[0:24] Yeah. I don't know if it's going to look like that. I am very glad to be here. I'm thankful, thankful, thankful, thankful for a spirit-filled church.

[0:38] Doesn't matter what you wear. It doesn't matter what you look like or what you smell like. Amen. I was teaching my son about hygiene today, so I was going to say that. He's always got the dirty fingernails and we had to clip them before we came.

[0:52] We're going to go to 1 John chapter 2. I think it is a timely word for, I mean, we're on the topic of the Holy Ghost, right? That's what the whole service has been about, I guess.

[1:05] That's the only topic that I'm worried about, though, right? Everything else will flow from that. Thank you, Lord. If you want to put a title on it, you can.

[1:22] You don't have to. It's Arise and Abide. Does everybody know what the word abide means?

[1:36] We've heard it before. It's in the Bible multiple times. I feel like I'm on the group chat.

[1:47] I see a lot of stuff on there. I feel like not just in this community, but pretty much every community that I'm involved in. And I don't mean this selfishly, but there is a lot of negativity.

[2:02] There is a lot of, and I don't mean this in a condescending way. Negativity as in sickness, disease, infirmity, mental illness, physical illness, spiritual illness.

[2:22] Would y'all agree with that? Yeah. Amen. Amen. So it's time to arise and Abide. Under the shadow of the Almighty.

[2:34] Amen. 1 John 2, verse 20. I'm going to do a lot of skipping around. We're going to be in 1 John. We're going to be in Matthew 24. We're going to be in 1 Samuel.

[2:47] We're going to be in Galatians. We're going to be in Exodus. And we're going to be in Acts. Is anybody in a hurry? Okay. I don't like preaching in a hurry.

[3:00] I don't like rushing God. I don't like rushing the Spirit. I feel like sometimes I have to do that. And he's sovereign and he's going to do what he wants to do no matter what. But I don't want to take his time.

[3:10] Right? Amen. I didn't drop two and a half hours to preach for 30 minutes. 1 John 2, verse 20 says this. But ye have an unction.

[3:25] Does everybody know what the word unction means? Amen. But ye have an unction. An anointing. That's what unction means. From the Holy One. And don't let this get to your head, this next part.

[3:41] And ye know all things. I have not written unto you because you know not the truth. This is for believers. And people who have the Holy Ghost.

[3:54] And people who have an anointing. Regardless of if you know it or not. I have not written unto you because you know not the truth. But because ye know it.

[4:05] And that no lies are the truth. Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ. He is Antichrist.

[4:16] And that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father. But he that acknowledges the Son hath the Father also.

[4:27] Let that therefore abide in you. Everybody say abide. Let that therefore abide in you. Which ye have heard from the beginning.

[4:41] I'm thankful that from the beginning. Not just the beginning of the word. But the beginning of my life. I'm going to speak on my own terms here.

[4:53] That from the beginning I have heard the truth. Amen. That I was raised in a place and in a church that didn't fetter away from the truth. That didn't water it down.

[5:04] That didn't leave out the blood. That didn't leave out the name of Jesus. Right? What's your name? Don't you ladies remind me a lot of my grandmother.

[5:23] And that's an unreservedness of speech. And I appreciate that. Thank you, Lord. Thank you. It might be by experience. It might be by age. I don't know what it is.

[5:33] But I know one thing that's in there that's a variable. And that's the Holy Ghost. Right? And whenever you have the Holy Ghost and you have boldness. You're unstoppable. It's not because of you.

[5:44] But it's because of the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. But once again, I'm thankful that from the beginning of me, and I'm sure everybody else in here can say the same thing. Right? Wherever your beginning was, it doesn't have to be from age one.

[5:57] Right? But your beginning of coming to the knowledge of Jesus Christ, that you have received the truth. Amen. And let that therefore abide in you which ye have heard from the beginning.

[6:11] If that which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye shall also continue in the Son and in the Father. What a promise. Amen. And this is the promise that he has promised us, even eternal life.

[6:26] That's a great promise, isn't it? Eternal life. Yes. It's the greatest promise. Amen.

[6:38] Hallelujah. I could just drop the mic right here and we could all go home. I'm not going to do that though. These things. You hungry? I'm hungry too. I'm hungry for the word. We shall not live by bread alone, bro.

[6:49] So these things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. But the anointing, but the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you.

[7:02] And ye need not that any man teach you, but as the same anointing teaches you of all things that is truth. And is no lie.

[7:13] And even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him. And now little children, abide in him. That when he shall appear, we may have, everybody say confidence.

[7:28] Confidence. And not be ashamed before him and his company. I'm going to pray one more time. Lord God, we thank you for this word. Lord, I pray right now for minds to be open.

[7:40] Hearts to be open. Lord God, for eyes to be open. Ears to be ready to hear. Lord God, not because Josh is up here preaching. But Lord, because your word is going forth. Lord God, and you said that your word does not return void.

[7:52] Lord, and I thank you for that promise here tonight. Lord God, I thank you for your anointing. Lord Jesus, I pray that you just begin to use me as a vessel. Lord God, and not let me store up your anointing. But Lord God, allow it to overflow into this place.

[8:04] Lord God, allow it to begin to flow into the lives of the people here. Lord God, that way they might be able to carry it with them. Lord Jesus, and just begin to draw them. Lord God, if they may be in a wilderness, I pray that you just begin to draw them out of it right now in the name of Jesus.

[8:18] Lord, we thank you for your grace and your mercy and your love. Amen. Amen. All right. Verse number 20. But you have an unction from the Holy One and you know all things.

[8:29] Everybody say, I'm anointed. Say it like you mean it. I'm anointed. I'm anointed. So we can say many things, right? I'm this, I'm that. Yeah. I'm well dressed tonight.

