[0:15] And we're going to do this just a little bit differently. Because we've got two languages going. It's like as though you're on a mission field.
[0:30] And you get to listen to a translated message. And so I want to read the verse. And we're going to totally stop. And then you're going to start.
[0:41] And they're going to read with you. And then we'll go through it. We're going to do this chapter. And I'm going to give you about three or four things real quick. But I want you to read with me.
[0:54] Psalms 136.1 And I think the Spanish people will be able to pick it up also. Are they going to read verse 2? Yep. Like you read one or two? Yep. Entonces ellos empezarán con el versículo 1, nosotros versículo 2.
[1:07] But you wait. Let the Spanish people just wait until I finish. Esperen hasta que termine él en inglés y nosotros lo leemos en español. And I want you to repeat with me. For his mercy endureth forever.
[1:22] And so every time I get to that part of the verse. Then you will read that out loud. Oh, give thanks unto the Lord for he is good.

[6:23] Who giveth food to all flesh. Al que da alimento a todo ser viviente. Porque para siempre es su misericordia. Oh, give thanks unto the God of heaven.
[6:38] Alabad al Dios de los cielos. Porque para siempre es su misericordia. I'm going to take some extra time and you can charge it to me another day. Voy a tomar algo de tiempo extra and me pueden cobrar otro día.
[6:48] But I want you to see some things. Pero quiero que veas algunas cosas. He uses repetition to make sure you learn a basic. Él usa la repetición para que puedas aprender. A basic but very important truth.
[6:59] Una verdad básica pero muy importante. The phrase. La frase. For his mercy endureth forever. Porque para siempre es su misericordia. Is used 26 times in one chapter.
[7:10] Es usada 26 veces en un capítulo. There are 378 words in this psalm. 156 of them. Y 156 de ellas.
[7:21] Are for his mercy endureth forever. 41% of the words. 41% de las palabras. Are the same. Son las mismas. In this psalm. Or psalm.
[7:33] O en esta canción. Could you tell me what he wants you to figure out in this psalm. Out loud. For his.
[7:46] You got slow on it at the end. You were kind of. For his mercy endureth. For his mercy endureth.
[7:59] But look what it says. 26 times. For his mercy endureth forever. I know the hearts of some people in this room.
[8:11] And some of them have very. Very huge burdens tonight. They're hurting in ways you don't understand. And I don't have an answer for them.
[8:25] But I have a God. Whose mercy. Endures forever. It's for forever. And I hope you understand that. This psalm.
[8:36] Ends and begins. Saying that we are to give thanks to the Lord. It tells us how to give thanks to the Lord.
[8:48] It's something he obviously had to think about. By the way. He didn't remind. Repeating what he thought to God. He emphasized important truths.
[9:02] David empathizou. Verdades importantes. That we should remember. That we should remember. As we worship. Mientras adoramos. First thing he said was this.
[9:12] Lo primero que él dijo es esto. In verse 1. In versículo 1. He is good. Alabada Jehová. Porque él es bueno. He is good. He is good. I don't care where you are. No importa donde estés.
[9:23] I don't care what you're going through. No importa que estés pasando. He is good. Él es bueno. In verse 4 he said. In versículo 4. Él dice. Who alone does great wonders. Al único que hace grandes maravillas.
[9:36] He thanks and praises God in this psalm. Él agradece y alaba a Dios en este psalm. For being the creator. Por ser el creador. The one who made the heavens. Por ser el que creó a los cielos.
[9:48] The one that stretched out the earth above the waters. El que estiró la tierra y las aguas. That made great lights. Que hizo grandes luces. The sun, the moon, and the stars. El cielo y la luna y las estrellas.
[10:00] Not only do we serve a great and good God. No solamente servimos a un gran Dios y un buen Dios. He is our creator. Es nuestro creador. He thanks God for delivering them.
[10:11] Él agradece a Dios por liberarles. From slavery. And taking them to the promised land. Él agradece a Dios por darles direction.
[10:24] And providing for them. And protecting them. So if you take time when you get home. And just look at Psalm 136. And thank God.
[10:38] Some of you that are going through some bad things. And I could honestly call your names. Because I think about you a lot. All the time praying for you. I hurt for you.
