[13:31] And I want to tell you something. You don't get in the presence of God without feeling nervous. I read all through the Word of God when you get in the presence.

[13:42] Some men fell as dead men. Because they didn't know how to stand in His presence. And He is in the house tonight. Somebody's going to get healed tonight.

[13:55] Do you believe that? I want you to stand with me. We're going to have a devil-killing service tonight. And I need some helpers.

[14:10] Anybody want to be a part of something like that? Luke chapter 11. Would you turn there with me tonight? I have stood on stage with about every gospel singer there is in the business, contemporary and southern gospel.

[14:28] And my favorite singer is Lyle Hampton. There ain't nobody sings a song like Lyle. You give him a hand.

[14:40] Come on. He's not good at cutting tree limbs off. Told me last night he cut a limb off and it was the limb he was standing on.

[14:58] So loudest dick was singing. Luke chapter 11. If you found it, say amen. If you're not looking, say amen.

[15:12] We're going to go on without you. Verse number 14. And he was casting out a devil. You don't hear much about that anymore. And he was casting out a devil and it was dumb.

[15:26] And it came to pass when the devil was gone out, the dumb spake and the people wondered. But some of them said, He casteth out devils through Beelzebub, the chief of devils.

[15:41] And others tempting him, sought of him a sign from heaven. But he knowing their thoughts. How many know that Jesus knows your thoughts? Amen.

[15:53] Said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation. And a house divided against a house falleth. If Satan also be divided against himself, how shall his kingdom stand?

[16:10] Because ye say that I cast out devils through Beelzebub. And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your sons cast them out? Hmm.

[16:21] Hmm. Therefore shall they be your judges. But if I with the finger of God cast out devils, no doubt the kingdom of God is come upon you.

[16:34] Notice these two verses. Verse 21. When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace. Verse 22.

[16:44] But when a stronger than the strong man, when a stronger than the strong man shall come upon him, and he shall overcome him, he taketh from him all his armor, wherein he trusted, and divideth his spoil.

[17:02] Now I want you to turn with me to the book of Genesis, chapter number 3, and verse number 15. Verse 15. Genesis 3 and 15.

[17:17] And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed. And it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

[17:31] And I want you to turn with me to the book of Hebrews, chapter number 2, verse number 14. For as much then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same, that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil.

[18:00] Father, in the name of Jesus, I come to you tonight. I thank you for the songs, and I thank you for the joy that we have displayed.

[18:11] I thank you for Brother Van. God, he's atop of my list too. And I thank you for what he's done in this church, and God, these people are not ashamed of you.

[18:22] And I thank you for these visitors that are here tonight, and I'm glad that we could come together, God, in one mind and in one accord and forget about what we are for a few minutes and focus on you.

[18:35] I'm asking you, God, to stand up in me and help me to say what you would say if you were here. God, rock this place tonight. Let us know that he is under our feet, that we have authority in the name of Jesus Christ, that greater is he that is in us than he that is in the world.

[18:56] God, touch your people tonight. Let's heal and save and set free. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen and amen. I want to preach a simple message tonight entitled Stronger Than the Strong Man.

[19:16] Stronger Than the Strong Man. Did you notice what I said? Verse number 21 and number 22. When a strong man armed keepeth his palace, his goods are in peace, but when a stronger than he shall come upon him and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armor wherein he trusted and divideth his spoil.

[19:47] Jesus was casting out devils. He did that pretty frequently. He never met a devil he couldn't handle. Come on. He never met a demon-possessed man that he had to turn over to somebody else.

[20:01] The devils would cry when he got into his presence. They would say things like this, Have you come to torment us before our time? One man had so many demons in him.

[20:12] We was talking about it, Kathy and I, the other night. He had so many devils in him that Jesus called him legion. And the devils begged Jesus, said, Would you let us go in the swine?

[20:24] And there were so many demons that they ran in these swine and the swine couldn't handle them and ran into a river. Now this man had all of those demons in him, but Jesus set him free.

[20:38] And the next thing we see is this man clothed and in his right mind sitting at the feet of Jesus Christ. So you see, it was not a new thing for Jesus to cast out the devils.

[20:49] But every time Jesus would minister, they would come to watch him to see what he would do. The scribes came and the Pharisees came and the believers came and the non-believers came and they gathered around him to see what the master would do.

[21:04] So it was on this day and when they saw him cast out the devil of a man that was dumb and the man began to speak and hear, they began to throw comments to Jesus.

