[0:00] Now, seeking God's help, I want us to take as our text this evening words from Genesis chapter 1 and from verse 5.
[0:16] These words at the end of verse 5 where Moses simply tells us, and there was evening and there was morning the first day.
[0:41] There was evening and there was morning. I don't need to remind you of the fundamental importance of this first chapter of Genesis, this great chapter in the book of Origins.
[1:06] It's a chapter that lays the foundation for everything else that happens in the Bible, nothing that happens in the Bible could happen if God had not in the beginning created the heavens and the earth.
[1:26] It's a fundamentally important chapter because of the many times it is referred to in the Bible. The book of Genesis itself is referred to, I think, something like 200 times quoted or alluded to in the New Testament and the first 11 chapters over 100 times.
[1:48] And Jesus himself in his teachings and in his doctrines alludes to or quotes from Genesis to underpin his teaching. And so it is of first importance that we remind ourselves that in the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
[2:09] It's a familiar chapter. And we come to it and we read through it and we marvel at all that it tells us and all that it teaches us.
[2:20] And it ought to excite our worship. After all, even in heaven, according to the book of Revelation, the anthem is sung.
[2:31] You are worthy, O Lord, to receive honor and glory and power, for you have created all things. And for your pleasure, they are and were created.
[2:47] So here is this great chapter striking for us this fundamentally important note that God created all things.
[2:57] So Genesis 1 teaches us much about God. It's a chapter that is full of theology. God is always the subject.
[3:10] God is the one who acts. God is the one who speaks. God is the one who brings all things into being. Everything else is object. Everything else is acted on.
[3:22] But God is the primary actor. And we learn much about him. We learn about his independence. We learn about his freedom.
[3:34] God didn't have to make a world. He was under no compulsion to create the world. There was no God beyond him, telling him, you must make the world.
[3:45] He made the world by an act of free will. And what he had purposed from all eternity finds its origin at the beginning of time, when God creates something that exists now outside of himself, but entirely dependent upon him.
[4:03] God can exist independently of the world. But the world cannot exist independently of God. Genesis 1 teaches us about God's nature as the sovereign, free, eternal God who did something in the beginning because when the beginning began, he was already in existence.
[4:26] And he is the only, immortal, unchanging, eternal God. And Genesis 1 tells us about God's power and the effectiveness and efficacy of God's word.
[4:42] Everything finds its origin in God's speaking. And he creates it in the same way that he will dissolve it. Paul describes the dissolution of the creation in terms of the twinkling of an eye.
[4:58] And it finds its origin as it will find its dissolution in the twinkling of an eye. By his own creative word and by his own remarkable power.
[5:12] And Genesis 1 teaches us about his wisdom. It's not just that he creates a world, but that he creates a world that is perfectly balanced, environmentally balanced, creating exactly the right conditions for man and woman to live in it.
[5:32] And it teaches us about the wisdom of his knowledge. He made the stars too. Well, Psalm 147 tells us that he names every one of them.
[5:45] Great is our Lord and great in power. His wisdom search can none. We name the constellations and the stars, but God named them, every one of them, before we ever dreamt up names for them.
[5:59] And Genesis 1 and these opening chapters tell us about the God who is plural. It's a very interesting thing that the name of God, the singular God who creates and acts and speaks, the name of God is plural.
[6:14] And when he makes man, he says, let us make man in our image. And the foundation is laid for the great revelation of the doctrine of the being of the God who is one in three and three in one.
[6:27] So yes, from him and through him and to him are all things. And everything that is made, according to Romans 1, displays for us what is unseen, the eternal power and glory and wisdom of God.
[6:48] It is all manifest and it is evident all around us, if only we had eyes to see it. Many don't. They suppress the evidence that is there, says Paul, for the God who is real and the God who is true and the God who creates.
[7:09] And they live as if it all came out of nothing. But how could it come out of nothing? Nothing produces nothing.
[7:20] R.C. Sproul says, if something exists, something always existed. You think about that.
[7:32] If something exists, something always existed. Because if nothing existed, then nothing would exist now.
