+Savannah Rakes baby dedication
Saturday Night Service
[0:00] You must be sitting down teaching. Both of you.
[0:39] Stand right there and hold her. This is James, baby, right? What's her name? Savannah. That's a pretty name, isn't it? That's all of her, too, isn't it? Sing a little song.
[0:51] Jesus loves the little children. All the children of the world.
[1:02] Red and yellow, black and white. They are precious in his sight. Jesus loves the little children of the world.
[1:15] One more time. Oh, Jesus loves the little children. All the children of the world.
[1:28] Red and yellow, black and white. They are precious in his sight. Jesus loves the little children of the world.
[1:41] Now, I didn't know that we were going to do this. So just at service tonight. So hold her there just a moment. You know, my mind goes to the story of Hannah and Elkanah, Phaniah.
[1:58] And how she desired a son. Her womb was barren. And how that when it came time to go up for the feast, she was all downtrodden.
[2:10] Didn't really want to go. And finally she went up anyway. And they all went in and did their offering before the Lord and everybody else left.
[2:21] But she stayed there at the altar. Praise God. And she was crying and she was interceding, no doubt.
[2:35] And Samuel, the high priest, didn't understand what was going on. And he said, woman, so you've been drinking too much. Sound like Pentecost again, doesn't it?
[2:46] These are not drunk as you suppose. And she said, oh my Lord, I haven't drank anything. But I made a petition to God.
[2:58] That if he would just give me a son. I said, I'd give him to him. And you know what? God heard her cry. And she went home.
[3:10] And about nine months later, she had a son. His name was Samuel. Amen. I told you a while ago, Levi was the priest at that time. And when that child was weaned.
[3:24] Can you imagine this? My mind can't conceive this. When that child was weaned, she took him back to the temple of the Lord. And she gave him back to God. And he dwelt there in the temple with Eli for the rest of his life.
[3:41] Every year at feast time, his mother would come up and bring him clothes and food and everything. Can you imagine that? Give him to God. One time Jesus, when he came in the flesh, was walking down the street.
[3:53] And I saw a picture one time. And it was a picture of Jesus smiling and grinning. I thought, no, that's a Jesus I really like to think about.
[4:05] That's one I like to see. One who is friendly and everything. And I can see him having time for everybody. Everybody that came to him, he had time for them. And he sat down one day and he was resting.
[4:16] He had been ministering and doing everything that, you know, God would do here on earth. And all the women wanted their little children for him to touch them. And they said, oh, keep them little children back.
[4:30] I said, you know, master ain't got time. You know what Jesus said? He said, suffer ye the little children. And forbid them not to come.
[4:40] For of such is the kingdom of heaven. And except ye become as little children and suck on your fist.
[4:51] You shall in no wise enter into the kingdom of heaven. Amen. So we've came tonight. Thank God for grandparents who, even though their children may not be in church, that they'll bring their grandchildren to church.
[5:08] Amen. And live the right way in front of them and try their best to instruct them and train them up in the way that heaven will go. Amen. Hallelujah. So we've come tonight to dedicate little Savannah Eileen Rakes.
[5:25] Amen. To Jesus. Hello, sugar. Does she not look like James now? Amen.
[5:38] Let's all just go to the Lord in prayer. Lord Jesus. Father, you see this baby that I hold here in my arms. Lord, this is a life. This is a body, a soul, and a spirit. Lord, this is something that's been created in your image and in your likeness.
[5:52] And Lord God, she just didn't happen here by happenstance. But Lord God, she's here by your direct will. We ask you, Lord God, to put a shield, a hedge of protection around this baby.
[6:04] Lord God, that she should grow up, Lord, in the beauty of holiness. Lord God, that your light would radiate and shine through her, Lord, to everybody she comes in contact with. That they would know that she is a special child.
[6:15] Move, Lord Jesus, and touch little Savannah tonight, mighty God. Lord, and Lord, anoint her life, Lord Jesus, that she might be a living witness for you. In your precious name we pray. And everybody say amen.
[6:26] And amen. Amen. Does anybody know what Savannah means? God bless you. Anybody know what Savannah means? That's a wavy field of grass.
[6:39] Kind of like in the marsh grass, but it's real long and stretched out as a Savannah. Can somebody say amen? Amen. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. How many brought your Bible with you tonight?
