Why We Have to Go to Hell

[0:00] Well, good spirit in here this morning. Hallelujah. Thank you, Jesus. Can anybody remember what I've been teaching on on Sunday mornings?

[0:19] Huh? I think that Robert Hill may be while we lost some people. I've been preaching on the gates, the doors.

[0:37] Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. I am the door to the sheepfold. No man comes with a father but by me. Any man try to enter in any other way, the same as a thief and a robber. The sheep know my voice that another they will not follow.

[0:48] Amen. He calls his own sheep by name, and he go up before him, and his sheep follow him. Amen. He said, I am the door to the sheepfold. And I was teaching on how that there are 12 doors to our heart.

[0:58] And these are metaphors. These are metaphors. You know your heart don't have a door. Your heart has ventricles in it, and it's just a pumping organ. But that's not what we're talking about. Into our innermost being, there are 12 gates because we are the city.

[1:13] The city has 12 gates. Amen. What kind of gates are they? What do they call them? Pearly gate. Amen. Pearly gate. Hallelujah. Hallelujah.

[1:24] And the Bible said each separate gate was of a separate pearl, and each gate had a name on it. And when you read that all in Revelation, about the new city coming down from God out of heaven, but then over in the Old Testament, in the book of Nehemiah, you find out that the old city has a name.

[1:44] Amen. It also has swell foundations and all these different things. But I want to start today, last week, I got us down to the valley of hell. Amen.

[1:57] Anybody want to go to hell? Well, after today, you will want to go to hell. I promise you, you're going to want to go to hell. Because there's a reason that you have to go there.

[2:10] And you're going to go there. You're going anyway. Amen. It all depends on how you go down. In the book of Nehemiah, the second chapter, beginning in the first verse. Now, remember that Nehemiah was a slave.

[2:26] He was a captive. He was born in Babylon. And he had never seen Jerusalem. He had never seen the walls of the city of Jerusalem. He had never seen the gates. But God gave him a burden to rebuild the walls and the gates of Jerusalem.

[2:41] Can somebody say amen? Now, what do these walls and gates represent to us spiritually? Walls and gates represent holiness. Amen. What was I preaching on last night?

[2:54] Truth has fallen in the streets. Amen. Holiness, morality, and everything has fallen in the streets. Amen. Hallelujah. Let me read this to you now. In the first verse, second chapter in the first verse.

[3:06] And it came to pass in the month of Nisan, which is the month of April, the 20th year, our taxerous, the king that wine was before him. And I took up the wine and gave it unto the king.

[3:18] Now, I had not been a four-time sad in his presence. Wherefore, the king said unto me, why is that countenance sad? You've got to realize this king, he was a great king. And the children of Israel were in captivity because they had rebelled against God.

[3:34] But believe it or not, a lot of times God didn't put them in bad captivity. That the king actually learned to love these people. And when you see what God moves upon this king to allow him to do for Nehemiah, then you can understand.

[3:49] Amen. And the king saw one of his servants, one of his captives, one of his slaves, and his face was sad. And he said, why are you sad? Isn't that something that a king would even care? Why one of his captives, his slaves were sad?

[4:02] He said, wherefore, the king said unto me, why is that countenance sad, seeing thou art not sick? He said, there's nothing else but sorrow of heart. Then was I very sore afraid, and I said unto the king, let the king live forever.

[4:17] Why should not my countenance be sad when the city, the place of my father's sepulchers, lieth waste, and the gates thereof are consumed with fire? Then said the king unto me, for what dost thou make requests?

[4:32] So I prayed to God of heaven, and I said unto the king, if it please the king, and if thy servant hath found favor in thy sight, that thou wouldst send me to Judah, unto the city of my father's sepulchers, that I may rebuild it.

[4:49] And the king said unto me, the queen also sitting with him, for how long shall thy journey be? And will will thou return? Can you imagine sending a captive out?

[4:59] This is what he said. So it pleased the king to send me, and I said him a time, how long I'd be gone. Moreover, I said unto the king, if it please the king, let the letters be given me to the governors beyond the river, that they may convey me over, till I come unto Judah.

[5:19] And a letter unto Asaph, the keeper of the king's forest, that he may give me timber, to make beams for the gates of the palace, which appertaineth to the house, and for the walls of the city, and the house that I shall enter into.

[5:33] And the king granted me, according to the good hand of my God upon me. Then I came to the governors beyond the river, and gave them the king's letters. Now the king had sent captains of the army, and horsemen with me.

