[0:00] Remove not the ancient landmark which thy fathers have set. 23.10 Remove not the old landmark and enter not into the fields of the fatherless for their Redeemer is mighty.
[0:21] He shall plead their cause with thee. There are several verses. I read two of them too. I'll tell you about the ancient landmarks.
[0:32] Back in the old days when they settled the country, they set up boundary lines. They usually used a big boulder at the corners.
[0:45] And believe it or not, all down through the history of the Holy Land, the same old borders that they set in the beginning were supposed to be followed.
[0:56] Once in a while, somebody would inherit or buy a piece of property and go out into the field and get some help and move that boulder.
[1:09] Try to make his land bigger and his neighbors smaller. As you can see, that's very dishonest. And so the Bible mentions many times that the Lord is going to watch that.
[1:23] It says it right here in 23.11. Their Redeemer, don't enter into the field of the fatherless. Just because some family lost dad, don't you go out there and steal some of their property because the Lord's watching.
[1:38] He will plead their cause. That's the original idea of removing not the ancient landmark. That also, as are many things in the Bible, it's a symbolical thing.
[1:52] The way that it always has been done should never be changed. Some things should not be changed. And so we use that idea with removing not the ancient landmarks.
[2:08] Do not change things that God did not mean to be changed. Now America has changed a lot of things. You know a lot of changes are good.
[2:21] I actually thank God many times, probably every week, that I was born in this day, in this day and age. We have more things to make life easier and more enjoyable than any generation in history.
[2:42] You get in your car without any thought. You go anywhere you want and in a pretty short time, we can be across this country a long way. Can you imagine doing that in a wagon?
[2:55] We just take things for granted, don't we? You turn your faucet on, the water comes out. Do you ever have a well in a bucket?
[3:09] I remember wells and buckets. Some of you young whippersnappers have no idea what I'm talking about. A lot of changes are good, aren't they?
[3:19] I've got an article here that I enjoyed reading. George Washington was our first president in the United States. Let me read this list of stuff that he never even heard of.
[3:39] George Washington never wrote on a typewriter. Typewriters weren't invented until 40 years after George Washington died. He never wrote a bicycle. Bicycles 21 years after he died.
[3:54] Washington never wrote on a steamboat or a railway train or a streetcar or used an elevator or even an electric trolley or never wrote on a Ferris wheel.
[4:09] It was 100 years before any of those were invented after he died. It was 28 years before they invented matches.
[4:22] He never struck a match and lit a fire with a match. He never saw a stove of any description. They didn't have stoves in his day.
[4:36] Great fireplaces serve for both heating and cooking. He wouldn't know what you meant if you talk about a gas or a kerosene or electric lights. He never wore long trousers or socks or a store-bought suit.
[4:58] There weren't such things. He wouldn't know what a tuxedo or a dress suit like I have on would be. He never wore a wrist watch or used any kind of toothpaste.
[5:13] God have mercy. Washington did not have shaving cream or safety razors. He never ate lunch at a drugstore counter.
[5:26] He never heard of a cafeteria or a cafe or a deli or a grocery store.
[5:38] He never drank any pasteurized milk and he never heard of the word protein or carbohydrate or calorie. Thank God for that. Wish I'd never heard of calories.
[5:49] Never heard of vitamins. Never heard of the GOP. or Uncle Sam or communism.
[6:05] He never saw a modern game of baseball or basketball or football. How can you live without football? He never played a game of golf like most presidents do.
[6:21] Never talked on the telephone. Did you know the telephone didn't come around until 77 years after Washington? Never received or sent a telegram 45 years after Washington.
[6:35] Never was guilty of singing in the bathtub because it didn't have a bathtub. Never took a shower. Never saw a movie.
[6:48] more than 100 years after Washington. Never saw an automobile or an airplane or listened to radio.
[7:01] Never sang the Star Spangled Banner or America or Home Sweet Home or Silent Night or Onward Christian Soldiers or many of the other songs that we like so well.
[7:14] Although he was president of the United States for eight years, he never lived in the White House. Never even lived in Washington, D.C. He lived in New York City when he was president.
[7:29] And then a year after he died went to Philadelphia. George Washington was born February 22nd, 1732 and died December 14, 1799.
[7:45] It was in July of 1800 that the new National Capital Building in Washington, D.C. was built. He probably got as much real pleasure out of life as we do.