[7:43] But God always existed. And here's the reason why everything else exists. So we need to take our motto from the great words of Paul in Romans.
[7:56] From him and through him and to him are all things. It's fundamentally important, this chapter, because it tells us about God.
[8:07] If you're a Christian tonight, this chapter also tells you about yourself. Who creates Christians? How do Christians come into being?
[8:19] You know, Paul, when he describes what it means to be a Christian in 2 Corinthians, he actually uses the language of Genesis 1.
[8:30] God, he says, who commanded light to shine out of darkness. He has shined in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
[8:47] And he goes on in chapter 5 to say, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. Not just a new person, but an entirely new creation.
[8:58] How did you come to start loving Jesus? How did you come to start desiring Jesus? I'll tell you how. In the beginning, God. In the beginning, God created something in your life that was once upon a time empty and formless and dark.
[9:18] But the spirit of God hovered over it. And God said, let there be light. And there was light in the darkness of your soul.
[9:28] Out of nothing. He created a place for the last Adam to dwell. That's what he's doing here, isn't it? He's creating a place for Adam to live in.
[9:41] For the apex of his creation. Man after his own image. To live in the world that he makes. And when he made a Christian out of you. He brought light into darkness by the power of his spirit.
[9:55] Through the effective operation of his word. And there is now something where there was nothing before. There are now fruits growing in your heart that weren't growing there before.
[10:08] There is movement in your soul that wasn't there before. There is a watered garden in your heart according to the prophets. That wasn't there before.
[10:19] And it's there simply because of the creative power of God. That's why we have this treasure in earthen vessels. Because the power of this new life that is ours in Christ is of God and not of us.
[10:34] And the creative energy that God uses in forming a universe is what he uses in forming a Christian.
[10:45] So this Genesis chapter 1 passage. You read it. Read it as a mirror of what God does in your own experience. In the beginning God created you as a believer.
[10:56] And then let me just say this. Genesis 1 I think has a lot to teach us about heaven. Now the word heaven is of course used in Genesis 1.
[11:08] God created the heavens and the earth. He created the universe. The physical universe as we know it. But did he have a model? Did he have a pattern?
[11:20] To which he worked? Did he have a template? To which he worked? When he created the heavens and the earth in this ordered way. Progressively. Sequentially.
[11:31] Over these six days. And then he rested. Was there some design in the mind of this architect? When he brought the world into being?
[11:44] Well yes there was. He was thinking as he created this world. Of the next world. When he formed this place for us to live in.
[11:58] He was thinking of the final place. To which he will bring his people. In that place that the Bible describes as a new heaven.
[12:10] And a new earth. Now there is much about the final state of God's people. That we don't know and can never know. But there is enough revealed in it.
[12:22] To remind us that God is preparing in Christ. A place for his people. A perfect environment. Where his redeemed people.
[12:34] Shaped according to the glorious body of Jesus. Will one day dwell in his presence. Forever and ever. For the dwelling place of God.
[12:44] Will be with man. In that paradise. When we shall be conformed. To the image of his son. That's the final thing.
[12:55] That God will do. He will make us like Jesus. And perfect us in holiness. And fit us for the place. That he is now preparing. For us.
[13:06] And the thing he will do last. Is the thing he thought of first. That's the principle by which we all live our lives.
[13:17] What is first in thought. Is last in action. You plan to do something. And it's your first thought. But it's the last thing you do.
[13:28] Everything else is preparation for it. We're made in the image of God. That's how God works. We are to be conformed to the image of his son.
[13:39] And so. Everything in our lives. He is planning to that end. And when he created this world. He modeled it.
[13:50] On the final state of God's people. The final state of God's people. Will be a state of light. So when he created this world.
[14:01] What was the first thing he did? He said let there be light. And there's a principle of separation. Running right through Genesis 1. Isn't there? He separated the day from the night.
[14:13] And he separated the seas from the land. And he separates. He separates the animals from man. And even within humankind. He makes a distinction.
[14:25] Between the sexes. And he's separating. He's differentiating. Because he's modeling the environment. In which man will dwell with God.
