[0:00] Take your Bibles if you want to go with me to Isaiah. I am so blessed that I get to work with you and be here in this church and see what God's doing. And then to, I don't know, I just love watching all of you serve God.
[0:13] What a privilege to serve God with you. Isaiah chapter 9. I'm going to talk to you some technical stuff. Tad nervous about talking to you about it tonight. You do know, I'm sure you know.
[0:24] I know the ones that have said their Bible a lot know. So we are not anywhere near the end of the world. So if anybody ever tells you that the world's about to end, well, that's ridiculous.
[0:35] There's at least a thousand-year period that's still going to happen out somewhere in the future. And so in the New Testament, it's only alluded to.
[0:47] In the Old Testament, it is clearly taught, ridiculously clear how much God's going to do when he sets up this 1,000-year reign.
[0:59] So hold your finger there in the book of Isaiah, if you would, and flip with me to Revelation chapter 20. And just let me show you these verses right quick. And this is how I know it's 1,000 years, and you can mark it down.
[1:10] It's right there in the book of Revelation. And there's other verses, but just this tonight. And so when you get to Isaiah chapter 9, you're not going to understand what's happening if you don't understand. Jesus is going to literally return to the planet.
[1:25] Physically, bodily, he arose. He's the Son of God in his body. He's going to return to this earth. When he does, his feet are going to touch the amount of olives. It's going to split in two.
[1:36] You say, I think that sounds like a cartoon. Cartoons might have learned it from the real thing, but God's going to do it. But it's what Jesus said. It's not a big deal for his feet to split a mountain when his voice can build a whole earth and world and plants and everything in six days.
[1:49] He can do anything he wants to do. He's God. He's above it all. And so he is going to return to this earth. And when he returns to this earth, it will be after a tribulation period that God will have shaken the earth and awakened everyone who was lost and rebellious.
[2:06] It's not us. We will have been carried out in a rapture, a snatching away, and we'll be in heaven. And then there will be a seven-year period of tribulation and great tribulation. And Jesus will return, and he will set up a literal kingdom on earth.
[2:19] And it's a literal kingdom because the Bible just, there's only one way to interpret it. You've either got to act like none of it's true, or you're going to have to say, well, it must be real. And so he's going to set up this kingdom, and you're going to hear about that.
[2:31] In fact, these verses you use for Christmas, actually, the ones I'm going to read you tonight, aren't as much for Christmas as they are for the next time he comes back. And you'll see that clearly tonight. But look, if you would, in Revelation chapter 20 and verse 2.
[2:44] Right here, just four times, real quickly, underline the word thousand years. Revelation chapter 20, verse 2. He laid hold onto the dragon, that old serpent, which is the devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years.
[2:56] Now, ever since the Garden of Eden, this old guy's been causing all kind of problems. Him and a whole legion of other people have been causing all kind of problems in an all-out war. And you could easily blame the devil for messing up. So God's going to bind him for a thousand years, and then people are still going to mess up.
[3:10] Because human beings always mess up. They always need grace. They always need God and what he did. Verse 3. They cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should not deceive the nations no more till the thousand years should be fulfilled.
[3:27] And after that, he must be loosed a little season. That's the second thousand years. Skip down to verse 4, the last part of the verse, just for the sake of time. They lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
[3:40] And in verse 7, when the thousand years expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison. There's a thousand-year period coming. Jesus will literally rule and reign.
[3:51] In what you call the Lord's Prayer, which is really the model prayer, the Bible says, Our Father who is shard in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. That's what it's talking about. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
[4:03] That's what it's talking about. And so we're praying for his kingdom to be set up. Now go with me to Isaiah chapter 9 and verse 6. I have 17 pages of notes, which is mostly Bible, but I'm going to fly through it with you tonight, if you will.
[4:16] The Bible says, For unto us a child is born. That's a baby Jesus. That is being born in Bethlehem. That is his human side.
[4:27] A son is given. The Son of God. His deity. He is eternal. And then it says, And the government shall be upon his shoulder. Now when you hear this quoted at Christmas, and you're going to know this is something you quote at Christmas, you might not even figure out what in the world's government got to do with Christmas.
[4:43] Not much. Government's got to do with the next time he comes back. The first time he came, he came to die. The first time he came, he came to pay the sin debt of the world. The next time he comes, he's going to set up a government.