[8:40] Sometimes I'm preaching a suit and tie because my wife likes it and she said I look good doing it. So that's why I did it, right? Sometimes I like to preach in a hoodie and jeans and tennis shoes because it's more comfortable for me.

[8:52] Right? There's many things that I can call myself. I'm a son and I'm a father and I'm a brother and I'm this and I'm that. But one thing that I'm glad to call myself is I'm anointed.

[9:05] And I don't mean that boastfully, but it's confidence. Right? We just read that whenever the coming of the Son of Man comes that you need to be confident. Right? There's a difference between being confident and being cocky.

[9:18] Right? Yes. Yes. Yeah. Yes. Do you know that you know that you know the word?

[9:29] Amen? Amen. Then you're confident. Thank you, Jesus. Verse 24. Let that therefore abide in you which you have heard from the beginning. Let it remain in you.

[9:41] Let it remain in you. It's easy to wake up day to day. I don't like that. Wake up day to day and not have an unction to want to die to yourself.

[9:53] Or crucify your flesh. It's easy to get on the pathway that is of the world and is of carnality. And it's easy to stray and look at the idols.

[10:04] Somebody mentioned that earlier. The idols of the world. And to begin to not necessarily bow down and worship them. But you know give them attention that doesn't need to have attention.

[10:15] Right? It's important to feed what is anointing you. Right? And that's the Holy Ghost. There's two dogs that live inside of you.

[10:28] Right? That's what Brother Hinton used to say. There's a flesh dog and then there's a Holy Spirit dog. And you're going to feed one of the two. There's no one in between. You have to feed one of the two. Right? That's good. You have to make that decision.

[10:39] I don't want to step on toes or anything like that. But people want to say we don't have free will. We absolutely do have free will. You're going to wake up and choose you this day. That's what the word of God says.

[10:51] Right? That's what the word says. And that's what I'm believing. Amen. Thank you Jesus. Verse 27. But the anointing which you have received of him about it in you.

[11:02] Ye not. Need not that any man teach you. Wow. That's good. This verse can be misconstrued, misinterpreted very easily.

[11:16] Well what are you saying brother that we don't need you to sit up there and preach to us? That's not what I'm saying at all. You need a pastor. You need somebody that's going to come and preach to you. You need somebody that knows the truth and is going to speak it to you.

[11:27] What you don't need is somebody that's giving you false information and false advertisement. Right? There's one way to heaven. There's one name. Thereby which we'd be saved.

[11:39] Right? And that's the name of Jesus. It's not any other name. It's not any other way. Right? It's by the name of Jesus. But whenever somebody else comes preaching a false gospel and a false doctrine. That's when you need to be weary.

[11:50] Right? Verse 28. And now little children abide in him. That when he shall appear. We may have confidence. Once again.

[12:05] The title of this message is Arise and Abide. It's very important to abide in him and not be ashamed. It's important to not be ashamed of the gospel. But to be confident in it.

[12:16] Right? To be bold. To have a boldness. To know that you have an unction. To know that you know that you know. It plagues me to think that you know. Sometimes we wake up and we take it for granted.

[12:26] And this is what I mean. We just had Easter. Right? Everybody had a great Easter. Yes. Jesus. We went to the movies last night.

[12:39] And we took our two little boys. and we've seen the movie King of Kings. Right. It's a cartoon about the story of Jesus. Never did I ever think that I was going to cry during a cartoon.

[12:56] I did, right? I didn't cry as much as I did tonight, but I'm a crybaby, just like Brother Van was. If the Spirit don't even got a move for me to cry, I might be sitting in a movie with you.

[13:09] I guess it is the Spirit. I'll hate you to that. But what I'm getting at is, you know, it was showing the cross and this and that, and it had me thinking of the movie The Passion and then, you know, exactly what the Bible says.

[13:24] And whenever Jesus was on the cross, you know, we all know what he went through. We all know the story. I'm not going to go into all the details, but it said that you couldn't even tell him male from female.

[13:36] That's what the Bible says. Wow. That's what I'm talking about, taking it for granted.

[13:50] That's what he went through. Not just for us to have eternal life, right? Thank you, Jesus, for eternal life. But for us to be able to live and walk in joy and gladness, right?

[14:04] To begin to bear the fruit of the Spirit and to walk in the gifts of the Spirit, right? Do you believe the whole Bible? Do you believe the book of Acts?

[14:15] Right? I'm not saying this is an apostolic church or a Pentecostal church or whatever, but I'm preaching the Bible. I'm not preaching a religion or a denomination, but I'm telling you what the Bible says.

[14:27] Amen? And it's the truth, and the truth, it says that he does not lie, right? He is not a liar. But once again, it got me thinking about that image of, and it's hard to just, to be able to picture in your mind Jesus hanging on the cross and you can't tell him male from female.

[14:49] That's how bad he was beaten. That's how bad he was torn, I mean, literally torn apart, right? Do not wake up in the morning and take that for granted, right?

[15:00] You try going a week with waking up and that's the first thing that's on your mind, that image. It's powerful.

[15:13] Amen, that's powerful. All right, let's go to Matthew 24 real quick. I'm going to prophesy to you for a minute, biblically.

[15:30] How many has ever been prophesied to and it didn't come to pass and probably wasn't biblical? Hmm. Yeah. You're right. That's right. Thank you. Matthew 24, verse, let's go to verse four.

[15:46] And Jesus answered and said unto them, take heed that no man deceive you. For many shall come in my name, saying I am Christ and shall deceive many.

[16:04] Do not be deceived or afraid. Amen. Do not be deceived nor afraid. Go down to verse nine. Let's just, let's just continue.

[16:15] And you shall hear wars and rumors of wars so that you not be troubled for all these things must come to pass. But the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom.

