Manifested Sons

[0:00] Hallelujah. Hallelujah. The most powerful weapon that God has given us to defeat our enemies is His precious Word. In Galatians, He calls it, the Word is the sword of the Spirit.

[0:23] We can take that sword of the Spirit and defeat every enemy that comes our way, amen? He said the Word of God is quick. The word quick means sharp. Powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword.

[0:38] It divides, it is so, it can even divide between the joint and the mara, between the very thought and intent of your heart. You know, we all do something out of a motive. We don't know for sure what motive it is.

[0:51] Everybody comfortable? You're too cool. Let me kick it up, though. If you've got your Bible, tell me to the book of Revelation.

[1:20] The Bible talks about how that knowledge is going to pass away and tongues are going to cease.

[1:45] Can you say amen? Hallelujah. And the only thing that's going to be able to stand is if you have the Word of God. The Word of God is Jesus Christ.

[2:03] In the beginning was the Word. And the Word was with God. And the Word was God.

[2:14] Amen? If you get the Word, you have Jesus Christ. You may speak in tongues, jump up and down, hoop and holler and dance all over the place. But if you don't have the Word, you don't have Jesus Christ.

[2:24] What separates a true Christian from a false Christian is a true Christian has the Word of God and lives the Word of God that they have.

[2:38] Someone that is deceived, and there's different ways to be deceived. You can deceive yourself. The devil who is a deceiver will deceive you, and other men will deceive you. And the thing that they tell you is, you don't have to know the Word.

[2:52] Just do all right. It's just like saying, I'm going to have a wife, but I don't have to know her. I'm going to get married to a husband, I don't have to know him.

[3:03] It's just, you know. No, honey, you need to know the Word of God. You need it down inside of you until it comes out like second nature.

[3:15] That not only... The Apostle Paul said, we have this treasure in earthen vessels. We've got the Word of God in these earthen vessels.

[3:26] Amen? And this Word that we have is Jesus. Jesus is the Word. The Word is Jesus. We don't know the Word.

[3:38] We don't know Jesus. You want to know more about Jesus? Know more about the Word. This is who He is. This is what He is. Everything He ever said He's going to do, He's put it right here in the Word.

[3:50] Beginning in Revelation, the first chapter, and this is one of the hardest or harder books in the Bible to understand. Because, sad to say is that you can't understand anything of the Word of God unless God opens your mind.

[4:05] The Word of God is closed up. He even said to the children of Israel that their minds, that there is a veil upon their minds even to this day. Amen? That they can't understand.

[4:17] They can't understand. They reject the New Testament and Jesus Christ because they rejected the Christ that came. Amen? So now, but now, it's not going to be too long.

[4:29] So the rapture is going to take place. Tribulation period is going to begin. And then, the veil is going to be taken off of their face. And they're going to see that Jesus Christ was the Messiah.

[4:40] And they're going to accept Him. They're going to receive Him. They're going to be sealed in their foreheads. And they're going to go out and evangelize the world. Can you say amen? Amen. Hallelujah. But the veil should not be on our minds. But the devil will hold his hand up there just like this when it comes to the Word of God.

[4:54] We can look at everything else. But when we look at the Word of God. See, anything we want to see, we just, all right, let's think over in the Bible. Well, it's just dead.

[5:04] It's shut up. And it is. But the only way that you can do it, first, you've got to ask God to give you an ear to hear what the Spirit is saying. Which is in the seven church ages here.

[5:16] Every church age, at the end of it, he said, He that hath an ear, let him hear. Not only that, you've got to pray that God would give you a heart to understand what it says.

[5:28] Not only to hear it, but to understand it. Amen. A lot of people come to church and they hear me preach or they hear, you know, like Brother Jesse. He was, you know, spouting off so much stuff last night that we heard it. You know, but most didn't understand where it was coming from.

[5:41] We talk about an Old Testament tabernacle. Matter of fact, do we have a chart? Do we have a board? A chalkboard. If I could get that real quick, I'd like to have it.

[5:53] But if you know anything, the Bible is, it is a book, it's a history book about God and about God's people.

[6:05] And where he has brought us from, it don't gloss over anybody's sins. David committed adultery. It just blurted it right out there. David sinned, committed adultery.

[6:18] And because of that, you know, God didn't allow that son that was born in that adulterous relationship to live.

[6:30] And it tells you all the history of who we are. It's a family tree. You want to know where you came from? Go read the Bible.

[6:41] If you're thinking about somebody else over there across the waters, then you know it's kind of a dead thing. Amen. But it's a Jewish book written to Jews. And a Jew is not one who is one outwardly, but who is one inwardly.

[6:57] For the circumcision is of the heart and not of the flesh. Amen. Amen. I want to read here.

[7:13] It says, and I'll just give out what I can. What God wants me to give you. Amen. It says, the revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave to him, to show unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass.

[7:29] And he sent and signified it by an angel to his servant John, who bear record of the word of God and of the testimony of Jesus Christ and of all the things that he saw. Can you say amen?

[7:41] Let me just throw this in. In six days, God created the world. Heavens and the earth and everything they're in.

[7:54] On the seventh day, he rested. Peter tells us that a day with the Lord is as a thousand years and a thousand years is as a day. And spiritually speaking, we're living somewhere at the end of the sixth day, the 6,000 year.

[8:09] We are waiting for the rapture of the church. We are the church that will be alive when Jesus comes.

[8:20] And we'll either go in the rapture or we'll go into the tribulation period. But the cup of time is filled up. If you could see a cup, you ever seen a cup that you can actually put more water in it than what the cup will hold?

[8:31] It will roll up over the top. That's the way I see it right now. And all we've got to have is just one more little drop and everything's going to run over and everything's going to come down. Amen? We're spread out. Everything, every scripture that had to be fulfilled is already fulfilled.

[8:47] And there's nothing to prevent the rapture and the tribulation period and the Antichrist from coming. Amen? So, reading that, remember what we're talking about here.

[9:00] This is the revelation of Jesus Christ. If you want to know Jesus, then God, pray that God will open your mind to get a revelation of who he is and what he is. Which God gave unto him and he sent and signified it by an angel to his servant Job who bear record of the testimony of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ of all things that he saw.

