Father's Day

[0:00] I was really hoping they'd be some men here. This is Daddy's Day. Hello? We got a few men. I've never had an opportunity to minister on Father's Day or Mother's Day or the holiday.

[0:15] But anyway, I was hoping Chuck Pollard was here. Kevin Allen needs to be here. How many of the President of the Lord's here, though? And the reason I'm saying that, Brother Van, is while I was laying on my bed last night, because this was unusual for me, okay, I was praying for the young men in our church.

[0:42] And the Lord kept me awake the majority of the night. And I believe it's a trick of the devil. Hello? Chuck needed to be in this service.

[0:53] Kevin Allen, you can tell him I said he needed to be in this service. Amen? Listen, we are living in a warfare. And when the anointing's here and the Holy Ghost is here, Brother Van, I feel like they need, you know, that's where you need to be.

[1:07] Amen? Last night, I had been seeking the Lord, and I had been sought in God for the daddies in the church and the daddies to come. Sister Floella.

[1:23] And while I was laying on my bed, I don't know which way to go. Y'all just pray for me. See, Chuck, while I was laying on the bed, Brother Van, said for nine years, and I'll still get a chance to tell him, have been waiting to be known as a daddy for nine years.

[1:40] See, if I really tell you, you're going to have to pray for me because it's rough on rats. Can I really tell you what the Lord told me?

[1:51] Old-time men. I'm going to use the old daddies. I wish the young men was here. I really wish they were here.

[2:01] But maybe the Lord would give me a chance to tell him again because, listen, church, this is a serious thing. See, everything that's spiritual has natural.

[2:14] We all know we got a heavenly father, right? And what I was studying on is the everlasting father, Brother Van. Counselor, the mighty God, the prince of peace.

[2:26] Now, you've got to promise you love me. But I was thinking about the daddies, Brother Van, years ago. This is Daddy's Day, right?

[2:38] Maybe Brother Darrell will record it and they can listen to it. My husband worked for 50 cents a day. Hello?

[2:49] There's men in here that's been hard workers. Amen? But how many know that there's a spirit in the land today?

[3:02] Don't get mad at me. Pray for me. And it's going to destroy our young men if they don't get under headship and instruction. Honey, listen.

[3:19] If you're fishing and you're hunting and you can't go out and get a job and you can't provide for your household, the Bible said you're worse than an infidel. Hello?

[3:31] If you carry the title of Daddy, you are a provider. You probably shouldn't have ever asked me to preach for Father's Day. But you know what? They pick on mamas.

[3:42] Hello? But listen. My little husband, let me tell you something. He made that face, but he was a worker. He provided for his family.

[3:56] And there's a spirit of the day, you know, and the mamas and the grandmas has ruined the children. You know what we've done? We've spoiled this generation.

[4:10] And there's a lazy spirit that's on our young men, but yet they want to be soldiers. And let me tell you something. It will affect your spiritual walk with God. If you get mad, you're going to have to pray through.

[4:23] Pray for me. I'm just telling you, I laid awake. Most of the night when Daryl said, you're going to minister, I thought, oh, my Lord, help me. And I really, really, listen.

[4:34] I love you. Do you believe that today? I love you. But listen. We set up and we get these attitudes. It don't matter how I walk down here. Oh, yes, it does.

[4:46] If you're going to be a witness for the Lord, and we're going to live for God, honey, we've got to be the right kind of men, and we've got to be the right kind of women. Hello? Amen.

[5:01] Listen. Long time ago, they say, we could stretch a dollar. Couldn't we, Sister Floella? We could stretch that money. Brother Van, it was just as hard for us back then as it is for you today.

[5:13] But let me tell you what the Lord said. The Lord said our problem is we've got too many wants that we don't need. If Susie over here's got a new dress, I've got to have a new dress.

[5:26] If Timothy over here's got to have a new suit, I've got to have a new suit. I've got to have this, I've got to have that, but I don't need to work, and I don't need to pay my bills. Hello? Now, I'm not talking about if you have an affliction on your body, but yet my little husband stood up many times and worked what he did, wasn't able to work.

