Sunday school.
[0:00] Good, good, I feel good, it's a wonderful, good. Every time I talk about Jesus, I feel good. Hallelujah.
[0:10] Mommy, you need more time. I've got more than one thing. You need to run back out here. Go sit, Mom. I'm going to get some brother else in the downtown kitchen.
[0:26] Come on, say I do, amen. Amen. You did a good job. Praise the Lord. You did a good job. Brother Jesse showed me last night, he said, look, there's 42 different things that, what are you?
[0:43] 42 different parts of unregenerated heart. Yep. 42, you thought it was just 13 steps into your heart. 42 different parts to your unregenerated heart.
[0:53] Amen. Amen. Hallelujah. I would that when we got saved, that, you know, the old heart went away and the new heart came in. But that's not exactly what happened. Totally.
[1:05] Amen. A seed does come in of your new heart, but that old heart is still there. That's why when someone comes along, you go and come to that fit. Yeah. You say, well, I'm not even saved anymore.
[1:16] Oh, yes, you are. The devil just comes to you. You're not saved. You are saved. But you're just not supposed to be saved. Woo! Because salvation is a continuing process. Amen. He's that endured to the end.
[1:28] Amen. He's that endured to the end. You're not going to make it, but if you do. That's why the man is saying is just hold on. Hold on. When you don't feel anything else, don't give up.
[1:40] Hold on. When you don't feel like praying and you can't feel anything and you can't cry and seem like the heavens are turned to grass, don't give up. Just hold on.
[1:50] Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. Amen. the morning is on its way resurrection morning is on its way amen amen oh I wrote some precious songs down this morning one of them said just as I am will that one please I got that in here that thy blood was shed for me O Lamb of God I come amen just as I am and waiting not weak and wounded sick and sore Jesus ready stands to save you soul full of pity love and power he is able he is willing and he asks no more think about it just as I am without one plea but that thy blood was shed for me and that thou best me come to thee O Lamb of God I come just as I am and waiting not to rid my soul of one dark blot to thee whose blood can cleanse each spot
[2:52] O Lamb of God I come can you shout amen today amen I uh I've got a lot to say this morning and a short time to say it in so y'all forgive me if I talk fast has anybody ever heard the saying God moves in mysterious ways his wonders to perform amen and the next thing out of people's mouths is that but that's not in the Bible well it may not be in the Bible but it's in Jameson Fauston Brown commentary you want to hear the rest of it God moves in mysterious ways his wonders to perform he plants his footsteps in the sea and he rides upon the storm deep and unfathomable minds of never failing skill he treasures up his bright designs and works his sovereign will his purposes will ripen fast unfolding every hour the bud may have a bitter taste but sweet will be the flower
[3:57] I just wish I wrote a little bit plainer so I wouldn't have to stutter my way through my writing there amen God moves in mysterious ways his wonders to perform amen thank you Jesus I always like to find little tidbits like that where you know you've heard them all your life there used to be an old courthouse proverb they'd sit down there at the courthouse and you know around doing their back and spitting watching everybody going up that's when I was a kid and all the old men just gathered around the courthouse sat out there and chewed their back and spit their juice and you know they'd talk the Bible God moves in mysterious ways his wonders to perform but you know they've quoted like scripture and it is true but it's just not in the Bible amen that way praise God but it is true and precious and powerful wonderful amen in Matthew the 27th chapter and in the 50th verse I didn't get to preach my Easter Sunday message last Sunday so Lord willing I'm going to preach it this Sunday or I preach as much of it as I can I usually get about three times as much as what I can get in in a few minutes but Matthew 27 and 50 through 61 says words like this and Jesus when he had cried again with a loud voice yielded up the ghost and behold the veil of the temple was written in twain from the top to the bottom and the earth did quake and the rocks rent and the graves were open and many bodies of the saints which slept arose and came out of the graves after his resurrection now that's very important right there that you get that amen when did when did the bodies of the saints which slept arose after his resurrection which was three days after he was crucified amen and appeared and went into the holy city and appeared unto many now when the centurion and they that were with him watching Jesus saw the earthquake and those things that were done they feared greatly saying truly this was the son of God even the Romans acknowledged and many women were there beholding afar off which followed Jesus from Galilee ministering unto him and among them was Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James and Josie and the mother of Zebedee's children and when the even was come there came a rich man of Arimathea named Joseph who also himself was Jesus' disciple and he came to Pilate and he begged the body of Jesus and then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered and then Joseph had and when Joseph had wrapped the body he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth and he laid it in his own new tomb which he had hewn out in the rock and he rolled a stone great stone to the door of the sepulcher and he departed and there was
[6:37] Mary Magdalene and the other Mary sitting over against the sepulcher let's bow our heads with the Lord in prayer Lord Jesus we thank you Lord God for this precious story today Lord God this isn't a this isn't a story but Lord this is a recounting Lord God of the events that took place Lord on that faithful day two thousand years ago when God manifested in the flesh amen came down and took upon himself all of our sins and bore our sins all the way to Golgotha's heel Lord God and allowed himself to be nailed to a cross because Lord your word said if I be lifted up I'll draw all men unto me we thank you Jesus for that sacrifice that you made Lord God we pray Lord your anointing upon this rest of this service this morning Lord God may somebody get something and everybody Lord get one little tidbit of what I minister this morning Lord that they might be able to take it home and Lord eat on this floor for the remainder of the week in Jesus precious name I pray and everybody say amen amen now if you ever become a student of the Bible and most Christians aren't a student of the Bible they believe it but they believe it by faith they don't really know what it says so they don't really know what all is in the Bible and what all it takes to understand it just to give you an example there are six
[7:41] Mary's in the New Testament six Mary's just to give you an example that you know who was standing around the tomb of Jesus and it's here in John 19 and 25 this is what it says here John 19 and 25 I'm sorry I'm in the wrong place it is in John 19 25 I was going to read it to you later that's why I wasn't there at that place but I'll just get it to you right now just to show you some of the difficulties in it there are six Mary's in the New Testament there are six Judas's there's four John's there's five James there's one Luke and one Jesus and three cleansings of the temple and three anointings of Jesus three anointings of Jesus you remember when the woman came in with the alabaster box of anointment three different times that happened amen and it's hard to keep them all straight when it happened and who it happened and who did it and there's ten Simons and five Simeons there's four gardens so and that's just touching on it because when you go to study it out and you're trying to separate it all out to get it straight in your mind so that you can give somebody an answer if they ask you a question then it gets kind of difficult amen but in John 19 and 25 listen to what it says now they're stood by the cross of Jesus now where are we at?
