[5:14] A voice cries, A voice says, cry, and I said, what shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all its beauty is like the flower of the field.

[23:16] In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph of the house of David.
[23:32] And the virgin's name was Mary. And he came to her and said, Hail, O favored one, the Lord is with you. The Gospel of Christ.

[27:48] Make straight the way of the Lord, as the prophet Isaiah said. Now they had been sent from the Pharisees.
[27:58] They asked him, Then why are you baptizing, if you are neither the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the prophet? John answered them, I baptize with water, but among you stands one whom you do not know, even he who comes after me, the thong of whose sandal I am not worthy to untie.
[28:23] This took place in Bethany, beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing. The next day he saw Jesus coming toward him and said, Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.
[28:39] The Gospel of Christ. Thanks be to God. He's still there. I- Preening I'm A- Play God of God. Hop on fart ready.

[31:58] O Lord, our strength and our Redeemer. Amen. Amen.
[32:17] There was a box which was about four feet long and two and a half feet wide and stood two and a half feet high. It was made of acacia wood and it was covered with beaten gold.
[32:32] And on either side of it, there were big rings through which long poles could be inserted in order that the box might be carried.
[32:43] And it was in the course of David establishing Jerusalem, Mount Zion as his city and the center of his kingdom, where he had built himself a house, that he pitched a tent.
[33:03] Because God had always dwelt in a tent among his people. The presence of God was associated with this box, which was four feet long, two and a half feet wide and two and a half feet high, and was covered with beaten gold.
[33:26] And it had stayed for a long time in the farm of a man named Obed-Edom. When David has built his house and pitched the tent, he went down to Obed-Edom with the Levitical priests, took their poles and lifted this holy box, and with great rejoicing, brought it up to Jerusalem and placed it in the tent.
[34:04] Verse 16 of 1 Chronicles says, They brought in the ark of God and set it inside the tent which David had pitched for him.
[34:15] And they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before God. When David had finished offering the burnt offerings and the peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the Lord, and distributed to all Israel, both men and women, to each a loaf of bread, a portion of meat, and a cake of raisins.
[34:51] Moreover, he appointed certain of the Levites as ministers before the ark of the Lord, to invoke, to thank, to praise the Lord, the God of Israel.
[35:06] Asaph was the chief, and second to him was Zechariah. They were to play harps, lyres. Asaph was to sound the cymbals.
[35:25] Asaph and Jehaziel, the priest, were to blow trumpets continually before the covenant, the ark of the covenant of God.
[35:37] Then on that day, first appointed, thanksgiving be sung to the Lord by Asaph and his brothers.
[35:49] So there was a great festival of food and song and thanksgiving for the coming of the ark of the covenant into the city of David.
[36:03] The city where David had built himself a house. One day this past April, we were on a hill called Megiddo, looking over the plains of Jezreel.
[36:28] There we were shown a horse trunk, which was about that long, and that wide, and stood about that high.
[36:43] And it was believed, and so we were told, such was the manger, which like the law that had come, had been preserved in the ark of the covenant.
[37:04] So this manger came, the God of Israel. He said, God, come upon his people. Come, come, Emmanuel.
[37:23] After years of singing that, God, indeed came upon his people. The person of Jesus Christ.
[37:35] Again, there is another sense in which God is coming.
[37:50] We are, as we are, as we are said, an Advent people. And all that is, and all that has been, is not to be compared with what will be when he comes again.
[38:13] We live our life. We live our life. Not spinning up the tale of years that belongs to us.
[38:28] Joyfully anticipating his coming again to judge the world. Joyfully anticipating his coming again to be the Lord of the Lord of the Lord. Joyfully anticipating his coming again to be the Lord of the Lord of the Lord of the Lord. So we are an Advent people waiting for our Lord to come. The chief thing in our life is that expectation.
[38:41] And if you turn to the end of the scriptures, you will find, as God has come to us, so we will ultimately come to the Lord of the Lord of the Lord of the Lord. And if you turn to the end of the scriptures, you will find, as God has come to us, so we will ultimately come to him.
[39:10] We will, as we're told, among the living creatures, give glory and honor and thanks to him who is seated on the throne, who lives forever and ever.
[39:33] Four and twenty elders will fall down before him who is seated on the throne and worship him who lives forever and ever.
[39:44] They will cast their crowns before the throne. Sing. Worthy art thou, our Lord and God.
[39:57] Receive glory and honor. Thou didst create all things. By thy will they existed and were created.
[40:10] And so it was in the time of David when he danced before the ark of the Lord as it came into Jerusalem.
[40:21] And as the angels sang in the sky above the hills of Bethlehem, and as we prepare to sing the eternal song of the worship of our eternal God standing before his throne, we celebrate his coming by singing with all our hearts.
[40:48] We are very much blessed tonight. We are very much blessed tonight. By those people who like the sons of Asaph are our choir.
[40:59] Who have given them to themselves, who have taken to themselves the discipline and the demands. And they have given the gifts that they have been given to the work of teaching us all to worship.
[41:20] For the students of Asaph, we might all be gathered together as we are on this Advent Sunday. To sing with all our hearts the praise of our God who has come, who will come, and to whom one day we will come singing.
[41:44] And it's that priceless privilege that belongs at that time. We are called to them.
[41:56] Probably in a strange and wonderful weather. We may have a little stomach aching. We are very close to heaven indeed.
[42:07] We are gathered as we are as the people of God. To sing his praise. To celebrate his presence. And to acknowledge his coming.
[42:20] The celebration for which the loaf of bread, the piece of meat, the cake of raisins was given. Ended with a tremendous hymn, which is recorded in 1 Chronicles, chapter 16.
[42:37] And that hymn ends with these words. Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting.
[42:50] Then, at the end of that hymn it says, All the people said, Amen, and praised the Lord.
[43:05] Amen. So I would ask you. As I end this brief talk. To join with me in those words of worship. Amen, and praised the Lord.
[43:21] And so, as then, so now. May it be said, that all the people said, Amen.
[43:32] And then I'll see you next day.
