[0:00] Matthew chapter 27, and we can read from the beginning, down to verse 31. It's on page 1004 in the Prope of the Bible.

[0:17] Matthew chapter 27 and verse 1. When morning came, all the chief priests and the elders of the people took counsel against Jesus to put him to death. And they bound him and led him away and delivered him over to Pilate the governor.

[0:33] Then when Judas, his betrayer, saw that Jesus was condemned, he changed his mind and brought back the 30 pieces of silver to the chief priests and the elders, saying, I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.

[0:48] They said, What is that to us? See to it yourself. And throwing down the pieces of silver into the temple, he departed and he went and hanged himself.

[1:00] But the chief priests, taking the pieces of silver, said, It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, since it is blood money, since they took of counsel and bought with them the potash field as a burial place for strangers.

[1:15] Therefore that field has been called the field of blood to this day. Then was fulfilled what had been spoken by the prophet Jeremiah, saying, And they took the 30 pieces of silver, the piece of whom on whom a price had been set by some of the sons of Israel.

[1:34] And they gave them for the potash field, as the Lord directed me. Now Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor asked him, Are you the king of the Jews?

[1:47] Jesus said, You have said so. But when he was accused by the chief priests and elders, he gave no answer. Then Pilate said to him, Do you not hear how many things they testify against you?

[2:00] But he gave him no answer, not even to a single charge, so that the governor was greatly amazed. Now at the feast, the governor was accustomed to release for the crowd any one prisoner whom they wanted.

[2:15] And they had then a notorious prisoner called Barabbas. So when they had gathered, Pilate said to them, Whom do you want me to release for you, Barabbas or Jesus, who is called Christ?

[2:29] For he knew that it was out of envy that they had delivered him up. Besides, while he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent word to him, Have nothing to do with that righteous man, for I have suffered much because of him today in a dream.

[2:46] Now the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowd to ask for Barabbas and destroy Jesus. The governor again said to them, Which of the two do you want me to release for you?

[2:58] And they said, Barabbas. Pilate said to them, Then what shall I do with Jesus, who is called Christ? They all said, Let him be crucified.

[3:09] And he said, Why? What evil has he done? But they shouted all the more, Let him be crucified. So when Pilate saw that he was gaining nothing, but rather that a riot was beginning, he took water and washed his hands before the crowd, saying, I am innocent of this man's blood.

[3:28] See to it yourselves. And all the people answered, His blood be on us and on our children. Then he released for them Barabbas, and having scourged Jesus, delivered him to be crucified.

[3:41] Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the governor's headquarters, and they gathered the whole battalion before him. And they stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him, and twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on his head and put a reed in his right hand.

[3:58] And kneeling before him, they mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews. And they spat on him, and took the reed and struck him on the head. And when they had mocked him, they stripped him of the robe and put his own clothes on him, and led him away to crucify him.

[4:16] Amen. And we pray the Lord would add his blessing to his own world. You can sing in Psalm 22 in the Sing Psalms.

[4:27] Psalm 22 and from verse 25. It's on page 27 of the Sing Psalms book.

[4:41] Psalm 22 and verse 25. You are the theme of all my praise. Within the great assembly, Lord, before all those who fear your name, I will fulfill my solemn word.

[4:54] The poor will eat and will be filled, and those who seek the Lord will give. A shout of joyful praise to him. O may your hearts forever live. Psalm 22 and verse 25 to verse 31.

[5:09] And the tune is before the throne. You are the theme of all my praise.

[5:21] Within the great assembly, Lord, before all those who fear your name, I will fulfill my solemn word.

[5:38] But who will eat and will be filled, And those who seek the Lord will give.

[5:48] A shout of joyful praise to him. O may your hearts forever live.

[5:59] O may your hearts forever live. The whole earth will remember him, And turn towards the Lord their God.

[6:16] All peoples will bow down to him, The nations of the world have brought.

[6:27] Dominion to the Lord belongs, And over nations he is king, The rich of all the earth will feast, And worship with an offering, And worship with an offering.

[6:54] All those whose destiny is dust, Will humbly kneel before his throne, They cannot keep themselves alive, For they depend on him alone.

[7:17] Hostility will serve the Lord, And generations still to come, Will tell our people yet unborn, The righteous acts that he has done, The righteous acts that he has done.

[7:45] Amen. Before we turn back to God's word, Let us again unite our hearts in prayer. Lord our heavenly father, We come now before your word, And we seek that you would, That you would penetrate your word, Your gospel, Into your people's hearts.