[8:58] we're at the cross amen we're at Golgotha and by the cross of Jesus his mother anybody know his mother's name? Mary amen and then there was his mother's sister you mean their mama named their two girls Mary?
[9:17] about like George Foreman named all his kids George yeah Mary's mother named her two daughters Mary and then what does it say?
[9:33] Mary the mother his mother and sister Mary the wife of Cleophas and Mary Magdalene and you think that's all but that's not all but we're not going there right now amen hallelujah what I want to talk about I've got three different subjects I want to talk about I want to talk about the holy women holy women holy women man it's hard to find holy women anymore you know but the holy women who were around Jesus at his crucifixion I also want to talk about the pleasure and the pain side that every one of us go through we just didn't understand what we were going through and I also want to talk about the four different degrees of glory amen that we can receive if we have come to the tomb amen so let me get along here this is just some new revelations on a story that's 2,000 years old and actually there's nothing to do under the sun 2 Timothy 3 16 says for we know that all scripture is given by the inspiration of God and it's profitable amen and this scripture
[10:35] I'm going to study on today is profitable for us in this day that we're studying and these holy women that were around the throne or around and you can't call it a throne he said if I be lifted up amen the cross was his throne here on earth amen and only one sat up on the throne I'm sorry to tell you but the father and the son and the holy ghost wasn't there in that they were one in him amen and there's three in one and there's one in three amen and one was hung on that cross just like it said in the book of revelation and one sat on the throne but there are three and there are one and it's a great mystery concerning the Godhead amen but around this cross there was holy women holy women who were not afraid of what men can do to them and did not care about what everybody what the scribes and the Pharisees and the Sadducees or Pontius Pilate or Caesar or anybody else thought they followed Jesus they loved him with an undying love and these women are a type and a picture and a shadow of the bride of the Lord Jesus Christ amen that they would follow him wherever he went and regardless of the danger regardless of the peril and nothing could by any means stop them amen they followed Jesus when all the men except John the beloved had forsaken him they followed him to the cross and from the cross they followed him to the grave and you got to understand this that God has scales in everybody's life and we're all on these scales if I can draw you a picture of a scale a scale that has one straight rod and then it has an arm going down this side and an arm going down that side and then there's little pans on the scales amen and if you read
[12:15] Psalms 11 Psalms 16 and 11 it says at thy right hand are pleasures forevermore amen then if God's right hand speaks of pleasures forevermore and where is Jesus Christ sitting at he's on the right hand of the Father in heaven amen making intercession for the Son then it stands to reason that on the left hand there is pain amen so when we don't know what we're going through honey you got to realize that God has got you on his scales on his balance amen that means when you read Isaiah 9 and 6 it says for unto us a child is born and a son is given and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor Mighty God Everlasting Father and the Prince of Peace and the government shall be upon his shoulder amen now that word shoulder when you check it out means scale the government amen God's government and what is God's government typified in the Old Testament it's in the table of showbread amen God's government is on his shoulder God's government is in a scale and God's going to balance your pleasure with your pain you may be going through all kind of hell right now you may think that nobody loves you you may think that nobody cares about you that nobody you may think that you're the lowest scum of the earth and that you're the worst person the worst Christian you may even think like the Apostle Paul that you're the cheapest of sinners but let me tell you what
[13:26] Jesus said I love you enough that I'll die for you and they not only said it but then he backed it up with his actions can somebody shout amen hallelujah these followed Jesus these holy women and John followed him on the pain side of the cross what do you think they were doing when they walked down they actually walked the Via Della Rosa with Jesus with Jesus I walked there 2,000 years after he walked there but honey I can imagine the crowds as the crowds were all just throwing in some sightseers and some people that were worshippers but honey among all them there was Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Jesus and Salome and different ones there was about 5 or 6 women that the Bible records that stayed with him they didn't care what the centurion said they didn't care what anybody said they said that's our Lord that's our Savior that's our bridegroom and we're going with him all the way can somebody shout amen but they went they went up they went up weeping and wailing and crying we're put on the pain side to see if we really have the goods anybody can serve God on the pleasure side when everything is going good man he fed 5,000 with fish in the loaves of men not counting women and children how many did he really feed and there was always the multitude that was there when he was healing the sick grazing the dead casting out devils but then when it came time and he said these faithful words except you eat my flesh and drink my blood you have no part with me he said from that time many of them went back he turned around and looked at his 12 disciples his 11 disciples and he said would you go also and they said
