[0:00] Please join me in Psalm 105. What a beautiful song. How many of you have never heard that song before? I mean, isn't it so nice when you can hear a new song that you just love? It talks about the trustworthiness of our Lord that you might have never heard before.
[0:14] I've never heard that. Ladies did a great job. Ben didn't get in their way with the guitar. I appreciate that. And just a thank you for reminding us. He is trustworthy. So 2,000 to 3,000 people that don't have the Word of God in their language.
[0:31] And so they're not learning of a new song tonight about Jesus and His trustworthiness. And they don't even have a chance to read about the greatest stories in all of history yet.
[0:43] Somebody's having to tell them about it. And hopefully, and I know they are. I know that's the work that they're involved in. But just to have a copy of it, how much history would you miss out on? I'm not a history buff or a historian by any stretch of the imagination.
[0:59] But so many people in the world want to know how the world was created. And I've got to read about it. So many people want to know what God was about. I have dozens and dozens of stories that in each one of them, I learned something specific about Him.
[1:12] What a wonderful gift. And so in Psalm 104, the last three Psalms is divided up into five books. We have 45 more chapters. But as you would imagine, Psalm 119, we will be there for a long time.
[1:26] But there's five chapters or five books is divided into. And so the last three of these Psalms that go before we get to the last book of Psalms are historical Psalms.
[1:38] And they're historical hymns. Last one was about nature. And we saw that just because some people have elevated creation over the creator doesn't mean us as God-fearing people shouldn't look out and see, be reminded of the gospel.
[1:52] This is not our world. He created it. We can't make any of these things happen. If we wanted to do, if we wanted to, we can't recreate any of these processes. He is big. We are small. He is the creator. We're sinners.
[2:02] We need a savior. And creation ought to remind us of it. This one, we look at the faithfulness of God that's outlined for us. And the faithfulness through history. And then the last one, we see it from the perspective of a group of people that weren't faithful.
[2:17] God is faithful. Psalm 106 shows about maybe the folly, if I need to stay alliterated for Greg. This is the faithfulness of God. The next one will show the folly of the people throughout history.
[2:28] And so we have these three Psalms of history that are happening at the end of this book of Psalm. It's a long chapter. Instead of reading it to you all in one reading, I'm going to read it to you in sections and show you some things in each passage.
[2:41] But in the next 25 minutes or so, we're going to look at the entire Psalm. Do you know that I still wonder if I have enough content to fill the time? And Stephanie always says, what are you talking about?
[2:53] You always preach long. And she's like, you took a little bit long at the beginning. I'm like, just because I can preach 45 minutes doesn't mean anybody wants to hear me do it. All right, 45 minutes to long sermon.
[3:04] And she said, you're going to have no trouble. She says, I dare you to let us out early one time. And I just can't. Like my father-in-law says, I've always wanted to preach a short sermon. I can't, but I've always wanted to do it.
[3:15] Right? And so this, as I'm starting to think, I'm thinking, oh man, this is a lot to cover in 28 minutes. But we will because the adult group needs to end when the pogo group ends. All right? And then we also get to meet again next week if there's anything remaining.
[3:28] So Psalm 105, in these first six verses, I want you to see, it talks a lot about worship. The Lord should be praised for His mighty works and His faithfulness to His Word. If you have a handout, you'll see that verses 1 and 11 through 11 are divided into those two categories.
[3:44] And so these first six verses just really speak a lot about how we should worship. When you don't know what you should do with your time, you have five minutes on your hands, and you don't know what I should do. Turn to Psalm 105 and look at nine things that you could do with your time that would be well worth every minute that you could give to it.
[4:02] Psalm 105, 1. Oh, give thanks unto the Lord, call upon His name, make known His deeds among the people, sing in the hymn, sing psalms in the hymn, talk ye of all His wondrous works.
[4:13] Glory in His holy name. Let the heart of them rejoice that seek the Lord, seek the Lord and His strength, seek His face evermore. Remember His marvelous works that He hath done, His wonders and the judgments of His mouth.
[4:26] Oh, ye seed of Abraham, His servant, ye children of Jacob, His chosen. If you're counting, some of you might have got seven, some of you might have got ten. Let me, I'll show you how, that I've grouped these together.
[4:38] First of all, we're told to give thanks unto the Lord. Now, when we enter into the presence of God, that we ought to come with a heart of gratitude. No gratitude, no worship.
