[0:00] this message was recorded at vision Baptist Church in Alpharetta Georgia this is the next message in our series on the book of John entitled Jesus is God well I don't know of a song I love more than that song what a beautiful song what a wonderful love and it certainly does demand everything amen how could anybody love me like Jesus loves me and has loved me and I hope that you take that home with you and I hope that you think about that it's been one of my favorite songs all of my Christian life and I got saved when I was seven so I've been saved a long time and I sure thank God for I sure thank God for that song what a wonderful love he has for us and how that demands everything my time my money my life I hope that you understand that great truth now take your Bible and let's go to John chapter 11 and let's talk about death isn't that one of the scariest subjects it's the thing we don't want to talk about it's the thing that it's the thing that we don't understand it's the thing that we're never really ready for when your family is going to die a loved one is going to die we're not usually ready for it years ago I was with a friend of mine he was the pastor I was the assistant pastor and we were in a home and we were just talking to this lady and we tried to invite her to church we had gone somehow door to door and we'd stumbled on her house and so she invited us in she was a lot older than us we were like 22 years old or 21 years old and she must have been 150 maybe like 50 years old 70 years old I don't know but you know when you're 21 50 year olds sure do look old amen but now 50 year olds look pretty young to me I think of them as young whippersnappers and 60 year olds don't look all that old Joe you keep that smile going because you understand and so so you know we were sitting there in our house and she says and she says uh you know we we said do you know if you die today you go to heaven we try to talk to her about Jesus and she said I don't want to talk about him I don't want to talk about him I don't want to talk about God I am angry with God and we said wow why are you angry with God and she said because he killed my grandfather so we thought to ourselves I wonder how he killed him so we said how did he kill him she said he died we said well how old was he 92 and uh she said I said well ma'am that's um a long life she said he didn't need to die when he did and he could have lived longer and I don't know why God took him away from me and the truth is that when somebody dies we're almost never ready for it no matter how old they are no matter how old they are no matter how sick they are no matter how close to God they are no matter how saved they are we're not ready for it but one of the main reasons is we don't understand what the Bible says about death and here's what's going on in John chapter 11 now I might preface everything I'm going to say today by telling you that I really believe there's a God in heaven and I really believe there's a heaven and I really believe there's a hell and I really believe every word that you have that you'll see flash on this screen today and every word that you find having that Bible in in front of you I really believe that
[3:29] I really believe that I remember uh another death in that same church and uh this lady I think her last name was nation if I recall correctly this is I mean this was like in 1976 or so when this happened and I remember boy she was one of the sweetest most lovely saints of God and and I knew that when she died how sweet it was you said I don't understand that well maybe you will after it's over I remember her funeral and how sweet it was I remember what a sweet spirit she had and they found her a couple of days after she died and everybody was all torn up but I knew I recall when my grandparents died and because of maybe uh studying the Bible and trying to walk with Jesus and knowing a little bit about him I can remember my grandmother dying and then my granddad died and I can remember I can remember as my granddad died I thought to myself that as he got to heaven you know when he got to heaven he he came face to face with the door of heaven that's Jesus and when he saw Jesus uh and and Jesus was welcoming him there because he had accepted Christ as his savior I pictured in my mind the lady he thought was the most beautiful lady he had ever seen on this planet that was my grandmother he thought she was beautiful after she was 85 and 90 he still thought she was beautiful when I thought all her beauty had been gone for centuries he still thought she was beautiful and I could just picture my grandmother behind Jesus saying whenever you get through talking with the boss man I'm going to show you some stuff that you ain't never imagined you ain't going to believe where you are now and I could just imagine a great reunion and so to me because of a bible understanding of death death has lost its sting death has lost its sting that doesn't mean I'm looking forward to dying it certainly doesn't mean I'm looking forward to the process it certainly doesn't mean that uh that uh uh that that I want to die today but it does mean this I know some bible truths that has radically affected me and uh has radically affected what I believe and I hope will you look if you would in the story well let me tell you the story first and now let's skim you through the verses
[5:46] Lazarus loved Jesus but even more important than that in the story is when the sisters send us Jesus they send and say the man you love Lazarus is sick and he's dying and they send that they know that Jesus just really loves Lazarus and they say Jesus the guy you love is dying and uh Jesus uh because he's teaching us a story because he's going to make sure we know before it's over that we can believe him and trust him Jesus doesn't do anything about it he kind of like gets a message he knows that Lazarus is dying and he kind of goes okay and he waits two more days before he even heads out to go back to to where Lazarus is and then when they finally uh he tells his disciples he said oh Lazarus is asleep and they say well that's good if he's sleeping then he said no he's not that kind of asleep he's dead and Jesus then says this weird sentence Jesus said well I'm glad I wasn't there when he to keep him from dying because I'm fixing to do something that'll cause you to believe in me so he referred to