[14:36] Here. On the final state of God's people. There is there no more sea. There is there no more darkness. He will separate all of these things.
[14:47] Away and out of our experience. Forever. And forever. And forever. Forever. We ask the question. Don't we? Will the last. State of God's people.
[14:59] In the new heavens. And the new earth. Will that be a. A regeneration. Of this earth. Well I don't know. Sometimes I wonder.
[15:10] If that's the wrong question. I think we need to. Be thinking. Not so much about. The final state. As being. Some kind of. Remaking. Of this first state.
[15:21] I think we need to think. Of this first state. As a model. Of that last state. There. It will all be.
[15:32] Very. Good. God creates this environment. In which. He's going to dwell. With his people. And. It is all very good. Until.
[15:44] Sin. Comes in. Well there are many interesting things. That arise out of Genesis 1. Aren't there? Not least of which. Is this description.
[15:57] Of the days. Of creation. There was evening. And there was morning. The first day.
[16:07] And it's repeated. Throughout the chapter. There was evening. And there was morning. The second day. There was evening. And there was morning. The third day. Right up to the sixth day.
[16:18] There was evening. And there was morning. No. I don't need to tell you. That there have been many controversies. Over the use of the word day. In Genesis 1.
[16:29] And there have been some people. That have wanted to accommodate. All kinds of evolutionary theories. Into Genesis 1. And to say. Well. The word day. Could mean. An unspecified.
[16:42] Length of time. Well it can. Unless. You define it. By an evening. And a morning. It seems to me.
[16:52] That the most natural. Reading of these words. If words mean anything. Is that the day. When it is defined. As being constituted. By an evening. And a morning.
[17:03] Is well. Just a day. God could have. Created it all. In a second. But he didn't. He made a pattern. He imposed a pattern.
[17:13] On time. And not least. The fourth commandment. Reminds us of the glory. Of that pattern. Six days. You shall work. The seventh day.
[17:24] You shall rest. It is patterned. After what. God himself. Did. There was evening. And there was morning. The first day.
[17:36] But doesn't it strike you. As odd. That that's how it's written. Because that's not. Our experience. Is it? Of days. Our day starts.
[17:48] With the morning. And ends. With the evening. God separated. The day. From the night. The light. From the darkness. That's our experience.
[18:00] Of daily living. Day and night. Morning. And evening. Here we are gathered. At the close of the communion. And it's evening. And we end.
[18:11] With the evening. And we start. With the morning. Time. But here are the days of creation. And the order is reversed. There was evening.
[18:23] And there was morning. The first day. Day. Now maybe. That's. A quirk. Of. The Hebrew language.
[18:34] In which. This was written. Actually. When you think about it. It encapsulates. The unit. Of a day. Beautifully.
[18:44] The evening. The evening. Marks. The end. Of. The light. The period. Of day. And the morning. Marks. The end.
[18:55] Of the night. So. There's the complete unit. The evening. And the morning. But it adds. A very new perspective.
[19:06] On. What a day. Is. When you describe. Your day. You talk about. What you did. In the morning. And how you finish. The day. In the evening.
[19:18] But. In this particular. Passage. Our perspective. Changes. So that. Actually. We are forced. To think. Of ending. With.
[19:29] The morning. And I actually. Think that. That's not just. Some kind of. Artistic. Flourish. I think.
[19:40] It's one of the most. Remarkable. Principles. Of the Christian. Life. That if you are a Christian. You always. Finish.
[19:51] With. The morning. Your experience. Is quite different. You experience. Days and nights. Light and darkness. Morning and evening.
[20:02] In the regularity. And rhythm. Of the seasons. But the gospel. Comes to you. And gives you. A new perspective. On your days. A new perspective.
[20:15] On time. A new perspective. On everything. The gospel. Helps you. To see things. Differently. And the gospel.
[20:25] Says to you. Tonight. That if you are a Christian. Then you finish. Not with. The evening. But with. The morning. And even. That is modeled.
[20:37] On the glory. Of the final state. John says. Of the heaven. That he witnessed. Through the portals. Of revelation. There was.
