[0:00] Psalms 119 verse 11 says thy word have I hid in mine heart that I might not sin against thee hallelujah you know a lot of people are wondering why they have problems a lot of times we have problems because we don't have the word of God and the way that we get the word of God is by studying the word tells us study to show yourselves approved unto God a workman that needeth not to be ashamed rightly dividing the word of truth so we have to get it for ourself you know a lot of times we depend on other people to tell us the word of God many times the only word of God that we get is what we hear read when a preacher priests at church and then half the time we're not reading along with him but we can't depend on somebody else to give it to us we have to get it for ourself and the reason we have to get it for ourself is because there's going to come a time in our life that there's going to be a storm blowing and we're going to have brother so-and-so from the first church coming to preach and tell us just exactly what's going on we got to know it for ourself if you don't know it for yourself that's where the problem comes in hallelujah so we got to have the word of God hidden in our hearts to help us to make it through in the time of our storm now the reason we got to have it to feed us and to give us light if we don't have the light of the word of God shining in our life then we're pretty miserable person but what happens is the storm comes and when the storm comes you got to have a set of guidelines to go by everybody remember when you were a kid you went to school the big buzzer go off all right tornado drill everybody go out on sit down put your knees between your knees between your head and head between your knees however you want to put it put your head between your knees and take your arms cover up your head because we're having a tornado drill and this is what we're going to do if the storm comes but the word of God gives us a set of guidelines to go by when the storm comes if we have the word of God hidden in our heart then we know what to do when the enemy comes and blows against us he's not going to be able to tear us down because we know what the word of God has to say about the situation hallelujah proverbs chapter 18 verse 10 told you this ain't going to take long ain't going to take long proverbs 18 and 10 so we got to have a set of guidelines to follow in our spiritual storm just like we do in a natural storm proverbs 18 says 18 and 10 the name of the Lord is a strong tower the righteous runneth into it and are safe we got to find a place of safety in our storms and one thing that's for sure if we'll begin to call on the name of Jesus when we're in our storms the word of God tells us the name of the
[3:21] Lord is a strong tower where the righteous run in and are safe if we'll begin to call his name and plead his blood lift up his name over the situation that we're in then things are going to begin to calm down because you see what we do is we look at our spiritual storms through our natural eyes and when we look at our spiritual storms through our natural eyes we get scared to death but if we begin to lift up his name over the situation we begin to see things in the way that he sees them then we realize that the word of God tells us in Romans 8 28 for all things work together for good to them that love the Lord to them who are called according to his purpose so if everything's going to work together for good then the storm that I'm going through right now is for my good it don't look good to me it don't feel good to me it hurts my flesh but you know the biggest cause of our spiritual storms you know what causes thunder and lightning that's when two opposing forces come into contact when our spiritual man begins to have war with our carnal man then we get a storm going and we get scared to death because we're afraid that our carnal man is going to die but the thing of it is our carnal man does have to die in order for us to have life in Christ we have to die to our carnal fleshly man and so it's up to us we got to find that place in him find that place of safety in the storm got to acknowledge and lift up the name of Jesus hallelujah Mark chapter 4 verse 35
[5:04] Mark chapter 4 verse 35 says here and the same day when the even was come he saith unto them let us pass over unto the other side and when they had set away the multitudes they took him even as he was in the ship and there were also with him other little ships and there arose a great storm of wind and the waves beat into the ship so that it was now full and he was in the hinder part of the ship asleep on a pillow and they awake him and say unto him master carest not that we perish and he arose and rebuked the wind and said unto the sea peace be still and the wind ceased and there was a great calm and he said unto them why are you so fearful how is it that you have no faith and they feared exceedingly and said one to another what manner of man is this that even the wind and the seas obey him now the key to the whole story right there is the first verse verse 35 and the same day when the evening was come he saith unto him unto them let us pass over to the other side hallelujah the same man who was healing the blind and causing the lame to walk said let's go over to the other side there isn't anything else that's going to happen he said it we're going over to the other side he said it and that's the way it is but see what happened was they get in the ship and they go over and he's already said it you know we're going over to the other side so what's he do he finds him a comfortable place and he lays down and he's going to rest because he's got something to do when he gets to the other side but as they're going over then there rises up a storm and the waves are beating and they're on the ship and they're coming in and the ship's about full and it's ready to sink but he had already said let's pass over to the other side it didn't matter what the situation looked like that they were in because he had already said it it was going to come to pass and so what happened was they got scared oh Jesus wake up you know it's storming man the boat's full of water we're going to sink we're going to die so he got up and he spoke peace be still winds calm the waves calm why is it that you don't have any faith they've already seen him work miracles and he's already told them we're going over to the other side why'd you get upset all it is is a little tempest to blow you know we're like the disciples it's a small storm but we look at it through our fleshly eyes and all we see is the possibility of shipwreck we think that we can look out for ourselves better than God can look out for us okay God
