Every human being is a vessel designed to contain the divine, yet many remain empty. In this message, David Antwi examines the necessity of the 'oil'—the Holy Spirit—and how it transforms fragile, earthen vessels into instruments of honor and revival.
[0:00] Thank you for tuning into this message by David Entry. Every true revival is a product of the strong preaching of God's word. May you receive a word from this message that will spark a revival in you.
[0:14] ! The scriptures say that when you seek him, you will find him. When you seek him with all your heart. So, Hebrews chapter 11 verse 6, it says that he is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.
[0:46] There is a certain passion engaged in your desiring or your seeking him. When you desire God, you find him. He said, knock and it shall be open. Seek and you shall find.
[1:08] So, when you desire God, you will find him. And I see somebody finding God in the name of Jesus. Are you ready for God's word?
[1:21] I want to read from Matthew chapter 25. It says that then shall the kingdom of heaven, verse 1, then that shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins who took the alarms and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
[1:38] And five of them were wise and five were foolish. They that were foolish took their alarms and took no oil with them. But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
[1:53] While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight, there was a cry made. Behold, the bridegroom cometh.
[2:05] Go out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said unto the wise, give us of your oil.
[2:21] For our lamps are gone out. But the wise answered saying, not so. Let there be not enough for us and you.
[2:35] But go ye rather to them that sell and buy for yourselves. Here ends the reading of God's word.
[2:47] Amen. Shall we pray? Father, thank you for the privilege to be together around your word. We pray that as we hear your word, let the room be made in our hearts for an infilling of your spirit.
[3:00] Pour out yourself upon us by your spirit. And let none in this building and those who hear the sound of my voice, let none be the same.
[3:10] Let there be an infill of fresh oil. Let there be a release of your Holy Spirit upon us in an unusual way.
[3:22] To the glory of your name. In Jesus name. Amen. Amen. Glory to Jesus.
[3:36] Amen. So, we saw the text. Jesus told them, and he says, the kingdom of heaven shall be likened.
[3:49] Shall be likened unto virgins. Ten. There are a lot of virgins in town.
[4:00] Ten. The kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins. It says that, which took their lambs and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
[4:17] Jesus is our bridegroom. And the virgins there, in 2 Corinthians chapter 11, verse 2, Paul tells the church that, for I am jealous for you with godly jealousy, for I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.
[4:49] So, virgins there symbolize and represents the Christian. The Christian, the life of the believer is a pure life from God.
[5:07] The believer's life is symbolized in scripture as a virgin life. A life that comes from above.
[5:19] The believer's life. And he says that they took their vessels. Vessels are objects that are made to contain something.
[5:33] Right? They've been made to contain, to put something inside. So, every human being is a vessel made for God.
[5:48] Don't forget that. Every human being is a vessel made for God. Shall we all say that together? Let's say it out loud.
[5:59] Every human being is a vessel made for God. Every human being is a vessel made for God. And sometimes you can have a vessel made for oil.
[6:12] The content of the vessel is what determines the quality and the value of the vessel. So, if you are a vessel of and you are supposed to be a vessel of God, God is the supposed to be the object that fills your vessel.
[6:36] God. So, if God as the object of honor fills your vessel, you become a vessel of honor. In Romans chapter 9 verse 21 and Romans chapter 9 verse 23, 21 says that does not the porter have the power over the clay from the same lamb to make one vessel for honor?
[7:03] Did you see that? One vessel for honor and another for dishonor. So, the vessel of honor is when God as the God of honor fills your life, you become a vessel of honor.
[7:18] So, in 2 Timothy chapter 2, verse 20, the Bible talks about how, but in a great house, there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also wood and clay.
[7:37] Some for honor and some for dishonor. If any man, look at the next verse, that's very interesting, people that people cleanses himself from the latter, he shall be what?
[7:53] A vessel, but a particular type of vessel. So, he's talking about human beings. He's talking about if anyone, that anyone is not animals.
[8:05] It's human beings. It's that certain human beings, if you cleanse yourself or you separate yourself from sin and wellliness, you become a vessel of, so we are meant to be vessels made for God.
[8:23] Is that what he gets? Yeah. So, Romans chapter 9, verse 23 again, and that God might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy.
[8:37] Now, this is, this, that word vessels, that's talking about human beings. Because when you study that whole chapter, it's talking about how God has chosen some for honor and others too have been chosen for dishonor.
[8:52] He said, Jacob have I loved. He so have hated. He said, verse 11 of that same chapter, he says, the children, the children yet, not yet being born or knowing good from evil, God has already chosen.
[9:08] It's in the Bible. For the children not yet being born, not having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God, I feel like preaching now, that the purpose, God has a plan, God has a purpose, your life is not an accident, that the purpose of God, according to election, my stand, not of works, but of him that calls.
[9:35] God called you, that the purpose of God, according to election, might stand.
[9:49] It was said concerning the younger. The next verse says that it was said to her, the older shall serve the younger. It's based on God's purpose. So when you read down, down, down, then it talks about Pharaoh.