[8:00] Perhaps more than many of us get. For after all, the Bible says man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesses.
[8:11] And the irony the irony of it all is those who had simpler lives were happier. And the more complex life gets the more miserable we are.
[8:26] And the more stuff we have the harder it is to hang on to it. And the more ulcers we get trying to hang on to it. And so is something to be said for the ancient landmarks and the ancient things, is there not?
[8:45] Now I'm glad we have better cars and I'm glad we have air conditioning. I'm glad we have better highways, better medical care, and I guess cell phones are okay.
[9:01] Although it was pretty nice when you could get away from people. computers are amazing. Even microwaves.
[9:13] Some of you ladies don't know how to cook except microwave. There goes an unhappy husband right there. Automatic washers and dryers.
[9:25] I was a little boy when they came out with these ringer washers. washers. My mother said I'd go out and watch. I mean I watched them on wash day.
[9:36] I thought that's amazing. She said now son don't get close to this thing. It'll pinch your finger if you do. And I didn't believe her. Those rollers you know coming together and I'd touch them.
[9:50] Yeah one time it grabbed me. Before I knew it my arm was in that thing. Oh I was screaming bloody murder.
[10:02] All of us in those days had to try it though. And that seems like ancient history now. A ringer washing machine doesn't it. You know I remember my mother they had about three different tubs to rinse in and at least two of them had bluing in them.
[10:20] Remember that? And somehow bluing made everything whiter. And they couldn't explain that to me. Mama what's that for us to make that white?
[10:32] Why are they whiting instead of bluing? Son I don't know but it makes it whiter. Okay. So it's okay to have some things that modern isn't it?
[10:48] I wish I look these ties take me forever to tie. And old baldy down here has come up come up here and show them come on come on up here yeah.
[11:03] This guy gets his ties online and I don't see them in the stores but they are beautiful ties and the knot is better than I can tie but look at that.
[11:16] that is cheating man. If this guy if this guy had to tie his own tie knot he'd be in trouble.
[11:33] The only pleasure I get out of this is I know how to tie a tie knot and you characters that cheat don't know how to tie a tie knot. So some things are okay if they're more modern but there's one thing that you're not supposed to mess with and that's religion.
[11:56] We've gotten ourselves in a mess in this world messing with religion. I mean a real religion, a real mess. we don't have any business tampering with that. God's way and God's word are ancient landmarks and should not be changed.
[12:15] Malachi 3.6 says I'm the Lord I change not. We ought not change either a lot of things. And if one man or one group of men in gowns can change the Bible or religion any of us can.
[12:35] And God never gave anybody the right to change anything. And we're in trouble when we change what God said should not be changed. Well God's not going to write any more Bibles.
[12:51] If you want the truth you're going to have to go to that Bible. And that's the first ancient landmark that I want to mention. Get you a King James Bible. There are so many new so-called Bibles and you ought to leave those alone.
[13:09] This thing came out in 1611. I remember a few years ago in 2011 the 400th birthday of the King James Bible.
[13:21] It was 274 years before anybody changed that. But then in 1885 they came out with a revised Bible. In 1901 the American revised version and that held on for 50 years.
[13:40] In 1952 the revised standard version and that just opened the gate. There have been over 200 English versions since then. Absolutely amazing.
[13:53] Why? Why? Why have we changed the Bible? because the old Bible works and the devil knows that a new Bible doesn't work. I want to show you some things very quickly about the new Bible.
[14:07] NIV, the most popular Bible today. Watch this. There have been 64,000 words from the King James Bible left out of the NIV.
[14:22] 64,000. That's unbelievable. Listen to this. 40 times they omitted hell, the word hell, out of the NIV.
[14:35] Abomination or abominable was omitted 139 times. The word Christ is omitted 52 times.
[14:49] Fornication, not even mentioned. They don't even have it in the NIV, not one time. Many entire verses in the New Testament are missing.
[15:05] Most spoken by Jesus. Most of the verses that are omitted are red letter verses in the King James and portions of many other. Now let me read you some of the last verses in this book.
[15:18] In Revelation 22, listen to this. I testify unto every man that hears the words of the prophecy of this book, if any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues written in this book.
[15:34] But if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life and out of the holy city and from the things that are written in this book.