[21:15] One man in the crowd said, he cast out devils by Beelzebub, who was the chief devil. Then another man said, hey, said show us some more miracles.

[21:26] Somebody always needs a little bit more. Come on. It's never enough for them. They've got to have just a little bit more to believe. Thomas saw him standing there.

[21:36] He had just walked through the wall and he wouldn't believe until he touched the scars. Somebody's always looking for a little more. But Jesus didn't call a sign down out of heaven. He didn't perform some other miracle.

[21:49] He just said, hey, he said it's your sons that cast out devils by Beelzebub. He just turned the thing around on them. But he said, I want you, since you brought the subject up of the devil, since you want to talk about your father, the devil, I just want to tell you something about him.

[22:05] He is a strong man and he has a palace and he is armed. But when a stronger than the strong man comes, he will tear his kingdom apart, take away the armor and wherein he trusted and divide his good.

[22:20] That's what Jesus said to this group of people and left them confounded and their mouth hanging open. They didn't know what in the world to say. I want us tonight to look at this stronger than the strong man.

[22:33] I read the scripture in Genesis chapter three in verse number 15. Right after the fall of man, Adam and Eve had everything they would ever want in the Garden of Eden. God said, you can have it all.

[22:44] It's yours. It's at your command. It's at your disposal. There's one thing you can't do. And when the devil heard that, that's the thing he attacked them with. He said, did God say that you couldn't do this or that?

[22:57] The reason God don't want you to do that is because you'll become as gods and you'll know good and evil as he does. And the devil tempted them and they fell to temptation. But that was not the rest of the story as Paul Harvey said.

[23:09] There was more to the story. Well, you see, God came down in the cool of the day hollering for Adam and said, Adam, we used to walk here every day. What happened to you, man? Where are you, Adam?

[23:20] And Adam said, I'm hiding. And God said, what are you hiding from, God? Have you had, he said, what are you hiding from? And Adam said, you know, he was kind of quiet and God said, have you done that which I commanded you not to do?

[23:32] Come on now. And here come Adam wearing his little fig leaf outfit. So God said, we need to call a business meeting here and take care of some business.

[23:44] First of all, you're going to be ran out of the garden. He goes and he kills probably a lamb. He kills an animal and takes the skin and covers them because they saw that they were naked.

[23:56] And then he tells the ground, he said, you're going to be cursed and you'll bring forth thorns and thistles. And he told the woman that she would suffer through childbearing and on and on.

[24:06] But then he didn't let the devil go. He said, I got something I want to share with you. So he turns around and no doubt looks old Lucifer right in the face and he makes a promise to him.

[24:18] He said, there's coming a seed. It is the seed of the woman and you will bruise his heel but he will bruise your head. I want to tell you something ladies and gentlemen.

[24:29] When that proclamation was made, the devil became a little bit nervous. Come on. He started taking nerve pills that day because he realized that something had just been said that was going to rock his kingdom.

[24:43] Well, it didn't happen right away but down through time prophet after prophet would come along and they would begin to prophesy. Moses one day was talking to the people.

[24:54] The people were complaining because the spirit had come down but Moses said, hey, let me tell you something. There's a prophet coming after me and when he comes he said, him will you hear speaking of that seed and I know that when Moses said that the devil got a little bit nervous because he knew that he was talking about him one more time.

[25:16] Come on now. Then another prophet would rise up like Isaiah and say that he will be bruised for our iniquity. The chastisement of our peace will be upon him and by his stripes you will be healed.

[25:29] And one more time the devil had him a little nervous fit. Come on. Time would pass by then another prophet would stand up and prophesy and the devil would get just a little bit nervous again.

[25:41] But you see God would let him go just a little period of time. How many knows that God has a time for everything? A prophecy would come forth and then it would kind of settle down a little bit and then another prophet would prophesy and things would kind of settle down a little bit and then between Malachi and Matthew there was a church age that was cold and indifferent and all they did was they were ritualistic and formalistic and there wasn't much going on and I'm sure the devil says well they must have forgot about that prophecy.

