We are but the Creation!

[0:00] this message was recorded at vision baptist church in alfred georgia it is our prayer that you'll be blessed by the preaching of god's word take your bibles if you want to open them to the first book of the bible the first chapter and the first verse and you've been there long enough i'm sure we're going to finish the first chapter lord willing tonight genesis chapter one and we'll finish this chapter and uh as we're going to read the whole chapter it's what our god did he is great he is wonderful he created the world he is the eternal god he was here before anything else was uh the god the father god the son and god the holy spirit were all working and creating uh the world and all these wonderful things that you've already seen with me now as we read it i hope you got your bible open it shouldn't be hard to find it everybody got your bible open genesis chapter one verse one can't find it just go past the index page get past the first few pages and you'll get to the book of beginnings what tells us how god started everything there was a eternity past and god was there and then god started everything we know as human beings as we go through this i just want to challenge you i'm going to read it to you i'll try to read it with emphasis it is a long chapter but it is well worth reading in the bible they even read the bible for a fourth part of the day and then they talked about it for a fourth part of the day so if you can imagine three hours of bible reading this will only take a couple three minutes but i want you to read with me as you read it i wish you'd watch for these words maybe you could underline them created he did create the world say amen right there we believe in a creation the bible teaches that god created the world anything else is demeaning and degrading you are not some slime that evolved up to where you are you are god made you are god made you are god made in fact as every animal is god made but you are specially made in the very image of our god i wish you'd watch for words like god said why don't you watch for that he spoke it into existence our god made the entire world he spoke it into existence i'll watch for called as you read through it watch for made as you read through this with me read in your bibles genesis chapter 1 and verse 1 the bible says in the beginning god created the heaven and the earth and the earth was without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep and the spirit of god moved upon the face of the waters and god said let there be light and there was light god saw the light that it was good and god divided the light from the darkness and god called the light day and the darkness he called night and the evening and the morning were the first day and god said let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters and let it divide the waters from the waters and god made the firmament and divided the waters which are under the firmament from the waters which are above the firmament and it was so and god called the firmament heaven and the evening and the morning were the second day and god said let the waters under the heaven be gathered together under one place and let the dry land appear and it was so amazing god says it and it happens it's so and god called the dry land earth and the gathering together the waters called he sees and god saw that it was good and god said let the earth bring forth grass the herb yielding seed and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind whose seed is in itself upon the earth and it was so and the earth brought forth grass and herb yielding seed after his kind and the tree yielding fruit whose seed was in itself after his kind and god saw that it was good and the evening and the morning were the third day and god said let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and for years and let them be for lights in the firmament of the

[4:00] heavens to give light upon the earth and it was so and god made two great lights the greater light to rule the day and the lesser right to rule the night he made the stars also and god set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth and to rule over the day and over the night and to divide the light from the darkness and god saw that it was good and the evening and the morning were the fourth day and god said uh god said let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life and fowl that may fly above the earth and the open firmament of the heaven and god created great white whales and every living creature that moveth which the waters brought forth abundantly after their kind and every winged fowl after his kind and god saw that it was good and god blessed saying be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas and let the fowl multiply in the earth and the evening and the morning were the fifth day and god said let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind cattle and creeping thing beasts of the earth after his kind and it was so and god made the beasts of the earth after his kind the cattle after their kind and everything that creepeth upon the earth after his kind and god saw that it was good and god said let us make man and our image after our likeness and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea over the fowl of the air over the cattle over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth so god created man in his own image in the image of god created he him male and female created he them and god blessed them and god said unto them be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea over the fowl of the air and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth and god said behold i have given you every herb bearing seed which is upon the face of all the earth and every tree in which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed to you it shall be for meat and to every beast of the field and every file of the air and everything that creepeth upon the earth wherein there is life i've given every green herb for meat and it was so and god saw everything that he had made and behold it was very good and behold it was very good and the evening and the morning were the sixth day our father in heaven i love you and i thank you so very much for your word god i pray tonight that as i walk through this chapter little by little