[6:50] Amen. Praise God. If you do, I want you to turn with me to the book of Isaiah, the 28th chapter and the 11th verse. Isaiah 28 and 11.
[7:02] Down home, I've been ministering on the Holy Ghost. And I got up here this morning and I started studying on the Holy Ghost again.
[7:16] And if you know, I've been trying to finish a message that I started a month ago or six weeks ago on the four manifestations of the Holy Ghost. Can somebody say amen? Can anybody tell me what the four manifestations of the Holy Ghost are?
[7:28] There's the feeling.
[7:59] And I don't want to preach on any of those tonight. I want to preach real briefly tonight on ten reasons why you need the Holy Ghost. And I probably won't get to all ten of them, but I think this is really needful at this time.
[8:15] Matter of fact, from what God was showing me before I came out here, there's no question about it. God has chose this place. This is a place that believes in the name of Jesus and lifts up that name above every name.
[8:29] And we claim to be Jesus people. And everything that we do, amen, is direct related to the name of Jesus. Can you say amen? In Isaiah 28 and 11, it says, Let's bow our head and go to the Lord in prayer.
[9:00] Lord Jesus, your precious word, Lord God, says this. Lord God, with stammering lips and other tongue, Lord, you speak to your people. Father, tonight we ask you, Lord God, Lord, to bless, Lord, your word.
[9:12] Lord, even mightier than it is already, Lord God. And let it, Lord Jesus, take some root downward in our hearts that they might be able to bear some fruit upward. Lord God, that we might be found to be fruit-bearing Christians. Lord, we ask it all in your precious name and for your glory.
[9:24] And everybody say amen. Amen, amen, amen. This is a promise. Nowhere before this did God ever make a promise that with stammering lips and another tongue was he going to speak to his people.
[9:36] Can you say amen? Hallelujah, hallelujah. In the book of Luke 24 and 49, Jesus says these words. He says, But tarry ye in Jerusalem until ye receive the promise of my Father upon you.
[9:55] Can you say amen? Hallelujah, hallelujah. Praise God. Over in Acts, the first chapter, and the fourth verse, look what he says there.
[10:07] I want to read, I want to read 24, 49 again. And behold, I send a promise of my Father upon you. Behold, I send a promise.
[10:18] How many know that the Holy Ghost is a promise? Amen. With stammering lips and other tongue. Behold, I send a promise of my Father upon you. I just miss Bruce and Missy.
[10:30] But tarry ye in Jerusalem until ye have been in due with power from on high.
[10:47] Over in Acts, the first chapter, and the fourth verse, Jesus Christ, right before he was ready to ascend, said these words. And being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which saith he, ye have heard of me.
[11:06] Can somebody say amen? Amen. Does anybody know what the Holy Ghost was given for? Why? Why? Why the Holy Ghost? Why?
[11:17] Why do we as Pentecostal Jesus name people think we need the Holy Ghost? We, uh, it seemed like the most Pentecostal folk are from the wrong side of the tracks.
[11:30] They make all manner of fun against us. They call us goose jabberers and holy rollers and fanatics. Amen. But do you know what the thing that I think that displeases God the most?
[11:42] Amen. Is that I believe he gave us the Holy Ghost to give us power. Amen. Over the world. Over our flesh.
[11:53] And over the devil. So when we got the Holy Ghost and we, and, and, and, and we don't have power over the world. The world has power over us. See, I think that when you get the real Holy Ghost, it's going to teach you how to walk.
[12:08] And it's going to teach you how to talk. It's going to teach you how to act. It's going to teach you how to dress. It's going to tell you where you can go and where you can't go. Amen. Hey, it's, it's, hey, it's going to give people a reason to talk about you.
[12:23] But if you, if you're comfortable sitting in the, in, in, in, in, in the place of sinners and not witnessing to them, be partaking of their sin, not making them uncomfortable around you, and you claim to have the Holy Ghost, honey, I just wonder what kind of Holy Ghost you got.
[12:39] Can somebody say amen? Woo! I done read, where it said, wherefore come out from among them and be a separate, saith God, and touch not the unclean thing.
[12:49] Then, I'll be your God. Then, you'll be my children. But if I still look like the world, and I still talk and tell my dirty little jokes like the world, and I still go to places the world goes, you know what my Bible tells me?
[13:04] I wrote it down here. It's in 1 Thessalonians 5, 22. Abstain from the very appearance of evil. Abstain. Abstain.