[26:18] They must have forgot about what was said and he maybe got a little brave and kind of raised his head a little more and shrutted a little bit more but oh you're listening to me tonight but about the time he thought that they might have forgot about it there were some shepherds out in a field and there was a little virgin girl that had just got a message from Gabriel and Gabriel said honey you're pregnant and Joseph started about putting you away but don't worry about that because you're pregnant of the Holy Ghost this seed that you're carrying is a holy seed and then the angel went to Joseph and said you can't name him after your brother and you can't name him after yourself and you can't name him after your great grandpa he's got a special name that he has to have come on now hey and then that night in the shepherd's field the angels began to sing to the shepherd and said at this night a child is born a savior is given come on now and when this happened

[27:20] Satan just about really had a heart attack because he has come and the devil set in to get rid of him after Jesus was born through Herod satanic powers being displayed saying I'm going to kill every baby until I find him Satan don't know everything because if he had known everything he'd have known right where to go to find him don't that make you feel better sometimes you need to keep your mouth shut because if you don't tell him he might not know oh this is my weak spot well shut up about it and Herod sent men out and killed all of these babies but the

[28:29] Holy Ghost directed Mary and Joseph where to take the child but Satan didn't give up he followed him everywhere he went when he was out in the wilderness being fasted and being tempted of the devil I want you to look what Satan's doing to him Satan says if you are the son of God fasted 40 days if you are the son of God turn these stones into bread you tell me he couldn't have turned them into bread the man that flung the stars into the sky the man that scooped down got a handful of dirt and made a man out of it come on the man that hung the earth out in an empty space you tell me he couldn't have spoke to a few rocks and turned it into bread but he did something that you and I need to learn he stopped right there and instead of fussing and fighting with the devil he pulled out the weapon of the word he pulled out his sword of the word and he said shoo and he said it is written man shall not live by bread alone and he sliced him and the devil stepped back and came to him again took him to a high place and said if you'll fall down and worship me

[29:53] I'll give you all of this could not Jesus Christ have preached a sermon there what are you talking about give that to me it's already mine I beheld you as you fell as lightning to the earth I was there when you was cast out I was there when you was created a song leader in the heavenlies I was there I stood my God what do you mean give it to me it's already mine you don't have anything to give other than what's been given to you now if it had been you and I that's exactly what we would have told him we would have what as the old saying goes give him a head full but you know what he did you didn't know he was getting an evangelist with sound effects that's the sword coming out one more time he said thou shall worship the Lord thy God and him only shalt thou serve and the devil stepped back come on then he took him to a place and said jump off of here if you really are who you say you are the angels will come down and bear thee up lest thou that used a little scripture again you know he used part of the scripture and he said jump off of here and the angels will bear you up if you really are who you say you are oh come on now what do you mean pulled it out again sliced him again he didn't put a Z on him he put a big J on him sliced he up three times he left him for a season come on but he didn't leave him forever he just left him for a season he followed him everywhere he went every time he would preach there would be some hard head there trying to trick him and trap him in his teaching there would be somebody there that would try to cross him up with the law but I want to tell you the

[32:19] Bible said there was tests that the devil tried to throw on him then came that time he was facing Mount Calvary they led him to the trial led him to Mount Calvary nailed him to a cross and the soldier walking around under the cross shaking his head Satan speaking through him one more time here he is again if you're really the son of God you know the devil uses psychology now it works on a child sometimes but it don't work on Jesus I'm sorry to tell you but the devil tried to use psychology on him again some of you had psychology used on you when you were in school and you lost some teeth over it if you're really as tough as

[33:20] I heard you was you knocked the stick off of my shoulder it worked on you but it didn't work on Jesus because there was a lot at stake the soldier said if you're the son of God come down off of that cross you tell me he couldn't have come down off of that cross he had just told Peter put the sword up I could call 12 legions of angels to come and deliver me you know I'm not in a tight spot here everything's okay everything's going like it's supposed to this is the reason I came I didn't come to live but I came to die I didn't come to make a name for myself but I came to give you a name praise God that's higher than any other name hallelujah sure he could have come down off of that cross but he didn't come to come down he come to go to the cross you think the devil's going to stop here he is hanging on the cross one of the thieves on the other side looks over and says if you're who you say you are here's the devil talking again sounds like that same devil that said jump off of there come on saying if you really are who you say you are save yourself and us with you what the devil was actually doing was on his knees saying please come off of that cross

[35:00] I heard about what was going to happen back there in the garden but please come off of that cross this is his last attempt this is his final attempt something is about to happen that he don't want!

[35:17] Please come down off of that cross but he died he said it is finished and he gave up the ghost!

