Attempting Great Things for God

[0:00] Hallelujah. We thank God you've tuned into this message by David Entry at Caris Church. No hand can help you with the fulfillment of your destiny but the Word of God.

[0:10] May God's hand align you further into your destiny through this Word. Attempting great things for God. How many of us are going to attempt some great things for God?

[0:22] So shall it be. Amen. I want to read from Luke chapter 1. When the revival broke loose or forth in Caris about 11 years ago, this was the scripture that started it.

[0:40] God gave it to us. And I'm so happy. 2026 is a year of great awakening. Luke chapter 1 verse 34, 35, 36, and 37.

[0:53] Luke chapter 1 verse 34. Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be? Seeing I know not a man.

[1:04] And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the highest shall overshadow thee. Therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.

[1:19] And behold thy cousin Elizabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age. And this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.

[1:33] Let's all read verse 37 together. For with God nothing shall be impossible. One more time. For with God nothing shall be impossible. For the last time loudest.

[1:44] For with God nothing shall be impossible. Let's pray. Father, guide my thoughts. Guard my heart. Govern my ways.

[1:55] May the words of my meditation be acceptable to you. As I speak your word prophetically into the lives of your people and into the coming year. Let a sound from heaven come through my voice.

[2:08] And let the iron bars be broken. Let the mountains be moved. Let the valleys be exalted.

[2:20] Let the crooked paths be made straight for your people. That in all things your name and your name alone be glorified. Strap forth your hand as your word is taught.

[2:31] And do what only you can do. Throw your weight about in our lives. Amen. Heal the sick. Deliver captives. Convict sinners. Save the lost.

[2:42] Build the church. Amen. Give revelations of Jesus. Amen. Glorify your name. Amen. In Jesus name. Amen. Amen. Amen. Attempting great things for God.

[2:54] Mary, angel said, you are going to get pregnant. She said, oh no, you're wrong. Then she said, no, you're going to get pregnant. She said, but how can it be? Because I'm a virgin. A virgin can be pregnant.

[3:08] Virgins don't get pregnant. Virgins don't get pregnant. And the angel said, yeah, I know. Yeah, I know. That's why he's saying. He said, no, your case is different.

[3:20] Your case looks impossible. But the Holy Spirit will come upon you. Verse 35. And when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, the power of the highest, the highest.

[3:39] There's no one higher than the highest. The power of the highest shall overshadow you. That means there are some results that are a product of the hand of God.

[3:56] Yes. Not everybody's results is ordinary. Oh, yes. Not everybody's results is ordinary. Some of us, our results are supernatural.

[4:09] The source of our results is not the same source of the others. You cannot deny it.

[4:21] That something is behind it. Listen. The angel told Mary, the Holy Ghost shall come upon you.

[4:31] Somebody lift up your hand and say, the Holy Spirit shall come upon me. Holy Spirit. Say it again. Say, the Holy Spirit shall come upon me. Holy Spirit. Then the angel told her that, listen. Your cousin Elizabeth is in her six months.

[4:48] If anybody's pregnant. Six months is not a big deal. But the issue is that she who was called, said that she who was called barren. Did you hear that?

[5:01] Say, six months. For her who was called barren, she's already six months pregnant. And even close relatives don't know. Cousin, you don't know.

[5:13] Why? The angel says, because with God. The angel said, with God, nothing shall be impossible. With God, nothing shall be impossible.

[5:25] With God. So as we enter 2026. With God. The great things you are about to attempt for God. That's where it's going. The great things that God is about to do in your life.

[5:37] Are going to be a reality. Quickly. Our foundational scripture for the year. Is Isaiah chapter 44.

[5:51] Verse 3. Yes. Isaiah 44. It said, for I God. This God talking. I will pour water on him who is thirsty.

[6:04] If you hear someone shouting. You find him boring. It's your problem. Yes. You are so full.

[6:16] You are so full. So you are not hungry. Oh my God. Bible says that he sends the hungry away full and the full empty.