[9:16] And blessed is he that readeth. You want to be blessed? Read this book. Blessed is he that readeth and they that hear the words of this prophecy and keep those things which are written therein for the time is at hand.

[9:27] Can you say amen? Hallelujah. Hallelujah. And then John, here's the revelation. He said, now John, to the seven churches which are in Asia, grace be unto you and peace from him which is and which was and which is to come and from the seven spirits of God which are before his throne.

[9:44] And from Jesus Christ who is the faithful witness and the first begotten of the dead, the prince of the kings of the earth, and to him that loved us and washed us from our own sins in his own blood, and hath made us kings and priests unto God and his father.

[9:58] To him be glory and dominion forever and ever and ever. Can you say amen? He said, behold, he cometh with clouds and every eye shall see him and they also which perish to him.

[10:09] And all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, come Lord Jesus. Amen? Even so, amen. Even so, let it be. Let's bow our head and go to the Lord in prayer.

[10:19] Lord Jesus, we love you and we praise you. We thank you, Lord God, for your precious word. Thank you, Lord God, for everyone, Lord, that you have sent here, Lord, that you made a part of Riverside.

[10:30] And, Lord God, we're trying to be the church that's on the way, Lord. We're on the way. We're not standing still. We're not stagnant, Lord God, but we're growing in grace and truth and in the love and the knowledge of you. Help us today, Lord God, by opening up our minds, Lord God, that we might receive.

[10:44] Open up, Lord, the eyes of our heart, Lord, that we can see your word. And, Lord God, we can take it. We can taste of it and know that it's good. And, Lord, we can apply these principles to our lives, Lord God, that we might be found, Lord, fruit-bearing Christians when you come, Lord, desiring to eat of us.

[10:57] And everybody said amen and amen. Going back to verse 4. John to the seven churches which are in Asia. Amen? Going on over to verse 11. And he's saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last.

[11:12] And what thou seest, write in the book, and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia, unto Ephesus, unto Smyrna, unto Pergamos, unto Thyatira, unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.

[11:27] Can somebody shout amen? Go down to verse 16. He said, And he had in his right hand seven stars, and out of his mouth got a sharp two-edged sword, and its countenance was as the sun that shined in its strength.

[11:38] Can somebody shout amen? Go to verse 20. And he says, And the mystery are the seven stars which thou sawest in thy right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. He said, The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.

[11:55] Can you say amen? So in other words, God is showing something here in the number seven. What's the number seven mean? Means completion or perfection. Amen? Or full spiritual maturity.

[12:07] What's the number six mean? That's man's number. Amen? Hallelujah. If you put six with seven, what do you have? Thirteen. If you do it spiritually six with seven, what do you have?

[12:18] You have a complete, mature, spiritual Christian grown up to the fullness of the measure of the stature of Christ. Amen? And a mature, spiritual Christian is one who has God's word.

[12:30] Amen? And it's like a sword in his hand. Amen? He is able to wield the word of God and to cut aside all the flesh. Amen? Spiritual flesh of the things that keep us from being like Jesus, from walking like Jesus, and doing it using the word of God.

[12:45] Amen? A lot of us like to jerk out our sword. I had a sword here. I got a sword here somewhere. And we want to go fight the devil with our sword that's about the size of this piece of chalk.

[12:59] Amen? When God wants us to grab a hold of the hilt of the word of God and begin to pull that thing out, and the devil will say, my Lord, is he ever going to get all that thing out? My Lord, let me tell you what, honey. The measure of your power with God is the measure of your sword of your spirit of the word of God that you possess.

[13:16] Amen? That you're able to go to war with. Amen? Now, a baby with a big sword is no good. But if you're a spiritually mature Christian, and you pull out the sword of the spirit of the word of God, then you're able to go in there and fight and tear down everything that the devil is trying to build up to keep you from being all that God has called you to be.

[13:33] He has laid obstacles in your path. And the way that you get past those obstacles is you take the sword of the word of God, and you begin to whack them and cut them out of the way, and then you walk on through victorious.

[13:45] Amen? Amen. If you're not careful, you'll come up to an obstacle, and you'll say, it's too high. I can't get it. I'm going to have to turn around and go back. Amen? But if you've got the word of God, amen, God will anoint you, and he'll give you this power to use them.

[13:58] These seven churches are a picture of Jesus Christ. Amen? I'm not much of a drawer, and my picture's been put up somewhere. But if you could see this cross is how the Old Testament tabernacle was laid out.

[14:12] Can somebody say amen? Brother Darrell taught on this here for about three or four months. And these seven churches are laid out in the form of a cross. And these seven churches are also the seven church ages.

[14:23] This is a picture of the seven church ages. What's the first church? Let's just see what we can learn from the church of Ephesus. Amen? Hallelujah.

[14:34] Hallelujah. This church of Ephesus consisted of believers. Well, let me just say this before I get there. We are. We are. We are living in Laodicea.

[14:51] This is where we are. Whether we've grown there spiritually or not, this is where we are. We have experienced and will experience everything that every church age if you grow up.

[15:08] If you grow up. If you grow up. As newborn babies desire the sins and milk of the word of God that you may grow thereby. Amen? God wants us to grow up. And this church of Laodicea has to experience everything that's in every church age to overcome that if you want to be in the bride.

[15:31] How many wants to be in the bride? And if you want to be in the bride. Amen. Then there's something in every church here that I'm going to read here real quick this morning that we're going to have to overcome. We're going to have to overcome these in our lives if we want to grow up spiritually.

[15:44] Amen? Hallelujah. Hallelujah. So. And also let me just say this. That in every church age. The Laodicea church. There will be believers out of every church that's going to be in the bride of Christ.

[15:59] Amen? No matter what church that may have been. The seven pieces of furniture which is the brazen altar. And the labor. And the golden altar.

[16:13] The candlestick. The table of showbread. The ark of the covenant. And the mercy seat. The seven pieces of furniture are all where you and I can grow up to if we want to grow up to.

[16:28] Remember what Brother Jesse was talking about last night? The blood, fire, and water. He said that this is the outer court. The outer gate. You know. When you come in. The first thing you experience is the blood. I can see right now.

[16:41] I'm not going to get where I'm going to go today. The first thing you get is the blood. And if God is satisfied with your sacrifice. When you lay your body on the altar. What happens? Fire comes down from heaven.