[16:26] And there shall be famines and pestilences and earthquakes and divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows. Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted and shall kill you and shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.

[16:45] Understand this. It's not about you. Right? It's not about you. It ain't about me. I have a microphone in my hand, but it's definitely not about me. It's about Jesus Christ.

[16:56] Right? Proclaiming the gospel. And here's what, here's the prophecy. Everybody's been waiting on that, right? I'm a preacher because I stand up here behind a pulpit and I have a microphone.

[17:10] And that's what some of us might think preachers are. But every single person in here is a preacher. Amen? You may not think so, but you are. Do you want to know what the definition of preacher is?

[17:23] It's a crier of divine truth. Wow. So if you know this word and you tell people about it, you're a preacher. Amen?

[17:34] Thank you. Preach the word. So here's your prophecy. Go preach to people because you can do that. That's what the Bible says. Here's what I want us to understand real quick in this set of verses.

[17:52] Hang with me. This is like a helicopter taking off. All right? It's kind of, we're going to pretend like my mother tonight. She's the helicopter grandmother that just makes sure we can't get hurt.

[18:04] She makes sure my boys are well taken care of and I thank her for that. Amen? It's awesome to have somebody, a good support system in your life and I'm super thankful for that. I'm thankful for Sister Nana Pat too.

[18:17] She's awesome. She feeds me well whenever I go over to her house for lunch. So I'm thankful for that. So we just talked about some bad news, right?

[18:33] What I want you to understand is the bad news is not the final ingredient, okay? He's not going to come back just because there's floods and there's rumors of wars and there's pestilences and because there's earthquakes and there's volcanoes and everything looks like it's falling apart.

[18:49] It's been doing that for 2,000 to 3,000 years, right? It's a cycle that's repeating itself. You want me to tell you when he's going to come back? Let's go read it. Verse 14. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations.

[19:08] And what's it say? And then, and then, then shall the end come. Amen? Amen. Well, why aren't he coming back?

[19:18] I'm ready for him to come back. I'm ready to go home. I'm ready to meet the Lord. I'm ready to meet the Lord. I'm ready to meet the Lord. Go preach to somebody. Go preach to somebody, right? Everybody needs to hear it. I need to hear it.

[19:29] I forgot who I was talking to. I was talking to somebody two or three days ago and it was like, well, you know, what do you kind of base your message off of or how do you deliver it or this or that?

[19:41] And I said, look, man, you know, I think it was, it was one of my buddies or somebody I work with. I said, look, I'm going to tell you straight up. Pretty much anytime I get a message from the Lord, it's for me. Yeah. Directly.

[19:52] Right. And I just have to be bold enough to stand up and give it to other people and have the faith that the word that he's given me is going to help somebody else. Right. I'm not preaching at you.

[20:03] I'm more of a reacher than a preacher. Right. I'm ready. I'm here to reach somebody. Right. Because that they might hopefully they're not on my level. Right. Hopefully y'all are light years above me in the spirit.

[20:16] Right. Hopefully you're not dealing with the things that I'm dealing. But if by happenstance you might be. Thank you, Jesus, for the message that has given me that I can give you.

[20:27] Amen. Yes. Thank you, Jesus. So with that being said, don't think that you're inadequate or not smart enough or don't have the speech or don't have the look or don't have the talk or whatever it may be to go and preach to somebody because you do.

[20:48] Okay. You do. Whenever the spirit and the Holy Ghost get on you, you really can't help it sometimes. Right. I'll give you a perfect example. My mother's sitting back there. Y'all probably heard her testify here before.

[21:00] But she is the quietest person in the room. She is. She really is. But you ask her to testify and you ask her or let the spirit come on her.

[21:12] Amen. You got to know what's up. You know what I'm saying? You got to know where I learned my preaching from. Right. It wasn't from my daddy but it was from my mama. Amen. Amen. Thank you, Jesus.

[21:24] Thank you, Lord. You have a calling, right? A calling to walk in your anointing and a calling to arise and abide. A calling to preach the gospel. A calling to serve.

[21:36] A calling to be a witness. A calling to be willing. Right. We all have that calling. Amen. The Bible says this.

[21:52] That you, it's in 1 Peter 2, verse 9, it says, but you are a chosen generation or royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people that you should show forth the praise of him.

[22:03] Show forth the praise of him. Right. Who has called you out of darkness into marvelous light. Who's thankful that you do not live in darkness anymore. Right. Wherever there's light, there cannot be darkness.

[22:17] It cannot happen. Yes. It literally cannot happen. No. Ouch. You know this trick, right? Is it going to work? No. Somebody hit the light switch.

[22:29] Them two. All of them. Boom. All right. Pretend like the whole place is dark. Amen. Right here. On the right side of the door.

[22:40] There we go. There you go. One more. All right. See that? It's dark, right? Yeah. Not a very good place to live.

[22:54] Can't see nothing. Stumble around. How many of you have ever stumped their toe on the edge of the bed at nighttime? All right. Anguish. We're talking about anguish. I don't have you, you don't have you speaking in tongues or speaking something else, right?

[23:09] But look, watch this. Hit that light switch back here. Boom. It's light.

[23:20] No more darkness. It can't, it cannot exist. It's not possible. I got that little trick from a pastor, by the way. I didn't come with that on my own. Hey. Two more.

[23:33] Three. One. Back. I'm going to go back to verse 28 real quick on John. And then we're going to go to Acts and a couple other places and then we're going to be done.

[23:46] This is one of my favorite parts. I've been, I've been in this. Man. Might even just go there. All right. It's verse 28. Abide in him. Abide in him.