[15:51] Did you know that people that took out words out of this Bible are going to hell? That's what that says. Is it serious or not?
[16:04] Now you need to take those modern Bibles and you need to get rid of those because there's a curse on them, don't you see? You get you a King James Bible. If you're having trouble with those kids, take their names down, Brother West, and leave them home next time.
[16:23] They're big enough to know how to act. You come to a church when we're trying to preach this Bible and you create a confusion and you keep somebody else from hearing, we don't want you here.
[16:35] You understand that? You take those names down, you bus captains, and if they don't sit up and behave themselves, you leave them home. All right? We just do not have time to mess with a big old teenager that doesn't know how to act when he's in public, especially in church.
[16:52] And I don't hate them, I love them, but there are certain standards that you're supposed to keep, especially in church. All right. So, first ancient landmark is the Bible.
[17:06] Don't change it. The second one is the ancient church. Again, it's been changed over and over and over and over and over. How many churches are there? Who knows? I got a book that thick, but it says handbook of denominations.
[17:19] It goes on and on and on about churches, for goodness sake. Jesus said upon this rock, I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. how do you find the right church?
[17:31] If you're going to go out here and try to find the right church, what would you look for? Well, you get the right Bible, and then you find out whether that church is preaching this Bible. And the right church is the one that haven't changed this Bible.
[17:46] That's easy, isn't it? If there are doctrines in that church that are not biblical, then that's not the right church. I don't care if they call themselves a Christian church. It's not the right church.
[17:57] There is a church that actually believes and teaches that Satan and Jesus were brothers. Is that the right church?
[18:09] I'm afraid it isn't. There are churches that have doctrines over and over and over that are not in this book. That's not the right church. The way you find the right church is find the right Bible and see if that church is only going with that Bible and nothing else.
[18:25] All right? We call ours Bible Baptist Church to remind us, stay with that Bible. Don't you change that Bible, you stay with that Bible. Number three, the ancient family unit has been attacked and changed.
[18:42] Husband and wife, legally married, and they're children. That's what the Bible says a family is. I'm so old now.
[18:53] It's just unbelievable as I see the changes that have come in my lifetime. I never thought I'd see the day when a young woman had no more self-respect than to give herself to a man without a wedding ring.
[19:11] I thought I'd never see that day. That's unbelievable to me. why in God's name would any woman give herself away like a common prostitute?
[19:24] That makes no sense to me. I never thought I'd see it. Well, when I was born, there were only 7% of divorces in this country. I mean, divorce was a terrible thing.
[19:37] It had a stigma on it. Now, half marriages end a divorce. We have, at the last, at the last, that I've read, statistic, 20 million couples living together without marriage.
[19:55] You know what the Bible calls that? It calls it fornication. And it says in Hebrews 13 or 12, 4, one or the other, 13, 4. Marriage is honorable in all.
[20:08] The marriage bed is undefiled. But whoremongers adulterers, God will judge. And people don't care. They don't have any fear of God anymore.
[20:20] They don't care. So what? So if God warns me, he's going to judge me, I don't believe that. I'll do what I want to do. There's something wrong with the psyche and human beings that have no fear of God.
[20:32] But it's ruined this nation. Absolutely ruined this nation. The fact that there's no fear of God. The ancient family unit. I never thought I'd live to see the day when in America, the Supreme Court would decide that Herschel and Mike could be husband and husband.
[20:57] Two men can marry. Have all the benefits of marriage. You know, I'm dumb, but I ain't that dumb. That's not marriage, folks.
[21:09] That's perversion. The Bible calls that perversion. And do you know that in this country, they're trying to shut me down from saying that in this pulpit?
[21:21] Did you know that in Canada, the preachers cannot say what I just said? They'll go to jail if they do. They're trying to shut us down. And now in America, it's been legislated from the bench of the Supreme Court that all over America, we have to recognize homosexual marriage.
[21:44] Well, I'm not going to recognize it in here, I'll tell you that. I'm going with a book. Somebody needs to get a book and read what God said about it. It's a perversion.
[21:56] Perversion. We've moved the ancient landmark. We've taken that boulder and we moved it over and said, I don't care what God wanted as a standard. I'm going to change the standard. We're going to get in trouble.
[22:08] Thank God we got somebody in the White House that might fix some of this stuff. I've got hope now that I haven't had in years. You know what I do?