[16:51] From God. And consumes the sacrifice. Amen? After the blood comes the fire of the Holy Ghost. Can you say amen? Amen. And where is the Holy Ghost going to lead you to? When you know the truth. The truth shall set you free. Amen?

[17:02] When the spirit of truth has come. He's going to lead you and guide you in all truth. The truth is going to lead you to the waters of his name, death, and life. Amen? You'll never get away from the blood, the fire, and the water. You'll never get away from it. It's all the way through the Old Testament tabernacle.

[17:13] From the top to the bottom. Hallelujah. This is your foundation. If you try to build on anything else besides the blood, fire, and the water. You're not going to make it. There's three gates to it. There's a way gate.

[17:26] There's a truth gate. And there's a life gate. John 14, 6. Jesus said, I am the way. I am the truth. And I am the life.

[17:37] Amen? Straight is the gate and narrow is the way. And few there be that find it. But broad is the way that leadeth to destruction. And many go in there at. Can somebody say amen? Hallelujah.

[17:49] Hallelujah. All right. Let me get to where I'm trying to go here. When we do. And just let me put my churches down there. Read off the churches to me.

[17:59] There's Ephesus. And there's Pergamos next. Smyrna. S-M-Y-R-N-A. And then there's Pergamos.

[18:12] S-P-E-R-G-A-M-O-S. And then there's Thyatira. Huh? You probably can't read that.

[18:27] But you could have read my notes either. So. Thyatira. And then there is Sardis. There's Philadelphia.

[18:37] Philadelphia. Philadelphia. And there is Laodicea. Can you say amen?

[18:48] These are all laid out in the form of a cross. These are all. This is a picture of the church ages. That we're going to go through. And I want to talk about them a little bit. But. God is wanting us to grow up.

[19:01] Grow up into here. Because you know what? You know what you're going to get when you get up here? You're going to get on the right hand side of God. Which is where the bride is. You're going to. And anybody know anything about manifested sons?

[19:13] The Bible says in Romans 1st chapter. He said for the. For. The creation grown up. Waiting for the manifestation of the sons of God. Amen. And you know what the word manifest.

[19:24] Manifestation means. Or to manifest something means to make it known. How many of us are sons of God? Born of God. God's our father.

[19:35] Amen. But. But see. We're not known. We're unknown. We're here. We're kept in secret. Right now. But. But when Jesus Christ comes and the rapture takes place. The whole creation going within itself.

[19:47] Amen. Waiting for the. The manifestation. Waiting for the sons of God to be made known. And who's going to make the sons of God known? Amen. Jesus Christ. Amen.

[19:58] The righteous. The Holy Spirit of God. God himself. Amen. Is going to make. The manifested sons of God known. How many wants to be. You know we all talk about. I. I. I. I. I. I like to have the power to lay hands on the sick.

[20:10] To raise the dead. To cast out devils. Who's going to be able to do that? The manifested sons of God are. Amen. Did Peter do it? Did. Did. Did John do it? Did Paul do it? Why were they doing it? Because God had manifested himself in them.

[20:21] And they were using the power that he gave them. And they were making themselves known. Amen. The Holy Ghost was making them known. And that's why they got such reputation. That they said if we can just lay our. Our. Our. Our. sick in the street, maybe when Peter walks by his shadow will fall on them and they might get healed.

[20:36] Amen? Because they were manifested. And we say, well, we want that same kind of power that they had. And the way that we get that kind of power, because you know how they got that kind of power? They forsook all.

[20:48] And they took up their cross and they followed Jesus. Not just one day a week. Not just two days a week. Daily. For three and a half years they ate with him. They slept with him. Where he ate, they ate. Where he slept, they slept. Where he prayed, they prayed. Amen? Until they knew him. They knew him.

[21:10] Amen? They knew him. How many would like to have such a cross relationship amen, that you could say, I know God. I know God. Amen? And the way that we know him is when we get his word. Hallelujah.

[21:23] The manifested sons of God are those who in every situation of life are able to manifest God or manifest Jesus Christ and he'll come forth from within you. How many of us do we have God within us?

[21:34] God in us? Amen? Alright, what happens when things don't go our way? We get mad, we throw a fit. Who are we manifesting? That we're sons of God or we still got Beelzebul, the devil in us? Amen?

[21:47] Come on. Hallelujah. So we need to allow Jesus Christ to come forth within our lives to manifest the nature of Jesus in every situation that God will let come our way because he lets everything come our way to make us more like him, to grow us up spiritually.

[22:03] Can you say amen? Now, in order to be manifested sons of God, we have to overcome the disease disease. That's dis-ease.

[22:16] The disease and the affliction in all these seven churches if we want to be a manifested son of God. There's going to be things that God's going to ask you to do that's going to be right opposite of your flesh and you're going to say, I don't want to do that. And when you say, I don't want to do that, you stop. You stop God's blessings.

[22:34] You stop God's blessings. The price is too much. You're wanting, you're wanting, God, you're wanting to control my life. Yeah, yeah, that's what it's all about. You're wanting me to get on the cross with you. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's what I want.

[22:52] Take up your cross daily and follow me. The apostle Paul did that and he said, for I am crucified with Christ. Nevertheless, I live yet the life that I now live in the flesh. It is no longer I that live it, but Jesus Christ living inside of me. Yeah, that's what he wants. He wants to control our lives. We are the manifestation of Jesus Christ. God is using our bodies to manifest himself to this lost and dying world. How would God dress? How would Jesus Christ dress if he was here? How would he talk? How would he walk? How would he deal with people? You know, when everybody was upset, would he just be wringing his hands wondering what we're going to do? Remember what Sister Virginia was talking about last night?

[23:35] She said, you know, she got worried because things were going on and she wasn't upset about it until she finally said, wait a minute. Maybe God just gave me peace over it. Amen. If you're one with the Father, no matter what you're going through, you know that he's working all things for your good and he's not going to allow anything to come your way that is not for your betterment, even if it hurts. Amen. You ever been to the dentist? You ever go to the dentist, you know, they call them painless dentists.