[24:02] Psalms chapter 91. That's where I was going to go. I don't even know why I said go back to John. 91. This is a, I'm sure this is a familiar passage.

[24:17] It is for me. He that dwelleth, dwelleth, dwelleth, to, to rest, to be there, to continually be there, to want to be there, to have the, uh, ability to be there, to have the, the want to, right?

[24:41] He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most high shall abide under the shadow of the almighty. I will say of the Lord, he is my refuge and my fortress, my God and him will I trust.

[24:55] Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler and from the newsome pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers and under his wings shall thou trust.

[25:09] His truth shall be thy shield and buckler. Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night nor the arrow that flieth by day nor the pestilence that walketh in darkness nor the destruction that walketh at noonday.

[25:21] A thousand shall fall at thy side and ten thousand at thy right hand. Amen. Hallelujah. But it shall not come nigh thee. Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.

[25:36] Now watch this. Verse 9 says this, Because because thou hast made so we go from from dwelling and abiding, right?

[25:53] Because thou hast made the Lord which is my refuge even the most high of thy habitation. So we go from wanting to dwell to making him.

[26:04] There's a difference. There's a difference. There's a difference, right? There's a difference between coming to church on Sunday morning and Sunday night and once a month on Saturdays or whatever. That's being here and that's dwelling, right?

[26:16] But whenever you begin to make him a habitation, right? Because I am his house shall be a house of prayer, right? This is the temple of the Holy Ghost and I'm going to make him a habitation and I'm going to feed him, right?

[26:28] I don't need to live off manna. I don't need to live off what he's providing me but I'm going to provide the Holy Spirit, right? My body as a living sacrifice that way I might be able to be used and I might be able to be a preacher and a teacher and a reacher of the word of God.

[26:42] Amen. Right? Thank you, Jesus. Hallelujah. And then it's talking about some more evil, right? And then we're going to go down to verse 14 because because he has set his love upon me.

[26:55] Now this is switching up, okay? If you didn't know this, this psalm was written by Moses, right? It's not a, it's repinned by David but it was originally written by Moses.

[27:06] So we switch from Moses writing, right? The 1 through 13. Now we're at 14 and this is God speaking, right? Because he has set his love upon me.

[27:20] because he has set his love upon me. Here's what I'm getting at, okay? Just follow me for just a second. So we went from coming to church, abiding, right?

[27:33] To making him a habitation, which is great. It's awesome. You can also refer back to Ezekiel 47, right?

[27:43] The rigor of life. You have ankle depth, knee depth, waist depth, and then you're fully submerged into the spirit. Amen? Some of us want to just be on the beach and do the thing. Thank you, Jesus, for salvation on the cross, but I'm okay over here, right?

[27:56] And some of us want to be knee deep and we want to be able to reach people and pray for people and some of us want to be waist deep and say, I am a preacher, right? I am a reacher because I have the Holy Ghost and some of us want to be fully submerged in the spirit that no matter where we go, it exudes off of us, right?

[28:12] That light has to shine because there is no darkness, right? That's the difference here. So now we're at abiding because it looks cool when everybody does it, right?

[28:24] Everybody goes to church, everybody does the thing and then habitation, right? It's something that we desire. We want more, we want more of the Lord. Lord, I want more of you. I'm hungry, I'm thirsty, I cannot be fed by the chicken in the bag, but I want this amen, right?

[28:41] And now we're at verse 14 and it says, because he has said his love, it's a huge, it's a totally different thing. The word love, right?

[28:52] When it, when it, you're the only passion that you have is not, I want to be a good father, I want to be a good husband, I want to be a good mother, I want to be a good brother, I want to be a good coworker, I want to be this, I want to be that, but Lord, I just want to love you because if I love you more importantly than anything, everything else will follow and wherever I put my feet and wherever I lay my hand will turn to gold because you said it, amen.

[29:16] Right? It will prosper no matter where I walk, you've guided my steps, you knew me before you formed me into my brother's world, right? All these promises will come to pass. I've said it before, I don't know if it was here, but there's over 5,000 promises in the book, in this book, right?

[29:31] And I refuse to die until I see every one of them coming to pass. Right? If it's, if it's in there, it belongs to me, right? He is a sovereign God.

[29:43] God. Now don't take offense to this because hear me out, he is a sovereign God, but it's limited to his word. Here's what I mean. If he said it, it has to happen.

[29:55] If you can find it in there, it belongs to you. It belongs to you. We are going to, we're going to follow the Holy Ghost. We're going to go somewhere different.

[30:06] Isaiah, real quick. Isaiah, real quick. I think it's Isaiah chapter 41. How many knows the story of, uh, uh, of Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego?

[32:37] Yeah, that's fine. Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was three cubits, three score cubits, breath there of six cubits, he set up in the plain of Dura in the province of Babylon.

[32:52] Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to the father, or sent to gather together the princes of governors and the captains and the judges, the treasurers, the counselors, the sheriffs, all the rulers of the provinces to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.

[33:07] Then the princes, the governors, the captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counselors, the sheriffs, the rulers of the provinces were gathered together unto the dedication to the image the king had set up. And they had stood before the image that the king had set up.

[33:20] Then the herald cried aloud to you, it is commanded, O people of nations and languages, that at what time you hear the sound of the cornet, the flute, the harp, the second psaltery, dulcet, and all kinds of music that you fall down and worship the golden image that the king had set up.

[33:38] And whoso followeth not down and worship shall the same hour be cast into the burning fiery furnace. Therefore at that time when all the people heard the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sacrifice, psaltery, and all kinds of music and all the people of the nations and the languages fell down and worshiped.

[33:56] Verse 19, Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury that the form of this message was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego. Therefore he spake and commanded that they should heat the furnace seven times more than it was to be heeded.