[14:58] Lord to whom shall we go for only you had the words of life you remember the faithful story when Jesus and they're at the last supper and Jesus said he said many shall be offended of me this night many shall be offended because of me and because they're going to take me and they're going to kill me they're going to crucify me and Peter jumps up and he says Lord said I'll die with you how many remembers Peter saying that but most people don't remember the rest of it where all the other disciples said the very same thing we'll die with you but here he is man what happened hey Peter and James and John they're there at the garden of Gethsemane with him and he's in there praying and he's trying to get them to stay awake he's there praying and he's trying I stop and I hesitate then because I come to a lot of times you come to minister to people and you know what they do you get up there to minister and they immediately go and they're going to stay there and sleep till I wake up till they wake up and I get through amen when they hear amen they say boing you can wake up now but Peter and John they were all asleep and suddenly you know Jesus comes to them the third time and he said alright sleep on now for he that's going to betray me is here and then there came Judas with the soldiers and Judas came up and gave him the kiss of betrayal the Judas kiss amen and Peter he jumps up there you know and well they're going to take Jesus away and he jerks out his sword and he cuts one of the servants of the high priest ear off and Jesus walks over to him and he said son put up your sword said he that liveth by the sword is going to die by the sword and he puts his hair back on the side of his head and he's healed amen high in the world high in the world what kind of demonic you know minds could anybody have that when they saw a miracle right before their eyes and then and then and then wait till he gets on the cross and the earthquakes and the sun don't shine no more and the rocks are in and then they say surely this was the son of God honey I'd have believed him from the first miracle wouldn't you man would be hey just to have felt his love just to have been in his presence oh my lord honey well let me tell you what
[17:03] I said a while ago these women they followed him they followed him everywhere he went they ministered to him everywhere he went he needed to drink of water they'd bring him he wanted something to eat whatever he needed they were there to minister to him amen and they didn't leave him when all the persecution came but they followed him all the way to the cross and they ministered to him every step of the way and they were constantly with him and wailing and weeping and crying and interceding and travailing amen that maybe somehow he'd be spared but you know a lot of people quit when you die but you know what these women didn't quit when Jesus died the bible says that they watched him where they took him and what tomb they put him in does anybody know why they watched where they took Jesus to let me tell you why they watched because they said we're gonna come back hey I've done everything I could do for him while he was alive but now I'm gonna see what I can do for him after he's dead can you say amen amen oh my they were on the pain side they were weeping they were wailing they were crying a lot of folks wonder why we come to church and we get down here and we got the lights turned down and we're weeping and crying and you know the bible said he's gonna give you the spirit of joy for ashes and all these different things so y'all don't have to cry anymore only what we're doing is we're fellowshipping Jesus on the pain side and then we turn on the lights and we get to begin to shout you know what happens then God brings that big scale over he said alright you fellowship me on the pain side
[18:24] I'm gonna let you fellowship me on the glory side on the resurrection side on the life side amen then we can get up and shout and speak in tongues and dance amen hallelujah hallelujah God is faithful to balance the scales in your life you're going through something you don't understand what you're going through honey don't worry that God he's faithful if he's not anything else but he is everything else but he's faithful that he will balance your scales and he's gonna bring you the pleasure amen once you have learnt your lesson on the pain side amen and what happens if we don't learn our lesson we go through it again and we go through it again until finally we say yes thank you Jesus oh my Lord and you know your actions speak louder in your words can somebody shout amen amen praise the Lord amen these women followed Jesus as they walked the Via Della Rosa with Jesus on the pain side they followed him all the way to Galgatha and still they followed him to the borrowed tomb weeping and wailing and crying all on the pain side of the scales these women watched where they had laid him because they were gonna come back and they were gonna diminish her to his body amen and thank you what more can I do what more can I do what more can I do have you ever stopped you know we're always asking Jesus
[19:38] Lord what can you do for me you know I like what John F. Kennedy said that's not what your country can do for you but that's what you can do for your country hey he just turned that around and put that to Christians Christians don't ask what God can do for you say Jesus what can I do for you ask what you can do for him amen amen Jesus said these words hey the words that I do shall you do if you wanna know what you can do he said heal the sick raise the dead cast out devils amen freely receive freely give can somebody shout amen how did it go with me to Mark the 14th chapter and the first verse Mark 14 and 1 amen hallelujah let's see what he says here Mark 14 and 1 through 9 and after two days was the feast of the Passover of unlabored bread and the chief priests and the scribes saw how they might take him by craft and put him to death but they said not on the feast day lest there be an uproar of the people and being in Bethany and Jesus loved Bethany amen in the house of Simon the leopard as he said at me there came a woman having an alabaster box of spikenard with very precious and she broke the box and poured it upon his head and there were some with them that had indignation within themselves and they said why was this waste of the ornament made for it had been it might have been sold for more than 300 pence and had been given to the poor and they murmured against her
[21:06] Jesus said let her alone why trouble ye her she has wrought a good work on me for ye have the poor with you always and whensoever you will you may do unto them but me you have not always she has done what she could she has come a forehand to anoint my body to the burying verily I say unto you what wheresoever this gospel shall be preached throughout the whole world this also that she hath done shall be spoken of her of a memorial for her can you say amen hallelujah verse 8 what's verse 8 say she has done what she could that she might come before him to anoint my body to the burying amen this was one of the women and she was in this was Lazarus' sister and they're in Bethany at the house of Simon the leper amen and she's come to anoint him before him flip on over to Mark 16 just turn your page there beginning of the first verse there Mark 16 it says and when the Sabbath was passed