[10:01] verse 15, it says, it's not of him that willeth, neither is it of him that runeth, but it's of God who shows mercy. For he said to Moses, I'll have mercy on whom I'll have mercy, and I'll have compassion on whom I'll have compassion.
[10:17] So then it's not of him that willeth, neither is it of him that runeth. Abba Shaddaiya! Hallelujah! This whole thing is mercy business.
[10:29] Not M-E-S-S-Y. Mercy, the mercy of God. Then he begins to keep going. Then he said, okay, so somebody will say that.
[10:41] Then why will God blame somebody who is already not called to be a vessel? Say, how dare you, Potter, Clay, question the Potter, how he makes, how dare you?
[10:52] Verse 20, Indeed, old man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed say to him that formed it? Why have you made me like this?
[11:02] How dare you ask God questions? The Potter has the power, verse 21, does not the Potter have the power over the clay from the same lamp to make one vessel for honor and one vessel?
[11:20] It's an interesting argument here. He's talking about human beings God has chosen. Some are meant to be vessels of honor, some are meant to be vessels of dishonor.
[11:31] So, he says in verse 23, that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels. Some vessels, you are just God's mercy. You are a reflection of how merciful God is.
[11:46] Yeah. You are a statement of mercy. Statement. Because the way you were messed up and today, you are so polished in Christ. Today, Christ has chosen you.
[11:58] Today, you are sharing the gospel. Today, you are in church singing. Today, you are lifting. Come on. That's mercy. So, it says that you are so vessels of mercy, which he has prepared beforehand for glory.
[12:17] He has prepared you before. You didn't choose to come to church. He planned that you would be in church. It's all part of the plan. You are part of the bigger picture. You are part of them.
[12:28] Verse 24. Verse 24 says that even us who are called, talking about the vessels of mercy, the vessels of mercy are us who are called, not of the Jews only, but also of the Gentiles.
[12:43] So, now, when it comes to those God has called, it's not got to do with gender, race, or anything. You can't be from anywhere. God, everywhere, God has got some vessels of mercy. 2nd verse 4, it says that, what do you have in your house?
[13:00] The woman said, I have nothing but only a small oil. And it says that the prophet said to the lady that you have oil, it doesn't matter how little it is, if you can find vessels.
[13:16] Oil is looking for its vessel. Oil is looking for vessels. vessels. Oil is looking for vessels. Shout hallelujah. In nature, oil is looking for vessels to be able to be useful on earth.
[13:39] If you have oil in your house, it must be in something. It definitely must be in something. Oil always to be useful, to be workable, to be able to move from one place to another place.
[13:55] Oil is just looking for vessels. But there are certain vessels looking for nothing but one thing. What do you want?
[14:08] What do you want? What do you want? Hallelujah. 2 Corinthians chapter 4 verse 7 says, but we have this treasure.
[14:22] Watch this, watch this. What is the treasure? And it was the vessel. We are the vessel. And interestingly, the vessel is so earthy.
[14:34] it's so natural, it's so human. It's imperfect, but treasure in an imperfect vessel.
[14:47] Treasure in my vessel. But my vessel is earthy. It's earthy. It can break. It can break, but it's treasure.
[15:00] treasure. Why would God put such treasure, heavenly treasure in earthly vessels? Why? So that you can boost.
[15:13] That the excellence of the power may be of God, not of us. The excellence of the power.
[15:26] That's why God has designed it like that. So sometimes when you feel inadequate, when you still feel so human, sometimes when you still feel so frail, when you still feel your humanity really bothers you and burdens you, it is so that the glory and the excellence may be.
[15:47] This is 2 Corinthians chapter 4. Chapter 3, just one chapter behind or a few verses behind. He speaks about, in the verse 5, he speaks about how not that we are sufficient in ourselves, but our sufficiency, give a shout higher, but our sufficiency is from God, who has made us able ministers of the New Testament.
[16:19] if we are able to do anything for God and spiritually recognizable and spiritually meaningful, it is not because of our earthenness, it's because there's a treasure in us.
[16:41] The New Testament ministry operates in earthen vessels, but the vessels contain this heavenly treasure, it is called anointing.
[16:56] It's the anointing that makes you be able to do anything in the New Testament. It's the anointing what angels can't do, men are able to do, earthen vessels, vessels.
[17:17] Not to think of ourselves that we are not sufficient in ourselves. No, no, no, no. It can't be entirely from you. Your contribution is even making it a little bit messy. Your contribution into God's work makes it look messy, but the anointing has a way of showing forth itself that it covers up for your deficiency.
[17:47] God can pour oil from an earthen vessel without the earthenness contaminating the oil. That's what makes the oil precious.
[18:00] It's a treasure. It's treasure. It is not an ordinary oil. Jesus was in Mary's womb. Mary was pregnant with Jesus and yet Mary's naturalness could not contaminate Jesus' divineness.
[18:23] He was still divine when he was born. Baby and yet divine. And the conundrum of the incarnation, the mystery about the incarnation is how can God so pure become human, so frail and yet unbreakable.