[8:08] Lord our God, We pray that you would meet them, At the point of their needs. Each and every one of us here tonight, Lord, That we would meet with our savior, Jesus Christ. That you would encourage, Your people here, Who are on the road.

[8:22] That you would uplift them, And help them, To realize they cannot keep going, But they will be kept going. Lord we pray for those here tonight, Who are yet strangers to the gospel.

[8:34] Lord may this be the day, That they come, To accept Jesus Christ, As their savior. May you help us, And enable us, To search your word.

[8:46] May you pour your love, Into your people's hearts. In your name we pray. Amen. Now if you turn back with me, In your bibles, To the gospel of Matthew, To chapter 27, And we can read as our text, This evening, Verse 22 and 23.

[9:04] Matthew 27, Verse 22. And Pilate said to them, Then what shall I do, With Jesus, Who is called Christ?

[9:16] They all said, Let him be crucified. And he said, Why? What evil has he done? But they shouted all the more, Let him be crucified.

[9:28] Greg Wilhite, Is a man, Who had a wife, Called Kathy. They lived in a place, In America, Called Tulsa, In Oklahoma.

[9:45] Tragically, Greg's wife, Was murdered, Leaving Greg, To raise his four month, And fourteen month old, Daughters. A year later, On very little evidence, Greg was arrested, And charged with the wife, With the death of his wife.

[10:04] Greg was innocent, But in the little evidence they had, They sought, To arrest him, And he was therefore, Found himself, On death row, For murder.

[10:16] They hired, His family hired one, Of the greatest attorneys, In their state. But this great attorney, Also had a problem, With alcohol, And turned up, To the court case, Drunk.

[10:31] Greg was then sentenced, To jail, And on to death row. While on death row, Greg was, Assigned a new attorney, And this man, Was convicted, Of the innocence, Of Greg, And worked tirelessly, To right, This terrible, Wrong.

[10:49] Greg Wilhoyt, Spent five years, Of his life, On death row. After five years, Greg was released, On bail, For two years, Before his case, Was retried, And very quickly, He was released, Of all charges.

[11:08] Greg struggled, In his life, Physically, And mentally, To get over, What had happened to him, In the space, Of these eight years. Why do I tell you, The story about, Greg Wilhoyt?

[11:24] Well here, Is a compare, And a contrast. Greg was innocent, Jesus Christ, Was innocent. Greg, Was on death row, Jesus, Was on death row, Greg, Did not want to be there, Jesus Christ, Went there, Willingly, For you, And for me.

[11:48] Here we are, Tonight, At the trial, Of Jesus Christ, Our Lord, And our Saviour, Who came, Willingly, To die, On that cross, For you, And for me.

[12:03] In the gospel of John, Chapter 13, And chapter 14, Jesus, Is before his disciples, And he is preparing them, For his own departure.

[12:14] But Peter, Who remember, Questions him, And wants to go with him. But, If we look at the verses, Before the chapter, That we read tonight, In the end of chapter 26, We see that Peter, Peter denied, Jesus, Peter wanted, To even die with Jesus, To go where Jesus went, But when the heat, Was turned on, Peter, Even Peter, Peter, The disciples, Say, If even Peter, Will deny him, Then what hope, Do we have?

[12:48] The crowd, They condemned Jesus, They condemned him, To death, The crowd here, In our passage, Were crying out, For this man, Jesus, To be crucified, Doesn't take us long, To look in our world, To figure out, That our world, Does not, Like, The gospel, Our world, Hates the gospel, Our country, Is turning, Its back, Upon, Jesus Christ, And everything, That we are doing, Here tonight, Even as Christians, We find it hard, To witness, Why is that?

[13:27] Jesus Christ, Has changed our lives, Why is it, That we struggle, So often, In our witness, For him? Tomorrow, You'll go to work, Or school, Or you'll go, Or you'll meet people, In the street, They'll ask you, So, How was your weekend?