[20:47] No. Night. There. Dead. And here is God. Now. Creating this. Miniature. Dwelling place. For us. To live in. Until it is dissolved.
[20:58] And he gives us. Something better. That in Christ. He is now preparing. For us. And he says. Listen. I want you to think. Of your days. As finishing. With morning.
[21:09] That is how it will be. At last. For God's people. Actually. That is how it is. Always. For God's people. From the moment. Light.
[21:19] Light comes into your soul. And he makes a Christian. Out of you. You always finish. With a morning. You experience.
[21:30] The evening. Of sin. And he comes to you then. With the morning. Of forgiveness. It is the principle.
[21:40] That runs right. Through the gospel. We have sinned. Against him. And we sin against him. Every day. And there is no light. In sin.
[21:51] There is only darkness. In sin. And sin eclipses the light. And sin puts out the light. But here is light. That has come into our hearts.
[22:03] And the darkness. Has not overcome it. And as a Christian tonight. You take that principle. And you apply it to yourself. The many times.
[22:13] You sin against God. The many times. You sin against light. And against your conscience. And you do things. That you know. Are not right. Where do you go with them?
[22:25] Do you go with them? Into a night. Of despair. Judas went out. And John tells us. And it was night. And you can hear.
[22:37] Resonating. In these words. The darkness. The darkness. Of the night. Echoing the darkness. In the heart of Judas. Well. You sin too.
[22:50] But you don't go out into the night. Do you? No. No. John 3. Says something entirely different. You come to the light. And in the light.
[23:03] Your deeds are reproved. And you do business. With God. In the light. Of his word. And in his light. You see. Light. Clearly.
[23:14] And he comes to you. With the glory. Of his. Saving grace. And with the glory. Of his. Plenteous redemption. And he says to you. My child. I know that you've sinned.
[23:25] And given place. To the darkness. Don't do that. Put off. The deeds. Of the darkness. Put them off. Because. In you. There is light. I want you.
[23:36] To enjoy the mourning. Of absolution. And forgiveness. I want you to know. That I see no. Iniquity. In my Jacob. That what I did for you. In Christ.
[23:47] Is as effective. For you. Tonight. As if. Calvary. Were happening. Right now. And the great. Atoning.
[23:57] Blood. Reaches you. Where you are. In all your sins. And your conscience. Continues to accuse you. Because you keep coming short. Of his glory. And there is evening.
[24:11] And you weep tears. Of repentance. Amid the evening shadows. Of your convictions. But the gospel comes.
[24:22] And brings light. And brings light. And says. All. Is. Forgiven. There is evening.
[24:35] But then. There is morning. And then let me say this. You may have your evenings. Things. Of.
[24:46] Of. Doubt. But God will give you. The morning. Of assurance. There may be times.
[24:56] In your Christian life. Not least in the wake. Of a communion weekend. Where. You may find yourself. Battling all kinds. Of spiritual demons. And all the peace.
[25:09] And all the joy. And all the assurance. That you've ever had. Seems to be robbed. Away from you. In a moment. The thief comes. To steal. And to kill.
[25:21] And to destroy. And the serpent. Still seems to find his way. Into paradise. And you end up singing. Where is. The blessedness.
[25:33] I knew. When first I saw. The Lord. And where is. The sole refreshing. View of Jesus. In his word. And these.
[25:44] Things. Seem like. Memories. Irrecoverable. Realities. They seem to be. Gone forever. And you may find. Yourself. Like Job.
[25:54] In the Old Testament. Saying. Oh. That I knew. Where I might. Find him. That's the reality. Of our Christian experience. That's why.
[26:05] There are these. Deep. Base. Notes. In the Psalter. These. Notes. Of longing. These tears. Of the psalmist.
[26:15] Panting. Like. The heart. For the water brooks. Wondering. Where he could. Find God. Remembering. Better days. In his experience. That's not. Some kind of.
[26:26] Remarkable. Spiritual. Depression. That's the ordinary. Experience. Of the people. Of God. They mount. To heaven. And.
[26:37] And. What a blessed thing. When God lifts us up to heaven. But then. To the depths. They do go down. Again. You've experienced that.