[13:15] That means stay away from. You know what the Bible said about Job? Job. He said, and in the land of Uz, there was a man whose name was Job.
[13:26] He was a perfect and upright man, one who feared God and astued evil. He abstained from the very appearance of evil. Amen? And you know what God called him?
[13:38] A perfect man. Well, Brother Ben, I got the Holy Ghost, so it's all right for me to cuss a little bit, drink a little bit, hole around a little bit, lie a little bit, cheat a little bit, drank a little bit.
[13:54] Hey, I got the Holy Ghost, I can take it. Honey, if you really got the Holy Ghost, you don't have to take it. You can overcome it. Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.
[14:06] Either it's true or it's a lie. Listen, Riverside. Come on. I'm preaching to this church. I'm not preaching to some church down the street.
[14:17] I'm not preaching to somebody else. But when I hear reports of people in church who are supposed to be, you know, really born again for the Holy Ghost, run up for God, and they're out drinking beer.
[14:27] Or sleeping with somebody. Or going places that a Christian wouldn't go.
[14:39] Or wearing things that a Christian wouldn't wear. You know how I really feel about it? Don't wear anything that you wouldn't want to wear if the rapture took place and you were going. Amen?
[14:50] If you live it like that, honey, then you're going to find out that straight is the gate and narrow is the way, and few there will be that find it. A lot of people talk about it. But, honey, they ain't found the way because they ain't living right.
[15:02] And if you got the Holy Ghost, you will live right. And if you ain't living right, then you're deceived. See, the worst state that you can be in, being a sinner, is not the worst state that you can be in because a sinner knows that they're lost.
[15:17] But a person that thinks they're saved, but still lives like the world, acts like the world, looks like the world, dresses like the world, talks like the world, smells like the world, but thinks they're saved and they're gone. So they're not praying about it.
[15:30] They're not worried about it. They're not doing anything about it. What's going to happen to them, honey? The trumpet's going to sound. Church is going to be gone. And the hypocrites are going to be left here.
[15:43] Can you say amen? Amen. Mark 16, 15 through 17. Goes like this. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved.
[15:57] Do you believe? Have you been baptized? You shall be saved. What are you saved from? Oh, man.
[16:09] Are we supposed to be a hole in this church? Oh, man. Brother there, do you put in our bulletin that we believe in a personal holiness? How did you, how did you, exactly how did you word that? We believe in a personal holiness before God.
[16:29] That it doesn't matter so much what I think, even though I'm your pastor, it doesn't matter really what I think. What does God think? Can you say amen? That's what y'all saying is more important than what I'm saying.
[16:40] Y'all need to be quiet and listen to me. Amen. Hallelujah. Praise God. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved, and he that believeth not. Now, you don't believe by saying what you say.
[16:53] Well, I believe. Because that's not good enough. But the Bible says that the devil also believes, and he even trembles. We don't tremble. We're not afraid of God. Because we know that God is love.
[17:06] Can you say amen? Hallelujah. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved. He that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe. In my name they shall cast out devils.
[17:18] In my name they shall speak with new tongues. How many people here speak with new tongues? Just hold your hand up real high.
[17:29] I want to count you. I want to see who it is. That ain't real high. Let me just speak a little bit. All right. All right.
[17:42] Thank you. Speak with new tongues. Take up serpents. Lay hands on the sickness.
[17:53] They shall recover. Drink any deadly thing. And they shall not harm them. Listen. You done any of those things lately? You cast out any devils lately?
[18:06] Let me tell you, the devil that needs to be cast out ain't the one that's somebody sitting on the pew next to you. It's the one that you're looking at. Amen. Right there. It's your devil. Right there. Someone's calling you all your trouble. It's you. It's you.
[18:18] What's that saying? It's not my brother, not my sister, but it's me, oh Lord, standing in the prayer. Oh, I am saved. I am sanctified. I am filled with the Holy Ghost. I'll shut up and get prayed through. You really get prayed through. You know what I found out?
[18:30] God has sent. Don't y'all get mad at me because I say this, but God has sent a Jesus Christ through this neighborhood. What did I say? What does 2 Corinthians 7.14 say?
[18:42] F my people. What you call with my name? My people, my name, will humble themselves and pray and turn from the wicked ways. Amen. Called by his name.