[5:47] Hey, let me tell you how far he went. Anybody got any idea how far this went? Babylon to Jerusalem. 1,000 miles.

[6:01] 1,000 miles. This heathen king allowed his servant, this Hebrew, to go with letters from him, which were just as good as money, to go 1,000 miles away, to rebuild a city on his word.

[6:17] But when you're going to come back, I'll come back on a certain time. Isn't that great? Today we wouldn't trust a lot of people with $1,000 out of our sight, but it's less than somebody that's a captive or a slave.

[6:30] When Sanballat, the Horonite, and Tobiah, the servant, and the Ammonite heard it, it grieved them exceedingly that there was come a man to stand in the gap and to make up the hedge and to seek the welfare of the children of Israel.

[6:48] So I came to Jerusalem, and I was there three days. Amen? And I rose in the night. I and some few men with me, neither told I any man what my heart had, what the Lord God had put in my heart to do at Jerusalem.

[7:04] Neither was there any beast with me, save the beast that I rode upon. And I went out by night by the gate of the valley, even before the dragon will, to the dung port of view, the walls of Jerusalem, which were broken down, and the gates thereof were consumed with fire.

[7:24] Let's all pray, little Lord, in prayer. Lord Jesus, we thank you, Lord, because you are a God of mercy, a God of love, a God of forgiveness, a God of restoration. And we thank you, Lord God, because many, many times, Lord God, you have lifted us up and picked us up when we were down, Lord God, on the ash heap.

[7:41] But, Lord God, you took all of our sins and all of our grievances, Lord God, and you dealt with them, you took them away. And, Lord God, you raised us up to stand and walk before you again. In Jesus' name, Lord, bless this word this morning, and bless us, Lord, that our ears would hear.

[7:54] Bless me, Lord God, that I'd be able to convey, Lord, what your spirit was speaking unto me this morning, Lord God, that these folks that are here today may be able to understand, Lord, this little portion of your word in Jesus' name. And everybody said, Amen.

[8:06] So I came to Jerusalem 1,000 miles away, and I came to the gate of the valley. The word valley is Gehi. And it also refers to Hale's Valley.

[8:17] That's another name for it. The Gehi Valley is Hale's Valley. And here's what's so great is that you've got to learn how to rebuild the walls of holiness that have been falling down and the truth that has fallen in the street even when you're facing the gates of hell.

[8:34] Can somebody say Amen? Hallelujah. You must learn how to rebuild holiness when everybody around you is telling you that it don't matter anymore.

[8:45] It don't count anymore. We're in an age of grace. We're in an age of, you know, you're just trying to put us under bondage. And honey, I'm just trying to get you saved so that when the rapture takes place and the trumpet sounds that you'll be changed in a moment of twinkling of an eye and be caught out of here.

[9:01] Amen? Now, in Matthew 16 and 15 through 18, I'm just going to quote this to you, you know, paraphrase it. Jesus was asking Peter, he said, who do men say that I, the son of man, am?

[9:17] Peter said, all some said that thou, Isaiah, so one of the prophets, or Yahweh, Peter, but who do you say that I am? He said, thou art the Christ, the son of the living God.

[9:27] Jesus jumped up on his feet and said, blessed art thou, Simon by Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this unto thee, but thy father which is in heaven and the gates of hell shall not prevail against thee.

[9:38] Was Peter going to hell? Yes, he was. Why? Where else was he going to face the gates of hell if he didn't go to hell to face them? Stop and think about it for a minute. And the gates of hell shall not prevail against thee.

[9:51] Don't you know what you're facing every day? The gates of hell are coming against you. The forces of hell are coming against you to torment your mind, to tell you that you're not worthy and you can't make it and you're no good. Why don't you quit?

[10:02] You're just stupid. You're ignorant. Nobody cares anyway. Why? Where's that voice coming from? Coming from the gates of hell.

[10:17] Every negative thought, every negative word, a sister believer that don't like me. That's a devil, that's a spirit of demons that is coming to try to torment you. That's one of the gates of hell.

[10:28] And there's many gates that you've got to go through in hell to get all the way down to the tay home below. Amen? Man, we're going to talk about that. This, this, this, this, this, this, this, this, this thrills me.

[10:40] In Ephesians 4 and 9, we have read this many times, but it said that he that ascended, the word ascend means to go up, he that ascended first also descended. Amen?

[10:54] Where did he go, where did he descend to? He went to hell. Jesus, before he went to heaven, first he went to hell. Amen. Why did he go to hell?