[24:03] That's why they call them back in the old cowboy days, painless dentists, but there wasn't nothing painless about it. But when you left there and when it all got healed up, you were better. Can you say amen? Sometimes we got to go to God and we got to say, God, here I am. Amen. Now work on me. And it hurts when he's cutting off our flesh when he said, don't do this anymore. Now don't do no good for me to tell you. God's got to speak to you. Open the eyes of my heart, Lord, so that I can see. Amen. So we got to get, we got to overcome the diseases and the afflictions at every church age. Revelation, the second chapter. Let's just read what the first says here. And to the angel of the church of Ephesus, write these things, saith he that holdeth the seven stars in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks. He said, I know thy patience. He said, I know thy works and thy labor and thy patience. Now, I just want to make a note right here. He sent this letter to seven churches. To every church he said, I know your labor. If he said that to those seven churches, he's looking down here at Riverside and when we get there, he's going to say, church, I know your works. I know what you've done. I know what you haven't done. I saw you when you worked and I saw you when you roll over in bed and decided I'll just be a holy roller and, you know, I'm tired of working.

[25:23] Amen. To every church age, he says, and you look it up in every church age, he said, I know your works. Amen. Listen to what he says here. I know thy works and thy patience. Do we have patience? Not much, do we?

[25:39] The measure of your patience. Oh my Lord, this hits home. The measure of your patience is in direct relation to the measure of your stature that you have of Jesus Christ. Two seconds at the stoplight. Blah. Something don't go your way. You just begin to, you know, just to buck in the store, to throw and to push and to kick and to scream and holler. Yeah. Hey, it's my belt. I'm hitting below. Believe me, I know it. He said, I know your patience and I know how that you can't not bear them which are evil and you have tried them which say they're apostles and they are not and has found them liars and has born and listen, here it is, and has born and has patience. The word born means you carried the load. Amen. God knows how we've carried the load and they got to throw that word patience again. Amen. Another word for patience is tribulation. I know your patience. I know your tribulation. Why tribulation for patience? Because tribulation worketh patience. Amen.

[26:42] Tribulation. He said, I know your patience. I know what you've been through. I know your tribulations. He said, how thou hast born and has patience and for my name's sake hath labored. Why did you labor? Why did the church of Ephesus labor? Now remember, this isn't to some church 2,000 years ago. This is to this church today. I know your patience. I know your labor. I know how that you have born. Amen. I know that you have born, have not fainted, has labored. Nevertheless, I have somebody against you because you left your first love. Amen. What do we have to overcome? First thing we have to overcome. And just list all these things that. How many of us have done these things? Do we have patience? Tribulation work the patience. We don't have much patience so we're not letting tribulation work us. So we're still having tribulation. We're just not letting it give us patience. And God gives us those things so we can learn to be an overcomer in them. How many of us are cancer bear them that are liars?

[27:52] Anybody like a liar? The Bible said God hateth a lie and he that maketh a lie. And all liars are going to have their part in the lake of fire. Amen. Hallelujah. And then it says that some are going to say that they're apostles and they're not. Some are going to say they're prophets and they're not. They're liars. Amen. You know what they're trying to do? They're trying to blow their self up. You never, you rarely find in the Word of God where anybody is boasting of their self. They're always boasting of Jesus Christ. He said you have borne, I mean you've carried the load, you've patience and has patience and for my name's sake you've labored and has not fainted.

[28:27] Nevertheless I have somewhat against you because you left your first love. Left your first love. Man. He said remember therefore when whence I art fallen. Repent and do your first works or else I will come quickly. I will come to thee quickly and will remove thy candlestick out of his place except thou repent. He said but this thou hast thou hatest the deeds of the Nicolatanes which also I hate. He that hath an ear let him hear what the spirit said unto the churches. Can you say man? Hallelujah. All right now let me just talk about this for a minute.

[28:59] Notice the word affliction means patience, means tribulation and it's mentioned twice there. It means they had a double load of affliction. Anybody around here feel like you got a double load of affliction? I mean I mean you know you don't want no more to get over one thing till something else comes your way and and you think now boy the sun's gonna shine bright and everything's gonna be good and then wham you get hit with something else and just knocks you back down to your knees. Amen. But you have labored, you have borne up and you're still going on. Amen. But then after a while something begins to go happen and we begin to lose our first love. What's the first sign that you've lost your first love? You don't pray.

[29:42] You don't pray. You don't come to church for prayer meeting. If you come you sit there and you don't pay attention. You don't you talk but you don't pray. Amen. One of the things that that bothers me more than anything else about Riverside. I've been here 17 years. When I when I came here 17 years ago sister Anna had an accessory prayer by gift and it is by gift. You don't do nothing to work it. You can't buy it. You can't earn it. You can't merit it. But because you're a child of God, God said because you're my child here's some gifts I'm going to give you. I'm going to give you the blood. I'm going to give you the fire of the Holy Ghost.

[30:19] Amen. I'm going to give you the waters of my name, death, and life. I'm going to give you intercessory prayer. I'm going to give you asking prayer. I'm going to give you a travailing prayer. I'm going to give you a commanding prayer. I'm going to give you all this. It's yours if you want it. If you want it. Do you want it? If you want it you have to take it. Amen. If you notice the first thing that that that happens when when you begin to lose your first love is you quit praying. And in the Bible the thing that correlates to to really making love with Jesus is intercessory prayer. Asking prayer is like dating. Going together getting to know one another. Amen. We all we all got that line don't we. And then we have intercessory prayer which means that all right we've gotten married. We've come into a union relationship and and we're interceding we're intercessory. You know what intercede. It's I n t e r c e e d but if you write it down this e n t e r dash s e e d.

[31:23] When you're interceding you're entering seed. That's intercessory prayer that is making love. When you're intercessing when you're when you're when you're when you're praying and when the in in in in in intercessory prayer you're making love to Jesus. What happens after intercessory prayer?

[31:37] Travailing prayer? Travailing prayer? What's travailing prayer? Bringing forth life. Bringing forth life. Can you see what I'm saying? You got the you got the dating stage then you get married and and and and and have the union with intercessory prayer. And that union with intercessory prayer brings forth new life which is travailing. You're travailing in birth. You know Paul said to I'm little children who I'm at travailing birth to Christ be formed in you and he said again. Amen. Sometimes you got it you got to travail and for for him again. Can you see what I'm saying? Amen. The the steps of all right. What do we do? What do we do? When we start to backslide? We cut off making love to our spiritual background. Amen. We don't talk to him no more.