with them that your people will rejoice in you and how great you are and how wonderful you are and how you're a creator god and how you made the universe and none of this is an accident and all of this is on purpose and you have a purpose for our lives i pray god that your people would magnify you and worship you i pray god that we would leave here with fear reverence and all in our hearts it's such a wonderful magnificent god as you are thank you for all you've done thank you for who you are and thank you for even being kind enough to tell us where we come from and what you did and how you made us and help us to worship you and i will give you great honor and glory and praise in jesus precious name amen genesis chapter one we just read it i hope you've read it a lot of times and i hope you understand it i think you ought to be able to just say this amen god created the earth and it's as clear as day if you read it here he created the earth i don't know how many times you mark in your bible i will mention it to you in a minute but he created he created he created i love this he said and it happened he said and it happened he said and it happened he made it happen and i've already gone over this with you and i am not about to talk science with you and i do not think that i have an answers in genesis guy and i don't think i am capable or qualified to do all of that but i can tell you a few things this is the word of god i can tell you

[8:05] that this is the word of god god spoke here god told us what happened and i believe that and i would like to challenge you to be a real bible believer i would like to challenge you to be a bible believer and to realize that god said exactly what he meant so if you want to write down some things number one six days he created the earth in six days he created the earth in six days now that goes against everything you've ever been taught and you've uh even heard christians come up with all sorts of ways to figure out how it didn't take six days they say god didn't mean days here that they god meant ages here and each day could have been a thousand years or a million years or a billion years but god said days and he's a real smart god he knows how to say the word age when he wants to he knows how to say the word thousand when he wants to he knows how to say tens of thousands when he wants to so i'm going to take him at his word go with me to verse five if you would god uses the same expression to define the time periods in this thing every time he uses the same one whether there's a sun or a moon or not whether there are stars or not he uses the exact same phrase in verse five he said and god called the light day and the darkness he called night and the evening and the morning were the first day i don't know what you think about that but i'm just going to tell you what i think about that you see there was no day and there was no night and there was none of this and god said i'm going to do this and he said i make light and i call it day and i make darkness and i call it night and he said that's it days over and it was an evening and a morning which is a wild expression an evening and a morning and that was the first day each time period had clearly defined boundaries in genesis chapter one every time period has clearly defined boundaries he uses the same expression to describe every day including those before he had made the sun every time he uses the by every time in the bible he uses the word with a day with a number anywhere else in the bible it always refers to a solar day or 24 hours so i'm going to tell you that god created the heaven and the earth over a six day period and he rested on the seventh you say what do you mean by that i mean 168 hours minus 24 i mean he started he did it he finished he said six days he meant six days now you have foolish questions that you would ask me that some atheist gave you so i want to just say a couple things about that so you would say well why did he need to rest and why did he need a full day he didn't need a day to do any of it he could have created it all in a split second all he had to do was say boom it's done and it would have been done because he's god and could i just stop here and say that if he can't make a world in six days how can he raise dead people how can he build a heaven and how can he the rest of it be true those of you who doubt that he created the world in six days and you want to fit science into your bible and try to say well the scientist told me so i know god's mistaken here and i know this is an old book and he made a lot of mistakes and and you want to feel you want the college students to be comfortable with you i don't want the college students to be comfortable with what the bible says excuse me i want i don't want to make the bible comfortable so they can accept it i want them to get comfortable and just do what it says i'm not about fixing the bible for you i'm about you fixing you for the book say man it's a whole different philosophy and a whole different attitude he didn't need a day to do it he could have done it all in a split second and he certainly didn't need to rest by the way somebody said why did he create the world have to have a day of rest you know most of the days when he's creating he just says bam and it's done so it really wasn't a big deal not for him he's teaching you a letter a lesson he's given us a pattern or a cycle of work and rest and he's setting the stage for everything else that's going