[18:49] In the same way, by extension, the oil so heavily and yet is still able to operate inhuman so earthly. and the humanness does not contaminate the oil.
[19:05] Not to count ourselves sufficient, but our sufficiency is from the oil. You want to do the work of God?
[19:18] Where's your oil? Where's your oil? Oh yeah, I know you have ability. availability. I know you have availability, but oil is what determines whether it's heavily.
[19:33] You don't have oil. No oil. Dry. Sit aside with your dry skin. Stand aside.
[19:47] God doesn't need anything from you. God has descended so low to stoop so low to put his hand in the mud to pick you up and yet his hands are not soiled.
[20:07] So if you take away the God components, you're just mad. You're so earthen, mad, married clay, there's no beauty in you to be desired so long as spiritual and heavenly things are concerned.
[20:27] No. Nothing glorious. Nothing beautiful in me. Nothing beautiful in you. So when you see me standing here preaching and you like it, oh, it's not David.
[20:43] It's not David. It's oil. It's oil. You see me standing here and my ministry is doing something to you.
[20:54] It's doing something heavenly to you. It's doing something godly to you. Nothing natural can do anything godly to anybody. Oil is responsible.
[21:08] Oil is responsible. And if you stand here, there's one thing that should be in your heart. One thing that you should desire, that you should seek after is to get the oil.
[21:23] Because oil is a decorator. It will decorate your destiny. It will decorate your life in spite of your background and in spite of your past.
[21:35] If you can get a little oil, if you can get a little oil, if you can get a little oil into this earthen vessel, you can take United Kingdom for Jesus.
[21:47] It takes oil. Somebody scream oil. Oil. Am I reaching out to her? It is sad for you to be a believer and what you want more from God is money.
[22:08] It's even a tragedy for you to be a minister and you don't remember the last time you asked for oil. What's wrong with you?
[22:21] It's like you're going out of your mind. What's wrong with you? What do you think ministry is? He has made us able mini test of the New Testament. It's an ability, it's an oil ability, oilization.
[22:37] Oilization. Even Jesus needed oil. Jesus needed oil before he could start ministry, before he could heal the sick, before he could attempt to call disciples.
[22:54] He needed oil. The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed. That's oil. Anointing means application of oil. The anointing means oil has been applied.
[23:07] He said, for he has anointed me. Luke 4, 18. He has anointed me. That means that he has applied oil on me. In Acts chapter 10, verse 18, how God anointed Jesus Christ.
[23:24] No, no, no. Holy Spirit is not tangible. It's not tangible. When you say anointing, you are talking about application of oil. So, when we say oil, we are not talking about virgin olive oil in Tesco.
[23:37] we are actually talking about the Holy Spirit himself as the oil. In Isaiah chapter 51, verse 1, that's Jesus' quotation. Isaiah 61, verse 1, he said, for the Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to preach.
[23:54] He said, watch this, why the Spirit of the Lord is upon me? No, no, no, no. That because tells you, why? Because he has anointed me.
[24:05] Okay, he anointed me with the Spirit. Do you understand that? Normally, it should be oil, but he's saying that we, the Spirit is our, the Spirit is our oil.
[24:22] So, he has anointed me. Why? He said, the Spirit of the Lord is upon me. Why? Because he has anointed me. So, when he anointed me, the Spirit came upon me. When he anointed me, he anointed me with the Spirit.
[24:35] How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth. In Hebrews chapter 1 verse 9, because you have loved righteousness, therefore, the Lord your God has anointed you with the oil of gladness.
[24:52] Shout yes. He has anointed with the oil. So, is it the Holy Spirit and oil is the same?
[25:02] When we say oil, we mean the Holy Spirit. When we say the Holy Spirit, we mean the oil. That's what I want to underscore here. You want to do God's work? Jesus said, hey, don't go out.
[25:16] Don't. wait. Wait. You don't know how to wait.
[25:28] Many of us are always in a hurry to go. You don't know how to wait. Oh, an effective minister in this generation, you cannot provoke revival if you don't go away or take time away from everything to, we call it waiting on God.
[25:49] What does that mean? It's just me and God for a particular period of time. Just me and God. Nothing else. Me and God. No calls. No phone. No TV. No anything.
[26:00] No internet. Just me and God. Me and God. It's called waiting on God. And Jesus said, if you don't learn how to wait, don't attempt to go. Before you start running, wait for the oil.
[26:17] When the oil comes, the oil will facilitate your movement to overtake anyone who seems to have gone ahead of you. This thing is an oil thing.
[26:31] Jesus said, before you go, wait. Luke chapter 24 verse 49. Acts chapter 1 verse 4. He said, tarry in the city.
[26:43] Wait, wait. Jesus said, I'm not in a hurry to let you go and wait for me. I'm not in a hurry. He told the disciples in John chapter 16 that I'm about to leave.
[26:55] Verse 5. says, because I told you I'm going, sorrow has filled your heart. But you don't know that if I don't go, the oil will not come. When I go, I'm going to come back as the Christ, the oil.