[32:22] Amen. Worst thing that can happen in any marriage is when you can't talk. When when when the fighting hasn't worked and you just shut up. That's when death is setting in. This is what happens. This is what happens to the church. The worst thing that can happen to a church is when the church quits praying. When and and then when they quit interceding you know a lot of times a lot of times the church wants to go back well let's just go back to talking again.

[32:52] We done been married and we done consummated our relationship and now you want to go back to talking and holding hands. You know I don't think that's the way it's supposed to be. Do you? Amen. I could relate on down that line but I don't want to go there today. Amen.

[33:06] Amen. At the foot of the cross the church of Smyrna was at the brazen altar and the word affliction is mentioned twice. You got to you got to bear a double portion of what everybody else has to bear because God has chosen you to bear his name. Amen. So you got there under a double portion of it. If you ever learn to intercede then you've learned to make love to Jesus Christ and that love making is what gives you overcoming power.

[33:34] Because what happens? He what did he say to the church of of of of of Laodicea in Revelation 3. I think it's 16. He said behold he said my love my love my love my undefiled you know he said behold I stand at the door and knock.

[33:48] Honey please open that door how that old song go Honey won't you open that door That's what Jesus is saying. He said behold I stand at the door and knock.

[34:06] Honey won't you open that door. Who's he who's he not who's inside? His bride. Who's the bride got shut out? The bridegroom. What's he wanting to do? He want to come in and make love to you.

[34:17] Amen. This is a personal thing. This this is this is whether you grow up or whether you don't grow any further than the very foot of the foundation. Whether you ever get to make heaven you know make the bride.

[34:28] It's all about will you make love to Jesus? How are we going to make love to Jesus? We have to learn to intercede. We have to learn to go and intercede. How are you going to learn to intercede? You see somebody else that does it. And then you do it.

[34:39] You do what you see other people doing. Amen. That's what I was saying. One of the things that that really disturbs me is as I came here 17 years ago and it was interceding. You know we have a you know maybe just a few.

[34:50] I took a survey back there in the in the hall the other night of people that that you know had intercessory prayer that was standing there. And I think only maybe one or two out of those that were standing there said yeah I have intercessory prayer.

[35:05] You know what that means? I'm just I'm not trying to make you mad. I'm not trying to make you feel small or inferior. I'm trying to let you see that we have to grow up into Jesus Christ and to grow up into him we need to learn how to intercede because only in intercessory prayer are we making love to him.

[35:21] Amen. It's quiet. Amen. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. What does God want us to do?

[35:32] Look in verse 5 here. He says remember from where you've fallen. How many remembers when you came down here and you got down that old water and you began to cry and tears were flooding you and you didn't care if you know messed your makeup or what how your hair was messed up.

[35:47] It didn't matter because you were down there and you were just crying your eyes out. Amen. You were repenting. He said repent and do your first works or else I would come and remove your candlestick.

[35:59] Amen. Hallelujah. Down in verse 7 he said if you do this then how many wants to know that the way you get somebody to do something is you offer them a reward.

[36:11] If you remember from where you've fallen if you repent renew your first love begin to make love to Jesus again then he says in verse 7 he says he that hath an ear let him hear what the Spirit saith to the church to him that overcome will I give to eat of the tree of life which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

[36:29] How many wants to eat of the tree of life? Where's the tree of life at? Where's the tree of life? Somebody tell me. It's in the midst of the tree of life of God. Amen. In the midst of the garden of God. The garden that was in Genesis second chapter.

[36:43] Amen. In the midst of the garden he put the tree of life. Can you say amen? In Revelation 22 and 1 and 2 he said and he showed me a pure river of water of life clear as crystal proceeding out of the throne of God and the Lamb and in the midst of the river and on either side was there the tree of life.

[36:59] He said if you'll overcome because you know what the world and the devil and the flesh is saying that preacher is crazy. All you got to do is get down there and say a few words and don't get don't get in this intercession and that all that you know all that you know that's just that's not necessary.

[37:19] That's what the devil's saying. It's not necessary. Don't do it. I'm trying to tell you today if you want to make love to Jesus if you want to eat of the tree of life which is in the midst of the paradise of God you got to learn to make love with him. He's got to be your lover.

[37:30] He's got to be first in your life. Amen. You got to put him as the supreme thing in your life and pleasing him. You know we sang a little song 50 years ago I want my life I want the Lord to be satisfied with me.

[37:43] I want my life to be what he'd have it be. Amen. And the way that we do that is we say yes Lord. Yes Lord. I'll say yes Lord yes to your will and to your way.

[37:55] Amen. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. The second church the church of Smyrna Revelation the second chapter 8 through 11 they're at the labor. Let me just read what it says about Smyrna.

[38:07] And to the angel of the church of Smyrna write these things said the first and the last which was dead and is alive I know your works your tribulations and your poverty listen to what it says to Smyrna I know your works and your tribulation and your poverty but thou art rich how many knows that godliness with contentment is great gain but thou art rich and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews and are not but of the synagogue of Satan fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer behold the devil shall cast some of you into prison who's going to cast you into prison the devil will cast some of you into prison that you may be tried who's he going to try what's it say in Peter there 4 and 12 he said he said beloved think it not strange concerning the fiery trials as though some strange thing has come upon you but rather rejoice because you've been made a partaker of the sufferings of Christ amen you know what what did Job say Job said he said I know that I'm going to be tried but when I'm tried

[39:08] I'm going to come forth as gold can you say amen Job 23 and 10 he knoweth the way that I take and when he hath tried me I shall come forth as gold the fire will destroy the wood the hay and the stubble that's in your life this is what he says here let me just let me start the first again here and unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write these things said the first and the last which was dead and is alive I know thy works and he told every church I know your works I know your tribulations and I know your poverty but thou art rich I know that I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews and are not but are of the synagogue of Satan the church of Satan fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer behold the devil shall cast some of you into prison that you may be tried and you may have tribulation you shall have tribulation ten days be thou faithful unto the end and I will give thee the crown of life you know what Paul said he said I have followed a good fight I've finished my course I've kept the faith henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of life amen hallelujah he said I'll give you a crown of life he that hath the near let him hear what the spirit saith unto the churches he that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death it's bad enough to die once anybody here want to die twice the second death let me just give you a couple scriptures on that second death real quick and these are scriptures that you probably already know