[4:55] Underline that. His government shall be upon his shoulder. And his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.
[5:08] So you've heard all your life. Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. That's really talking about his character and who he is. And the next verse is what's going to really make it clear that we're talking about that thousand-year reign.
[5:22] I'm going to try to go through this tonight, but I'm going to skip around in my notes, whatever I've got to do to get finished. But I just want you to know that you need to underline in this verse, Mighty God. And I will prove to you in a minute we are talking about Jesus.
[5:34] I will prove it to you from the passage of Scripture. I'll prove it to you from other parts of the Bible that collaborate that that's about Jesus. His name is Wonderful, Counselor, but it ought to jump off the page, Mighty God.
[5:45] Jesus is God. You need to say amen right there. You need to understand that Jesus is God. That's a central belief that we have. We believe that God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten son.
[5:59] And that son died on a cross that we could have everlasting life. He doesn't want any of us to perish. He wants us to go to heaven. The Mighty God. The Bible says in 2 Corinthians chapter 5 that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself.
[6:14] Then it's going to say everlasting Father. Jesus is everlasting. And I'll explain to you, Father, in just a minute, I think you'll understand that. He is the Father of all of us that believe. He is the Father of salvation.
[6:25] He's the one, the author of salvation. And then he is the Prince of Peace. That's an amazing term for him. And you'll understand there's no peace and hasn't been peace.
[6:36] And there's not going to be peace until the Prince of Peace shows up to make peace. And the Prince of Peace is Jesus. Now look at verse 7. Of the increase of his government. There we go with that word again.
[6:48] See, he's going to set up a thousand year government. A thousand year kingdom. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end. And upon the throne of David.
[6:58] He's a king. And it's upon his kingdom. Thy kingdom come. The increase of his government and his peace. The throne of David upon his kingdom. To order it. To establish it with judgment. With justice from henceforth.
[7:08] Even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform it. So we're talking about the millennial kingdom. The thousand year reign of Jesus Christ. In Isaiah chapter 9.
[7:19] You're probably thinking, what has this got to do with me? Well, number one thing it's got to do with you. You need to know who Jesus is. And when you understand who Jesus is, you understand how he can save you. He's not a normal person.
[7:30] He is God in human flesh. He is wonderful. Counselor, mighty God, everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. This millennial period is a thousand years. There's three major positions that people take in the world.
[7:43] So if you ever start studying among people that say the Bible, there are people that used to believe what's called post-millennial. And what that meant was after the thousand years, Jesus will come back.
[7:53] They thought the world would keep getting better and better and better until it was so much like heaven, Jesus had just come on down here with us. We just got her all straightened out and got it all worked out and Jesus had show up.
[8:05] Then we had World War I. And I was like, well, it ain't doing too good. Peace ain't coming. Things ain't working out. Then we had World War II. And they was like, oh boy, things are really not working out too good. It seems to not be getting better because things had been getting better in the roaring 20s.
[8:18] Now they're not getting better. And we've had war ever since. So very few people really are post-millennial. There's another group of people called amillennialists. And they don't believe that Jesus is going to come and set up a kingdom.
[8:29] They believe that most everything is kind of spiritualized. So they think that the nation of Israel really speaks about the church. They think that Jesus will never really come back to the kingdom.
[8:40] I went to school with some that even said when Jesus arose from the dead, he didn't literally rise from the dead. It was kind of like, you know, we could feel like that, like when the wind blew against our face. We could think he was kissing us and feeling.
[8:51] That's all a bunch of hogwash. He really did rise from the dead. Amillennial means no millennium, that there's not ever going to happen that. And then there's a group of us, people like me, we are pre-millennial.
[9:02] We believe that the Bible does teach that Jesus will set up an earthly kingdom. You can't, Sam Wilson's so good at this. You can talk to him about it. But anyway, he read one book.
[9:12] And the guy said in the book, he said, I don't believe you this. He said, but if you was going to take the Bible literally, you'd have to believe in a thousand-year thing. And so since I take the Bible literally, I had to believe in that thousand-year thing. And so the pre-millennial is that Jesus will come back.
[9:25] He'll take us out of here. He will come back after he's, after that, after he's taken us out, he'll come back and he'll set up a kingdom. The world's going to keep messing up and getting worse. Even Christianity is going to have problems.