[12:06] to be in the bible remember that god is the eternal day and night and time simply is something for us he has always existed before there was a sun and a moon and stars he was already here he didn't need a sun to come up every day to make his days he was around a gazillion bazillion years ago and he didn't have any of that he did that for us second peter chapter 3 and verse 8 second peter chapter 3 and verse 8 the bible says but beloved be not ignorant of this one thing that one day is with the lord is a thousand years and a thousand years as one day you know god's making a little comparison so you'll understand you the biggest problem is with the creation can i would you would you let me i'll just tell you my heart the biggest problem is you see you too big and him too little the biggest problem is you see you too big and him too little you are a flea on a planet compared to him you and i don't count we don't measure up we don't make a difference and here's what he said you know how how many of you there's some flies been in the church here lately have y'all noticed the flies if you've noticed the flies say oh me i don't know what in the world's going on with these flies and here makes me think of peru when i used to be in peru i'd be preaching and sometimes you know that no windows and no doors there and i'd look out there'd be a big pass of them about 500 of them all together and one little thing flying around in a circle i'd say the demons are here while i'm preaching today and i've been thinking they followed me from peru but anyway do you realize that fly lives and dies into a few days he's gone and he doesn't have any concept of the life you have and you realize that when you count your dog you say well a dog's uh you know one one year of a dog's life's like seven years of ours and when god want to make a comparison and it's not an exact comparison he's just trying to tell you where you exist he said by the way one of your days is like what he said one of your days is like a thousand years beloved be not ignorant of this one thing that one day with the lord is a thousand years so god said one of my days is like 365 000 of yours just so you know so don't try to compare yourself to me i mean basically you can't compare yourself to god so in your mind you the created want to look up at god and say god i'm trying to figure out how you did this and let me help you with this and he's looking down and saying if i measured your entire lifespan in the ten thousand and that one day is a thousand years if i did that and i compared it that way y'all don't live three hours you realize that if it was just one day is a thousand years with him you realize we don't live three hours in god's economy our lives are like a fly we're born and over and gone it don't even get to noon before we're dead and our grandkids are alive wild god wants you to know you are little and he is big he can create a world in six days he is god time with god is so far greater than with us that we can't understand it he was before it all began you were supposed to have written this down and looked it up somewhere you're supposed to we talked about it two times now he is eternal he is not limited to time and space the bible says in revelation chapter 4 and verse 8 revelation chapter 4 and verse 8 and the four beasts had each of them six wings about him they were full of eyes within and they rest not day and night saying holy holy holy lord god almighty and then look what he says which was which is and is to come he is eternal he was he is and he is to come these beasts recognized he was before me he is now and he is to come he had no beginning and he had no end he is the almighty that's what it said there in revelation chapter 4 and verse 8 he is the almighty in hebrews chapter 13 and verse 8 the bible said jesus christ the same yesterday today and forever

[16:08] it's easy to think that jesus began at his birth but he didn't i don't know how many people worshiped the little baby god the little baby jesus and they're almost like look there that beautiful little innocent baby he just got here and and you know in peru they used to have this thing where they kept the baby covered up they kept the baby covered up with a cloth or they didn't have it in the little manger scene and then at midnight on the 24th or you're starting the day of the 25th at midnight they would uncover it shoot off fireworks and everybody be so excited the baby was born but you do know that jesus existed a gazillion bazillion years before that not as jesus but as the lord as christ as the son of almighty god he is and he's always been in exodus chapter 20 verse 11 when god stepped forward and made his first creation he made something from nothing and marked time in eternity and he marks time in eternity in exodus chapter 20 in verse 11 the bible says for in six days the lord made heaven and earth the sea and all that is in them and he rested the seventh day wherefore the lord blessed the sabbath day and hallowed it i'd just like to stop a second show you something those of you who don't don't uh haven't listened to a lot of uh other people may not realize this but 11 first off tons of your bible's under attack i might just tell you that tons of your bible's under attack it's not in the bible it's not the word of god these verses don't belong in the bible but there are 11 chapters of the bible that are the most disputed and hated chapters in the bible and they are genesis 1 through 11 and they would say to you by the way they said this when i was in college in 1972 and it was already an old fight and the school i went to was really a liberal school and didn't take a very strong stand but the pastors in town and some of the and many of the students and a few of the professors even said this is ridiculous they don't believe any of the 11 chapters genesis 1 genesis 2 3 4 all the way up to they don't believe them there was no tower of babel there was no worldwide flood and there definitely wasn't a creation and now there are people you're listening to on the internet trying to tell you that genesis 1 and 2 are written in a whole different form they are there's images and they're poetical and they're allegorical and they're they're they're not exact and god didn't mean day when he said day and god didn't really mean he said let there be light and there was like what god meant was over a period of a gazillion years he made the earth and somewhere in there he stepped in well watch this i try to show you and i hope you got it if you don't accept genesis 1 1 you don't accept any of it because now we're in exodus they would say you can start believing the bible in genesis 12 because we found some artifacts and archaeologists have dug up stuff to prove that maybe abraham did really exist but let me explain some to something to you if they never find noah's ark and if they never had found anything about abraham and if they didn't know about moses and if they had never heard of pharaoh it's still the word of god from genesis 1 through genesis 11 and here in exodus chapter 20 in verse 11 moses reaffirms it was six days all through the bible it was six days you can't question the fact of the six days unless you want to doubt another passage of scripture he did it and he rested so first thing i'd like you to think of this it really was six days you say well i find that hard to believe me too but i don't really find hard to believe when i consider who he is but as a human i find that pretty hard to believe i mean i'm like well how in the world could he do that because i couldn't do that but then i'm not god he is and i couldn't i couldn't make anything in six days i couldn't make this pulpit in six days i mean i really couldn't i mean i'm just inept but you don't compare why would you try to compare god to me you ought to realize he is god almighty and he created the earth six days