[34:12] And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army. Time out. What were they? The most mighty men. The most mighty men. Remember that. The most mighty men.

[34:22] The biggest thing that's come against you, right? The most powerful thing that you've ever dealt with. Keep reading. To bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.

[34:33] Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, their hats. Bound, right? Their garments and were cast into the midst of the fiery furnace. Therefore, because the king's commandment was urgent and the furnace exceeding hot, the flame of the fire slew those men that they had thrown in Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

[34:55] And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down, bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. Then Nebuchadnezzar, the king, was astonished and rose up in haste and spake and said unto his counselors, Did we not cast three men in there?

[35:13] He said, Stop at 25 if you haven't already got there. They answered and said to the king, True. He answered and said, I see four men walking in the midst of the fire and they have no hurt in the form of the poor.

[35:25] It's like the son of God. Amen. Isn't that good? Amen. So Lord, here's what I was talking about. Whenever you begin to read this, there's over 5,000 promises in here and I refuse to die because I want to see every single one of them come to pass.

[35:37] Amen. Right? And if you find it in here, it belongs to you. Amen. Okay. So we're, we, we, we went, we're all around here, right?

[35:48] We're, we're doing, we're doing a little bit of Holy Ghost and now we're going to come over here and we're going to look at some promise. Is that okay? Amen. Sometimes I don't stay on track and sometimes I do, but we're, tonight we're following the Holy Spirit.

[36:02] So whenever it's talking about these guys, the Hannah, Michelle, and Ezra, right? Shadrach, Meshach, nobody go. We have three Hebrew boys.

[36:13] Okay. And they go in the fire with hats and clothes and this and that and the people that threw them into the fire, the seven times hotter fire, right?

[36:26] The thing that's bound you, that fire reached out and grabbed them. Just like that. Amen. The fire, right?

[36:37] The thing that you're going to go through is going to grab your enemy. The fire, the Holy Ghost, right? Here's the thing is, they wasn't just walking around in there. They wasn't just having, the, the, the, the definition for that, that walking, right?

[36:51] If you begin to study it, is doing a little Holy Ghost dance, if you will. All right. A little jig, a little two-step, a little song, right?

[37:03] Yeah. Wow. It says, Nebuchadnezzar, the king was astonished and rose up in haste and spake unto them, did we not cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?

[37:23] So somebody showed up, right? Yeah. Amen. The Holy Ghost and fire. Amen. Amen. I love when that happens. Whenever he shows up and shows out, man, it's so good.

[37:37] It's so good. So they, so they're in this fire and they're, they're doing a little jig, they're doing a little dance and they still got the stuff on. And you begin to wonder, right?

[37:49] Has anybody ever experienced a house fire or been in a fire period? Have you, do you know anybody that's been in a fire? And like, let me, let me rephrase this, a fire that's seven times hotter, a furnace, they've been thrown into it and they survived.

[38:09] So this is the only one in history that we're familiar with, right? Yeah. Amen. So the, it begs the question of how did they do it? Well, the Holy Ghost was there.

[38:20] That's a pretty simple answer, right? But let's look at this a little step further. The God that I serve is a God of covenant, right? A God of covenant, a God of promise.

[38:31] Yes, he is. And a God that does not lie. Amen. A God that shows up. Yep. On time. On time. Amen. Amen. Well, he was four days late.

[38:42] No, he was on time. Well, he was, he was four days. No, he was on time. Yeah. He knew what he was doing. Sometimes we, we want him to be there.

[38:53] Like, where you at, dude? You know, I've been going through this for 40 years than walking around this mountain, right? Wow. But did they still get to the promised land?

[39:05] Isaiah 43 verse 2 says this. When thou, I'm about to run around this journey. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee. Now listen to this, okay?

[39:16] So you know, so we're not just, we're not just scatterbrained here. We're talking about three Hebrew boys. Okay? And this is a promise that Isaiah prophesied two to 300 years before that ever happened.

[39:29] And this is a prophecy that was given to Abraham and Isaac and Jacob. Right? So about three or four or five generations before the little Hebrew boys.

[39:40] Right? And does God always outdo a curse? Does he? Every time. And the curse goes to the third and the fourth generation. Right? That's what, I'm not making this up.

[39:51] That's what the word says. So if he outdoes it, then that means it's got to go five or six or seven or eight or ten or all the way until he comes back on the white horse. Right? That's how far his promises go.

[40:03] Verse 43, 43, two says this, when thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee. And through the waters, they shall not overflow thee. If you've been in a flood, understand this.

[40:13] Right? It's not going to overflow you. It might look like it, but it's not going to. When thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned, neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. You're not going to be burned and the flame's not going to kindle upon you.

[40:26] What's that kindle part mean? It says that they went in with hat, shirt, pants, shoes. They had their hose on or their, she said she went to Walmart and got something.

[40:39] Right? The pantyhose or something. They went in with all that stuff. Amen? And you know what the Bible says? They came out with it on. Right? They came out with it on and they didn't even smell like smoke.

[40:52] They didn't even smell like what they've been through. The promises of God are for you to go through something and to come out and know that you came in with. For you to go out the trial and the tribulation to not even smell like what you went through.

[41:08] Because you're going to come out dancing and you're going to come out jumping and saying I believe in Jesus Christ. He is the one. He is the only. I know that he's resurrected me. I used to be dead but now I'm alive.

[41:20] Thank you Jesus. Hallelujah. Thank you Jesus. Worthy is his name. When thou passest I'm going to read it one more time.

[41:33] When thou passest through the waters I will be with thee and through the rivers they shall not overflow thee. When thou walkest through the fire thou shalt not be burned neither shall the flame candle upon thee.

[42:13] I'm not going to go read it. I'm going to give you just a quick quick little deal. So we have the Israelites. They are they're going to fight the Philistines.