[27:11] The oil, if I don't go, the oil will not come. It's necessary, it's expedient for you that I go. If there's anything we need, oh Lord, we are not asking for money.
[27:25] We are not asking for treasures, physical treasures. We are not asking for material things. We are not asking for fame. We are not asking for what any human being at all would love and want.
[27:39] we are just asking if you don't mind, Lord, consider and pour some oil upon us to take the United Kingdom for Jesus, to shift the culture for Jesus, to shift the nations for Jesus, to stand a great awakening and a revival for Jesus.
[28:06] Oh Lord, oh yeah! for fresh oil, anoint our hairs with oil, for I shall be anointed with fresh oil.
[28:26] We need the oil. to God to God to God to God to! eat eat the believer. They had lamps.
[28:38] Oh, really? They had lamps. So the virgins had lamps and wherever they show up, wherever they were, light showed up. You remember how Jesus said in the book of Matthew chapter 5, verse 14, you are the light of the world a city set on a you cannot be verse 15 and 16 says that no do they light a lamp and put it under a basket but on a lampstand that it gives light to the whole to all who are in the house verse 16 look at verse 16 he says that let your light so shine before men we are lights the believers spirit man is this lamp so in proverbs chapter 20 verse 27 he says that the spirit of man is the lamp did you see that so your spirit man is the most important aspect of your being unfortunately many people don't decorate their spirit they don't give attention to their spirit they give attention to their body and their soul entertainment you have not read your bible you're not reading your bible and you are polishing your face you have not read your bible and you are continuing to buy more games to play you don't have even bible app you have purchased i listen let me tell you this i don't take you seriously as a christian if you've been a christian for a while and you've never purchased bible app you only use the free one and some of you without internet you can't even use it you don't know it is it is exposing you in a very negative light yeah it's betraying you because where a man's treasure is or where a man's heart that is treasure was or treasure is your head whatever is important to you you have to be attached to it if we look at the way you spend your money we can tell where your heart is some of you you spend so much money on your girlfriends you spend so much yeah valentine day is coming you've already ordered from china you've already ordered they are going to deliver it and you are over excited over excited over stimulated for that boy for that girl pastor why is there anything wrong with there is there nothing wrong with it it tells us where your heart is all your resources are spent on where your heart is your bank accounts where money goes to is a reflection of who you really are you you are some of those who are some of those who are some of those who are some of those who are some of those who are some of those who are some of those who are some of those who are some of those who are some of those who are some of those who are some of those who are some of those who are some of those who are some of those who are some of those who are some of those who are
[32:13] Who you truly are. And what constantly shows up on your status. Tells a lot about you. What is important to you.
[32:25] Tells us what's more important to you. What keeps showing up on your people's parties. Birthday, birthday, birthday, birthday, birthday, birthday, birthday, birthday. Tells us what really is important to you.
[32:38] No one church poster. Only Arsenal. Yes. Only Arsenal. Football. Football. That's all.
[32:49] That's all. And then you are when a football team wins. You see your status flying back. Who are you deceiving? You have come to Stania looking for oil.
[33:01] But we know your heart is not about oil. You only get crude oil. Not anointing oil. Crude. Hallelujah.
[33:15] Hallelujah. So. It's important to understand. That when we talk about the oil. We are talking about the Holy Spirit. And when we talk about vessels. We are talking about the human beings.
[33:27] When we talk about virgins. We are talking about the believers. And when we talk about the lamp. We are talking about the spirit of the believer. Which is supposed to be shining and making impact in the world.
[33:41] But what makes your spirit work the way it should work. Is the amount of oil you have in your lamp. Did you understand that?
[33:52] The announcement came that the groom is coming. While people were sleeping. At midnight. People were living their lives. While me I'm living my life.
[34:04] I'm living your life. Go on. Go on. Behold the bridegroom is coming. So they got up. The foolish ones. Who did not make oil a priority?
[34:21] Let the anointing of the Holy Spirit be your priority. As a Christian. As a believer. Let it be your number one priority.
[34:31] Not following online. You are sick. Something is wrong with you. When you want to be a minister of God. And your biggest target is online following.
[34:42] Something is wrong with you. You don't understand the things of God. Something is wrong with you. Something is wrong with you. You are looking for your own agenda. You have your own agenda.
[34:53] Not God's agenda. Something is wrong with you. Why are you so worried when people don't know about you? Excuse me. Who are you? It's because you think you are better than some others.
[35:06] And God will make sure his spotlight will never be on you. When you are worried because people don't know you. Or they don't know about you. But you can say.
[35:17] David. When David sinned. He says that cast me not away from your presence. Take not the oil from me. All I want is oil. Nothing drains the oil like sin and lust.
[35:29] It took great a dent or a crater in the side of your ship. All the oil will spill. Somebody getting something.
[35:44] Why are you in a hurry to be seen when you are not in a hurry to wait? For oil. The songwriter said, I don't mind waiting.
[35:56] I don't mind waiting. I don't mind waiting. They that wait upon the Lord shall mount up with Isaiah chapter 40.