[18:55] Was Jesus ever accepted? Oh, when he was feeding them. I got to tell you, you can line up. You can get a pocket full of money and get everybody in the Riverside community around here and take them out to eat.
[19:06] And they'll all go out there and eat your food. But when you start preaching to them, they're going to all take off and say, we don't believe that. Can you say amen? But you know what? God has sent them to Jesse Jesus.
[19:18] Jesse Jesus. Somebody that full of power, full of word, full of Holy Ghost. To be an example.
[19:30] Now, some of you probably don't even like Jesse. Because all he does is talk about the Bible. He talks about it from the time you get there. Matter of fact, I just walk up and say, brother, I got to see you later.
[19:42] I got to go. Get ready. And he's still, well, I'm getting in. He's just full of it. You know what? Ha! And you know, he's feeling rejection.
[19:54] Now, he didn't tell me this. I know this. I said to him, Jesse, people aren't rejecting you. They're rejecting the Jesus Christ that's inside of you. Amen? Amen? Amen? Amen? Amen? Amen? Amen? Amen? Amen?
[20:05] Amen? You see, because it ain't all right to be full of the Holy Ghost and keep on smoking your cigarettes. It ain't all right to be full of the Holy Ghost and wear your tank tops and your belly showing and your butt hanging out the bottom.
[20:16] Amen? It ain't all right to paint up like Kathy's Clown. All right? You say, brother, man, listen, you just might as well know I've been holding it back long enough.
[20:27] I'm holding this from the top of my head to the sole of my feet. We're Riverside Pentecostal Apostolic Church. Amen? That means that we believe in the apostles' doctrine. We believe in coming out from among them and being separated.
[20:40] Amen, saith the Lord. Then the signs are going to follow. But until we can cast the devil out of here, we ain't got no business of trying to cast the devil out of nobody else. Until we can conquer this.
[20:54] Until we can keep our mouths shut. And we ain't got no business of trying to tell somebody else how to live. Until we can get the beam out of our eye. Ain't no sense that's trying to get the mold out of somebody else's eye. Amen?
[21:05] Who do we need to be working on? Working on my building. My building. My building. My building. Is my body a temple of the Lord, of the Holy Ghost?
[21:16] Amen? Hey, if any man defile the temple with him, God destroyed. Is that what the Word of God says? What kind of temple are you trying to provide for the Lord to live inside of you?
[21:29] What are you filling yourself up with? What are you feeding the Lord when he comes to your table to eat? When somebody comes to my house, especially if they're moving in, I expect they want me to feed them.
[21:42] I've got to have a table spread. Amen? Amen? Amen. But it's got to be full of spiritual things that Jesus Christ is interested in. Amen? The Apostle Paul not only wrote two-thirds of the New Testament, he not only wasn't there on the day of Pentecost, but right after that he was putting everybody in jail that believed in the name of Jesus.
[22:01] Can you say amen? Hallelujah. Until the Holy Ghost chased him down and put a saddle on his back and said, I'm going to ride you from now on, boy. Paul said, just ride on.
[22:11] Stick the spurs in and let the fur fly. Can you say amen? Do you know what it meant in those days to accept Jesus Christ? It meant to be rejected by your family. If a husband accepted Jesus and his wife, then his wife rejected him.
[22:26] And if it was vice versa, and if their children didn't do it, their children rejected you. And the church, you were outcast. They wouldn't speak to you. They wouldn't talk to you. They wouldn't loan you money. They wouldn't have anything to do with you.
[22:36] You were excommunicated. Really meant something. Anymore, we don't have enough Jesus inside of us to make anybody feel uncomfortable around us.
[22:49] Amen? A lot of folks feel uncomfortable around Jesse. All of you want to just talk about the Word of God all the time. But, you know, I just think about this. Do you see this? Make people uncomfortable.
[23:01] About time we got uncomfortable. Amen? The Bible said, when the Spirit of truth has come, speaking of what? The Holy Ghost.
[23:11] He'll lead you and guide you into all truth. Amen? When the Holy Ghost comes, it's going to lead you into the truth. And what does he say? My Word is truth. If you're not getting in the Word.
[23:25] Listen. There can't be a real without being a fake. There can't be a real Holy Ghost without being a fake Holy Ghost. And a fake Holy Ghost can't still speak in tongues. Shout out to God. Come see me. Time out to God. Just go to this kind of economy.
