.

[18:48] Such Satan likes going after them young. Because what you get, you see, you can destroy a forest by just crushing an apple. Because within an apple has seeds of apple trees.

[19:01] And within that apple, the apple trees whose seeds are in that apple, there are more apples on those apple trees whose seeds are in that apple.

[19:12] And those apples on the apple tree whose seeds are in that apple have more apples in the seeds of the apples of that tree. So what I tell you is a forest But you can crush a whole forest By crushing an apple Why do you waste money And time and effort Trying to destroy a forest Where you can destroy it in an apple Where you can destroy one tree Which is the potential to produce a forest So that's what the devil does Kill them, catch them young Some of us here God purposely sent you here for recovery program Because Satan targeted you To snatch your colorful destiny Away from you very early Because you are compromised And you are exposed to things That are detrimental to greatness Potential prime minister of this country But already have a praising conviction See he's taking it away from you

[20:12] You can't be a prime minister of this country With your kind of police record You have a criminal record You have a criminal record There are people here Who have children With some girl Before you became born again And the children they won't die They are growing As you grow in the Lord They are also growing in life Yeah Life is not straightforward It can be very complicated So some of you Your biggest appreciation Should be to your very stern Strict mother Any little thing She will be screaming She actually helped you When your friends are going Is it called overnight Sleepover When your friends That useless behavior She will let my daughter Go and sleepover God forbid Go and sleepover Do I know the values of that house

[21:13] Do I know the values of that house Do I know what they will be watching Do I know the restrictions They have their parents Some parents are very loose Their 14 year old boy Can bring his friend Girlfriend Into his room And mother knows that But it's fine They are having their friends Useless Irresponsible parenting That has become Very common In our Community So What happens Is not about the parenting Satan is Targeting The future How come Somebody like you You are You are not a virgin Look at how decent you are Look at how godly You have become Can you imagine that If you have met You would have done All this nonsense But they took it away From you So now if god is Looking for a virgin You have already been Disqualified So you see how The devil can compromise people Very early But the point here is

[22:14] Never forget that godliness With contentment What does that mean Even though Your paths Have been compromised The devil couldn't Disqualify you from The godly race So now you are light Stop going forward Looking backwards And remember What has been done To your past And determine That Satan Will never get An upper hand again At least Then You didn't know But now But now But now But now But now You understand What I am talking about Yes But now Many married Women Here If they are going to Choose A husband They will be a little Be careful When they are So sometimes When they love you And they are advising you They will advise you From that experience Many married men here

[23:16] When they are going To advise you And when they are Going to choose A wife Again They might choose The same person But on different conditions They might Mmm I want this person But not in this way If I had known That this was going To be part of the package I would have said No I am just trying To save somebody's future There are things You cannot be part of When you are in Christ Because you are A child of light Now let me finish that text Philippians chapter 2 Verse 15 It says that Amongst whom We shine as lights It said Without fault In the midst of A crooked And a perverse generation Among whom You shine as lights In the world Matthew chapter 4 Chapter 5 Sorry Verse 14 and 16 It says You are the light Of the world You are the light

[24:18] Of the world We can It said We were once Darkness Once Some time ago That means Sometimes Listen It's okay Stop crying over What happened in the past Because you were once Darkness Does that make sense You were once Darkness Stop Okay Let me tell you What Satan likes doing He tried to insert Something in your past To damage your future Before you came to Christ Now you are in Christ And you've discovered I should have finished My course I should have Concentrated on my studies I just follow some boys I just follow some girls I just follow some drugs And look at me And you are so much In pain And bitterness And all that Do you not realize How much you have lost out But you are not dead Your life is still ahead of you Now Satan What he wants to do Is to now Cause you to focus On that disadvantage

[25:20] And make it your focus In your life So instead of looking Ahead Looking unto Jesus You keep looking At your failure Looking unto Jesus The author and the finisher Of our faith Who for the joy That was set before him Endured the cross There is always something Better ahead of you If you are in Christ Did you hear what I just said There is always something Distritable There is always something Better ahead of you If you are in Christ Doesn't matter what has Happened in your past If you are in Christ There is always Your best days Are not behind you If you are in Christ Did you understand If you are in Christ Your best days Are not behind you Your best days Are not behind you Your best days Are not behind you Your best days Are not behind you Your best days Are not behind you Your best days Are not behind you Your best days Are not behind you Your best days Are not behind you That's if you are in Christ But if you are not in Christ

[26:22] I can't say that Actually Your worst days Are ahead of you because it's only the just whose path shines brighter and brighter.

[26:34] You can't say that about the unjust, because naturally everything deteriorates. Then also, everything naturally, everything created, everything deteriorates.