[26:48] Haven't you? Peace. One moment. In your heart. And then it seems to vanish. Assurance. One moment. In your consciousness. And then it seems.
[26:58] To be lost. You wonder. If you're ever converted at all. There was evening. But. But what does Peter say to you. To do. To pay attention.
[27:09] To the sure word of prophecy. Why does he say that. To God's people. Because. You have something. Absolutely. Dependable. When you come.
[27:20] To the word of God. And you make use of the word of God. And you stay in the word of God. And you keep. Listening to the voice of the shepherd. As he speaks to you. In his word. Pay attention.
[27:31] Says Peter. To that sure word of prophecy. Until. The day. Star. Arises. In your heart.
[27:43] Because it happens. Doesn't it? The confession of faith. Has a magnificent chapter on. Assurance. Tells us that. If you're in Christ.
[27:55] You. Have the privilege of. Knowing. Infallibly. That you are saved. That you are saved. But not. Necessarily. Always.
[28:06] There are some things. That can. Rob that assurance. And take it away. And you find yourself. In the evening. Of doubt. God. But.
[28:17] Says Peter. You pay attention. To the word of God. You keep reading. You keep listening. You keep. Listening. For the voice of your beloved. Speaking to you.
[28:28] In the scriptures. Brothers. And through. Through the use. Of these. Ordinary means. Of grace. Says the confession. God. Can give you. The assurance. That you need. And restore to you.
[28:39] The joy. Of your salvation. Lloyd-Jones. Has a magnificent. Collection of sermons. On second. Peter. And when he comes. To deal with that passage. About the day star.
[28:50] Arising. In. Our hearts. He simply. Entitles. His sermon. The gleam. In the gloom. Isn't that magnificent?
[29:03] There are gloomy times. In the experience. Of the Christian. Evening times. Of gloom. But you keep listening.
[29:17] To the word of God. Keep reading. The love letter. From your father. In heaven. Keep reading. The oracles. Of the king. Keep.
[29:27] Reading. What he. Has. Written. And you'll. Get your. Glim. In your. Gloom. And. There will be.
[29:38] Evening. And. There will be. Morning. Then let me say this. You may have evenings.
[29:48] Of. Trial. In your Christian life. But. You will also have. Mornings.
[29:59] Of blessing. Evenings. Of testing. Evenings. Of affliction. Contentment.
[30:12] In the Christian life. Is not. Is not. Something. That is. Granted. To us. Instantly. God.
[30:25] Had. One son. Whom. He knew. Would obey him. But. You know. What the Bible. Says. He. Learned.
[30:36] Obedience. Through. The things. That he. Suffered. Can you. Just imagine. God. Saying. About his son. Where. Will I. Put.
[30:46] Jesus. So. That his. Obedience. Will be. Perfect. Well. He could. Save. Rightly. I can. Put him. Anywhere. And.
[30:58] His. Obedience. Will be. Perfect. But. That's. Not. What he. Says. I'll. Put him. In. The. School. Of. Suffering.
[31:08] So. That. He'll. Learn. Obedience. Joseph. Was. A bit. Like. That. Wasn't he. God. Said. Where. Will I. Put. Joseph. So.
[31:18] That. He'll. Be. Obedient. To. Me. I. Think. God. Could. Have. Put. Joseph. Anywhere. And. He. Would. Have. Been. Obedient. To. But. He. Didn't. He.
[31:29] Put. Him. Through. The. Misery. Of. Betrayal. He. Put. Him. Through. The. Trial. Of. Temptation. He. Put. Him. Through. The. Loneliness.
[31:40] Of. Imprisonment. He. Put. Him. Through. The. Agony. Of. Abandonment. And. Forsakenness. And. Then.
[31:50] He. Took. Him. Out. And. Joseph. Had. And. He. Called. The. First. Of. Them. Manasseh. Which. Means. Forgetful.
[32:02] Because. He. Says. God. Has. Made. Me. Forget. All. My. Trouble. It's. Good. When. That. Happens. Isn't. It. God.