[9:38] People are going to pull away from real Bible-believing churches. People are going to pull away from things, and things are going to get worse and worse. First, that's what the Jesus says, that's what's going to happen here. Now go with me to Isaiah chapter 9 and verse 2 if you would.
[9:49] I want to show you the chapter speaks about Jesus. Isaiah chapter 9 verse 2. Whenever you read a verse in the Old Testament, and then the New Testament tells you something about that verse, then you can pretty well know that if a New Testament people told you that the Old Testament people were talking about Jesus, you're on real good ground.
[10:05] Now if I tell you that a verse is talking about Jesus, you might get saying, I ain't too sure about that, Austin. You're not all that smart. But when I tell you God said it and wrote it in his Bible, you don't have any choice.
[10:15] So look at Isaiah chapter 9 and verse 2. The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light. They that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined.
[10:27] Both comings are going to be mentioned here in Isaiah chapter 9. Again, this verse right here in verse 2 tells me we're talking about Jesus. How do I know that? You need to mark in your Bible, right beside 9 to write Matthew 4.13.
[10:41] Write Matthew chapter 4 verse 13. And listen to what the Bible says in Matthew 4.13. I left out verse 1 for the sake of time. But in 4.13, he just quotes him. And in verse 13, verse 14 says, That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet.
[10:56] He said, All right, what's happening right here with Jesus is so what Isaiah said would be true. And then he says, The land of Zebulun and the land of Nethalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan and Galilee of the Gentiles.
[11:09] Verse 16, The people which sat in darkness saw great light. And to them which sat in the region and shadow of death, light has sprung up from that time Jesus. Guess who Matthew said that verse was about?
[11:23] He said it's about Jesus. Now, I now know that I'm reading Isaiah chapter 9. And old Isaiah might not even fully understand what's happening. But by the time we get to the New Testament, the Holy Spirit says, Matthew, write it down.
[11:35] I was talking about Jesus. I need it clear. I'm talking about Jesus. In his second coming, in his second coming, government will be on his shoulders. Look at Isaiah chapter 9 and verse 2.
[11:47] Of the increase of his government and peace, there shall be no end. I showed you that just a second ago. I just want you to understand this. Now, listen here. He came that first time. And he was born in a manger.
[11:59] He lived among people. He waited 30 years before he brought out his ministry. He came knowing he was going to die. He had full intentions of going to the cross to die. He came to die.
[12:11] But the next time he comes, he's coming in great power and in great glory. And every eye will see him. And then his feet will touch the Mount of Olives. The earth will split.
[12:22] And he will set up a kingdom. And government will be on his shoulders. It won't be President Trump. It won't be President Obama. It won't be whoever the next president is. When that happens, it will be King Jesus sitting on the throne of David.
[12:37] And all through the Old Testament, they fully expected that to happen. Jesus would be coming back. And Jesus would be taking them to heaven. It will go down a few, excuse me, take it over the leadership of the kingdom.
[12:49] And then heaven will come for us. Look at Isaiah chapter 9 and verse 16. Wicked leaders cause God's people to do wrong. They need good leadership. They've had lousy kings.
[13:02] They've had lousy leaders that caused them to do wrong. Look at Isaiah chapter 9 and verse 16. The leaders of this people cause them to err. And they that are led of them are destroyed.
[13:14] So if you've got bad leadership, you're going to be in a bad shape. If you've got bad leadership, you're going to be in a bad way. If you have bad leaders, and that's what Israel and Judah had had, mostly bad kings.
[13:27] Kings who didn't love God. Kings who didn't follow God's will. Kings that weren't honoring God. And they are destroyed. They're going to be carried away into captivity for 70 years. When our leaders don't follow God and don't teach us to follow God, they lead us into sin.
[13:44] When we are in sin, we're destroyed by the consequences of sin. So everybody in the room, though this is Isaiah, I know this is Isaiah chapter 9, and though it's talking about Jesus coming to leader, you know, we still follow leaders.
[13:57] You follow leaders in a church. You follow leadership of your husband. Lord willing, you should. Should I preach on that? You follow political leaders. You follow people all the time.
[14:08] You ought to never follow anybody until you check what the word of God says. You want to be sure that you are followed. You're following a leader that can be trusted, a leader that can lead us.
