In an era of cultural shifts, David Antwi calls for a return to the intensity and purity of Christ’s message. This sermon explains why the gospel remains the only true source of salvation and how its 'eternal weight of glory' can transform your perspective on hardship and purpose.
inspirational and direct
[0:00] Hallelujah! We thank God you've tuned into this message by David Entry at Karis Church. No hand can help you with the fulfillment of your destiny but the Word of God.
[0:11] May God's hand align you further into your destiny through this word. Somebody say the glorious gospel. Glorious gospel. Please say it again. Glorious gospel.
[0:23] Two places in the New Testament where this phrase occurs. The first one, one of them is 1 Timothy chapter 1 verse 11.
[0:34] And I actually like the 1 Timothy chapter 1 verse 11 bit because he adds something extra. He says that according to the glorious gospel, then he says the blessed God.
[0:47] Ah! Ephesians chapter 1 verse 3, blessed be God. 1 Peter chapter 1 verse 3, blessed be God. He said according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God.
[1:02] God be blessed forever. He said according to the glory. So you see this phrase is from the Bible. The other time I was teaching and I said that it is not enough for a pastor to be a caretaker of souls.
[1:18] Or a caregiver. We give care. We make sure your soul is fine. Like Acts chapter 4 verse 22, they were strengthening the souls of the disciples.
[1:30] So we take care of souls. We give care to souls. But it is not enough for an effective and a good pastor to be a caregiver for souls.
[1:42] He must also be a caretaker of wares. Wares. There are some wares that are getting lost. We have to rescue them. There are some wares that are being hijacked.
[1:53] We have to rescue them. There are some wares that are being eclipsed. We have to reveal them. Bring them into the limelight of Christianity. Because if some wares are allowed to get missing, our gospel will be diluted.
[2:06] There are some wares that they don't change. That's my little challenge when it comes to some of the translations.
[2:17] Because some of the translations help to misplace or to get those wares lost. Words like justification. Words like propitiation.
[2:29] Words like redemption. Words like forgiveness. Words like atonement. Words like reconciliation. Words like righteousness.
[2:41] And the big one, the gospel. The gospel. These words must always be part of our conversations.
[2:53] Because they form the bedrock of the meaning of what we have come into. Very important. Words like mercy.
[3:04] Words like grace. Words like truth. These words must be part of the vocabulary of the church. Words like sacrifice. Words like service.
[3:16] Serving one another. Words like love. Words like hope. Words like joy. Words like peace. These words must be part of our conversations as Christians.
[3:29] Because these are biblical words. These are biblical words. That help to convey a biblical message. Or better still, help to reveal the mystery of godliness.
[3:43] Words. So, we see that it appears here. The glorious gospel of the blessed God. But this morning. It just seems like it's a coincidence.
[3:55] coincidence in every day for the past 10 years or more every day in charis we read a chapter also sometimes you look at the chapter and it's just 10 verses so that's so nice so most of us when we're about to read we look at where it's finishing first so that you cannot pause your time but today today's reading i'm thinking that it's like god has designed this camp already because today's reading has everything to do with the message of today's camp today's reading verse 4 2nd corinthians chapter 4 verse 4 it says that in whom the god of this world has blinded the minds of them which believe not less did you see it less that glorious gospel of christ my goodness less that glorious gospel of that's what we are talking about today and yesterday as i read second corinthians chapter 3 i saw some things that were popping up and they begin to reshape the message of today for me because i saw things i haven't seen in the past i've read it over and over and over and over but this time i saw some things that i didn't realize in the light of the glorious gospel and then today chapter 4 i read and i bump into that phrase the glorious gospel of christ these are the only two places it appears in the first one is glorious gospel of the blessed god but today's theme is buried is today's reading now it wasn't because i knew that that's the reading for the day i didn't know there are times how many of you are forgotten what are we reading today there are times i forget yesterday when i was about to read i was which where are we is it three or four because then i remember no the day before i read chapter 2 19 19 19 yeah you begin to calculate and what are we reading so yesterday i almost got confused after which text so it's not like i know what we are reading ahead of time but is it not interesting that what we are reading today feeds into what god has got to tell us today if i were you i would shout hallelujah so the glorious gospel of christ let's all say that together please say it again when we talk about the gospel paul said as i read a leon i'm not ashamed of the gospel of christ that means that there are times you will be unpopular trying to talk about the gospel now if paul said it in his days then you can imagine in our days this is time is is worse where people are attacked because of the message of christ in their mouth and paul said i am i'm not ashamed because to the jews is a stumbling block to the greeks is foolishness but to those of us who are called first corinthians chapter 1 verse 23 but to those of us who are called but to them which are called both jews and greek christ the power of god and the wisdom of god he says verse 18 he says that that for the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness so now watch this you are preaching the message to people who are not interested because what they are interested in is not what you are saying and yet you cannot change what you are saying because it's not your message the church cannot change our message whether it fits into the