[6:56] Lazarus as sleeping look in your bible mark if you would mark if you would in john chapter 11 in verse 11 these things said he after they said unto them our friend Lazarus sleepeth and I'm going to wake him up our friend Lazarus sleepeth and I'm going to wake him up rest in peace Lazarus is asleep sleep is sweet and I'm going to wake him up they thought well you must be talking about sleep and sleep's good and if he was a little bit sick and now he's sleeping peacefully that's really great and Jesus said no get it straight I mean he's dead but I am going to prove something to you verse 15 to the intent that you may believe now I would like to take you down to verse 15 but before I do let me remind you of some things that you have seen with us uh in other times the bible uses the word sleep for death in the new testament that word's only used for born again people we sleep in death they don't sleep in death there are two groups of people on the planet born again and lost people there are saved people and not saved people there are people going to heaven and people going to hell and those that are saved the bible uses the word frequently of sleep the bible has taught us that there's only the shadow of death that death has lost its its sting and we know we know that jesus has won the victory over death the bible says in psalm 116 15 the verse you ought to memorize precious in the sight of the lord is the death of his saints it's sweet it's important it's special that that god's people when they die that's a really wonderful precious thing now look at you at verse 15 jesus was glad that he was not there to keep lazarus from dying verse 15 i am glad for your sakes that i was not there i am glad i wasn't there to the intent that you may believe nevertheless let us go on now there's a lot going on there you know jesus isn't glad he's dead jesus isn't he didn't say i'm glad he's dead he's i'm glad i wasn't there for the intent that you might believe but there is something in the phrase i'm glad i wasn't there for your sakes i'm glad i wasn't there to save him i'm glad i let him die and can i just say this jesus knew that being dead wasn't something to be afraid of can you say amen right there he called it sleeping and i mean and honestly if he'd have been dying if he'd been dead and in some kind of torment if he'd have been dead it'd been something horrible jesus wouldn't said oh it's okay he's just going to be suffering for a couple three days till i get there oh he's just going to be in misery for four days no big deal that's not what's going on here jesus said he's he's dead i'm not getting there four days later and i'm glad that kind of gives me some comfort about what happens when i die you remember what the bible says in philippians chapter 1 verses 21 to 25 the apostle paul had learned something that you should know the apostle paul had learned something we should take to heart in philippians chapter 1 and verse 21 down to 25 paul says this hey for me a born-again christian a preacher an apostle a bible writer a man of god i know this that my life is for one purpose and it is for the cause and kingdom of god i live for jesus and to die for me is gain paul said do you understand that if i'm alive i'm alive to work i'm alive to serve i'm alive to pray i'm alive to preach i'm alive to give i'm alive to disciple i'm alive to wake up every morning and think this is not my life but his so for me to live is christ and to die is gain can i just tell you listen
[11:03] to me you're not going to pay attention but it's like we come into this life and we i actually wanted this for tonight's message i wanted to maybe get one of our guys to put on one of those letter jackets you remember those from football and basketball as a kid and i wanted to have their letter jacket i wanted to have a briefcase full of money and i wanted to have a bunch of school books and i wanted to come up to jesus and here's kind of the way we do it i have my life and i have my dreams i have my goals and we come to jesus and we say hey i want to get saved and i want to go to heaven and i want to add you to my life i got a lot of things i think i can work you in i believe i'll be able to get you in on the weekends i think let me check my let me to check my my planner let me look at my iphone and make sure i can schedule you maybe i can pencil you in for sundays a lot of times i'll even work in a few sunday nights don't think i'll be able to make it midweek you're not quite on that level but uh you know i'd like to get you in and and and and i really want to now you see i got a lot of junk here and let's have a real good friendship if what you're going to do for me is help me with what i got to do because i got a lot to do i i got i graduated i got my money i got my plans i got my future i got my retirement i got my yacht i got all the things i want now if you'll help me got my wife got my kids you help me we're going to go far but paul said paul said i died all of that in my life and my plans and in my future and my briefcase and my keys and everything else i just put it aside and i say jesus tell me what to do from here on out my life is yours you see that starts to change the way you look at death but it won't really start out you look at death you start to change how you look at life a lot of y'all can't get a hold of this because to live is not christ to live is for you to live is for your wife to live is for your children to live is for your stuff to live is to make you rich to live is to make you happy you think