[23:36] I told. Hubba hubba hubba. It doesn't matter. They might even get up there and shake like Samson did. But, honey, one day he found out that the Spirit was gone.
[23:49] He shook himself. He rose and shook himself. As at other times. I always had it before. But, honey, it fooled around with the devil too much.
[23:59] God would allow you. And he'll let you get by. He's tender mercy. And he's long-suffering. Amen? But there comes a time when enough is enough. And when he shuts you off. Amen. You can stand outside the door and knock and say, let me in.
[24:12] Lord, let me in. Then we, Lord, cast out devils and do all these miraculous works in your name. He's going to say, depart from me, you workers of iniquity. I never knew you. I don't even want to claim I ever knew you. You came to my church.
[24:24] A church that had my name on it. You claimed to be filled with my spirit. You claimed to be washed in my blood. You was baptized in my name. And then you go out and live like the world.
[24:35] Act like the world. Talk like the world. I never knew you. He said, if you're ashamed of me before this evil and adulterous generation, I will be ashamed of you before my father.
[24:47] Can you say amen? Hallelujah. Let me hurry along here. The apostle Paul not only preached on tongues, but he practiced what he preached in 1 Corinthians 14 chapter. Flip that with me real quick. 1 Corinthians 14.
[24:59] Somebody say praise the Lord. Amen. I'm not going to be very long. I'm almost through right now. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Thank you. It said follow after charity. And that's a translation which means love.
[25:14] Agape love. God kind of love. We don't need to follow after the worldly kind of love. Amen. We need to follow after godly kind of love. Follow after charity. And desire spiritual gifts.
[25:28] Love what you did last week, Mama. I love that. I went down home and told them all about it. Amen. Where's Rachel? Get up here. Get off that back row.
[25:41] You know better than that. Wait till I tell your daddy I had to get you. Listen. I was telling them about it and she said, Was that my mom flowing?
[25:54] I said, It sure was. Amen. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. He said, For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue, speaketh not unto men, but unto God.
[26:10] For no man knoweth or understandeth him. Howbeit in the spirit he speaks mysteries. But he that prophesies, speaketh unto men, to edification, exhortation, and comfort. Three things that prophesying does.
[26:24] It exhorts you. It builds you up. And it edifies you. And it gives you comfort. But he that speaketh in an unknown tongue, edifies himself. But he that prophesied, edifies the church. Now I'm not talking about prophecy.
[26:35] Now I'm talking about the Holy Ghost. I'm talking, When's the last time you spoke in tongues? Let me tell you how often you need to speak in tongues. Several times every day. Several times every day.
[26:47] Because there are certain benefits that come when you begin to speak in tongues. Amen. One thing, it keeps you remembering that you are the temple of the Holy Ghost. Amen. And the things that you might be desiring to do, you won't do them.
[27:00] Because honey, you've just been speaking in tongues. Amen. Amen. It makes you aware that you're in the presence of God. Man, I feel the Holy Ghost in this place tonight. Woo!
[27:14] Over in that verse 18. No, no, no, no. Go down to verse 13. It said, Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret. For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth.
[27:30] But my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? He said, I will pray with the spirit and I will pray with the understanding also. Amen. How does God want us to pray?
[27:41] Pray with the spirit and pray with the understanding also. Can you say amen? Listen. And I will sing with the spirit. Come on. And I will sing with the spirit.
[27:54] When's the last time somebody was up there singing in tongues? Have a sister, Patsy. Amen. I will sing with the spirit and I will sing with the understanding also. Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say amen at the giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest.
[28:15] For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified. I thank my God. I speak with tongues more than you all. Yet, in the church, I had rather speak five words with my understanding that by my voice, I may teach others than 10,000 words in an unknown tongue.
[28:37] And I like the part that says, but I thank my God. You know what I really believe? I really believe he was saying, I speak in tongues more than all of you. God, I walk in the spirit.
[28:49] Amen. He's the one that told us, but if you walk in the spirit, you won't fulfill the lust of the flesh. I believe he walked in the spirit. Amen. He talked in the spirit. I believe he slept in the spirit. He said, I'll come to visions and revelations. Amen.
[28:59] I believe every time when he was sleeping, God was giving him even things. Man, I said, his mind was just kind of rolling because my Lord, he was in the spirit all the time. Can you imagine what it's going to be like to one day enter into the physical, spiritual presence of God?