[6:27] You are so full. You are so full. But when someone is hungry. Sometimes they can't hold themselves together. When you have a test for God.

[6:37] God said you are on the right path. I will pour water. I will pour water. On the thirsty. I God. Will pour water on him who is thirsty.

[6:49] And flowers on the dry ground. I will pour my spirit. I pour. My spirit. God doesn't have a problem supplying us with his spirit.

[7:00] Yes. Yes. I will come to more about the spirit in a moment. But let me just mention five things to do in order to attempt great things for God as we enter the coming year.

[7:18] Number one. Thanksgiving. In Hebrews chapter 12, 28, 29. It talks about we should. Since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken.

[7:33] Let us have grace. Let's all repeat that phrase together. Let us have grace. Let's say it. One more time. So we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken.

[7:45] Let us have grace. Since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken. Let us have grace. Shall we say it again? Let us. Now that same phrase. When you look at the NIV.

[7:57] NIV says. Therefore since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken. Let us. Be thankful. Why is it that one translation says let us have grace.

[8:08] Another translation says let us be thankful. The Greek is one. The translators. Because what was translated as let's have grace. Let's be thankful. Is the same.

[8:19] You can translate thankfulness as having grace. So. I taught you some time ago. In. Um.

[8:29] Spanish. When we say thank you. How do you say it? That's grace you are talking about now. As you are saying thank you. You are embracing grace. Grace. Gracias.

[8:42] Italian. Gracia. Uh. Gracio. What I am trying to say is that let us. The original Greek. Eucharisto. With charis. Eucharisto.

[8:54] So. When it says let's be thankful. It says let's approach God with thankfulness. And as you do that. You are. You are. With grace. So. Thankfulness. Makes grace available.

[9:05] Paul said I am what I am. There is nothing you can attempt to do great for God. Without the grace of God. You cannot do anything great for God. Without the grace of God.

[9:16] Wow. It takes the grace of God. To do something great for God. It is grace. That makes the journey great. Wow. How do you access grace cheaply?

[9:28] Be thankful. Stop complaining. Look. I haven't. The way I have been serving in church. Nothing is happening. Nothing will happen. No. All my friends are getting married. Only me.

[9:39] I don't know why. Only me. But you are not. You've learned the full story. That when they were serving. You were doing boyfriends. You haven't been around long. Take your time. Listen.

[9:49] You are nowhere near. What grace can do for you. Let us stop murmuring and be thankful. Thank God. That. Maybe you didn't even have the job you wanted.

[10:02] But thank God. You are not jobless. There is something that you might not have. But there is something you also have. Be thankful.

[10:13] And it makes grace available for you. So to attempt great things for God. Don't approach life with a sense of entitlement. Approach life with a sense of gratitude.

[10:26] Gratitude. Gracia. Gracia. Always learn to say thank you to God. Gracia. As you are saying gracia. Grace is coming. Grace is coming.

[10:36] Grace is coming. Number two. So number one. Thankfulness. Or thanksgiving. Number two. Vision. Everybody say vision. Vision. Say it again.

[10:47] Vision. What do you see? Jeremiah chapter one verse eleven. Son of man. What do you see? What do you see? What you see is important.

[11:01] What you see is important. So God came to Abraham in Genesis chapter 13 verse 14 and 15. So after Lot has left Abraham. The Lord said after Lot has departed from him.

[11:13] Lift up your eyes now. And look from the place where you are. Northward. Southward. Eastward. And westward. Look at the next verse. For all the land which you see.

[11:28] What you see will determine what God can give to you. Your vision. As we enter the year. You have to be determined.

[11:42] That what God has purpose for me. I can see it. The songwriter. The songwriter says. Over there. Over there. Over there. Over there.

[11:52] Over there. Over there. I can see the promised land. I can see the promised land. Over there. Over there. Over there. Over there.

