In a world full of distractions and personal crises, it is easy to lose sight of the divine. David Antwi explores why true worship requires us to isolate God from our problems and offer Him the glory He is due. Drawing from the imagery of life-saving intervention and the 'valley of the shadow of death,' this message challenges you to stabilize your soul through intentional, focused gratitude.
[0:00] Thank you for tuning into this message by David Entry. Every true revival is a product of the strong preaching of God's word.! May you receive a word from this message that will spark a revival in you.
[0:14] Bible says that he is worthy to receive glory and honor and power and might and dominion. Come on, he is worthy to receive glory.
[0:25] Hallelujah! He is worthy to receive glory and honor and power forever and ever. Hallelujah! Hallelujah! When the scriptures say God is worthy to receive glory, it means when we have gathered like this, like Romans 11, 34, For of him and through him and to him are all things, to whom be glory forever.
[0:55] Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Beauty of holiness.
[1:26] And holiness means uniqueness. Isolate God. Forget about your problem. See, when you focus on yourself, when you focus on the environment, you won't be able to give him the glory that is due his name.
[1:42] There will be always something that will distract you, something that will worry you. When somebody is in a critical health condition and the paramedics come or something, they don't ask, why did you drink?
[1:56] You've been worn, you shouldn't be dry. That's not. At that moment, let's sustain the person and let's stabilize the person. At that material moment, what's most important is, you know, it's like a thief has snatched somebody's bag and the person has fallen and then the person is getting unconscious and you are the only one there.
[2:20] And the person is dying. You leave the person to chase the thief. No. At that material moment, you let the thief go. We need to. So that's what he said.
[2:32] Give God the glory that is due his name. At a particular time, you just forget about everything. And then, you know what? This is time I can say thank you, Jesus. And I render the glory that is due his name.
[2:43] Some of us shout hallelujah like we are forgotten so quickly. Let me explain it. When I say you shout hallelujah as though you've forgotten, many people say hallelujah, but they don't mean it.
[2:59] Because it's, you know, church knees, Christianese. A church language, a church mannerism and church behavior.
[3:09] So we said shout, then you just, hallelujah. But your mind is not on it. You don't mean it. This is an opportunity we are talking about.
[3:21] Giving glory that is due his name. We are talking about giving glory that is due his name. Why don't you just pause and remember.
[3:34] Remember. You could have been in hospital by now. Pastor, now are you threatening us? I'm reminding you.
[3:46] You should have been struck by God because of the sin that you have compromised and no one knows about. How God spares us.
[4:03] You've not been all that clean. Like David was judging somebody. He said, that man must die. They said, sir, it is you. Sir, it is you.
[4:15] With all due respect, sir. You are the one, the man we are talking about. So now you know you must die. So from that position, it is easy for David to say, God, you did this for me.
[4:27] Because, see, when you forget how far God has brought you, your sins forgiven, your health could have gone out of hand.
[4:40] So, in spite of all the other bad things that have happened, thank God, there are some other things that didn't happen. When we say, give God glory that is due his name.
[4:56] Due. You know, it is not like you are doing him a favor. The thing is actually due him. The thing is due God. If you know anybody who is over 35, that means their health is going different.
[5:16] So those of you who are over 35 here, the older you are, the more you must be intentional with thanksgiving. Because, you see, when you remember what he has done for you, you give him reason to do more.
[5:33] You understand? But why 35? Because 35 is half. It's normally 70.
[5:46] God's Bible says that the years of man is 70. If there's any addition, then maybe it's a bonus. But 70. So 35 is, you have gone out, now you are descending.
[5:59] Do you understand that? It comes with age. When you are 50, your body will begin to tell you something. When you are 40, your body will begin to tell you something.
[6:13] I don't believe it, but that's scientific. What I'm trying to say is that. You have a lot to be thankful to God for. God has been good to us. Listen. You see, the problem is sometimes if you are waiting for everything to be all good, you will miss God.
[6:36] But sometimes, here though, I walk through the valley of the shadow of death. You are walking in the valley of the shadow of death.
[6:49] And you can tell your soul, why are doubt disquieted within me? Why are you cast down? Why are you sad? You tell yourself, even me, why am I sad?
[7:01] Why am I sad? Look at what the Lord has done. Look at what the Lord has done. Why are you disquieted? Why are doubt cast down? Oh my soul, why? Why?
[7:14] Literally, what are you worried about? If at some time you can think about the goodness of God, you realize that you really don't have to worry. But it's not about what the threats are.
[7:28] I don't want to focus on the threats. It's not important. Even though it's potential, it's legitimate, it's real. There's something more real.
[7:42] He said that if it had not been, it's God who keeps you. He said when the enemies rise up against us, they come up, they would have swallowed very quickly.
[7:57] But God, it's a time to be to God. He didn't give us as pray to the chief. And so, when you come, if you know God, you actually inform yourself that you don't have to see God at work before you know He's working.
[8:15] Did you understand? But you have to believe that He's, in fact, He's actually working more than you are aware of. He's working more than you are aware of.
[8:27] Did you understand what I'm saying? so that when things look rocky and shaky, really, the bad situation does not overwhelm or become your preoccupation.
[8:40] It doesn't take all your focus. If something takes your attention, remember, part of your attention, you have to direct it to how God is good. You are in the midst of a difficult situation and yet you are saying, see how far you brought.
[9:02] How can you be standing in church and yet what is due God? The glory that is due God. Why are you so concerned about yourself? Why are you so self-centered that you are struggling to just give Him what He's doing?
[9:15] Your worry and concerns might be strong, but as you step into the presence of God, as you step into the sanctuary, you must know where to draw the line and give Him the glory.
[9:26] I feel like preaching to somebody. Give Him the glory that is due His name. Somebody shout glory! Glory.
[9:40] Giving God the glory that is due Him. It is called spirituality. It's called simple. It's very simple, spirituality.
[9:51] You are spiritual. It's not about the tongue she has praying and sweating. You can't even give Him glory that is due but you are biting demons. Lift up your two ways.
[10:06] There's something you can thank God for. I don't have to tell you. You know it. Thank Him. Thank Him. Thank you for listening to this message by David Entry.