[32:13] Let's. You. Forget. All. Your. Trouble. But. Then. Joseph. Had. A. Second. Son. And. I. Think. He. Thought. Better. Of. The.
[32:23] He. Had. Given. His. First. Because. He. Gave. The. Second. The. Name. Ephraim. Which. Means. Fruitful. Because. He. Said. God.
[32:35] Has. Made. Me. Fruitful. In. The. Land. Of. My. Affliction. Do you. See. It's.
[32:46] One. Thing. To. Forget. All. The. Pain. We. Want. That. Don't. We. We. Want. To. Forget. All. The. Trouble. But. It's. Quite. Another.
[32:56] Thing. To. Be. Able. To. Say. God. Made. Me. Fruitful. In. The. Land. Of. My. Affliction. But. That's. What. He. Does. With. His. People. He.
[33:07] Allows. Them. He. Ordains. For. Them. The. Evening. Of. Affliction. So. That. They. Will. Come. Out. In. The. Morning. Of.
[33:17] Fruitfulness. And. Of. Blessedness. Because. You. Can. Be. Sure. Tonight. That. There. Is. No. Wasted. Pain. In.
[33:28] The. Experience. Of. God's. Covenant. Children. I. Keep. Saying. To.
[33:38] My. Congregation. It's. Easier. To. Preach. These. Things. Than. To. Experience. Them. Because. It. Is. But.
[33:49] At. These. Moments. When. I. Think. That. I've. Had. Enough. And. I'm. Almost. At. Breaking.
[34:00] Point. God. Reminds. Me. The. Brew. Street. He. Will. Not. Break. In. Fact. He's. Got. A. Way. Of.
[34:11] Handling. The. Brew. Street. In. Any. Other. Hands. It. Would. Snap. But. In. His. Hands. He. Massages. It. Back. And. Makes. It. Even. Stronger.
[34:21] Than. It. Was. Before. It. Was. Bruised. The. Smoking. Flax. Ready. To. Be. Extinguished. He. Will. Not. Quench.
[34:32] Anyone. Else. Would. Handle. It. Carelessly. And. Snuff. It. Out. But. No. Not. Not. Him. He. Brings. His. People. Through. The. Evening. Of.
[34:42] Affliction. And. Trial. To. Give. Them. A. Morning. Of. Blessing. That. They. Could. Never. Have. Had. Bad. Apart. From. That.
[34:53] Pain. At. That. Time. In. That. Way. For. That. Duration. Under. God's. Sovereign. Control. You.
[35:03] Have. In. Your. Christian. Experience. The. Morning. Of. Sin. The. The. Evening. Of. Sin. Followed. By. The. Morning. Of. Forgiveness. And.
[35:14] The. Evening. Of. Doubt. Followed. By. The. Morning. Of. Assurance. And. The. Evening. Of. Trial. Followed. By. The. Morning. Of. Blessing. And. You.
[35:24] Shall. Have. Unless. God. In. Christ. Comes. First. The. Evening. Of. Death. And.
[35:37] To. Our. Unbelieving. World. That's. Where. It. All. Ends. All. The. Roads. Lead. To. The. Grave. But.
[35:49] Not. Yours. Not. Yours. You. Know. That. There. Will. Be. A. Morning.
[36:02] You. Know. That. Your. Story. Will. Not. End. With. The. Evening. Of. Death. But. With. The. Glorious. Morning. Of.
[36:13] Resurrection. I. Have. An. Old. Book. In. My. Library. And. It's. Theme. Is. Really. The. Death. Beds.
[36:23] Of. The. Old. Testament. And. I. Always. Loved. The. Title. Of. It. It. It's. Entitled. Sunsets. On.
[36:33] The. Hebrew. Mountains. Isn't that. Beautiful. These. Great. Saints. Of. The. Old. Testament. Who. Didn't. See. The. Promises. But. Afar.
[36:44] Off. By. Faith. And. Who. Died. Believing. In. Them. And. Confessing. That. They. Were. Strangers. And. Pilgrims. On. The. Earth. And. Their. Sun. Set.