[12:20] In Hebrews chapter 11 verse 26 and 27 Bible says that Moses forsook Egypt he considered not the reproach of Christ let's go verse 27 Hebrews chapter 11 verse 27, by faith he forsook Egypt not fearing the wrath of the king for he endured as sin he saw something so what he was going through couldn't stop him what do I mean?

[12:54] you are a student start seeing your passes if what you see is failure you will fail listen see yourself in your wedding you know he won 20 bridesmaids see it see it see yourself in your new home self-pastarding and growing in church see yourself see yourself with souls following you to church see yourself with souls following you to church see it see it oh one of the things that I always desire and I just love to see I always see it for faithful brothers and sisters who are, particularly sisters who are serving faithfully in church I just see one day

[13:55] I will see you coming from church you and your husband and your three children and you are working together oh I thought I was preaching about somebody I thought I was preaching about somebody souls are living souls are living souls are living Shout yes!

[14:17] Sit! How do you sit? Sit based on what God is telling you. Sir, I wasn't faking when I studied. I saw cancer leaving somebody.

[14:30] So anytime God wants to do something, He has a way of showing it first. When God speaks, He speaks in pictures. He said, I'll stand upon my rampant and watch to see what He will say.

[14:45] He's going to say, but when He say, we see. Habakkuk chapter 2 verse 1. He said, I'll stand upon my rampant and see to see what He will say.

[14:58] To see what He will say. Because when He says, when He speaks, He speaks in pictures. So someone can see. Can see. Can see. So anytime you are praying, anytime you are getting close to God, See what God is showing you.

[15:14] In Revelation chapter 1, He said, I heard a voice behind me. And when I turned, I saw. See what God is showing you. Listen, if you, Bible said, without vision my people will perish.

[15:28] You need to see what God, the future. See that future. You are not going to be hospitalized. Don't be seeing those things.

[15:39] Don't be seeing those things. Because that's not your portion. Attempt great things for God. See yourself starting a huge Christian business. A Christian business that will be doing so well, but it don't open on Sundays.

[15:58] See yourself receiving a national award on BBC and you are saying that, you are saying, this is Jesus. This is the doing of the Lord.

[16:10] Hallelujah! What are you seeing, son of man? What do you see, son of man? What do you see? Don't attempt to take a future you haven't seen.

[16:24] See it. Number three, quickly. Number one, thanksgiving. Number two, vision. Number three, faith.

[16:36] Faith. Faith. Hebrew chapter 11 verse 2 says that, by faith the elders obtained a good report.

[16:47] You want good report? No, the only way it works is by faith. Faith. Believe God. When we talk about faith, watch this.

[17:00] We are talking about trust God to the end. Trust Him. Trust Him. In Proverbs chapter 3 verse 5 and 6, it said, trust in the Lord with all your mind.

[17:14] Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on to your own understanding, but in all your ways, acknowledge Him and He will guide your path. Trust in the Lord.

[17:26] The psalmist said, whenever I'm afraid, I will trust in you. The Bible says that, as for God, His way is perfect. Psalm 18 verse 30.

[17:37] The word of the Lord is right. And He is a buckler to all who trust in Him. If you can trust God, you are safe. Hallelujah. Your safety is not in your medical access.

[17:51] It's not even in your insurance. Your safety, my safety is not in the bank account. My safety is in my trust in God. Jesus posted this way.

[18:02] Mark chapter 11 verse 22. Have faith in God. Shall we all say that together? Have faith in God. Can you preach with me? Look at somebody. Tell the person, have faith in God.

[18:14] Have faith in God. Have faith in God. By faith, they obtained a good report. Hebrews 11 verse 6 says, without faith, God can't smile on you.

[18:26] The only way you can secure God's smile, God's pleasure over your life, is by trusting Him. That's right. By taking steps of faith. Listen. In 1 Timothy chapter 6 verse 12, he said, fight.

[18:40] The good fight. Oh boy. Oh, shagana. He said, fight. Watch this. Fight the good fight of faith. And you are not just fighting the good fight of faith. You fight the good fight of faith and lay hold on eternal life.