[4:49] No gratitude in our lives, no living out the reason that God created us. So, gratitude is going to be foundational. If worship is a response to His greatness, then a lack of gratitude means there's going to be no response to Him.
[5:02] That's when we go to see people worship the Lord. We share the gospel. We tell of the wondrous works of our Lord. We're telling them that there's somebody of greater value than they've ever known in this world in the person of Jesus.
[5:15] This is the day the Lord has made, so we will be glad. We will be rejoicing in Him. Without that mindset, without that heart, we will be missing out. Now, if you're obsessing about the past, if you're observing what's in, if you're concerned about the future, you can plan for the future, but you can't worry about it.
[5:30] Quote by Elizabeth Elliot. So, if you're so obsessed about the future or the past, and you're not living for the day with gratitude, then your heart is in a position to be in worship. So, that would be the first thing that you could do.
[5:42] I don't know what I should be doing with my time. Number one, give thanks unto the Lord. Secondly, call upon His name. This is an expression for the people of God gathering together to worship Him.
[5:53] Not just to call out for Him, but that's how they phrased it. Hey, somebody could have asked you, hey, what are you going to do tonight? It's Thursday night. Oh, me and my friends are going to get together and we're going to call upon the name of the Lord. All right?
[6:03] You could say that. They'll think it's strange, but they think you're strange anyway, so just lean into it. All right? And you could say, here we are to call upon the name of the Lord. The first mention, Genesis 4, 26.
[6:14] And to Seth, unto him also there was born a son, and he called his name Enos. Then began men to call upon the name of the Lord. And this chapter, it was a contrast between Cain and Seth's kids.
[6:29] You know, Cain had killed Abel, and now we're watching Seth's kids that were being born. And they are going to live in a different way. The descendants of Cain, it said they would practice hurting.
[6:39] They were involved in music production. They were working with medals. And at the same time, it said that the world was becoming more wicked and wicked. But Seth's descendants stood out from the corrupt society in that they began to call on the name, of the Lord.
[6:54] And so, that was the defining characteristics. This is what Cain's family is all about. What's Seth's family all about? All those people, those are the people that call upon the name of the Lord. That's a good thing to be known from.
[7:06] All right? I don't mind that my neighbors consistently see me leaving every Sunday morning at the same time. They know what we're doing. They know if they ever need to ride to church, there's one that's headed that way.
[7:17] Because we are the family, a family of many other families that call upon the name of the Lord. My friend this week accidentally, he meant to send out an email to the members of his church. Very, just the members of his church.
[7:29] But he sent out an email to everybody that ever attended his church in the last 10 years. And the message was pretty strong. And it said, it's time to get back to church.
[7:40] All right? It's time to get back to church regularly. We want to see you. We need you here. Like, really, people? We got to get back to church. All right? And he said he was very strong about it.
[7:50] But he thought he was speaking to people that he knew well that were members of the church. But it providentially went out to, you know, everybody that ever visited that. And I'm grateful that I've never intentionally or unintentionally had to send out an email to y'all to say, Guys, it's time to get back to church.
[8:07] All right? That I had to try to encourage you and help you understand because it's valuable. Because this is where people call upon the name of the Lord. The psalmist is saying one of the marks of true worship is you really want to be with the people of God.
[8:20] You really want to be worshiping. People that check boxes don't come to worship. People that are checking boxes aren't calling upon the name of the Lord. This would explain the language in the New Testament when it says don't forsake the assembly.
[8:34] It doesn't say just be faithful to attend. No, it speaks about it in terms of uniting your heart with a group of people. It talks about really living our lives together as a family so much that when you miss church, you should what?
[8:49] Miss church, right? Whether when the occasion arises and it does for us, you're traveling, whatever, and you can't be here. Well, you're not forsaking the assembly if your heart is wanting to be with those people.
[9:00] We start forsaking the assembly when we just say you can start forsaking the assembly even by showing up, right? When you say that I'm not going to be in this thing with all of my heart. The next thing we see here is make known his deeds among the people.
[9:13] Make known his deeds among the people. And we heard about South Africa. And we heard about Bolivia. And we've heard about Taiwan and China. And then Greg has some cards for our teenagers to give out.
[9:24] We can invite them to an evangelistic event in April. And all of these acts of missions where we're trying to get the gospel out are acts of worship. The act of sharing the gospel is an act of worship.