[40:34] Revelation 20 and 6 flip over there it's appointed unto man once to die if you die twice it's because you rejected Jesus Christ and his word amen you say brother man that you know I hear you but I just can't get into it you got to get into it and you got to pray that Jesus will open your mind and help me to understand it then just sit down there and begin to try to get into it somebody said I don't know how to study let me hear you say I don't know how to study what you need to do is decide first what you want to study on they got classes in school and when I was in school you were in this class for approximately an hour and then you learned English or literature and then the bell rang and you went from that class to this next class and then you would learn history or geography and then you went to the next class and you would learn arithmetic or math or something you know but when I was in this room

[41:37] I wasn't studying about something over here I was studying science and that's all I did I studied science when you go to the word of God just you know pick out what you want to study on get you a Strong's Concordance you get one for about $15 it'll help you to find those things if you don't already have a good date Bible where you can find it it'll help you to find those things and then you go down there and then just just write them down it takes time write all them scriptures down write it down this scripture says this this scripture says this and then say now God opened my mind put all this together so that I can understand what it's saying I do this all time I do this all time I got to get the big picture I want to know what is going on amen and you can learn to study most of us here not all but most of us here were high school dropouts amen we got some that were so smart that the teacher couldn't teach us anything because we knew more than they did so we quit school but just because you quit school don't have to mean that's the end of your education amen because when you get the Holy Ghost he will lead you and guide you he's a teacher he's a teacher amen and he will teach us everything that we need to know he'll teach you how to read you know one thing I hated to do in school get up before the class and read and I heard a great voice out of heaven

[43:04] I promise you if you will apply yourself God will teach you how to read and we can just jumble it all and I heard a great voice out of heaven saying behold the tabernacle of God is with men and it'll just flow but you've got to put the effort into it amen who had ever thought if you could see me in school you'd think that man will never be able to get in front of anybody and say anything he just don't have the ability the truth was I didn't I did not but God takes people who don't have the ability and gives them supernatural ability to do what they could not do if I could do it under my own strength I'd say well look at me because I know that if he don't anoint and he don't open my mind to receive the word of God I can't do anything I am nothing I know nothing I can do nothing amen but with Jesus Christ I am somebody and I know somebody amen I got friends in high places I got friends in low places amen he's not only the God of the mountain but he's a God of the valley can you say amen I'm not talking about low places like bars and hill holes and hell

[44:07] I'm talking about the valleys that we go through because David said yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I feel no evil for thou art with me can you shout amen today amen let me hurry along here because I'm running out of time amen the church of Smyrna it was a surfing church how far did I get down when I was oh wait let me just I was talking about this verse 6 in Revelation 20 blessed is he that blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection on whom the second death hath no power but they shall be priests of God now blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection on whom the second death shall have no power who's not going to have any power over you if you have power in the first resurrection the second death won't have any power over you but they shall be priests of God and of Christ and shall reign with him for a thousand years amen going on over to verse I have it written down here somewhere let me find it and then verse 20 and y'all never lose your place do you verse 10 look what verse 10 says and the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and oh yes this wasn't down far enough verse 14 and death and hell were cast alive into the lake of fire which is the second death amen but we don't have to take part in that if we will do everything that we can to make it and listen this thing is not outside of even the weakest Christians grip to go all the way to the top it don't have anything to do with what kind of knowledge that you got it don't have anything to do with with you know we were talking last night you know it's said in the

[46:23] United States of America where anybody can grow up to be president well that's just not true unless you were born to a family that has money and has a lot of power and possessions you don't have much chance of ever being able to mount a campaign that takes millions and millions of dollars to do amen but if you're a Christian if you're a child of God if you're born again then you are born into a family where your father has all the power amen and you can be everything that God has called you to be even the weakest Christian can do that could you quit flipping that pen thank you even the weakest Christian you say but brother man I just can't yes you can yes you can don't butt me that's what goats do goats butt and they're on the left side amen the sheep are on the right side and they're going into heaven the goats are going to be cast alive into hell amen yes you can but I can't yes you can but I can't study yes you can you're listening to the devil the devil's a liar amen you can

[47:25] I am more than a conqueror through Jesus Christ who strengthens me I can do it amen hallelujah hallelujah you can't go anywhere without the fire and listen let me just write this I wrote this all down Job 23 and he that he knoweth the way that I take and when he hath tried me I shall come forth as gold the fire will destroy the woodhead and the stubble in your life that tells you you can't do it that's what the fire of the Holy Ghost is is to give you the confidence that's why God gives you the confidence you shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost has come confidence that I can make it I can make it remember Sister Pat when we first got saved that little boy used to sing a song I stood at the bottom looking up at the hill and the hill was so tall and I was so small and I thought you know ain't no way I can never get there but he said he said each day that I climb new contentment I find and he promised me he promised me he said if you climb the top will be yours you can make it you can make it you know you can make it everybody here can make it everybody here can make it everybody everybody everybody here can make it here's what they had overcome people who say they're Christians and they're not how many of you know that there's people in every church that say I'm a Christian but they're not a Christian you know because

[48:45] God says you know by the fruits you should know them if I claim to be a Christian I walk outside of the church and I'm blaspheming and I'm cursing and I'm doing everything that you know that I shouldn't do oh but I'm a Christian do you know how many churches through the land that people do that and they claim they're Christian and if you're not careful you'll want to join with them well you know they don't have to pray and fast and do all these things you know and they're going to make it you know they're a Christian well honey you better know that you've got to overcome that spirit because they're under the wrong influence amen God wants us under the positive influence of the Holy Ghost that tells us that hey crucify your flesh remember when Brother Jesse preached on the principles that we're to do every day every day every day every day crucify your flesh take it to cross follow me amen you can't go anywhere without the fire you cannot grow without the fire of the Holy Ghost that's going to light your path for you amen you say well I'm a Christian or I'm a you know what they're saying I'm a Jew but if they live like hell then the life they live speaks so loud that you're able to say that hey don't follow them because they're going to lead you into the wrong path amen if you will persevere and be faithful unto death and to the end then God will give you a crown of life and he'll give you to eat of that tree of life which is in the midst of the paradise of God and every one of us here can make that amen the first the third church was a church of Pergamos he said to the church of Pergamos where's Pergamos at