[11:05] To bear our sins. Amen. Can somebody shout amen if you understand what I'm talking about? He who knew no sin became sin for us. And he took those sins and he went down to hell.

[11:17] And in hell he lifted up his voice. How long, O Lord, holy and true, will thou not avenge me? Hallelujah. He said, I saw the Lord always before me because he is at my right hand and I shall not be moved.

[11:31] And thy presence is full of joy. At thy right hand of pleasures evermore. Amen? What was he talking about? He said, even Lord, if I have to go to hell. Reminds me of that story of, what's that singer used to be with the Gaither Vocal Band?

[11:48] The one that used to be with, the last one. Mark Lowry. Yeah. Talking about when he first went out in the, in ministering and he was invited to come to this church and, and, and, and, of course he was just young, just fresh out of college and didn't have any money so he went to this church and he sang his heart out and when he got through, the pastor came over, shook his hand and said, just glad to have you.

[12:10] And that's all he got. Didn't take up no offers. Didn't give him no money. And he's driving down the road and he's got two or three dollars in his pocket and he's got a long way to go. And he said, God, I went there and I sang my heart out and I did everything I could for him and, and, and they didn't give you no money.

[12:26] I could even buy a cheeseburger. And God told him, sure beats hell and hell's what you deserve. So quit crying and complaining. Amen. Sure beats hell.

[12:37] Whatever you're going through today sure beats hell. Amen. Hallelujah. I don't care what you're going through. It sure beats hell. If we got what we deserved, if any one of us got what we deserved, we'd split hell wide open.

[12:48] So whatever God has aligned to come our way, he knows he's already made us able to stand in it. Amen. And not only standing, but the gates of hell will not stand against us because greater is he that's in me than he that's in the world.

[13:02] Sure beats hell. Yeah, I'm going through it, but it sure beats hell. Amen. Hallelujah.

[13:14] 1 Peter 3, 18 and 19. The Bible said, Jesus was put to death in the flesh and quickened by the Spirit by which also he went and he preached to the spirits in prison.

[13:28] Let me just tell you through this again. That is in 1 Peter 3, the 18th and 19th verse. The Bible said that Jesus was put to death in the flesh. Everybody say put to death in the flesh. I know you. But he was quickened in the Spirit.

[13:43] Quickened in the Spirit by which also in the Spirit he went and he preached to the spirits in prison. And when you look at this prison it was in hell.

[13:54] Amen. Psalm 24 and 7 said lift up your heads oh you gates be you lifted up.

[14:07] Listen to what it says. You everlasting. What's everlasting mean to you brother? Huh? It means one of the four eternities. Be you lifted up you everlasting doors that the King of Glory may come in.

[14:26] Who is the King of Glory? The Lord God Almighty. The Lord mighty and power and strength. He is the King of Glory. Be you lifted up. You know what? Them old gates of hell.

[14:36] Amen. Begin to creak open. All those people back there before Adam after Adam and hey maybe even before Adam I don't know. This thing goes way back. This goes back to the prehistoric times even up to Adam and he began to preach.

[14:49] Amen. And he preached to those departed spirits in prison. And not only that he also went down. What did he tell the dying thief on the cross? The Bible said the song says the dying thief rejoiced to see Jesus on that day and there may I go by the sea wash all my sins away.

[15:04] Amen. Amen. What happened? He went down. The thief said remember me when you come into your kingdom and Jesus told that thief today I'm coming into my kingdom.

[15:22] Today you're going to be with me in paradise. What was paradise? Before Jesus died and ascended into heaven nobody went to heaven.

[15:34] They went to a place called paradise and paradise it was another name for it is death. They were in death. But they weren't in hell. And there was a separate compartment that separated death and hell.

[15:46] That's why the rich man when he died he looked up and he saw Lazarus in Abraham's bosom. Amen. He could see over and they could see down there. Rich man is tormented in the flame. Amen. But what happened when Jesus descended he went down and he led captivity to captivity.

[16:00] Those that the devil had the keys to death and hell in the grave. Amen. Now what is Jesus' testimony in Revelation 1.18? I am him that was dead and am alive forevermore and I had the key to death and hell.

[16:15] What did he tell Peter? He said Blessed art thou Simon Barjona for flesh and blood has not revealed the Son to thee but thy Father which is in heaven and the gates of hell shall not prevail against thee.