[36:54] On. These. Hebrew. Mountains. Sunsets. Can. Be. Remarkable. Beautiful.
[37:05] Moments. Of. Light. Night. But. They. Are. Only. The. Bringers. Of. Night. Aren't. They. Don't.
[37:15] You. Just. Love. What. Isaiah. Says. About. God's. People. In. That. Picture. Of. The. Exiles. Returning. To. Zion. The. Inhabitant. Will.
[37:26] Never. Say. Again. I. Am. Sick. Their. Son. Will. Go. No. More. Down. Their.
[37:38] Moon. Will. Never. More. Be. Darkened. John. Saw. It. Didn't. He. There. Was. No. Night. There. For. The.
[37:48] People. Of. God. There. Was. Evening. And. Then. There. Was. Morning. God. Has.
[37:58] Started. Here. As. He. Intends. To. Finish. Not. With. The. Night. Of. Death. But. With. The. Morning. Of. Hope. And.
[38:09] Resurrection. And. Glory. When. The. Dead. In. Christ. Shall. Rise. This. Is. Only. Until. The. Day. Breaks. And. The. Shadows. Flea.
[38:19] Away. And. Little. Wonder. We. Sing. With. The. Psalmist. In. Psalm. 130. More. Than. They. That. For. Morning. Watch. My. Soul. Wait. For.
[38:29] The. Lord. It. May. Be. That. My. Son. Will. Set. On. This. Side. Of. That. Resurrection. Day. But. For. Me. My. Story.
[38:40] Will. Be. Written. And. Encapsulated. In. These. Great. Words. From. Genesis. There. Was. Evening. And. There. Was. Morning.
[38:51] And. In. One. Final. Act. Of. Separation. God. Shall. Remove. The. Seas. And. He. Shall. Remove. The. Darkness. And. He. Shall. Remove.
[39:02] All. The. Impediments. And. All. The. Hindrances. And. Bring. His. People. Simply. Into. The. Paradise. That. He. Is. Preparing. For. Them. The.
[39:12] Dwelling. Place. Of. God. Shall. Be. With. Men. And. He. Will. Dwell. With. Them. And. They. Shall. Be. His. People. And. God. Himself. Shall. Be.
[39:22] Their. God. And. God. Shall. Wipe. Away. All. Tears. From. Their. Eyes. That's. Why. Paul.
[39:32] Says. In. Romans. Eight. That. The. Groaning. Of. The. Creation. Is. Not. The. Groaning. Of. Death. Pangs. But. Of. Birth. Pangs.
[39:44] Groaning. In. Pain. Like. A. Woman. With. Child. Because. The. Groaning. Is. About. To. Be. Over.
[39:56] The. Son. Of. Righteousness. Is. About. To. Rise. With. Complete. Healing. In. His. Wings. Never.
[40:07] Again. To. Set. In. The. Experience. Of. God's. People. That's. Why. Tonight. My. Thesis. Is. Very. Very.
[40:17] Simple. As. A. Christian. You. Always. Finish. With. The. Morning. With. The.
[40:27] Morning. Of. His. Forgiveness. With. The. Morning. Of. His. Grace. In. Your. Soul. With. The. Morning. Of. His. Assuring. Love.
[40:38] And. At. Last. With. The. Morning. Of. Glorious. Resurrection. Well. Watchman. What.
[40:49] Of. The. Night. You. Must. Work. For. Him. While. You. Have. Opportunity. To. Do. So. If. You're. Not. In. Christ. Tonight. You.
[40:59] Must. Get. Into. Him. Before. Your. Sun. Sets. And. Come. To. Discover. For. Yourself. The. Glory. Of. His. Light.
[41:09] In. Your. Soul. So. That. Your. Story. Will. End. With. The. Morning. Like. That. Of. All. Of. God's. People. And.
[41:21] How. Can. This. Be. True. Apart. From. The. One. Who. Is. Himself. The. Root. And.
[41:32] The. Offspring. Of. David. And. The. Bright. And. Morning. Star. Even. So. Come. Lord. Jesus.
[41:42] Let's. Pray.