this is the world you have no idea about a world to come and if it's to come let it come later because i like this world and i like what's going on here but paul said to live is to live is to live is boy wouldn't that be something the truth is we might all could say to live is to make money to live is to get a good job to live is to get married to live is to have children to live is to have a good retirement to live is to have good health to live is to live is to live is and that's why we cannot get a hold of this dying thing jesus thought the world revolved around him because he created it because he owned it because he said the silver and the gold and everything was his he thought it revolved around him we think the opposite we said look lord don't be ridiculous we love you we don't mind adding you in but the world revolves around me could you say amen right there or oh me but one of those two and paul said to live is christ and to die is gain so look at the next verse philippians chapter 1 in verse 22 if i live in the flesh this is the fruit of my labor yet what i shall choose i want he said if i stay alive i'm going to be doing something for god i mean paul didn't get up on sunday morning thinking about work on monday morning paul got up on sunday morning thinking about how he's going to please jesus and how he's going to work in a sunday school class and how he's going to do something with the children and on saturday how he was going to knock on doors on monday how even if he made money while he was making money he was going to talk about jesus and and he was going to honor jesus he's going to honor him with his money he was going to honor him with his time and paul said hey all i know is this as long as i'm alive i'm going to produce for jesus next verse verse 53 i'm in a straight betwixt two i really can't figure out what i want because all the time i'm here i'm working and
[15:04] sweating for the kingdom and for the cause of jesus christ and i'm glad to do that and i enjoy what i'm doing but man if i could just get on out of here and go up there to heaven and be with jesus that'd be far better you ought to mark that in your bible far better you ought to make a note they're far better but we don't have that attitude at all here's our attitude it is far better to stay on earth it is far better to make money it is far better to drive a good vehicle it is far better to live in a nice home it is far better to have nice clothes it is far better to have a wife it's far better to have children and i mean i mean look look look look i mean when you gotta die it's pretty good to have jesus it's pretty good to have jesus but it sure is far better to live here say amen or oh me am i wrong well how come you're acting angry come on talk to me you see you see i mean really i'm kind of right there where you live and that's what's hurting us paul said i have a desire to depart if you'd have talked to paul and said paul you're getting old you're gonna die he'd be like yes one of these days you're checking out here yes i'd like to do that paul you might die today yes i have a desire for that i've been looking forward to that we say to you you're 90 years old you're laying on the bed you're going we say hey you might die you go no but paul said yes that's far better that's far better look if you would at verse 24 paul said only reason i'll hang around is because it's needful for you and i can help you and accomplish stuff jesus said death is not to be feared that's a completely biblical idea it is a completely biblical idea it's not to be feared jesus was so glad lazarus died because it was jesus who was going to wake him up it was jesus you know jesus has power over death i'm just going to real quickly tell you some bible stories so you get the point jesus has power over death death cannot exist in the presence of jesus in luke chapter 17 verses 11 through 16 there's a story of a man who is dead and he's being carried out of the city and he's the only son of his mother the place he's from is called name and in verse 13 when the lord saw her he had compassion on her and they're walking out of town kind of like you see when you see the arabic people walking through the crowds with somebody that got killed and they're trying to make a parade of it and everybody's walking down they got them held up on their shoulder maybe and they're walking out of the crowd out of town and the the widow lady's back there and the only person she's got to take care of is her son and she's all broken hearted and her son's dead she doesn't know where to go she doesn't have a husband doesn't have anybody else and jesus walks up and just reaches the bible says and he and he touched he says uh it says in verse 14 and he came and touched the briar and they that bare him stood still and he said young man arise and the dead guy sat up and began to speak and he delivered him to his mother now let's just be honest that would scare us slap to death i've done a lot of funerals i've done a lot of them and you know you look at them and they're like plastic they're laying there and i'll just be honest if jesus said were to walk into one of the funerals i was doing and say set up and he sat up i'd probably be running out after it happened so here they are walking down the road and everybody's scared but jesus just comes along and says hey arise hey how y'all doing i could just i i wonder if they dropped him i think there's a good chance they might have dropped him if they didn't i bet they shook him up a bit but he shook them up more death can't exist he often meets our meets our needs even when we aren't asking he just shows up and does something you know the lady didn't ask nobody ran and said hey i'm the only he's the only son i got and i'm a widow lady and he died i need help but jesus just showed up and awoke him from death in luke chapter 8 verses 41 through 45 there's a