[9:35] Making known his deeds among the people. Continuation here for them. Genesis 12, 3. I will bless them that bless thee and curse him that curses thee. And then they shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
[9:47] As they were making known the deeds among the people. As God was putting people near Israel. As Israel was going out. They were making known his wondrous deeds. Nextly here. Saying unto him.
[9:59] And we have done that tonight in great fashion. We have sung about the grace of God. And heard about how he's trustworthy. And that those who know God will want to sing to him. Why?
[10:10] Because singing brings the truth in our hearts together. It's truth and experience. Singing is a great way to communicate the things that you know about God.
[10:22] Music is not just something that we do to prepare your hearts for the preaching of the Bible. Music is a work of expressing your heart about the things of God. That's why it's so important that they choose music that is filled with truth.
[10:35] Because if you're going to make me yell the words back at you. You better give me words that I want to say. Right? And so that's what they do. They choose words that all of us are in agreement on. That we want to say together as an expression of our heart.
[10:49] Some of us in tune. And some of us, me and Brother Ty. Not as same tune. A tune. Just a different tune. All right? We're hearing something in the heavenlies. All right? There's octaves and tones that me and him can hear that you won't hear until you get to heaven.
[11:03] All right? And so when those, and here's something to get a little personal here. When there's somebody by you who is not singing, don't judge them. But pray for them.
[11:14] Reach out to them. Inquire. Say, you know, what's going on? How can I help you? The worst would be, you know, you grew up singing it. When the song is, come we that love the Lord.
[11:26] And then those refuse to sing who never knew our God. Well, if you don't know our God, then you have a right not to sing our songs about God. But we're so glad that you're here hearing us.
[11:36] And let us tell you about him. And someday when you know him, you're going to want to sing these songs with us. But as believing people in here, that sometimes you're not singing. And it's just you're preoccupied.
[11:47] There's something on your heart. Somebody needs to pray. It doesn't mean that you're wanting to be defiant towards God. It's just you don't have the ability to sing at the time. And somebody noticing that in your life, you shouldn't see his judgment.
[11:58] And you shouldn't see it as judgment. But it's to say, hey, I noticed that tonight you just weren't able to sing. There's something I can pray with you about. I love what the pastor of Bellevue Baptist Church recently did. That's in Memphis where Adrian Rogers pastored.
[12:11] But it was a men's conference. About 5,000 men were there. And he came out and said, he was noticing between songs. And he came out and said, some of you men haven't sung a lick. What's wrong? Jesus not glorious enough for you?
[12:24] And those men took the challenge. And they sung the roof off the place. All right. And so, come up here and say, is Jesus not glorious enough for you? Is there something else that we could present to you tonight that you'd want to sing about?
[12:35] Is there anything that would move you? And so, he is most certainly worthy of us singing to him. And the next statement is, talk of his wondrous works. When we're done singing, when we're done listening to message about the things of God, let's keep talking about his wondrous works.
[12:53] One of the tests of a church would be the faithfulness to the word from the pulpit. A responsibility that I have and others have. But you know the faithfulness, the talk of the wondrous works of God in the foyer and in the parking lot.
[13:07] And when we run into each other at Walmart or the Walmart where I'm from. All right. Wherever we see each other, we have a responsibility to talk of his wondrous works. And so, that's what we should be about.
[13:19] That's what the conversation should go towards. What basketball is during March Madness, talking about God should be to God's people all the time. All right. Some of you all don't even know what March Madness is about.
[13:31] I'm pretty sure we have the most sports illiterate church in the nation. All right. It's a big basketball tournament. I'm from Kentucky. It's very important to us right now. All right. And so, we talk about it.
[13:42] It's the season to talk about college basketball. And I'm trying to say, for God's people, it's always the season to talk about the things of God, to share something. Somebody shared with me about how one of their co-workers, somebody in their company, they didn't believe would ever get saved.
[13:56] Or it was just living away from the Lord, didn't show any interest in the things of God. And then God gloriously saved them. And I loved hearing that story. I don't know that person, but I'm thankful somebody would share the wondrous works of God with me.
[14:10] What has God done in your life recently? If we were at camp, as some of us would go to Sand Mountain this weekend with teenagers, and I didn't have to follow the rules, that the adult class that Miss Sandy calls us in here, all right?
[14:21] If I was with the puggles or the sparks in there, I would make all of you get up right now and talk about the wondrous works of God. Because if you can't do it in here with these people, you won't do it out there with anybody else.