[29:15] And we won't be in this body. We'll be in the spirit being also. Amen. And our spirit would join with his spirit and we'll really be one. Oh, man. Oh, man. That just kind of blows my mind.
[29:26] Oh, what joy that awaits me. Hallelujah. When I step inside the gate, one of the greatest needs for every Christian is to be spirit filled and to speak with tongues regularly.
[29:40] Oh, well, brother Van, I do it when we come to church and spirit gets real high. Yeah, that's what most people do. And that's why we have trouble all week long. But we need to, and it's a gift. It's a gift.
[29:54] Somebody gave me something here a while back. Uh, sister Rachel gave me a big old UK wildcat. I'm talking about one of them humongous things. It'll hold a gallon, I guess. And you know, did you tell me when to use it?
[30:08] Did you tell me where to use it? Did you tell me how to use it? How many believe God's the same way? He gives you the Holy Ghost. Amen. Well, I can't do it unless I feel just that, just that certain little tingle going up my spine.
[30:20] And then, I can do my neck just like this, in a certain place, then I can speak in tongues. No, honey, God gave you the gift. And, and he that speaketh in a nun on tongue, don't speaketh unto men, but unto God, for in the spirit he speaks mysteries.
[30:35] And he edifies himself. Why in the world do you have to be edified? Because there are, one man had 6,000 demons. They called him legion. And, and if that one man had 6,000, then there's no telling how many multiplied zillions of, of demonic spirits are trying to oppress you, and depress you, and oppress you right now, even while I'm preaching.
[30:55] To get your mind on everything, but being full of the Holy Ghost. Can you say amen? Hallelujah. I promise that if you will, begin to do what I'm trying to tell, tell you about.
[31:10] That your whole life is going to change. If you'll get up in the morning, put your feet on the floor, and start speaking in tongues. For the promise is unto you. Everybody know Acts 2.38?
[31:23] Somebody tell me Acts 2.38. Could I get somebody that really knows to say it out loud? We'll hear you. Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of your sin, and you shall receive the Holy Ghost.
[31:39] My Lord, is this a Jesus named church, or what? Well, what's Acts 2.39 say? I don't mean to open it up and read it in the Bible.
[31:52] We can all open it up and read it. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to them that are far off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
[32:10] Who's it promised to? Who's it promised to? Who's it promised to? And then it says that God will not withhold any good thing from those who walk up right before him.
[32:21] Amen? Amen? And then, Jude says, don't let you think that you're going to get anything unless you get it by faith. By faith. If you get saved, it's by faith. Amen?
[32:32] For by grace are you saved through faith. The gift of God, not a word, such as any man, you boast. If you get baptized and that water has any meaning to you at all, you get baptized in the name of Jesus. Amen? If you get saved, you get saved in the name of Jesus.
[32:44] If you get healed, you get healed in the name of Jesus. If you get the Holy Ghost, you get the Holy Ghost in the name of Jesus. Amen? Amen. Everything we get comes through the name of Jesus. So I'm going to tell you I'm going to preach on the first reason that we need to get the Holy Ghost and then I'll be quiet.
[32:58] The first reason that we need the Holy Ghost is because it is the initial sign that you have it. Now you may have it and not know it because you never speak in tongues.
[33:15] I'm going to say that again because the devil didn't want y'all to hear that. Speaking in tongues is the initial sign for you to know for you to know because it don't matter what anybody else thinks.
[33:27] It does not matter what your wife, your children, your husband, your pastor. It don't matter what nobody else thinks, what you think. Because everybody can tell me I got it and if I know I ain't got it, I ain't got it.
[33:38] Everybody might think I got a dollar in my pocket and everybody in here can tell me I got a dollar and try to convince me I got a dollar in my pocket but if my hand's in my pocket there ain't no dollar in there, it ain't there. But if I got a dollar in my pocket, you can tell me it's not there.
[33:50] Or you want to, but I say yes it is. You know why? Because I got a hold on it right here in my pocket. Amen? Hey, hey, hey, honey, if I got the Holy Ghost, you can tell me all day long you ain't got it.
[34:01] But I say, devil, you a liar. Hey, you ain't going to talk me out of it because I know I got it.
[34:12] I know I got it. I know I got it. I feel it. I feel it. You get up early in the morning, put your feet on the floor and start speaking in tongues, you might scare everybody else in the house. Half death. But honey, the devil's going to know I got a battle today.