[7:59] narrative of the day whether it's used the political climate whether it's used the social climate or not we can't change our message because the message is not for us in romans chapter 1 verse 1 it's a a poor a servant of jesus called to be an apostle separated unto what who's gospel who's gospel god owns the copyright it's god's gospel is the gospel of god it's not the it's his intellectual property it's not my gospel it's not our gospel when paul says my gospel he was trying to say i've personalized god's gospel now there's nothing to me but the gospel of god so it has become my gospel but my gospel is the gospel of god and it tells us very clearly what the gospel is about in the verse 2 he said the gospel is concerning which is promised before in verse 3 concerning his son jesus our lord so the gospel is about a person the gospel is about a person that's what makes the church the church is the content of the gospel we preach listen i've been saying this and i'll continue to say it you cannot be saved believing the wrong gospel no one ever gets saved believing the wrong gospel king agrippa believe it doubt the prophets because i know you do i know you do in act chapter 24 verse 14 does that but i confess unto thee that after the way in which they call heresy so worship i the god of my fathers believing all things which are written in the law and the prophets i believe it and watch this when you look at the law and the prophet what you may we may call the old testament it is actually about the gospel the law is about the gospel now i'm preaching the law is about the gospel of grace the law that was given to moses it was pointing to something bigger than moses it was something pointing to something bigger than the law bible says that the righteousness of god is revealed being witnessed which i remember chapter 3 verse 21 but the righteousness of god outside of the law without the law is manifested being witnessed by the law and the prophet you see that so the law and the prophets were giving testimony to the gospel to the righteousness of god the gospel the gospel the gospel the gospel that's why he said to timothy preach the word that means preach the gospel so now when we talk about the gospel what what what we mean we are talking about the message concerning jesus christ his person his nature his works the person of jesus the nature of jesus his works so anything that falls short of revealing the person of jesus the person of jesus the person of jesus the person of jesus the person of jesus the works of jesus falls short of the true gospel when god put the message on my heart for today the agenda of this message is to stir a fire in somebody's heart to be bold to declare the gospel anywhere you find yourself christianity doesn't do well when it's mixed with other things as christians as christians as christians as christians as christians as christians
[12:16] as christians as christians as christians as christians as christians as christians as christians as christians as christians as christians as christians as christians as christians as christians with politics, what you'll be left with is politics. When you mix Christianity with religion, what you'll be left with is religion. And Christianity doesn't do well as a religion. Other religions will do well. When you make Christianity just a religion without the gospel, Christianity will not do well. Because when Christianity just becomes just a religion, it loses its impact.
[12:32] But look, look, look, brothers and sisters, when Jesus died and resurrected and the church was born, they didn't have a building. They didn't have institution. They didn't have any kind of establishment.
[12:45] They didn't have church buildings. They were actually even worshiping in the temples. They were still going to the temples. So Acts chapter 3 talks about how at the time of prayer, Peter and John, Acts chapter 3 from verse 1, were going into the temple at the time of prayer.
[13:00] They were still temple attendants. And yet, Jesus, the New Testament believers, in Acts chapter 2, verse 46, 47, talks about how they continued daily in the temple and in houses.
[13:16] So they were still using the temple because they didn't have a place of their own. In Acts chapter 4, they went into the synagogue and they preached. In Acts chapter 13, when Paul and Silas were sent away and they went for the first missionary journey, they went into the synagogues and they preached.
[13:34] They would always go to the synagogue because they didn't have anything. And yet, it was their message that was doing their job. So then, if you take away their message, Christianity begins to collapse.
[13:48] We cannot stop the preaching of the glorious gospel in spite of who likes it or who doesn't like it. In spite, even if it doesn't have a public opinion, it's against the gospel.