[14:20] And every leader ought to be somebody full of the Holy Spirit trying to serve him and honor him. So now in Isaiah chapter 9 and verse 6, we're going to get a description of the great leader.
[14:31] All leaders have failed. All leaders all through the Bible have failed. But there's coming a day when God sends a great leader, and his name's Jesus in our vocabulary. We understand that.
[14:41] That's not stated here. But look with me, if you would, in Isaiah chapter 9 and verse 6. And he is going to give us what he's called, and it's going to reveal his character, who he is, what he's about.
[14:52] Look in Isaiah chapter 9 and verse 6. I want you to underline his name, and I want you to underline the word called. This is what we're going to call him. We're going to call him this because these are characteristics about him.
[15:02] We're going to learn how Jesus is. We're going to learn about this coming leader and what he's like. And he is first called wonderful. Now, you know, you could use wonderful in a thousand ways, and I'm going to skip.
[15:15] If you've got my notes, you can just look at them later and see what I studied and what I learned. But just let me tell you this. We could say wonderful any number of ways we want to say. The word wonderful really comes from the same word as a miracle.
[15:26] You know that because in your Bible it constantly says he did signs and wonders. Same word, signs and wonders. In other words, miracles. Everything about Jesus is a wonder.
[15:39] Everything about Jesus is a sign. Everything about Jesus is a miracle. How in the world do you get a man to become, to be born, a God to be born a man?
[15:49] How in the world do you have a woman who have a baby without ever having sexual relations? How does that happen? His name is wonderful. John chapter 1 and verse 14.
[15:59] And I just wish some of these verses I really feel like you need to know. And, you know, I wish I want to preach all the time emotional messages that keep you excited and happy and liking me and liking. But you need to learn some stuff. So you need to learn some stuff.
[16:11] Here's one of the things you need to learn. Jesus is God. Now look at John chapter 1 and verse 14. John chapter 1 and verse 14. He's a wonder. He's wonderful. He's a miracle.
[16:22] It's a picture of how great he is. The Bible says in John 1, 14, And the word was made flesh and dwelt among us. And we beheld his glory. The glory is of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
[16:35] So what happened was God took on human flesh. Now how'd that happen? I don't know. That's a wonder. I don't know. That's beyond human comprehension.
[16:46] How in the world did Mary get pregnant without a man? It's a wonder. God did it. Look in John 1, 1. You know all this, but I'm going to remind you. In John chapter 1 and verse 1, In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God.
[17:00] So in John 1, 14, when it says, And the word became flesh, I now know who became flesh. In the beginning was the word. The word was with God. The word was what? The word was God.
[17:10] And so in John 1, 14, And the word, God, became flesh. By the way, here's a wonderful thing about him. I'm going to have to run on and leave this, But here's a wonderful thing. He made everything.
[17:21] The guy that you might think of as a little baby in Bethlehem created everything. And that's clear as day. In John chapter 1 and verse 3, look at it. All things were made by him, And without him was anything made that was made.
[17:33] So here's a baby you think you respected at Christmas, And the Bible's real clear. He was in the beginning with God. Long before there was ever Adam and Eve. Long before there was the Garden of Eden.
[17:44] Long before any of that happened, he was already there. And he was God. So he is God all the way back. No beginning. No end. No father.
[17:55] No mother. He's God. He's nothing like us. He's nothing like us. I got a beginning. I got an end. Hey, I'm weak. I can't do things. He's God. By the way, the Bible's clear.
[18:07] In Philippians chapter 2 and verse 6, He was in the form of God and thought it not robbery to be equal with God. We need to know Jesus is God.
[18:18] We need to know Jesus is God. You ought to know what you are believing and you believe that Jesus is God. In Isaiah chapter 9 and verse 6, He's also, His name shall be called Counselor.
[18:32] He's called Wonderful. His name is called Counselor also. As Counselor, He has the wisdom to rule. He has the wisdom to be who He is. He's been from the beginning. There is never a question does He know what to do.
[18:45] There is never a question does He know how to do right. There's never a question does He understand. His very name is, yeah, I'm smart enough to be the counselor. I am smart enough to make the decisions.