[22:23] And by the way, I don't think he's the most godly person to ever live. He's the one that God chose, though, to fix some things. You know what I do?
[22:34] I ask God to put a bubble around him and protect the guy. There's enough of these idiots out here that would like to kill him. I ask God to protect him.
[22:46] Keep him going long enough. And you know, if you want somebody that really knows what he's doing, get somebody in his 70s. Just throw that in free.
[23:00] I ask God to take care of him and protect him. And I hope he can fix some of this stuff. He sure seems like he wants to. This may be our last chance.
[23:11] If it does get fixed now, I think we're going to fall into both oceans. I think God's going to give up on us. It's amazing how we have gone so far away from what God meant for the standard to be.
[23:24] Homosexuality and premarital sex and extramarital sex and live-ins and absentee fathers and abortion. abortion. that's all removing the ancient family unit.
[23:37] It's an ancient landmark that we were not supposed to move. And we've been moving it. You need to ask God for mercy. Give us a little bit more time.
[23:48] And by the way, some of these things are changing. Abortion, for instance, is changing. and the what's that name, Planned Parenthood? Those things are closing all over this country, man.
[24:01] Isn't that good? Remember, we preachers have preached for years that 3,600 to 4,000 babies are aborted every year. No, no, every day.
[24:12] Every day. We preach that 3,600 to 4,000 babies a day are aborted. You know what that figure is now? 1,700. Less than half.
[24:24] Less than half. Thank God. If we don't start going that way, the Lord's going to give up on us. He's going to blow us up. He's been merciful.
[24:36] Merciful. I don't understand how anybody can be for killing a baby. Killing a baby. Mother went into a doctor one time and she said, Doc, she had a little two-year-old kid on her lap, pretty little girl.
[24:55] And she said, Doc, I'm pregnant again, but I can't afford another baby and I want to bark. I want to bark this one. And the doctor said, well, I've got an idea. It puts you in danger if we, abortion is going to, there's some danger involved to the mother like any other surgical procedure.
[25:14] So I've got an idea. Let me kill that one sitting in your lap. And then you have the other one. That gives you a little time to get some money together and maybe you can do a better job with that one with a couple of years to spare than you would with this other one.
[25:31] And she screamed and said, Doctor, you're crazy. What are you talking about? Kill this little girl? He said, ma'am, there's a speck of difference. Killing one that's two years old and one that's nine months old is not a, or six months, not a speck of difference.
[25:49] What's wrong with us? What's wrong with us? Don't we have any sense at all? Do you think God's not going to judge? There are seven Midwestern states.
[26:04] Now you start over there in Ohio and go out to Nebraska and count them all up. There's seven right in the middle of the country. Did you know that enough babies have been killed in the womb to populate all seven of those states?
[26:15] Now that is a terrible thing that you have to stand up here and say. We have murdered the most innocent of our citizens to the tune of over 55 million.
[26:31] Now we've got a chance maybe to turn that thing around. Let's pray that our new president selects some Supreme Court judges that's got some sense and that we can turn that thing around and outlaw that.
[26:46] Don't you think that's important? This is our nation. That's an ancient landmark that we moved. We need to get it back. Well the first one's the Bible. The second one's the church.
[26:57] The third one's the family unit. I hope I can make it for the fourth one. The ancient way to heaven has been changed over and over and over. Some places you can go and they'll say you've got to gobble like a turkey in order to be saved.
[27:15] Well I'm not saved then because I never gobbled like a turkey. You can go to other places and say well if you'll take this little wafer and drink this little wine that'll save you. All kinds of ways.
[27:28] Other places say if you'll get baptized. I mean there are hundreds of churches that believe if you get baptized that'll save you. And yet the Bible said Jesus didn't come to baptize.
[27:39] And he said Paul said I didn't come. He didn't call me to baptize and preach the gospel. And yet you got to be a nincompoop to read those two things and believe that baptism saves anybody.
[27:52] If Jesus didn't do it and Paul didn't do it it's not saving anybody. I'm not mad I'm just acting mad. Well I am mad too.
[28:03] I'm mad at the devil. Mad at the devil. He's ruined our country. want to get it back. He's ruined churches. Ruined people. Don't let him change the way to get to heaven.
[28:20] Don't let him change it. I've told you and I'm blue in the face. Most big name respected preachers that preach all over the country.