[19:08] guy named jarius this is a story you ought to mark in your bible this is wild because it teaches us some things about his whole attitude he has power over death in john chapter 8 luke chapter 8 verses 41 through 45 in verse 42 there was a man who had only one daughter and she was 12 years of age and she was dying and he goes to find jesus but the people are thronging him and he wants to talk to her he's trying to get through to jesus you know everywhere jesus goes there's a crowd around him i mean it's kind of like you can't get through to him it's like there's people all around him and this guy tries he's he's a big shot but he's trying to get through the crowd he can't get through and as he's trying to push people out of the way to get to jesus because he knows there's one guy who has power over death he's already heard about him he knows how powerful he is he tries to push him out of the way and as they push him out of the way finally somebody taps him on the shoulder and says and if you look in your bible in verse 49 said while he yet spake there cometh one from the ruler he just got through to jesus to talk to him and the guy said don't worry about it she's dead don't trouble the master she's dead i love this next one you know mark this in your bible but when jesus heard it he answered and said fear not believe only and she shall be made whole and he goes to the house he says hey i know they said she's dead but don't you worry about you just trust me that's all i'm doing amen you want to know how else it gets along with death i'm just trusting jesus he said how do you know what's gonna work out i'm just trusting jesus only believe he walked in the house and he said hey y'all everybody quit crying everybody was crying it was weeping and well you ever been in one of those houses right after somebody died you ever been there you ever been there when everybody was sitting around there and that last breath goes out you ever heard the sometimes they're yelling and the screaming and the fussing and people are mad at each other because they they didn't get to see the last breath and and you didn't talk them you they were in the bathroom and you didn't call you ever been there it's pretty horrible thing and jesus comes hey everybody just stop crying she is not dead she's just asleep verse 52 verse 53 they laughed him to scorn they mocked him you fool you idiot ha ha ha and they laughed because they knew that she was dead and he put them out of the room took her by the hand and said made arise and she came back to life jesus just doesn't come into contact with death there's only gonna be one more story about him coming into contact with death and that's lazarus but let me just show you some things about that death story how must it be to give your petition to the lord and be interrupted see some of you are dealing with issues right now and you're talking to god and you're wondering when god's going to hear and when god's going to answer and this guy gets all the way and he's in the presence of jesus he says jesus my daughter is what she's just forget it got here too late nothing you can do it seemed like jesus was almost ignoring him there was a crowd around him other people there seemed like it was too late but jesus heard him i want you to know you don't ever quit praying you always keep believing you always keep looking to jesus jesus knew that lazarus death and resurrection was going to strengthen their faith they've called for him to come he says but i'm going to prove something to you that you may believe john 11 15 i'm glad for your sakes that i was not there to the intent that you may believe nevertheless let us go to him they all knew the facts they knew that jesus was all powerful it's one thing to know it and another thing to experience it everybody in this room i would say i would say that all of us know everything i know about jesus i bet every one of us could say no we know that story and we know that story and we know that story now we know that jesus is great and we know there's a real god in heaven and we know he can do great things and mary knew that
[23:12] and martha knew that and everybody in the room knew that but it was another thing to say i'm going to step out and trust him i'm going to say to you that a lot of you know that he could forgive your sins you know he could radically change your life you know that great things could happen you know if you ever really got connected to jesus big things would happen and you know it you know it you know it you know it you've heard it all your life but you haven't experienced it it's time to step up and say jesus i mean business i'm here i believe i want to know you have you experienced the spiritual resurrection have you come to the place that he has saved you from your sin you were dead in your sins and he saved you that's a question for you today before we leave death let me say everything that jesus says about death for a believer is a positive thing and we're all going to die and death is so close and you may not realize it but it's close this week since thursday i believe it was three pedestrians have been hit and killed in the city of atlanta just walking down the road and somebody ran into them and killed them this week a missionary's daughter three years of age was taken out in an accident and some ice in in north carolina and i have a lot of friends that are on the road almost every week driving death is around the corner i need to know what god says about death i need the comfort it's far better to be comforted beforehand so that when it happens you're ready for it death is coming but before i leave that i need you know the bible talks about two deaths because not everybody in this room is born again the bible talks about two deaths for one of them it's rest in peace for one of them it's the shadow of death for one of them there's no sting to death for us that are born again it is far better to be in his presence and we ought to have a desire to depart and be with jesus for one of us for those that are