[13:44] Do you tell them, About church, Or do you just say, It was fine, Nothing different, Are we not, Wanting to share, The gospel, That we have, Of what Jesus Christ, Tonight, We will see, Once again, All that he has done, For us, A little girl, Was being told, By her father, The story, The gospel, As her father, Explained, That Jesus Christ, Came into this world, As Jesus Christ, Went to the cross, Willingly, As Jesus Christ, Took away, Her dad's sin, And wants to take away, Her sin, Her wrongdoing, And all of the world's, Wrongdoing as well, If only we will believe, In the gospel, If only we will believe, And give our life, To Jesus Christ, Her father told, Her, The gospel, And in her innocence, Of youth, She turned,

[14:45] To her father, And said, Dad, Then why, Is Jesus Christ, Not bursting out, From you, Why, Every day, If this is true, Of you, Why is Jesus, Not what you want, To be talking about, Why are we, As Christians, In this dark world, Not wanting, To go on, To share the light, Of the gospel, That is a challenge, For me, And for each one, Of us here tonight, To go into our town, Into this country, Into our world, And to share, The gospel, With them, Here in our story, We have Pilate, He didn't want, To have bloody hands, He didn't want, The blood of Jesus Christ, On his hands, The crowd did, They wanted him dead, Why did this crowd, Want Jesus Christ, To die, Well, The apparent reason, They say,

[15:46] He blasphemed, Against their God, In heaven, Jesus Christ, Is their God, He is, Their God, In heaven, And they're saying, That he is blaspheming, Against him, Like we mentioned, In prayer, Throughout it all, Throughout, The whole, Of Jesus' life, Throughout his whole trial, He remained, Calm, And in control, Not once, Did Jesus, Seek, To, Rage, At those, Roman soldiers, Not once, Did he seek, To, Have an outburst, At those, Who were nailing him, To the tree, Not once, Did he go, And to condemn, Those on the cross, Beside him, Not once, Did he say, It was not fair, That he took, The place, Of Barabbas, Jesus, Was calm, And he was in control,

[16:48] Throughout it all, In chapter 26, Of Matthew, And in, Verse 39, We have, The account, Of Jesus, In the garden, Of Gethsemane, In chapter 26, And in verse 39, He says, And going a little further, He fell on his face, And prayed, Saying, My father, If it be possible, Let this cup, Pass from me, Nevertheless, Nevertheless, Not as I will, But as you will, That word, Nevertheless, It just shows, It emphasizes to us, How obedient he was, That he was obedient, Even to the point of death, Our saviour, He suffered for us, John Stott, The commentator says, Jesus is in control,

[17:49] Of the proceedings, It is Pilate, Caiaphas, And the reader, Who are on trial, Jesus is the one, With moral authority, At his own trial, Majestic, In silence, So this evening, I'd like to look at three things, I'd like to look at the two, Who are in prison, The two questions, What Pilate asks, And then finally, The inevitable, That happens, The outcome, The imprisoned, The inquisition, And the inevitable, First of all, We have the two, Who we find, Here in prison, In verse 11, We can read again, Now Jesus, Stood before the governor, And the governor asked him, Are you the king, Of the Jews?

[18:42] And Jesus said, You have said so, Are you the king, Of the Jews? Here we have Jesus, No sin, No evil, No wrongdoing, And yet here he is, Finding himself, In a prison cell, On death row, Prisoner number two, We have Barabbas, Had he done evil?

[19:08] Yes, Had he sinned? Yes, Had he done wrong? Yes, He was a notorious, Criminal, And justifiably, Found himself, On death row, The name Barabbas, It means, Son of the father, So here this evening, At the trial of Jesus Christ, We have, Two sons, Of the father, On centre stage, Some manuscripts will say, That he would have even, Been called, Jesus, Jesus, Was a very common name, In first century, Palestine, So likely, His name, Would actually have been, Jesus, Barabbas, But, Jesus, The name was dropped out, Of Barabbas, Because of irreverence, You couldn't possibly, Have a criminal, With the same name, As our Lord and saviour, You couldn't possibly,

[20:09] They thought, Have this criminal, This murderer, To have the same name, As Jesus Christ, But you can, And, They did, That is exactly, What Jesus Christ, Came to do, Jesus Christ, Came, To identify, With sinners, To, He came, To identify, With you, And with me, Because we are sinners, Because we are, Undeserving of his love, And he came, He came, To this earth, Came from heaven, To earth, So that he could, Identify with you, And with me, So that we can, Live our lives, In the imitation, Of Jesus Christ, That we would seek, To live, Christ like, Lives, And we can realize, As we go through,

[21:10] Our life, Whatever it is, In your life tonight, I don't pretend, To know what it is, Whatever trial, We know, That because Jesus, Came, To identify, With sinners, That Jesus, Can share, Whatever hurt, Whatever difficulty, It may be, In your life tonight, Whatever, Hardship, It may be, You may not know, What the way forward is, Jesus Christ, Tells us, That he is the way, The truth, And the life, He is the God, The great comforter, He will be there, With his outstretched arms, And his everlasting arms, Underneath, To hold us up, Knowing that we can never fall, Too far from him, Knowing that we can never, Be lost, From the grasp, Of our Lord, And our God, He came, To identify, With sinners, He came,