[14:05] We don't have a choice. We only preach the gospel because therein, the righteousness of God is revealed. So he said, I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ.
[14:16] I'm not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. Why? Number one, it is the power of God unto salvation.
[14:27] Someone say power. Power. The fallen world, what they can't stand, is the gospel. Have you thought about this? Haven't you realized that wherever there is persecution against Christianity, the main problem of the persecution is our preaching, is our message.
[14:47] It's our message. So in the early church, they warned them, don't preach this. Acts chapter 5 verse 28. Did we not strictly warn you not to preach in?
[15:01] They were worried about that name. Preaching in that name. Preaching the gospel will introduce their name into the hearts and the lives of people. Preaching the gospel.
[15:13] You don't need to be a theologian. You just need to be someone whose heart has been captured by Christ. Someone who God has shown the light of the glorious gospel into your heart.
[15:27] Hallelujah. That's all it takes. That's all it takes. That's all it takes. We preach the gospel. Philip went down to Samaria and preached Christ.
[15:42] Preached Christ. You will understand why it's a glorious gospel in a minute. It's a glorious gospel. They don't like it by Christ's glory. It's a glorious gospel.
[15:54] It is not UK people who are funny. It's the fallen world. So whether you go to Saudi Arabia, you go to Nigeria, you go to Ghana, you go to Jamaica, you go to America, the gospel is never welcome in the heart of fallen people.
[16:15] So it's just like that. It's everywhere. So that's why Paul told Timothy, 2 Timothy chapter 1 verse 8, that don't be ashamed of the testimony.
[16:28] Be not therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord. In the gospel, we testify about Jesus. We testify. It's declaring the testimony of God.
[16:40] Holy Ghost is testifying with us and God himself gives testimony to the word of his grace. So if you are not careful, society will intimidate you.
[16:55] Pastor, when I was in secondary school and I got born again, we were radically preaching the radical gospel that has radically changed our lives. Everywhere.
[17:06] And you know sometimes when you are among peers who are very proud and they mock Christians. In those days, most Christians were timid. They are just quiet people.
[17:18] They don't want trouble. They live their normal life. We went to their own believers. We went with their glorious gospel because this thing is too sweet. I have tasted and seen.
[17:29] Oh, come on. We were preaching everywhere. Do you know why we were so bold? Because we knew the gospel was glorious. In the same way, when you know the gospel is glorious, when you know the gospel is glorious, when you know the gospel is glorious, you are not ashamed.
[17:50] You are not ashamed. But you are bold about the gospel. It's a glorious gospel. It's a sweet gospel.
[18:01] It's an amazing gospel. You see, verse 3 of today's reading, if our gospel is veiled, King James says, hit.
[18:13] NIV, New International Version, New American Standard Version, English Standard Version, even Amplified, a New King James Version says, uses the word veiled.
[18:24] Because, it's so veiled to them. They don't know, why are you so excited about this thing? You post something about Jesus online, and they are wondering, what's, this guy is gone.
[18:38] What's wrong with you? What's wrong with you? You preach about Jesus Christ, they actually don't like you. They just don't like you. Because, the, the, the message of Christ, offends their spirit.
[18:54] It's offensive to them. It's a clear sign to you, the preacher, that this person is perishing. Because, it's that to those who are perishing, it is foolishness.
[19:05] So, one of the ways to know, someone who is on his way to hell, is their attitude towards the gospel. I mean, it's self-revealing. As you preach, you will see those who are going to hell.
[19:16] Because, the gospel forces you into a corner. The true gospel, the pure gospel, is to push you into a corner, to be left without an option, but to choose, either Jesus is God, or you reject it.
[19:36] There's no middle ground. When the true gospel is preached, there's no middle ground. You are either better off, or worse off, after you hear the true gospel.
[19:48] So, in Acts chapter 14, Bible says that, they went to Lystra, and they preached the gospel, and the whole city was divided. Yeah, yeah. The city was divided.
[19:59] Why? Bible says, some took to the side of the apostles, and others, it says that, and it came to pass in Iconium, that they went both together, into the synagogues of the Jews, and so spoke, that a great multitude, both of Jews, and also of, but the unbelieving Jews, set up the Gentiles, and made their minds, evil affected, against the brethren.