[14:35] And so, I won't make you do that right now because I only have 16 more minutes, all right? But I want to encourage you, when we are together, talk about the wondrous works. If you say, I'm having trouble sharing the gospel, I'm having trouble sharing the good news of Christ with unbelieving people, the first person to start talking to about the gospel is yourself, right?
[14:54] That conversation. The second group would be just start talking to the people around you that you know aren't going to slam a door in your face when you're talking to them. Or people that aren't going to reject you. And as you do that, it will overflow into all the conversations of your life.
[15:10] And the next one is glory in His holy name. The treasure God, to delight in Him. God should not have to share the platform with anyone else. Isaiah 42, 8, I am the Lord.
[15:20] That is my name and my glory will I not give to another. Neither my praise to graven images. Gives you an understanding, this weight, this substance of glory, this attention to His holy name.
[15:32] And then let your heart rejoice as you seek the Lord. Let your heart rejoice as you seek the Lord. God is worship. God is to be worshiped when we are content in Him.
[15:43] It's a matter of the heart. Worship is a matter. It's not just something that we do, but worship should cause your heart to rejoice. And so when you have five minutes and you don't know what you need to do, you can go to Psalms 105.
[15:55] You can look at these first six verses and you can see some things here. And one of them is something you can do even when you can't speak and there's nobody else around. Is that I'm going to, as George Mueller said, make myself happy in Jesus.
[16:08] And I'm just going to sit here and I'm going to rejoice in Him. Nothing, I can't do anything else. I'm just going to rejoice in Him. And then seek the Lord, His strength in His face. Putting all three of those together.
[16:19] When we should go to the Lord in prayer. We set our heart and our soul towards Him. 1 Chronicles 22, 19 says, Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord, your God.
[16:30] Set your heart as you will go to His face. This is referring to praying. The Bible tells us that in Mark 11, 17, they had taken a place that ought to be a house of prayer, turned it into a den of thieves.
[16:43] This place ought to be a house of prayer, not because we're the temple, but because we are an assembly of praying people. So any place that we would go should turn into a place of prayer, because we are a praying people.
[16:58] We are a group of people that are seeking His face. So it would only be natural that a praying people, when we get together, would make this a house of prayer. Yes, there ought to be attention to it.
[17:09] Yes, there ought to be programming given to it. Certainly, it ought to be given respect in our services. But I'm just saying, in the nature of the type of people we are, whatever room that we begin to fill ought to become a place of prayer.
[17:24] And then lastly in this list, remember His marvelous works. You could sit there and just rejoice for simply just remembering things. It's a powerful way to meditate upon the goodness of God, just to go through order.
[17:37] God, when I was young, You did this. When I was a little bit older, You did this. You did this for my parents. You did this for so-and-so. And just go through all those testimonies. Surely, you have a friend like I do who's already like, Hey, man, you remember when this happened?
[17:49] I had this one friend, Clint. And we hadn't been out of high school like three days. And he's like, Hey, man, remember back in high school when we did this? I'm like, Clint, we just graduated, all right? You're talking about last week. Of course, I remember what we did.
[18:01] But he instantly, now when you see him, he's like, Man, you remember? You remember this? He just loves thinking about the old days there and remembering it. It's a good thing to be in the Christian life, to come up to him.
[18:12] And so, in Paxson, does this to me all the time. He'll pull me close and he'll say, Trent, God sure has been good to your family. You remember when those kids were so little running around here? Look at him right now.
[18:22] Look at Thatcher. Look how big he is. And he helps me remember that God's been faithful to me through all the years. Verses 7 through 11, we see the faithfulness of his word.
[18:32] He is the Lord our God. His judgments are on the earth. He has remembered his covenant forever. And we are grateful that he remembers his promises. We don't have to keep it in front of him.
[18:43] He makes a promise and he remembers it. You've probably been told, when I write an email sometimes, I'll look and I'll see. I've started with the word I too many times. It's just an easy way to communicate.
[18:54] I think this. I'm going to do this. Then you look at your email and you have like six or seven sentences that start with the letter I. And you say, I'm not supposed to do this. Anybody ever been taught this? All right. You shouldn't. You're not supposed to do this.
[19:04] And it also makes you see that that's not a healthy way to be thinking. I this and I this. But here, I'm going to take you through some verses quickly. And you're going to see he hath all throughout the passage.
[19:17] So many times that it's just not a few. You're going to see there's a theme in the fact that he is the one that remembers and keeps his promises. God is the one fulfilling this. He is the one in the story who is faithful.