[22:11] To identify, With you, So we have two sons, Of the father, Both named, Jesus, One ended up, On the cross, Intended for the other, The guilty, Walks away free, It's amazing picture, Is it not, Of what the cross, Of Christ, Really means, He took, Barabbas' place, He took the place, Of this murderer, This is what Jesus Christ, Came to do, He came to take, The place of sinners, And to identify, With each one of us, This afternoon, I was, Sharing with my Sunday school class, We're going through, The catechism, Not making them learn enough, By heart, But, We were on catechism number, 33 today, And I was, Speaking to them, About justification,

[23:13] The question asks, What is, Justification, I'm not going to, Give you the whole answer, It's rather long, But Jesus, The justification, It speaks, About, How we, Are made, Righteous, How, I asked him the question, I said, What, How, If we look at the Bible, And if we are all sinners, Every single one of us, What is the just, Penalty, For us, And, My 13 year old, Lad in my class, Said to me, Hell, And I said, Yes, But I quickly, Went on, To share with them, No matter where, In the Old Testament, We find, Prophecies of judgment, Or wherever you find, In evangelistic sermons, Or throughout the New Testament, Where, We are, We are confronted, With the reality, That it is either life, Or death, You're either with Jesus,

[24:14] Or you're not with Jesus, And we quickly, And you always see, As you have, A prophecy of judgment, There's always, A thread, Of hope, And my friend, Here tonight, Is the gospel of hope, This is the gospel, Hell, Hell does not need, To be a reality, For any single one, Of us here, I don't come, Nobody comes, To scare anybody, Into becoming a Christian, But we come, To share with you, The good news, Of the gospel, And that is that, Jesus Christ, Came, To identify, With sinners, He came, To come, And walk, Alongside you, In your life, He came, To take your place, On that cross, So that you too, Could see, That this man, He loves me, He loves me, More than, Any love, I can experience, In this world, Nothing can suffice, That gaping hole, In your heart, Apart, From a faith,

[25:15] And a belief, And a relationship, With Jesus Christ, And he has made us, The catechism goes on to say, Righteous in the eyes, In the sight of God, Every drop, Of sin, Is washed away, By the blood, Pilate, Not water, By the blood, Of Jesus Christ, Our sins, Are washed away, And we're made righteous, Pure, Perfect, In the eyes, Of our God, So here we have, Barabbas, A robber, He was condemned, Of robbery, Of insurrection, Which is a violent, Uprising, Against the authorities, And he was, A murderer, Is there any question, Of who, To release, After all, That this man, Barabbas, Has done, We have the life giver, And all of our saviour,

[26:17] Or the sinner, And the killer, The choice, Is ours tonight as well, As we go on, To our second point, We have, The inquisition, We have, The two questions, What, And why, Secondly, The inquisition, Pilate asks the question, In verse, 22 and 23, Pilate said to them, Then what shall I do, With Jesus, Who is called Christ, They all said, Let him be crucified, And he said, Why, What evil has he done, What, And why, What shall I do, With Jesus, Who is called, Christ, Pilate asked, And it's the most, Fundamental question, That any single one of us, Here tonight can ask, What must I do, With Jesus, Who is Christ, What are you going to do, With Jesus, And the answer, Is going to affect, Not only, Your life here, But all the more,

[27:18] The life that is to come, Pilate asked the question, What, Shall I do, With this man, Jesus, He asked, Because he saw, No sin, In him, He saw, That there was, No need for this man, To die, No need for them, To kill him, To put him, On the cross, But Pilate, He buckled, He buckled, Under the pressure, He thought, More for his, Political standing, No matter how far, From the truth, He was, He tried, To release Jesus, But he feared, For his career, What is the priority, In your life tonight, Your career, Your car, Your sports team, My friend, If, Your Lord, And your God, Is not number one, In your priority, Then he's in the wrong place, Where is he,

[28:20] In your priority list, Does the Lord, Your God, Mean more to you, Than anything else, In this world, Can ever offer, We hope and pray, That we keep, Our priorities, And our minds, Fixed upon, Our saviour, The gospel of John, It records for us, An addition, Which Matthew does not, It says, If you let this man go, You are no friend, Of Caesar's, This friends, Of Caesar's, Was a category, A category, That was hard, To achieve, Such membership, But Pilate, He had attained it, Through the relation, Of his wife, Claudia, He had a membership, He was part of this, Group, The friends of Caesar's, But he would have lost, That membership, He would have lost, The membership of Rome, Knew that he had freed, A pretender, To political power, If they found out, That this man Jesus, Who everybody else,