[34:25] That's right. Because we're not compromising with the devil. We come to make war with the devil. Amen? Every day. Every day. Every day. Woo!
[34:36] Somebody shout, Woo! Woo! Woo! Now, speaking in tongues is the initial. That means the first. Evidence that you have. The gift of the Holy Ghost.
[34:50] Not the last. You can have it. You can have it. You can have it and not know you got it. You can have it and not know you got it.
[35:04] You can have it and not know you got it. If you don't ever speak in tongues, well, I pray. I'm a good person. I fast.
[35:16] I read my Bible. Well, you're already doing more than most people supposed to have Holy Ghost then. Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha. Woo! Praise God.
[35:28] Amen. But honey, when you begin speaking in tongues and there's no question, the devil's on. He knows the fight is about to begin. I'm going to have trouble with him.
[35:38] That's what the devil's on. I'm going to have trouble with him all day long, I bet you. Because they're going to speak in tongues every time I get around and start bothering them. Every time somebody says something to them, everybody sometimes, somebody pulls out from them in a stoplight still cussing them out and starts speaking in tongues.
[35:51] Amen. Every time your wife makes you mad instead of getting mad and hollering back at her, when she starts hollering, just start speaking in tongues. Honey, if I can't preach to myself, I can't preach.
[36:14] If it's good for the goose, it's good for the gander. Amen. I guarantee if your boss comes up to you and says, you ain't doing that right, you say, Shalom, and you're in my kitchen and I'm going to cook it my way.
[36:26] So you're not going to leave me alone and get somebody else. They may go hire somebody else, but they're going to leave you alone because they're going to know you're crazy.
[36:39] Well, it doesn't matter what they think. They're going to know that there's something different about you and that they can't tell there's something different about you. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen.
[36:57] You know, the Holy Ghost will convict you. I love to eat. Thank you, Sister Treva, for taking me out to dinner today. I eat like a pig.
[37:11] I eat pork chops. I eat steak. I eat beef. I eat chicken and ice cream and banana pudding and potatoes and I ate.
[37:35] I was going to tell you why I was telling you about that. I may remember it in a minute. But thank you for doing that. I wanted to be sure and tell you I appreciate you for taking me out to eat. What's the last sign that you got the Holy Ghost?
[37:53] If that's the initial sign, if the initial sign is you speak in tongues, what's the final sign? You got the fruits of the Spirit. You got love.
[38:06] You got joy. I passed a cutter lady when I was going to see Marie today and this lady was just coming into the hall but she coming and before she ever got to me she had a big old grin on her face.
[38:18] I didn't say anything to her but I thought, honey, you got the Holy Ghost because there ain't nothing to grin about around here. And she says, hi, how are you? Praise God. I should have said, I'm fine.
[38:29] How are you? I guarantee if I did, she would have shouted all over that place. Amen. Hallelujah.
[38:41] Hallelujah. The final gift is you got some love and you got some joy. You got some love and you want to love everybody. You're not trying to, well, you know what Treva did tonight. She got over in that church and sang that song, do that thing, you know what she did, her little thing, you know what I had.
[38:52] You know, you're not looking on people to pick on. You're thinking, my goodness, look at Sister Treva, man, she's been all laid up. Now look, she's got both her shoes on and she's walking and she's singing and she's preaching, honey, she's on her way back.
[39:04] Amen. The devil thought he had her down, but she ain't down, but she ain't out. She's coming back. See, the devil will catch you, the devil will catch you sometimes in a fault and he'll beat you over the head with it.
[39:22] Don't let the devil beat you over the head with it. I'll do that. But then I'll pour in the oil and the wine. Can you say amen? Love and joy and joy and joy and joy and peace and peace.
[39:41] Somebody said, I'm worried about the war. I'm worried about this and I'm worried about that and I'm worried about the cops and I'm worried about and I'm worried about and hey, if you got the Holy Ghost, if you got the real Holy Ghost, he's going to give you peace.
[39:52] He's going to let you know that hey, all things are working together for good to them that love God. Amen. That's the way it's going to happen. Amen. You got long suffering. You got meekness. You got temperance.
[40:04] You got faith. Not only that, that's just part of it. The last of it is that you got a word of wisdom that you can speak to somebody and say, the Lord told me to tell you this.