[22:07] Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James and Salome had brought sweet spices that they might come and anoint Jesus amen that they might come and anoint Jesus let me see what notes I got wrote down here on this Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of Jesus brought sweet spices that they might come and anoint Jesus where's all the men at he's done crucified now where's the men notice they never mentioned the stone now they followed into the tomb they saw him laid inside the tomb if you'll notice they took Jesus' body and the Bible said that they wrapped him with a hundred pounds of spices and then they put him in the tomb and they rolled the stone to the door now this stone was round on the top and flat on the bottom so that you could roll it over but when it came down honey it sat flat and it wasn't going to be moved did you notice that they had such faith that they never asked who's going to move the stone for us how are we going to get in there to minister to his body but they were walking by faith amen and if you want to find real faith you almost have to find a woman to find any real faith amen you want to find somebody that's really going to minister to you you just about have to find a good holy woman to minister to you sounds kind of bad on the men doesn't it amen amen but let me tell you what men women have a capacity to love and a capacity to endure pain and a capacity for understanding that most men just can't comprehend it just goes beyond our comprehension amen hallelujah thank you Jesus on the pain side still weeping and wailing but now God was now ready to bow and search scales you know what the Romans
[23:45] Romans 18 says Paul said for I am I reckon that the that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in me I reckon I reckon I judge that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be revealed with the glory which shall be revealed in me amen now we're going to find this statue here that I was telling you about earlier about how those four degrees of glory amen and the word glory is just another word for life in John the 20th chapter in the first verse John 20 and 1 let's see what it says right here praise the Lord amen John 20 and 1 there's four different accounts to the women when they came to the tomb in John 20 and 1 it says and the first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early when it was yet dark now can anybody tell me who came to the tomb when did she come and how much light did she have it was dark dark means no light because you don't darkness means the absence of light amen and she was by herself man can you imagine walking into a graveyard early in the morning before dark before daylight and you know what the Bible said and she saw through the eyes of faith she saw that the stone was rolled away now now just hold on to that thought right there then she runneth next verse and cometh to Simon Peter and to the other disciples whom
[25:21] Jesus loved and she saith unto him they have taken away the Lord out of the sepulcher and we know not where they have laid him amen when did she come early while it was yet dark alright now go with me just don't lose that place go back to Matthew the 20 28 chapter of Matthew and how many did she have with her she came alone amen came Mary Magdalene alone listen Matthew 28 1 it says in the end of the Sabbath as it began to dawn wait a minute a while ago it was dark now God the Bible said that the Holy Bible was written by men of God as they were moved upon by the Holy Ghost amen and they wrote these things down to give us little nuggets that we could dig and dig and get something new out of it and in the end of the Sabbath as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week came Mary
[26:25] Magdalene and the other Mary to the sepulcher now we got two as it began to dawn in other words first there was no light there was darkness second time and she was by herself the second time now she it's her and Mary Magdalene two Marys and they're coming as it began to dawn amen hey glory in the end of the Sabbath more light began to dawn Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulcher now there's two let me read on down through here about six more verses and behold there was a great earthquake and the angel of the Lord descended from heaven and he came and he rolled back the stone from the door and he sat upon it and his countenance was like lightning and his raiment white as snow and for fear of him the keepers did shake and became as dead men and the angel how many one angel and the angel answered and said unto the women fear not for I know and who did he speak to to the women to the women amen fear not
[27:32] I know that you seek Jesus which was crucified he is not here for he is risen as he has said come see the place where he lay and go quickly and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead and behold he goeth before you into Galilee and there ye shall see him as I have told you can you say amen let me read two more verses here they departed quickly from the sepulcher with fear and with great joy and did run to bring his disciples the word and as they went to tell him his disciples behold Jesus met them saying all hell and they came and they held him by the feet and they worshipped him who was it who was it did he stop Mary Magdalene and the other Mary and what did they do what did they do where did they grab him at oh they grabbed his feet amen they fell down on their face in humility and grabbed a hold of his nail scarved feet amen and they worshipped him then said Jesus unto them be not afraid go tell my brethren that they that they go into
[28:32] Galilee and there they shall see me now I want to go another place here amen if we will fellowship his pain side his crucified side if we are following to the tomb and how many knows that that Paul said I am crucified with Christ nevertheless I live yet not I but now Christ live within me amen we have to crucify we have to walk a crucified walk follow a crucified Christ to the place of crucifixion if we ever want to find the resurrection glory amen and sure we're going to suffer pain sure we're going to suffer not being understood and people not wanting to fellowship us because honey they're not on that side they're not on that level because God has caused us to walk in the way of the cross amen there wasn't nobody following Jesus but these holy women and they were all on the pain side hallelujah now go with me to Luke the 24th chapter and the first verse Luke 24 amen first it was dark and then they had a little light as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week and now we back here at