[18:57] I know what I am doing. That's where our buddy's verse came in tonight. Tyler preached on coming to me, all you that labor. Anybody else that would say that besides God would just be a joke, wouldn't it?
[19:08] Can you imagine Tyler coming up here and saying, hey, y'all, come on up to me. All you that labor and are heavy laden, I'll give you rest. Take my burden on you. That'd be what a joke. But when Jesus said it, it was okay.
[19:19] He's the counselor. He is God in human flesh and He can say that. He knows all about you. He knows what you need. He knows what's best for you. He'll never mislead you.
[19:31] He's our counselor. But not only is He our counselor, He is our mighty God. Look, if you would, in Isaiah chapter 9 and verse 6, and His name shall be called Mighty God. Again, He's God.
[19:44] He's God. I don't know how to, you know, the Jehovah's Witnesses, even in their Bible, it says in the beginning was the Word and the Word was a God. No, Jesus never was a God. He is the God.
[19:55] He's never, He's not one, He's not one particle less than God. He is an equal power, being, person, substance. He is God. I'll give you a Bible verse for that.
[20:06] How about 1 John chapter 5 and verse 20? Can I write that down somewhere? 1 John 5, 20. The Bible says that we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding that we may know Him that is true.
[20:18] And we are in Him that is true. Even so, in His Son, Jesus Christ. This is the true God. This is the true God. Jesus, the true God.
[20:29] In Matthew chapter 1 and verse 23, when they named Him, they said, call Him Emmanuel. That's Isaiah chapter 7, remember? He said, call Him Emmanuel, God with us.
[20:42] In Colossians chapter 2 and verse 9, all of the Godhead in Him bodily. All of the Godhead in Him. He is all God. God. How in the world can you people say you trust Jesus to be your Savior?
[20:55] Well, it's not that hard when you know who He is. It's not that hard when you know He is God that He can do all that for you. 1 Timothy chapter 3 and verse 16, the Bible says, And without controversy, there's no discussing this.
[21:11] Great is the mystery of God, of godliness. God was manifested in the flesh. You should underline that. God was manifested in the flesh.
[21:21] Jesus is almighty God. He is almighty. In Revelation chapter 1 and verse 8, He said, I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, and says the Lord, which is, which was, which is to come.
[21:33] The almighty. There's not a great big God up in heaven. And thank God there's a little weak Jesus, but He can sweet talk God into saving me. Jesus is God.
[21:44] Jesus is God. God is Jesus. We get to a little problem there next. Look at Isaiah chapter 9 and verse 6. Here's a confusing term. In Isaiah chapter 9 and verse 6, His name shall be called Everlasting Father.
[21:58] His name shall be called Everlasting Father. Well, He's everlasting. We can get that straight. He was born physically in time, but He was before time. He made time.
[22:09] He made where He would be born, and He made people that would bring Him into the earth. And the term Father here doesn't mean that He is God the Father. It's not like Jesus and God are the same person, and they just show up differently, because all three show up at the same time in the Bible.
[22:24] There are three distinct persons. You remember when Jesus got baptized? When Jesus is getting baptized, God speaks from heaven. The Holy Spirit descends like a dove, and Jesus is there. That's all three in the same place.
[22:36] There's three. That's what we call the Trinity. Not in the Bible. The term's not in the Bible, but that's what's going on. Jesus is God, but He is not God the Father. Jesus is being called the everlasting Father, because the word Father often is used.
[22:49] Father Abraham, the guy who invented the brass, was the father of all those who worked with brass. That doesn't mean, it just means He's the number one. He's the first one. Here's the best way I know to describe it.
[23:00] I want you to look in your Bibles at 1 Corinthians 15, 45. In the Bible, you have what are called federal heads, what we call, when we study the Bible, federal heads, or like a father, like the number one.
[23:10] And in the Bible, there are two Adams. There's the first Adam and the last Adam. The first Adam and the second Adam. Look at 1 Corinthians 15, 45.
[23:21] I told you it was going to be a tad technical tonight, but you've got to learn some stuff. You can't always suck on cotton candy. Say amen right there. That's why we go through the whole Bible, so we get a lot of stuff. You went to a regular church, we'd still be talking about getting you out of your britches.
[23:34] But anyway, 1 Corinthians 15. You should have laughed, but you didn't. 1 Corinthians 15, 45. And so it is written, the first man, Adam, was made a living soul.