[29:22] Wanted to condemn, And kill, If they found out, He had set him free, Then he would have lost, This prestigious place, So he thought, Pilate, He asked in hope, Of Christ's followers, To speak out, He did not want, Christ to die, Yet, He also did not, Want to overrule, So we need to apply, This question to ourselves, What are we going to do, With this man Jesus, My friend, If you are here, As a Christian tonight, You will know, That many, Are going to stand up, Against you, This world, Will stand up, Against us, But it is the Lord, Our God, Who gives us strength, To keep on going, He gives us the strength, For every day, So will you cower, Like Pilate, Will you deny him, Like Peter, Or will you stand up,

[30:23] For your saviour, If he will, Then he will fill your heart, With his love, Come to the life giving stream, And here you will drink, And never thirst again, Come my friend, And taste, That God is good, He is inviting us, Here is the message, Of the gospel, Someone who I used to work with, As they, Found out, I was going to begin preaching, Said to me, Don't be like some of those, Who just preach doom and gloom, But I said to her, We need to know, The reality, The world does not want to hear, About the negatives, Of the way that they are living their life, But my friend, I come tonight, Sharing with you, The good news, And every person, Who comes to stand, In this pulpit, The ministers of this congregation, Share this good news,

[31:25] Wake in and wake out, The good news, And the offer of salvation, Is there for you, Tonight, To embrace it, To grasp it, With your whole, Life, And to accept Christ, Into your heart, The second question, That pilot asks is, Why?

[31:44] Why? What evil has he done? Why do they seek, This man Jesus, To be crucified? He has done no wrong, Yet they cry, To kill him, Remember, This was the same crowd, That less than a week ago, As Jesus entered into Jerusalem, They were singing, Hosanna, Hosanna, And now, Here they are, Gunning for his death, Gunning for his blood, To be spilt, What a fickle people, What a fickle people, We are as well, Neither judge, Nor prosecutor, Could find any wrong, With this man, The repeated assertion, Of his unspotted innocence, And that he died, For our sins, He remained sinless, Throughout it all, He was obedient, Unto his father's will, But picture the scene,

[32:48] As they cried, For Barabbas to be set free, We read in verse 21, The governor again said to them, Which of the two, Do you want me to release for you? And they said, Barabbas, Imagine, Barabbas sitting there, In his prison cell, Knowing that the days, Had gone, Knowing now, That it was only hours, Minutes, Until that door, Was to open, And he was to be led, To the cross, And to be killed, But he hears, This commotion outside, And he even hears, His own name, Possibly, Coming through, The prison walls, Maybe he wonders, Is this then, Coming for me now?

[33:37] Jesus would have been there, In the prison too, But Jesus knew, That he was going to the cross, Remember in Gethsemane, He knew that now was the time, That he was to be obedient, To his father's will, But Barabbas was there, And as the commotion went on, And as ultimately, The door was opened to him, And as the Roman soldier, Came to him and said, You've been set free, What do you think went through his mind?

[34:10] What do you think went through, Barabbas' head, As he thought, I deserve to die, I robbed from this people, I was, Trying to do everything, Against the authorities, Of this land, I murdered their own people, And now they're setting me free, My friend, Jesus Christ has set you free as well, The prison door is opened, The chains can be loosened, And you can be free tonight, If you accept, What Christ has done, For you, It's not what you need to do, Catechism goes on to say, It's by faith, In question 33, It's by faith, That we, Lay hold of all of this, It's not by the law, It's not by anything, That I need to do, But it's all, But what Jesus Christ,

[35:12] Has done, The wages of your sin, Is death, My chains are gone, I've been set free, Finally, We have, The inevitable, The crowd, Were persistent, It was ludicrous, Of them, To be telling the judge, What sentence to cast, They were filled though, With this malice, And this rage, And they cried out, To crucify him, Crucify this, Lord, That you call, Jesus Christ, Christ, And Pilate, He submitted, To the people's desires, The power of conscience, And Pilate, Was strong enough, To protest, But it was not, Strong enough, To resist, Barabbas, The evil murderer, Set free, Jesus, The sinless, Saviour, Was crucified, W.M. Taylor,