[16:26] I'm going to give you the keys to the kingdom. Whatsoever you bind on earth be bound in heaven. Whatsoever you loose on earth be loosed in heaven. He went on even further than this. He said the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

[16:40] Amen. Hey he said any sick among you listen listen to what you can do with the keys. Any sick among you let them call upon the Lord. Let them call upon the elders and let them unorn with oil in the name of the Lord and the prayer of faith shall save the sick and the Lord shall raise them up and if they have committed any sin it shall be forgiven them.

[16:56] Why? Who's got that power? The one that's got the key. Amen. The one that can unlock the mercy and the grace and the love of God. Amen. That the devil don't want you to get to. Oh shut a murder. The devil shuts you up in hell and makes your life so much hell that you're just going around bumping on bumping on the old bars of hell because you can't get out and you're so miserable and you want out so bad.

[17:16] Hallelujah. Jesus got the key but you got to call on him. You got to cry. You got to get desperate. Too many people play in church. They're not desperate. Amen. I'm desperate for you Lord. I'm desperate for you.

[17:27] You're the air I breathe Lord God. You're my heartbeat. You're everything to me. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Psalm 24 Be ye lifted up for ye gates your everlasting gates.

[17:39] The gates of hell shall not prevail against me. How far down into this Gahee valley of hell do we have to go? We got to go all the way to the gates of hell. why do we have to go to hell?

[17:50] And it tells you this very plainly. I want to save that for just a moment. Romans 10 6 and 7 Say not who shall ascend into heaven that is to bring Christ down from above.

[18:10] Now this is what Romans said in Romans 10 and 7 Say not who shall ascend into heaven that Christ has ascended and said he's on the right hand God. Amen. Say not who shall ascend into heaven to bring Christ down from above or who shall descend unto the deep did you know that it said that?

[18:27] Who shall descend into the deep to bring Christ up again from the dead No, no, no.

[18:46] You ain't getting it. Turn to Romans the 10th chapter. Brother Larry was here and said you ain't hearing me. You ain't heard this before Brother Ben I've done read the New Testament a lot of times.

[18:58] Don't matter. You read it with your ears stocked up. Your spiritual ears aren't open you can just read right on over and there's just words on the page. Listen to what he says in Romans 10 and 7 now catch every word.

[19:11] Who shall ascend into the deep? Who shall descend into the deep? The deep. It says here in my footnotes Abuso bottomless unbounded by any definite known limits.

[19:28] Christ did not descend into the lower parts Christ did descend into the lower parts of the earth to liberate the righteous dead and to take them to heaven with him when he ascended on high. But we know that the word deep what's the word deep mean?

[19:40] What's the Hebrew word for deep? Tehom Tehom T-E-H-O-M-E Who shall ascend into the Tehom I'm going to dwell on this just a minute so that we can get familiar with this little phrase here so that you'll know why you got to go down to the deep why you got to go to hell why all of us have to go to hell amen now listen what does it say here don't miss this word who shall ascend into the deep that is to bring up Christ what's that word again from the dead what do you mean bring him up again from the dead when was he dead the first time how are we going to bring him up again from the dead unless he was already dead the first time when was he dead the first time let me tell you Revelation 13 they said that Jesus Christ the Lamb of God slain from the foundation of the world when was Jesus Christ slain he was slain in the Father's purpose he will from the foundation of the world amen hallelujah and now we're talking about going down there and bringing him up again again that word again means anew over but what said it the word it's nigh even in our mouth and in our heart that we preach the word of faith which we preach can you say amen the devil don't want you to get the word of faith he don't want you to understand why you got to go down there and assail his kingdom and assail the gates of hell so that you can go in there and take back what the devil has stole from you if you knew if you knew what all the devil has that belongs to you then honey you'd mount up on your white horse of faith and you'd ride right into the right into the hell and say devil

[21:23] I take it back now if you go in there under your own name though you're in trouble there's something that causes the gates of hell to open and it's not the name Jesse and it's not the name Van and it's not the name Darrell only one thing the bible said the porter hearth my voice and he opened the door amen something's got to open the door something's got to open the door if there's a gate in heaven with a porter on it there's a gate in hell and there's a porter there amen that knows the voice of the master who made the gate how many of those that the bible said that hell was created for the devil and his angels who do you think created hell God created it hell amen when he created hell he put the gates there that's why when he spoke to the gates the gates heard the voice of the master they heard his voice and they began to swing over I can just get you to get a picture of what I'm trying to tell you this morning amen psalm 13 and 8 no no no revelation 13 and 8 sang from the foundation of the world 1st peter 221 so why do we have to go to hell 1st peter 221 don't miss this it says because christ suffered how many knows christ suffered leaving us an example that we should follow his steps where do we follow his steps honey the bible said that he went down into hell where are we going to have to go if we're going to follow christ we're going to walk down into hell ourself amen but david said yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death