[29:43] Luke 24 amen see what it says here in verse 1 now in the first day of the week very early in the morning they came into the sepulcher bringing the spices which they had prepared and certain others with them and they found the stone rolled away and the sepulcher and they entered in and they found not the body of the Lord the Lord Jesus now let's back up here and let's read this again now upon the first now they indicates more than one bringing the spices and when they had prepared which they had prepared and certain others with them now you got more than one and then you have others which signifies several people amen and they found the stone rolled away and the sepulcher from the sepulcher and they entered in and they found not the body of the Lord Jesus now what did they do they entered in and they found not the body of the
[30:44] Lord Jesus and it came to pass as they were much perplexed there about behold there stood a while ago there was one angel now we got two angels can you say amen there stood two men by them in shining garments and if you just read Acts 1 and 10 it said and as Jesus ascended up into heaven there appeared two men and white raiment and they said you men of Galilee why stand you gazing up into the heaven this same Jesus whom you have seen go away shall come in like manner as you seen him go can you say amen they're standing in shining garments and as they were afraid and they bowed down their faces to the earth and they said to them why seek you the living among the and he was yet in Galilee saying the son of man must be delivered unto the hands of sinful men and be crucified and the third day rise again and they remembered his words and then returned from the sepulcher and then and returned from the sepulcher and told all these things unto the eleven and to all the rest and here who it was and it was
[31:58] Mary Magdalene and Joanna and Mary the mother of James and other women where's the men and they went and told these things unto the disciples and their words seemed as idle tales and they believed them not just like a bunch of doubting men the disciples the ones that seen all the miracles amen how far do I want to read I want to stop right there and now let's go to Mark 16 back to Mark 16 this gets kind of blows your mind when you see this because more light dark beginning to dawn and then early in the morning darkness at the beginning of dawning and then early in the morning and then let's see what it and it was at the rising of the sun can you shout amen there's different degrees of glory and we can get these different degrees of glory and we come to
[33:27] Jesus early in the morning sometimes we come to him and it's dark and we have to look through eyes of faith and believe that the stone is rolled away and he's not there and he's risen amen because without him there is no hope without him there is no salvation without him there is no healing without him there's nothing oh but through eyes of faith we can see because he lives!
[33:47] we shall live also can shout amen glory to God glory to God let me just read on down through here oh hallelujah hallelujah I'm going to start in verse 3 now let me wipe the tears out of my eyes and they said among themselves who shall roll away the stone from the door the sepulcher and they came and by faith who's going to roll the stone away we're talking about a stone that weighed you know couple thousand pounds you know ton weight that was blocking the door not only that it had been sealed and it had four quantillion of soldiers around it they wasn't worried about the seal they wasn't worried about the quantillion they wondered who's going to roll the stone away I can see them right now honey if they had to all them women would have got down there got their little fingers them going to minister to him one last time and when they looked they saw that the stone was rolled away for it was very great and they entered into the sepulcher and they saw a young man sitting on the right side clothed with a long white garment and they were afraid they saw one a young man clothed in a long white garment they were scared amen and he said it to them be not afraid you see
[35:17] Jesus of Nazareth which was crucified he is risen he's not here behold the place where they laid him but go your way and tell his disciples and Peter go your way and tell his disciples and tell Peter I like that tell Peter tell Peter Peter said Lord I'll never forsake you I'll never deny you I'll die with you Jesus said oh Peter said before the cock crows twice you're going to deny me thrice I'll never forsake you Lord and all the disciples said likewise he said so go tell my disciples and tell Peter send them the message amen that he goes before you into Galilee and there you shall see him as he said unto you and they went out quickly and fled from the sepulch and they trembled and were amazed neither said they anything to any man for they were afraid now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week he appeared first to Mary Magdalene out of whom he had cast seven devils why in the world did he appear first unto
[36:20] Mary Magdalene why not to Mary the blessed mother amen hell Mary thou art highly favored among women blessed art thou in the fruit of womb the bride of the Lord Jesus Christ amen what hey I believe this was the very one that was taken in the act of adultery when everybody was gathered around there said the law says stoner now what do you say Jesus and Jesus said let he without sin cast the first stone he wrote down on the ground they began to write their sins down when he looked up again they all were loveth most he that is forgiven the most loveth the most how much more she she literally owed her life her natural life but she also owed her spiritual life to the son of
[37:21] God amen to Jesus Christ her Lord and her Savior and she is the hey she's the type of the hundred and twenty fold amen of the bride of the Lord Jesus Christ the elite when all the other women and Mary and Salome and Joanna and all of it left she remained hallelujah I'll read that to you in just a moment now when Jesus was risen early in the first day of the week he appeared first to Mary Magdalene and out of whom he had cast seven devils and she went and told him told them that she had seen him and they and they and they mourned and wept why are they mourning and weeping now they told the men why is the men just now getting around mourning and weeping from the time they took him out of the garden all the way to the cross but you don't hear about the men mourning and weeping now when she tells him he he arisen oh now it's time to mourn and weep no past time that's just like the song of the children of
[38:28] Israel they sang the song on the wrong side amen one side of the red sea they were accusing God you know you've been better if we had been left back you know they're prophesying out the bells of mine been better if you left us back there in Egypt then on the other side you know God has prevailed the Lord and the writer!