[10:52] I hurt for what's going on in your family. I hurt for what's going on in your physical life. I hurt for what's happening in your spiritual life.
[11:07] But no man has the answer. Nobody's going to be able to help you. But he is a God. Whose mercy. Endures forever.
[11:19] And if you would go to him. He'll love you. And he will bless you. And he'll work in your life. And he'll work in your life. Now. You are probably thinking.
[11:32] This church doesn't meet my needs. You are probably thinking. Well, this church doesn't meet my needs. And I would like to admit. That that's the truth. This church can't meet your needs.
[11:44] I can't meet your needs. I am just a man. But I know somebody. Who can help you. And his mercy.
[11:56] Endures. Forever. You realize what's happening. When you get through this. In every part of his life. He said. I know my God. This is Old Testament.
[12:10] This is the part. You thought God was mean. But when they write this psalm. This is something they sang in their worship. He just says this over and over.
[12:23] His mercy. Endures forever. He really thought. Boy, he's a good God. On the day you don't love God. His mercy endures forever.
[12:37] On the day you're acting like a jerk. He still loves you. He still loves you. He still loves you. His mercy endures forever. On the day that you're hurting real bad.
[12:47] And you're accusing him. For things that have gone wrong in your life. For things that have gone wrong in your life. That happen in everybody's life. He still loves you.
[13:00] You can be mad at him. He still loves you. For his mercy endures forever. He still loves you. He still loves you. So when you go home tonight. So when you go home tonight.
[13:12] We thank mostly. We thank God. We thank God for all he's done for us. If you're born again. If you have heaven like your future.
[13:26] As your future. If you have the Holy Spirit of God dwelling in your heart. You're going through whatever amount of problems.
[13:38] He will be there. And he will minister to you. And he'll help you. Your biggest problem.
[13:49] Is some reason you can't remember. His mercy endures forever. He said it 26 times. Nearly half of the chapter is.
[14:04] His mercy endures forever. And we don't know who writes this psalm. But when you get to the end of the psalm. And you're walking home.
[14:16] You probably ought to remember one thing. His mercy. Endures forever. That's pretty easy to remember. He said it 26 times.
[14:28] Can you imagine them singing. Having a song service. I can imagine how they would sing this song. Song leader might say. I want the men to sing the first part.
[14:42] Oh give thanks unto the Lord. For he is good. And ladies I want all y'all to come in. And say this.
[14:53] For his mercy endures forever. And they'd have gone through every verse. And the guys would have looked at them maybe. Hey man look what God's done.
[15:05] The women would yell back at him. Yeah well his mercy endures forever. And the men would say. Well what about this. And they'd say. His mercy endures forever.
[15:18] And 26 verses later. I hope you realize. His mercy endures forever. Everybody in this room. Has problems.
[15:30] In fact there's a bunch of failures in this room. We don't have it all together. We know how to put it together. With zip locks.
[15:46] And with masking tape. And we come in the church. And we act like we got it together. And we actually think.
[15:59] You know. I don't have it together like the rest of them. And God's looking down saying. I have a message for you. And none of y'all got it together.
[16:12] But I am good. And my mercy. Endures forever. So this is a day to say thank you. And to be honest. It's not really about thanking your husband or your wife.
[16:25] Or even your church or your pastor. It's time to say thanks to God. Because he is good. And his mercy endures forever. I don't know how you read the song.
[16:39] His mercy endures forever. So would you repeat that with me. One more time. And I'll pray. For his mercy. You're stunk.
[16:51] Let's do it again. For his mercy. And now in Spanish. Because for always. It's your mercy. Father in heaven. I love you.
[17:03] And I thank you very much. For the chance to be with your people tonight. I thank you for their sacrifice. I thank you for the food they brought. I thank you for how you worked in their life.
[17:18] And you've changed their heart. Now God I pray that you'd help them tonight. Understand how much you love them. And Father I pray you convince them of their need for you.
[17:34] And tonight God as they lay down. No when they lay down tonight when they get home. And when they're in their bed. I ask you to help them know. That they can rest.
[17:47] Knowing what a great and wonderful God you are. And that you have done everything for them. So that they can be saved. And secure.
[17:59] And blessed. And we love you. In the name of Jesus I ask all this. Amen. Amen. You have been listening to Austin Gardner.