[42:24] They go in they go into battle. they come back and essentially they lose the battle. Right. They get back and Hophni and Phinehas say whoa why didn't you take the Ark of the Covenant?

[42:43] Right. You left the Ark of the Covenant here. Everybody knows what the Ark of the Covenant is. Right. The Ark of the Covenant is something that held the Holy Ghost the Holy Spirit. It was a symbol right that carried the Holy Spirit.

[42:59] They didn't even take it into battle with them. All right. They thought they could do it on their own. How many people do that? I think I can I got this today. I went to church and we got filled up last night. Thank you Jesus.

[43:10] Hallelujah. But I think I got this one today. Wow. I think I got it. They then wise up and they get the Ark of the Covenant.

[43:25] They take it into battle. And guess what? They still lose. They still lose. They still lose the next battle. The reason why is because they traded the substance for the symbol.

[43:43] Amen. Oh. Come on. Yep. They traded the substance of the Holy Ghost the power of what it actually represented for the symbol of what they were carrying.

[43:55] Yep. Right? Come on. Come on. I don't do that. Well how many of you think the Holy Ghost only resides at Riverside Church? Because newsflash it doesn't.

[44:06] Right? It does reside here but this is not the only place. Right? That's right. The lady that was singing I think she just walked out. It's here and whenever I step outside it's here and it's here because I'm anointed.

[44:22] Right? I'm anointed. Say it to yourself right now. Sometimes you gotta wake up in the morning and look in the mirror and say I'm anointed. I'm anointed. I'm anointed. Satan get behind me.

[44:33] You are a liar. You have no power in my life. Infirmity get behind me. Lies get behind me. Financial problems get behind me. Arguments get behind me. Lord you are going before me.

[44:45] Moses said if your spirit does not go before me I do not want to go. Amen. That's my life motto. Lord if your spirit has not went before me don't even take me down that path.

[44:56] Lead me Lord wherever your spirit's gone because I know wherever it's went is a righteous path. Lord God and I'm going to follow with everything that I have in me. Thank you Jesus. Hallelujah. Don't trade the substance for the simple.

[45:10] Walk steadily in the spirit. Walk stead. Galatians 5 says this. It says to stand and be not entangled again with the yoga of bondage.

[45:21] Right? A couple verses down in the passage it says you did run well but what did hinder you? A lot of us like to run.

[45:34] We like and here's what I mean by that. We like to see the tangible things. We like to see so and so fall out. We like to see the speaking in text. I'm not discounting that. I believe in it. Right? But when we see that we think boom something's happening and we're running.

[45:47] Right? We're running the race. We're doing good. We're doing good. We're doing good. But some of us get tired and what did hinder you? Right? Go on down to verse 16 it says walk in the spirit.

[46:04] Walk in the spirit. It's hard to get up and run every day. I want to see this. I want to see somebody healed right now in the name of Jesus. I'm going to do this. I'm going to do that. I'm going to do this. I'm going to do that. Let's slow down and let's walk.

[46:15] Thank you Lord for this day. Whatever you have for me your will be done. Our Father who art in heaven hallowed be thy name and the kingdom come.

[46:28] That's the most dangerous part. Don't say it unless you mean it. Don't say it unless you mean it because a lot of us microwave put it in 30 seconds.

[47:17] Perfect example right here. Every day walking in the spirit. Sister Hinton anybody know Sister Hinton from Littlemore? Okay. I knew her for like the last maybe five to six to seven years of her life and I listened to this lady preach at our church before she finally I guess gave up the pastorship to Brother Steve.

[47:39] at the time I was a Sunday Sunday morning guy right few Sunday nights here and there whatever definitely wouldn't preach it.

[47:53] I listened to the same message for two or three or four years in a row because bless her heart she was developing dementia she was you know she was still able to get around she's 92 years old she's still preaching the gospel she's doing the thing right but she's walking in the spirit longevity right she wasn't worried about running and performing and doing this and doing that we have to want to do it right there is a performance that we are expected from the Lord and what I mean by that is if you're anointed allow it to overflow don't bottle it up right if the Lord gives you the unction the anointing to go and lay hands on somebody better do it you don't want to miss that opportunity you might have you might miss the opportunity to lead somebody to salvation right to eternal life not because it's you but because you're being used as a vessel amen walk in the spirit wherever the spirit of the Lord is there's liberty amen do not be distracted by everyday life but rather by the spirit okay

[48:59] Moses whenever he's tending the flock of Jethro up on the mountain right he there's a there's a burning bush up here and he's down in the valley doing his daily activities right doing whatever it is that he does he's just he's just out there he's oblivious right he's worried about this he's worried about that he's worried don't let that one get too far away are they eating enough are they drinking enough and there's a fire burning up here on the mountain the Holy Ghost fire a word that's ready to be established and sent forth right for generations and you know what he does he doesn't keep doing what he's doing he looks and goes to it it's called obedience right it's called arising out of the ashes that you're in and abiding under the shadow of the most high right that's what that's called do not be distracted by your everyday life enough to where you cannot walk in the spirit don't be too earthly minded to be any heavenly good she said on the way up here she said you're too spiritually minded to be any earthly good

[50:23] I said that's not true that's not true I'd rather be spiritually minded any day of the week amen hallelujah all right last set of verses and we're done amen Acts chapter 4 hopefully this will tie all this together the book of Acts hallelujah we need some more of that amen amen just don't thank you Jesus verse 13 let's go there real quick so this is Peter and John you know they they're doing the thing they're finally walking in the gospel this and that like fully bold doing all the stuff verse 13 says this now when they saw when they right this is the Pharisees the Sadducees the people that were high up and didn't want none of this stuff going on right the people that tell you that you're inadequate right we're trying to relate here the people that tell you that well you go to a church that does stuff that stopped 2000 years ago okay why do you speak in tongues because I'm talking to my