[20:20] Verse 3, long time therefore, are both they speaking boldly, say boldly. Boldly. We'll come to that. Say boldly. Boldly. Speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony, unto the word of his grace, and granted signs, and wonders to be done.
[20:32] Verse 4, but the multitude of the city, was divided. Why? Why? Because of the gospel. Football will unite them, but the gospel will divide them.
[20:45] The gospel will divide them. Pastors, our job is not to preach, about football. Our job, is not to preach, on current affairs. Our job, is to preach, the word.
[20:58] Preach the word. Verse 2. 2 Timothy chapter 4, it says that, preach the word. Someone say, preach the word. Preach the word. I didn't hear you. Preach the word.
[21:09] I thought you would say it louder. Preach the word. Someone who is confident, about the glorious God, who shall preach the word. Preach the word. That's one of the reasons, why I like that song.
[21:19] It's not because, of the rhythm. We'll spread the gospel, we'll bring the, never, no, no. Even when you take the lyrics, the song is just nice, the instrumentation. But that's not why, I like that song.
[21:31] I like that song, because it says that, we will, we will, we will, we will shape the culture. We will shape the culture. We will preach the gospel. We will heal the sick. And what I like most about that song, it said, so we hear, we're done.
[21:44] So that means, oh, while you are doing this, your mind is somewhere. Your mind is on the reward. Your mind is on the coming of Christ. Your mind is on 2 Corinthians, chapter 5, verse 10.
[21:55] We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ. As you are preaching the gospel, your mind is on the coming. Your mind is on Revelation, chapter 22, verse 12.
[22:06] Behold, I come. My reward is with me. Hey, somebody shall preach the word. The best time to preach the word is when you're young.
[22:20] Yeah. Don't wait till you're old. Remember now you're a creator in the days of your youth. Before the evil days come, because evil days are coming.
[22:32] When you will not have enough strength. When your children are too many. When childcare is a problem. When bills are high. When your bones are worrying.
[22:47] When you have to replace your hip. That's not the time. So you got to preach the. Well, listen, it doesn't matter. You can be a student.
[22:58] You can be a worker. As long as you are born again, you are young. This is the best time to preach the word. Don't say, I'm a student because students, my focus is studies.
[23:10] They have time for video games. They have time for nightclub. They have time for online streaming. They have time for going on social media and spending so much time.
[23:21] They have time for organ. Use your time to get closer to Christ and preach their gospel. Preach the gospel. He said, I am not ashamed.
[23:33] From today, I want to leave you with one thing. You leave this camp with a certain level, fresh level of boldness and confidence about the gospel.
[23:48] You feel so confident about the gospel. You might not have the money. You might not have all the money. You might not have all the fame, all the links, all the contacts and everything.
[24:00] But there's one thing they can't take away from you. You have the gospel and the glorious gospel of Christ. You have to preach it. You have to hold it dear. You have to be bold about it.
[24:11] You don't have to be ashamed of the gospel of Christ. Shout, preach the gospel. Preach the gospel. Preach the gospel. Preach the gospel. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ.
[24:26] Four. Let me tell you four things the gospel is. Number one. The gospel is the power of God. Genesis chapter one, verse one.
[24:38] In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth and the earth was without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep and the spirit of God moved upon the face.
[24:49] And verse three says, God said, let there be light. And there was light. That's power at play. The commanded light to shine. He commanded light shine.
[25:02] That's power. Creation is a reflection, a depiction, a display, a manifestation of the power of God. And from the time God said, let there be and commanded the sun to stand, the sun hasn't moved.
[25:19] The earth for generations and years, the earth goes around the same way. You, you, try and spin for just one minute and see whether you stay on the same.
[25:32] You'll be somewhere else. But because God spoke a word, even though that, guess what, the earth is spinning, but it's not on one, it's spinning and moving around at the same equal distance from the sun for thousands of years.
[25:47] It's still spinning. It's still spinning. It's still spinning. And it's not moving out of control. It's not moving out of proximity at its range. How? Because that's the power of God.
[25:59] God, who sustains all things by the word of his power. He spoke the world into being and it was. He spoke the sea. He said, this is how far you can come.
[26:12] He gave the sea its boundaries and he gave it according to Acts chapter 17 26. He has made of one blood all nations of men to dwell on the face of the earth and has determined their times before appointed and the bounds of their habitation.