[5:45] And Sister Treva, 62 years old today, and still working, Brother Van, and not able to work, Sister Floella, listen, you know why? Because the old people, you can get mad if you want to, young men, but listen to me, the old people was made out of something.

[6:02] Get quiet in here, ain't it? Listen, the natural walk goes with the spiritual walk. Is this right, Brother Van? But we get these attitudes.

[6:12] I don't really care what anybody thinks. Well, let me tell you something. When I, for some reason, Brother Van, I've been to many funerals, but when I went to Kimberly's, all of a sudden, something hit me, Sister Floella, and said, Your testimony on this earth matters.

[6:33] How we walk in God, how we live in God, how we die in God, is important. I've learned through the years to get wisdom. I used to have that attitude just like anybody.

[6:43] I don't care. But listen, it's important. I thought, Sister Floella, I want to live, Brother Van, so that people will know, come on, that I'm sincere in the Lord, that when God, if God was to call me, and I was to lay out, I don't know what you have to say, did you make it?

[7:04] You will be, after the power of the Holy Ghost comes upon you, you will be a witness. How we live on this earth is important. That we wonder why we're in the shape that we're in.

[7:19] We wonder why we're in poverty. We wonder why the Lord said, Listen, the Lord said, I didn't make it up, and I didn't write it, Brother Van, but if I'm his seed, something's wrong.

[7:35] Come on. Listen, yes, at one time, I lived with Sister Floella, I could tell you, I never had running water, I didn't have bathroom, I didn't have this, and I didn't have that. Yes, God wants to bless you, but let me tell you something, he's got to be first.

[7:49] And here's our attitude. I don't like that job. It don't pay enough. I got to go out here and make $50, or I'm not going to work. Hello? We don't want to start at the bottom, Brother Van, and let me tell you something, when you start down there, and I don't care if it's $5 an hour, and you'll pay your 10 cent percent of the, he told me, and you put it in the fruit of the Lord, honey, he's not going to forsake you, he's going to supply your needs.

[8:17] I don't like that. I don't care if you like it or not. Now you're getting that too. Yes, because I know where God brought me from, and I know where I am today.

[8:30] And listen, when my husband laid up, Brother Van, and never had no money coming in, God never forsake me. Hello, Sister Floella, I mean, some of them knows. What I went through, DW might even remember, I don't know.

[8:42] But let me tell you something, Chris, let me tell you people something, Jesse, I didn't have a dime coming in, when my husband was laid up, but God, what time come alone, and even sent an angel to pay my rent.

[8:53] Hello? Can I preach? You walk up right, if I'm his seed. So you know what, if you're begging, something's wrong, because he said, all we had to do is ask.

[9:10] Woo! But we got to have, the Lord told me last night, we're too worried about, the cares of this life. We're too worried about, let's get a land of our treasures in heaven.

[9:21] We got all these wants, but I'm telling you something, friends, I love you today. Get rid of your attitudes, when God opens up a door, honey, if you'll go in there, faithful over that little $5. Listen, when I started working, it was $2.50 an hour.

[9:35] This is for somebody. Hello? I'm going to tell you, how you can prosper in the Lord. Amen. If you serve him all the way, Sister Floella, it's his promise.

[9:47] I'm his seed today. How many is his seed today? Well, he told me, I'll never leave you, I'll never forsake you. But you know what our hinders is? Our attitudes.

[10:01] God opened up a door, I don't like that job. Well, let me tell you something, friend, I worked many jobs, I didn't like either, and I sure didn't like scrubbing toilets, and scrubbing rooms, and cleaning people's behinds for $2.50 an hour either.

[10:15] That's plain, isn't it, Mama? Didn't. But do you know what God did for me? He took me out of a little old shack. Hello?

[10:26] Because I was willing to put him first. Is that what it says? Seek ye first the kingdom of heaven, and all these things to be added. Honey, we're not putting him first. We say we are, but we're not.

[10:40] I never went without anything. If I needed a pair of shoes, it was there. If I needed, hey, the beans and the cornbread may not have been the best meal, but you know what I ate? And let me tell you something, this ain't gonna go too good either.