[36:08] Wait for the oil. Wait. Have a heart for the oil. So. The bridegroom came and then the foolish virgins realized that.
[36:22] Oh. We haven't saturated our inner man. With the oil enough. We are running out now. Yes. We got born again and that's it.
[36:35] We're running out. Being born again is not enough. Being anointed to do for God is greater after you are born again.
[36:47] The reason why he redeemed us so that we might receive the promise of the spirit. Galatians chapter 3 verse 14. Verse 13 says, he redeemed us from the curse of the Lord.
[36:59] Having been made a curse for us. For it's written. Cursed is anyone who hung on a tree. That the blessing of Abraham might come upon me. The Gentiles. Sorry. Verse 14. That we might receive the promise of the spirit.
[37:12] So it's not only the redemption. Redemption is not the end. We are redeemed to receive. We are redeemed to receive.
[37:22] To receive what? Oil. The promise spirit is the oil. Oil. For he said in the last days I'll pour my spirit upon all flesh. George chapter 2 verse 28.
[37:33] It shall come to pass that I'll pour my spirit upon all flesh. Your sons and daughters shall prophesy. Prophesying is the function of oil. The spirit of the Lord is upon me.
[37:44] For he has anointed me to preach. Why are you attempting to preach without anointing? Why are you trying to preach? Have you forgotten about the signs of Skiba in Acts chapter 19?
[38:00] Miracles were happening. At the same time mimicking was also happening. Yes. They were mimicking oil.
[38:12] Without having oil. They didn't know that casting out devils required oil. Not worse.
[38:23] Hey! We don't cast devils with worse. Worse will be just empty worse. But when you are anointed. When you speak. It's oil that is spilling out.
[38:35] You are spilling out oil. You are spilling out oil. So when miracles are happening. Mimicking are also happening. By the copiers.
[38:46] They are copying. How can you copy an anointing? So. When they realize that they needed oil. This thing requires oil. Then they are telling me.
[38:58] Can you share your Holy Ghost with us? It's not shareable. It's very personal. Can you learn a bit of your Holy Spirit?
[39:11] Then Jesus dropped a major secret. Matthew 25 verse 9. They said that. But the wise answer is saying. No. Lest there should not be enough for us and you.
[39:25] But go rather to. I know a carrier. I know a carrier. Authorized. One of the easiest means for oil to be transferred.
[39:36] Is true teaching. Is true teaching. The Bible says in Luke 5. There was a time. Jesus was teaching. And the power was present.
[39:51] 570. The guy said. Let me tell you the secret. Oil is available. But on two conditions. You have to find those who sell it. And then when you find them.
[40:03] Don't go and just be looking at them. You go and buy. So today. My main preaching is about buying the oil. Buying the oil.
[40:18] Buying the oil. Catherine Coleman was asked. What does it cost to get anointing? He said. The anointing will cost you everything.
[40:30] What's the cost and the price to pay for the anointing? Everything. If you are not ready to pay anything. Don't think the oil is ready for you.
[40:44] When you want the oil. You must be ready to pay. Whatever. Listen. If you don't have this mindset. That whatever it takes.
[40:56] I'm ready for it. Forget it. How can you make impact for God? Without having this mindset. Whatever it takes.
[41:08] It can cost me everything. But no problem. Break it on. It can cost me my life. Acts chapter 15 verse 26. He said.
[41:18] These are men who have risked their lives. For the gospel. These are men who have risked their lives. You want anointing.
[41:29] What are you ready to risk? What are you ready to sacrifice? What are you ready to put on the table? The anointing will cost you everything.
[41:41] And without anointing. You can't make anything. Significant impact for Jesus. Anyone who left a footprint. In the sand of time.
[41:56] For revival. And for the move of God. Where people who paid a price for anointing. God is looking for certain vessels. You must have a heart to say that.
[42:09] Lord. I'm available. I'm available. The anointing will cost you everything.
[42:19] What's the meaning of everything? Everything. Everything. Everything. Everything. He said. What's to worry about this? Philippians chapter 3.
[42:30] Whatsoever things were gained to me. I can't lose. That's. That you begin to talk anointing language. I have. Eight.
[42:41] Points. On. How. To buy the anointing. How to buy the oil. Eight. Steps. To buy the oil.
[42:52] The cost of the oil. The cost. If you are willing to pay the. Full price. Some people pay half price. Later on. They come and repossess it. A lot of people live in houses that is not for them.
[43:07] But they say. That's my house. I bought it. No. No. It's for the bank. You stop paying. The bank will tell you. It's mine. Bring it. Your name is on it.
[43:18] You have everything. Land registry. It's registered. Your name. Titled it. However. It belongs to the bank. It belongs to HSBC. Northwest.
[43:31] Halifax. So some people. Are trying to get an anointing. But not ready to pay the full price. How to buy the oil.
[43:43] What price to pay for the oil. Acts chapter 20. He said from Melitus. He sent for the elders of the church of Ephesus.
[43:59] And he called for the elders. He said come. Elders come. Elders come. Elders come. You are the ones to lead the way.