[28:35] I can name a half a dozen right now. All of them are on record in print as saying I believe that 75 some of them say 75 the lowest that I can think of others will go to 90% of members of Baptist churches are not really saved.
[28:59] from 75 to 90% which one of you is that catch? Which one of you is that catch?
[29:14] do you think we're any different? I think we are. We hammer on it all the time. I think we are. I think we're better than that.
[29:26] I don't want one to slip through the cracks. I don't want one to slip through the cracks. Don't you change the way to go to heaven? You don't sign a card and say a prayer and get to go to heaven.
[29:41] Well I believe in God. John 14 6 says I am the way, the truth and the life. No man cometh unto the Father but by me.
[29:54] And for one thing you only get to heaven through Jesus and you can work your fingers to the bone and you're getting to heaven by you and that's not going to get you there. And anything that you do or that you're responsible for is the wrong way to go to heaven.
[30:10] Wrong way. You got to have somebody teach you what it means to come by way of the cross. By Jesus. I am the door. By me if any man enter in he shall be saved.
[30:21] That's what Jesus said. If you don't walk through Jesus you don't get saved. Jeremy you walked through Jesus didn't you? Isn't that good? Cindy you're coming through Jesus aren't you?
[30:34] Aren't y'all glad to be down on the front rows? So you're so handy. I wish I would be able to go down every row and in every seat and ask the question and be sure that everybody would say yes, yes, I know I'm saved.
[30:50] Maybe I can here. But in most churches most preachers say, most preachers that know that travel from 75 to 90 percent are not saved.
[31:04] There is one God and one mediator between man and God the man Christ Jesus. Just one way to go to heaven.
[31:15] One person that can link you to God and that's Jesus. Not good deeds, not baptism, not church membership, not good morals, not communion, not confirmation, not catechism, nothing else can get you saved.
[31:29] Nothing. You've got to come to him, get on your face in humility and say, I'm a sinner. I can't change it. Sinners don't go to heaven. If you don't change me on the inside, I am doomed.
[31:43] And then trust him to do it. He's the only one who can do it. That's the way to go to heaven. There is not another way. There is not another way. I'm old enough to have seen all four of these ancient landmarks removed in America.
[32:00] America. And I grieve. I remember many years ago, probably ten years ago now, I was listening to Sean Hannity back before he started cussing.
[32:17] Back before America raised the censorship law on radio programs and said, now, you say anything you want to, and Hannity proved that he wasn't much of a Christian.
[32:30] He and Limbaugh both can cuss like the rest of them. I was listening to Hannity one time ten years ago. He had Sam Donaldson on his program, who's an old liberal newsman.
[32:43] They were arguing about religion. And all of a sudden, Donaldson said, Sean, hold it, hold it a minute. Don't you know that America is no longer a Christian nation?
[32:57] And boy, I just stopped and I thought, goodness gracious, there it is. Right there out in the open. People are saying it. Newsmen are saying it.
[33:09] People are saying it on the airwaves. We're no longer a Christian nation. Well, he's right. But I didn't want to say that. I didn't like to hear it said.
[33:20] I've always thought America was always a Christian nation. Do you realize we've gone so far that now it can be honestly said we're not a Christian nation anymore? We are a heathen, pagan nation.
[33:34] That's what we are. We're heathen and pagan. We have moved so many landmarks. We are as pagan and ripe for judgment as Sodom and Gomorrah.
[33:46] I had a guy to preach a sermon for me, a preach a revival for me in St. Louis years ago. And he said this, and it's the first guy I've heard say it, I've heard it a lot since.
[33:56] He said if God does not judge America, he'll have to resurrect Sodom and Gomorrah and apologize to them. Because he said, and he's right, America is more wicked today than Sodom was in her day.
[34:15] Why hasn't he, why hadn't he burned us off the face of the earth like he did Sodom? Because Lot didn't get enough salt in Sodom to preserve it. And we still have enough salt in America to preserve it.
[34:29] There's still enough people that are trying to fear God and serve God to keep God from destroying America. But we're getting fewer and fewer all the time. And I think we'd better get serious about getting this place changed for our grandchildren and our children.
[34:49] But if we don't, we will have moved so many landmarks till God is going to destroy us. Well, that's all I have voice to say.
[35:02] I wish I had voice to say more. Bow your heads, close your eyes, please.
