[46:07] And in the process of time, things began to go wrong for both sons. The money was gone out of the bank.

[46:19] The cattle quit calving. There was a drought and the grass quit growing. And when they were at their despair, the first son came to his father and he says, Father, I've messed up.

[46:38] Everything that you gave me, I have. If you don't come help me, I'm going to lose everything. And that father said, Son, I'm going to come help you.

[46:54] The other son went to his father and he said, Father, I have messed up. I've lost just about everything. The bank's ready to come take the farm.

[47:08] If you don't come help me, I'm going to lose it all. And that father said, Son, you're on your own. Which father? Tell me, tell me right now.

[47:19] Which father had you rather have? The first father or the second father? Tell me. See, I've already told this story to some of you, so some of you already know the end of the story.

[47:35] Most people would say, I want the one who's going to come help me. Because I'm at the end of my road. So we would say, I want the first father, the one that's going to help me out.

[47:47] If you don't know the end of the story, that's the right decision to make. But if you know the end of the story. Because a second father wouldn't help his son. His son had to get down and do the things that he hadn't been willing to do before to make that farm a success.

[48:03] He had to sacrifice. In ways that he never thought he'd have to sacrifice. And he pulled himself through the first son that the father came back and helped.

[48:15] Sure, the father got the farm going again. Turned it over to the son again and the father died. But the son didn't learn the lesson and he lost it all in the end anyway. But the first father who didn't help his son, the son learned the lesson that God you've already done everything that you're going to do for me.

[48:30] You done died for me. You done forgive me of my sin. You done fill me with the Holy Ghost. And now Lord, it's not up to you anymore. It's up to me. The works that I do, you do also in greater works. So the second son went back and did those things.

[48:44] He renewed his first works. And he learned out of adversity to persevere and come forth and be successful. There's an old saying, if you feed a man that's hungry a fish, you fed him for one day.

[49:02] If you teach him the fish, you fed him for the rest of his life. If we minister a message to you, we fed you one day. If we can somehow teach you that you can go to the word of God and get it yourself, then we fed you for the rest of your life.

[49:18] But you got to have a desire for it. You got to want it. And there's no trick to it. There is a secret to it.

[49:30] Laying on your face and staying in that word. Amen. Let me tell you what Jesse's interested in when the Wildcats and the Cardinals come on TV.

[49:41] He couldn't care less about the Wildcats and the Cardinals. Amen. How many would like to have the anointing that Brother Jesse has? How many has been just a little bit jealous of the anointing?

[50:04] To give us a hunger. God, if you can do it to no drug addict like Jesse that didn't know anything, then God, I've been serving you a long time. Now why can't I have it? You got two choices. You can be like the prodigal son and say, God, I'm so glad to be back home and I want to do everything I can to please you.

[50:18] Or you can be like the son that stayed home and get mad and get jealous. Because God is blessing Jesse. Amen. What did the father tell the son that stayed home?

[50:29] Son, all mine is thine and you could have had a fatted calf anytime you wanted and you could have everything that I've got. God, I haven't held anything back from you. Church, God has not held anything back from us.

[50:42] We just said this is all I want. A little knowledge is dangerous. I know about the blood and I know about the Holy Ghost and I know about water baptism and that's just all I need to know.

[50:55] That's just enough to be dangerous to you. Because you don't know enough. I've been studying this word for 35 years. I don't know enough. And I won't know enough when I leave this world. And if I ever do know enough then I'll be finally old enough to die.

[51:13] So if you all would really want it, only if you really want it, I feel almost certain that Brother Darrell would somehow work it in his busy schedule.

[51:29] To teach you how to formulate a message. So that you wouldn't always be depending on somebody else to chew your food up and put it in your mouth so that you can digest it.

They did a lot of other things too, but they paid tithes on everything that they had. That was one of the things, wasn't it? Amen. Are we paying tithes on everything we have? Are we fasting? We fast when we see how fast we can eat it before it's gone. How many will say, not to me, but to the Lord, Lord, I'm going to fast one day this week. One day I'm going to fast, and if I can't fast all day, I'm going to fast all that I can. But I'm not going to plan to fail because I failed to plan. I'm going to do my best one day this week because I want some of what Brother Jesse's got. I want some of what Brother Kevin's got over here this morning that caused him to get down here and weep and cry and cry out to God. Amen. He said a mouthful when he said, we came so close to God this morning. He said, a broken and a contrite spirit, O God, thou would not despise that the Lord is near unto them that have a broken and a contrite heart. You think he's near unto us when we're up and shouting, but he's not. He's back and all saying, watch him go. But when you get down on your knees, you begin to cry out of your heart and tears flowing down of sincerity and everything else that it stands for. And that's when God moves right in there with you. Wraps his arms of love around you. Amen. I've always said, I want to be like John, to be loved. I want to lay my head on his breast till I can hear the beat of his heart. Can somebody say amen? Amen.