[18:54] You are fighting to lay hold on something which source is beyond the natural. Fight the good fight of faith. Lay hold on eternal life. Fight the good fight. Lay hold on eternal life.

[19:06] Fight. It's a fight of faith. Fight to stay in faith. Where's your faith? Why are you so fearful? I'm announcing to you. 2026 will be one of the finest years for you.

[19:19] When you hear news you don't want, say that no, this is not for me. Say it's wrong address. It's wrong address. It's wrong address. It's wrong address. You know when you receive a letter that is not yours, return to a wrong address.

[19:33] Yes, yes, yes, yes. Any news that you have not seen is not in line with what God has showed you in your spirit. When that negative news attempts to come, RTS, return to sender.

[19:50] I am not, when the doctors give you bad news, I am not receiving this. They said, you've got a terminal disease. Well done for talking. At least you've been trained to do this. But I'm telling you, you will do another test and find out that you are wrong.

[20:12] I'm pointing out that you are wrong with what God has said. I'm pointing out that you are wrong with what God has said. I'm pointing out that you are wrong with what God has said. [20:35] He said one of the greatest things God did for him is by getting him relocated. So he changed his exposure. He's changed his company. Many of us, when you are told your company is your downfall, you don't realize it. Even in church, some people you don't have to associate with them in church. In church. There are some people, if you befriend them, you will sync with them. Your faith is weakened by who you keep listening to.

[21:09] Whose advice you've been listening to? Who your friends are? Faith. So you have to fight, right? So number one is what? Number two? Number three? Number four?

[21:24] You would like number four? Work. Work. Bishop Oedipo said, if you don't work, you don't have worth. Don't. See? God will bless me anyhow. No, God doesn't bless anyhow. In James chapter one, verse 25, the Bible says that, seeth a man who looks diligently into the law, perfect law of liberty. The same not being a forgetful error, and continued therein. Him not, him being not a forgetful error, but doer of what? The what? So when you look at God's word, you find work. When you look inside God's word, what you see is work, work, work, work. And you have to do the work to get the blessing. He said, the same will be blessed in all his deeds. Deeds.

[22:21] Deeds. Deeds. He saw the work and is blessed in his deeds. Doer of the work. In 1 Corinthians chapter 15, verse 10, Paul said, I am what I am by the grace of God. Never delights. That's the word.

[22:36] It has appeared again. I labored more abundant. I have greater results than all of them. However, my results are because of my grace is not in vain. You can invalidate grace if you don't work hard.

[22:54] No, no church grows above the work, hard work of the pastor. No organization grows above the work. of the leader. Footballers, the best ones work so hard. The athletes, the best athletes work harder than the worst ones.

[23:18] If you want to do great things for God, roll up your sleeves. Get ready for work. If you sleep all night, you will fail all day.

[23:34] The reason why people fail exam is because of sleep. [24:12] In 2 Corinthians chapter 11 from verse 23, he said, in laboring often. He said, Paul said, listen, I labor. He said, are there ministers of Christ?

[24:23] I speak as a fool. I am more. In labors, more abundant. Paul, look at his achievement. Not knowing, there's a lot of work behind it.

[24:35] What I try to say, 2026, is be ready to work harder. Sleep less. Don't say, I need my eight hours sleep. You are not a baby. If you want to be a successful person, never let a statement like this come out of your mouth.

[24:52] Ask for me, I like my sleep, but work. You don't have any business failing your exam. Wait, wait, wait. Especially, if you live with your parents and you don't work.

[25:06] It's true. You don't work and you are failing exam. You are not paying bills. You are not paying bills. You don't go to work. All you are supposed to do is a little home chores and then your books.

[25:18] You are spending most of your time. Your phone has become the enemy of your destiny. Your phone. Your phone. I'm talking to some young girl, some young man. Your phone has become the enemy of your...

[25:28] Put it aside and work. You want to do great things for God? Attempt to work. Attempt to do great things. Work. You want to attempt to do great things for God?