[44:10] Come. Come. So. Then he began to tell them about his story. He said you know my lifetime. And you know what.
[44:22] That is verse 18. Things that have happened to me in Asia. And he was talking to Asians. Yeah. Ephesus was in that time. The part of Asia. The elder. He was talking to Asians.
[44:33] Not Haitians. Asians. Asians. He was telling them about. You know the things that. From the first day that I came to Asia. In what manner I always lived amongst you.
[44:48] The next verse. Let's give. Serving the Lord with all humility. Pathway of the anointing. Serving the Lord with all humility.
[44:58] With many tears and trials. Which happened to me. By the plotting of the Jews. So many things happened to me. So many things.
[45:10] In 2 Corinthians chapter 1 verse 8. He said you know. In Asia. What came upon us. It says that. We were even despaired of life. We don't want you to be ignorant. We don't want you to be ignorant.
[45:21] We don't want you to be brethren. Of our troubles which came to us in Asia. That we were burdened beyond measure. Above our strength. It gets to a time. I can't take this anymore. I was telling you when I went to wait on God.
[45:36] And I was trying to fast dry. I was doing it. But. One of the nights. I said God. This is why it's too much now. I was so hungry. I couldn't sleep.
[45:48] I couldn't get up to pray. I couldn't read. The hunger has taken over everything. I felt like. No, no. I think this is. Even if I get one slice of biscuits. That's what we call.
[46:04] Above strength. Tell me your above strength moments for the Lord. Small singing. You are doing the choir. You can't stay. They corrected you.
[46:15] You are upset. You are leaving the choir. Small correction. Why are you so high maintenance? Intensive care.
[46:26] What kind of Christian is this? Above measure is part of the deal. Above strength. Beyond strength. Above measure.
[46:37] It's too much. He said I'm tired of living. Poor. I'm tired of living. Not that I want to commit suicide. An apostle.
[46:52] The pathway to the oil. You think it comes cheap. You see a man standing here. I've been spending a few days away from home.
[47:04] Seeking God's face. Just in case you have. You give me something to say. Seeking his face. There's no guarantee he will show up.
[47:16] Why you keep seeking. You keep seeking. Because my soul follows hard after you. Psalm 27 verse 8 says.
[47:30] When you said, seek ye my faith. My heart said, thy face, O Lord, will I seek. So. So. He said, you know what has happened to me in verse 20.
[47:43] How I kept back nothing that was helpful. But proclaim to you. And taught you publicly and from house to house.
[47:54] That's Paul. He's telling you there. He's telling them. You guys know my history. Paul said, you know my manner of life. You know my manner of life.
[48:05] Most people who are anointed. People know their manner of life. Who knows you? Apart from the club. Where do we know church? What? What?
[48:16] What church? What church thing do we know about you? What ministry thing do we know about you? And suddenly you want to prophesy. Are you got it?
[48:27] Be patient. The anointing will come. Let's know you. Arms and downs. Let's know that days you backslided. You dipped. Yeah. It's okay.
[48:37] How long you stayed for. And then you are back on fire. It's okay. The recovery time. The recovery time. So Paul spoke about his history. And then he went on to talk about.
[48:49] How I care about nothing. My teaching. He said. You knew my teaching. I only didn't do it in church. When we are out of church. And I met you in your house. I was also talking. My.
[49:00] You see. My life at. In the house is not different. My life. From my life in the church. Some of you. You know it. You haven't met it yet. You have different life.
[49:14] But. We are getting there. Verse 21. He said. I was testifying to Jews. And also to Greeks. Repentance. He said. You know my message.
[49:26] You know my message. It's not when I hear one thing in church. I'm also saying something else. My message. My message is not secret. He said that. Verse 22.
[49:38] He said. And now. See now. I go bound in the spirit of Jerusalem. Not knowing. The things that will happen to me there. I'm going. I don't know what's going to happen.
[49:49] But the Holy Spirit says. That in every. It's been saying in every city I go. That. Chains. And tribulations. Afflictions. Are waiting for you in Jerusalem. Now.
[50:02] Point number one. What it takes to buy the oil. You remember. It says. Go to them that sell it and buy it. What does it take to buy the oil. Number one. Your love for God.
[50:15] The anointing of God. Goes to people who have a heart for him. He said. I found my servant David. Psalm 89. 20. With my holy oil.
[50:27] Anointing. He said. David is a man. After my heart. Is a man. After my heart. He said. There's a man.
[50:37] After my heart. In the house of Jesse. This guy loves me. He loves me. And I will anoint him with my holy oil. He said. When he had removed him. That's. Acts chapter 13.
[50:49] He raised up David. As king. To whom he gave. He gave testimony. And said. I found David. The son of Jesse. A man. After my heart.
[50:59] Who will do all my will. David loved God. He's the one who said. My soul follows hard after him. Who is it? He's the one who said. The Lord is my shepherd.
[51:10] He said. Yeah. Even though I walk through the valley. I feel no evil. He said. Goodness and mercy shall follow. And he said. All the days of my life. I will dwell.