[22:59] I will fear no evil for thou are with me you're not going down there by yourself you're going down in the name of the lord you got to go down in the name of the lord you got to go down amen you got to go down you're going down some of you right down at the gates of hell now but you don't know why you're there for and you ain't got the name and you don't know about lifting up the name of god so the devil is beating you because you don't know the word of god and he's trying to kill you with it but if you'll ever find out what your purpose is down there why have you gone!

[23:44] come on I know what I'm talking about I know when the Holy Ghost is here hallelujah that he knows what he's talking about even if I don't know what I'm talking about hallelujah hallelujah why do we have to fall him down into the deep to tail below because he said that my people which are called by my name because he left a portion of his name for me down there in the depths of hell and I'm going down into the depths of hell and get that portion of his name that belongs to me so that when I come up I can lift up the name say listen the gates of hell did not prevail against me either I'm lifting up the name of Jesus over every situation over every problem that comes my way I can tell you're lost I can't help it I gotta go somebody say amen his name is down there to see if you do you really want it will you lift up the name even that you have to go through hell to get to it or you just lift it up and everything is going hunky dory and everything is doing good amen that's when most people want to lift it up and then when God pulls back his grace and and let's a little hell come your way oh my

[24:53] God what is going he just let you experience a little hell to see what are you going to do are you going to blame him are you going to accuse him are you going to abandon him or are you going to run in there and say I want the name of Jesus and I'm going to lift it up when I lift it up he said if I be lifted up I'll draw all men to me when we lift up the name that's what's going to draw people not when you lift up my name not when you lift up somebody else's name but when you lift up the name of Jesus whoo!

[25:22] so we follow his footsteps into hell to get down into his holy righteous ineffable you know what the word ineffable means I'm not too sparse I gotta look all these words up that means unable to be described some call him Jesus the redeemer of all men some call him savior but he's my dearest friend but I call him Jesus but actually honey his name the Bible said wherefore God had exalted him and given him a name above every name that at the name of Jesus but you know the Jehovah Yeshua Mashiach El Elion but all these are just trying to describe who what God is and his name even just his name is so wonderful it's ineffable it's indescribable no word can comprehend the greatness of his name and yet we just act like it's nothing you don't you don't realize what Jesus went through to buy our salvation and what empowerment that he has given unto us he said now in Luke 1 and 9

[26:26] I give you power and authority over all the powers of the devil amen not only in this world but to go down into hell you got power and authority over the devil in hell how he knows that the devil you know we're trying to make the devil equal with God like you know this is two arch two created angel he just created angels all he is and he fell from his first estate God could sniff him out just anytime he wants to but God ain't going to you know why because God wants to raise a little hell in our lives to let us know that we're not exactly where he wants us to be so he lets things go wrong and we get down and feel that nah okay who and if you never get what

[27:36] I got you never see what I see you ever feel what I feel man you gonna shout and dance too see the devils in hell afraid of you once you know who you are and what you got once you done been down there and you said oh ye gates you everlasting gates who is it I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts what did David say when he came down off the mountain going out to meet the devil Goliath he said I little little little little little thing until that stone smote him right between his eyes pow you know how he did it he came in the name not in the name of David but he came in the name of the

[28:36] Lord of host amen hallelujah now so he left us an example that we should fall in his footsteps! and go into hell to get his holy righteous and effable name to lift it up so that the porter of the gates of heaven will let us in what's going to get the gates of heaven open how many of heaven got a gate oh how happy I will be what's going to cause the gates of heaven to swing open wide the name of Jesus Jesus name all from the top of my head the soles of my feet that's all just just a little bit just a little bit just a little bit just just just my very soul and my spirit and my bones and my mar that's in my bones and just a little bit because I found out that there's one who died for me one who died for me didn't 15 die for me didn't even three die for me one died for me and his name was