[10:53] We're too busy running out here, and we want to run to restaurants, and we want to eat, we don't want a good old home-cooked meal no more. We don't want a good old home-cooked meal no more. We want this fast food junk, but yet I'm going to Walmart, and I'm going out here to eat if I don't pay my bill.

[11:10] Because grandma's gonna come through, mama's gonna come through, somebody's gonna come through. Oh, I wish they were here. I wish they was here. Feet, do you know it's the truth?

[11:20] It sure is, it's the truth. I know I probably shouldn't preach this father's day, but let me tell you something, children, it's more than just saying daddy. It's more than just saying mama. Come on, listen, if we want to be ministers, and we want to be an example, and we really want to be Holy Ghost, and you want God to move for you, I promise you, if you'll get out of these attitudes you got, and you'll get in God, he said in the Deuteronomy 28 chapter, I'll bless you, and you're going in, I'll bless you, and you're coming in, I'll bless the fruit of your womb.

[11:47] Listen, try Jesus. All I'm gonna ask you today is to try Jesus. Listen, turn real quick. Somebody say praise the Lord.

[12:00] Pray for me. Listen, God loves us today. God loves us today. Listen, over in Isaiah, the ninth chapter. Listen.

[12:14] Start the second verse. The people that walk in darkness have seen a great light. that they, that dwell in the land of the shadow of death upon them have the light shining.

[12:28] Who is Jesus, brother, if he ain't our light? He said, I'll lead, and I'll guide you into all the truth. In the path, did he say that? He's our light, church.

[12:38] He wants to guide us. Is this right? Thou hast multiplied the nation and not increased the joy? They joy before thee according to the joy in harvest. And as men rejoice when they divide the spoil.

[12:52] For thou hast broken the yoke of his burden and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, as in the day. Somebody help me. Okay.

[13:06] For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise and garments rolled in blood. But this shall be the burning and the fuel of the fire.

[13:16] How many believes we need the Holy Ghost in fire? The burn out, the things that's in my life. Come on. That's in my life. For listen, for unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government shall be upon his shoulder.

[13:34] Listen. And his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.

[13:47] Wonderful Counselor is indicated of a miracle. Listen. The Mighty God, it is the strongest of these titles.

[14:00] We serve a Mighty God. The promises is ours. Is this right? If God said it, he's going to do it. Is this right? He said, if I be for you, I'm more than the world can be against you.

[14:14] Listen. Go to Titus, the second chapter. It wasn't a long service. I'm going to get a sermon. I'm going to give you these scriptures. Titus, the second chapter.

[14:27] How many's there? Starting at the 11th verse. Listen. For the grace of God that bringeth salvation had appeared to all men.

[14:39] Hello? Teaching us that denied ungodliness and worldly lust. Oh, my Lord. How many things we can lust after the things that we really don't need?

[14:54] You can lust after a car. Every time you mention lust, they think, oh, that's chasing a woman or a man. No, it's not. The Bible said, he that's driven away is driven away by the lust of their flesh.

[15:10] Amen? Darrell last night was ministering on a stand-up soldier. And I got a lot out of it. When I got home, I began to dwell on it and I got a lot of it.

[15:21] Out of it. And worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in this, what?

[15:33] In this present world. We are the light of this world. Amen? Hello? So, you know, a lot of times people say, it's not important.

[15:47] Brother Van, this is the spirit going around. You know it is. It's not important what you do in the flesh. Oh, yes, it is. This is the house.

[15:58] Brother Van was preaching, working on the building. Last night, we was in here, Brother Van, and we were saying, praise ye the Lord. Praise God in the sanctuary.

[16:10] Praise Him in the infirmity of His power. Is this right? And Brother Van, if we could just realize this is a sanctuary, but we're really the sanctuary. Come on.

[16:23] We're supposed to have the power of the Holy Ghost. Come on, to want to walk like God, live like God, righteously. That's what it says. Is that right? In this present world, looking for that blessed hope and the glorious appearance of the great God and our Savior, Jesus Christ.