[51:22] Psalm 27 verse 4. He said. One thing have I desired. One thing have I desired of the Lord.
[51:32] That I will seek out. That I will dwell in your house. All the days of my life. Beholding the beauty of God. And inquire in this temple.
[51:44] For in the time of trouble. He shall hide me. Forget about trouble. I just want to stay here. He said. David. David. David. Why would God annoy somebody like that? Brothers and sisters.
[51:55] I love Jesus. I love Jesus. I can walk away from anything. Just because of my love for God. He says. Simon.
[52:06] Simon. Do you love me? Mother. You have to set your affection. Solomon. Because I have set my affection after God.
[52:17] Set your affection. Your heart is gone for God. Nothing is too much for God for you. Nothing is too much for you. To do for God. When you are all out for God.
[52:30] You become too much for the devil. Some people are not all out for God. We are not sold out. That's why you have that nonsense. You go to church head. What's the meaning of that? You are not sold for God.
[52:41] That's why you are talking that rubbish. Where do you see that in the Bible? Where do you see that in the Bible? Church head. Church head. Church head. Every relationship comes with a challenge. Every relationship comes with a challenge.
[52:51] What's the meaning of church head? Church head. They coined all these demonic words that are invading the church to put people to sleep. To sedate people. These are demonically engineered words.
[53:05] When you love God and you are in the ashes and pastor says leave the ashes. Go to choir. You go. You don't make it personal. Time for what? Their attitude will change. Now they come to the church.
[53:16] They come late. And they cross their legs and sit at the back. You will be the most dry person the church will ever know. You. You remain dry till you die.
[53:30] You're too proud. Who do you think you are? Humble yourself when you love God. You love God. When they rebuke you, thank God for his sake. Most people don't like to be disciples.
[53:45] Christianity thrives on discipleship. Disciple is not a student. A disciple is like an apprentice. A disciple is someone who stays with the master, hangs around with the master to learn from the master and to do what the master does.
[54:04] Discipleship. Discipleship. Some people are so arrogant. Even ushers can't show you where you should sit. Now are you getting what? And such a person you'll be anointed. You will be annoying.
[54:17] When you love God, you don't struggle to serve him. When you love God, you don't struggle to serve his people. So love God.
[54:28] Number two. Acts chapter 20 verse 24 again. Look at it. Wow. Acts 20 verse 24. But none of these things move me. That means that I count all things lost.
[54:43] If you are not ready to count all things lost, count yourself out of catching an anointing. He said the kingdom in Matthew chapter 13 verse 44, 44, 44.
[54:57] He said again, the kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in a field which a man found and hid. And for joy over it goes and sells all that which he has embanked.
[55:09] You're going to sell what you have to get it. If you are not willing to lose all. If you are not willing to lose anything for the oil.
[55:21] You are not ready for the pure oil. Paul said none of these things move me. They will mock me. No, that's no problem. I will lose friends. No problem. They will criticize me online.
[55:34] No problem. You can be a billionaire. You can be a billionaire. I will gladly sacrifice you for Jesus. You can be a potential wife, a potential husband.
[55:45] I will gladly sacrifice you for Jesus. You can potentially promise me a big job with six or seven figure salary.
[55:56] I will gladly sacrifice you. Some people can't say it. They can't say it. Only a thousand pounds extra. You have left the potential oil.
[56:06] Number three. He said dealing with self. Dealing with self. You are too much full of yourself. Dealing with self.
[56:19] Put the flesh on the altar. Deal with self. He says that neither do I count my life. Your life is too precious to you.
[56:32] That's why you can't go find God. I mean your life is too. Acts chapter 21 verse 13. He said, hey, I'm ready to die. Don't stop weeping to break my heart.
[56:42] Paul then answered, what do you mean by weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord.
[56:56] That's how far he was ready to go. He said, I don't count my life dear to me. I don't count my life dear to me. You want to catch anointing? You are too precious. Your life is, you can't deny yourself.
[57:09] Your life is too precious. And all those labels that they give you, you have embraced it. You know, since I was born, I am this label. So, I don't do this.
[57:21] When people talk to me in a certain way, I begin to have anxiety. Anxiety because somebody told me that I have to break up with my boyfriend.
[57:34] And I'm having anxiety. Eh? Really? Because that boy is everything to me.
[57:47] So, dealing with self or denying self. Dealing with the flesh. Number four. Forsake wealthiness. Materialism. Forsake.
[57:58] Be willing to walk away from materialism. Forsake wealthiness. Bible says in Acts chapter 19, from verse 18, and particularly 19. People who used to practice all kinds of things, brought it and bent it.
[58:12] They abandoned. They forsook their old practices. Yeah. Be ready to forsake that boyfriend. That girlfriend. Yeah. Number five.
[58:23] Quickly. None of these things would be. Neither do I count my life dear to myself. So that I might finish my race with joy. Did you see that?
[58:34] His mind is on the second cabin of Jesus. On the road. He's looking at things from eternal perspective. Let me put it this way.