[26:28] It is not immigration favor. That shows where you live. I know you didn't hear that. It's your assignment in God.
[26:44] You didn't get it. Immigration laws cannot determine where you live because God has already determined the boundaries.
[26:58] You didn't get it. I know you didn't get it. Immigration laws are made rather to favor the cause of God without knowing. God determines the boundaries of your habitation.
[27:14] God because of his assignment for your life. Where you are will not determine whether you die or not because we must all appear before the presence of the judgment of Christ.
[27:31] Where you are is an appointment. Where you are is a reflection of something that needs to be accomplished before your time of death. So those of you who live in different places remember you are there because of what God wants to do with your life.
[27:49] One of the reasons why I preach because people's lives were at stake but the other one which was more overshadowing for me is not just people's lives were at stake but the gospel is too sweet.
[28:04] I just can't be quiet about it. It's like fire shut up in my voice. I should keep quiet about the gospel? Sorry I can't. Sorry I can't. Sorry I can't.
[28:16] Sorry I can't. I'm not just being religious. I am on fire for Jesus. The songwriter said I wasn't going to tell anybody about it but I just couldn't keep it to myself.
[28:29] I couldn't keep it to myself. The gospel is too glorious. The gospel is too sweet. So I'm not ashamed. I'm not ashamed. ashamed. I'm not ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it is the power of God.
[28:44] It is the power of God unto salvation. Praise the Lord. I love the Bible. It's not just the book.
[28:56] But this thing contains the mind of God. It's a mind of God's ways. wealth.
[29:08] Wealth of wisdom. It's here. Captured here. It tells us about Christ. There's one objective. One purpose of this book is to force you to realize the significance of the life of Christ.
[29:26] That's the purpose of this book. The purpose of this book is to let somebody realize and recognize the significance the importance of Christ.
[29:38] It's called the gospel. The gospel. This contains the gospel. This is the gospel. That's why we encourage our pastors are confident in carrying the Bible.
[29:52] We carry it because I'm a Bible addict. Anything Bible I'll buy. I don't care about the cost. I want it first before I think about the cost because I am a Bible addict, a gospel fanatic.
[30:09] I'm a gospel fanatic. I'm sold out to the gospel and nothing else. Every other thing I actually really don't give much care about.
[30:20] If you sit with me, you will find out that outside of the gospel, I might be a little bit boring. as long as I am not missing the gospel, as long as I'm holding on to the gospel, whatever I lose in life, it's okay.
[30:37] It's okay. Why? Because this thing is glorious. This thing is glorious. This thing is glorious. It's glorious. It's glorious. Somebody shout the glorious gospel.
[30:49] The glorious gospel. It's the glorious gospel of Christ. I like reading my Bible. I like holding my Bible. I like being identified with the Bible.
[31:02] That's why I taught you that if I'm preaching, I say, I feel like preaching. I feel like preaching. I feel like preaching.
[31:14] When you close the Bible, you have muted God. When you close the Bible, you have silenced God. The only way God can speak is when the Bible is open and explained and we preach out of the text.
[31:32] It's a glorious gospel. It's a glorious gospel. It's a glorious gospel. I came here on a mission. This camp is to stir gospel fire for the next generation of movers and seekers.
[31:54] Charles Spurgeon said, why have you put the lion in a cage? And you're using sword to try and protect the lion and fight enemies away.
[32:09] Release the lion from the cage. It will defend himself. Don't let us try to tell people why the gospel is good and the churches. Leave that.
[32:20] Just preach the gospel and the gospel will find its way into the hearts of those who are appointed to eternal life. those who are appointed, the gospel will find them out.
[32:35] You yourself, are you not surprised today you are in church? You are attacking those who have been preaching. Now you can't wait to wear yellow t-shirts and stand on the streets and preach their gospel.
[32:53] The glorious gospel changes lives. The glorious gospel transforms nations. The glorious gospel changes communities. The glorious gospel saves lives.
[33:05] The glorious gospel builds churches. The best way to attract young people to church is not with tattered jeans. And scattered hair.
[33:17] That's not the best way to attract young people to church. Let us not change the gospel and say young people don't like the preaching of the cross because it gives them emotional distress.
[33:29] It gives them demonic distress that we get if we don't preach the gospel. It gives them emotional issues. So let's listen.