[8:43] I know that I'm supposed to be trusting and you and I'm supposed to be believing what you're saying but I don't see it that's it we don't see it sometimes we're not supposed to see it hallelujah we got to come to the place where that all we want to do is just please God where nothing else matters but here's a question I've got for you tonight do you rely on your own ability tonight a lot of times yeah let me see how I can figure out how to work this out do we look for man's approval yeah a lot of times that's why we fix our hair up wear our nice clothes because we're looking for somebody to approve of us to approve of the way we look a lot of times we act the way we act because we're looking for somebody to approve of what we're doing when in reality if we'll get ourselves in line with what the word of God says it doesn't matter what other people think about us because when we line up to what the word of God says about us and whenever we allow his anointing to come on us
[10:13] God's spirit will lift us up above the clouds and the storms that we're going through and he's going to allow us to see the other side that it doesn't matter how weak we are in this flesh but when we lean on his spirit then as the word says thy strength is made perfect in weakness when we can't do it that's the opportunity for him to do it hallelujah a lot of people jump ship whenever the going gets tough I just won't go back and a lot of times we put our faith in a way and we make our lives into our own little shipwreck all we had to do was sit still and wait for God to work things out but we decided to try and fix it ourself many times when we try and fix things ourself we make it a worse mess and so what we have to do is we got to just trust in him first Timothy chapter 1 and verse 18 said this ain't gonna take very long
[11:35] I'm not a long winded preacher unless you give me a blackboard and a piece of chocolate and then I can go to town hallelujah first Timothy chapter 1 verse 18 says this charge I commit unto thee son Timothy according to the prophecies which went before on thee that thou by them mightest war a good warfare holding faith in a good conscience which some having put away concerning faith what they do have made shipwreck of whom Hymenaeus and Alexander whom I have delivered unto Satan that they may learn not to blaspheme now Hymenaeus and Paul decided that things weren't going the way they wanted to so they left brother Paul and decided they were gonna go back hey brother this way is too hard we ain't gonna we ain't gonna do it no more and then we go on 2nd Timothy chapter 2 and verse 16 2nd Timothy 2 16 says now here this
[13:29] Hymenaeus is again Paul already mentioned him in 1st Timothy and here he is mentioned him again and now he's gone from believing the truth and working with Paul to working against Paul and preaching something that's not right you know a lot of times folks will go from being in the faith and the trials get a little too rough and they'll try and find another way to go but once the truth has been revealed it's hard to walk any place else hallelujah so sometimes we can put away our faith and make our lives a total shipwreck we don't believe the word that we've heard and we allow the enemy to begin to shake our confidence then when we go through the storm what are we going to do because we don't know whether to believe what the word of God said or whether to believe it you know what happened to brother Jonah
[14:42] God told him to go preach to Nineveh and he decided he didn't want to do that I'm going to go some other way I'm going the opposite direction so he goes and he jumps on a boat and he's heading the opposite direction the boat gets in the storm and here they are what do they start doing man they're throwing everything off of that boat that they can throw off yeah sometimes that's the way God does us sometimes he puts us in the boat so we can throw some things overboard a lot of times we carry around a lot of junk that we don't need and so he allows some things to come our way to allow us to throw some things overboard and then finally we get to the place okay it ain't working the storm ain't going well how'd they finally get the storm to stop oh Jonah had to finally fess up it's me so they took
[15:43] Jonah and they threw him overboard sometimes spiritually that's what we need to do we just need to throw this old fleshly man overboard and say okay God you take me and you put me where you want me to do you teach me the things that you want me to learn and allow me to go to the place that you want me to be at and here's the thing God will bring us out of this thing and he'll put us in the place that he wants us to be and he's going to allow people to be drawn to us because of the things that we've had to go through sister Belinda and I used to years ago people would call us you know we've always we've been here for a while and people who were having problems we would go and we would try and talk to them and you know comfort them when they're going through the things and you know marital problems and all these different things we'd talk to them and well you know it's everything is going to be okay and we didn't have a clue what we were even talking about but we're trying to help that's one of those things we go and we try and help we get in the car and leave and we're going home I don't understand how in the world God's going to ever be able to do anything with that