[58:45] It's a big theological word, but it's good to learn some of these words. He has an eschatological approach. Eschatology.
[58:57] Eschatological approach to life. So everything he's doing is thinking, when I meet Jesus, how is this going to work? Paul said in 2 Timothy chapter 4, verse 7, he says, I fought a good fight.
[59:13] I finished my course and I kept the faith. Say, I finished the race. I finished the race. When you look at chapter 20, verse 24, it says that I might finish.
[59:25] So when he said, I finished, what he took to finish is not counting his life dear. None of these things will be. So that I might finish. 2 Timothy chapter 4, verse 8.
[59:36] He said, finally, there is laid out for me a crown of righteous. It's an eschatological approach to life. Watch this. It's a crown of life which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give to me.
[59:49] Not today. There's a day coming. He was living his life in the light of a coming day. It's a day of reckoning.
[60:00] It's a day of reward. It's a day of accountability. And it's a judgment day. It's a day when Jesus shall give unto everyone. 2 Corinthians chapter 5, verse 10. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of God.
[60:14] That everyone will receive what you have done in the flesh, in the body. Whether good or bad. He was looking at that day. He was looking at that day. But it says that now, 2 Timothy chapter 4, verse 8.
[60:25] It said, now, finally, there is laid out for me a crown of righteous. Which the righteous judge, the Lord, the righteous judge, will give to me on that day. Not to me only, but watch this. For who? To all those who love his appearing.
[60:38] That's when you are doing ministry. You are doing church work. You are serving with the coming in mind. You can't be anointed without loving his appearing.
[60:54] So, looking unto the coming. The other phrase you can use is love his appearing. What I am doing here, if no one claps for me.
[61:05] If no one gives me anything. I am not doing this because what somebody will give me. I am doing this because I will meet him. I will meet him one day. And as I am doing this, one of my eyes is looking at you.
[61:19] The other eye is on that day. The other eye is on that day. It makes anointing flow towards that day. Anointing is supplied to you to prepare for that day.
[61:32] Oil comes when your love is appearing. So, number four is forsaking wordliness. Number five is loving is appearing. Number six.
[61:44] Acts 20. That I might finish my race with joy. And the ministry. Ministry. Ministry service. And the ministry which I have received from the Lord.
[61:58] When you want anointing. Anointing is not to prove to your uncles. Your aunties who didn't like you. That you are powerful. Your mind is on ministry.
[62:09] The work of God. Now, where will God anoint you since you joined church? What have you done? What have you been doing? You've done between the NHS. You are anointed. For what?
[62:20] What's your record of labor? God blesses those who love and serve him. So, you have an interest in the work of ministry.
[62:32] Not the glamour of ministry. Some people, all they want is front seat. All they want is to be given the stage. Hallelujah. Don't come with what you want to do.
[62:45] Ask, what can I do? Ask, what pastor? In what capacity should I serve? Anything you say, I'm happy. Because you are not here for the pastor.
[62:56] Your eye is on the work of ministry. You will not lose anointing. Anointing will look at you very easily. And then, seven.
[63:08] That I might finish my race with joy. And the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus. To testify to the gospel.
[63:18] You are a gospel-centered person. This whole thing, you will never lose sight of what the main purpose of Christianity is. The word, the message.
[63:30] The message of Christianity must be the center of your life. Anointing comes to people who are gospel-centered. Peter was preaching.
[63:43] Cornelius, the Holy Ghost has to come on him. But the Holy Ghost said, I won't come until the gospel comes. The Bible says, whilst Peter yet speaks these words. Acts chapter 10 verse 44.
[63:57] The Holy Ghost. When you are gospel-centered. Christ-centered. Gospel-saturated. You have a gospel orientation. You are gospel-oriented.
[64:10] Your mind is focused on Jesus Christ. Who died on the cross. He died on the bloody cross. And rose again to prove with an empty tomb.
[64:24] And resurrected to sit in heavenlies to be our anointing. Right. This whole thing is about Jesus. It says, Survive in gold, have I none such as I have.
[64:38] Give I thee. Then the someone that says, Can I give you money? May your money perish with you. Yeah. You don't have a part in this.
[64:49] Because you don't understand what this whole thing is about. This whole thing is about Jesus. Those of us who are here. Who are not tired. We have a heart for Jesus.
[65:01] If you have a heart for Jesus. Pure oil will easily locate you. Gospel-centeredness.
[65:11] And then the last point. How do you buy the oil? Number eight. Which normally I make it my number one. Passion. Desire.
[65:22] I want it. That's what it takes to buy the oil. When you want the oil, when you have a desire, it's not just a feeling. It will translate into people you listen to, people you follow.
[65:33] Yes. God doesn't pour his spirit on somebody who doesn't maybe. Okay, if you come, let it come. If it doesn't come. No, God doesn't have time for people like that. The anointing reacts to thirst.
[65:45] When you are thirsty, you draw. When you are hungry for anointing, what do you get? The anointing. Anytime you are hungry for oil, what you get is oil.