[33:41] Many people have been asking how are you attracting young people? There's no way to attract young people to be excited about the glorious gospel. There's no difference between a young Christian and an old Christian.
[33:55] They're all Christians. And what works for Christians works for even children who have even met Jesus. It is when you want to entertain people that's when you have to adapt to what they like.
[34:11] He says that the gospel makes them stumble. The Greeks they find it so stupid. How can I believe in this?
[34:22] But he said no no no leave them just stay with the gospel stay with the gospel why? Because it's the power stay with the gospel the same gospel the same gospel the same gospel is the message that changes not the style.
[34:39] not the style. That's what is happening to the modern day church which has become just religious. So we want to attract young people.
[34:51] So let's find out what young people like. What is trending so we can attract them because we think the gospel doesn't work for young people.
[35:02] Is that true? Is that true? Is that true? What do you want? What do you want? Why are you here?
[35:13] The gospel. The gospel. The gospel. And the glorious gospel. One of the things young people don't like is when you are not serious about what you are doing.
[35:28] Young people like intensity. Intensity. They like intensity. They want purity and intensity.
[35:41] Yes. God, the energy is there to do the work of God. The energy, the energy, the work of God requires energy.
[35:54] It requires energy. No church, no community, no group of people can see revival if they are not willing to spend long time in prayer, in fellowship, in listening to the gospel.
[36:12] In prayer, in fellowshipping, and in listening to the gospel. The people who spend two hours in church every week are not likely to see revival.
[36:26] Wow. Two hours. some is one and half hours because they are very busy people. And those same people are God send revival.
[36:37] How? Acts chapter 19 from verse 9. When some will not believe but spoke evil of the way, Paul separated the disciples.
[36:48] Paul separated the speaking evil of the way before the multitude. departed them and separated the disciples disputing daily in the school of Tyranus. And this continues by space of two years.
[37:01] Daily. Disputing daily for two years. And Bible says and all Asia had the way. And God did unusual miracles by the hand of Paul.
[37:13] How? Because something was going on a constant basis. They were hearing the gospel. They were hearing the gospel. They were hearing the gospel. On a constant basis.
[37:24] So because of our society and the community we are in and restrictions and responsibilities we can't do two years. But at least if we have a whole day we have to make maximum use of it.
[37:40] So 12 hours is very limited as compared to two years. So we have to maximize it. Maximize the moment. Somebody shout the glorious gospel.
[37:52] I'm not ashamed of the gospel of Christ for the gospel is the power.
[38:04] Number one. It's the gospel of Christ and that gospel it is the power of God. I was talking about creation. God created the heavens and the earth.
[38:16] That tells you the power of God. But the power of God is not greatly demonstrated as ever in the universe like when Jesus walked on the face of the earth.
[38:30] When Jesus died on the cross resurrected from the dead. That was the clearest depiction the absolute depiction of God's power and that power is captured in the preaching of the gospel.
[38:47] The gospel is not about the power of God. It actually is. I'm not ashamed of the gospel of Christ for it is the power of God.
[39:04] And it tells us that it is the power of God and it tells us its ultimate purpose. Unto salvation. If we needed money God would have sent an economist.
[39:17] If we needed governance God would have sent a politician. If we needed health God would have sent a physician. If we needed self esteem God would have sent a therapist.
[39:36] But what we needed is salvation. So God sent a savior. The greatest need of humanity is salvation.
[39:50] Let me tell you the truth. Anybody who is not born again doesn't know Jesus is an afraid man. Sometimes they put up boldness but life is not together for them.
[40:03] Nobody has true peace outside of Jesus because he is the prince of peace. Before he died he told his disciples in the book of John chapter 14. peace I live with you.
[40:16] My peace I live with you. The only thing he left for them some of you when your uncle was dying he left you a shoe. When your grandfather was passing he left you a house in Zambia.
[40:31] When Jesus was going he left the disciples his peace. He said I'm going but there's one thing I want to live! with you take it. Peace I live with you.
[40:43] My peace I give unto you. Not as the world gives. Hallelujah! So British police can threaten you and yet you have peace.
[40:58] They can persecute you yet we have peace. You remember today's reading said persecuted but not forsaken. Verse 9, verse 9, verse 9, verse 9.
[41:09] Persecuted but not forsaken. Cast down but not destroyed. Verse 10, come on, let's go. Verse 10, always bearing about in our body the dying of the Lord that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our bodies.