[26:48] So you can see nice, some of the ladies here, your hairs are nice. Now, there are people, when I see them, especially those who have done braids, I see you, I can tell you did it yesterday.

[27:00] So it's important. Everything natural deteriorates, but everything in God gets better and gets better. That's what I'm saying. So the point is, I don't know how bad things have been in your past.

[27:15] You could have been a murderer, a criminal, a thief, a rapist, a liar, a bitter person. Whatever you used to be, that is your darkness.

[27:28] He said, you were darkness, but now. Now has changed the story. Everybody say, but now.

[27:38] But now. If you are in it now, somebody shout, but now. Now. Now. You are not going back to the way you used to be. Amen. You are not going back to the way. So, the good news is, in spite of the mistakes you have made, there are better days ahead.

[27:55] Amen. In Christ Jesus. Amen. In Christ Jesus. Amen. Do me a favor. Can you preach with me? Look at somebody and tell the person, your best days are ahead of you.

[28:07] Your best days are ahead of you. Somebody didn't tell you, look for somebody else. Preach to the person. Your best days are ahead of you. Because the path of the, Proverbs 4, 18.

[28:19] The path of the just is as a shining light that shines brighter and brighter onto a perfect day. If I were you, I would scream hallelujah.

[28:33] Hallelujah. Hallelujah. So, it doesn't matter what has happened in your past. Stop blaming people.

[28:45] You might not see the way out. As long as you are bitter, as long as you are blaming your father's absence. Yeah, I know. Probably, if he had been around the way he should, it wouldn't have been the same.

[28:58] But listen, God can work with whatever you give him. 2 Corinthians chapter 4, verse 5. He commanded light to shine out of darkness.

[29:15] Verse 5 and 6. It said, for God who commanded the light. It said, for it is God who commanded light to shine out of darkness. It didn't say he shone light into darkness.

[29:27] Darkness cannot produce light. But God commanded light to shine out. Light, you are inside there. Everything looks gloom. Everything looks dark. But God can see light in darkness.

[29:42] So, maybe like your life. It looks so dark. Your past has been so dark. You used to be darkness. But the good news is, now you are light. Now you are light.

[29:53] Now you are light. Somebody shout, but now. But now. God commanded light to shine out of darkness.

[30:07] This same God has shone in our hearts. The light of the glorious gospel of Christ. So, one of the things that a wise person who wants to do well in life and God shouldn't do is always lamenting about the past.

[30:25] Please don't do it. Please don't do it. Please don't do it. Young lady. I know you chose the wrong man. I know.

[30:36] I know you did it. You have regretted for the kind of guy you chose to marry. But stop blaming yourself. Stop blaming yourself. Your best days are ahead.

[30:48] Stop blaming yourself. And stop crying over spilt milk. You can't change the past. You can't change the past. So, stop blaming yourself.

[30:59] I don't know. Listen. People will move on with their lives after telling you it's okay. It's okay. They will leave you. Get up before they ask you to get up.

[31:12] Be a symbol of hope for others. People will take a clue from look at what you. They will reference you and say, even look at what she went through.

[31:24] She was able to pick herself up even in the midst of all the darkness because she trusts God. If you're a believer, come on. Come on. Enough of their sorrow.

[31:37] You're a believer. You're a believer. Be an example to others. He said, you shine amongst them. You are like a shining light.

[31:49] A luminous. That's the actual word. Luminous. Philippians chapter 2 verse 15. It says that, above reproach in the midst of a crooked and a pervert generation, amongst whom you appear as light in the world.

[32:06] But luminous, one of the versions is luminous. Luminous is something that absorbs light and shines. So you are not light as per se, but you are able to absorb light.

[32:21] You're able to absorb light and reflect like the moon. So the sun is there. The moon is there and the stars are there. So the moon doesn't have light.

[32:33] But it's luminous. It reflects the brightness of the sun. Jesus is the son of righteousness. So we are just reflectors.

[32:46] We are children of God who is the light. That's why we are like light. If you are not born again, you are a child of the devil. You are in partnership with the devil.

[32:57] That's why you are darkness. But if you are in partnership and a child of God, partnership with God and a child of God, then you are light. That's why I say you are the light of this world.

[33:10] Let me add the verse now and stop. I wish I could. I don't know what I can do to get you to understand this. Stop lamenting about your past. Your future is better.

[33:21] Trust God. Trust God. Work with God. Fear not. Fear not. Some things cannot be your portion. Stop lamenting about you. Stop lamenting about you.

[33:32] Stop lamenting about you. Stop lamenting about you. Stop lamenting about you. Stop lamenting about you. It will never be possible that you will never be married. It cannot be possible, because that will never be your version.

[33:43] It cannot be possible that you will not have children when you are married. It cannot be possible that your child will be sickly. It cannot be possible.