[25:41] The last point, which is my main point. The Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit.

[25:53] Judges chapter 3 verse 10. Judges chapter 6 verse 34. Judges chapter 14 verse 6.

[26:05] Judges chapter 14 verse 19. Judges chapter 15. Judges chapter 15 verse. In fact, I prefer the first Samuel chapter 10 verse 6.

[26:19] It says that and you will meet some people prophesying and the Spirit of the Lord will come upon you and you will prophesy with them and be turned. It is the Spirit that came upon him that turned him to something else.

[26:33] Bible says in the first Samuel chapter 16 verse 13 and they poured the anointing oil on David and the Spirit of God came upon him from that day forward. They anointed him in the midst and the Spirit of the Lord came upon him on David.

[26:51] That's why we have we still read about David because the Spirit came upon him. Judges chapter 14 verse 6. The Spirit came upon something and he caught a lion and tore the lion like a goat.

[27:07] It was a Spirit. People achieve great things for God by the Spirit. By the Spirit. That is why the angel told Mary the Holy Spirit shall come upon you.

[27:19] You want to achieve some great things for God? Please expose yourself to the Holy Spirit. If you want the Holy Spirit to come upon you you want to receive the Holy Spirit these are some of the things you should do.

[27:30] Number one, prayer. The Holy Spirit has an attraction to prayer for people. As you pray. It doesn't have to be very complicated. You have to have pray the Holy Spirit what you want to do in my life do it.

[27:45] Number two, have a hunger. I will pour my spirit upon him that is thirsty. Thirsty. In John chapter 7 verse 37 on the last day of the feast he says to with a loud voice that if any man ters if any man ters if any man ters if any man ters the blessing is at the point of your ters.

[28:11] When it comes to the Holy Spirit you have to desire the Holy Spirit. I want you Lord I want you Holy Spirit I want you Holy Spirit I want you Holy Spirit I want you Holy Spirit It's not for sure manship It's not for sure manship but for divine accomplishment. Listen, you want to attempt great things for God in 2026? No, it must be by the Holy Spirit. That's what the angel told Mary. Mary said, how can it be? He said, don't worry, the Holy Ghost shall come upon you and the power of the highest shall overshadow you. In Acts chapter 1 verse 8, Jesus said, you shall receive power after the Holy Ghost has come upon you and shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem, in Judea, in Samaria, and to the uttermost parts of the world. We saw in Joel chapter 2 verse 28, he said, it shall come to pass afterwards that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh. God loved to pour his spirit. So the year we are entering, the foundational text is Isaiah 44 verse 3. I will pour water on him that is thirsty, floods on the dry ground, and I'll pour my spirit upon your seed. God is a God who likes to pour his spirit. Pour in his spirit. So you must desire. In fact, in the book of Luke chapter 11, this is how Jesus puts it. When he says, ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and you shall. And Jesus continues to say from verse 11,

[29:39] Luke chapter 11 from verse 11, he said, which of you fathers, being a father, your child asks for bread, you give him a stone. Ask for fish, you give him a snake. Ask for egg, you give him a scorpion.

[29:51] Then the verse 13 says that if you, he says, if you being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly father give the Holy Spirit to not everybody, only to those who ask. Ask. Ask. When you ask the Holy Spirit, God will give you his Holy Spirit. If you want the Holy Spirit, ask God. Ask God. So number one, pray. Number two, desire. Desire. You must have a desire. You must have a thirst for the Spirit. Number three, the word of God. The word, the Bible says, and the Spirit entered me, when he spoke to me. The word of God is the fastest means for the Spirit of God to enter somebody's life. Because the Bible says that all scripture, 2 Timothy chapter 3 verse 16, was given by what? The inspiration. Another way, the breath of God. God breathed out. The breath of God. Another term for the breath of God is the Spirit of God. So in John chapter 20, when Jesus was resurrected from the dead, in the verse 19, when he met them, Bible says, he breathed on them and he said, receive the