[29:36] Jesus and not only did he die for me but he arose on the third day for me this is a personal thing for me this is personal he did it for me he did it for me hallelujah and he's sitting right now on the right hand of the father that when I intercede when I intercede he intercedes for me when I intercede when I go to him with my problems and I'm not knowing what to pray for how then he's sitting right there he understands the intercession the bible said that we make groanings with utterances which cannot be uttered amen but we can't understand it but Jesus Christ is sitting on the right hand of the father and he understands that groanings which we're uttering in intercessory prayer and then he's interceding to us to the father there is somebody that can interpret amen we can't understand it to us it's just a bunch of but let me tell you what to him it to him amen he sees what's in our hearts and he knows what we have need of even before we ask amen and what have I been preaching on that causes this show our gate to open amen when we go through it in intercessory prayer you say well I ain't got there yet why why haven't you why why haven't you never heard about it

[30:51] I've only been preaching for 17 years never seen it there's somebody in intercessory prayer ever serves! but really we're without excuse Nehemiah 3 and 2 now get this Nehemiah 2 13 brother says he went down in the valley and in the valley there was a dragon whale anytime I see a dragon I jump back I don't like spiders and snakes that ain't what it takes I don't like dragons either so I look up this dragon in the valley that you had to walk through the shadow of death to get down to the gates of hell there's a dragon waiting to devour you revelation 12 1 through 10 come on let's go river哪裡

[32:13] You got to put that sum on it. Oh, sum. Amen. That sum on it. Amen. Revelation 12 and 1. Listen to what it says. And there appeared a great wonder in heaven, a woman clothed with the sun, the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of 12 stars.

[32:29] And she being with child cried to revealing in birth, and she pained to be delivered. And there appeared another wonder in heaven. And behold, a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns and seven crowns upon his head, and his tail drew a third part of the stars.

[32:43] And he cast them to the earth. And the dragon stood before the woman, ready to pounce as soon as she was delivered, to devour her child as soon as it was born.

[32:56] And she brought forth a man-child who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron. And her child was called up unto God and to his throne. And the woman fled into the wilderness where she had a place prepared of God that they should feed her there in the wilderness a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

[33:14] And there was war in heaven. And Michael and the angel, and his angels fought. And the dragon and his angels fought. And prevail not, neither was their place found there anymore in heaven. And the great dragon, listen to this, here's your stature.

[33:27] Here's a stature of Lucifer. And the great dragon was cast out. That old serpent. Where's the first time we hear about a serpent? In the Garden of Eden.

[33:39] That old serpent called the devil and Satan. So you got dragon, Satan, serpent, devil. Or actually, if you're going from the bottom to the top, you got devil, Satan, serpent, and dragon.

[33:50] He was cast out into the earth and his angels were cast out with him. And I heard a loud voice in heaven saying, now has come salvation and strength and the kingdom of our God and the power of his Christ for the accuser of our brethren is cast down which accused them before our God day and night.

[34:16] And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb by the word of their testimony and they loved not their life unto death. What's in the valley that we got to go through?

[34:27] The dragon. Waiting to devour us as soon as we get down there. Can somebody say amen? The dragon was cast down to earth. We're at all the way down to hell.

[34:40] Now we must face the dragon to get our portion of God's name. How bad do you want it? How bad do you want it? I want everything God has got for me.

[34:50] What's the world say about it? Resist the devil and he will flee. Enough is enough. I'm coming to get my stuff. I'm going to take back what the devil stole from me. Amen. I'm going down to get the portion of his name that I'm going to bear.

[35:05] Amen. In hell's valley every spirit out of hell will attack you. Tell you nobody knows me and nobody knows how I feel and I don't feel at home in that church anymore and I don't nobody didn't speak to me nobody didn't shake my hand nobody didn't ask me this thing.

[35:24] Honey you're going through hell. It ain't supposed to be hunky dory. Whoever told you that everybody's going to love you and like you and all this kind of stuff. If they did they just lied to you. It's not the way it is at all.

[35:34] Then you have to stop and ask yourself what's your purpose? What's your purpose in life? What's your motive?

[35:47] What's your motive for wanting to be a preacher? What's your motive for playing music? What's your motive for singing? What's your motive for coming to church? And you know what believe it or not most people's motive is is to make their own name known.

[36:00] to make their own name known. Amen. We want to be famous.

[36:15] We got the wrong motive. Our purpose in this life is to make his name known not ours. You know we might have came here this morning with a wrong motive. The devil in hell are coming on this earth.

[36:37] Say brother Van I don't want to go down to hell to get that name. Don't matter you're going to face hell you're going to face hell anyway one way or the other. And if we won't go right now in the spirit down to hell's gates to face hell's angels and I'm not talking about a motorcycle gang either.