born again but for others let me say that death is the horrific beginning of horror for some of us death is the beginning of eternity forever without christ the bible tells the story in luke chapter 16 jesus told the story chapter 19 through verse 30 luke 16 19 through 31 here lazarus dies in john chapter 11 but here's another lazarus not the same guy in luke chapter 16 verses 19 through 31 it's another lazarus who's dying and we're going to see what the bible says real quickly because i want you to know there are two deaths and i want you to know that as you deal with your friends don't take the promises of a christian's death and apply them to a lost man's death because the same jesus had talked to us about how sweet and wonderful death was for us told us about the horrors of death for them maybe you ought to open your bible if you would to luke chapter 16 verses 19 to 31 and you might mark some things in verse 19 luke 16 19 a certain rich man clothed in purple he's he's living it up i mean he lives in the fancy neighborhood he lives in the neighborhood when you go over there and you pull in and it's like mansions we were out looking for where we're going to start the next church and we were driving by homes i'm telling you if it if the president doesn't live there i don't know who does live there and some of the people that were out docking on doors yesterday drove through homes and they were fantastic that's where this rich guy lived and everything would have screamed i've got it all together everything would have screamed i've got the nicest house i've got the nicest car i've got maids and i eat like a banquet every day my breakfast is a banquet and my lunch is a banquet and my supper or dinner is a banquet i live great i wear wonderful clothes but it must be that god is blessing me but this story is told to show you that what you see of the way a man lives here as far as financially blessed and physically blessed isn't what's necessarily true and there was another guy and it says in in luke chapter 16 and verse 20 a certain beggar named lazarus and he was laid at the gate and his body was covered in sores and if anything it looks like god's not pleased with him it looks like god's not blessing him
[27:15] because he eats the crumbs that fall from the rich guy's table and you would have thought when you saw the story you would have gone by and said look at that how god blesses the man that believes in him and is religious and you looked at the beggar and said i wonder what he did to get to be so bad off but the story is going to end up telling you that the rich man died and in hell he lift up his eyes being in torment and the poor man went to heaven the rich man didn't go to hell because he was rich the poor man didn't go to heaven because he was poor but you can't trust what you see and just because you live in a nice house doesn't mean you're saved just because you got nice clothes doesn't mean a thing you can go from riches to rags in a second you can go from big banquets to hell in a heartbeat and you need to understand that's what he's trying to get across her to this some interesting things about this it says it says uh in verse 22 and it came to pass the beggar died but you need to mark this in your bible the beggar died and was carried by angels into abraham's bosom which was a which is a an old testament thing still being taken place in the new testament but when the beggar died all of a sudden he had attendance he had servants waiting on him and there were some angels came down and as he closed his eyes and death the angels reached out and said come on taking you to a place of comfort taking you to abraham's bosom taking you to a place of of consolation a place of comfort a place of sweetness while we wait for jesus to finish the process of salvation and to die on the cross for us and the bible says and the rich man also died and was buried and in hell verse 23 he lift up his eyes being in torments and i'm going to ask you to look in your bible i want to ask you to mark it i know nobody preaches about hell but it says in the bible as much as anything else that guy died and bam he was in torment i've been talking to you about how wonderful death is i've been talking to you about how when we die who a desire to be there go to heaven when we die a desire to be in the presence of god i've told you about all the good things about that and you could easily walk out here saying man that's not bad it is bad it's horrible if a man doesn't know jesus and a dead man the the rich man lived he didn't go to hell because he was rich he went to hell because he his riches made him think he didn't need god boy where we live that could easily be our thought couldn't it i mean how much you need god i can remember when i was a young college student i'd pray to god my tires would make it to school the next day i'd get out and pray say god please bless these tires i know they haven't seen tread in a hundred years but if you could just hold them together i can remember praying over my motor oh god it won't start but if you just work a miracle and start it now you know when you got a nice car you know what you do you don't ever even think about it i can remember every time we went to make a trip we get in the car and i said let's have a prayer that's god take care of us but once you get a nice car you don't need to pray anymore come on say man you know when you pray you pray when you're driving junk you know only time you pray when you're driving good stuff is when you wreck it say amen or when you see the highway patrol turn his lights on in the back oh god please that's the only time you pray when you're driving good stuff come on verse 22 in hell he lift up his eyes been in torments verse 24 he said i am tormented verse 25 he said son remember that in your lifetime you received good things now lazarus he didn't things didn't go so well for him he's comforted and you're tormented and there's a great gulf fixed and you ain't getting out that's tennessee and for you will not be getting out of it there's nobody gonna pray you out of purgatory there's not gonna pray you out of hell and get you into heaven there's no 10 years in and