[40:18] You got a word of knowledge. You got gifts of tongues and interpretation of tongues and gifts of healing and miracles. That's the end of it.
[40:29] We want to start right on the end. We want to jump up and start giving out messages and telling people all this and stuff, honey. Take some dying out to your flesh and get in the mind of Christ before you can speak those words that God wants you to speak.
[40:42] Can you say amen? Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Tongues is the supernatural evidence of the Spirit of God indwelling inside of you.
[40:53] Can you say amen? Tongues is the spiritual supernatural evidence that there's something going on inside of you. In Acts 10.44 when there was a man named Cornelius and Cornelius was praying and the Lord appeared to him and said, go down there and send for Peter and tell him come up here.
[41:19] When Peter got up there he said, you know, began to preach the word of God to them and they believed it and when they heard the word the Bible said that the Holy Ghost fell on them that heard the word.
[41:31] The Holy Ghost fell upon them and heard the word and they that were of the circumcision which means Jews anytime you hear the word that they were of the circumcision that means the Jews were astonished that on the Gentiles also was poured out the Holy Ghost.
[41:43] You know what that means? That means it's available to you and I. Amen. They were and they said can any man forbid water that they should not be also baptized as we were baptized. Amen. Amen.
[41:55] As Acts 10, 44 through 46 on down through there. So tongues are for everybody and then Acts 1 and 8 says but ye shall receive power. Now, do you have any power?
[42:11] Paul said all things are lawful unto me but I won't be brought under the power of any of them. because I have the power of the Holy Spirit but you shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost has come upon you.
[42:28] Power to do what? To become witnesses. Power to become witnesses. Amen. What does the word witness mean? It means a martyr. Power to lay your life down.
[42:40] Power to crucify your flesh. The Holy Ghost gives you power to lay aside all your habits of talking and everything that's not like God. The Holy Ghost gives you that power to crucify your flesh.
[42:53] To be crucified with Christ. Can somebody say amen? Hallelujah. For this promise is unto you and to your children to your children's children to them that are for all even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
[43:09] That's just the first reason why you need the Holy Ghost. Just the very first. The initial reason. The initial reason. Amen. Does the people around you know that you have the Holy Ghost?
[43:21] Do they know what you stand for? Are you letting your light shine? If you go to school or the people in school do they know that you got the Holy Ghost? Do they know that you're saved?
[43:32] Do they know that you're different? Are you different? And I've seen people with their skirts dragging the ground and their hair dragging their butt and their tongue so long that they could lick out Paul's ears pulling back on the back row.
[43:49] Talk about everybody in church running everything down ain't got nothing good to say about nobody. Amen. Hallelujah. The Bible said that the tongue is an unruly evil full of deadly poison set on fire of hell and can't no man tame it.
[44:03] Amen. But the Holy Ghost the Holy Ghost can tame your tongue. See when you get mad you don't have to cuss. I used to think when I got mad I had to cuss.
[44:16] I guess I thought that because every time I got mad I cussed. Matter of fact I was cussing when I wasn't mad. But you know what? The Holy Ghost when he came cussing went out.
[44:27] I couldn't quit I couldn't quit anything on my own. But when he came in and that power came in with the Holy Ghost he gave me power to be more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ who strengthens me.
[44:41] Amen. The Apostle Paul even put it kind of like this in Romans 7 he said when I would do good evil is present with me and the good that I wouldn't do that's what I do. So then I found the law. The law of sin.
[44:53] Amen. There's a law of sin. And it wars against the law of the Spirit of Christ inside of us. And then I say to myself O wretched man that I am who shall save me from this body of sin? And then he gives you the answer but I thank God through Jesus Christ my Lord.
[45:06] Amen. There's therefore now no condemnation to them who are true in Christ Jesus who walk after the Spirit not after the flesh. Can somebody say amen? Let's stand up and let's lift up our hands tonight.
[45:19] Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Lord God we want that old time Holy Ghost. Lord God we want that old time fire feeling. Lord God devil hating. Devil stomping.
[45:30] Bible jumping. Lord Jesus Christ we need that old time fire. Lord God it'll burn up all the wood hay and stubble that's in our lives. Lord God it'll make us more than conquerors more than overcomers Jesus Christ that we might walk like you talk like you act like you and live like you and until you come Lord then we'll go up with you Jesus.
[45:47] We love you and we praise you mighty God in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen.