[38:43] they're! in the sea you know Peter and John should have been should have been right there with the women and all the disciples amen they should have walked down that building said Lord we're marching to the cross with you you remember the story of Spartacus it's Greek history when there was one man that stood up and against the oppression of I suppose he was a Jew because I don't I remember seeing this Spartacus and one man began to say because he was a hero one man over here said I'm Spartacus another guy said hey I'm Spartacus another guy said hey I'm Spartacus and finally they said which one is Spartacus so you know what we're going to do we're going to put up a bunch of crosses and we're going to crucify every one of you and they all were crucified wouldn't that have been something if there had been 11 crosses 12 crosses on that hill Jesus and his 11 disciples all down the sides of that hill amen if the men that loved him like the women loved him they would have been there crucified with him amen but then who would have went out and told the world we would never have passed 1st 2nd
[39:51] Peter and 2nd John and Jude and and so and so we got so and so and so and so we got so and that was his son and they don't even count the women but let me tell you what the women got one of the greatest roles to play and the church of Jesus Christ is a type of the women and we've got a great major role to play amen to follow Jesus wherever he goes to follow him down the Via Della Rosa to to Golgotha's Hill and then from there to the tomb and then to come back and stay there and wait for resurrection morning to come amen because resurrection is on its way because he lived I shall live also amen and when she went and told them that had been with him the disciples as they mourned and wept and they when they had heard that he was and had been seen of her believed her began to jump up and down and shout and dance and sing and hop around and said oh my lord he's alive he's alive he's alive oh that didn't say that and they when they had heard that he was alive and had been seen of her believed not isn't that amazing that blows my they believed not all these great men of faith that we preach about we sing about we talk about believe not can you say amen hallelujah now go to
[41:34] John 20 please hallelujah they were on the pain side they wanted to stay on the pain side but be sure be sure God will balance your scales!
[41:46] and he balances your scales in Jesus Christ can you say amen and here in John 20 I went down a different way last week I might even go down that way a little bit this week amen hallelujah hallelujah!
[42:02] hallelujah! hallelujah! John 20 beginning in the first verse everybody found it? the first day of the week come to Mary Magdalene early when it was yet dark and to the sepulcher and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulcher then she runneth and cometh to Simon Peter and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved and saith unto them they have taken away the Lord out of the sepulcher and we know not where they have laid him then Peter therefore went and the other disciple and they came to the sepulcher and they ran both together and the other disciple did outrun Peter and he came first to the sepulcher and he stooping down and looking in saw the linen clothes lying yet went he not in then Simon Peter following him and went into the sepulcher and seeth the linen clothes lie and the napkin that was about his head not lying with the linen clothes but wrapped together in a place by itself then he went in also and that other disciple which first came to the sepulcher and he saw and believed and as yet they knew not the scripture that he must rise from the dead again and the disciples went away unto their own homes
[43:08] Peter and John went because Mary done told him he's gone John beat him to the sepulcher stooped down looked in he didn't see one angel he didn't see two angels he didn't see nobody when Peter got there he just went right on past John and ran into the sepulcher then found him there and so they turned around and went home you know what the next verse says but Mary stood without at the sepulcher weeping and as she wept she stooped down and looked into the sepulcher and she see two angels in white sitting one at the head and the other at the feet where the body of Jesus had lain and they said unto her woman why weepest thou that's the way you address a stranger and she said unto them because they have taken away my Lord and I know not where they have laid him and when she had said thus she turned herself back she turned herself back and when she turned around and knew not that it was Jesus and Jesus said unto her woman oh my Lord oh oh see God first called a woman in the garden the Bible said it's not good for man to be alone so man
[44:37] God put man to sleep and he took a rib out of him and he made a helpmate and he called a woman for she was taken out of man amen and then verse 2 chapter 2 15 says and he put man in the garden to keep the garden and to dress it and to protect it can you say amen he said woman why weepest thou whom seekest thou and she's supposing him to be the gardener why did she think he was the gardener why did she think he was the gardener huh why did God put Adam and Eve in the garden where did he put them at in the garden and you put a gardener in the garden if I see somebody out in the garden I'm going to say there's the gardener and there's the garden amen the Bible said the first man Adam was made a living soul but the last man Adam was made a quickening spirit this is a revelation you got to grasp it or you're missing God put the first man Adam in the garden to dress the garden and to keep it what does the word dress mean that means to to keep all the weeds out and to hoe it and to plant it and to cultivate it and to whatever amen why does the word keep mean it means to watch over and to protect this is the very first mention in the Bible that there may be something that's going to come in the garden and mess it up garden because a garden is a place where you sow your seed that little lady right back there that's my garden