[23:47] Now, I want you to look and listen here. I've got eight minutes. I've got too much to tell you. You see, all of us humans descend from one guy. He's our father, Adam. And if you're a human with a body, you came from Adam.
[24:02] He's the first Adam, the living soul. And every human being comes out of Adam's loins, out of Adam's descendants. He's the father of us. Look at this. And in verse 45, it says, the first man, Adam, was made a living soul.
[24:15] The last Adam, underline that, the last Adam was made a quickening spirit. Somebody who raises dead. Who quickens death. Who brings to life. Who gives real life.
[24:26] Everybody in Adam died. But everybody in Jesus lives. Look at verse 46. Look at verse 46. How be it that which was first was not first, which is spiritual, but that which is natural.
[24:40] What came first? Look this way. What came first? Natural. Adam. Physical. Earthy. A man. That's first. Look at your Bible. And afterward, that which is spiritual.
[24:51] That's Jesus. You had to be born to get into that guy. You've got to be born again to get into this guy. You've got to be born a human to be a human. You've got to be born again to be spiritual and go to heaven. And it's all being in Jesus.
[25:02] Look at verse Corinthians 15, 47. The first man is of the earth. Earthy. The second man is the Lord from heaven. See, that's how he's a father.
[25:14] He's our, he's a head of our whole race. Adam's the head of my human race. And that's who I used to be. But on May the 6th, 1962, I trusted Christ. I went in, I was placed in Christ. And he's the head now.
[25:25] He's the father now. He, I'm in, I'm in the second Adam. Look, if you went in first, first Corinthians 15, 48. As the earthy, such are they that are earthy.
[25:36] So you know what? If you're a human, you're like a human. That's all that means. It's like, if you were born a human, you're going to act like a human. Which is like Adam. Which is like the guy that sinned. Which is like the guy that's going to die.
[25:48] Which is like the guy that's going to go to hell, by the way. If you're born in Adam, that's where you're headed. And then it says in verse 48, as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
[25:59] So you know what happened? When I was born into Adam, I was born to die. But when I was born into Jesus, I was born for heaven. I was born to be in him. Now keep reading. Look what it says. First Corinthians chapter 15 and verse 49.
[26:11] We bore the image of the earthy. We shall also bear the image of the heavenly. So you know what? I look a lot like a human. I mean, I didn't say a good looking one, but I look like a human.
[26:22] And I get that because of my daddy Adam. But you know what? I'm in Christ. I got another image. I'm in Christ. I still wear the earthy stuff I got from my earthly dad, but I'm a new creature.
[26:33] Old things are passed away. Behold, all things have become new. I'm not like a guy who doesn't know Jesus. I might look down. You might see me walking down the street. You might not be able to recognize, but I am nothing like other people.
[26:43] You are nothing like other people. You've got eternity in heaven for your home. You are spiritual and you are heavenly because of Jesus and what happened. He's the everlasting father.
[26:55] Isaiah chapter nine and verse six, five minutes. He's the prince of peace. His name shall be called the prince of peace. And until he comes, there is no peace. The Bible says in Matthew 24, six, there are wars and rumors of wars.
[27:11] That's what's going to happen. The whole world is a flop and a failure. All through history, man has messed up everything he has ever touched. When they had God, when they had what we call a theocracy, when God was leading the nation of Israel, you couldn't have got a better leader.
[27:28] You had God as your leader. They messed up. When they had, when they had a government and they got a great king named David, they messed up. And, and, and nowadays we're alive in the most wonderful time in history.
[27:42] And let's just be honest. We're messing up. We can't quit fighting. We can't be in, quit being greedy. But there is coming a day when the prince of peace will show up and he'll establish peace.
[27:53] And he'll say, that's it. Settle down. I got her under control. I am the prince of peace. By the way, he is your peace. In Ephesians chapter two and verse 13, it says, but now in Christ Jesus, you who were sometime far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
[28:09] He is our peace. I need to explain something to you. You know how you're going to go to heaven. You need to understand something. You're going to go to heaven because you're in Christ. You're in Jesus. And you can underline that in Ephesians chapter two and verse 13.
[28:20] The secret to your success is not you. It is not the church. It's not your baptism. It's not stuff you're doing. In Adam, you are going to die. And in Jesus, you're going to live. In Adam, you're a sinner. And in Jesus, you're a new creature.