[51:43] Lord I ain't talking to you if you can't understand it ain't for you now when they saw the boldness amen that's what I want people to see in me the boldness of Jesus Christ not that you're conceited right not that you're boastful not that you're walking around with your chest poked out but that I know who my God is I know what I've been called to do amen I have a mission this life is nothing but a vapor I'm just a soldier in this land I have an assignment and I'm here to complete it and get to where I'm going amen here's a question for verse 13 have you been with Jesus now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men some hicks from Kentucky right some crazy people from

[53:15] Kentucky they marveled and they took knowledge of them that they had been with Jesus they knew it exuded from them well there's no darkness in those guys I wonder why because the light showed up amen the light showed up that's what I want people to say about me I know there's a light in that guy I know there is go down to verse 17 but that it spread no further among the people this is what they wanted right the Pharisees and the Sadducees they did not want it to spread they didn't want the miracles to begin they didn't want the power the manifestation of the Holy Spirit to begin to spread they wanted to contain it because they wanted to be in control right that's going to happen every single time you begin to be bold and walk in the fullness and the measure of the body of Christ it's going to happen it's going that you're going to have somebody that condescends you somebody that tells you you don't need to be doing that because you don't know what you're doing right a false teacher like we read earlier amen somebody that's telling you false things a thing that's going to distract you and deter you from the path that God set you on right

[54:23] I want you to understand this I'm going to read verse 17 one time but that it spread no further among the people let us straightly threaten them that they may speak henceforth to no man in this name they're going to threaten you they're going to shame you they're going to call you names they're going to do this they're going to do that right Satan how many knows that he's real right he's very much real just like there's the Holy Spirit there is the spirit of Jezebel there's the spirit of infirmity there's the spirit of sickness there's the spirit of deceit there's all kinds of spirits right he's the prince of the power of the air that's what the Bible says do not be afraid of him but he is also not afraid and here's what I'm talking about whenever we do this that we call church or revival or whatever you want to label what as he's okay with this really satan is happy about it and here's what I'm talking about because he knows that 99% of the time it's going to stay right here we're going to do the thing we're going to get the goose bones we're going to get a little sweat going we're going to do the hallelujah we're going to do the thank you

[55:40] Jesus because that's what you know it's awesome and this and that there's going to be a few of however that walk in the spirit okay but there's going to be some of us that come out of here that it's going to go just like that right and you're going to go and you're going to be plagued all week until you go back to church on Sunday right he's not afraid of it he's not afraid of it satan is not afraid of this he's not afraid of that but what we ought to do is put hell on notice right the gates of hell shall not prevail right they shall not prevail don't just say oh well that's what the word says but let's go put our hand on the gate and say it's not going to prevail today because I have the power of the Holy Ghost inside of me right and I have power and authority and dominion over everything on this earth you know why because Jesus Christ said it he's living inside of me it's not because Josh

[56:42] Kirk is so awesome and I'm 6'5 and 200 pounds and I have dominion it's because I have Jesus Christ inside of me and I know I know Satan is behind me right now thank you Lord thank you Lord verse 20 verse 20 and they called to them and commanded them not to speak nor teach in the name of Jesus I'm going to do it anyways but Peter and John answered and said to them whether it be right in the sight of God hearken unto more than unto God judge ye for we cannot but speak that's called a Jeremiah fire is what that's called whenever he didn't want Jeremiah was called at a very young age it's like believed to be 8 or 9 or 10 years old into the ministry full time ministry right and he did not want to do it right how do you feel whenever you're called and you're 30 40 50 60 years old you've been doing it for a while and you've been listening to so and so sitting on the pew and this and that and you're then you're called to go do it at least you're equipped

[57:57] Jeremiah wasn't equipped right he was just called to go and do it no lord not me no lord not me no lord not me the guy preached for 50 some odd years and had zero converts in the gospel how would you feel right but he had a Jeremiah fire in him the fire of the holy ghost that said lord I don't want to do it but your fire is so strong in me that I have to do it because your power is more than me more than my flesh the flesh is what does it say the flesh is strong but the spirit is willing the flesh is weak but the spirit is willing right when you're anointed everybody say I'm anointed if you're going to say it don't be lying in church okay if you're anointed say it if you believe it I'm anointed so whenever you leave here don't stop praising his name all right

[59:06] I'm going to read the rest of these verses and we're done all the way down to like verse 32 ish I'm going to go to 29 and then we're going to read that verse 29 this is Acts chapter 4 and now Lord behold their threatenings and grant unto thy servants that with all boldness they may speak that word it's important to have boldness amen if you don't pray for anything else pray for boldness I don't really typically pray for myself whenever I'm praying but I'll pray for the things that I know that I need to do the work of the ministry right by stretching forth on hand to heal and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of the holy child Jesus and when they had prayed the place was shaken that's powerful and when they had prayed the place was shaken where they were assembled together and they were all filled everybody say with the holy ghost and they spake the word of

[60:28] God with boldness amen verse 40 42 and we're or is that not it is it yeah go to go to chapter 5 verse 40 42 that's the last two I got and to him they agreed and when they called the apostles and beaten them they commanded that they would not speak in the name of Jesus and let them go and everybody say daily in the temple in every house they cease not to teach and preach Jesus Christ it's important to arise and I don't care what situation or circumstance you're in I don't care what your life looks like everybody in here has a different idea of what this might be this church thing this life thing or whatever I'm just being real okay I'm not not preacher Josh anymore but I'm on a personal level everybody has a different thing that they deal with right up here in here in here out here right here right we all have our own thing that nobody else knows about right that we deal with whether it's thoughts or whether it's temptations or whether it's physical infirmity spiritual infirmity emotional whatever the case may be right but you're here on a