[20:10] he said it that's enough second thing the holy spirit of god was actively involved in the creation i wanted you to understand that it wasn't god the father and later on the son will come up we'll see him in genesis or in matthew we'll finally find out about him and there'll be prophecies about him coming in matthew you remember we have seen clearly through the bible we've already seen clearly they let us make man in our image the holy spirit's at work go with me to genesis chapter 1 and verse 2 and the earth was without form and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep and the spirit of god moved upon the face of the waters would you underline this the spirit of god moved i'll explain something to you i don't know how god did it i just know he did it i don't need to know how he did it i just know he did it and i know that the holy spirit of god was at work if you doubt that verse how about job 26 13 by his spirit he hath garnished the heavens his hand hath formed the crooked serpent psalm 104 30 thou sendest forth thy spirit they are created and thou renewest the face of the earth god was intimately involved in the creation this verse makes it clear that he was there and he was moving clearly god doesn't wait until things have developed and then step in he did it i just want you to get that statement somewhere along the way those of you who have accepted evolution to a certain degree and some of you have i mean i even talk to you and i start hearing that little junk in your head and you've been taught in school that god didn't make the earth and it took a gazillion years and you heard it on the discovery channel and after all if it's on tv you have to believe it and so and if and if a guy who went to college and somebody told him what to say said it you got to believe it but let just let me explain something to you god was actively involved in creating the earth and if you want to deny the first 11 chapters which i pray to god you never would ever do i wouldn't deny one verse much less 11 chapters i want you to know every all over the bible they keep referring back to these 11 chapters five times he uses the word created in chapter one five times eight times he said god said and it happened in chapter one five times he uses the word make or made in this chapter god is actively involved in creation here's a big statement he's doing it in genesis chapter one god is making the earth you say what's so important about it well the very first thing that's important about it is if god said it that ought to make all the difference in the world can you really believe that there's this big great white thrown up in heaven someday and i've lost personal standing in front of it i mean he said that can you believe that can you believe that a man can die on a cross be dead his blood drained out of his body buried in a grave and three days later literally come back to life physically now my college professor said he didn't really physically come back to life they said baptist college they said he didn't physically come back he spiritually came back to life and he was here but you know not physically oh i tell you what he was dead as he could be he was buried he was in the ground and he arose and he came back to life and he was physically alive he ate he they touched him he was alive you say it's hard for me to believe i know you're not a believer you say i just believe what he said i believe he created me i believe he died on a cross i believe he was buried i believe he rose again i believe there's going to be a great white throne i believe there's going to be a judgment seat of christ i believe what he says in the bible somewhere along the way you need to step back and say i don't determine what's right and wrong i come to the bible and let it determine what's right and wrong third thing in the chapter god made everything good he said that several times six

[24:13] times in this chapter he says that he saw what he had done and he called it good in verse 31 would you read that with me genesis 1 31 when he finished the creation he looked at all over looked at everything he'd done and this is what he said and god saw everything that he had made and behold it was very good and the evening and the morning were the sixth day i'll stop here for some of your bible scholars some people even teach us this gap theory between verse 1 and verse 2 where god stopped all of creation the devil came in and messed up all of god's creation he destroyed everything that god had done it's like god was making a world and the devil swooped in and messed everything up and then god had to start all over and that's where you get pre-atamite men the guys who lived before adam and that's where the the the crow magnum man lived and that's where all the people who lived out there were and and they they they helped god because they said well you know chapter 1 verse 1 was the beginning and then there's a gazillion years in there and in verse 2 he takes up and starts to work again i'm gonna believe that a bit he said i made it and it's good you have a god who created the entire world i do not accept anything you would do to make god's word more palatable for lost people and i hope you don't there's no need for you to ever be embarrassed about holding his book in your hand there's no need for you ever say i'm kind of embarrassed about genesis especially chapters 1 and 2 all the way to 11 they embarrass me the the whole idea of a guy getting swallowed by a big fish and living for three days i'm kind of uncomfortable with that story or how he made water into wine or how he took a few little loaves and fishes and fed 5 000 people i