[33:55] Believe you what I am saying, it cannot be possible. Somebody like you, you are probably still steady or something, And sometimes you'll be thinking, oh, so when will I marry?

[34:05] Don't worry. It's settled. You are not one of those who will not get married. When you grow up with some people, you all serve God together and God settles everybody.

[34:18] That tells you how God is always going to settle you. So just in case something has not fallen in place, it doesn't mean it will fall in place. Some of the young girls, when they are entering to puberty, their body changes at different ages.

[34:36] I'm trying to help somebody for this thing to get into your head. When you are in Christ, there are some blessings that are part of your DNA. I become part of your DNA. It's your DNA.

[34:50] Failure is not part of it. Amen! Amen! Is someone learning something? Yes! For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness.

[35:02] Let's start from verse 8. Verse 8 says that for you are sometimes darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light. For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and in truth.

[35:15] So in other words, the results, the fruit of it, it's inside righteousness. It's in all goodness. Everything good.

[35:27] When it's really good. The fruit of the Spirit manifests in those things. Righteousness and the truth. So get busy hanging around the truth, around righteousness, and around goodness.

[35:42] God, the fruit of the Spirit manifests in all things. So don't be part of anything that doesn't share these qualities. Anybody who feels very comfortable about these, the other ones, things that don't share these qualities, is walking in darkness.

[35:58] Because if you really have the Spirit, the fruits are in these things. The fruits of the Spirit of God are in all goodness and righteousness and truth. These are the qualities of the fruits or the evidence of light.

[36:12] Someone who is in light. People who are in darkness, they don't share these values. Hallelujah. Thank you, Jesus. Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

[36:25] So it says, let me pick it again. Verse 8. For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light.

[36:39] Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. Walk as children of light. People will look at you and know what's acceptable of God. In other words also, walk as children of light.

[36:52] And what's acceptable of God naturally flows in you. I don't know what, I'm not sure what I should do. Just stay in the light. I'm not sure how to handle this matter.

[37:04] Just stay in the light. That's why yesterday I just didn't want to be. To some way. But I, my, a lot of my values for good marriage, or solution for good marriage, effective singlehood, is buried in genuine Christian life living.

[37:24] If you're living a genuine Christian life, some things will not be a complication for you. That's how I can preach and tell somebody who feels down, cheer up.

[37:38] If you are really working with God, you can be down for two hours. One day. Two days. By seven weeks, you are still down. Ah.

[37:50] The Nigerian man would say, Do you understand that? When you are working with God, because there is a certain joy that God gives us.

[38:01] There is a certain peace that transcends human understanding that God gives us. It says that the love of God is shed and brought in our hearts by the Holy Spirit.

[38:12] There are things that God gives us. So when you are in the light, some things will fall in place, and you will see the fruit of truth, righteousness, and all goodness. You will see it happening.

[38:25] So, you have, we have to be busy, not trying to take religious books, but busy enjoying Christ and walking in the light. I see that is going to be your testimony.

[38:37] I said, I see that's going to be your testimony. Let me, in fact, I said I was ordering only verse 10, but verse 11 is two minutes. And have no fellowship with them, fruitful work of darkness, but rather, reprove them.

[38:52] Reprove them means expose them. Don't be hiding some stuff. Expose them. Different translation. Expose them. Did you see that? Expose them.

[39:05] First Timothy chapter five, verse 20. Expose them. Those who are sinning, rebuke in the presence of all, that the rest may feel. That's the same word, Greek word, that was translated, reprove and expose.

[39:19] Here, it's used rebuke. Some things must not stay in the dark. It says that verse 10, verse 11, Ephesians 5, 11, don't be part.

[39:30] You remember we spoke about, don't be part of them? Yeah, the same thing has appeared again here. Verse 11. Verse 11 says, have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather, because you are no more darkness.

[39:45] Some things are going on in your life as a Christian. It's not good. Have no fellowship with those kind of things. And expose some of these things. Am I preaching? I'm just talking to you as, if you are not a Christian, you might find this, Ephesians 5, verse 11, not tasty.

[40:07] You might find it. I'm not interested in that. Yeah, I can understand why you are not interested in it. You don't have the life of God. This belongs to those who have the life of God, as children of God.

[40:17] That's why it starts by saying, we are children of light. It starts by saying, we should imitate God as children of verse 1. Imitate God as children of God. So, we, we, it's a, imitate God as children of God.

[40:31] So, he, he's speaking to us as people in Christ. There are some things we can't be expecting of unbelievers. If you start dating unbelievers, expect some things.

[40:43] Don't expect him to be following you to church. We came one, two, three. He just was coming because he's looking for something from you. Once he gets it, you see where his allegiance is.