[61:57] Saturday night in a not so great part of the world I'm just going to leave it at that right so I think we're on a dead end street right it's a beautiful church but the yes I'm saying just I'm just being real right the place around us kind of you know it is what it is what I'm getting at is this you're here for a reason okay I think everybody knows that everybody agrees with that right you're here for a reason so it's important to understand this that whenever you leave here please if you don't get anything else out of that however long I've been preaching I'm not doing it for goosebumps I'm not doing it for claps and amens and hallelujahs I don't give a rat about that I don't I don't care about that I could preach to y'all in silence I could preach to two people I could preach to a thousand people it does not matter but what I want to reach you with is leave here and have the boldness to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ I was on a podcast yesterday the day before yesterday

[63:00] I can't remember and the guy asked me a question he said if you met somebody that you didn't know if they knew Jesus or not right you didn't know just a normal you're at the gas station you bump into somebody and you just randomly start having a conversation when I'm in public I'm weird like I might I might just go up and start talking to people you know it's just what I do sometimes I do and sometimes I don't but I like there's like 8 billion people on the earth I want to know some of them you know what I mean but the question that he asked me was what would you tell somebody or what would you say to them about this is why you need to follow Jesus like seriously think about that what would your answer be well he died on the cross brother he saved you from your sins those are typical religious answers that don't they have weight to them but to somebody that doesn't know they don't give up they don't care they don't care about that right

[64:06] I don't have the answer so don't look at me like I'm about to tell you some big proclamation I don't have the answer here's what I told you and I have the sticker on the back of my truck because it's my slogan that I've adopted Jesus is enough really he is he's enough every single time doesn't matter what you're going through doesn't matter where you're at doesn't matter if you're in the valley or on the mountaintop Jesus is enough every single time he wins every single battle he does not lose he does not fail he does not lie he's the king of kings he's the lord of lords he's alpha and omega is the beginning and the end he shall never leave you nor forsake you but be with you until the very end right what more could you want from the guy right well wait he saved you your blood bought you're born again you're fire baptized and you're running for your life with Jesus by yourself right Jesus is enough there's a like you can't just put it into one little phrase about well what would you tell somebody right here's what

[65:13] I want you to be like so there's this thing with the world okay like everybody says like the grass is greener on the other side and it might like we have this nice little church here it's spirit filled I pretty much have the same church at home right it's a little bit there's a little bit more people that go but it's the same like we believe in Jesus Christ he's the one he's the only we believe in the Holy Ghost we believe in all the stuff we believe in the book okay sum it up we believe in the book but some people will say like religiously the grass is greener on the other side right like in the world or in another religion or another denomination or whatever right has anybody ever heard that like well why don't you come over here because we you know we got it going on and this and that but they don't they might leave some of the stuff out right this kind of come out by prayer and fasting how many people have read a bible that doesn't have that in there because there are bibles that have that deleted out right let me tell you something the grass is greener on the other side because it's artificial grass it is it's artificial grass it's always going to be greener but you know what's awesome about our grass is we might have the attitude we might have faults we might have failures but we can plant a seed and we can watch it grow amen we can watch it grow every single time right every single time we can watch it grow encourage you to be like this has anybody ever been to the mall right everybody's been to the mall and my wife can attest to this because

[66:56] I'm extremely bad about it okay so if you walk down the mall and you got the Gucci store and the Louis Vuitton store and the Rolex store and the Patek Philippe store that's a high end watch brand if you didn't know I don't own one because I can't afford it okay but you have all these awesome stores right these high end it's the real deal and then there's not really anybody in there and if you see the people in there selling stuff guess where they're at they're in the back they're not out there trying to get you they're just waiting for you to come in right but the middle of the mall people or whatever that's what I call them the people that are in the middle of the mall little kiosk that got the fake Gucci bags and the fake Louis Vuitton bags guess what they're doing they're up in your face right they're up in your face so let's slip the script and I have the real stuff what I want to do is I want to go sell it to somebody right because I want you to buy it because it's important for you to buy it not because it's flashy and not because it means more but because it's the truth it's the truth and guess what the truth shall do set you free and when you're free amen thank you

[69:27] Seth will you come up here and play the piano for just a minute like 10 15 minutes no like for a couple minutes go ahead I don't have an infirmity I may have it but my brother he called me a couple weeks ago he was having a problem with sin he went to the eye doctor he told me he had cataracts he gets up the next morning he's seeing double so he called his doctor they sent him for an MRI they sent him to UK and Lexington I took him up there last Monday and he told him he's legally blind it was a shock he has bleeding behind both eyes this retina he stuck his eye and this eye started to turn in but I know God and I know what he can do and I told him we're going to call him and we're going to pray for him Amen let's do it and I know God can move I've got to take him back up there tomorrow but I'm trusting that God's going to move in this situation

[70:30] Amen He doesn't want to quit his job they already told him she said I have to notify the DMV that you can't drive she said I don't have to notify your work that's between you and your boss so the only thing he told his boss that he can't drive until he has cataracts taken off he's hoping that that will help him the doctor there they ran us through six hours of tests up there so she said he's in bad shape but I know Amen that's right Amen so I'm going to call him we're going to call him if everybody would come up here every single person come up here we're going to gather around the phone we're going to call him we're going to pray for him and if anybody else needs prayer after that we'll pray for you while we're up here in Jesus name Amen I'm going to make sure you hang on I'm taking my glasses off and I want you somebody to lay hands on my eyes and I want him to lay his hands on his eyes and we're going to believe that God is going to be right now voy voy voy!