[28:31] In Jesus, we have tons of promises. And it's really only because we're in Jesus. It's him, not me, who gets that done. In Romans chapter five and verse eight, it says, therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God.
[28:45] How? Through our Lord Jesus Christ. You know how you get things right with God? You know why you and I have a clear conscience between us and God? Jesus. Jesus.
[28:56] It's through Jesus. And we have access by faith into this grace. And it's all through Jesus. In Philippians chapter four and verse seven, we have the peace of God, which passes all understanding.
[29:09] You can know that things are right with God, but you can not only have what's right this way, you can have what's right here. You don't have to have all this junk going on in your life where you got to be taking pills and running to counselors where you're worried and scared to death about everything.
[29:24] You can let God work in your life. The Bible says in Colossians 3.15, let the peace of God rule in your hearts. You and I need to realize, boy, he's God.
[29:36] And he fixed it this way, but he fixed it here too. Boy, you ought to be afraid. You say, well, what's going to happen? What's going to go on? It's a world going to fall apart. I don't care. I'm in Jesus. And I'm going to be fine.
[29:49] And they will eventually be through Jesus' world national peace. In Micah chapter four and verse three. And a verse similar to this is on the wall of the United Nations.
[30:02] And he shall judge among many people and rebuke strong nations. And far off, they shall beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nations shall not lift up a sword against nation. Neither shall they learn war anymore.
[30:15] You know when that's going to happen, don't you? Only when the prince of peace shows up. How in the world are you going to get these presidents to lay down all their guns? How in the world are you going to get all these countries to quit bluffing each other, fighting with each other, wanting to do stuff?
[30:27] The prince of peace. I need you to understand. In Isaiah chapter nine and verse seven. One minute. Isaiah chapter nine and verse seven. Look at it. The increase of his government. You need to understand Jesus is going to come to the world and rule.
[30:40] And this millennial kingdom is like the wildest. Hang on. Isaiah is going to rock your world, change your life, because you're going to believe and understand things you've never had an idea about.
[30:51] But look if you would at Isaiah chapter 11 and verse six. You're all the way over here in Isaiah chapter nine. I jump all the way over to Isaiah chapter 11. This is coming up soon. Look what the Bible says.
[31:01] This is that millennial kingdom. The Bible says, The wolf will dwell with the lamb. The leopard will lay down with the baby goat. The calf and the young lion and the fatted calf and the little child will lead them around.
[31:15] And a cow and a bear will eat together. And the young ones will lay down together with the cow's kid. The calf and the little bear will lay down together. And a lion will eat straw like an ox.
[31:26] And a kid who's still not weaned will play on the hole of snakes and wasp and everything else. And they won't get hurt. And the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord.
[31:38] Jesus is coming. And he is going to set up a kingdom like you have never believed. Now, you and I won't be here for that. We'll be here. Well, we'll be here. But we'll get to that in another way. We won't be here on this earth like that.
[31:50] When that happens, we will come back in a whole different thing. We'll talk about that later. I just want you to know something. Jesus is God. And not only is he God, he has everything under control.
[32:00] And you do not have to wonder about what's going to happen. Some of you, man, you turn on the news and you just get all tore up about everything. You don't need to. You don't have to worry about it. When the whole world is falling apart, I know in whom I have believed.
[32:15] And I can trust him. I can trust him for my life here. And I can trust him for what's going to happen in the future. I can trust him when it comes time to die. I can trust him. He's the God of the universe. He is my Savior and my Lord.
[32:28] He is my Father. And I am in Christ. Are you in Christ? Do you know for a fact that you've been born again? Do you know for a fact that you're no longer the earthy, but you are now the heavenly?
[32:40] You're no longer the people that are dying and going to hell, but you're part of the heavenly? Do you know that? If you don't, you need to. You need to. And then you need to. Look, you guys, you're going to have to stop thinking so much about this earth junk.
[32:52] Earthy people think earthy junk. Earthy people think earthy junk. And heavenly people think heavenly stuff. Can I get an amen right there? So maybe this week in missions conference, get your mind off the earthy.
[33:06] Get your mind on the heavenly. Let's carry the gospel to the world. Let's carry the gospel.