[46:12] I sowed my seed in her 37 years ago and May the 13th I'm going to have a daughter that's 13 years old because I sowed my seed May the 13th she's going to be 37 years old we just had our 38th wedding anniversary by the way amen why did the devil want why did the devil want in the garden he walked off through the garden what was he looking for he was looking for the woman he was looking for the garden of Adam amen you know what the word gardener means the word gardener means husband man husband man a husband man is one who goes in the garden and he tills the garden amen isn't it odd that Adam was a gardener and he was a husband man and Jesus Christ is our husband man amen what did the devil want it to do you remember the story about the tares and the wheat the bible said and a farmer went out and he sowed the seed in his ground good seed and then the dead and he came along behind him and he sowed the tares amen the devil wanted to sow some tares in Adam's garden and he did and he put seeds of doubt in her mind on the word of God and she said hey God
[47:19] God said we'll die and the devil said no you won't surely die but you'll be as God's knowing good and evil think about it he sowed the seeds of doubt in Adam's garden she partook of the tree of knowledge of good and evil and immediately she knew she was naked she lost her glory she lost her relationship no more would she hear the voice of Jesus walking in the garden in the cool of the day Adam came along he saw her nakedness and he said he had never seen her naked before because they were covered with the glory of God and they knew not that they were naked is what the bible says and he partook of the tree of knowledge of good and evil he ate and he lost his glory because he saw her nakedness you know what that means the bible says we're all of life passioners of Elijah amen you give me a man that can look at a naked woman and he's not affected and I'm going to show you somebody that's got a serious emotional problem and he's probably a homosexual or something and again if you turn around and look at a woman like a man and you get turned on then honey you really got a bad serious problem amen because God made Adam male and then he made female he didn't make them male and male and female and female amen amen hallelujah hallelujah so he saw her nakedness and he knew that she was lost over in the new testament it says that the woman was deceived but the man was not deceived beginning the transgression and so they went and they made them
[49:04] I don't think I preached on this last week they made them coverings of garments call them aprons and the word apron actually means an armor an armor they armed themselves with armor they were going to to revolt against God you know like yeah we did it what of it you're not going to kick us out the bible said in the voice of the lord came walking in the garden in the cool of the day and he said Adam Adam wherefore art thou Adam and Adam finally said we're over here he said why are you hiding for he said because we're naked he said who told you that you're naked what have you done Adam and then Adam began to pass the buck and Adam said well lord the woman that you gave me she gave me the tree and I did it and the woman said well the serpent and this began to pass the buck amen and we're still passing the buck nobody wants to take take the you know responsibility for their own blame we want to pass it on to somebody else hallelujah hallelujah let me wrap this up my time's just about up here hallelujah many didn't understand why they had came into the service and they hear us we're weeping we're crying we're moaning we're groaning we're getting down here they do that all the time some people purposely did make up their mind
[50:20] I'm not going to get there in time but partake of all that crying and wailing and people act like they're you know somebody did in there and they're mourning somebody at a funeral that's what we're doing we're fellowshipping the death of Jesus Christ because if we he said if you fellowship me and my sufferings then I will share my glory with you amen that's why I'll guarantee the ones who are doing the most mourning and weeping and wailing and crying when the lights come up and the power comes down they are the ones who are shouting and shaking and hollering and hooping and rolling and cartwheeling the most amen because most of the time that's the one that's been the biggest sinner in the bunch and deserved the very least the mercy of God but God extended his mercy to them and they reached out and grabbed that hand of mercy they said thank you Jesus now I don't care I'm not ashamed to dump to shout to sing to pray to cry to weep to mourn because Lord I know that I am yours and you are mine let me give you a few scriptures here real quick here hallelujah Paul got the revelation of pleasure and pain in Philippians 3.10 he said that I may know him and the fellowship of his suffering being made conformable unto his death
[51:26] Paul got the revelation of suffering and pain that I may know him and the fellowship of his suffering being made conformable unto his death that's Philippians 3.10 in 1 Corinthians 2.1 and 2 Paul said for I am determined to know nothing among you save Jesus Christ and him crucified nevertheless Galatians 2.20 I am crucified with Christ nevertheless I live yet not I but Christ liveth in me and the life that I lie live in the flesh I live it by the grace of him who loved me and gave himself for me can somebody shout amen so today we've learned about the pleasure and the pain hallelujah that God's got scales we've learned about that there's different levels of glory that we can find when we come to the tomb and fellowship Jesus in his death and if we fellowship him in his death then we'll also get to fellowship him on the resurrection side amen we found out that there's degrees of glory that we can attain depending on how we come and with what attitude we come with some people say well it's another Saturday no I guess I'll go to church oh hell ball game ain't on