[36:54] I'm talking about demon forces in hell then how are you going to stand in the tribulation when the devil is sluiced upon this earth. Revelation 9 flip back a couple pages and we'll read about it here in closing this morning.

[37:11] Revelation 9 the first verse And the fifth angel sounded and I saw a star fall from heaven into the earth and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit and he opened the bottomless pit and there arose a smoke out of the pit as the smoke of a great furnace and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.

[37:34] And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth and to them was given power as the scorpions of the earth and it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth neither any green thing neither any tree but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads what is the seal of God in their forehead the devil's got a seal right revelation 13 he says you won't be able to buy or sell except that he that's got the name or or the mark or the number of the name what what is going to be still in our forehead it's going to be the name he said I will write upon you revelation 3 I will write upon you my new name his new name and you know what you put your name on what's on what's yours amen what you don't want to lose what if somebody else gets it they want to know hey I stole this from them because it's got their name on it God puts his name on us how do we get God's name on us you go down to the gates of hell and you get that portion of his name and you bring it back and it becomes yours he said now that's mine how did I know because they love me enough to go through hell to lift up my name they love me enough to go through hell to lift up my name in hell anybody lift up his name when you know with a spirit's eye do you love him enough to lift up his name when you're going through hell and all the forces of hell are coming at you listen to the rest of it here and if it's given them that they should not kill them but that they should be tormented five months and their torment was as a torment of a scorpion when he striked the man and in those days shall the men seek death shall not be able to find it and shall desire to die and death shall flee from them and the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared for battle you know how a horse prepares for battle they almost look like an armadillo they have an armor plate that they wear just like the soldiers were going into battle in the old days they wore an armor plate a suit of armor the horse has got a suit of armor so that in other words you won't be able to hit them or pierce them or shoot them because their armor is going to protect them and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold and their faces were as the faces of men and they had hair of women and their teeth were as the teeth of lions and they had breastplates as it were the breastplates of iron and the sound of their wings was the sound of chariots of many horses running in battle and they had tails like scorpions and there were stings in their tails and their power was given to hurt men for five months and they had a king over them who's the angel of the bottomless pit whose name in the hebrew tongue is abaddon but in the greek tongue is apollyon can you say amen out of the bottomless pit out of the pits of hell coming on this earth it's going to come the devil's angels going to have a face like a man and hair like a woman and teeth like a lion and a plate of armor on and a breastplate but a tail like a scorpion that's going to sting men and it's going to be like a scorpion stinging except these things are going to be much much much much larger you know they say that a scorpion sting is just tormenting it it hurts and it burns so bad and men are going to pray to die but they can't die this torment is going to last them for five months for five months think about it if we won't face the devil now if we won't storm the gates of hell now to take back what belongs to us which is the name that's the biggest thing we left out there is the name the biggest thing he steals from us he don't want anybody lifting up the name

[41:34] so he steals the name and he takes it down into hell and I got the name I've got your name it's in hell you want it you've got to come through me and he stands up there and he roars he roars like a roaring lion seeking whom he may to buy amen be sober be vigilant for your adversary the devil walketh about where's he walking about at he's walking about in front of you you're down at the gates of hell he's saying I want my portion of the name come past me you want it like the Hulk I ain't seen the Hulk but they say they got him 18 foot tall in this picture they got now 18 foot you want it come through me amen and you know here's the sad thing about it well I'm not that big none of us are but I'm not coming in my name I'm going to put on the whole armor of God and I found that the whole armor of God has got a face shield that you pull down and amen I've got his name I've got his armor on not my armor it's the armor of God hallelujah I'm raising up his flag his staff

[42:36] I'm coming down there and I say oh you gates you everlasting gates be lifted up that the king of glory may come the devil don't know who's inside that armor it looks like Jesus it sounds like Jesus he's got his armor on I better lift the gates wing open wide you don't even fight the battle you just got to be willing to fight be willing to face it be willing to face whatever's coming in your life then you won't have to face it got to move it out of your way but until you're willing to face it the devil's going to beat you and beat you and beat you and beat you you get to make your name known and your will known when you get mad you ever notice why do you get mad I get mad because somebody said something or did something or didn't do something or didn't say something well they should have and I've got a choice I can be offended I can not be offended but I choose to be offended and when I get offended then I'm going to be mad and let me tell you why I'm mad because you're not going to do that to me look who I am you're trying to make your name when you get mad you're making your name known look who I am you ain't going to do this to me you think you're going to do that to me that's your problem that's why you're mad you want to make your name known instead of saying hey Lord you're the head you're the head