[16:44] Go to Ephesians, the second chapter. Mighty God. Somebody say, praise the Lord.

[16:57] How many knows He's our counselor, our Prince of Peace? Amen. How many would like to have a peace of mind? Hello?

[17:09] Well, you know what the Bible said? Help me preach, Brother Van. Does it not say, He that keeps his mind stayed upon me? Then you know what?

[17:20] We're really carnal. The Bible said, He that's spiritual-minded. Honey, we should have peace today. You know what our problem is?

[17:30] We can't put it on the altar. Hello? It's because we look at the circumstances. I see there's coming a time today that we're going to have to walk by faith and not by sight.

[17:46] Come on. We're supposed to have peace, joy, happiness. Hey! God will bless you.

[18:12] Listen. The unity of the believers. Wherefore remember that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh who are caught uncircumcision by what that which is called the circumcision in the flesh made by hand that at that time you were without Christ being alien.

[18:31] Huh? You mean we're alien? from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenant of the promise having no hope and without God in this world.

[18:46] There is no hope without Him. But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

[18:59] How many's got the blood today? Listen. For He is our peace who had made both one and had broken down the middle wall of the partition between us.

[19:38] How many knows that we're supposed to become new creatures? Is that what the Bible says? Old things pass away everything becomes new. You would go to Isaiah the 64th chapter.

[19:53] Thy art our father. How many believe Jesus cares about us today? I couldn't make it without him.

[20:05] I'm glad I have a heavenly father that loves me today. Listen. Isaiah 64 starting at the first chapter. I may not be able to bring this out like Brother Van and Daryl.

[20:19] So y'all just pray for me because I'm just trying to follow the spirit of the Lord. Oh that thou wouldest writ the heavens that thou wouldest come down that the mountains might flow down at thy presence and when the melting fire burneth the fire cause the waters to borrow to make thy name known to thy adversaries that the nations may tremble at thy presence.

[20:47] How many knows a lot of times we sang in the presence of the Lord Jehovah God. You know what we got to do?

[20:58] We have got to learn to get in his presence in the sanctuary and praise ye the Lord when things don't look good. Then God is going to come in and he's going to make a way.

[21:13] How many believe that? When thou didst terrible things which we look not for thou camest down the mountains flowed down at thy presence. I like it. Presence. For since the beginning of the world men have not heard nor proceed by the ear neither had the eye seen O God beside thee what ye have prepared for him that waited for him.

[21:33] How many knows the Bible said in my I go away to prepare you a place and in my father's house there is many mansions. Come on down here.

[21:50] Amen. For since the beginning of the world men have not heard but eyes has not seen and ears have not heard what God has in store for us.

Thy meek is him that rejoice and work his righteousness those that remember thee in thy ways behold our walk for we have sinned in those in content and we shall be saved but we are all as an unclean thing how many knows we're filthy rags that's what it says and all our righteousness are as filthy rags and we all do fade as a leaf and in our iniquities like the wind they have taken us away hello there's not a one I'm sitting in here tonight today that don't fall short of the glory of God but do you know what I like I got to look at sister to repent hello I've got to get my house in order for the coming of the Lord and there is none that called upon thy name that stirreth up himself to take hold of thee for thou hast hid thy face from us and hast consumed us because of our iniquities but listen

[23:05] I like this but now O Lord thy are our father this is father heavenly father now he's our heavenly father amen he's our counselor he's our mighty God come on he's our prince of peace is this right we are the clay and thou are potter and we are the work of thy hand listen Isaiah pleased with God to come down and intervene in the affairs of the nation God's presence is described as melting fire and it causes the nation to tremble amen Isaiah pleased with God not to judge the people but to attend him mercy their mercy is this right how many really wants God to mow you and make you what you need to be

[24:09] I do listen go to Proverbs 4 chapter real quick this is about father's wisdom somebody say praise the Lord I hope you get something out of this listen Proverbs 4 1 through 3 listen hear you children the instructions now I'm going over to the natural father okay hear you children the instructions of a father and attend to no understanding for I give you good doctrine forsake ye not my law for I was my father's son tender and only beloved in the sight of my mother how many remembers what brother Darryl taught on last night about being as humble as a child daddy sister flow if we don't humble ourselves as a little child listen if the natural daddy can't teach us anything then most of the time our heavenly father can't teach us anything hello