[50:14] Pergamos was right here at the golden altar amen hallelujah to the church of Pergamos and what I'm saying these are the church ages that all the churches have grown up through and this is where we are right now we're in the church of Laodicea there's not any churches after Laodicea there's no churches after this church there's only seven churches and we're at the fullness of that time amen hallelujah Pergamos beginning of the 12th verse let me read it see what it says about Pergamos to the angel of the church of Pergamos write these things saith he which hath a sharp two-edged sword or the sharp store but two edges I know thy works where thou dwellest even where Satan's seed is and thou holdest fast my name and hath not denied my faith even in those days when Antipas was the faithful martyr who was slain among you where Satan dwelleth you know what it's saying it's saying here that Satan was in the church in Pergamos how many believe the devil's in this church amen because let someone know something happened and everybody just about falls apart amen he said

[51:31] I have a few but I have a few things against you because thou hast there of them that hold the doctrine of Balaam anybody know anything about the doctrine of Balaam who taught Balak to cast a stumbling block before the children of Israel and to eat things sacrificed on the idols and to meet fornication let's just talk about the doctrine of Balaam Balaam was a prophet when the children of Israel were coming out of Egypt old Balak went over there and tried to hire Balaam even though God said don't go with him they came back again even the more honorable ones first he sent servants then he sent the princes down there and he said oh God they've offered me a lot of money can't I go with him and God said alright but you only say what I tell you to say so they went up there and old Balak wanted him to curse the children of Israel because they were coming through the land and when he looked out upon them to curse them he said how beautiful aren't that then old Israel amen he began to bless them and man old Balak got mad but you know what Balaam finally did even though Balaam would not curse them he said

[52:33] I'm going to tell you what you can do and give me some of that money and then he goes into the doctrine of Balaam which he taught the lack how to set a trap for the children of Israel that then God would destroy them amen and that thing was does anybody know what that trap was the trap the doctrine of Balaam this is what he taught this is what he taught them to do he said you get you some women out there take all their clothes off because then when you realize that where they were and the kind of people that they were they worshiped the God Ashtoreth which is another name for Venus and part of their spiritual worship was orgies in church or orgies in their their temples they called them church they called them temple and you get out there and you get them dancing around before them before them them little Jew boys and they'll come over here and have sex with them and then because they've done that God will destroy them isn't this funny that 3,500 years later that God said that here in this church that this particular church here like this church of Pergamos that that same spirit is still in the church but it's not natural adultery or natural prostitution anymore it's spiritual adultery and spiritual prostitution amen amen hallelujah hallelujah and that was the doctrine of Balaam what's it say next that has also them to hate that hold the doctrine of the Nicolatanes and now what's the doctrine of the Nicolatanes this doctrine which meant to conquer the people to conquer the people to have ruling power over the people to demand the people and they'll follow you because you're just a big old brute that conquers the people that you don't have a choice you don't have a vote you just do what I tell you to do you have them that have the doctrine of the Nicolatanes and what did they do it says here that well it didn't tell you so I won't go into all that it says which things I hate it said repent or else I will come unto thee quickly and will fight against them with the word of my mouth which is the sword of his mouth which is his word he that had the near let him hear what the spirit said unto the church and to him that overcometh every promise in Ephesus and in Smyrna and in Pergamos is to him that overcometh amen will I give to eat of the hidden manna now where's hidden manna at?

[54:58] where was it what is manna? where you know God let heavenly bread come down in the wilderness and that was manna amen now they took some of that manna and they put it up where did they put that manna at?

[55:12] they took a pot of it and they put it somewhere huh? did anybody come to Brother Darrell's tabernacle study? yeah they put it in the holy of holies in the holy of the most holy place amen and who got to go in there?

[55:28] nobody but the high priest once a year what's he say? he that overcome I will give to eat of the hidden manna in other words you can come into the holy of holies and eat of this hidden bread Jesus said I am the bread of life that cometh down the father your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness and are dead but I am that bread of life that come down from heaven if you eat of me you shall never die you shall never die isn't that powerful?

[55:52] if you eat of this bread you shall never die he that have the near what I am here I give him the hidden manna and I give him a white stone anybody know what stone is white? it's a diamond how many like to have a diamond?

[56:09] if you overcome if you overcome he said I have a few what against you because you got that doctrine of Balaam not only are you sinning but you're trying to get other people to sin with you you're saying hey you don't have to live right do right walk right you know all those things that just basic Bible doctrine you don't have to do all that somebody shout amen I'll give you the you know these are the things that we have to overcome the stumbling block of Balaam the stumbling block of the Nicolatanes kind of you ever notice how everybody wants to be the boss?

[56:42] everybody wants to tell somebody else you listen to me now I'm going to run this show that's the doctrine of Nicolatanes to conquer the laity you're going to do it my way my way or the highway amen but if you do if you'll overcome these things I'll give you I'll give you the heat of the heat of the hidden manna the hidden word of God and how many knows that the word of God is hid you can't understand it unless God opens it up but if you'll overcome those things in your life God will feed you his word amen he said and not only that I'll give you a white stone and a white stone my notes down here call them victory stones amen that when they went into battle especially in the arena if you went in there and you were a gladiator and you won you know they could come over they'd either give you a white stone or a black stone they give you a black stone that's gonna kill you but if they gave you a white stone you could live and in that stone a name written can you say man a name which no man knoweth but he that receiveth it how many would like to have a stone with a name written in it nobody else can have it because it's yours because it's got a name written in it that no man else can have amen hallelujah hallelujah let me see what notes

[57:51] I got down here on that pergamos amen three things to overcome they had to overcome the devil's seat they had to overcome the headship want to run things ruling over things they had to overcome the opposition of the devil's army and the only way that you can find this this is through the fire of the Holy Ghost and through the peace that comes in knowing who Jesus is amen having that personal relationship the doctrine of Balaam who taught everybody how to defeat the people of God with the lust of the flesh the lust of the eyes and the pride of life John tells us that amen he said love not the world neither the things that are in the world if any man love the world the love of the Father is not in him for all that's in the world is the lust of the flesh anybody here got any lust of the flesh the lust of the eyes and the pride of life now listen have you noticed where these three things are they got nothing to do with anybody else the lust of the flesh it's happening in here happening in your mind the lust of the flesh the lust of the eyes not saying you're saying anything you're not doing anything with your hands the lust of the eyes and the pride of life love not the world neither the things that are in the world for all that is in the world is the lust of the flesh the lust of the eyes and the prize of life, and these things are not of God.