[31:17] then you get out there's no option for parole there's no coming before the parole board you die in your sin and it'll be it in revelation chapter 20 and verse 14 and death and hell were cast in the lake of fire this is the second death we will all die physically due to sin but after you die physically there's one more death if you're not saved listen this you die physically but the bible calls that lake of fire where you'll be enthroned the second death and if you don't know christ whether we like it or not jesus taught that there was a place called hell a place of torment in matthew chapter 25 and verse 41 he said then also they which are on the left hand depart from me you cursed into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels i'd like to make a little comparison for you if you're a bible studier you see in in in matthew 25 41 there was a place of torment prepared for the devil and his angels in john 14 1 through 6 jesus said i'm going to prepare you a place in the presence of my father two prepared places one for unprepared people and one for prepared people did you hear that you don't you don't take time to know jesus there's a place prepared for the devil and his angels matthew chapter 25 verse 46 and these shall also go into everlasting punishment but the righteous unto life eternal i'm i'm a hillbilly not very educated not very smart but everlasting is pretty easy for a dumb boy to understand it's ever lasting you say what's that mean well ever lasting you say i don't get it okay lasting forever you get it yet and you see what's going to happen is if you don't know christ jesus has already paid all the debt and you can easily be saved today matthew chapter 13 and verse 42 it's a horrible place of excruciating pain and they shall cast him into a furnace of fire and there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth a place prepared for the devil and his angels where god will send those who have the same attitude as the devil and say i don't believe in you and i reject you from being king over my life but in john 14 verse 2 the bible said in my father's house are many mansions if it were not so i would have told you i go to prepare a place for you and if i go and i prepare a place for you i will come again and receive you unto myself and let's run quickly back to lazarus and you may say why in the world you get off lazarus because i do not want you to hear me talk about lazarus and think it applies to you unless it does let me repeat that i do not want you to hear me talk about the lazarus that jesus loved and death was sleep and death was sweet and death was to be desired because it was to go to be with the father i don't want you to think i'm talking about you or god's talking about you unless he is he's not talking about everybody we don't believe in what's called universalism we don't believe that everybody's going to go to heaven the bible doesn't teach that you will accept or reject the gift salvation is bought and paid for and waiting for you right now
[35:19] jesus died on the cross and paid the entire sin debt so that everybody could be saved and he doesn't want anybody to go to hell but if you refuse to believe if you refuse to believe you will lazarus is sleeping but don't y'all worry i'm gonna go wake him up now they didn't understand exactly what that meant but they will in a few chat verses you'll get that we'll be there by when it's a thursday night and sunday morning we'll get there you know what happened he goes and uh they're standing outside the grave and the grave's been sealed and and because they don't want the stink to get out the man's body's rotting and he's standing out there and he says to him he said all right y'all move the rock roll that stone out of the way no no no hey jesus we can't do this been dead four days we don't embalm here his body's already rotting it's stinking if you pull that we're all going to smell the stench of lazarus and jesus said just roll the rock away and then he says lazarus come forth somebody said why did he say lazarus because if he just said come forth it'd all come forth because he's god but lazarus is asleep and i go to wake him i don't mean he's really asleep i mean he's dead but don't worry i have power over death one of my favorite if i was an artist one of my favorite pictures of jesus is he's coming back from the dead he's walking out of death and and uh and uh and hell and he has conquered death and hell he's got the keys hanging on his belt and he says hey i am he that was alive and dead and alive forevermore and don't worry boys right there's the keys like a peruvian hanging on his belt i have overcome i love that today you can be saved because there are two deaths for all of us but jesus took ours on the cross of calvary for the wages of sin is death but the gift of god's eternal life and what happened was when jesus was on the cross he died and paid your sin debt will you accept the gift father with heads bowed and eyes closed i pray you touch them i pray god that those that don't know for sure that they go to heaven today would trust you and today would believe in you and i pray that your name would be magnified in them god come down and do a work i pray dear god for those that aren't saved that today they would get saved and i pray for believers that are afraid of death that they would trust you and i pray for believers that are living for themselves that they would die to themselves so you could work and show your glory and their life could have real meaning and real purpose would you do a work you have been listening to austin gardner pastor of vision baptist church for contact information location service times or more audio and video recordings log on to www.visionbaptist.com