[25:32] I didn't get too many amens on that of course you got to have the spiritual daddy to instruct you amen and everybody's not that privileged that they have that so that's when you have to go to the heavenly father and seek wisdom and knowledge isn't that right brother man then then set under the shepherds your headship your shepherd then because he'll give you the spiritual guidance of you is this right brother Jesse you believe this how many believe this where you don't have your natural daddy to teach you then the older men and I believe the older women in the church come on I believe this should be able to instruct you in the spirit of the Lord I believe this strong and I believe this firm they used to teach us the!

[27:36] I'm going to try to make it right come on come on I don't claim to know it all long ways from knowing it all but I do know one thing listen real quick if you go John 14 here's here's the main part of this right now listen John 14 starts 15 first listen if ye love me keep my commandments and I will pray the father and he shall give you another comforter that ye may abide that he may abide with you forever comforter the mighty peace come on we're talking about the counselor the mighty God the prince of peace the comforter of the holy ghost but you know what we have to allow to do it come on even the spirit of the truth whom the world cannot receive because it seemeth him not neither nor him but ye know him for he dwelleth with you and shall be in you come he's got him listen

[29:02] I will not leave you comfortless I will come to you after you receive the holy ghost you shall receive power how many believes we're supposed to have peace in our souls today listen yet a little while and the world seeeth me no more but ye see me because I live ye shall live also at that day ye shall know that I am in my father and ye in me and I in you he that hath my commandments and keep of them for it is that loveth me and he that loveth me shall be loved of my father and I will love him and will manifest myself to him hello listen if you want to work for the Lord in the spirit

[30:03] I believe sister Floella we got to do the same thing in the flesh if you're able please don't take it wrong if but see if we're able brother D but how many knows I'm telling the truth there's a we're our spoiled lazy generation lot of us listen I'm going to tell you something not only in the natural but a whole lot of us don't want to pray a whole lot of us don't want to fast a whole lot of us don't want to come to church come on a whole lot of us want to depend on somebody else that carries in the spirit the same as the natural boy I'm getting in trouble the devil can put a lazy spirit on each and every one of us come on but if you want God listen if you want God to move for you he said if you'll love me you'll keep my commandments so if we want God to bring us out of the desert come on if we would start realizing that he is our everlasting father he's our counselor our mighty God the prince of peace and we'll really listen

[31:41] Paul said in the Bible I quoted this I don't remember where it's at I keep my flesh here's the thing we act like we don't have no control thanks to the fat over our flesh but we do the Lord said I won't tempt you above that which you're able come on so a lot of times we want to blame God because we're tempted and we fall into that snare of the devil or if I don't blame God I'll just blame you it's your fault it's brother Darrell's fault the preacher all the ministers it's their fault but I choose I choose Paul said I keep my body under suggestion of the Holy Ghost we have control of what we do in this life boy that's quieting her now brother D

[32:46] I could decide if I want to get up in the morning or go to bed in the morning come on we have a self will and that's what's wrong with us we got too much of a self will and we don't want to deny ourself oh no no no no I'm not going to deny this flesh and take up my cross and follow him so you know what if I don't seek God he's going to set out a snare because listen he's on the job and he I heard somebody say I don't want to do it he's out to get us think of Sister Connie a while ago but here's the thing we can't just lift him up brother Van in the house of the Lord a while ago I heard that when Sister Connie's out here I heard the Spirit the Lord saying a while ago if you will lift up my blood over your doorpost a plague will not come now you that's why I heard the Spirit of the Lord if you if you don't wonder why I was quite a while ago sometimes the Lord talks to me and shows me things and I failed