mean i'm kind of hard for me to accept those things hey why don't you just say this i believe god he said it and i'll accept his word for it next thing chapter 1 in verse 26 genesis 1 26 god makes man in his image something really wild has taken place he made it all six days he's done everything it says in verse 26 and god said let us make man in our image after our likeness and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air and over the cattle and over all the earth and over every creepy thing that creepeth upon the earth so god created man in his own image and the image of god created he him male and female created he them several little things that you might look at with me number one the trinity the godhead creates god said let us make man it's god the father god the son and god the holy spirit he created us in his image i doubt that's talking about our physical appearance really think it's talking about the fact that he gave us a spirit we can know right from wrong and we can communicate with each other and especially with him but you were special created regardless you were special created i know they told you you were just an animal a tad further along in evolution and if you are then god is wrong and if you are you don't need and you want a savior and you won't be judged next thing i want you to see is this god gave man responsibility look in verse 28 again genesis 1 28 and god blessed him and god said unto them be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth and subdue it and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air and over every living thing that moves upon the earth today's society frowns on children and having large families if you have more than you're one and a half that's not good but the reason you feel like that is because you've been detached from the anchor of the

[28:17] word of god and what it says and you've accepted what some philosophical philanthropic organization in your day and time says we ought to do god said y'all go have babies children ought to be seen as a gift from god by the way that's why we wouldn't kill them just to throw that in that's why we wouldn't abort them and by the way adam is a full-grown man and he's a minute old and he's ready to have children when you reject how you got here you reject what you're supposed to do i don't know if you understand that when you reject how you got here you reject what you're supposed to do when you reject that god has a purpose for you then you become very selfish children are seen as a hindrance to money and material things etc so maybe you would abort a baby maybe you wouldn't have children and maybe you'd live your life your three little miserable hours on god's timetable for yourself because you lost your moorings the second thing i'd like you to see when he gave responsibility he made a male and female verse 27 genesis chapter 1 and verse 27 i do not get involved in political conversations but this is a biblical conversation when god made the family he made a man and he made a woman says in genesis 127 so god created man in his own image i believe that how many of y'all believe that say amen so we don't really have to discuss whether or not it's same-sex marriage is okay i don't care how many states adopted it won't ever be okay with god because when god did stuff he did it in the beginning and he made a man in his own image an image of god created he him male and female created he them he didn't create a man and a man he didn't create a man with a backup woman either so you don't get along with eve go find you another he made adam and eve male and female god outlined what marriage was to be god made a man and a woman and god told them to reproduce something's wrong in our society because we reject the children he told us to have we reject the marriage he decreed for us to have we reject the the way he meant for intimacy to take place between a man and a woman and we come up with all these wicked things that we would do that today is accepted and you even believe some of your young people actually accept that homosexuality is okay i hate to tell you this i don't care what they told you at school that's the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard in my life we'll love a guy who's homosexual and we'll hope he'll get saved but can you hear this homosexuality is acceptable to god as adultery and fornication god made man and woman thank you jeff that somebody would stand here when y'all shoot me after church it'll be okay i'll give you one more so i can make you mad all you pet lovers i'm all for you having a pet but your pet ain't near as worthwhile as a person in your society that you live in and i live in too we would do more to save a baby whale a baby seal or some little animal somewhere than we would do to save a billion a million and a half babies every year because we've lost something in the beginning god created and when you lose that you lost it all man was to subdue the creation and have dominion over it are you ready biblically we are not equal to animals i know you don't believe that we are not equal to animals you're not an animal and you're not equal to

[32:23] animals they are under our stewardship let me just sum up everything i've read over here and then we'll have a word of prayer things to remember here's the things i wish you could get out of chapter one if i could get it across to you number one it's all god the word god is mentioned 32 times in 31 verses in genesis chapter one would you write that down somewhere 32 times in 31 verses go count them for yourself genesis chapter one is god god god god god god god god 31 verses 32 times god i mean it's a god chapter that's what the whole story is about it was god that created said divided called made and blessed all of his creation it was god that was before the beginning or he couldn't have told us about the beginning it was god that established the day the week the seasons no one else nowhere else do we have the idea that things should last seven days and start over did you know that well you know where the first we don't want to find out about week don't you the creation week we'll find out the history of a week would you if we have a creator then we are but the created and i call this we are but the creation and i wish you'd understand what i mean by that listen what i'm telling