[35:41] Woo hoo! Woo woo! And when he said it is finished and he bowed his head they took him off of the cross and laid him in a borrowed tomb they laid him in a borrowed tomb cause they knew he wasn't gonna need it very long why should they go buy a tomb pay a large bunch of money for it when Mary said I believe in what my boy said destroy this temple and in three days I will raise it up again hallelujah we don't need to buy one let's just borrow!

[36:20] Oh boys check around town and see if there's anybody that's got a tomb they bought and paid for tell them we want to borrow three days so they took him and laid him in the tomb and all over town the talk was Jesus is dead the disciples went into hiding his mother was weeping the place was torn apart I can imagine the streets of Jerusalem were empty there was sadness in the city there was fear in the city I can just see those Romans as they would march down the street as if to say we did what we accomplished to do I can just see those old Pharisees as they got together in their dry ritualistic services and say everything's back to normal now I want to tell you it's not going to stay normal very long I feel sorry for people that have normal services!

[37:20] Hey it's 7 o'clock they're praying now well it's 7.30 they're singing three songs praying and they're about to read the little my God are you with me tonight when Jesus is around nothing is normal!

[37:37] things are back to normal now but he wasn't dead one sense of word he just went on a three day revival!

[37:53] the Bible said that when he ascended he went to the spirits in prison those that were in paradise oh anybody know anything about the paradise of that time that's where the beggar went when he died that's where Simeon went when he died can I tell you about Simeon can you imagine what the devil did when Simeon made the request please God don't let me die until I can touch him let me live to see the Messiah and God spoke to him and said Simeon I'm going to grant you request come on I can just see old Simeon there in the temple when somebody comes walking through the door and I have to believe he must!

[38:42] Simeon said hey there is something going on in the church today and they brought Jesus and laid him in the arms of Simeon he said mine eyes have seen hey hallelujah he is here if you don't care I want to get just a little bit dramatic after Tim Simeon got to hold him and touch him and see him he died and he went to paradise can you imagine what was going on in paradise ever since all of these prophets had died and went to paradise somebody say have you seen him yet I haven't seen him yet but the holy ghost moved on me Isaiah would say and I know he's!

[39:38] coming David would say! I know he's coming but finally Jay one day Simeon walked down the halls to paradise and when he walked in the room they said have you seen him yet Simeon said he's here I saw him with my eyes the redeemer is alive somebody praise him in this house tonight I said somebody praise him in this place tonight they would die one by one have you seen him oh yeah I saw him I saw him what was he doing well last time I saw him he was down in the temple 12 year old boy preaching to him then another old saint would die did you see him yes

[40:45] I saw him what's he doing now oh he's just come on the scene well he's preaching like nobody's business man when he has revival they come for the miles around to hear him preach finally another fellow walked down the halls of paradise have you seen Jesus and this man said yes he's my best friend my sisters fixed dinner for him he comes over to the house and we have a good time together tell me a little bit more about him oh I saw him heal the blinded eyes I saw him say to the cripple get up and walk I saw him one day he said to the lepers be cleansed tell us Lazarus Lazarus and he says boys I'd like to stay and talk with you but he's calling for me and I gotta get out of here that's alright and on and on they came down through the halls then finally they hear somebody coming down the hall and in through the door steps the man he says

[42:17] I've come to preach to you some of y'all don't think it's the scripture I ain't gonna tell you where it's at go home and find it it's in the book he said I've come to preach I've come to let you know I'm here and the bible said not only did he descend but he ascended and lived captivity captive so I believe after he got through preaching to him Jay he said boys just take it easy about 40 days I'll be hollering at you we'll clean this place out so for about 40 days he walked on this earth and they saw him they touched him they ate with him but then out at Bethany they watched him as the heavens opened up and a cloud came down and he stepped on the cloud and rolled back into heaven and the angel said ye men of Galilee why stand you gazing into the heaven this same Jesus whom you've seen go away he's going to come again in like manner!

[43:29] die south the reason I believe that because the apostle Paul says to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord so when your loved ones die wherever Jesus is it's where they go hallelujah and that's all good shouting stuff but that's not all that happened do you want to hear the rest of the story he said when the stronger than the strong man cometh he overthrows the strong man pulls his armor off his protection takes it off spoils his kingdom amen Jesus had to make a little stop while he was down there he walked over to where Lucifer stood and said I've come to take care of some business he's shaking in his shoes if he's wearing shoes what is it give me the keys what keys are you talking about

Now, what you may not see is that when the spirit began to move and the altar call came, one of the main ones down there praying for everybody was this daddy that had lost his daughter.