[16:58] I'll see how in the world God can have anything to do with this stuff I know one thing if you ever did this and if I ever did that and you know we'd talk all the way on but there ain't no way that it's going to happen wasn't too long after that we had our problems okay God I've been through this place and now I know what it's like you can't minister to somebody about something that you haven't experienced a lot of people can talk the talk but they can't walk the walk hey I can talk to somebody that's had drug problems I've had them I can talk to somebody that's had a problem with alcohol I've had them that's what God does he brings us through the storm to strengthen us to prove us and to make sure that we're going to hang in there when the going gets tough because a lot of people will quit when the going gets tough they don't want to they don't want to stay in there for the hard stuff it's easy to come in here for the shout and for the jumping up and down but it don't matter how high that you can jump it's how straight you're going to walk when you hit the ground and that's the thing I see with a lot of folks they get the the glory of it but they don't want the crucifixion of it but you can't have the crucifixion have the glory without having the crucifixion hallelujah if
[18:26] Jesus had never hung on that cross and died and and gave his life's blood for us the resurrection never would have taken place hallelujah so we got to get ourselves to that point where we're trusting Jesus no matter what what we got to do is we have to be learn to be happy where we're at in whatever situation we are to be content allow God just to use us to teach us something and to show us just what he wants us to do so he'll allow people to come to us so that we can use the anointing that we've gained in the valley and so you know a lot of times we get upset when things don't go the way we want them to so but we got to learn to be satisfied with that so you know it must have been really important for
[19:31] Jonah to go to Nineveh for him to go through all those things just to get back there it must be pretty important for us to walk in the place that God's called us to for us to have to go through the things that we go through to get us to that place things don't look good sometimes but if we trust in him and here's the thing we can live in whatever kind of world that we want to live in we can live in a satanic realm you know what that is that's where you give evil for good you know it doesn't matter what in the world you do the devil is always going to give you evil for what you do good and then there's the natural humanly realm that a lot of people live in most of the church lives in this you treat me right I'm gonna treat you right you don't treat me right you just see how much hell you're gonna get and then there's a heavenly realm where no matter what anybody does you give them good what kind of life you want to live what kind of a atmosphere do you want to create for you to live in it's up to you you know sometimes we question why we have to endure the things that we have to go through and here's the thing people can try to destroy us but one thing about it they can't touch our soul and they can't touch our spirit unless we allow them to there was a little thing in the bulletin this month one line said he who angers you controls you if you've got somebody that just makes you man enjoy it because they have control over you if you don't want them to have control over you don't let them make you man learn to deal with your flesh learn to deal with your spirit and just one more thing i'll say before i turn it back over brother van you might not be able to see him in your storm but he's there no matter what the situation is the disciples were on a boat out in the middle of galilee one night and the waves were rolling and lightning flashing and all of a sudden jesus came out walking to them on top of the water come walking out some thought it was a ghost but then i said no it looks like jesus peter called out to him lord if it be you bid me to come unto thee jesus said one word come peter jumped out of the boat all the rest of the disciples had the same opportunity but they chose to stay in the boat sometimes we need to take a chance jump out of the boat and go for a walk with jesus through our storm hallelujah god bless you all you are awesome in this place mighty god you are awesome in this place ever father as we come before you face you are awesome in this place mighty god you are awesome in this place ever father as we come before you face to our lives we raise you are awesome in this place mighty god oh you are awesome in this place mighty god oh you are awesome in this place mighty god
[23:47] oh well just stand up as we lead tonight you are awesome in this place mighty god oh well just stand up as we lead tonight Why don't we all just stand up as we leave tonight?

[24:29] You are worthy of our praise, and to you our lives be raised. You are awesome in this place, mighty God.
[24:43] Hallelujah. Let's all just bow our heads and go to the Lord in prayer. Lord Jesus, we thank you for your word tonight. Lord God, it's precious. Hallelujah. More precious, more to be desired than gold, your word says.
[24:55] Amen. Ask you, Lord God, to let this word take root down in our hearts and our souls and our spirits. Lord God, and let it begin to shoot up, Lord, and begin to bear forth fruit.
[25:06] Lord God, as we go from this place tonight, ask you, Lord God, to continue, Lord, through the remainder of this week. Lord, just open up the windows of heaven. I'm proud of your spirit, Lord God. I want you to have this church to do, I want you to have us to be.
[25:17] We're yours, Lord, in everything that we have. In Jesus' name, amen. Amen.