[31:08] Holy Spirit or receive the Spirit. So the breath of God is the Spirit of God. When God formed man in Genesis chapter 2, Bible said, and he breathed into man's nostril, the breath of life. The breath of God is his Spirit. And all scripture was given by the, the of God. So when you go to the word of God and you, you are imbibing the Spirit, you are receiving the Spirit. So two ways of receiving the Spirit, skip your focus on the word of God. And number two, listen to the pre, sound preaching. Did you hear the testimonies? They said, one of the guys is already talking about sound doctrine. So when I heard that sound doctrine, Pastor David is teaching, someone who is not familiar with church, after being in church, six months, he knows that there's a difference between sound doctrine and demonic doctrine. Listen to this. Three things about some preachers. There's some preachers you can listen to. There are some preachers you shouldn't listen to. And there are some preachers you have to listen to. There are some preachers, it's a mass, you have to listen. Depending on where God is taking you, you have to listen. Other preachers, me, I will never listen to them. Especially a preacher who believes that he has the, God has called him to correct other preachers. There's no calling to correct preachers. So the word of God is equal to, the Spirit entered into me when he spoke to me. Bible says in

[32:37] Acts, you like this, I know you like this text. In Acts chapter 10, you know what's coming now? You know what's coming now? In Acts chapter 10, verse 44. Oh, whilst Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Spirit spake upon all those who are listening to him. The Holy Spirit works with the word of God. You want the Holy Spirit? Listen, brothers and sisters, one of the channels of the anointing of my life is I'm always listening to anointing preaching. And I'm always reading my Bible. Now sometimes by the time I'm going to bed, if my wife has gone to bed early, by the time I'm going to bed, that's on her phone, Bible is playing.

[33:15] If so, I don't turn on my own because I own it. So you wake up to sweet melodies, Bible playing, Bible playing, Bible playing, Bible playing. Keep the word of God coming in. Keep the word of God.

[33:27] It's, it's, it's, it's the platform that tracks for the flow of the Holy Spirit into your life. Is somebody receiving something at all? So to receive the Holy Spirit prayer, number two, desire, number three, the word, number four, consecration. Not concentration. Consecration. I know you don't want to hear consecration. What's consecration? Clean. Be clean. Be clean. You can't do everything and have, listen. He's the Holy Spirit. Holy. Not only Spirit. Holy. Holy Spirit means he's very pure.

[34:11] Permit me to say it this way. God has not got bad breath. He's the breath of God. How come things stink around your behavior? Stinks. No, that's not the breath of God. God has not got bad breath.

[34:28] You cannot be, be, live in sin. The reason why you are not able to attempt and accomplish great things for God, it is because of the things, the things you are harboring. That is consecration.

[34:45] Yeah. Consecration. Purity. Purity. Purity. Purity. Purity. Purity. Purity. Cry to God. Instead of crying to God for breakthrough, cry to God to deliver you from what is breaking you down.

[35:04] You are praying for breakthrough, but you are breaking down. Breakthrough. Let me break through. And you are breaking down. Let me break through. And you are breaking down. There's something, listen, if you keep filling your bucket with water and the bucket is, the water is always getting finished. Do you still ask for more water? What do you do? Look for, lift the bucket. Look, what is, what is under this bucket that is causing me this problem? Listen, I see 2026 will be your final season. If you want the Holy Spirit to dwell around your life, consecration. Consecration.

[35:39] Consecration. Some of us, you are singing, but it's not working. It's not working. You have a nice voice, but not a nice, a decent spirit. The last point on the Holy Spirit. Time. If you don't have time for God, God doesn't have time for you. Time. You want the Holy Spirit, spend time. Sometimes it's so nice.

[36:12] You wake up in the morning, you switch off everything. You want to spend some one hour, two hours, depending on the schedule of your day. In the week, have a schedule in the week that at least one day, I'm going to just spend just time with God for one hour before every other thing and make it your custom. Have time for God. It's called devotion. Devotion. You are devoted to God.