[33:56] I failed to tell it I really do that's why I'm in trouble the Lord has given me a whole lot of things lately since my ankle's been broke to tell people and I'm fighting I'm having a battle I mean I really am I need your prayers because I keep saying why me Lord why do I have to be the one but it's a serious we're living in a serious time and the Bible said listen the Bible said faith without works is dead and works without faith is dead and if you really want to do something for God the Lord said I'll give you the desires of your heart so if you really want to do something for God God will open up the door and He'll make a way for you to do it if you'll just step into it but you got to quit depending on everybody else and get in that that relationship with the Lord for yourself how many knows we don't pray enough we don't listen brother Van about a few weeks ago

[35:04] I didn't get up and tell it but the Lord really really started stirring my soul again because of the tax that we're under at Riverside come on how many knows the Bible said these things come out only by fasting and praying we're under attack of the devil come on if you ain't then come and pray for me honey because I need it but listen He is greater than our situation and the Spirit of the Lord spoke to me and said you know what the problem is y'all quit fasting now you can like it or you can not He said we're too listen we're too touch and agree on one thing now I'm talking about fasting and getting you a prayer partner and I'm talking about really touching and agreeing brother D it shall be done I don't mean call up the phone and say hey did you see so and so out there what they was doing the other day but I'm talking about getting back in the prayer life that we need to be in come on begin to walk together honey let me tell you something sister Lisa the devil has to tremble at the blood that's what it just said but I'm guilty and I know you're guilty come on we don't pray like we need to we don't fast like we need to we don't read the word like we need to we depend on somebody else to carry us and bring it to us

[36:34] I don't have time I got time to go to Walmart I don't have time we got time to watch those nasty filthy movies and the salt force operas that you're watching I don't have time well we got time to sit and play those video games and we got time for everything else I'm gonna tell you something folks if we don't get down to business with God we're gonna miss it the devil has got every kind of snare and trap set for us but we say oh listen we're ready they sung that song lift him up higher to tear down the kingdom we got to go higher in the spirit of the Lord to tear down the kingdom amen we can't do it in ourselves brother D we can't back up the devil in our flesh hello you got we got to do it through the Lord but God is a counselor he's a mighty God he's the prince of peace everything that we need God owns it he's got it and he'll make a way for you if you love him and keep his commandments but whatever you do take instruction that's the whole that's it that's the whole bottom line let me tell you something we need morals we need

[37:55] I heard brother Daryl say stand up soldiers we need soldiers that's gonna stand up for the truth we need standards back in the church hello I need to hush cause I I need to hush we wonder what's wrong with our generation are we planting the seed are we just saying okay go on out here I asked somebody one day I said what happened what happened brother Van when it used to be things used to be fornication don't say that no more in the church what happened to that word adultery don't say that word no more God ain't took it out of the word yet it's swooping what it is your hormones is in overdrive and you think you're in love and it ain't love you got it let me tell you something if you will seek God and put him first and that's why I wish

[39:08] Kevin and you young men get in God and they already know it God will send you your helpmate that ain't going to do good quite in here God when you get on get growing in God listen brother Chuck and Jesse I wish Kevin everything when you get going for God look out and don't think he has a respect the person cause he don't you can go out here sister Amber could go out here in her 80's and a man could look upon her I need to hush am I telling the truth sister Floella less demons don't have no respect the person why are you talking like this I don't know I don't know why but I'm telling you the 6th day of July and I know it don't always happen I know there's times so don't take this wrong but I praise God I don't thank God enough for my companions yes we've had some rough times we've had some hard times but 6th day of July if nothing happens 47 years and no it ain't been a bed of roses 47 years mamma and them separated

[40:26] I mean has celebrated 50 some years and you know what when I go out in public and I tell somebody brother man I've been married since I was 15 they say to the same man you can laugh about it if you want to but it's the truth brother D you mean you got the same husband the devil's biggest tool the devil's biggest tool like I said it don't always work out but how many know that's the devil's biggest tool that he's got today listen it's just like here's the thing if you got true love with Jesus you're gonna stay in love with him is this right and Chuck listen son when I told him I hope you heard me God said after nine years you finally gained the title now this is what the spirit Lord said son so don't mess up that you finally for the first father day now he's my son-in-law but I'm telling you