you somewhere along the way you move yourself up in the ladder and you begin to think that you're like god's here and you're like really close to god but the truth is god is so awesomely almighty and eternal and forever that if god's at this level you're on the stinking other side of the planet all the way through on the other side of china you're still over there that's how far away you are there's no comparison he is god he's big and you are little and i'm little we are just a creation we were back in my office the other day you know how the guys we sat around and talking i pulled out some tootsie rolls i held the tootsie rolls on the table and i said you see these tootsie rolls it's like these tootsie rolls trying to tell the tootsie roll maker what he ought to do and our god is much more awesome than the guy who made the tootsie rolls because the guy who made the tootsie rolls went and bought chocolate over here and sugar over here and paper over here and got some ink over here and he put all that together he made him a tootsie roll and you bought it or i bought it so that your kid could get heaven but god said i'll just make everything out of nothing god is the creator you and i are just a creation if i could have brought the candy bars up here and you can just imagine one one tootsie roll talking to another tootsie roll and saying hey let me explain to you what he did how could a tootsie roll explain to you anything you say i understand that but let me remind you you are just a created person he is the creator if we have a creator they were to do what we were made to do if we have a creator kevin hall our missionary to south africa he built this pulpit there's everybody this was a labor of love he paid for everybody put the light on he put the glass on it it's like a 500 piece of work and he spent days building that thing for us this is kevin halls in fact is when he came in i thought it was too tall because he's a little bit taller than me and a lot better looking a lot stronger and this pulpit was more like for his size i'm very used to it now but this is his creation well he didn't create it he just made it because he had to go buy the wood you know but you know here's the deal whatever the maker makes it for that's what it's supposed to be for and you were made to serve god if we have a creator then then he will decide what to do with us how long are we to live what is to become of us what talents and abilities will we have he made us and we didn't make us and he will ultimately judge us creation is not about us thinking highly about ourselves but about him you don't need to read the creation story and say man i'm i'm a special thing made of god you need to read the

[36:25] creation story and say i cannot believe it the great creator god made it all and i am nothing we arrogantly think too highly of ourselves we believe we're superior the height of creation which we are but that was never about me thinking about how great i am but rather me thinking about how great he is creation brings the word of god into focus creation brings me into focus realizing how much i need him creation is a cause for me to fall down and worship my maker to reject the creation is to reject the creator that is what man wants to do if man made himself then he answers to no one if god made man then man will have to consider what his creator wants man's rejection of the creator is simply to put himself in the place of god so i accept genesis one i'd just like to say to you that you can't use any real hermeneutical bible study principle to change genesis chapter one into anything but this god created all in six days and he said it was very good you can say god made a mistake and the bible is it's just poetical literature and it doesn't really mean what it says but other than that honestly any real honest bible students gonna have to come to this and say man i don't know how he did it in six days but he did i will get to this with you thursday night a little bit and then the next sunday night chapter two is not a refutation of chapter one it's not a second creation story it's just a further explanation of what he did on the first day it's not to say i didn't say it all right in the first chapter it's just to say i gave you the outline now let me flesh out some of it so tonight i just want you to know god in the beginning god created the heaven and the earth as i've studied for this all it makes me think is this i am nothing and i am nobody and i need to stand back and say what an awesome god i have what a privilege i have that he would love me what a privilege i have that he would save me in my sin what a privilege i have to know that there is a great god what a privilege to know that this world is not here by accident what a privilege to know that there is a god in heaven i challenge you to believe his book i challenge you to accept it just like he says it if you have problems with genesis 1 then you'll probably have problems with john 3 16 if you have problems with genesis 1 you'll probably have problems with matthew 27 where jesus dies on the cross if you have problems with genesis 1 i don't know where you won't have problems just accept this we are but the created father in heaven i love you i thank you for the chance to serve you and i apologize to you lord for not making it clear enough not magnifying you enough not raising you high enough the best thing i could possibly do tonight was just read your chapter to them because i know that was right god would you let an all sink into the hearts of your people tonight would you let them look up to you and know holy spirit convict them shine the light in their hearts just like you made the light to shine in genesis chapter 1 make them see how big you are make your people tonight be an all about how wonderful you are let us love you and honor you and glorify you and magnify you for who you are god help us to lift our hearts to you god i ask you show your power to your people tonight and i stand in awe god i know you made us and i know you died to save us and i know you're coming again to judge this entire world and i pray god your people would just believe you you have been listening to austin gardner pastor of vision baptist church for contact information location service times or more audio and video recordings log on to www.visionbaptist.com