[44:02] I'm the tail just wag me you're the head whatever whatever you hey if you'll ever realize that you'll quit getting mad because when you're getting mad you're not coming under God's head you're coming under the serpent the dragon's head the one that gets you really mad and you're really throwing your little mad fit he said that's yours that's one of your saints look at them look at them what did they say oh yeah that's one of yours they just took your name in vain and what some four letter words that's yours and the devil said sounds more like one of my saints than one of your saints don't it I mean sometimes we sound more like the devil's saints than we do God's saints why because we get mad and when we get mad instead of lifting up the name of Jesus we're lifting up the name of the devil saying that God don't care about me when we don't like the way God's doing things it means I don't like the way you're running the show I don't like the way you're running my life so we get mad to make our name known some hell comes from the devil for us and some hell we raise ourselves and grow up ourselves resisting ourselves we even if I have to go through hell he has given life to me

[45:29] I was nothing when Jesus found me but he asked him a life to me哪裡哪裡 Your touch is all that I long for.

[46:34] You have given life to me. How many would you stand up with me this morning?

[46:48] Pray this little prayer with me. Lord, I don't understand everything Brother Van Priest this morning. But Lord, I felt the Spirit on it.

[47:04] So there must be something to it. Lord, if there's a portion of your name in hell for me, let me be willing, Lord, to go down to the gates of hell.

[47:22] Command them to be open. Because the gates of hell won't prevail against me when I come in the name of Jesus. Oh, hallelujah.

[49:48] I've testified many a times about how God instantly killed him after he had been paralyzed for five years. I told Brother Van he was preaching over to my mom and dad's church this morning.

[50:03] I've never heard him and I wanted to go hear him because, you see, I'm the type of person that I would come back and tell Brother Van, forget my brother coming. But I've seen instant miracles this morning.

[50:19] There was a woman in that church that I've known for years. Mama, she couldn't do this because she had the same thing you had. Brother Van, I've seen my brother walk up and all he did was he touched her.

[50:33] And he said, In Jesus' name, you're healed. Her arm went straight up like this. There was another woman in that church. Brother Del was in the same shape that you were in before you had your surgery.

[50:49] See, I know these people because I was born and raised in that church. He brought her up front. He didn't scream. He didn't yell. And he didn't holler. And he began to pray for that woman.

[51:02] And instantly, her feet, the swelling came out of them. People, this is not something that my brother is playing with. He's been through it so he knew what she was going through.

[51:15] He put his hands on her back and he prayed for her. And the minute that he took his hands off of her, she was turning and she was doing this. Now, I'm not saying this because this is my brother.

[51:28] But I'm saying it because of what God is doing. And Riverside Pentecostal Church needs a healing. We need a healing in our bodies. Now, I don't want everybody, I'm not bragging on my brother, but I'm bragging on what God can do for him.

[51:42] And he stood up there and he testified that the Lord told him to do something and he didn't do it. And he disobeyed God. And it's not been very long that they told him, you've got a ruptured disc in your neck.

[51:54] And they had him scheduled for surgery on the 23rd of this month. And he said he called his doctor's office and he told them he wanted another MRI before they operated on him.

[52:06] And he said he was standing looking at the doctor and the doctor said, well, you've been praying, ain't you? And he said, yeah, I've been praying. He said we run the MRI that he asked for and they couldn't find nothing wrong with his neck.

[52:22] People, we need to be here and hold this church up in prayer next week. Not because it's my brother, but because of the anointing that is going through my brother. And he's been there. And I just had to come down here and tell you what happened this morning.

[52:36] Because I've been wanting to see these kind of healings. I've talked to Brother Van and I've said, why don't we see him anymore? And he's not loud. He didn't get red-faced. But he walked around and he said, if you wonder what I'm doing, he said, I'm listening to what the Spirit is saying.

[52:52] He said, I'm listening to where the Spirit is leading me and what the Spirit's telling me to do. See, I hadn't seen my brother in four years and I thought, man, I've got to go check this out. Because I'm the type of person and Brother Van, I'll tell you, I would have come back and said, Brother Van, don't let my brother preach down here.

[53:09] But I'll tell you what, if you want to see some healings and you need some miracles in every, every aspect of your life, not just physically, you better be here next Saturday night. Because I'm expecting God to use it.