[41:24] Hallelujah! Look at verse 11. It says, death is working in us. For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus' sake.
[41:36] That the life also of Jesus might be made manifested in our mortal. So as they are trying to kill us, they are actually allowing the life of Jesus to manifest. As they are trying to persecute us, they are paving the way for the life of Jesus.
[41:52] Because the life of Jesus works when they put us under pressure. Hallelujah! That's why someone who has a glorious gospel is not afraid of any man's strength.
[42:06] So what can man do to me? The Lord is my strength. I shall run off here. What can man do to me? They said, back to 2 Corinthians, there's something there.
[42:20] Verse 11 again. For we which live are always delivered unto death for Christ Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifested in our mortal. Look at the verse 12. So then death worketh in us but life with you.
[42:36] He said, as it's written, I believe therefore I speak. We also believe therefore we speak. For though our outward man perishes, our inward man is renewed day by day.
[42:51] Pre-op verse 14 please. Knowing that he that raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise us up also by Jesus and shall present us with you. Verse 15. For all things are for your sake, that the abundant grace might through the thanks give you many redundant to the glory of God.
[43:10] Now look at verse 16. It says that for which cause we fail not, but though our outward man perishes, yet our inward man is renewed day by day. Verse 17.
[43:21] For our oh-oh, somebody say oh-oh, say oh-oh, for our light affliction which is bad for a moment worketh for us a far more exceeding and an eternal weight of glory.
[43:35] Shall glory? For we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen, for the things which are seen, are temporary, but the things which are not seen, are eternal.
[43:46] Did I hear someone screaming hallelujah? Hallelujah! We are our point of reference for our excitement is the gospel.
[43:59] It's the gospel. One of the songs that really humbles me every time that song I hear that song it's like I'm sedated in love for God and I'm humbled.
[44:10] I just admire the mercy of God. It just makes me so soft towards God. For God so loud that well that's the gospel.
[44:24] That's the gospel. I see the word radical and radicalized is not a positive word. It's not a good political word. But it's some people's reality.
[44:37] It's my reality. I've been radicalized by the gospel of Jesus. by the glorious gospel. It's okay to let the gospel take over your life.
[44:51] It will only take you to where no one can take you. Where your background cannot take you. Where your inheritance cannot take you. Where your heritage cannot take you. Where your academic attainment cannot take you.
[45:02] It will only take you into the center of the purpose of God on earth. The center of the will of God on earth is only accessible through the gospel. The center of the purpose of God on earth is only accessible through the gospel.
[45:22] The gospel is an expression of the agenda of God. The gospel is an invitation from God into his purpose, into his agenda.
[45:32] The gospel is the power of God unto salvation. In theological terms, we talk about salvation in threefold.
[45:44] We talk about being saved, having been saved, being saved, and shall be saved. We have been saved in our spirits, in our souls, we are being saved, in our bodies, we shall be saved.
[45:59] We have been saved in the past from our sins, being saved from the present world, and shall be saved from all evil. So when he says there is the power of God unto salvation, which of the salvation is he talking about?
[46:15] Yes. Talk about salvation in every shape and form. It takes the gospel to encounter salvation. No one can be saved.
[46:28] Watch this. No one can be saved outside the gospel. No one. No one. No one. Christianity is not about good behavior.
[46:41] Christianity is not about social acceptance. Christianity is not about being part of a group of people who know how to sing nice songs. Christianity is not about being part of a club of nice and wonderful people.
[46:58] Christianity is about the gospel having taken hold of somebody's life. The gospel. the gospel is about a who? A person.
[47:11] In Colossians chapter 1 verse 28. Hey hey he said so you don't get it wrong. I like the new King James. So you don't get it wrong. He said him we preach.
[47:23] Him him is a person. He's a person. He went down to Samaria and preached Christ. 1 Corinthians chapter 2 he says that for we preach Christ crucified. He said him we preach.
[47:36] For when he said preach the gospel it is about him. The gospel is about him. You remember Paul a servant of Jesus Christ separated unto the gospel of God concerning his son.
[47:49] This gospel is the gospel about him. It's the gospel of Christ. It's called the glorious gospel of the blessed God. Him which him are we talking about?
[48:02] This one who is God but chose to take on some level of restriction and handicap himself to be man.