[19:29] Verse 8. He hath remembered his covenant forever. If you're looking at the handout, they're all underlined. Verse 9. Which covenant he made with Abraham. And it was his oath unto Isaac. Verse 10.
[19:39] And confirmed the same unto Jacob. But who did? It was he that confirmed it unto Jacob. He gave it unto Abraham. He keeps it promised for generation after generation. Verse 14. He suffered no man to do them wrong.
[19:51] Yea, he reproved the kings for their sake. He gave the promise. And he's the one who's protecting them. Verse 16. He called for a famine upon the lamb. And he broke the whole staff of bread. He was involved in this.
[20:02] Verse 25. He turned the heart of the people, his heart to hate his people, to deal subtly with his servants. And then verse 26. Moses didn't just show up. He sent Moses, his servant, and Aaron has chosen.
[20:15] He sent darkness. Verse 28. And made dark. And they rebelled not against his word. Moses and Aaron responded to the word that God gave. He sent them. Verse 29.
[20:25] In the miracles, he turned their waters into blood and he slew their fish. He gave them hell for rain. Verse 32. And a flaming fire in the land. Verse 33. He smote the vines also and their figs.
[20:36] They couldn't have done any of that. Verse 34. He spake and the locusts came. Verse 36. He smote also the firstborn and their land. Verse 37. He brought them forth also with silver and gold.
[20:47] When they left Egypt and they got all the silver and gold, nobody got to raise their hand and say, hey, this was my idea. No, he did that. He brought them forth with a cloud for covering. Verse 39.
[20:58] Then he opened up a rock and water gushed out of it. Verse 42. Why did he do all this? He, he, he. Why did he do this? It's because he remembered his holy promise and Abraham his servant.
[21:13] He remembered he made a promise to them and he remembered his servant. And then lastly, and he brought forth his people with joy. In our journey through life, he will bring us forth.
[21:24] And when he does, he will bring us forth with joy and is chosen with gladness. Our story is the story of God remembering his promises. Their history should matter to us because their God is our God.
[21:39] It's good to remember God's protection and deliverance. Verses 12 through 15. He says, when they were but a few in number, yea, very few and strangers in it. When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another, he suffered no man to do them wrong.
[21:55] Yea, he reproved kings for their sake saying, touch not mine anointed and do my prophets no harm. He brought protection upon them. He gave them the message. He sent them out.
[22:05] He was the one providing. The children of Israel would not be a people if it was not for God's protection. We've seen that all throughout history. God is doing that.
[22:16] He provides deliverance for them. He caught a famine in the land. He'd break the staff of bread. But he sent a man before them. And who was it he sent? He sent Joseph ahead of time. When they thought that all this was just falling apart, God sent his servant Joseph ahead of time.
[22:32] And now there's a famine in the land. What are we going to do? We don't know what to do. There's nothing we can do. Well, he had already done something. He had made provision. You know, when we say, God, I'm in a place.
[22:43] I have nothing. I need you to do something. He would say, I've already put it in the motion before you even knew what was going on. He's amazing.
[22:54] It's good to remember God's blessings on his people and his judgment upon his oppressors. Remember his blessings. They were helpless people. They were in captivity. They would have stayed there if God did not intervene.
[23:05] Verse number 24, and he increased his people greatly and made them stronger than their enemies. God did that. He increased the people.
[23:16] He brought them to a place and he made them stronger than his enemies. And then his judgment upon the oppressors. They didn't do this. He sent Moses and he sent Aaron and they showed signs.
[23:27] And Moses and Aaron, they didn't rebel against the word. But it was God that showed that he was greater than all the false gods of that. He did every one of those miracles. He did that.
[23:38] God brought judgment upon the false gods. God brought judgment upon the oppressors. And it's good to remember that God redeemed his people, providing for them and brought them into the land.
[23:49] He delivers his people from bondage. Verse number 37, he brought them forth also with silver and gold. And there was not one feeble person among their tribes. Hundreds of thousands of people are leaving Egypt.
[24:04] And not a single one of them had to be left behind because they were too feeble to leave. Who could do that? What president had brought us health care to a point that you could move that many people?
[24:16] I'm not sure that I could get all of you out of the room right now if I needed to. Just kidding, all right? You're a healthy group in here, all right? But you could talk about moving that many people through there, but none of them were too feeble to be left behind.