[36:14] Gives, Practical lessons, That we can follow, From Pilate's decisions, First of all, That we need to be, On our guard, In the present day, Secondly, That we need to remember, That there is a higher, Rule of life, Pilate was concerned, About Caesar, But he should have been, Concerned about God, About Jesus Christ, Who was before him, Thirdly, We need to learn, That sin, Is a voluntary thing, Often, Do we not come, Seeking, What we think, Is repentance, And saying, Oh the devil, Made me do that sin, No he didn't, He may have, Tempted you, He may have, Put it before you, And lured it, Before your face, But my friend, You're the one, That did the sin, It is us, Who sin, In and of ourselves, We need to come, Humbly, To the throne of grace, Approach my soul, The mercy seat,

[37:15] Where Jesus answers prayer, There humbly fall, Before his feet, And none shall perish there, And fourthly, He says, Do not forget, That it is not the washing, Of hands and water, But the cleaning, Efficacy of the blood, Of Christ alone, That can take, Away, Guilt, Jesus Christ, Pilate washed his hands, Thought that was enough, Delivered him over, To be scourged, And crucified, This scourging, Was horrific, That was a cruel punishment, It was the death, Of many who endured it, They didn't even make it, To the cross, They were tied, Jesus would have been tied, To a post, And beaten, With a leather whip, Interwoven with bone, Or metal, Tearing through the skin, And tissue, And often, Exposing bone, And intestines, Matthew takes us,

[38:16] To the heart, Of the gospel, And in Isaiah, And chapter 53, And verse 5, It says this, But he was wounded, For our transgressions, He was crushed, For our iniquities, Upon whom, Was the chastisement, That brought us peace, And with his stripes, We are healed, Fulfillment, Of the Old Testament, Prophecies, And Jesus' prediction, Of his death, The Roman soldiers, Would have played, Cruel games, With those, That were brought, Before them, They would dress them up, Put them on a, Huge game board, If you like, But their actions, On this day, Spoke louder, Than they knew, Because the one, They dressed, And hailed as the king, Was truly, The crucified, King, But even unto his death, He maintained, His authority,

[39:17] He went, To the farthest lengths, He died, My friend, So that you, Could live, And tonight, Have the opportunity, Of the gospel, And we conclude, With a question, A pilot asked, What, And why, What are you, Going to do, With this man, Jesus, What are you, Going to do, With Jesus, That they called, Christ, I leave that question, With you, And I leave with you, These four, Stanzas, Of a familiar, Hymn, Jehovah, See, Can you, As the writer goes, From not knowing, About, His faith, To be trusted, In this man, Jesus, To ultimately, Realising, To whom else, Shall I go, What will you do, With this man, Jesus, I offered with pleasure, To soothe, Or engage,

[40:17] Isaiah's wild measure, And John's simple page, But even, When they pictured, The blood sprinkled tree, Jehovah said, Can you see nothing to me, Like tears from the daughter, Of Zion that roll, I wept, When the waters went over his soul, It thought not, That my sins, Had nailed to the tree, Jehovah, Say, Can you, Was nothing to me, When free grace awoke me, By light from on high, Then legal fear shook me, I trembled to die, No refuge, No safety, In self could I see, Jehovah, Say, Can you, My saviour must be, My terrors all vanished, Before the sweet name, My guilty fears banished, With boldness I came, To drink at the fountain, Life giving and free, Jehovah, I seek in you, Is all things, To me,

[41:19] What are you going to do, For this man Jesus, Amen, We can conclude, By singing together, In Psalm 130, As we sing, Of those redeemed people, You and I here tonight, Who love the Lord our God, We are the redeemed, Page 421, In the Scottish Psalter, Of Psalm 130, Lord, From the depths to thee I cried, My voice, Lord, Do thou hear, Unto my supplications voice, Give an attentive ear, Psalm 130, We'll sing the whole psalm, To God's prayer.

[42:06] Lord, From the depths to thee I cried, My voice, Lord, Do thou hear, Unto my supplications voice, Give an attentive ear, Lord, Who shall stand, If thou, O Lord, Should mark any pity, But yet with thee, Our givennesses,

[43:08] Therefore, But yet with thee, And before I slone again, My soul, Without what?

[43:27] My hope is in His word, For the Lamb, May that our morning wash my soul is for the Lord.

[43:52] I say, O'er now, may that you wash the morning light to see?

[44:09] Let Israel hold in the door, for within mercies be.

[44:27] Unplenty us, redemption, in a self-love within.

[44:44] And from all his iniquities, he is fresh up with him.

[45:05] The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen. Amen.