[52:33] UK ain't playing the derby ain't in town and it ain't thunder over Louisville so I'll go to Louisville I'll go to church amen and others on the other hand they're saying hey it don't matter if it's Kentucky Derby or it's thunder over Louisville or if they're having a picnic right down the street and everything is free amen hey I'm going to the house of God I'm like little David when he said I was glad when they said unto me let us go into the house of the Lord can somebody shout amen from the house of the Lord there's blessings there's healings there's everything I need God has provided it for us and somebody shout amen amen I got a question sure on Genesis 3 314 I'm going to read it and you can tell me what to do and the Lord God said unto the serpent because thou hast done this thou art cursed above all cattle and above every beast of the field upon the belly shalt thou go and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life did the serpent serpent at one time before this happened did it walk upright yeah always always always related to the serpent as the snake you want you want what the serpent look like yeah yeah that's water okay it was like a little ball it what he says now it lost his glory remember
[54:07] I don't remember Noah came on the mountain Noah Moses came on the mountain and came on the mountain because of the praise of God just count us three years ago he was beautiful but then when he he said I I I I will exalt my throne by the star of the God I will I will dwell on the sides of the Lord I will be like the most high he lost his glory and then darkness came and now there's two different kingdoms in this world and you read about in first the fifth chapter when he talks about that we're no longer children of darkness but we're children of light amen all Christians are children of light and all children are children of darkness and we have passed we have passed from God to the life but the devil and then you go to
[55:22] Genesis the fifth chapter and the sons of men came to look the door of the sons of God came to the door of the men amen amen and they should lead to the dust of the earth what is the dust of the earth the bible said from dust that art the dust that shall return so what does the devil do he eats on us he eats on us we want to serve God so bad and we're trying to serve God everything and we let down just one little minute the devil just reach in there and bites us amen trying to get his poison his venom into us amen remember man Achilles he had a heel amen that heel stopped him from winning the race amen if we and what does it say the heel his heel shall bruise thy head amen honey you got to keep your heel covered amen that heel was a type of Jesus Christ and he bruised that word bruised that's not a good translation the word bruised means actually to crush the heel of Jesus
[56:29] Christ crush the head of the serpent the devil the dragon on Calvary's cross and he's already defeated being amen but God has allowed him and the devil you know the devil is not equal with God the devil is not at war with God he is no match for God God created him and God can snuff him out at any time but God is allowing the devil to test us and try us and the devil brings believe it or not he's the one that brings the pain side amen on the pain side of the scales but if we'll just be faithful look on past him and say God I'm not going to turn back you know you know if my car breaks down on the way home if I have a wreck and I get killed or my wife gets killed or whatever you know what would it take what you know the devil he tried to put Job and how many knows that Job was on the pain side of the scale my Lord he lost all of his possessions and finally he lost even his children and the
[57:31] Bible said in all these things Job sinned not amen well I found out that you know when I'm reading the Bible take one verse I mean any verse one verse you can skate on it for a week it's just any one single verse you think I need the Bible you know the lady I ride with she said well what do you think of me well it ain't important what I think of me because the mortal person need might not be thinking what God is trying to bring across me and until I get right to God and get researched and understanding what's going on you know I might say I heard something I was wrong and she said no no no no no no no no no no no no no哪裡 no
[58:35] You've got to realize where that is going. Well, I've put out a lot of questions there this morning, like how many women were actually at the tomb? Who did go back and take the word?
[58:48] If the other women went back, then what was Mary Magdalene still doing there? How did all this happen? How many angels was there? Was it one? Was it two? How many women was it? Mary, Mary Magdalene, Mary, the mother of Jesus, Mary, you know, mother of James and John and Salome and Joanna.
[59:02] Well, one thing for sure, they all wanted to be named Mary, didn't they?
[59:29] Do you know what the name Mary means? Rebellion. Believe it or not, the name Mary means rebellion.
[59:40] It's the Greek translation of the Hebrew, Miriam. And what did Miriam do? Miriam and Aaron rebelled against Moses.
[59:52] All right. Did it? Amen. Amen. Amen. Let's all just stand up.
[60:08] Let's pray over the word this morning. Hallelujah. Lord Jesus, Lord, I know that, Lord, I am not smart enough, Lord, to figure out one little simple principle, Lord God, that's in all your precious word.
[60:23] And Lord, only Lord, as your spirit moves upon my mind, Lord, to show me these different things, Lord God. Can I even try to get something to come out here and present to your people? And Jesus, I love you and I praise you, Lord God, because, Lord, you have saw fit to let this little measure of light to shine, Lord, here in Riverside.
[60:40] Lord God, so that one day, Lord, we're going to stand before you, and, Lord, we're going to have to give an excuse, or, Lord, give a reason, Lord, for why we have not, Lord, God, lived according to the light that you've signed upon us here at Riverside.
[60:52] Lord God, continue, Lord Jesus, I pray, Lord God, to open my own mind. Lord, let the light of the word of God shine in the darkness of my mind and my heart, Lord God. Lord, to give me in the knowledge, Lord, in the face of you, Jesus, in the presence.
[61:05] Lord God, that I might greater understand your word, Lord, because that's my heart's desire. Lord God, to know you, Lord Jesus, and be like the Apostle Paul. Lord, determined to know nothing but Jesus Christ and him crucified.
[61:16] Lord, that I might be able, Lord, to fellowship you on the resurrection. In Jesus' name. And everybody say amen. Amen. All right, who had the little class this morning? Praise the Lord.
[61:32] Praise the Lord.