[24:28] Who did that? How was that possible? With all the... It wasn't like they had a great workout program. It wasn't that they had a great diet. It was the God of heaven that did that. God brought them out with treasures.
[24:40] Not a single one of them wasn't able to leave. Egypt was glad they departed. Verse number 38, a group of people that said, we won't let you go for nothing. Verse number 38, Egypt was glad when they departed for the failure of them fell upon them.
[24:52] Can we go? Let my people go. We're not going to let you go. Verse 38, we're so glad to see you leave, all right? Hey, here, take something with you, all right? Here, anything you want. Just go ahead and take it.
[25:02] Take your earrings off. Come, take this with you. God did all that. He did that. Talk about turning a story completely around. You say, there's no way I can change this.
[25:13] Not even a little bit. This is the worst. I can't do anything. We're in a horrible situation. God can turn a 180 in the story in a short amount of verses. And what couldn't be done at all can be done with gladness because of our God.
[25:27] Here we see the contrast between Egypt and Israel. In Egypt, one dead in every house. And among the Israelites, not one so much as limping. Charles Spurgeon made that note.
[25:38] And one, somebody's going to die in every house. And the Israelites, when they're leaving, nobody's even limping on their way out. And then he provides a way for them. Yes, he parted the Red Sea, and that's incredible.
[25:49] But remember, there was a cloud over them during the day. I've not spent any time walking through the desert, but I would want a cloud, all right? And in the middle of the night, I would want a fire leading me.
[25:59] That's the staining that God was doing. He brought quail and manna and fresh water to them. And then he brings them into their promised inheritance and promises to keep his word. Verse 42, and he remembered his holy promise that he had made.
[26:14] He can bring you on your journey with joy and gladness. And if you don't have it on your journey, you should consider the presence of God and not just your path. That God can help you through wherever you're at in any situation.
[26:27] He can take you on your journey with joy and with gladness. And he gives them the land and the labor of the people that had been provided for them.
[26:38] He said that they inherited the labor of the people. They gave them the lands of the heathen and inherited the labor of the people. Isn't that incredible? My friend out in California, price of buildings went up, and he wanted to build their churches filled with Romanian people, Ukrainian people.
[26:55] During COVID, his church almost doubled. They were meeting out in a field, and it's a wonderful story. And they're not in a place to build. But you know what? A Mormon church has now decided to close, and my friend is now moving into this Mormon ward.
[27:11] And I wrote, and I said, it was so nice of them to build you guys a building. And he said, bless their hearts. He's from Kentucky, all right? Maybe in California, but he still talks like us, right? And so he's just walking through this building that was more than they could imagine that they were ever going to build.
[27:24] It gives plenty of opportunities for the people to have it, and that God gave that over to them. God provided for them the right of conquest that freely inherited from the Canaanite cities, vineyards, orchards, cisterns, and all kinds of material benefits.
[27:41] God gave to them. That he just gave it to them. I have to remember all God had done on behalf. I just, God just gave that to them. You know, there's things that you have in life that you just say, well, I earned this, but you didn't.
[27:55] God gave it to you. But there's just other things that you have in life, and you just say, I didn't earn this. I didn't work for this. The God of heaven just gave this to me. Why do I get to have this?
[28:06] Why was I born where I was born? Why was I given the opportunity that I was given? God just gave that to them. And all of you in here, you have so much that was just given to you. All the things that you think you work for, I remind you, he gave those to you as well.
[28:18] But there's things that you're not even pretending that you earned. He just gave to you. So after remembering all God had done on behalf of the people, a reasonable question would be, why?
[28:29] Why, God? Why would you do all this? Why would you care about your people in Israel? Why would you do all this? Why would you concern yourself with a small people? Verse 45, that he might observe his statutes and keep his laws.
[28:44] Praise ye the Lord. That they might observe his statutes and keep his laws. Praise ye the Lord. That's the word hallelujah that we use. Praise ye the Lord.
[28:55] So just like the previous psalm, this word ends in Hebrew with hallelujah. He is as right and worthy for God's people to remember his marvelous works and to praise him for all he has done.
[29:08] In history, you ought to see God's faithfulness. From the very beginning of creation, all the way through the Old Testament, all the way from the New Testament. And then when it ends, and then all that you would know about human history.
[29:20] And then when you were born, there's never a time you can look back through history and say, our God was anything but faithful. And we should praise him for it. And we should share these wonderful deeds with other people.
[29:31] So here we are.