[59:16] Amen? Hallelujah. Praise God. Doctrine of the Nicoletanes, following after Nicholas. Nicholas was a heretic. You know what a heretic is?

[59:27] A heretic is one who believes opposite from what the Bible teaches. They also believe in something that's called G-N-O-S-I-S.

[59:40] Pronounce that. Gnosis. It means that you don't have to study the Word of God. I just know it. I have ESP.

[59:52] I know what God's will is. You don't have to read it. Yeah. Yeah. Gnosis. That's what part of what this was. Gnosis, which was a secular system of beliefs combining ideas derived from Greek philosophy and Oriental mysticism, stressing salvation through Gnosis, which is ESP and knowledge in spiritual matters when you don't know what you're talking about.

[60:18] They're taught in moral doctrines such as a community of wives. So you know how to prevent having adultery and having people to commit fornication?

[60:32] You marry all the women to all the men. So that you can take home a different woman every night. Well, you're married. You think, that sounds silly, doesn't it? Thirty-something years ago when I worked in the insurance business, there was a friend of mine whose father pastored a large church in Chicago, Illinois.

[60:48] And he went up there. His mother had passed away. And he went up there to his father's church one day and his dad had his arm around this pretty young girl and he said, this is my wife.

[61:03] Dad, I didn't know you got married. Yeah, I married all the men in church to all the women of the church. So there's no more adultery. You can take home, you know, whoever wants to go home with you. Think about it.

[61:17] Listen, we haven't got hardly that far yet. But how many preachers do we know that's got more wives than you can count on one hand, has had more wives than you can count on one hand?

[61:32] Anybody think the Bible teaches it's all right to have, you know, get married, just... Well, she didn't look right. She got old. They're beginning to sag. Swap her in, you know. Swap that old 38 in for 218.

[61:45] Amen? For 219. 19, 19, 30, I didn't. Anyway. But that was just all part of this Gnostics, you know, a community of wives.

[61:58] Brother D. wanted to trade his wife. He pushed over and said, hey, I might be able to swap you off. Amen? Conquest and triumph over the people.

[62:10] Jesus said, repent or else. I'll come quickly and I'll remove your candlestick. Amen? Repent or else. He gives every church, repent or else.

[62:21] Gives you an ultimatum. Repent or else. Repent or else. If you don't, here's what I'm going to do. Can you say amen? Amen. I'm just going to keep on talking.

[62:32] They come in here, so I don't know where to quit. So y'all just go with me. The fourth church was the church of Thyatira. It's over at the candlestick. This is the church that came through the dark ages.

[62:43] Remember, we have to overcome everything that was in all these churches if we want to be in the bride of Christ and be able to manifest the son of God. Can you say amen? And be able to will the power of the word of God.

[62:57] Go ahead. You don't want me to get into that.

[63:11] I found the best way to get around that is to not talk about it. Huh? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

[63:22] Brother L, you teach that thing some Wednesday night here, Monday, whenever you're going to teach it. But... ...

[64:00] Would you believe one of the things that God says that he hates, that God says, I hate this.

[64:51] And the thing that God hates is divorce. And it's sad to say, most people bring upon themselves that situation that you're talking about because...

[65:06] ...be not unequally yoked together with unbelievers. Sometimes our flesh wants us to have somebody, and God says, that ain't the one you're supposed to have, but you go ahead and get them anyway, and then you get in a relationship that you're not supposed to be in to start with.

[65:22] They said that... And this is Jesus Christ talking. He said that... And there's a lot to say on this, but I don't often touch on it because there's so many divorced people in the church, and I'm not trying to run people off.

[65:34] You know, I'm not the judge. I don't have the final say on anything. I'm just the one carrying the message. Will?

[65:53] Will? You know, answering Sandy's question because I've thought on these things for years and years and years, and I never had the guts to get up and try to preach on them because there's too many people that you can hurt, and I don't want to hurt anybody, ever.

[66:24] Never. Never. Well, Jesus said, from the beginning, it was not so.

[66:36] Moses granted them a bill of divorcement, and what they were asking is, is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any cause? That's what they asked Jesus. They put that question to him, and God said, Moses granted you a law of divorcement because of the hardness of your heart, but from the beginning, it was not so.

[66:57] God didn't make Adam and then give him a whole herd of women. I've asked some knowledgeable people this question.

[67:08] The Ten Commandments comes in Exodus 20, the chapter, and it says, Thou should not commit adultery. King David came along in Samuel, which is after Exodus and Moses and all that, and he has four or five wives.

[67:22] His son Solomon has 300 wives and 700 concubines. Were they not under the law? David is a man after God's own heart. What was that question you said?

[67:33] Oh, would they go to hell? Is that the one? You know, if you repent of your sins, what do you do? And I'm not saying this. I'm just asking you a question. All right.

[67:45] What? Well, the Lord gave you a question of, you know, and it was meant for one husband and one wife that God made Adam and Eve.

[68:02] He didn't make Adam and Eve and Eve and Eve and Eve. So, one husband and one wife. And, if you, if you, you're to repent and you turn from your sin, if I leave my wife and I go get married again, just say I do, and I go get married again, am I in adultery?

[68:20] If my wife hasn't left me and if my wife hasn't committed adultery. And then, then even Paul said, if they do commit adultery, put her away. But if anybody marries her, they're committing adultery. And if I go marry somebody, read Romans 7.

[68:32] I'm not trying to make this up. And I'm not trying to preach this doctrine. You know, you brought it up and, you know, I just give you a little insight because I thought a whole lot on it. And, and I chose not to try to preach on it because there are so many people.

[68:45] But do you know, this is part of the doctrine that we have to overcome? This community of wives where, you know, a preacher can have a stable. I've known pastors that were putting with every woman in the church that would look like anything to fool with.
